Kamala Harris and her father, Donald J. J.J. Harris, joins us on the show to talk about her new book, Kamala: The Realest Person in the Room, and how she got her start in politics.
00:02:19.000It's what we use in the office every day now.
00:02:21.000I don't drink coffee, but I know that if I bring coffee to you, you're going to give me... It doesn't matter if, like, my wife made it, you'll be like, well, this is terrible.
00:03:02.000Lightoffcredit.com slash Mug Club, or Everything goes away, including the free content, but the reason we wanted to be with you today, and we thought this had to be out there for everybody and Mug Club, I hope you understand, you can let us know in chat, is because Kamala Harris, and I may say Kamala, I may say Kamala, I'm keeping you on your toes, she gave her first interview yesterday at
00:03:39.000So we are going to be fact-checking Kamala Harris, also Tim Walz, and we also do have later on a special guest, actually, Kamala Harris's father, Donald J. Harris.
00:03:48.000That is his actual name, Donald J. Harris.
00:03:51.000He is going to be on the program to comment on this and a whole lot more.
00:04:42.000I was watching this live last night, and you know, I have a channel where I can talk with people here, and I was like, you know what, I'm just gonna put my notes down in real time, and then it just descended into... I was furious.
00:09:35.000While I was watching it last night, and I told you guys, it started off, to be fair, they will show clips, the left, and they will show clips of Dana Bash being a little bit tough on her.
00:11:29.000It's like if you bought a box of Tim Walz and it was like, and now with 20% more Tim Walz, you'd be like, They cut out 33% of the interview.
00:13:08.000Day one, it's going to be about, one, implementing my plan for what I call an opportunity economy.
00:13:13.000I've already laid out a number of proposals in that regard, which include what we're going to do to bring down the cost of everyday goods, what we're going to do to invest in American small businesses, what we're going to do to invest in families, for example, extending the child tax credit.
00:13:30.000to $6,000 for families for the first year of their child's life to help them buy a car seat, to help them buy baby clothes, a crib.
00:13:37.000There's the work that we're going to do that is about investing in the American family around affordable housing, a big issue in our country right now.
00:13:47.000So there are a number of things on day one.
00:13:49.000Okay, so Dana Bash didn't press any more after that.
00:13:53.000And I don't know if you know this, but the whole idea of a child tax credit encouraging families and making it more affordable to have a family, this was something that J.D.
00:15:28.000Before we get to the fact check, and I want to please share, let people know, because we are going to dismantle everything that she said, but it is very difficult to do because there was so much word salad being implemented.
00:15:43.000Here's a perfect example when she was asked about the climate and fracking, all of it.
00:15:52.000I have always believed, and I have worked on it, that the climate crisis is real, that it is an urgent matter, to which we should apply metrics that include holding ourselves to deadlines around time.
00:16:07.000We did that with the Inflation Reduction Act.
00:16:10.000That brings us to the word of the day!
00:18:49.000One of your campaign themes is we're not going back.
00:18:52.000But I wonder what you say to voters who do want to go back when it comes to the economy specifically, because their groceries were less expensive, housing was more affordable when Donald Trump was president.
00:19:06.000Well, let's start with the fact that when Joe Biden and I came in office, during the height of a pandemic, we saw over 10 million jobs were lost.
00:19:18.000People, I mean, literally we were all tracking the numbers.
00:19:22.000Hundreds of people a day were dying because of COVID.
00:19:55.000The economy was rebounding under Donald Trump, and when she says mismanagement, it was the Democrats who wanted to extend lockdowns, and Donald Trump helped improve our economy, in spite of them trying to kneecap it.
00:20:07.000So, I don't know if you remember this, April 2020, Donald Trump told states that they could start opening up.
00:20:37.000Keep in mind, this is at a time when a novel virus that came from a lab... I'm sorry, wet market, because someone ate a bat.
00:20:44.000Required due to pressure from international communities things like the WHO by extension the UN you saw our show yesterday saying you have to lock down you have to shut down your economy so unemployment did go up to 14.8 percent when he left office January 2021 the unemployment rate had already gone down to 6.4 percent okay so there was already a trend 14 he slashed that to less than half let's look at GDP Let's look at Q2 of 2020.
