Sheila Gunn-Reid s scoop about how the CBC handles racism and sexism on their website is quite something. And the lengths they go to protect Wendy Mansley after she was accused of using the N-word is shocking.

00:00:00.000 My Rebels, today I take you through Sheila Gunn-Reid's scoop,
00:00:03.760 42 pages of internal emails from the CBC
00:00:07.160 about how to handle commenters on their website
00:00:10.640 that they don't like.
00:00:11.920 It's quite something.
00:00:13.180 And the lengths they go to protect Wendy Mansley
00:00:15.620 after she was dropping the N-word is shocking.
00:00:19.100 I'll give you some new thoughts on that too,
00:00:21.080 but Sheila gets the big points for the scoop.
00:00:25.040 Before I get to that part of the podcast,
00:00:27.260 let me invite you to become a subscriber
00:00:28.940 to the TV version of the podcast we call Rebel News Plus.
00:00:32.320 Eight bucks a month, which is not too bad.
00:00:34.680 Eighty bucks a year, if you pay in advance, that's a bargain.
00:00:37.920 And you get my show, Sheila Gunn-Reid's show,
00:00:39.960 David Menzies' show, Andrew Chapitro's show,
00:00:41.860 and the satisfaction of supporting
00:00:43.920 Canada's largest independent media outlet.
00:00:46.440 We don't take a dime from Trudeau.
00:00:48.540 Here's to this show.
00:00:53.980 You're listening to a Rebel News Podcast.
00:00:58.940 Tonight, the CBC is absolutely paranoid
00:01:07.240 about what ordinary Canadians think of it.
00:01:09.860 I'll show you their internal emails.
00:01:11.780 It's June 16th, and this is The Answer for LeVance Show.
00:01:14.200 Why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon consumer I know?
00:01:19.980 There's 8,500 customers here, and you won't give them an answer.
00:01:24.060 The only thing I have to say to the government about why I publish it
00:01:27.580 is because it's my bloody right to do so.
00:01:29.920 Sheila Gunn-Reid had a great scoop yesterday.
00:01:37.540 42 pages of internal CBC emails panicking about what Canadians think about them
00:01:45.760 and scheming ways to get Canadians to stop saying things the CBC didn't want them to say.
00:01:53.500 You've never seen a more thin-skinned, hypersensitive, politically correct bunch of censors than the CBC.
00:01:59.800 They really are gross, and reading the emails, you can feel cancel culture and action.
00:02:05.280 They're canceling you and anyone else like you who would criticize them.
00:02:09.420 It's super gross.
00:02:10.700 If you haven't seen Sheila's report on the subject, I really encourage you to do so.
00:02:14.680 You can find it on our website or on a special compilation page we've made called rebelinvestigates.com
00:02:21.240 that has a ton of interesting scoops, just like this one.
00:02:24.460 Real investigations, not just punditry, but real digging.
00:02:28.120 You know, it's funny, the Parliamentary Press Gallery, they've banned Rebel News and other conservative reporters,
00:02:34.420 even though it has a long history of accrediting state broadcasters from actual dictatorships, including China.
00:02:41.040 We object to that. We want to be accredited to report our own Parliament, but get real for a moment.
00:02:47.840 There are no press conferences on Parliament Hill where they hand out scoops like this,
00:02:52.020 where they invite you to look through 42 pages of secret emails.
00:02:56.140 If you're going to a government press conference, you're going to be given government talking points.
00:03:01.500 I suppose a real journalist could stand up and ask pointed questions,
00:03:05.580 but again, most of the Parliamentary Press Gallery are really just government journalists.
00:03:09.780 So really, government press conference, government journalists, you're not going to get news like that, are you?
00:03:17.120 So Sheila did a great job of going through these 42 pages, but I want to talk about just one part of it,
00:03:22.800 because I want to talk about how the CBC, which claims to be against racism and sexism,
00:03:29.280 they actually handle racism and sexism.
