00:00:23.940 who has a new exclusive scoop on how, you guessed it,
00:00:26.980 Joe Biden's State Department, where some of the most radicals of the radicals,
00:00:30.480 they're always embedded there, are coming after, if I got this right,
00:00:34.060 conservative news outlets trying to censor them like they do,
00:00:37.100 I'm sure, everyone who watches this show.
00:00:38.860 Gabe, can you walk us through your news story?
00:00:41.620 Yeah, thanks for having me.
00:00:42.880 So the House Small Business Committee about a year ago opened an investigation
00:00:47.100 following several Washington Examiner reports where I work on how the Global Disinformation Index,
00:00:54.220 a London-based NGO, was awarded $100,000 from the State Department.
00:01:00.060 And the reason that was notable is because the Global Engagement Center,
00:01:03.440 the entity that delivered that money from the State Department,
00:01:06.680 is only intended to be involved in foreign affairs.
00:01:10.580 But the Global Disinformation Index, the entity that received that contract,
00:01:15.000 essentially crafted a blacklist that they used to feed to advertising companies with the intent of
00:01:22.800 defunding and shutting down news companies, places like the Washington Examiner,
00:01:27.020 places like the Daily Call or Town Hall, places like Real America's Voice.
00:01:30.280 So that prompted this investigation to open.
00:01:32.780 And what we learned, actually, through the congressional inquiry that began is a new report
00:01:37.600 that came out that Congress had provided to our outlet that we published that shows
00:01:42.560 that the State Department's Global Engagement Center was involved in a secretive group chat
00:01:47.820 with Kate Starbird, a University of Washington professor known kind of under fire from the right
00:01:53.960 for censorship, Clemson University, the Pointer Institute, and Snopes.
00:01:59.120 And in that group chat, they essentially, an email server, rather, Google groups,
00:02:03.780 they discussed ways in which, or rather specifically, they discussed their disdain for the Daily Caller.
00:02:11.100 And they alleged it was a outlet of white supremacy and were critiquing conservative media.
00:02:19.140 But the real thing is actually this.
00:02:21.380 It's not what they were saying in this chat.
00:02:23.940 Certainly, we might take issue with that.
00:02:25.660 The issue is that the State Department at all would be involved in a group chat
00:02:30.540 discussing domestic news outlets because they have a strict mandate to be involved in international affairs.
00:02:36.760 There's, of course, news breaking today that Australia is reconsidering instituting what is about a 5% fine
00:02:44.660 on the revenue of social media platforms if they don't, you know, censor their content in accordance with the,
00:02:49.940 I guess, similarly, if not even further to the left, radicals in the Australian government.
00:02:54.100 But I want to draw the through line here because in that story, the buried lead being that the issues that they're most concerned about
00:03:01.640 were election integrity and public health, i.e., you know, COVID and vaccines.
00:03:05.820 So what are the sort of topics that you think that they're really honing in on and focusing on going after just from your reporting?
00:03:12.560 Yeah, so what we have seen specifically with the Global Disinformation Index, the British group at the center of this investigation,
00:03:22.460 are things like election integrity, COVID-19 or, well, that was a major topic, but vaccines in general,
00:03:30.080 or even just things such as the transgender agenda.
00:03:34.460 We actually saw that the Global Disinformation Index, the State Department-funded entity,
00:03:39.560 flagged several just opinion articles that they disagreed with.
00:03:44.120 They even flagged something as disinformation.
00:03:46.620 That was a social science research study saying that, on average, Republicans were more happy and satisfied with their lives than Democrats.
00:03:56.140 Apparently, that's disinformation, even though it's a social science statistic.
00:03:59.920 But I guess the point, rather, is that they're flagging news outlets that aren't—they're flagging even just opinions they disagree with.
00:04:08.120 And that really is also the heart of the issue.
00:04:11.560 Well, and I want to sort of broaden the critique out.
00:04:13.900 We always say on this show, you know, the censorship industrial complex, it is the Praetorian Guard, right, for the Biden regime.
00:04:19.840 The best example being the Russian disinformation letter about Hunter Biden's hard drive.
00:04:23.540 But we see the FBI sort of up to their same old tricks.
00:04:26.300 You had another great story linking Tim Waltz to, believe it or not, the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
