Summary

A clip from CNN mocking Americans as "dumb hicks" goes viral. Why is it so hard to figure out where Ukraine is on a map? And why is it that only elitists can figure it out? Plus, a new Angus Reid poll that shows how Canadians feel about the media.

00:00:00.000 Hello, my rebels. Today, I show you a clip from CNN mocking Americans as dumb hicks.
00:00:07.100 Of course, they feel that way.
00:00:10.460 How do Canadian journalists feel about the Canadian people?
00:00:15.160 And more to the point, how do Canadians feel about the media?
00:00:17.780 I've got the new Angus Reid poll that's quite surprising.
00:00:22.620 I think you'll find it very interesting.
00:00:24.220 Before I get out of the way and let you listen to the podcast,
00:00:26.460 let me invite you to become a premium subscriber.
00:00:30.000 Eight bucks a month gets you the video version of this podcast, plus other goodies.
00:00:35.940 Go to premium.rebelnews.com.
00:00:38.900 Here's the podcast.
00:00:44.780 You're listening to a Rebel News podcast.
00:00:55.120 Tonight, Why People Hate the Media, Part 243.
00:01:00.000 It's January 28th, and this is the Ezra LeVant Show.
00:01:04.800 Why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon consumer I know?
00:01:08.480 There's 8,500 customers here, and you won't give them an answer.
00:01:12.580 The only thing I have to say to the government about why I publish it is because it's my bloody right to do so.
00:01:18.440 Hey, did you see this clip from CNN the other day?
00:01:26.580 It's from a panel discussion about Donald Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
00:01:32.240 I'm not going to get into the back story other than Pompeo apparently challenged a left-wing reporter to find Ukraine on a map.
00:01:39.400 It doesn't matter because this clip speaks for itself, though.
00:01:42.280 Just to set it up, there's a leftist Muslim comedian named Wajahat Ali.
00:01:48.020 There's a never-Trumper Republican named Rick Wilson.
00:01:50.740 And in Italy, there's this giggly host.
00:01:55.720 This guy laughed, too, but holy, this guy just giggles.
00:01:58.500 His name is Don Lemon.
00:01:59.620 Take a look.
00:02:00.900 And obviously it's false.
00:02:02.640 And look, he also knows deep in his heart that Donald Trump couldn't find Ukraine on a map
00:02:06.600 if you had the letter U and a picture of an actual physical crane next to it.
00:02:10.800 He knows that this is, you know, an administration defined by ignorance of the world.
00:02:16.480 And so that's partly him playing to their base and playing to their audience, you know,
00:02:21.780 the credulous boomer rube demo that backs Donald Trump that wants to think that Donald Trump's a smart one
00:02:29.620 and they're all elitists or them.
00:02:33.300 You elitist with your geography and your maps and your spelling?
00:02:38.080 Your math and you're reading?
00:02:39.440 Yeah, you're reading, you know, your geography, knowing other countries, sipping your latte.
00:02:46.640 All those lines on the map.
00:02:50.560 Only them elitists know where Ukraine is.
00:02:54.980 Sorry, I apologize.
00:02:57.280 But by the way, Ukraine.
00:02:58.920 Oh, my God.
00:02:59.940 But you know what?
00:03:01.300 It was Rick's fault.
00:03:02.860 I blame Rick.
00:03:03.840 Oh, my God.
00:03:04.240 But in all honesty, you know what NPR should do?
00:03:07.820 Why not?
00:03:08.480 Sorry, hold on.
00:03:09.180 Wait, wait, wait.
00:03:09.620 Can I tell you what?
00:03:10.060 Give me a second.
00:03:10.480 Hold on, hold on, hold on.
00:03:11.760 Sorry.
00:03:13.240 That was good.
00:03:14.160 Sorry.
00:03:15.020 Rick, that was a good one.
00:03:16.280 I needed that.
00:03:17.400 Okay, so listen.
00:03:18.560 Now, of course, it is fair game to call any politician stupid.
00:03:22.300 I don't think Donald Trump is stupid.
00:03:24.480 I don't think you last long as a billionaire real estate mogul in Manhattan if you actually are stupid.
00:03:30.220 I just don't think he's stupid.
00:03:31.480 I mean, what would that make all the people he's beaten, like Hillary Clinton and on down?
00:03:36.660 But I get it.
