00:09:52.180 tingling about this. You know, this is supposed to be an act invoked, as the title would say,

00:09:58.880 Sheila, in terms of a dire emergency that would affect the health and safety of Canadians.

00:10:06.100 This was something that wasn't even invoked in 9-11, if you can imagine. And yet it's peaceful

00:10:13.640 protesters, truckers on Parliament Hill, that is causing Justin Trudeau enormous amounts of

00:10:21.320 embarrassment. And, you know, in getting world attention of him being a laughingstock. And also,

00:10:31.220 let's talk about that Maru poll that came out just a few days ago, based on his actions of the last

00:10:37.700 two weeks. His popularity is now 16%. Yeah, so who's the fringe minority now, Sheila? But I think

00:10:49.260 these are the real reasons for him invoking this. He is vindictive. I think he's borderline

00:10:58.740 psychopathic, and not in a killing way, but in terms of his personality, in terms of his ego.

00:11:06.480 And he is lashing out at salt of the earth Canadians involved in a peaceful protest. There's no

00:11:14.320 emergency. There's no natural disaster. There's no outbreak of cholera or what have you. And I guess

00:11:21.520 what, you know, directly tied to that, I assume, Sheila, is the resignation of the Ottawa Police

00:11:27.680 Chief. Since that's the most breaking news on this, what do you think is the unspoken reason

00:11:32.680 for Chief Slally saying, that's it, I'm out of here?

00:11:36.320 I think we're going to find out in the next couple of hours. But if I had to guess,

00:11:41.680 he doesn't want to do the things that the feds want him to do. That's what I think. I think

00:11:47.520 stealing the fuel was probably as far as the Ottawa Police, at least the chief, was willing to go.

00:11:58.300 But I think that the feds are probably asking him to do things that he's not willing to do.

00:12:02.520 And up until the time, like you could tell there was a point at which the Ottawa Police were acting

00:12:09.040 normally. And then you could almost tell if you follow their Twitter timeline, when they started

00:12:14.340 getting leaned on by the feds. And you could tell there was a change in tone. And I think all things

00:12:24.740 considered, they've been pretty forthcoming to debunk internet rumors. So when people were saying

00:12:33.340 this is violent, this is a violent occupation, the Ottawa Police would put out a tweet saying,

00:12:40.740 actually, it's not. We don't have any reports of anything that you're saying. When there was that

00:12:47.260 fake arson that both Kelly investigated journalistically in a written piece and then Alexa

00:12:54.040 did from on the ground, when the left spread a complete and total lie that people related to

00:13:01.060 the convoy pulled the old Jussie Smollett. They basically said they tried to start an arson in

00:13:08.800 an apartment building and lock people in the building. The police chief said, we're looking

00:13:15.860 for people because we can see on the security footage that they did it. But there's no evidence

00:13:20.920 that these are these people are related to the convoy. So as much as they've been leaned on the Ottawa

00:13:26.760 police by the feds, and they've done some crazy things, thanks to that pressure from the feds.

00:13:33.240 I yeah, this is what I'm talking about. I wonder if their subway sandwiches made it out of the arson,

00:13:38.340 okay, if you know what I mean. But I think this police chief is resigning, because not because

00:13:46.220 he failed his city, but because he doesn't want to do the things the feds want him to do.

00:13:52.380 I think it might be right, Sheila. And I'll give you that point about the Ottawa police debunking some

00:13:58.020 of the more outrageous rumors. But on the same, on the other hand, I should say, when I was in Ottawa

00:14:05.180 two weekends ago, and they put out that press release, noting that 400 more than 450 charges

00:14:13.060 had been levied in one weekend against the demonstrators. And you go, Oh, that sounds serious.

00:14:18.720 And then you drill down and you look parking tickets. Yeah. Improper muffler window auto automobile

00:14:25.600 windows tinted too darkly seatbelt violations. You know, I think they were kind of ginning things

00:14:33.520 up. But more disturbingly, Sheila, I think that was helped along with our friend Bill Blair, though.

00:14:39.400 I honestly think the feds were leaning pretty hard on the Ottawa police. Now it is their job to represent

00:14:45.180 the city of Ottawa and not Bill Blair's failing role as public safety minister. But I think in

00:14:52.280 fairness, I think that they were leaned on pretty heavy by the feds there too. Yeah. Look at this.

00:15:29.080 then the next day forming kennel operations where they were arresting Torontonians just going about

00:15:36.160 their business. If you were in the wrong place at the wrong time, you were arrested, detained,

00:15:41.020 handcuffed. What a disaster. By the way, Bill Blair, just let folks know, he represents a Scarborough

00:15:47.620 riding, probably, you know, a higher than average crime rate than the rest of the city, which is why

00:15:54.200 Bill Blair doesn't even live in his own riding. He lives in Tony upper class Forest Hill. Yeah. So

00:16:01.100 there's your former police chief, your public safety minister, seems a little gun shy when it comes to

00:16:08.360 dealing with some of the own constituents of his riding. And of course, in addition to that, that was a

00:16:15.340 horrible event, the elderly man being treated so violently. But what sticks a micro to about bad

00:16:22.800 behavior by the Ottawa police, Sheila, was the confiscation of jerrycans. I don't even know.