00:04:31.560 I guess we said COVID, so we'll go there.
00:04:33.720 I'd love if you could walk the audience through that story.
00:04:36.260 But the more important part being that the FBI has refused to cooperate with congressional investigators, i.e.
00:04:43.380 Jim Comer, in terms of trying to get documents on this story and other concerning ties between the CCP and Tim Waltz.
00:04:52.500 Yeah, that's right.
00:04:53.220 So last week we reported at the Examiner that as the governor of Minnesota and through his time in Congress, Tim Waltz has frequently promoted and attended meetings and actually secured funding for an entity in Minnesota called the Hormel Institute.
00:05:10.240 It's a research institute.
00:05:12.220 And what we found is that the Hormel Institute has direct ties to China's government.
00:05:17.320 It actually partners frequently on academic journal studies with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, of course, a Chinese government-run institute at the center of the COVID-19 lab leak theory, something the FBI determined last year was the most probable cause of the origin of COVID-19.
00:05:35.820 Not only that, but actually Fox News had reported prior to Revelation, the Examiner, that the Hormel Institute, the entity that Tim Waltz promoted, also has collaborated with Beijing Genomics Institute, which is a Chinese military-backed company, something that the Pentagon actually early this year made that designation.
00:05:55.100 And so, by the way, adding to further, the executive director who recently resigned from the Hormel Institute, the entity, again, that Tim Waltz awarded money to, he resigned in 2019 from that group because the FBI began investigating him and his failure to report foreign backing on academic grants.
00:06:18.460 All that is to say, the group that Tim Waltz awarded money to has ties to China's government.
00:06:24.100 As a result of that, today, we had reported that James Comer, the House Oversight Committee chairman, is attempting to get documents from the FBI on the entities that are linked here.
00:06:40.020 But, again, Comer actually isn't solely looking just at the Hormel Institute.
00:06:45.200 He's also looking at the fact that there's reporting that Tim Waltz has taken 30 trips to China over the years, including for his honeymoon.
00:06:53.640 He's often praised, been sympathetic to China.
00:06:57.540 And he also took a paid teaching fellowship in the past in China and also took students on a partially Chinese government state-funded trip.
00:07:08.400 And so Comer listed a deadline of September 19th.
00:07:12.840 It's very rare that the FBI or any agencies comply with these lawmakers, but it'll be interesting to see if it heads to subpoena territory for sure.
00:07:22.960 And, Gabe, just give me a minute or two.
00:07:24.960 Obviously, we see, you know, foreign election interference is now not just a national emergency, but seems to be the only talking point that the Biden regime, especially the DOJ, has.
00:07:34.920 But when you see this, you know, agitation, right, in the vein of foreign election interference, Russia, Russia, Russia, and we just laid out, whether it's, you know, the Brits and the Global Disinformation Index, China and their, you know, vast United Front Work Department, what they've got going on here.
00:07:49.200 As an investigative reporter, I mean, what would you say to the Biden DOJ if they want to get serious about foreign election interference?
00:07:55.160 Well, look, I mean, I think our reporting and other outlets have clearly walked through examples of Tim Walz's ties to China.
00:08:04.160 I would even note that we reported earlier, when Tim Walz was just announced as the VP nominee, that he has a longstanding relationship with a Muslim cleric who has a history of promoting anti-Semitic content on social media, shared a pro-Hamas, a literal, actually, Hamas official press release on his Facebook once, shared a pro-Hitler movie on his Facebook as well.
00:08:29.340 So there's foreign influence ties for a lot of lawmakers, certainly Tim Walz we've found.
00:08:34.600 You know, I can't suggest policies, make policy suggestions for the Biden administration, but I certainly think it's, you know, Americans have taken an interest in a lot of these foreign influence stories about Tim Walz.
00:08:45.960 And James Comer is just reacting to a lot of the concerns that have been to our stories and some other outlets, such as Phil Lenczewski at The Daily Caller has a fantastic story today about Tim Walz appointed an individual on a commission who has close ties to China's government.
00:09:05.980 That's the kind of stuff that presumably James Comer would be looking into and something Americans clearly were interested in today.