00:03:37.620 You want to insult the guy and simply saying orange man bad isn't doing it anymore.
00:03:42.960 Hey, can you tell me where Ukraine is on this map?
00:03:49.040 Seriously, stop for a second.
00:03:50.280 Can you show me Ukraine on the map here?
00:03:51.840 It's not a place that most of us go.
00:03:57.160 It's not near us geographically.
00:03:59.680 There are a lot of Canadians whose families came from Ukraine, especially 100 years ago,
00:04:04.600 especially in the prairies, including my own family in 1903.
00:04:08.140 But without names on the map, I wouldn't bet my life that I'd get Ukraine right on a map.
00:04:15.880 It's not really an IQ test.
00:04:17.660 It's more of a trivia question.
00:04:20.420 I'm not saying Ukraine is trivial.
00:04:22.880 I'm saying it's just not relevant to the lives of most people in America.
00:04:25.780 And I think a lot of people in Washington, D.C. are faking that it is of momentous importance to them
00:04:31.420 just to try and get Trump in this impeachment process,
00:04:33.860 which, by the way, has become a disaster for the Democrats and the media.
00:04:39.700 Trump's winning.
00:04:40.920 I mean, he's winning here.
00:04:41.840 He's winning on impeachment.
00:04:44.060 He's winning on witnesses.
00:04:45.220 So one of the rules in a courtroom is when you're winning is sit the hell down.
00:04:49.420 Don't talk.
00:04:50.780 And I think they wisely followed that advice.
00:04:53.760 Yeah.
00:04:54.980 Now, that clip with Don Lemon and the others, it turned about 20 seconds into it.
00:05:01.960 Rick Wilson, the never-Trump fake Republican, he switched.
00:05:06.120 I don't know if you noticed it.
00:05:06.940 He started off mocking the president.
00:05:09.040 But then he moved on to mocking, well, Americans, or at least the 63 million Americans who voted for Trump.
00:05:17.480 That's a lot of people.
00:05:19.520 And sure, some were smart and some were dumb.
00:05:21.780 But CNN had a good laugh at all of them, called them rubes, said they have trouble with things like reading.
00:05:29.780 And that fake Southern accent was quite something, especially coming from Rick Wilson, who himself is from the South.
00:05:37.340 I think Tallahassee is considered the South.
00:05:39.920 I don't know.
00:05:42.340 It's sure moved from mocking Trump to mocking Southerners, blue-collar workers.
00:05:47.240 Anyone too dumb to find Ukraine on a map?
00:05:49.860 Hey, real talk for a second.
00:05:54.000 Do you actually think Don Lemon could find Ukraine on this map?
00:05:59.720 How about Belarus?
00:06:02.000 Do you think he'd find that?
00:06:02.820 How about Romania?
00:06:03.700 How about Bulgaria?
00:06:05.220 Do you think he could find even Turkey on this?
00:06:07.120 Do you think, would you bet your life on it?
00:06:12.100 No.
00:06:13.620 Now, I like to laugh and I like to insult politicians, especially Justin Trudeau.
00:06:17.520 I pull my remaining hair out when I think of the fact that 33% of Canadians voted for Justin Trudeau last time.
00:06:25.160 I don't think I'd call all of them stupid, although a lot of them probably are.
00:06:29.880 I don't know.
00:06:30.800 I think most liberals actually have a good reason to vote liberal.
00:06:36.400 It's not that they're dumb.
00:06:38.300 Actually, they're smart about it.
00:06:39.980 They like the welfare state.
00:06:41.500 They feel good when Trudeau attacks the oil patch and says climate action a lot because it actually doesn't cost them any jobs.
00:06:51.640 It just costs those Albertans jobs.
00:06:53.960 I think liberal voters are afraid of conservatives because the media demonizes them.
00:06:58.700 Those are all different than saying liberals are stupid.
00:07:02.340 But I think it matters that this CNN clip, well, CNN's the flagship liberal news channel.
00:07:11.660 They're the original 24-hour global news channel.
00:07:15.240 It's pumped into airports around America and up here in Canada, too.
00:07:18.660 A lot of Canadians watch CNN more than watch CBC News World.
00:07:21.380 And, unfortunately, that is shown around the world as a reflection of what America is instead of a left-wing caricature of America.