00:03:32.200 I want to show you how they do it, and this is going to shock you.
00:03:35.700 They're like Justin Trudeau.
00:03:38.600 He claims to be anti-racist, but he's dressed up in blackface so many times, he's lost count.
00:03:42.740 He claims to be for reconciliation with Aboriginal people,
00:03:46.280 except he fired Canada's first Indigenous justice minister for being too ethical.
00:03:51.040 He mocked people from a northern reserve with mercury poisoning in their water.
00:03:54.900 Remember this?
00:03:55.820 Thank you very much. Thank you for being here tonight.
00:03:58.080 Thank you.
00:03:58.600 People in Rocky Narrows are suffering from mercury poisoning.
00:04:02.800 Thank you.
00:04:03.960 Thank you for being here.
00:04:06.560 Thank you very much for your donation tonight.
00:04:09.000 I really appreciate the donation to the Liberal Party of Canada.
00:04:13.700 And of course, Trudeau claims to be a feminist.
00:04:15.800 But when he was asked about sexually assaulting a reporter named Rose Knight, remember he said this.
00:04:22.360 Responsible for my side of the interaction, which certainly, as I said, I don't feel was in any way untoward.
00:04:29.000 But at the same time, this lesson that we are learning in, and I'll be blunt about it,
00:04:35.720 often a man experiences an interaction as being benign or not inappropriate.
00:04:42.500 And a woman, particularly in a professional context, can experience it differently.
00:04:46.820 And we have to respect that.
00:04:48.300 So I know, total shocker, the CBC is the same.
00:04:51.280 They claim they're against sexism and especially against sexual violence.
00:04:55.500 But remember, when multiple women, not connected to each other, started making independent accusations
00:05:01.680 that the CBC star Xi'an Gomeshi was physically and sexually violent with them,
00:05:07.820 you'll recall what the CBC did.
00:05:10.660 Senior managers at the CBC set up a war room, a crisis management center,
00:05:16.180 not to solve the problem, not to investigate the problem and stop it and end the madness
00:05:20.940 and to dig into these complaints, but the opposite.
00:05:23.360 To dig up dirt on the accusers, to discredit the accusers.
00:05:28.420 Senior CBC spin doctors, many of whom are still there to this day,
00:05:32.160 instead of fighting against a violent sexist named Xi'an Gomeshi, they defended him.
00:05:37.880 They were on his side.
00:05:38.920 They lied for him.
00:05:39.960 They literally smeared his accusers.
00:05:42.380 It was the opposite of the Me Too movement.
00:05:44.520 Imagine working there at the CBC and thinking you're a feminist.
00:05:47.600 Well, that's what male feminists are all like.
00:05:50.620 Bill Clinton, Harvey Weinstein, Justin Trudeau, all the leftist men who say they're feminists.
00:05:56.680 They're just doing it as a trick, as a misdirection.
00:05:59.400 If you don't see that, you're blind.
00:06:01.420 But look at this about Wendy Mesley.
00:06:04.660 You know, Wendy Mesley is Peter Mansbridge's ex-wife.
00:06:08.140 That place has always been about nepotism, always has been.
00:06:13.780 Mesley was given a bizarre, obscure show about left-wing conspiracy theories called The Weekly.
00:06:20.120 It was just once a week, and it was really mopping up the leftovers of U.S. talk shows a week or two
00:06:25.860 after they were done, when something was newsy down there.
00:06:31.000 Maybe a month later, Wendy Mesley would pick it up.
00:06:33.400 Seriously, scrolling through her shows, you can see them here called The Weekly.
00:06:38.920 You'd wonder, why is this even on something called Canadian Broadcasting Corporation?
00:06:42.840 I mean, there were a few Canadian stories, for sure.
00:06:46.580 But mostly it was just left-wing conspiracy theories about American politics, especially about Trump.
00:06:52.200 Like, nothing was too kooky.
00:06:54.080 Like, could Don Jr. bring down the White House?
