Summary

In December of 2013, a new virus was discovered in Wuhan, China. It was a new SARS-like virus, but it looked a lot like a coronavirus, a virus that causes people to get sick and then die. The problem was that it was a pandemic, and China was covering it up.

00:00:00.000 Hello, my rebels. It's great to be back at our world headquarters in Toronto.
00:00:04.800 Today I go through the coronavirus, the history. In fact, I take you back to those early days in
00:00:09.760 December in Wuhan, China, a day-by-day chronology of how the virus spread and what the Chinese
00:00:17.600 government did in those first key critical weeks. I tell you, looking at what they did,
00:00:25.000 they could have stopped this pandemic, but they chose political pride. The Communist Party didn't
00:00:31.760 want to be embarrassed. I'll make the case to you. Hey, can I invite you to become a subscriber to
00:00:37.380 Rebel News Plus? It's basically the video version of this podcast. And you also get Sheila Gunn-Reed's
00:00:42.320 show and David Mente's show. Just go to rebelnews.com and sign up. It's eight bucks a month.
00:00:46.360 Well, worth it, I think. Here's the show.
00:00:55.000 Tonight, Canada's supposed to be on lockdown, but unvetted flights are still arriving from places
00:01:11.460 like China every day. It's March 18th, and this is the Ezra LeVant Show.
00:01:17.760 Why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon consumer I know?
00:01:21.380 There's 8,500 customers here, and you won't give them an answer.
00:01:25.700 The only thing I have to say to the government of a wire publisher is because it's my bloody
00:01:30.560 right to do so.
00:01:36.720 This is a timeline of the Wuhan coronavirus compiled from different reports in the Wall Street Journal,
00:01:43.540 Washington Post, and Hong Kong's South China Morning Post. Can I read you the first three
00:01:49.420 weeks of the epidemic? Because it's obviously the most important three weeks of all. Let me read it.
00:01:54.960 It's going to take about a minute, but look at this. December 10th, Wei Guixian, one of the earliest
00:01:59.920 known coronavirus patients, starts feeling ill. December 16th, patient admitted to Wuhan Central
00:02:06.700 Hospital with infection in both lungs but resistant to anti-flu drugs. Staff later learned he worked at a
00:02:12.960 wildlife market connected to the outbreak. December 27th, Wuhan health officials are told that a new
00:02:19.520 coronavirus is causing the illness. December 30th, Ai Fen, a top director at Wuhan Central Hospital,
00:02:27.460 posts information on WeChat, that's like Twitter in China, about the new virus. She was reprimanded for
00:02:34.200 doing so and told not to spread information about it. Wuhan doctor Li Wenliang also shares information
00:02:41.720 on WeChat about the new SARS-like virus. He's called in for questioning shortly afterwards.
00:02:49.100 Wuhan Health Commission notifies hospitals of a pneumonia of unclear cause and orders them to report
00:02:55.340 any related information. December 31st, Wuhan health officials confirm 27 cases of illness
00:03:01.700 and close a market they think is related to the virus spread. China tells the World Health
00:03:07.580 Organization's China office about the cases of an unknown illness. January 1, Wuhan Public Security
00:03:15.520 Bureau brings in for questioning eight doctors who had posted information about the illness on WeChat.
00:03:23.300 January 2, Chinese researchers map the new coronavirus' complete genetic information.
00:03:29.240 This information is not made public until January 9th.
00:03:35.120 The cover-up continued for weeks. Here's the story in Xinhua of the arrests of these doctors by the
00:03:42.280 Communist Party police. You can see the translation here using Google Translate. I'm actually surprised
00:03:48.040 that the Communist Party hasn't taken down the original publication that shows how China brutally
00:03:53.860 silenced the doctors who were trying to warn their country and warn the world. According to this
00:03:59.820 group of British scientists, had China not covered things up, had they tried to solve the problem and even
00:04:08.220 talk freely about it as opposed to hiding the problem and punishing those who were trying to solve the problem,
00:04:12.740 it's estimated that 95% of the cases wouldn't have happened, that the spread wouldn't have happened.
00:04:19.740 And of course, these days, China controls much more than just itself. It controls the United Nations
00:04:25.520 Agency called the World Health Organization. Look what they published just a few weeks ago.
00:04:31.660 Preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese authorities have found no clear evidence
00:04:37.820 of human-to-human transmission of the novel coronavirus identified in Wuhan, China.
00:04:43.820 But that wasn't true when they published it, was it? So it's not just China that's lying.
00:04:51.140 It's the UN that's lying. It's the World Health Organization that's lying. And of course,
00:04:55.440 it's our media that's lying. Here's an op-ed in Bloomberg.com, which is obviously owned by
00:05:00.980 Democratic activist Michael Bloomberg, the former mayor of New York who briefly ran for president.