00:07:32.200 CNN calls itself the most trusted name in news.
00:07:35.720 It's not, but they say it anyways.
00:07:38.040 I do think it matters that CNN mocks 63 million voters as stupid and really goes for the caricatures.
00:07:46.560 Oh, dumb, something, actually, I have trouble reading.
00:07:49.820 I mean, three years of demonizing Trump.
00:07:53.380 And, look, he's still at, what, 50%, 51% support?
00:07:56.460 Why aren't those 63 million rubes listening to Don Lemon and Rick Wilson?
00:08:01.120 I love how they call Wilson a Republican strategist.
00:08:04.040 I tried to find evidence that he's worked on a Republican campaign in the past 20 years.
00:08:11.320 I couldn't.
00:08:12.360 Maybe he has, but it's pretty good kept secret if he has.
00:08:14.840 But CNN loves having him on the channel because it shows that even Republicans hate Donald Trump.
00:08:22.320 Yeah, no, Wilson has published two books attacking Trump.
00:08:28.160 He's like the fake bad guy in wrestling who you bring in because you know he's going to lose.
00:08:33.680 He's a patsy.
00:08:34.680 This is who CNN chooses as their Republican panelists.
00:08:38.640 He's not really a Republican.
00:08:39.880 He's happy to laugh at grassroots Republican voters.
00:08:44.740 In fact, he was the one who led the mockery of the Republicans as dumb yokels, this Republican.
00:08:51.960 In fact, Donald Trump's support amongst Republicans is around the 90% mark.
00:08:59.560 So I'm guessing there is literally no one in America who believes Rick Wilson is actually a Republican, or at least none that listened to him.
00:09:11.220 Now, that's all American stuff, and maybe you've never even heard of those three people before.
00:09:16.600 Fair enough.
00:09:18.420 But do you doubt that is exactly how it is up here with our media party?
00:09:23.720 Do you doubt it?
00:09:24.260 Well, I'm here to tell you it is exactly the same up here, and I have proof in the form of the latest Angus Reid poll.
00:09:32.120 Here it is.
00:09:32.920 It's their poll on social values.
00:09:35.200 Now, I'm going to skip over the stuff about gay rights and abortion and go straight to the last question they ask.
00:09:40.600 Trust in media.
00:09:41.560 Let me read from their website.
00:09:42.480 The percentage of Canadians saying they generally trust the media coverage that they see is unchanged from 2016, but that is hardly good news for mainstream news organizations.
00:09:53.840 Just half of respondents say that they feel the news media does a good job of presenting the facts.
00:10:01.040 And then they have this graph.
00:10:02.820 So it's pretty much the same as it was in 2016.
00:10:05.120 It's within the margin of error.
00:10:08.100 But look, the fact's the fact.
00:10:09.280 Half of Canadians simply don't trust the media.
00:10:12.720 Now, look at the wording there.
00:10:13.860 Look at the wording on the bottom left.
00:10:16.720 51% of Canadians say,
00:10:20.120 most of the stories you see in the news can't be trusted.
00:10:26.040 I think the most shocking word there is most, as in the majority of the thing, not even just the occasional thing.
00:10:37.320 Most of the things in the news can't be trusted.
00:10:39.540 I think that's shocking.
00:10:41.640 Angus Reid didn't ask, do you trust everything you see in the media?
00:10:45.940 I mean, no one would trust everything, right?
00:10:48.960 But half of Canadians think the majority.
00:10:52.080 You tell me three things, two are not going to be true.
00:10:54.200 That's how bad the reputation of the mainstream media is in Canada.
00:10:58.260 Half of Canadians think the majority of what they're being told is untrustworthy.
00:11:02.060 That is a stunning number, isn't it?
00:11:05.440 But the next chart from Angus Reid gives it away.
00:11:08.740 People don't distrust the media because they get facts wrong in any random way.
00:11:13.820 Like, you know, a typographical error, like a true accident, pure chance.
00:11:18.480 No.
00:11:18.740 People distrust the media because the media gets the facts wrong in a deliberate, biased way, a pattern, the same way every time.
00:11:28.920 A left-wing way.
00:11:30.760 That's an important moral difference.
00:11:32.760 If someone accidentally got, I don't know, the weather wrong or a sports score wrong,
00:11:38.600 you might think, oh, they just made a mistake.
