Hello, my rebels. Today, I've got a fun recap of the Democratic presidential primaries in the
00:00:07.420
states. And obviously, I support Donald Trump and regard myself as a Republican, even though
00:00:13.280
I'm a Canadian. I'm not a member of any U.S. party. Obviously, my sympathies are with them.
00:00:18.580
But I got to tell you, it has been so entertaining watching the Democratic Party. I've been
00:00:23.740
riveted to it, and I think everyone has, I think. I'm going to take you through some of my favorite
00:00:28.840
moments of the campaign. I think I've got 10 clips for you that really tell the story.
00:00:34.720
Some of them you've got to see with your own eyes. There's one of Michael Bloomberg
00:00:38.460
touching a pizza and licking his fingers and then touching the pizza again. Oh, my God. I mean,
00:00:49.280
oh, so you've got to see it. So you can get some of it on the podcast version, but you've got to get
00:00:54.620
the video version. And it's easy to do that. Just become a premium subscriber to what we're now
00:00:59.820
calling Rebel News Plus. But all that means is you get the video version of these podcasts.
00:01:04.000
And you get Sheila Gunn-Reed's show, too, and David Menzies' show, too. Just go to rebelnews.com,
00:01:08.160
and it's really easy to find a subscribe button. Eight bucks a month. And you'll see the video part,
00:01:14.000
too. Okay, here's the rest of the audio podcast. Tonight, what just happened in the U.S. Democratic
00:01:35.140
primaries? I'll show you some video clips that help tell the story. It's March 4th,
00:01:40.060
and this is The Ezra Levant Show. Why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon
00:01:46.380
consumer I know? There's 8,500 customers here, and you won't give them an answer. The only thing
00:01:52.020
I have to say to the government about why I'm publishing it is because it's my bloody right
00:01:56.620
to do so. I normally rely on U.S. experts like our friend Joel Pollack to dissect what's going on
00:02:08.720
in U.S. politics, and Joel is particularly good because he really follows the Democratic Party.
00:02:14.360
He goes to their events, I mean. He talks to them. He tries to understand them on their terms.
00:02:19.540
He's not a partisan Republican sniper. He's not into gotcha or unfair criticisms. He's obviously
00:02:25.400
conservative in his ideology, and he supports Trump, but it's not blind love for Trump, and it's not at
00:02:31.040
the expense of his journalistic and intellectual integrity. I really rely on Joel for the Democrats.
00:02:36.480
I'd like to think that I, personally, would give Democrats credit where it's due, too,
00:02:42.320
but to be candid with you, I'm having trouble sympathizing with any of their candidates right
00:02:47.300
now. I like Tulsi Gabbard, but I admit that some of that is just aesthetic. I like the fact that
00:02:54.060
she's young and attractive and a military veteran who's actually served. I like the fact that she
00:02:59.600
bucks the Democratic Party's establishment, and she even sued Hillary Clinton when Clinton alleged that
00:03:05.120
Tulsi is a Russian agent or something. Imagine a life of military service and then servicing Congress
00:03:12.840
and having Clinton call you a traitor, the same Hillary Clinton whose Clinton Global Foundation
00:03:19.920
accepted literally hundreds of millions of dollars from foreign governments and corporations
00:03:24.040
during Clinton's time as Secretary of State, clearly for political and business quid pro quo.
00:03:29.400
I like Tulsi just for that, but alas, she never took hold. Perhaps it was because she was from Hawaii,
00:03:36.900
a small and remote state. Perhaps it's because the Democratic establishment just refused and rigged the
00:03:43.440
rules of their party debates. In fact, they changed them again today in a way to rule her out, but to let
00:03:48.580
others like Tom Steyer in. He's the California billionaire who tried to buy his way in, and he did buy his way
00:03:57.140
into various debates. Oh, well, too bad. Let me play for you my video, my just one last video of Tulsi Gabbard,
00:04:07.580
Where I live, there are rainbows, with life in the laughter of morning and starry nights.
00:04:23.640
That's her husband, by the way, if you didn't get that. I gotta tell you, they're quirky, but they're real.
