01:17:02.000 Effectively, after they did the big bailout with $700 billion writing checks to the banks, they really have come to the realization they cannot do that again.

01:17:18.000 So the problem really has stemmed from a structural design in Europe which is absolutely fatal.

01:17:28.000 And when they were going to create the euro, you know, I can say publicly, I mean, they came to us.

01:17:36.000 They even took the entire back row of our conference.

01:17:40.000 The commission was there, you know, for two days, met with them.

01:17:44.000 And this is back in 97.

01:17:46.000 And I told him, you know, if you're going to try and create a new currency, there has to be a single debt.

01:17:56.000 Now, They understood that, but what they told me then was that they didn't feel that they could get the European population to vote for that.

01:18:03.000 It would be perceived as a bailout.

01:18:06.000 So they just want to do the currency first.

01:18:09.000 And then when those people leave, the next crew that comes in, they never heard of phase two.

01:18:15.000 And so the structural difference, why it's so bad in Europe, is that each bank for its reserves had to be politically correct.

01:18:25.000 So they had a piece of everybody's debt.

01:18:28.000 And that would be like our banking system if it was backed by debt of every individual state.

01:18:34.000 I mean, if Louisiana goes down or California, then everybody's going to be rushing to say, oh, which bank has the most of that?

01:18:43.000 And that's what's going on in Europe.

01:18:45.000 Now, instead of correcting the problem, you have too many jobs now in Brussels dependent upon the euro.

01:18:54.000 So they're going to defend it to the absolute last breath of the private sector.

01:19:00.000 And so that's where the real drive to move to electronic currency is all about.

01:19:08.000 And they see it as preventing you from running to the bank and taking your money out.

01:19:14.000 So it eliminates a bank run.

01:19:17.000 And that's their main purpose in Europe.

01:19:21.000 So, secondly, is they want to collect absolutely every, you know, penny they think you owe in taxes.

01:19:29.000 So, it's getting to be really crazy.

01:19:32.000 I mean, you're not going to, with these people, they want to basically take it to the point where you cannot buy or sell anything without approval of the government.

01:19:44.000 And so bottom line in layman's terms and again a major documentary feature hit film was made about your predictions coming true that was released last year has a 7.9 ratings very high on IMDB the forecaster we can put the IMDB screen up there for TV viewers of the forecaster it's a documentary about you and so it's really scary

01:20:08.000 Here's somebody of your prominence, Mr. Armstrong, saying what so many of us have seen the signs of, because you know a lot of these people, you're on the inside.

01:20:16.000 We see them pushing it now, openly, and saying, we want to get rid of cash, so you have to keep your money in the bank, so we can basically bail in and take whatever we want.

01:20:28.000 That is frightening and we see Greece as a microcosm No amount of money ever paid into this will prop it up.

01:20:37.000 I mean, is that what you're saying?

01:20:38.000 Nothing will keep Humpty Dumpty together?

01:20:41.000 No, I mean, absolutely every government in the world is following the same exact system, and they just borrow year after year, and they never pay anything off.

01:20:55.000 And when I have met with them, I met with the U.S.

01:20:58.000 Treasury during the Reagan period, and the national debt was a trillion.

01:21:03.000 And that's when Volcker raised interest rates, you know, up to, you know, they were going up to 17%.

01:21:10.000 And I'm looking at this and saying, my God, just put it into a calculator.

01:21:14.000 The national debt's going to be at $6 trillion by the end of the decade.

01:21:17.000 And I met with them and I said, you know, I thought, well, maybe you don't see this or what's, you know, what's going on here?

01:21:23.000 You're crazy with this stuff.

01:21:25.000 And they said, yeah, but Marty, we'll be paying back with cheaper dollars.

01:21:29.000 And so I said, okay, you guys know what you're doing.

01:21:32.000 And Everything is a dog and pony show.

01:21:39.000 I guess what made me so famous was when I got called in for the formation of G5.

01:21:47.000 And I, you know, I first thought I made it.