00:11:40.460 We all make mistakes.
00:11:41.260 It's just a mistake.
00:11:41.940 Don't get mad.
00:11:43.820 But when the mistake goes only one way, the same way every time,
00:11:51.480 it's not really a mistake then, is it?
00:11:53.320 It's a deception.
00:11:55.740 It's deliberate.
00:11:57.160 And take a look.
00:11:58.480 Look at this.
00:11:59.780 This is from Angus Reid.
00:12:01.540 Conservatives know it, and liberals and NDPers know it too.
00:12:06.120 We can all see that the media tilts left.
00:12:09.460 So, as you can see, on the far left there, on average, half of us hate the media.
00:12:14.380 It's actually 72% of conservatives who hate the media.
00:12:19.060 But look at that.
00:12:20.040 67% of liberals love the media.
00:12:23.740 It's a little bit more mixed for NDPers on the right,
00:12:26.800 which shows that it's not just an ideological bias in the media.
00:12:30.800 It's a partisan bias.
00:12:32.880 They just love Justin Trudeau.
00:12:34.420 They're playing personal favorites.
00:12:36.620 I mean, you knew that already, but now you have the polling data.
00:12:39.080 I think it's the same in the United States.
00:12:40.540 I think that actually true diehard socialists who love Bernie Sanders,
00:12:46.120 I think they're frustrated by the CNNs of the world, for example,
00:12:49.920 who stuck a knife in Sanders last time for Hillary Clinton's benefit
00:12:53.240 and are doing it again this time for anyone but Bernie.
00:12:56.360 So, I think it's the same up here for Trudeau as it is down there.
00:13:02.300 Now, I find this all to be good news in a perverse way.
00:13:05.960 It's terrible news, of course, that the media is so biased.
00:13:09.160 That it's not healthy.
00:13:10.140 That's not fair.
00:13:11.060 I think it's a democracy problem.
00:13:12.960 But the good news is, you and me, we're not the only ones who notice.
00:13:19.100 Stay with us for more.
00:13:33.240 Welcome back.
00:13:34.120 Well, I am so proud of this next story.
00:13:36.140 True investigative journalism, almost like a piece of detective work.
00:13:40.900 Our friend Sheila Gunn-Reed, our chief reporter, found some anomalies in an access to information request.
00:13:48.640 And instead of just glossing it over or turning a blind eye, she dug deeper and followed her hunch.
00:13:55.060 And I think we've got a national scale scoop.
00:13:57.560 Joining us now via Skype from her base in northern Alberta is our friend Sheila Gunn-Reed.
00:14:02.680 Sheila, congratulations.
00:14:04.220 Great to have you back on the show.
00:14:05.420 Tell our viewers what you discovered that no other journalist in Canada even tried to discover.
00:14:13.020 Well, you know, we have to go back a little bit.
00:14:16.160 You know, the liberals are constantly bragging about, you know, what a bunch of feminists they are.
00:14:20.140 And it's really just a cover-up for their bad behavior towards women.
00:14:24.660 And, you know, Freeland, Chrystia Freeland, she's been bragging every chance she gets in the Financial Times.
00:14:31.760 She's Justin Trudeau's photographer, or one of Justin Trudeau's photographers, constantly posting pictures of her riding a bike and saying that she always rides a bike.
00:14:41.540 So we thought, okay, let's pull her ministerial limo and travel records, which we did because we thought it would be a good story about how this person who constantly rides a bike isn't actually riding a bike at all.
00:14:54.120 And I found some very, very long limo rides, like very long, like in between Edmonton and Calgary distance-wise.
00:15:03.460 Some days, 600 kilometers, 700 kilometers in the limo.
00:15:07.200 That's crazy.
00:15:08.080 So I thought one of...
00:15:08.760 That's, I mean, if you're going the speed limit, that's like seven hours in a car.
00:15:15.440 I don't, that's really weird for Captain, you know, Miss Bicycling Champion.
00:15:21.000 So you saw these anomalies, it proved your small thesis, which is these guys are lying about global warming, but you went one step further.
00:15:31.240 Yeah.
00:15:32.000 So I thought, okay, these distances are really crazy, and they're distances that normally we would see a politician taking a plane to get to, because for them time is very important, but our money isn't.