00:22:49.000Then, in January, that's when Biden and Harris signed the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, and the result was in June of 2022.
00:23:00.000June of 2022, 9.1% inflation that month.
00:23:04.000That's a 40-year high with an overall inflation rate of over 20% under Biden, which is the worst that anyone born post-1970 has seen, and arguably even certainly the Carter years.
00:23:18.000By the way, after the rescue plan in what I think it was Q2 of 2022, or maybe it was Q1 of 2022, he had negative 1.4% GDP growth.
00:23:26.000He had already been put back on track and then for no reason whatsoever, it's now negative.
00:24:21.000Manufacturing jobs is another thing that she discussed here, which is, her claim is patently false.
00:24:29.000She says, she being Kamala, that they created 800,000 new manufacturing jobs.
00:24:36.000It's not even close, but watch her say it.
00:24:38.000When we do what we have done to invest in the American people in bringing manufacturing back to the United States so that we created over 800,000 new manufacturing jobs, bringing business back to America.
00:25:39.000Well, I think over a hundred thousand of those manufacturing jobs had to be revised down because they missed on the numbers by almost a million total jobs.
00:26:16.000Is that Kamala was the one, or Biden and their administration, they're one and the same, don't separate them, who capped insulin prices and that Trump was never able to get Medicare to negotiate drug prices.
00:26:29.000We were the ones who did a lot of great work.
00:27:44.000She tries to talk about Medicare there.
00:27:47.000Trump did try to allow Medicare to negotiate prices.
00:27:51.000And he said this, by the way, while he was signing four executive orders on this very issue alone.
00:27:56.000He said, Under our ridiculous system, which has been broken for decades, broken for decades, folks, we aren't even allowed to negotiate the price of drugs.
00:28:57.000No, and I made that clear on the debate stage in 2020, that I would not ban fracking.
00:29:04.000As vice president, I did not ban fracking.
00:29:06.000As president, I will not ban fracking.
00:29:09.000In 2019, I believe, at a town hall, you said, you were asked, would you commit to implementing a federal ban on fracking on your first day in office?
00:29:18.000And you said, there's no question I'm in favor of banning fracking.
00:31:55.000I have a problem with lies by omission, as you see on CNN, and I have a problem with really just pandering to whoever's in the audience, because it's like trying to grab one of those things you get at the dollar store that keeps coming out of your hands that you can't squeeze.
00:32:46.000And of course, it's blame Trump, blame Trump, blame Trump.
00:32:48.000This one is paper thin, we all know it, but she says that actually she's pro-enforcement, but she's the one who's actually strict on the border.
00:32:54.000Trump was the one who ruined any progress on the border.
00:32:57.000During the Biden-Harris administration, there were record numbers of illegal border crossings.
00:33:03.000Why did the Biden-Harris administration wait three and a half years to implement sweeping asylum restrictions?
00:33:09.000Joe Biden and I, and our administration, worked with members of the United States Congress on an immigration issue that is very significant to the American people and to our security, which is the border.
00:33:22.000And through bipartisan work, including some of the most conservative members of the United States Congress, a bill was crafted, which we supported, which I support.
00:33:34.000And Donald Trump got word of this bill that would have contributed to securing our border.
00:33:40.000And because he believes that it would not have helped him politically, he told his folks in Congress, don't put it forward.
00:33:51.000So, before we get to the truth here, assuming you believe everything that she just said, which you shouldn't, think of how terrified they are of Donald Trump.
00:34:00.000That's why officials at the UN are terrified of Donald Trump becoming president, which they said yesterday, if you didn't see the Mug Club undercover work.
00:34:09.000And then there were even conservatives in Congress who liked the bill.
00:34:13.000Donald Trump, a man not in office, a man who's been indicted, a man who you have tried to put in prison, who has been banned from all mainstream social media, was the one who killed it.
00:34:27.000What is he, the nothing from The NeverEnding Story?
00:34:31.000They're making it out to be an all-powerful deity, like he's Thanos!
00:34:36.000It's because it's the only leg they have to stand on.
00:34:37.000And here's the truth, okay, as it relates to, it was not a border security bill.