01:21:49.000 You know, I was one of 35 people in the world being consulted.

01:21:52.000 And then you get there and it's like, okay, how do we save the world economy?

01:21:57.000 Oh, sorry, your 15 minutes is up.

01:22:00.000 And then they stand up and they say this is what we're going to do and we've consulted the top experts and they do nothing that anybody ever told them to do.

01:22:09.000 So it's really a dog and pony show and this whole thing is about really their power and retaining it.

01:22:19.000 Well, we see this not just in economics and not just banking, but in every major sector now, with the EU and the US government and others.

01:22:27.000 They call in the experts, the top people, ignore everything they say, but then say, we've talked to the experts, it's like the Delphi technique, where they'll say, Agenda 21, which is global regulations at the local level, they'll call everyone in, say, thank you, we've heard what you want.

01:22:45.000 And then they'll do basically the opposite of what the people want, but then claim they did what they said.

01:22:51.000 Like you said, it's a dog and pony show, I guess to pacify economists?

01:22:56.000 Or them, when it all crashes, say, well, we consulted them when the economists actually told them different.

01:23:03.000 Well, in 85, after I went through this, you know, I got, you know, I said, the hell with this.

01:23:11.000 And I wrote a letter, you know, directly to the White House.

01:23:14.000 And I said, you people are crazy.

01:23:16.000 You're going to cause a crash within two years.

01:23:19.000 Our biggest problem is those in government, honestly, are lawyers.

01:23:24.000 All right?

01:23:24.000 With no practical experience.

01:23:27.000 And they think that all they have to do is write a law, and then you have to do it.

01:23:34.000 It's not a question of how these things function.

01:23:37.000 It's, well, we'll just make it do with this.

01:23:41.000 In 85, forming the G5, the dollar was up dramatically at that point.

01:23:47.000 The Deutsche Mark was like 4 to the dollar.

01:23:51.000 And they basically just stood up and said, OK, fine, we're going to, you know, we want to see the dollar 40% lower.

01:23:59.000 And that was the 87 crash.

01:24:02.000 And because I went public and warned them they were going to create this crash if they do this, I mean, a common sense.

01:24:10.000 You sold the Japanese, you know, everything from Rockefeller Center on down.

01:24:15.000 And they own, like, more than a third of the U.S.

01:24:17.000 national debt.

01:24:18.000 Now you stand up and you say you're going to devalue it by 40%?

01:24:21.000 Don't you think they would sell?

01:24:24.000 There's no rational discussion with these people.

01:24:28.000 And so they just started selling, and that was your 87 crash.

01:24:31.000 When I got called in for that, I didn't want to go in at all.

01:24:37.000 And they started lobbying my friends and they said, Oh, you know, Marty, you got to do this.

01:24:42.000 I said, you haven't had to deal with these people.

01:24:44.000 I said, you know, it's a waste of time.

01:24:47.000 So they called so many of my friends and they said, look, there's blaming computers.

01:24:52.000 If you don't go in and do this, they're going to come take our computers away.

01:24:55.000 So I went in and honestly, the first thing they say, well, we're going to find the person that, that, you know, shorted this market and made it go down.

01:25:05.000 And I just said, look, Every investigation since 1907 began that way.

01:25:09.000 You never found anybody.

01:25:10.000 I said, that's not what makes markets.

01:25:13.000 There isn't a cow that kicked over the can and burned down St.

01:25:16.000 No, I mean, it's just what happens is, is that you, everybody's wrong.

01:25:22.000 And then for whatever reason, something scares them.

01:25:26.000 Then they tried it to basically sell and there's no bid.

01:25:30.000 That's a flash crash.

01:25:31.000 It market just immediately collapses and It's not that somebody comes in and short and sells, overpowers the market.

01:25:40.000 You know, that's a nice theory, but it's never happened.

01:25:43.000 It's just that the majority are long and they're trying to sell and there's no bid.

01:25:48.000 Let's expand on that then, and then we can go back in time.