00:15:46.880 So, you know, my thesis was, okay, she's either using the ministerial limo instead of a plane, or even crazier, she's actually taking the plane and having her ministerial transportation come up empty, drive her around, and go back empty.
00:16:06.720 So to write off my crazier assumption, I started going through Minister Freeland's flight records, and instead of writing off my assumption, I proved it right.
00:16:16.500 She has been, especially to places like Montreal, she has been, especially to places like Montreal, flying up, and we have her flight records, we see her flight expenses, so we know she did it.
00:16:26.720 She's flying up to places like Montreal, and having her ministerial limo drive up empty, drive her around, and then drive back empty, while she flies both ways and charges the taxpayer for both.
00:16:40.960 In a way, you've got to admit, that's actually so crazy and awesome, that's like quadruple the carbon footprint of anyone else, that's so insane, to have a car go up ahead, to pre-position it, just to squire you around town.
00:17:01.240 By the way, I think cabinet ministers should have a driver, I don't want them getting into accidents, I want them working in the car, but use an Uber, call an Uber for $40 or $50, having a driver drive six hours just to get there, scooch you around town, and then drive back six hours while you're in the plane.
00:17:26.180 I don't even think rock stars do that, like I don't think, I think rock stars hire a local car, they don't bring their favorite car and driver 700 kilometers, and say, oh hey, how was your drive?
00:17:39.220 I just, I have never in my life actually heard of this ultra-high carbon practice before, forget about the carbon, the cost of it, the wear and tear, the insanity of it.
00:17:51.900 I've just never heard of this behavior before.
00:17:53.920 Well, the wear and tear on the car, the, I mean, you've got to pay a driver a full day to drive you around, you know, to drive back by himself, to drive up by himself, just the sheer audacity of it all.
00:18:09.860 She really is behaving like a rock star.
00:18:12.140 And all the while, preening in the media, telling the Financial Times, she never drives a car, she doesn't drive a car, having one of the PMO's photographers post pictures of her riding a bike, she claims to ride a bike in January, sorry sister, maybe you've got your bike in the limo.
00:18:35.200 I don't know what's going on there, but she sure doesn't think that it's the climate emergency Catherine McKenna keeps telling us it is.
00:18:42.700 You know, they say a fish rots from the head down, and people look to the head to set the corporate culture.
00:18:49.860 Stephen Harper really lived modestly as prime minister.
00:18:55.140 Obviously, he took the government jet and driver for security reasons alone, but he was really minimalistic in his approach.
00:19:03.420 Trudeau is lavish, 17-day private jet vacations in Costa Rica, mooching off the Aga Khan.
00:19:11.200 Trudeau really leads by example in a bad way.
00:19:15.000 So I think that's what it is.
00:19:16.440 I think the whole cabinet just watches in shock and awe as Trudeau rings out every penny he can brazenly, and they say, oh, yeah, well, that's how the boss is, and we're deputy boss, so why not?
00:19:31.120 It's throw another bale of $100 bills on the fire.
00:19:34.240 It's not our money.
00:19:35.200 I think that this is Trudeau's lifestyle sloshing over to cabinet, and I bet she's not the only one, by the way.
00:19:43.540 Yeah, you mean, Mr. Two planes on the campaign trail, one plane just for luggage, is setting a bad example for the rest of cabinet?
00:19:53.020 That is unbelievable, Ezra.
00:19:54.980 Yeah, we are going to dig a little deeper, because I think some of the Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa MPs, I think a lot of this is happening,
00:20:06.380 where they're flying and then having the limos come up, drive them around, because they can't be bothered to install the Uber app and save the taxpayer a couple bucks.
00:20:14.680 So I'm going to keep looking.
00:20:16.340 There are some cabinet ministers on my list of ones to check out.
00:20:20.520 It's just going to take some time to get the original documents back from the ministries involved.
00:20:26.580 Yeah, I bet once they see this interview, they'll try and get those shredders going, and they'll probably shred a lot of the documents,
00:20:32.600 but we've already got enough to know this is going on.
00:20:35.520 Sheila, great work.
00:20:36.380 Thank you for this national class scoop.
00:20:39.560 I predict, just going out on a limb here, the CBC will not follow this story.
00:20:48.040 No, me neither.
00:20:49.520 I think some of our friends in some of conservative media will probably pick it up, but CBC, forget about it.