00:34:42.000For those of you who've forgotten, there was $60 billion in that bill for Ukraine, $20 billion for the border, and none of it, not a dollar, was going to go to the wall, or even border security, as Speaker Mike Johnson clarified.
00:34:55.000On page 116 of the bill, it endorses the Biden administration's catch and release policy, endorses it, by allowing illegals to be, quote, released from physical custody, unquote.
00:35:06.000Instead of deciding asylum on a case-by-case basis, as the law specifically states currently, what they would do is just engage in more of these large-scale releases.
00:35:19.000We try to offer solutions here on this show, not just bitch, and of course we try and provide you information so you can fact check these people yourself and you can have these conversations with your friends.
00:35:50.000Okay, so no bill until, yep, we're going to get rid of violent felons who have no business being here, send them back to their countries, they can do whatever they want, and we're going to have a wall, some kind of whatever it is, people there, cyber security, whatever is necessary.
00:36:08.000But the bill needs to start with, oh, you're here and you're caught as a criminal, not including the crime of coming here illegally, boom, gone.
00:37:02.000And it's mostly a ceremonial job, Vice President, really.
00:37:06.000But she managed to screw that up, too.
00:37:09.000Because she hasn't even been intercontinental champ.
00:37:11.000She's been champion of nothing when she was Bordezar.
00:37:14.000She told people, you know, I ain't been to Europe.
00:37:17.000That's because they don't want you there neither, Kamalai.
00:37:20.000But I'll tell you why she didn't actually go down to the border, when she had under her watch over 7.4 million illegal b*****s coming on over.
00:38:44.000Here's the claim that she made on the Middle East and Israel.
00:38:50.000I remain committed, since I've been on October 8th, to what we must do to work toward a two-state solution, where Israel is secure and in equal measure, the Palestinians have security and self-determination and dignity.
00:39:06.000Well, the problem is the self-determination.
00:39:09.000They determined that they wanted to be governed by Hamas.
00:42:29.000You had people who didn't realize Biden's mental decline until that night of the debate.
00:42:36.000That is an act of dishonesty perpetrated against the American people that I don't know we've ever, I've never seen in my lifetime, maybe the Hunter Biden laptop, but the fact that any Americans On that first debate, said, wait, what?
00:43:04.000By the way, that clip I think is going to come back to haunt her massively.
00:43:08.000The lying to the American people for effectively four years running in the campaign and then being in office up to now is something that I don't think that they will let her get out from under because they know.
00:43:20.000Anyone here had family members with dementia or Alzheimer's?
00:43:26.000It was towards the end, so I didn't spend a lot of time with it, but I've also known, had very close friends who I had to deal with it for years.
00:45:11.000Here we will actually have the real-time data news wires and third-party data analysts so we can actually call and dispute states.
00:45:18.000We will have investigative journalists on the ground in every major city of every major swing state across the country.
00:45:24.000You will have the live electoral integrity map that you can interact with where you can see states being called and you can also see any shenanigans taking place geotagged in real time and even go out yourself to take part.
00:45:35.000This Is a team of very elite people here who will be doing the work, laying the foundation, and then crowdsourcing from you.
00:46:55.000So here to give us his thoughts is actually Kamala's own father, Donald J. Harris.
00:47:01.000Mr. Harris, can you hear me and see me, sir?
00:47:10.000Yeah, man, everything coming in clear in an empty bottle of rum, and I think you know what I'm talking about.
00:47:15.000Well, no, I'm more of a whiskey guy, a rye Canadian, but I wanted to ask you, do you have any thoughts on your daughter's performance last night?
00:50:19.000She is not a dead skin cell to be found.
00:50:21.000We're going to continue with this and if you were looking for a place to watch this fact check and you want all the resources, please click the links.
00:50:31.000All of our resources are made publicly available.
00:50:33.000If we've gotten anything wrong, let us know.
00:50:43.000Alright, I guess I'll be here by myself on Monday.
00:50:48.000And, uh, let's go fact-check Tim Walls a little bit, because he sat there very uncomfortably until they decided they were going to ask him a couple of questions, and he looked really happy.