00:05:06.220 He has massive business interests in China. Seriously, China's better than America? That's what
00:05:13.780 they're arguing. That's an American media company with Chinese propaganda. And here's the American
00:05:21.020 who owns Bloomberg.com, Michael Bloomberg himself.
00:05:24.780 The Communist Party wants to stay in power in China, and they listen to the public. When the public
00:05:31.240 says, I can't breathe the air, Xi Jinping is not a dictator. He has to satisfy his constituents,
00:05:37.260 so he's not going to survive. He's not a dictator?
00:05:40.420 No, he has to. He has a constituency to answer to.
00:05:47.540 He doesn't have a vote. He doesn't have a democracy. He doesn't. He's not held accountable
00:05:51.600 by voters. That doesn't mean he can survive if his advisers gave him.
00:05:54.500 Is they check on him just a revolution?
00:05:56.980 You're not going to have a revolution. Nobody's. No government survives without the will of the
00:06:01.460 majority of its people.
00:06:02.500 Yeah. Can you blame ordinary people for not believing a word authorities have to say?
00:06:09.860 The United Nation lies, of course. Truth tellers are censored in China, and our own media sides
00:06:17.080 with the enemy. And here in Canada, the first thing that Trudeau's top doctor said when she slowly,
00:06:24.400 belatedly woke from her slumber and started to look at this issue was to shame and silence
00:06:29.880 Canadians by saying anyone worried about the virus was just racist. John Tory, the disgraced mayor of
00:06:35.820 Toronto, said the exact same thing. Except there wasn't a single example of anti-Chinese racism in
00:06:42.200 the whole city about this virus. It's true some Chinese malls and restaurants were less crowded,
00:06:48.540 but it was fellow Chinese customers who were staying away, probably frightened by what they had
00:06:54.160 heard on WeChat from back home. That's not racism when Chinese Canadians won't go to Chinese shops and
00:07:01.800 restaurants in Canada because they're scared. But that's how Trudeau chose to play it. Anyone
00:07:07.700 was a racist who talked about this, and anyone who said we should stop flights from China,
00:07:13.440 well, they were double, triple racist. You know, I never falter that closely, but it was universally
00:07:20.160 believed in Ottawa, both amongst the press corps and even opposition parties, that Dr. Jane Philpott was
00:07:25.900 an outstanding minister of health. She was often called the most competent of Trudeau's ministers,
00:07:31.360 perhaps the only one not hired to meet a gender quota. She was effective, but also honest. So honest
00:07:39.300 that she was turfed from the party by Trudeau for standing up to his corruption in the SNC-Lavalin
00:07:44.640 land. What a shame, because we sure could use her now. Instead, we have Patty Hajdu, a social activist
00:07:53.040 and graphic designer. That'll help. And she's in charge of things now, apparently. Was this good advice
00:08:01.380 from her at a press conference? Or was it a panicked response by someone who had no clue what to say,
00:08:08.560 but had to say something, anything? Her advice to Canadians was to stampede to grocery stores
00:08:14.500 to stockpile food and medicine? Was that actually her advice? Why, yes, it was.
00:08:22.840 Of course, anyone who was a bit worried about the actual virus that would make someone have to stockpile
00:08:28.340 like it was Armageddon, well, they were racist. So the virus was bad enough that you have to prepare
00:08:34.200 for the worst, but not so bad that Trudeau would actually stop people from flying here from China.
00:08:40.760 Until Monday, when he finally announced that he was going to stop people from flying here from China.
00:08:48.340 Except he's not actually stopping people from flying here from China. A whole bunch of flights to Canada,
00:08:54.820 even today, from China, just flying in the air right now. China Eastern Airlines coming over today
00:09:01.600 from Shanghai. I'm sure that company, controlled by the communist part of China, has our best interests
00:09:07.560 at heart. Other countries coming into Canada, too, just flying in, no screening, despite promises.
00:09:13.820 Trudeau said only Canadians are allowed to come home from foreign countries.
00:09:19.080 Who's going to ensure that? China Eastern Airlines? Our own David Manzies went to the airport today to
00:09:25.280 greet a foreign flight to see if Trudeau's announcements were really happening. Take a look how that went.
00:09:29.680 Let's see what these arrivals have to say.
00:09:32.840 Hello, sir. Did you just fly in from Hong Kong?
00:09:35.880 Yeah.
00:09:37.060 I'm just wondering, did you go through any special screening procedures when you went through customs?
00:09:41.980 You mean Hong Kong or here?
00:09:43.200 Here, yeah.
00:09:45.600 No, they asked, but they didn't have anything special.
00:09:50.640 No one took your temperature or anything like that?
00:09:53.200 No.
