00:00:00.000 I have been going back and forth with the Daily Wire. I actually couldn't believe it. I have had
00:00:05.220 the entire Daily Wire respond to good old Pearl, to good old Pearl. So I've not only had Jeremy
00:00:12.220 Boring, Boring, the CEO of the Daily Wire. Okay. Anyone that watches me knows I'm not a names
00:00:19.000 person. This isn't even supposed to be like a rude thing. Okay. Matt Walsh responded to me.
00:00:24.280 Ben Shapiro responded to me. Oh, and even Matt Walsh's wife responded to me. I couldn't believe
00:00:32.240 it. Guys, I was like, what on earth is going on? Pearl's tweet. I'm just tweeting away.
00:00:37.720 And so the original tweet that sparked this entire conversation was I pointed out that all of the
00:00:44.400 men that really pushed marriage as a solution were not old enough to really understand the
00:00:49.620 realities of men in this country. And I also pointed out that typically wealthy men have a
00:00:54.800 different experience in marriage. Although I can also point to many, many wealthy men that have
00:01:00.000 gotten absolutely screwed in divorce. And what conclusions I've come to from doing shows with
00:01:05.360 600, 700 plus guests on them, interviewing countless men, and really getting messages and
00:01:11.020 calls daily about this stuff, is that I really think that rich men have a different reality than
00:01:17.240 the average middle-class American workers. Rich men are more likely to get respect from their
00:01:22.280 wives. They also have a lower divorce rate. And typically, from my experience, when wealthy men
00:01:28.720 get divorced, and I could still give you so many instances where this is not the case, but in general,
00:01:36.840 they have an easier time after divorce. They can date again and be okay. They typically, even if their
00:01:42.500 wife takes a bunch of their money, they're usually very good at making money. And the real men that are
00:01:48.220 truly affected by this are, one, the men that cannot fight false allegations in court, and really the men
00:01:55.400 that don't recover financially ever again. That worked the same, I don't know, factory job, mechanic job,
00:02:02.020 for 20, 25 years, and then had a woman financially ruin them, only for them to never recover.
00:02:08.100 A lot of these men end up committing suicide. My point is more, I see general trends. And the
00:02:14.080 general trend is that older men tend to understand more the realities of what I'm talking about.
00:02:20.560 So Andrew Klavan, another social commentator for the Daily Wire, also weighed in. Now, I wanted to
00:02:26.300 point something out that Andrew is 69 years old, so he is in the older guy category that I was talking
00:02:32.600 about. Now, let's see what he has to say.
00:02:35.300 So there's a big debate that the Daily Wire is involved in, in a big way, this provocateur,
00:02:41.680 Hannah Pearl Davis. She's sometimes called the female Andrew Tate, because she's kind of down
00:02:47.420 on women. She disses women a lot. And she's been pointing out that feminists in the courts have
00:02:51.720 ruined marriage, and guys shouldn't get married. And Ben and Walsh and even Jeremy have all weighed in
00:02:55.960 opposing her. And she works the way provocateurs work. They all make these extreme statements.
00:03:02.580 Andrew Tate does this too. Nick Fuentes does it. And when they're attacked, when people say,
00:03:07.740 that's a really horrible thing to say, they explain their extreme statements away. And their followers
00:03:12.380 pretend to believe the explanation while they really believe the extreme statements. So they say,
00:03:17.120 women are stupid. And you say, well, that's a ridiculous thing to say. And then they say,
00:03:20.980 well, what I meant by that is they don't always make the right decisions. And everybody says,
00:03:24.300 see, you know, he doesn't really mean that. But what they really think is that women are stupid.
00:03:27.980 So Pearl has been complaining. She complained on Twitter that only young guys like marriage. And
00:03:33.320 she called out Ben and Walsh and I think Jeremy. And somebody said, well, what about Clavin? And so
00:03:38.180 I answered, I've been blissfully married for 43 years. My wife, of course, has been trying to escape,
00:03:43.520 but I won't let her because it's been bliss for me. But I'm very cognizant that this is a special
00:03:48.020 blessing in my life. I have a wonderful wife, truly. She gave me a home. She mothered our children.
00:03:53.020 She nurtured my career. She believed in me when I had nothing. And she's the absolute love of my
00:03:59.160 life. And I'm not, that's not something I'm just saying. Truly, if I had the time that I have spent
00:04:03.280 making love to that woman, if I had used it more productively, I would be an astrophysicist today,
00:04:07.700 which I don't want to be. So it's actually fine. So, but not everyone gets to marry that kind of
00:04:12.440 wife, you know, and no one else can get the best wife because I've got her. So I kind of am a little
00:04:17.800 bit hesitant to say, oh yes, get married because it's a great thing. Now, Pearl's point, which I think
00:04:22.800 you know, she has a point when she gets to the explanation part, when she stopped provoking you.