01:25:51.000 It's important, obviously, to do that, but looking at current things, how ominous is it?

01:25:55.000 Let's talk about the secret meeting in London to end cash, and along with that now is this huge push in the media to get rid of cash.

01:26:03.000 That's a bold move, but again, let's talk about why they would want to do that, A, but then, B, about the secret meeting.

01:26:11.000 Well, that's how they pulled this off.

01:26:14.000 The media is part of the tool.

01:26:18.000 It was Larry Summers who first came out and said, gee, interest rates should go negative.

01:26:25.000 Now, he wasn't in the administration, he was just at Harvard.

01:26:29.000 So what happens is, they can, if the market rejects it, they can say, oh, that's just him talking.

01:26:36.000 If it accepts it, alright, they're right behind it.

01:26:40.000 So this is how politics really works.

01:26:43.000 So what you're seeing right now, Is the media coming out, yeah, yeah, yeah, we should get rid of cash.

01:26:50.000 You know, and that is the balloon.

01:26:54.000 They're trying to get everybody accustomed to it.

01:26:58.000 And largely so that they can just, in the U.S.

01:27:02.000 they want taxes.

01:27:04.000 My sister just went to go buy a house, alright, to get a mortgage.

01:27:10.000 My mother had written her a check for $400 reimbursing her for some medicine that she picked up.

01:27:17.000 And because that was in her account, she had to explain what the $400 was, why it was given to her.

01:27:24.000 I mean, $400 bucks!

01:27:26.000 I mean, you have to give detail to every dime you have and where it came from.

01:27:32.000 They're training us to live in a 1984 economic society and they admit so they have total control.

01:27:39.000 It's absolute total control and it is scary because I was just over in Europe In Spain, they have basically shut down all the retail gold coin sellers.

01:27:53.000 You can sell your gold, but you can't find bullion coins to buy.

01:27:57.000 Not even the banks sell them anymore.

01:27:58.000 You can in Italy, and you can in Germany.

01:28:02.000 France, they've been shutting it down, and also over in Spain.

01:28:06.000 So they're trying to kill any potential underground economy as well.

01:28:13.000 And it's very interesting, but That's the direction they want to go in.

01:28:19.000 They never see themselves as the problem.

01:28:22.000 You're the problem.

01:28:23.000 And they believe that they can prop up the euro and all these big systems by bringing in economic totalitarianism.

01:28:32.000 Won't that just stall economies even more?

01:28:34.000 The economy, the reason I've been pretty much so vocal, coming from the professional side, liquidity is Absolutely evaporating.

01:28:49.000 And it is scary, because that means when this thing turns down after October, and government bonds, etc., you're going to see a massive, I mean, collapse.

01:29:01.000 Because there's no bid.

01:29:03.000 And it's really, capital is scared to death everywhere.

01:29:08.000 And they've been selling the longer term paper, 10-year bonds, etc.

01:29:13.000 The bonds have crashed.

01:29:14.000 And they're moving everything into like 30-day to 6-month paper max.

01:34:52.000 All of it together, the war on cash, the consolidation, looks like we're going to a feudal system where everything we do is categorized, tracked, and they believe through a command and control economy they can basically prop up anything, which is clearly impossible.

01:35:11.000 And then you talk about a crash coming after October.

01:35:15.000 Can you try to boil down why, when, and what it's going to look like?

01:35:21.000 Each one of these business cycles, it's basically mapping it out, and it's roughly an 8.6-year cycle.

01:35:31.000 And you can go to our site, even Paul Volcker, Wrote a book in 1978 and was called Rediscovery of the Business Cycle, meaning that the era of new economics, the government could absolutely flatline it and create perpetual growth, failed.

01:35:47.000 And so what this is, is that each one, the timing remains the same, but what is actually the focus shifts from one to the other.

01:35:58.000 So one time you're going to have it Stock market, then you're going to have a commodity market, then you're going to have real estate.

01:36:06.000 This particular one, which turns on October 1st, is a concentration of capital in government debt.