00:09:54.520 Did anyone at customs say anything about coronavirus precautions?
00:09:58.720 Yeah, yeah, yeah. They asked questions. They sent me the livenants. Yeah.
00:10:05.300 And are you going to go into a 14-day quarantine?
00:10:08.560 Sure, why not?
00:10:09.560 Excuse me, ma'am. Did you just get off the flight from Hong Kong? Yes?
00:10:13.860 Did you go through any kind of special screening measures when you went through customs?
00:10:18.920 No screening measures. No?
00:10:20.660 No one took your temperature or?
00:10:23.200 Temperature, yes.
00:10:24.040 No.
00:10:25.820 You mean here? When we arrived here?
00:10:28.820 No one took... No, no, no, no.
00:10:30.620 Yeah, I'm not very confident. Are you?
00:10:33.040 And we sent our key in Bextie to Roxham Road, where anyone in New York State can just walk across the border.
00:10:39.700 How does that look at?
00:10:41.020 This is an image of the illegal aliens who just came in.
00:10:44.060 Over the course of the hour that I've been here, about two dozen have come in, but I find this family very interesting.
00:10:49.580 There's about seven or eight of them, and very specifically, two of them were wearing masks.
00:10:54.540 Wasn't the children, wasn't the father, it was two women.
00:10:57.680 Very specifically them wearing masks.
00:11:00.360 Wasn't an overly cautious family who put a mask on everyone,
00:11:03.360 saying that they're, you know, concerned that they're going to contract the Wuhan coronavirus from Canadians.
00:11:08.180 He's allowing illegal immigrants, about 60 to 70 a day, to walk in.
00:11:13.100 And what do you know, it only took a few minutes of me being here,
00:11:16.260 although I'm not allowed to get super close like I was before.
00:11:18.940 This fence behind me is prohibiting me.
00:11:20.500 It says no trespassing, and I don't want to get arrested right now.
00:11:23.020 I don't want to be in prison in the middle of a pandemic.
00:11:25.420 But you can be sure that illegal immigrants are still using this border crossing.
00:11:30.980 So you can come from anywhere in the world, if you can make your way to New York and just walk into Canada
00:11:36.900 and either be set free in Canada, which is what's really happening,
00:11:40.580 or maybe you might actually get free health care putting you to the front of the line ahead of Canadian citizens,
00:11:46.180 because Trudeau has announced that he simply won't deport any fake refugees.
00:11:51.160 He just won't deport anyone.
00:11:52.560 So free health care for the whole world, if you can just get to Roxham Road,
00:11:57.500 bump Canadian citizens to the back of the line.
00:12:00.380 Trudeau and Heidi were so bad, so slow, so indecisive, so incompetent.
00:12:04.980 I just can't understand it unless it's on purpose, which I don't want to believe.
00:12:10.100 Compare their inaction and incompetence to Donald Trump,
00:12:13.460 who has commandeered or cajoled U.S. industry into moving very quickly.
00:12:18.080 For example, he's removed all red tape for vaccine research, for example, speeding it up by years.
00:12:23.840 He's pressed mighty companies to do his will in the national interest.
00:12:27.820 He's working with state governors full tilt.
00:12:30.520 I want to show you how that's going.
00:12:32.040 And I'm not going to quote to you snippy and snipey pundits from Toronto and Ottawa who hate Donald Trump.
00:12:40.200 They don't know anything.
00:12:41.380 I want to show you what Trump's mortal enemies have had to say about him.
00:12:46.960 The Democratic Party, governors of two extremely Democratic-leaning states, California and New York.
00:12:52.520 They hate Trump politically, especially Gavin Newsom of California.
00:12:57.560 But listen to him just the other day.
00:12:59.980 I had a private conversation with him around 4.30 West Coast time.
00:13:05.620 And he said everything that I could have hoped for.
00:13:10.180 Wow.
00:13:11.780 I don't think he would say that unless it was true.
00:13:14.620 And listen to New York's Governor Andrew Cuomo just yesterday.
00:13:17.740 I almost couldn't believe it.
00:13:19.140 I think the president was 100 percent sincere in saying that he wanted to work together in partnership,
00:13:27.120 in a spirit of cooperation, I can tell you the actions he has taken, evidence that his team has been on it.
00:13:36.580 I know a team when they're on it.
00:13:39.040 I know a team when they're not on it.
00:13:41.300 His team is on it.
00:13:42.500 They've been responsive late at night, early in the morning.
00:13:45.980 And they've thus far been doing everything that they can do.
00:13:51.260 And I want to say thank you.
00:13:53.020 That's actually a really nice comment.
00:13:55.160 Trump and his team are working at all hours.
00:13:57.360 FEMA, that's the Federal Emergency Management Administration, the Army Corps of Engineers.