00:04:48.400
I liked that she didn't indulge the madness of her party, too, by the way. She voted present, I think,
00:04:53.880
or abstain or something neutral on the impeachment vote, which shows some sanity. But alas, she is not
00:05:00.800
a contender, so let's look at who was. I mentioned that Tom Steyer, the global warming-obsessed
00:05:06.700
impeachment-obsessed billionaire, tried to buy his way into the race, and he did, in fact, buy his way
00:05:11.980
onto the stage. He was cardboard, though. He dropped out. But what about this guy? That guy
00:05:19.720
is actually, can you see it there, the meatball in the front? That is a meatball that looks like
00:05:26.340
Michael Bloomberg, who doesn't just have $1 billion like Tom Steyer. Bloomberg's estimated to be worth
00:05:34.700
more than $60 billion, and he spent it like mad, including on that meatball meme. Bloomberg bought
00:05:41.800
that and paid for that. He spent his money on anything. He bought weird ads, anything. Really,
00:05:47.120
anyone with an idea could sell it to him. It was a miracle for ad agencies. Look at this one.
00:05:53.380
Donald Trump eats burnt steak. Mike Bloomberg likes his media wear. I mean, Bloomberg is 78 years old,
00:06:00.520
and he has more than $60 billion. Let's say he lives another 10 years. May he live many more.
00:06:06.360
But let's say he lives 10 years. That's still $6 billion a year he could spend. Actually, more,
00:06:13.100
since Bloomberg's wealth is still increasing. That means Bloomberg could spend $500 million
00:06:18.780
every month and still not spend all of his money. So he literally thought,
00:06:27.780
buy anything and everything, any kooky idea, every kooky idea. He just said yes,
00:06:33.180
because money is literally no object to him. I've been in the U.S. a little bit in recent months,
00:06:38.680
and wherever you go, if there's a TV on in the background, you know, a lot of restaurants and
00:06:43.460
bars have a TV on. You can't escape Mike Bloomberg and his TV ads just everywhere. He dropped between
00:06:50.380
$500 million and $700 million in just a couple months. I don't know the final figures.
00:06:56.640
And yet it was a disaster. He just didn't move the needle. I think he won American Samoa.
00:07:04.800
Not sure how that happened. He literally could have offered every Democratic Party delegate $10 million
00:07:11.500
cash to vote for him, and he would have done better and spent less money.
00:07:16.340
He was a bit weird, as billionaires can be. Look at this. This is a video his own team released.
00:07:23.820
If you didn't know who this guy was, and he was at the community picnic touching all the food and
00:07:29.580
then licking all of his fingers and then touching the food again, you'd say, ooh, gross, smarten up.
00:07:37.600
Don't do that. Don't double dip. Don't lick your fingers and touch everything in this era of
00:07:42.000
coronavirus. But when the weirdo licking and touching and licking and touching is worth $60
00:07:48.680
billion, no one around him says anything because they're either scared of him or more likely looking
00:07:56.600
to ingratiate themselves with him. He's had lots of weird moments like that that made him, I think,
00:08:02.520
weird and unlikable. Like this one. Did you see this?
00:08:05.240
You spent a lot of time in Texas? Tejas, we'd say here. Tejas. Tejas. That's Spanish for Texas.
00:08:14.500
Okay. You're in a Cuban neighborhood, so you've got to know where you're on.
00:08:20.780
Yeah, man. Woo! You just... Tejas. That's what we say here. I read my briefing notes from my PR agency,
00:08:31.140
and they said to call it Tejas, because everyone does. Don't mess with Tejas. Have you been to Dallas, Tejas?
00:08:40.740
Oh, my God. Yeah, no. Bloomberg makes Mark Zuckerberg look lifelike and human.
00:08:49.700
Bloomberg is many times richer than Donald Trump, who is also a billionaire.
00:08:53.540
And by many measures, look, Bloomberg is more successful than Trump, but Trump, at least, is a human.
00:09:01.180
He knows how to fight and to laugh and to fight while laughing and laugh while fighting.
00:09:05.380
Like this, that Trump said just last weekend in his speech at the CPAC convention I was at.
00:09:10.920
She was really mean to Minnie Mike, I'll tell you, the way she treated her.
00:09:29.180
I'm sorry. Don't tell me you didn't laugh. That's funny.
00:09:32.120
I don't care what you think of Trump. You have to admit he has a comedian's timing.
00:09:42.020
Now, Trump was talking there in that little clip about how Elizabeth Warren took Bloomberg out to the woodshed in the debates a few weeks ago.
00:09:52.120
I showed you this clip the other day. Remember this?
00:09:57.140
And what we need to know is exactly what's lurking out there.