00:20:57.640 You know what, I've got to throw in one anecdote here.
00:21:01.340 About 10 years ago, I don't know if you know this, Sheila, I was invited, I know this sounds crazy, about 10 years ago,
00:21:08.740 I was invited to speak to the board of the CBC.
00:21:11.680 Have I ever told you this story?
00:21:14.040 No.
00:21:14.420 I couldn't believe it either, and the board was meeting in New Brunswick, which is a delightful province, one of my favorites,
00:21:23.220 and there's not a lot of flights flying from Toronto to, I was going Calgary, Toronto, I think it was Fredericton.
00:21:32.240 So not a lot of planes going in, so I happened to be in the same airplane as the president of the CBC at the time.
00:21:41.660 And I was on my best behavior, because he had invited me to make sort of the conservative case to the board.
00:21:47.720 So I was on my best behavior, I wasn't going to be rude, but I was on the plane with him.
00:21:52.220 So we both land at the airport in, it was Fredericton, I'm pretty sure.
00:21:58.780 And Fredericton is a smallish city in a smallish province, and I was going to get just a regular taxi.
00:22:06.720 As God is my witness, I swear, Sheila, the president of the CBC had the only stretch limousine in Fredericton waiting for him there.
00:22:20.940 And he said, here, hop a ride with me.
00:22:23.620 So I did.
00:22:25.400 And we go to the hotel, and I think it was a Radisson.
00:22:29.620 You know, whatever.
00:22:31.360 You know, it's a hotel, it's a hotel, you're just sleeping, it's already late.
00:22:33.780 So we both check in together, because they booked me in the hotel, and they booked me in a regular room.
00:22:39.600 And I swear, as God is my witness, he was staying in the presidential suite.
00:22:49.100 That is a true story I saw with my own eyes.
00:22:54.160 That is how they all live on our dime.
00:22:57.600 It's not just the carbon footprint.
00:23:00.780 It's the extravagance.
00:23:03.780 I mean, it was a half-hour ride from the airport.
00:23:06.120 You didn't need a stretch limo.
00:23:07.840 You're by yourself.
00:23:09.500 You didn't need the presidential suite.
00:23:12.060 It's like midnight.
00:23:13.260 You're tired.
00:23:13.820 You're going straight to bed.
00:23:15.260 But just to know he could do it, he did it.
00:23:19.340 That's the culture in Ottawa.
00:23:22.380 And obviously, I was never invited back to speak to the CBC again.
00:23:25.640 Well, you know, I don't begrudge anybody their own extravagance fees if they want to pay for it themselves.
00:23:34.820 Oh, that's my point.
00:23:35.700 Is this guy, this was not on his dime.
00:23:38.060 Oh, let me be crystal clear.
00:23:39.040 Oh, no.
00:23:39.560 This was a board meeting.
00:23:42.760 The CBC rotates its board meetings around the country.
00:23:45.660 It was in Fredericton, which is why we were going out there.
00:23:48.860 And I was happy to go out there, but even in Fredericton, he's just got alerted over everyone on taxpayers' dime.
00:23:56.540 It was so, so gross.
00:23:59.380 Thank you for letting me tell that story.
00:24:01.860 And I bet the CBC lives exactly the same.
00:24:05.140 I bet you it's not just cabinet ministers.
00:24:06.960 I bet you tons of agencies and boards and commissions all do the same thing, Sheila.
00:24:14.040 Remember when we uncovered the story of the water taxis?
00:24:17.300 We had low-level bureaucrats just shuttling around in water taxis.
00:24:21.460 We uncovered that in some expenses.
00:24:23.560 I think it was for Finance Minister Bill Morneau's department.
00:24:26.300 Oh, right.
00:24:26.600 They all do this.
00:24:27.520 Right, right.
00:24:28.520 They all do this, and it comes down from the top.
00:24:31.300 And, you know, if we ever get a conservative government in Ottawa, they have to commit to draining the Ottawa swamp and weeding out all these people who have been getting fat at the trough.
00:24:41.900 Yeah.
00:24:42.580 Well, Sheila, great work, and thank you for letting me tell a very long anecdote, but I just couldn't help it because I have seen this with my eyes.
00:24:49.680 I have seen this with my own eyes, and I wanted to tell you that it's probably rampant.
00:24:54.140 Great work, and I agree with you.