00:14:02.540 Whatever they need, Trump's on it.
00:14:03.960 It's almost like he's a businessman executive who's used to dealing with problems,
00:14:07.640 used to managing and making decisions and leading people.
00:14:09.920 So what's Canada doing?
00:14:13.120 Well, look at this.
00:14:14.680 I'm not even kidding.
00:14:16.000 This is real.
00:14:17.200 It's a Kijiji style.
00:14:18.840 Hey, guys.
00:14:19.960 Help Wanted ad put online just yesterday by Trudeau.
00:14:24.360 This is a real Government of Canada ad.
00:14:26.620 Hey, guys.
00:14:27.800 If anyone can sell us some face masks and some gloves, that would be really, really nice.
00:14:32.620 Thanks, guys.
00:14:33.620 He put up a Help Wanted ad.
00:14:35.360 I'm serious.
00:14:36.400 That's how Trudeau and Haidu roll, because neither has actually ever done anything,
00:14:42.660 ever built anything, led anything, run anything except for run them out.
00:14:48.420 It's a disaster, of course.
00:14:49.720 It's a pandemic now because of China.
00:14:52.120 It's spread to the world.
00:14:53.740 The U.S. Centers for Disease Control, that's the world's leading antivirus experts,
00:14:58.360 they tried to help.
00:14:59.240 They tried to learn more about the virus.
00:15:01.220 They were banned by China from going to Wuhan.
00:15:04.400 The Chinese government lied to the world.
00:15:06.400 And let the virus spread and let their people spread it.
00:15:10.060 Now that China has killed thousands of people around the world,
00:15:12.860 they're giving a few tokens of medical aid as PR.
00:15:16.040 How grotesque.
00:15:18.100 China now claims they're completely virus-free.
00:15:23.980 Now, they need to say that because they're trying to Americanize the problem.
00:15:28.560 Do you really believe that China is 100% virus-free now?
00:15:34.020 Hey, here's a cell phone video published online appearing to show people in full protective gear in Guangzhou.
00:15:40.220 Guangzhou Friendship Hotel.
00:15:41.820 Still zero cases reported.
00:15:43.520 Here's another video.
00:15:45.860 Here's another video.
00:15:47.160 Pit fires in Tianjin.
00:15:49.340 Nothing is in the pits, and everything is normal.
00:15:53.560 Now, I don't know if those pit fires are related to the virus.
00:15:58.240 I don't know if they're burning bodies there.
00:16:00.080 I don't know because, of course, truth-tellers in China are arrested.
00:16:03.460 Are they really cremating bodies in those massive pits?
00:16:08.240 Are those more viruses being hidden away in a hotel as opposed to a hospital?
00:16:13.680 How would we even know?
00:16:16.040 Maybe if we had foreign Western journalists, like from the New York Times or Wall Street Journal, in China, they could check.
00:16:23.400 Alas, China just kicked all of them out.
00:16:26.820 That's coincidental, isn't it?
00:16:28.340 China kicking out foreign reporters just as China announces it's beaten the virus, no more cases in the whole country.
00:16:37.920 Say, did we ever get an answer to what those Chinese soldiers were spraying in the streets and why?
00:16:44.340 Look, it's too late.
00:16:45.300 The virus is here.
00:16:46.360 And even if it weren't, Trudeau would let it in every day, even today.
00:16:49.920 Daily flights from China still happening several a day.
00:16:52.640 Hourly crossings at Roxham Road.
00:16:54.740 It's almost like Trudeau wants us to get the virus.
00:16:56.820 Maybe it's that he doesn't like old people anyways.
00:17:00.600 They vote conservative too much.
00:17:03.240 This thing is going to do great damage.
00:17:05.260 I think Trump will manage that a bit.
00:17:07.660 And Canada will copy some of the U.S. decisions, if only to avoid embarrassment.
00:17:12.420 Although I don't think Trudeau is capable of executing decisions.
00:17:15.820 He'll say the right things.
00:17:17.720 But as that help wanted ad shows, he's a disaster.
00:17:21.520 He doesn't know how to do anything.
00:17:23.360 Patty Hydu doesn't know how to do anything.
00:17:25.140 If anything, Trudeau will find a way to enrich his friends with grants and subsidies, as he usually does.
00:17:33.360 I guess the best summary of the whole thing is what that young man in Hong Kong told our reporter who was working with us on a freelance basis last year, Avi Yamini.
00:17:44.980 Remember we sent Avi over to Hong Kong during the democracy protests?
00:17:48.220 This was before the coronavirus.
00:17:49.980 Remember what that man he encountered on the street said to him?
00:17:55.100 Donald Trump don't trust China.
00:17:56.760 China is asshole.
00:17:58.100 Yeah, it's tough to argue with that, isn't it?