00:10:00.640
He has gotten some number of women, dozens, who knows, to sign nondisclosure agreements,
00:10:06.700
both for sexual harassment and for gender discrimination in the workplace.
00:10:12.020
So, Mr. Mayor, are you willing to release all of those women from those nondisclosure agreements
00:10:34.000
None of them accused me of doing anything other than maybe they didn't like the joke I told.
00:10:39.920
And let me just put – and let me point – there's agreements between two parties that wanted to keep it quiet, and that's up to them.
00:10:48.100
They signed those agreements, and we'll live with it.
00:10:50.360
So, wait, when you say it is – I just want to be clear.
00:10:56.860
And when you say they signed them and they wanted them, if they wish now to speak out and tell their side of the story about what it is they allege,
00:11:08.340
that's now okay with you? You're releasing them on television tonight?
00:11:17.880
Senator, the company and somebody else, in this case, a man or a woman, or it could be more than that,
00:11:23.400
they decided when they made an agreement that they wanted to keep it quiet for everybody's interest.
00:11:28.180
They signed the agreements, and that's what we're going to live with.
00:11:31.320
No, the question is, are the women bound by being muzzled by you?
00:11:36.500
And you could release them from that immediately, because understand, this is not just a question of the mayor's character.
00:11:51.060
As Nigel Farage put it in a tweet just today, only ideas and personality win in politics, and you can't buy those with money.
00:12:01.500
I don't know about you, but I found it deeply comforting that a guy who dumped, I don't know, $700 million,
00:12:08.200
and remember, that's U.S. money, so that's almost a billion Canadian dollars,
00:12:17.200
And whatever Tom Steyer, the billionaire, spent – isn't that comforting?
00:12:22.440
And it shows what a hoax the whole Russia, Russia, Russia thing was.
00:12:25.880
As you know, in the end, the Russians spent just over $100,000 in Facebook ads in the 2016 U.S. election,
00:12:33.080
and the media claimed that rigged the election.
00:12:39.160
Now, Pete Buttigieg was really odd as a candidate, I thought.
00:12:46.280
Bloomberg was weird, but he was weird in his own quirky way, like Howard Hughes, maybe,
00:12:53.040
like a recluse billionaire, but Buttigieg was weird in a robotic way.
00:12:59.140
He obviously studied and tried to mimic Barack Obama.
00:13:03.260
The way we do every other election, by giving it to the person who got the most votes.
00:13:11.800
It is a movement reaching into church basements,
00:13:14.360
and in our schools, and in our universities, and with our kids.
00:13:17.620
And if we can line up the neighborhoods, and we can line up the city.
00:13:21.140
Shining as a beacon around the world once more.
00:13:30.500
I got nothing against a guy who works for the CIA, per se,
00:13:33.900
although it feels like he's living a life as an alias, as a cover story.
00:13:41.620
So much so that the New York Times, of all people, basically called him out.
00:13:47.520
You've been on the front lines of corporate price fixing.
00:13:49.880
You've been on the front lines of our misadventures in foreign policy.
00:13:55.280
You've had direct experience of many of the things
00:14:00.320
about the way that this country is operating right now.
00:14:06.680
So the proposition that I've been on the front lines of corporate price fixing is
00:14:11.740
You worked for a company that was fixing bread prices.
00:14:16.060
I worked for a consulting company that had a client
00:14:18.600
that may have been involved in fixing, or was apparently in a scandal.
00:14:23.140
I was not aware of the Canadian bread pricing scandal until last night.
00:14:28.860
They didn't like him, and they like every Democrat.
00:14:32.560
There's another candidate named Amy Klobuchar who dropped out quickly, too.
00:14:36.420
Almost all of them dropped out and pledged their support to Joe Biden at the same time.
00:14:40.220
Biggest misconception is that I'm boring, because I'm not.
00:14:47.140
Buttigieg, Klobuchar, even Beto O'Rourke, remember him?
00:14:51.920
All of a sudden, they all assembled next to Joe Biden on the same day.
00:14:57.940
This was before last night's Super Tuesday vote.
00:15:02.320
The Democratic Party establishment was getting all the moderate candidates out of the race
00:15:07.960
to coalesce behind Joe Biden, but leaving Elizabeth Warren, the leftist activist, in
00:15:20.400
But last night, she surely cost Bernie lots of support in key states like Texas and California.
00:15:27.200
So it was smart to leave her in for the Biden-Democrat establishment.
00:15:31.940
Remember how it worked for Donald Trump four years ago?