00:04:27.700 Some of the stuff she says has a point. She says that feminists have ruined marriage. She says a lot
00:04:32.600 of marriages fail. She's put the number at like 50%, but it's been falling steadily. It's now around
00:04:38.000 40%. And for certain cohorts, it's much lower than that. But she points out that in divorce, men get
00:04:44.460 killed by the courts and by divorce laws. Here's cut seven. Many of these guys get so stressed out,
00:04:49.880 they lose their jobs because, or they have astronomical court fees, child support, all that
00:04:57.520 you know, and a lot of guys will spend, you know, the average guy makes what 50 K a year guys will
00:05:03.820 spend a hundred, 150 K in court fees just to not get their kids. And the thing is you can take money
00:05:10.500 from a guy, but there is something about a man who is so desperate to see his child. Like it is the
00:05:19.220 saddest thing you have ever seen where his child will be a mile from him and he hasn't seen him
00:05:25.740 in two years. So our point is that if 40% of marriages fail, and then it's this misery because
00:05:30.220 the courts destroy you, why would you even take that chance? Now I myself have pointed out something
00:05:36.240 else long before there was a Pearl Davis. You know, there's old t-shirts that they have that says
00:05:40.960 a game over, you know, and they'll have a cartoon and they'll show a happy bride and a frowning groom.
00:05:45.100 And the point is that marriage is for women, not men. And when men are caught there, you know, there's,
00:05:50.360 these are a lot of old 40 songs are about this. Love is the tender trap and you're making whoopee,
00:05:55.740 you know, you want to make whoopee, but you wind up washing dishes and baby clothes.
00:05:58.980 And there's no reason not to take that complaint seriously. It wouldn't be a meme if it weren't
00:06:06.660 an actual serious thing that our form of marriage was invented by the Catholic church to protect
00:06:12.040 women. Feminists who say, oh, it was slavery. No, it was to protect women. And a man sacrifices
00:06:18.640 his deep urge for freedom and sexual variety and sexual adventure and other kinds of adventure.
00:06:24.360 So a woman can indulge her deep urge to have children in a protected and supported environment
00:06:29.940 with him supporting her and making sure she is all right. In return for that sacrifice in the old
00:06:35.860 days, each man received a little kingdom. I received a little kingdom when I got married. I got family.
00:06:41.760 I was the head of that family. I got respect. I got support for my professional work. And, and I was
00:06:46.900 surrounded by a home, which I would never have had. I would always been a drifter if I hadn't fallen
00:06:51.500 in love with the right woman. Pearl is right about this. That feminism has destroyed marriage
00:06:57.760 in the sense that men are expected to sacrifice a freedom that is deeply important to them, not
00:07:03.400 just sexual freedom, but it's the freedom to not know what they're going to be doing next and who
00:07:07.800 they're going to be and not to be responsible to anybody. And they get absolutely nothing in return.
00:07:14.140 And here is the whole thing about, about talking about marriage.
00:07:20.600 If we're not going to be honest about it, then, and it's worthwhile, we can't save it. Because one
00:07:27.440 of the other things I didn't think when I left my wife is, ooh, marrying this woman would be good
00:07:32.420 for society. So I'm going to do that. I didn't think that at all. I didn't even think it would be
00:07:36.260 good for me. I thought it was something I wanted to do. But because no one can say the words that
00:07:41.480 conservatives are right, but no one can say the words that male-female marriage is the pinnacle
00:07:45.680 of human relationship. That is basically what we've got going for us, the center of our society.
00:07:50.840 We have to live in lies. And what happens when you live in lies is there are these invisible brick
00:07:55.420 walls and you keep bumping into them because nobody can say there's a brick wall. It's the emperor's
00:08:01.160 brick wall, right? If nobody says, you know, don't go that way because you're going to fall off the
00:08:07.580 cliff. You go that way and then people fall off the cliff. And what happens? Everybody gets angry.
00:08:12.220 And if that's not a description of the society we're in today where, you know, people like Pearl
00:08:18.640 Davis, and again, she's a provocateur. She says stupid stuff. She said anti-Semitic stuff. I think
00:08:23.460 she hung around with Nick Fuentes for a while. She got some of that poison in her. You know, so she just
00:08:27.520 says things that I think get her clicks and all this. But when you clear all that away, she is making a
00:08:33.000 point that the institution of marriage as it is conceived by the general society, as it's conceived
00:08:38.500 by the media, as it's conceived by the government, as it's conceived by all the people who are doing
00:08:42.800 all the talking is not something that is necessarily appealing, especially for men. And so the men are
00:08:51.080 sitting around going, why should I do this? And when you tell them, oh, it's because it's Jesus'
00:08:54.440 relationship with the church or it's good for society, you're telling them absolutely nothing.
00:08:58.860 So I want to talk about a couple things. So first of all, he calls me a provocateur because I say women
00:09:05.780 are dumb. No, I mean that. I really do. By and large, guys, if you had to pick 10 women to solve a
00:09:15.220 problem or 10 men to solve a problem, the problem with us women, as we just start like crying about the
00:09:22.440 problem, we don't go to solve it. The men actually try to solve the problem. So yeah, no, I'm serious.
00:09:27.680 I'm dead. Call that provocative. But I really think this is just basic truths. Okay. Do I think
00:09:34.680 every woman is stupid? Of course not. But by and large, when you look at the decisions we make,
00:09:39.300 they're by and large stupid. So, I mean, you might not like how that makes you feel, you know, but I
00:09:46.780 think by and large, if all the women went home tomorrow, the workforce would be more productive.
00:09:51.380 You know, they could fire all the HR departments, all the paperwork would go away. I really, yeah. And
00:09:57.620 sorry, I just, I think that's true.