00:18:01.520 Stay with us for more with Manny Montenegrino.
00:18:04.140 We keep calling this the Chinese virus.
00:18:18.660 There are reports of dozens of incidents of bias against Chinese Americans in this country.
00:18:24.720 Your own aide, Secretary Azar, says he does not use this term.
00:18:28.420 He says ethnicity does not cause the virus.
00:18:31.220 Why do you keep using this?
00:18:32.540 A lot of people say he's racist.
00:18:34.380 It's not racist at all, no.
00:18:36.000 Not at all.
00:18:36.740 It comes from China.
00:18:38.740 That's why.
00:18:39.560 It comes from China.
00:18:40.520 I want to be accurate.
00:18:41.760 Well, that is President Donald Trump answering a question from the White House press corps about why he uses the phrase China virus.
00:18:50.540 No one's asking him why he says Spanish flu or German measles or Ebola or Zika, which are also named after geographical locations.
00:19:01.820 It's a line propagated by the Chinese Communist Party, which is trying to shift the blame for this virus, which first was discovered in the Chinese city of Wuhan, onto America.
00:19:14.620 In fact, very senior Chinese diplomats have actually circulated conspiracy theories that the virus is a creation of the United States.
00:19:25.320 Well, this and other curiosities came to the attention of one of our favorite legal observers and analysts, our friend Manny Montanagrino.
00:19:35.500 And he joins us now via Skype from Ottawa.
00:19:38.540 Manny, great to see you again.
00:19:40.100 And I'm so glad you're staying safe and healthy.
00:19:43.920 Thank you, Ezra.
00:19:44.840 Thank you for giving me this opportunity.
00:19:47.220 Ezra, I am, it's got to stop.
00:19:52.880 This political correctness has got to stop.
00:19:56.520 We are in a pandemic that is literally destroying millions of lives, millions of jobs, millions of people.
00:20:05.900 We don't need to be wasting a moment's time on whether the word Chinese virus is racist.
00:20:13.580 This is just absolute absurdity.
00:20:15.700 It just amazes me that even at this destruction of most societies, that that's all that some people could focus on.
00:20:26.620 The president is doing, in addition to trying to save his economy and millions of people and dealing with the unthinkable,
00:20:37.460 he has to deal with the politically correct liberal media trying to say what term to use.
00:20:43.960 The president used that term lately simply to defend against the Chinese government media,
00:20:52.700 the propaganda that they're trying to shift blame away from itself to America.
00:20:59.820 And, you know, Ezra, it makes sense for the Chinese government to do it because China has caused, you know, in my estimation,
00:21:09.740 at least $5 trillion in economic damage worldwide.
00:21:15.660 China has caused at least 10,000 lives and many more to come because of its woeful negligence and its covering up of a virus that it knew.
00:21:27.980 And so China is doing what China has to do, and that is to try to avoid liability.
00:21:35.640 Iran tried that.
00:21:37.220 You might recall when the Iran government or the Iran military shot down the plane, the civilian plane,
00:21:47.640 they first denied it, said it wasn't us, and then at least they accepted it.
00:21:50.960 Now, we were outraged.
00:21:52.520 We want compensation for the lives lost.
00:21:55.960 There are 200 lives there.
00:21:57.640 It wasn't intentional.
00:22:00.280 Iran, it was gross negligence.
00:22:03.200 And you and I, Ezra, know that when there's gross negligence, there's liability that follows and compensation to have.
00:22:09.780 In China, not only do we have gross negligence, we have intentional.
00:22:14.940 They hit it.
00:22:16.740 They had the doctor who first, Dr. Lee, God bless him, who first identified it, was put in some time of custody
00:22:26.580 and told not to propagate lies and propagate rumors.
00:22:31.060 And that only spread the virus worldwide during the Chinese New Year.
00:22:35.260 So we have a country that has not only acted willfully and intentionally to mask this virus, but also gross negligently.
00:22:46.860 And we are worried about a term.
00:22:50.280 I mean, what is going on?
00:22:52.620 You know, just off camera, you were telling me about, I mean, you're of Italian heritage and you follow very closely Italy,
00:23:00.020 which has had a tremendous loss so far from this virus.
00:23:05.660 And China has done something that, frankly, it reminds me of what O.J. Simpson said after he was acquitted.
00:23:12.280 He said, I'm going to look for the real killers, which was not only insulting, but it was laughable.
00:23:20.340 It was a way of him to obfuscate his own role.
00:23:23.480 When China sends a few trinkets of medical equipment to countries that it infected by covering up the truth,
00:23:33.400 that reminds me of O.J. saying, oh, well, let me make it all better.
00:23:37.480 Let me try and find the real killer.
00:23:39.820 And here's the thing.