00:20:37.440 of election workers, turnover rates that we haven't seen since the beginning of this country.

00:20:50.820 that these shortages in election workers are going to cause, quote, mistakes in those election

00:22:10.880 The problem is, is the whole case has been tainted from the grand jury proceedings on.
00:22:16.700 They must bring a different, bring in a different prosecutor from a different jurisdiction, and then
00:22:24.040 that prosecutor can figure out whether he or she wants to continue and refile these bogus,

00:22:35.980 So link this to the press conference that we, they turned it into that, that Merrick Garland
00:22:40.700 held today with, I think, telegraphing the signs to the MAGA movement, don't get involved

00:22:48.380 Well, the cognitive distance and the Trump derangement is unreal with Merrick Garland.
00:22:57.340 For him to come out there and say that he does not want people to politicize and weaponize
00:23:04.200 the justice system after what he's done over the last three and a half years, Merrick Garland

00:23:11.560 If he's threatening people like me and others for criticizing his grotesque politicization
00:23:18.040 and weaponization of our intel agencies and our law enforcement to go after Trump, his top

00:23:34.000 6th supporters, the Supreme Court of the United States and the Fisher decision held that the
00:23:39.680 Biden-Kamala Justice Department, led by Merrick Garland, illegally contorted, essentially politicized
00:23:47.060 and weaponized a post-Enron obstruction of justice statutes intended for corporate fraud
00:23:53.180 that they used against Trump and his supporters on January 6th.
00:23:57.300 They've, Merrick Garland sicked the FBI after parents outraged by gender chaos in schools and
00:24:03.120 the resulting rapes in high school bathrooms.
00:24:05.600 They are putting in prison 75-year-old pro-life Christians for praying in abortion centers while
00:24:12.780 they give amnesty to the Bidens.

00:30:25.420 What we found is that Governor Waltz has appointed an individual whose name is Chang Wang to serve
00:30:34.020 on the Council on Asian Pacific Minnesotans, an executive branch position that advises the
00:30:42.480 governor and the legislature.
00:30:43.700 And as it turns out, this individual, Mr. Wang, has now since apparently 2007 also been a member
00:30:51.880 of an organization called the China Association for Promoting Democracy.
00:30:56.380 So what is this?
00:30:57.520 It turns out that this organization is a minor political party in China that is loyal to the
00:31:04.800 Chinese Communist Party.
00:31:05.780 And it is more or less what we could think of as controlled opposition.
00:31:09.040 It's been this way since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949.
00:31:12.420 And their role is to serve as intellectuals.
00:31:19.220 And this individual particularly is an attorney in the United States.
00:31:23.780 He's in Minnesota and has now served on this executive branch position since 2000.
00:31:32.400 He was reappointed in 2001 and he will serve until 2025.
00:31:37.700 This specific council last year spent, I believe, around half a million dollars of, you know,
00:31:46.420 what appears to be taxpayer dollars.
00:31:48.840 So it's not an insignificant position.
00:31:51.000 And given what we've seen occur in other parts of the country, there are certainly concerns that
00:31:57.740 such an individual would have a position of any type in our government.
00:32:01.360 And just give me a minute, because I think you're obviously an expert in Chinese Communist Party
00:32:07.300 foreign influence operations.
00:32:08.960 But I always joke that, you know, once you go CCP, you don't go back, right?
00:32:12.860 They're radioactive in terms of their outreach to politicians.
00:32:15.900 They expect an ROI when they invest in these politicians.
00:32:19.120 Just from your general reporting, how much of an investment do you think they have put into Tim Walls?
00:32:24.800 It's very interesting to think about this individual in particular, given his extremely unique relationship
00:32:35.660 with the country traveling there.
00:32:37.700 As, you know, your last guest said, and I've looked into Mr. Waltz as well.
00:32:45.260 You know, he's been now going back and forth for some 30 years or whatever.
00:32:50.920 And it's very difficult to make sense of what all might have occurred.