00:16:29.540 It's a question for our lawyers. I'm not saying I have the answer. But I don't even know if they're on

00:16:33.980 firm ground, especially prior to the Emergency Services Act being invoked to confiscate people's

00:16:42.480 private property from private automobiles or on public streets or what have you. So that has to be

00:16:49.340 tested in court. So yeah, on one hand, they did their fair share of debunking crazy rumors, but

00:16:54.580 also a bit of egregious behavior on the other hand. Oh, for sure. That stealing the jerrycans,

00:17:01.360 I think, was probably the worst, unless we count roughing up that nice old man that Lincoln did a

00:17:08.320 really, really great report on. And we are helping him fight his ticket that he received through the

00:17:16.440 democracy fund. Speaking of crime, is there a drug problem in Ottawa? Do you know? Are you referring to

00:17:25.160 Ms. Freeland? Yeah, because she looks like she's on meth. Should we run that video? So she looked like she was

00:17:32.440 tweaking yesterday. Like she's going to go home, take apart her toaster, put it back together,

00:19:42.980 I spoke to one person. She said, I gave 50 bucks to the Freedom Convoy, came out of my bank.

00:19:52.300 Does that put me on a list? Is there some bureaucracy or somebody at the CRA that is going

00:19:58.820 to red flag me for this donation, linking my donation to terrorist, air quotes, you know,

00:20:06.440 because that's what these people are being labeled, Sheila, as you know, economic terrorists. Funny

00:21:11.260 to the Trucker Convoy, phone your bank, ask to speak to the manager if you can, record the call,

00:21:25.580 the PR optics of a little old lady somewhere in Saskatchewan having her bank account frozen

00:21:32.780 because she gave 20 bucks to the Trucker Convoy are brutal and perhaps even illegal if challenged.

00:24:53.380 out to move these large rigs. In Windsor, we relied on generous partnership with the Americans

00:25:05.620 to be able to get tow trucks to move the big trucks. Now, with these measures that we've put

00:25:13.820 in place, there will be an ability to compel, for just compensation, tow truck owners and operators

00:25:22.200 to actually do the jobs for which they have contracts with various orders of government

00:25:27.980 to keep highways and roads clear.

00:25:36.020 I was just going to say, since I just got back hours ago from Windsor, Ontario, the end of the

00:25:41.980 blockade of the Ambassador Bridge, I can tell you in the end game, I only saw one big rig tow.

00:25:52.180 line to see where the plates were. So I don't know if it came from the U.S. side of the border

00:25:57.280 or not. Secondly, what's very interesting about Windsor right now, they've cleared the bridge.

00:26:06.700 It opened very late Sunday night, I presume after the Super Bowl, so everybody could watch the big

00:26:12.900 game. But here's the thing, Sheila. The major thoroughfare is Huron Church. That was actually where

00:26:19.260 our hotel was situated on. And what they did late Sunday night was the law enforcement,

00:26:26.360 that is, with city trucks, they put these giant concrete barriers on Huron Church, preventing,

00:26:33.300 so Huron Church is north-south. There's major east-west thoroughfares. You cannot cross that

00:26:41.420 major street. In other words, Huron Church is now a humongous on-ramp to the Ambassador Bridge. In other

00:26:51.040 words, the only traffic on there means you're going to the U.S. You can't turn off of it. And I'll tell

00:26:58.060 you something, Sheila. An odd thing has happened. And by the way, why they've done that, law enforcement,

00:27:03.220 is they don't want protesters to come back and interfere and set up shop again. And so I couldn't

00:27:10.760 help the perverse irony here. People in Windsor were complaining about a trucker convoy blockade

00:27:19.520 hurting their businesses. And effectively, it's been replaced by a law enforcement blockade. And if you

00:27:27.900 think I'm exaggerating, you know, Sheila, on the way back to Toronto, I was listening to their AM

00:27:32.260 news talk station. And it was a gentleman who phoned in, get a load of this. He's a florist.

00:27:39.060 This took effect on Valentine's Day. His voice was quivering because his customers can't get to his

00:27:47.300 shop on the number one day for a florist, Valentine's Day. So, you know, and he said, I love the city of

00:27:56.280 Windsor. I love the people, but what can I do? And your heart has to go out to someone like that

00:28:02.820 and the other merchants. I went to a, and I've got video of this. I went to a Tim Hortons at

00:28:08.220 lunchtime on Huron Church. I was the only customer. By the way, I had to get there by foot

00:42:15.940 Squamish woman who died and then later on her 12 year old niece who ran away from him when she turned 15.