00:23:40.760 I don't think anyone blames those countries in Africa from which Zika virus or Ebola virus came,
00:23:47.300 because, you know, that's nature.
00:23:49.080 That's, it's not a national culpability.
00:23:53.900 But as you point out, China, the government of China deliberately covered up.
00:24:00.360 And here's a story, and this is, here it is in Chinese, and now here it is put through Google Translate.
00:24:07.800 This is from Xinhua, the large newswire in China.
00:24:12.620 On January 1st, 2020, reporting arrests of doctors for saying the wrong thing.
00:24:22.760 I forget the exact term that they used in Chinese.
00:24:25.240 They were arresting these whistleblowers.
00:24:29.800 Yeah, they were spreading rumors.
00:24:32.040 But, Ezra, there's more to this story.
00:24:35.160 It isn't just January 1st, where the government of China committed intentional, what I'll call intentional harm.
00:24:45.260 This goes back 30, 40 years.
00:24:50.200 Now, let me explain this.
00:24:51.900 In 1970, before China muscled up to a great economy that it was,
00:24:57.720 tens of millions of Chinese were dying, starving of hunger.
00:25:02.100 And what they allowed, the Chinese then, that government, allowed the Chinese to have wet markets.
00:25:10.640 What that basically means is the sale of live, wild animals, and that saved lives.
00:25:18.240 But it also caused diseases.
00:25:22.380 Corona diseases comes from the transmission of animals to animals to different species to man,
00:25:28.860 and then we get a pandemic.
00:25:30.020 This is, I think, my fourth.
00:25:32.400 We recall the Asian flu.
00:25:34.120 We recall the SARS and other.
00:25:39.220 These all come from the same type.
00:25:41.480 These wet markets should be shut down.
00:25:44.220 There's been a movement for 10 years to shut down because wet markets cause these.
00:25:49.400 So not, and what China did, it expanded the wet markets because it's easy, it feeds a lot of people, and it's hard.
00:25:58.800 And of course, there are people that want it and lobby it and say that it helps them and whatever reasons.
00:26:05.120 But so we have a 30-year history of an intentional, what I'll call malfeasance by the government taking a Russian roulette.
00:26:17.320 Basically, you know, you have one chamber, one gun in the chamber, you roll around, does the coronavirus, a new one, be created in these wet markets that will eventually kill millions?
00:26:32.120 And so this happens and happens and happens and happens and it continues.
00:26:37.820 So this is, you know, we were outraged when Iran shot down a plane that were civilian.
00:26:45.220 There was no intent to shoot down civilians.
00:26:48.560 But we were outraged and we want compensation.
00:26:51.380 We want that government of Iran to act like a first nation and take responsibility and pay for the losses of the people.
00:26:59.800 That's not what's happened yet.
00:27:01.400 Well, in China, it's worse, in my opinion.
00:27:03.860 I mean, legally, let me put it to you, Ezra.
00:27:07.200 Let's assume that America had wet markets or whatever you want to call them that created these pandemics.
00:27:13.540 And the president, Trump, hid and removed doctors and hid it and the media hid it.
00:27:21.680 And all of a sudden you created a worldwide $5 trillion of damage, collapses to people's families, destruction.
00:27:29.860 And you don't think that America will be held libel.
00:27:32.840 You don't think Trump will be held libel.
00:27:34.460 Trump is trying to stop this and people are upset that he's using language to defend a what I'll call a country that's using terrible manipulative tools to avoid responsibility.
00:27:51.320 And Trump is not only on the front line of trying to save his economy, trying to save his people, trying to save the virus from spreading, but he's also trying to prevent China from doing this again by obfuscating its responsibility and taking its own actions to stop this from future pandemics.
00:28:12.960 But, Manny, you raised some great points.
00:28:15.420 If it came from these wet markets, that was a risk that they allowed.
00:28:19.220 And I think you're right, in a North American legal setting, that would be litigated out of existence.
00:28:25.320 There are some who wonder, and I'm one of them, if it's merely a coincidence that China's most secure and secretive biological research site for weapons is in Wuhan.
00:28:40.960 So, I'm not going to indulge in conspiracy theories, but it is possible that the virus came from there.
00:28:46.920 I have no proof that it did.
00:28:48.260 Both of those, I think you could call them negligent or accident, but what we know China did wittingly, thoughtfully, purposefully, strategically, was cover it up.
00:29:00.060 Like you say, arrest the doctors for rumor mongering, delay information getting out to the world, blocking American centers for disease control staff who wanted to go to Wuhan.
00:29:12.360 So, even if it was accidental or merely negligent at first, when China knew the truth, it covered it up, it arrested the whistleblowers, and it did not stop its infected people from traveling around the world, including to America and Canada.
00:29:30.740 So, here's my question for you.