00:32:58.740 And the ones that are available certainly raise a lot of red flags.
00:33:04.040 And so the issue is that what we know leads us to believe that there is a transactional relationship
00:33:13.340 between the governor and has been between the governor and the Chinese government at some level.
00:33:19.340 You know, in the past reports showing that the Chinese government was paying for, you know,
00:33:25.360 trips for students to go overseas and whatnot.
00:33:28.700 And this is, you know, textbook influence operation activity with the exchanges and whatnot.
00:33:33.420 You've done a lot of reporting of that nature in the past.
00:33:36.300 So we can't say for sure.
00:33:38.780 But I guess the litmus test here is that if I were to come to you and show you that someone
00:33:47.440 that you're working with was of, you know, that nature, I imagine that you would part ways.
00:33:53.120 You know, you might even thank the person for bringing that to your attention.
00:33:57.760 Whereas that's not what we're seeing with Governor Waltz.
00:34:00.980 It doesn't seem like he's, you know, reconsidering any of these things.
00:34:05.080 No, I certainly wouldn't choose him as my VP unless I guess maybe that's the new strapline

00:34:26.640 But the you uncovered is linked to the spy, sort of, you know, policy influencer embed that

00:34:56.640 Caught on tape praising a Chinese Communist Party.
00:35:26.620 And tell us that, Philip, can you walk us through who this individual is, who she's
00:35:30.300 praising, and her affiliations?

00:35:33.780 And so out of all the reporting that we've done, you know, over the summer, to me, this
00:35:38.200 is the most damning.

00:35:44.500 And the issue here is this, that in all the stories that we're talking about, even with
00:35:48.580 Governor Waltz in the past, there's an organization behind the scenes called the United Front Work
00:35:52.940 Department that is operating with some of the individuals they're in contact with.
00:35:56.900 And in the clip that you just saw, Representative Grace Meng, who represents the 6th Congressional
00:36:03.600 District there in New York, at the time she had just been elected to the New York State
00:36:09.600 Assembly.
00:36:10.580 And she is at a welcome banquet for the head of this organization called the All-China
00:36:15.980 Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, which is an agency of the aforementioned United
00:36:19.940 Front Work Department.
00:36:21.280 So it's an agency of a spy agency.
00:36:24.240 And during this event, we see Grace Meng delivering a speech in Chinese that she's the second person
00:36:33.480 to speak at this event after the visiting chairman, who also happens to be a member of the CCP
00:36:41.000 Central Committee at this time, which is the top, you know, highest echelons of the party.
00:36:45.980 And in this, a couple things to flag.
00:36:47.880 Number one, she refers to this gentleman as our chairman.
00:36:50.800 Number two, she then praises him for taking care of us and for his leadership.
00:36:56.700 It just sort of happens that this organization to which he belongs, the All-China Federation
00:37:01.240 of Returned Overseas, is the very same organization that Linda Sun, who I believe is actually shown
00:37:07.300 in some of the video there.
00:37:09.440 Linda Sun is later recruited into this organization.
00:37:12.260 And this same organization, again, I'll say it, the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas
00:37:16.480 Chinese, was also present in 2018 when Governor Waltz, in September there, attended a ballet
00:37:24.800 at the University of Minnesota and was on stage.

00:37:30.380 So we see sort of the tentacles across time, all the way back to 2008.
00:37:35.280 Then we see it in 2019 with Linda Sun being recruited.