00:06:56.820 Or Stormy Daniels in Russia?
00:06:59.100 Or is Jared Kushner going to leave the White House?
00:07:02.000 Or is Rudy Giuliani going to get in trouble now?
00:07:05.620 I mean, there's a theme here.
00:07:07.240 We get it.
00:07:07.800 She hates Donald Trump.
00:07:09.440 There's another theme.
00:07:10.820 Every one of these stories is a little bit kooky, gossipy, conspiracy theory.
00:07:14.400 And none of them came true.
00:07:16.080 Yeah, sorry, no.
00:07:17.100 Don Jr. didn't bring down the White House.
00:07:19.200 Jerry Kushner didn't leave the White House.
00:07:20.960 Another theme is, this was all paid for by Canadian tax dollars.
00:07:24.800 And it had nothing to do with Canada.
00:07:27.660 Hey, I'm all for criticizing powerful politicians.
00:07:30.120 But why did Wendy Mensley never criticize, you know, Canada's powerful politicians?
00:07:36.380 The Prime Minister?
00:07:38.160 His advisors?
00:07:39.780 Wendy Mensley said more about Stormy Daniels than she did about Rose Knight, the woman Trudeau molested.
00:07:46.680 She said more about Don Jr.'s activities than about Trudeau's family activities, including
00:07:51.440 business deals that his brother had with the Chinese and Iranian dictatorships.
00:07:56.120 I wonder why Wendy Mensley never held Canadian politicians to account.
00:08:00.800 Gee, I wonder why.
00:08:02.160 So that's who she's been for the past few years.
00:08:05.240 She has a job for life there, as any ex of Peter Mansbridge would.
00:08:09.560 But it's just how it works there.
00:08:11.700 But her weird show was tucked away on a day and a time in the schedule where no one's really
00:08:16.660 watching the CBC.
00:08:17.960 And it was mercifully, just once a week.
00:08:21.040 Boy, was it kooky.
00:08:22.220 And she sure hated us.
00:08:24.640 The federal government cut your funding for research.
00:08:28.260 Rebel Media came in and did a crowdfunding project for you, raised about $200,000.
00:08:33.620 After Charlottesville and the riots, the protests there, many people cut ties with Rebel Media,
00:08:42.600 including the Conservative leader Andrew Scheer, saying that it could be seen as giving hate
00:08:47.320 groups a platform.
00:08:49.560 You still go on there.
00:08:51.500 So I'm wondering, why do you go on Rebel Media after Charlottesville?
00:08:56.060 But I do wonder, if you've noticed that Rebel Media, for example, does seem to be fond of you.
00:09:04.080 It's been accused, of course, of being supportive of white supremacist views.
00:09:07.860 Ezra Levant, they have a million subscribers on YouTube, 150,000 followers on Facebook.
00:09:16.420 Do you want his support?
00:09:18.480 Do you want his audience?
00:09:20.520 I never understood why Conservatives would go on that show.
00:09:22.800 Anyways, as you can see, Wendy Mansley made a living not only being a conspiracy theorist
00:09:28.420 of the hard left, but also by calling anyone she didn't like racist.
00:09:32.920 I won't get into all the examples, but it was a major theme of hers.
00:09:37.540 But how does that work when you, Wendy, are a woman of privilege who owes her position to
00:09:43.880 her first husband, who would have been retired a long time ago, and sorry to say it, how long
00:09:49.460 do you really think you're going to get away with it to be a woke anti-racism activist when
00:09:53.820 you are a basic white liberal woman?
00:09:57.480 I mean, how long do you think it's going to work for you before you wind up on your own
00:10:01.260 sword?
00:10:01.640 I mean, you're calling everyone racist just because when do you think you're going to
00:10:05.740 be vulnerable to that charge yourself?
00:10:08.300 Except for, in her case, it wouldn't be a false charge.
00:10:10.740 Incredibly, in staff meetings, Wendy Mansley would use the N-word, the derogatory swear
00:10:18.180 word against black people, repeatedly, despite people expressing their comfort with it.