00:29:33.600 Is it possible to have a class action lawsuit against the sovereign government of China?
00:29:41.260 I know that in the past, people have sued Libya for bombing the jet over Lockerbie, and in the end, Libya paid out.
00:29:50.000 I think, in the end, Iran will probably pay out for the people it murdered by shooting down that jet a couple months ago.
00:29:59.580 Do you think it's possible, or legally possible, to file a massive legal action against China?
00:30:07.440 By the way, they've got the money.
00:30:09.160 Do you think that it's possible to do that?
00:30:10.700 Yeah, you know, Ezra, this is going to shock you.
00:30:17.280 That's the least of my concern.
00:30:19.240 And let me tell you why.
00:30:21.620 If you, first of all, this is a nation that took two Michaels, two Canadians, and they're still in jail since 2018.
00:30:32.120 This is a nation that has a million Muslims in jail, work jails.
00:30:39.380 This is a nation.
00:30:40.640 When we had a refugee crisis, the world all responded.
00:30:44.540 Everyone took refugees but China.
00:30:47.920 So, I don't think, this is a nation.
00:30:51.900 China is a nation that when we declared a global warming crisis, in the last 30 years we've heard it, and certainly the last 10 years it ramped up.
00:31:01.360 Canada, U.S., and the EU reduced its CO2 consumption, production, and China increased it by 200% to 300% in that same year.
00:31:11.140 This is a nation that doesn't listen to the world.
00:31:14.520 Ezra, my fear is this.
00:31:17.800 What is happening today is catastrophic.
00:31:22.520 I mean, it is destroying businesses, lives, and economies, and we've talked about it.
00:31:27.500 But we will get through this.
00:31:29.820 What concerns me, because right now I'm talking to you through Skype, we are still communicating, we are still connected.
00:31:40.020 My wife is having a Zoom lunch with her girlfriends as we speak.
00:31:44.060 She's upstairs having a Zoom lunch, because we can do it through it.
00:31:48.680 But my fear is this nation that is not at all responsible to anyone in the world that's trying to avoid its responsibility for what it's done is now building a 5G platform in Canada.
00:32:04.880 Or still, it might build it in Canada, and it's still around the world.
00:32:08.720 So if we lose our technology, just think, just think how bad our world would be today if our technology is under assault.
00:32:20.360 I mean, I hope that I'm not alive when that happens.
00:32:23.440 I hope it's years and years ahead.
00:32:25.740 But I am fearful that if we accede to a nation, I mean, just think about this, Ezra.
00:32:32.100 How could we even consider a country who's not taking responsibility for what's happened with this coronavirus, who's trying to lie and say it's the Americans' fault, who is not doing anything?
00:32:48.120 It's a very rich nation.
00:32:49.880 And we're considering giving them our technology, our 5G, our ability to communicate.
00:32:57.240 I mean, things could be shut down in a minute if we lose technology.
00:33:01.040 So, you know, I'm not worried.
00:33:05.020 I mean, obviously, there could be a lawsuit.
00:33:07.160 Obviously, there should be.
00:33:08.400 Obviously, they should step up.
00:33:10.140 But they haven't stepped up with our, you know, we declared the world in a climate emergency and China keeps increasing its CO2 production.
00:33:22.120 We tax Canadians.
00:33:23.180 We destroy Alberta and China continues to increase its production of CO2.
00:33:30.260 Now, so how do we sit there and think that this nation is going to come to the table and discuss and be, as you say, responsible to the world on a class action?
00:33:41.900 Well, I mean, I know there's tricky laws about suing countries.
00:33:47.480 There's something called sovereign immunity.
00:33:49.400 You can't really settle political, international squabbles in a court of any one country.
00:33:55.500 So there's that problem.
00:33:56.400 But there have been some lawsuits that have been accepted in the past.
00:34:01.800 And I hope that American lawyers, who are amongst the most voracious lawyers in the world, I hope that some really smart lawyers, really motivated, put a lawsuit out there.
00:34:14.320 Because the thing about Chernobyl is it was devastating and it was a cover up and it was lies, but it really only affected people in the Soviet empire, including, unfortunately, Ukraine, which was part of the Soviet empire by force back then.
00:34:29.560 But it didn't really impact the rest of the world.
00:34:33.460 This is like a Chernobyl that affected the entire world.
00:34:38.180 And the same cover up and lies and culpability as Chernobyl, except for it's all of us, not just one geographic region.
00:34:47.520 I hope there are massive lawsuits.
00:34:49.040 Last word to you, Manny.
00:34:50.020 I mean, I just, you know, my goal today, Ezra, is please, Canadians, stop this romanticizing of China.
00:35:00.640 We had too much evidence to sit there and say they have not earned what Canadians are so good at giving, love, trust and compassion.
00:35:12.280 They have not earned it.