00:24:56.860 I don't think a single mainstream media will pick up this story, which is why people come to the rebel.
00:25:01.800 It's the only place to get it.
00:25:02.900 Take care, my friend.
00:25:04.740 Thanks, Debra.
00:25:05.420 All right.
00:25:05.960 There you have it.
00:25:06.520 Sheila Gunn-Reed, National Scoop.
00:25:08.900 Hard work, detective work.
00:25:11.120 She found it out.
00:25:12.880 Stay with us.
00:25:13.520 More ahead.
00:25:13.860 Hey, welcome back to my monologue yesterday about Trudeau's response to the coronavirus.
00:25:28.340 Joseph writes,
00:25:30.200 Trudeau seriously admires China and trusts Chinese propaganda films.
00:25:34.900 Yeah, you know, I went down to New York very briefly and got back this morning, and I arrived at the airport, and a lot of the airport staff are wearing those face masks, but they're not stopping planes disgorging thousands of passengers from China.
00:25:55.340 I was asked, have you gone to China in the last two weeks, and I said no, but there were literally airplanes landing with thousands of people who came directly from China, and they're just being let in.
00:26:10.400 So it's so strange.
00:26:13.400 You have airport staff wearing masks, but not stopping people from coming in.
00:26:17.720 You're asking me from, I was flying in from New York, were you in China?
00:26:23.260 I said no, I don't know what would have happened.
00:26:24.860 If I would have said yes, it would have been interesting to find out.
00:26:28.000 But you let in planes directly from China.
00:26:30.860 There's no plan here.
00:26:32.820 There is no plan.
00:26:34.760 Even though this has been a live issue for days, if not weeks, I'm worried.
00:26:40.160 I'm worried.
00:26:41.860 Frank writes, I have a business where I transport people from all over the world.
00:26:45.600 Trust me, there are some climate change nuts who would love nothing more than to see a pandemic knock our population down by 50%.
00:26:52.540 I've heard them say it out loud.
00:26:55.520 You're referring to that quack political journalist in Quebec who said this will be great, reduce our carbon footprint.
00:27:04.700 Well, remember, you and I are made of carbon.
00:27:07.760 That's sort of a dumb thing to say, but we are a carbon-based life form.
00:27:10.320 Carbon is just the sea.
00:27:11.240 You know, what we eat, CH, like take the sea, the carbon, the hydrogen, throw in some oxygen.
00:27:17.120 You have pretty much every single thing we're made of, every single thing we eat.
00:27:21.940 We're carbon-based life forms.
00:27:23.380 So if you were so crazy that you think carbon is evil, well, then you think this whole world is evil, including us.
00:27:30.380 It's just kooks, absolute kookiness.
00:27:32.680 On my interview with Barbara Kaye, Lou writes,
00:27:36.560 I wish Barbara Kaye was right that the transgender madness is waning in 2020.
00:27:40.760 Sadly, children in too many elementary schools will be taught the dangerous and confusing ideology, including Ontario.
00:27:46.240 On top of that, there are aggressive activist groups such as Get Real and Unlearn that use tax money to run workshops in schools.
00:27:53.560 If the harmful world of gender make-believe, this has to stop.
00:27:57.480 Yeah, I like Barbara very much, and she's in Montreal, so she went to this event,
00:28:03.100 and I think she was just so surprised that it was allowed that I think she's extrapolating from that one event to the larger cultural battle.
00:28:13.340 I can tell you, other than that one anecdote, which I acknowledge, I don't see any positive changes at all.
00:28:21.220 In fact, as I said to Barbara, when our Kaye and Bextie was live-tweeting about the Yaniv trial,
00:28:29.920 it was so clear that someone at Twitter was observing him in real time,
00:28:33.880 because after each tweet, he would be suspended unless he did...
00:28:37.980 Like, I've never seen it before.
00:28:40.060 I've never seen censorship that totalistic.
00:28:44.920 Totalitarian, I guess is the word.
00:28:46.840 Yeah, we're not done the worst of it yet.
00:28:48.320 Well, folks, that's the show for today.
00:28:52.340 Until tomorrow, on behalf of all of us here at Rebel World Headquarters, good night,
00:28:56.180 and keep fighting for freedom.
00:28:57.220 We'll see you next time.
00:29:14.680 We'll see you next time.