00:10:22.380 Despite black people being in the room, she would use the N-word.
00:10:25.740 Who does that?
00:10:27.340 Who talks that way in private or in staff meetings?
00:10:31.300 What on earth?
00:10:32.160 Well, listen, Gian Gomeschi used the CBC as a giant conveyor belt for young, naive, desperate
00:10:40.120 women who would do anything to move up a rung on the ladder of showbiz.
00:10:44.520 He was a predator on them.
00:10:46.220 He used the CBC as a giant dating service, preying on audience members and interns.
00:10:51.680 I guess what I'm saying is the CBC condoned that sort of thing, defended that sort of thing
00:10:57.080 for Gian Gomeschi.
00:10:58.280 Why wouldn't they do it for Peter Mansbridge's ex?
00:11:00.380 And just to be clear, Wendy Mansley was not fired for saying the N-word.
00:11:07.340 She said the N-word repeatedly, and everyone in the CBC knew it.
00:11:11.900 She wasn't fired for it.
00:11:13.380 She was only suspended when it became public news.
00:11:17.200 Then she was suspended for it.
00:11:19.120 In the meantime, it was just like Gian Gomeschi.
00:11:21.060 They ran cover for her.
00:11:22.120 They made excuses for her, probably tried to discredit any black person or other ally who
00:11:26.440 said, yeah, maybe tone it down with a KKK talk, Wendy.
00:11:28.880 And to think she dared to call Jordan Peterson or Maxine Bernier intolerant.
00:11:34.500 But here's what Sheila Gunn-Reed found in those emails.
00:11:37.420 The CBC refused to publish in the news stories the N-word that Wendy Mansley kept saying in
00:11:44.560 meetings.
00:11:44.860 They refused to let the world know what she shamefully did.
00:11:49.160 They just never said what the word was.
00:11:51.320 They just refused to.
00:11:52.200 They thought they could pretend it was something else, that they could cover it up.
00:11:56.460 But when people in the comments section on the CBC website wrote it, when they did the
00:12:03.000 reporting that CBC was trying to stifle, those comments were immediately deleted.
00:12:08.340 The CBC said it broke the rules by being demonstrably false or a language that is potentially harmful.
00:12:15.280 Seriously, Wendy Mansley drops the N-word again and again.
00:12:19.380 The CBC keeps it a secret or tries to.
00:12:22.140 But anyone who mentions it, who does the reporting in the comments section, they're banned.
00:12:26.520 They're banned for being racist.
00:12:28.580 Even if they're reporting it as a fact, which they did, the fact that Wendy Mansley said it,
00:12:32.960 let that sink in.
00:12:33.820 They weren't reporting the news.
00:12:35.200 The second thing to know is that besides deleting comments from the public that told the truth,
00:12:46.740 the CBC simply were not going to report the story to vast swaths of their audience.
00:12:52.040 If I'm reading this email right, there wasn't a single story in Radio Canada.
00:12:56.220 That's RC.
00:12:56.960 That's what French language CBC is called, Radio Canada.
00:12:59.940 There wasn't a single story permitted in French about the N-word incidents.
00:13:05.200 Not one.
00:13:05.900 And nothing on socials.
00:13:07.080 That's what social media, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, whatever.
00:13:10.880 The CBC simply were pretending that the biggest racism scandal in recent memory in national journalism
00:13:18.420 just didn't happen.
00:13:21.240 They were just going to close their eyes and cover their ears and pretend it didn't happen
00:13:24.460 to protect their own.
00:13:25.920 To their chief accuser, their chief slanderer, who called everyone else racist,
00:13:32.580 they were protecting her.
00:13:33.540 And they're just getting started.
00:13:36.940 Look at this.
00:13:38.580 Just last night, here's CBC's chief censor, Brody Fenlon.
00:13:41.820 This is a news story.
00:13:43.360 This isn't from Access to Information.