00:35:13.720 They have demonstrated quite the opposite.
00:35:16.000 Politicians that that received, I mean, certainly in America, many politicians have been paid off.
00:35:22.080 So they've been, over the last 10 or 15 years, very China friendly.
00:35:26.280 China has not earned it.
00:35:27.680 We have two Michaels still in jail.
00:35:29.660 We have this project that they created.
00:35:31.720 You think that would be enough to let these two Michaels, I mean, the Canadians that are dying, the Canadians economy that's collapsing,
00:35:39.240 you think that would be enough to let these two Michaels home and say, you know what, we kind of screwed up here.
00:35:44.600 Here's our little bit.
00:35:45.300 They have not done anything.
00:35:47.720 So this message that I leave, Ezra, is please stop this romanticizing of China.
00:35:54.240 Stop this defending of China.
00:35:56.160 Stop saying, oh, let's not be racist.
00:35:58.460 This is a government that has not deserved that Canadian mind.
00:36:04.560 Yeah, you're so right.
00:36:06.060 I had one point in time had thought that this, like Chernobyl, would be the beginning of the end of the communist regime in China,
00:36:15.540 the same way Chernobyl was one of the key reasons the Soviet Union fell.
00:36:20.080 I don't know if that's going to happen.
00:36:22.340 I hope that something good comes out of this pandemic.
00:36:25.720 And if it's the fall of China's totalitarians, that will be a silver lining.
00:36:30.460 Manny Montenegreno, it's great to see you.
00:36:31.960 Stay safe, my friend.
00:36:32.900 Stay healthy.
00:36:33.680 We look forward to talking to you again soon.
00:36:36.020 Take care.
00:36:36.420 Thank you.
00:36:36.880 All right.
00:36:37.240 There you have it.
00:36:37.740 Our friend Manny Montenegreno, the CEO of ThinkSharp.
00:36:41.240 He joined us today from Ottawa, Canada.
00:36:44.780 Stay with us.
00:36:45.320 More ahead.
00:36:54.120 Hey, welcome back.
00:36:54.940 On my monologue Friday about Manitoba raiding in their Human Rights Commission, Paul writes,
00:36:59.960 Human Rights Commissions are a little more than Soviet courts without the full power over people that the Soviet courts had.
00:37:06.720 Yeah, I don't know why governments in Canada of the conservative persuasion don't just abolish these courts.
00:37:13.120 I remember when Stephen Harper repealed the censorship provision of the Federal Human Rights Act.
00:37:17.820 I met with him when he was prime minister.
00:37:20.280 He wanted to talk to me about what I thought would happen.
00:37:22.340 And he was, I hope I'm not giving away a confidence, he said he was worried that there would be a public backlash to taking it away.
00:37:29.420 I said, no, I swear it'll just be the lawyers and bureaucrats who work there in a few special interest groups.
00:37:34.880 No real people like these.
00:37:38.040 And so it was.
00:37:39.200 When the Harper government repealed the censorship provision, there was no public opposition to that repeal at all.
00:37:46.420 You could shut down every Human Rights Commission in Canada, and the only people who would notice or care are the bureaucrats and lawyers who would have to get a real job.
00:37:56.660 On my coverage of Tommy Robinson's latest appearance in court, Zuzanna writes, Boris Johnson needs to clean up the British judicial system, ASAP.
00:38:02.820 Yeah, I don't think that's going to happen, it's not just the judicial system, it's everything.
00:38:08.800 It's what Daniel Pipes called the 5P professionals, the press, the prosecutors, the police, the professors, and the politicians themselves.
00:38:18.200 It's the whole establishment that is not only covering up the British rape gangs, but prosecuting Tommy too and depersoning him.
00:38:29.000 Bruce writes, until we normal folks rise up on ass and tell the lunatic left where to stick their socialist crap, we'll all end up in gulags.
00:38:37.080 Well, you know, that's the thing, I'm not quite sure what Justin Trudeau has planned next.
00:38:42.680 His father, as you know, invoked martial law, the War Measures Act, but that was in response to terrorist bombs and kidnappings, an actual violent paramilitary force called the FLQ.
00:38:53.840 But don't think that Trudeau would have any compunction about reining in our civil liberties, just if he could, not even if it would fix the problem.
00:39:03.340 Keeping out foreign flights is not a violation of anyone's civil rights.
00:39:06.580 Foreigners don't have the civil right to come to our country.
00:39:09.600 So Trudeau won't actually solve the problem, but he'll use the crisis as a fig leaf for justification to do what he really wants to do and grab more power.
00:39:19.500 Well, that's our show for today.
00:39:22.960 Until next time, on behalf of all of us here at Rebel World Headquarters, stay safe, stay healthy, and keep fighting for freedom.