01:36:17.000 So, you can see it from the standpoint that interest rates are historically low, you know, at negative levels.

01:36:26.000 So, just ask yourself, traditionally, You know, when the capital is concentrated in the private sector, like a stock market, it crashes, the bonds go up because that's where everybody rushes for what we call the flight to capital, or quality.

01:36:41.000 So what happens when the problem is in government?

01:36:45.000 That's when the private sector takes off.

01:36:50.000 So, we're most likely going to see an initial, you know, false reaction and, like, the share market's down.

01:36:58.000 But there will be the buying opportunity.

01:37:00.000 Because what's crashing at this stage in the game is government debt.

01:37:04.000 I mean, just look at Illinois.

01:37:07.000 I mean, Chicago's a basket case.

01:37:10.000 You have more than 50% of the municipal governments in the United States bankrupt.

01:37:15.000 You have the same problem in Germany.

01:37:18.000 And Germans are looking at adding another 15% tax to bail out the municipal.

01:37:23.000 And so it's everybody's on a bailout boat.

01:37:26.000 It's just the system doesn't work.

01:37:29.000 It was never designed properly.

01:37:31.000 And so what we have is really a meltdown and it's on the governmental side.

01:37:39.000 So normally you say crash and everybody thinks you're talking about the stock market.

01:37:43.000 This time it's bonds.

01:37:45.000 Okay.

01:37:46.000 The reason is much more serious, is that you can take the stock market down 90%.

01:37:51.000 90%.

01:37:52.000 There isn't that much money that resides in the stock market to make that kind of a Great Depression.

01:37:59.000 And what it was, and I can recommend to your readers, go to Herbert Hoover's memoirs.

01:38:06.000 They're free on the Internet at his library.

01:38:08.000 Read 1931.

01:38:09.000 It's exactly what began in 2010.

01:38:13.000 And all the historical books, The Great Trash, Crash by Galbraith, all of them were socialists.

01:38:22.000 So they omitted the fact that all governments defaulted.

01:38:27.000 It's been omitted from the history books.

01:38:29.000 All of 1931, you have Europe defaulted, Britain went into a moratorium, came out, South America defaulted, China defaulted.

01:38:37.000 You can go to eBay and buy some of these bonds if you like.

01:38:39.000 They make very nice, attractive things to hang on the wall.

01:38:44.000 But we are back at a sovereign debt crisis, and that's what this is really about.

01:38:48.000 So the bond market's going to crash, and you're going to see the stock markets and private assets rise.

01:38:55.000 So... Sure.

01:38:56.000 Well, I mean, Zimbabwe, $2 trillion notes are also going to hang on the wall.

01:39:01.000 One's hanging in my office.

01:39:02.000 Are you saying default's the only answer, or it's the answer because it's coming either way?

01:39:08.000 It's basically, I believe, what you're going to end up with is some sort of a new summit, probably after 2017, and they're going to have to do something with the World Monetary System, so another type of Brenton Woods conference.

01:39:25.000 Because everything is just falling apart, and it's not going to be sustainable.

01:39:32.000 You cannot continue to borrow year after year and have no intention of paying back.

01:39:39.000 What you have to understand is, when the gold standard failed in 1971, it altered many things.

01:39:47.000 So, all your economic numbers are kind of bogus.

01:39:51.000 If money was fixed, you don't actually have the number of people standing at the docks counting how many Mercedes were coming in from Germany.

01:40:00.000 Instead, they just looked at the amount of money.

01:40:03.000 If you sent more to Germany, then you must have bought more Mercedes.

01:40:07.000 But when you went to a floating exchange rate, the currency can move 20% up, down, and whatever.

01:40:13.000 You can't measure trade by flows of capital anymore.

01:40:16.000 Obviously, there's so much.

01:40:18.000 I mean, things have been fixed in certain areas for a long time, but this is a layperson studying it with LIBOR coming out and the fines being paid in the billions for fixing the currency exchanges and so much manipulation on the stock market.