00:13:44.820 This is in the CBC itself.
00:13:46.160 Why CBC is turning off Facebook comments on news posts for a month.
00:13:52.040 Social media attacks on our journalists and the subjects of our stories is something we take seriously.
00:13:56.440 For sure, just like Wendy Massey, she's allowed to attack you.
00:14:02.660 She's allowed to smear you, call you a racist.
00:14:06.040 You just can't talk back.
00:14:07.840 When they do an investigation, that's what they call it when they attack you.
00:14:12.500 That's an investigation.
00:14:13.620 When you attack them, it's an attack.
00:14:15.480 I love that.
00:14:16.160 Attacks on the subjects of our stories.
00:14:17.880 Again, the word attack is doing a lot of heavy lifting there.
00:14:20.260 I know what attacks on journalists look like.
00:14:24.380 Here's a left-wing radical named Dion Buse attacking Sheila Gunn-Reed.
00:14:28.880 Okay, so wouldn't you say that it would be dumb in it?
00:14:36.480 No, no, no, I'm just asking you a question.
00:14:38.080 Do I seem unreasonable to you?
00:14:39.600 Yes, you seem unreasonable to you.
00:14:40.380 Because I think I'm a pleasant.
00:14:42.060 I think, am I coming across as pleasant or anything?
00:14:44.120 Yeah, absolutely.
00:14:45.140 We're just trying to have a conversation here.
00:14:46.640 I'm having, I'm trying to have a conversation with you.
00:14:48.860 Go away.
00:14:49.560 Get out of your face.
00:14:50.840 I will break your camera.
00:14:51.700 You don't have the right to.
00:14:53.580 Whoa.
00:14:54.600 Let's calm down.
00:14:55.580 Calm down.
00:14:56.080 You don't have the right to film everywhere you go.
00:14:57.620 That's an attack.
00:15:02.840 Here's the Toronto police attacking our reporters.
00:15:06.460 Here's an attack.
00:15:07.560 You want to see an attack?
00:15:34.840 Here's the Montreal police attacking our reporters.
00:15:37.680 That's an attack.
00:15:42.900 I don't know what you're saying.
00:15:44.140 Why do you need?
00:15:44.680 Hey, hands off her.
00:15:46.320 Hands off her, man.
00:15:47.520 You don't feel big.
00:15:49.180 You don't feel big.
00:15:51.020 You don't feel big.
00:15:51.060 You don't know what you're saying.
00:15:52.520 You don't feel big.
00:15:54.360 You don't feel big.
00:15:55.140 You don't feel big.
00:15:55.420 You don't feel big.
00:15:55.800 You don't feel big.
00:15:56.320 You don't feel big.
00:15:57.280 You don't feel big.
00:15:57.660 You don't feel big.
00:15:59.320 You're pushing me with a bicycle.
00:16:01.260 What's your fucking bike then?
00:16:02.400 Are you kidding me?
00:16:03.340 What's your fucking bike?
00:16:04.040 Hey!
00:16:06.000 That's an attack.
00:16:07.580 What this clown Brody Fenlon in CBC means is not an attack.
00:16:12.700 He means mean words.
00:16:15.580 Mean comments.
00:16:17.160 That's what he's going to stamp out. What a loser.
00:16:20.060 There is ample evidence the mental health of many Canadians is fragile and in need of attention
00:16:25.080 after 16 months of pandemic lockdown, school closures and economic uncertainty.
00:16:29.880 Journalists are no different.
00:16:31.260 Some recent articles on the well-being of reporters tasked with covering a crisis they're also living through
00:16:36.340 have many of us looking in the mirror to take stock of our health.
00:16:40.580 Compounding the stress and anxiety of journalists is a vitriol of harassment
00:16:44.240 many of them face on social media platforms and, increasingly, in the field.
00:16:49.440 As Andre Picard wrote in a recent column,
00:16:51.620 For journalists, a platform like Twitter can be a great way to find sources and promote their work,
00:16:55.280 but also a cesspool of hatred.