00:15:35.120
Trump won the 2016 Republican nomination in much the same way.
00:15:39.800
He was the only interesting guy, and he was running against more than a dozen competitors.
00:15:44.880
So the vote split between one Trump and many anti-Trump candidates, establishment candidates.
00:15:54.840
The Democrats are trying to stop that dynamic to make it one moderate, Joe Biden, as the
00:16:02.700
And to keep Elizabeth Warren in to split the hard left vote.
00:16:05.780
They're trying to flip the dynamics around on Bernie Sanders.
00:16:08.460
Now, Bloomberg stayed in just long enough to realize that his $700 million campaign wasn't
00:16:19.540
Yeah, Elizabeth Warren is in there, but not really.
00:16:33.160
They'll arrange it that way, like they arranged for Hillary Clinton to beat Bernie Sanders last
00:16:39.320
That's what they did with intricate insider rules last time.
00:16:42.920
It was that superdelegates could overcome the foolish choice of mere Democratic Party
00:16:49.400
So they replaced Bernie Sanders last time, a radical socialist, who for years wasn't even
00:16:56.000
You know, Bernie Sanders wasn't in the Democratic Party.
00:17:00.080
But Bernie Sanders, from an electoral point of view, at least he had passion and authenticity.
00:17:04.440
They replaced him with an evil robot, Hillary Clinton.
00:17:11.500
And Tom Steyer and Pete Buttigieg are bland robots.
00:17:19.940
So now the option is Joe Biden, who is likable.
00:17:39.780
But I got to say he feels 63 to me in terms of his energy level.
00:17:44.560
Bernie had a heart attack on the campaign already.
00:17:53.120
In one of the debates, suddenly his eye was full of blood.
00:18:01.520
But mainly, I think Joe Biden's losing it a bit.
00:18:24.800
150 million people have been killed since 2007 when Bernie voted to exempt the gun manufacturers from liability.
00:18:33.980
It would put 720 million back, million women back in the workforce.
00:18:40.320
Nobody should be in jail for a nonviolent crime.
00:18:44.780
I'm a Democratic candidate for the United States Senate.
00:18:47.320
What's not to like about Vermont in terms of the beauty of it?
00:18:52.860
Make sure the television, excuse me, make sure you have the record player on at night.
00:18:57.680
Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids.
00:19:09.500
All men and women created by, go, you know the, you know the thing.
00:19:19.240
He would be 78 years old when inaugurated if he wins.
00:19:25.560
Him going full tilt, global travel, 18-hour work days like Trump does.
00:19:34.440
It's odd, though, that Barack Obama, who endorsed Justin Trudeau, for heaven's sakes,
00:19:38.900
hasn't quite fully, really endorsed Joe Biden yet, has he?
00:19:44.340
But here's an official ad rolled out by Bernie Sanders.
00:19:48.280
Bernie is somebody who has the virtue of saying exactly what he believes,
00:19:54.120
great authenticity, great passion, and is fearless.
00:19:57.920
Bernie served on the Veterans Committee and got bills done.
00:20:05.360
They want honest leadership who cares about them.
00:20:08.500
They want somebody who's going to fight for them.
00:20:23.140
I know it's socialism and group identity politics,
00:20:26.300
but again, there's energy and authenticity and passion here.
00:20:35.260
With these hands, we will transform this country.
00:20:40.100
With these hands, we will have Medicare for all.
00:20:44.200
With these hands, we will have college for all.
00:20:48.060
With these hands, we will have criminal justice reform.
00:20:52.820
With these hands, we will strike down the vestiges of racism
00:20:57.380
and discrimination and homophobia and xenophobia.
00:21:00.560
With these hands, be we black or brown or red or white or yellow
00:21:11.400
With these hands, we will elect Senator Bernie Sanders
00:21:16.700
as the next president of the United States of America.
00:21:30.180
Bernie doesn't rage against millionaires anymore,
00:21:34.460
because Bernie himself has become a millionaire
00:21:55.700
Bernie is relatively clean, not so for Joe Biden.
00:22:01.420
and has for years, like Hillary Clinton and Bill would do.
00:22:22.720
I went over, I guess, the 12th, 13th time to Kiev,
00:22:29.860
that there was another billion-dollar loan guarantee.
00:22:42.520
So they said they were walking out to the press conference,
00:22:46.340
we're not going to give you the billion dollars.
00:23:16.120
It just so happens that Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden,