01:40:31.000 Is the manipulation getting worse or is it more sophisticated?

01:40:35.000 Or in your view, do we just know more about it today?

01:40:38.000 We just know more about it today.

01:40:41.000 I mean, it's always been there.

01:40:43.000 Manipulation that they do has been around throughout all my career.

01:40:51.000 I mean, largely what they did to me was because, as a journalist, I was reporting all the manipulations.

01:40:58.000 I didn't say who it was, but I had reams of stacks of tapes of every conversation with trading desks, who was behind what, what was going on.

01:41:09.000 The court demanded all that be turned over to Alan Cohen.

01:41:14.000 Alan Cohen was the court receiver.

01:41:16.000 All of them were suddenly destroyed in the World Trade Center, and Alan Cohen becomes a board member of Goldman Sachs.

01:41:22.000 So, you know, what do you want me to say?

01:41:25.000 And when he's working for Goldman Sachs, he's still working for the court simultaneously, which is totally a conflict of interest.

01:41:30.000 But they do whatever they need to do.

01:41:34.000 But this stuff has been going on for a long time.

01:41:37.000 They cannot manipulate the trend.

01:41:39.000 They can manipulate markets within the trend.

01:41:42.000 But they can't actually take a bear market and make it a bull market.

01:41:45.000 And they don't care if things are untenable because they're making so much money because they get to rig the system and make profits and then pass us on all the toxic problems that come along with that.

01:41:57.000 And then you see the war on lemonade stands, the war on underground economies, the war on Amish selling cheese, the war on kids, 11-year-olds being in their own backyards.

01:42:08.000 We see this police state forming not just here but in Europe.

01:42:11.000 And even Forbes said, no, they're getting us ready for a cashless society.

01:42:15.000 They don't want us to be able to basically survive during the collapse.

01:42:20.000 They want to make us go under their social engineering.

01:42:24.000 I don't think they're going to reform it.

01:42:25.000 I think they're going to use this crisis to bring themselves into an even greater level of power.

01:42:35.000 This is, you know, politics.

01:42:39.000 I've worked with these people.

01:42:41.000 You know, for a long time.

01:42:44.000 And something has changed.

01:42:49.000 I mean, these were, back then, they were people that actually cared.

01:42:53.000 But, you know, one thing about Thatcher, you can agree with her or disagree with her, at least you knew where she stood.

01:43:00.000 And today, you don't know where anybody stands, they just move back and forth and lie all the time.

01:43:07.000 Nobody of substance is really willing to step up.

01:43:09.000 So we've lost a moral compass, we're in la-la land.

01:43:12.000 That sounds like it's just megalomania.

01:43:17.000 It's, I mean, you look at what they're doing with the, you know, Obama wants basically dictatorial powers over trade.

01:43:26.000 Congress to surrender everything.

01:43:27.000 I mean, we're living in more of a dictatorship than we are in, and it's not democracy.

01:43:33.000 Democracy means that you should have the right to vote on everything, okay?

01:43:39.000 But we live in a republic, and a republic is basically an oligarchy.

01:43:45.000 So that's the, you know, that's the substantial difference.

01:43:50.000 We're moving more towards a position between oligarchy and dictatorship, practically.

01:43:57.000 It's not just Obama, and if you look carefully and closely, you'll see a lot of the people that are there are the same people under Bush.

01:44:06.000 The underbelly doesn't change, just the heads change.

01:44:10.000 And largely it's, I mean, I can tell you this.

01:44:19.000 In the 90s, Republicans used to have me go meet people who were going to run for president, or wanted to.

01:44:26.000 I flew out, met with the governor of Oklahoma, etc.

01:44:30.000 And it was really me supposed to be vetting them out.

01:44:34.000 And they would tell them I was there to explain the world economy, but when I got back, what do you think?

01:44:40.000 You think he can handle the job?

01:57:01.000 They said, if they would just lend money, like the CDOs, etc., but then they would resell it.