00:16:58.020 Increasingly, reporters are also physically attacked.
00:17:00.280 Is that true?
00:17:01.300 It's true about rebel reporters.
00:17:03.020 I haven't seen a CBC reporter physically attacked.
00:17:05.500 I don't want them physically attacked.
00:17:08.540 But if by attacking you mean mean words, no one attacks Canadians more than the CBC.
00:17:12.520 No one pits Canadians against each other based on race or sex or sexuality or whatever more than the CBC.
00:17:21.840 They hate you.
00:17:23.000 They hate what the first letter C stands for their name.
00:17:25.640 Right now they're on a waging war against Canadian identity, against Canada, against John A. MacDonald.
00:17:32.220 They're the ones pitting us against each other.
00:17:34.540 They're the ones trafficking in conspiracy theories while they accuse everyone else of that.
00:17:40.340 Now they're saying they're attacked.
00:17:41.300 They're not attacked.
00:17:43.160 And they're sick of you complaining about them and their bitterness.
00:17:46.060 So instead of changing who they are and what they do, instead of looking in the mirror,
00:17:50.040 instead of providing more balance or reflecting on their own misconduct,
00:17:54.180 they're not just going to moderate comments anymore.
00:17:58.020 They're just deleting them altogether.
00:18:01.880 You ever been on Facebook?
00:18:03.100 Of course you have.
00:18:03.740 It's the most popular app in the world.
00:18:05.160 What's the point of Facebook?
00:18:07.320 It's interactive.
00:18:09.480 You can comment or like or share things.
00:18:12.160 Someone says something, you can speak out.
00:18:14.400 That's the fun of it.
00:18:16.140 So what's the point of Facebook with no comments?
00:18:18.260 The CBC wants you to be a passive receptor of their views.
00:18:23.340 No questions asked.
00:18:24.420 No objections allowed.
00:18:25.740 You can't talk back because that's a bigot's move.
00:18:28.880 They can attack you.
00:18:30.300 You can't criticize them.
00:18:31.680 No wonder no one listens to them anymore except one guy, Justin Trudeau.
00:18:36.680 And he's the only one they listen to.
00:18:38.420 Look, if one guy gave me $1.5 billion a year, he'd be pretty sure I'd listen to him.
00:18:45.000 I'm pretty sure I'd consider silencing any public riffraff who was mean to the guy giving me a billion and a half a year in the comments.
00:18:52.400 This isn't just the CBC silencing ordinary Canadians, so this is the CBC showing the template for everyone else in the media when Stephen Gilboa's new internet censorship rules come in.
00:19:05.920 No more comments from the little people.
00:19:08.980 This is how they'll all have to be.
00:19:10.560 Mark my words.
00:19:11.600 By the way, it was a small detail, but, you know, her show was canceled, Wendy Masley.
00:19:19.100 The Weekly was canceled.
00:19:20.160 It was a terrible show.
00:19:21.080 But she actually wasn't.
00:19:25.420 And judging by her Twitter feed, Wendy Masley actually has not been fired for her racist outburst.
00:19:35.640 I think, and I'm trying to find out, I think that bigot is still on the payroll.
00:19:42.640 I think maybe they're just waiting to shut down all the comments before they give her a new show.
00:19:48.080 That way, no one can complain.
00:19:51.080 Stay with us for more.
00:19:53.420 Bye, daddy.
00:19:56.760 Bye, daddy.
00:20:10.600 Bye, guys.
00:20:11.760 We're going to move, okay?
00:20:23.180 Not too close, not too close.
00:20:25.220 Okay, guys, step back, please.
00:20:29.600 Bye, Dad.
00:20:30.640 I love you very much, okay?
00:20:34.960 Bryce will build his church.
00:20:36.140 That was the Calgary police arresting yet again,
00:20:43.620 jailing yet again, putting behind bars yet again,
00:20:46.960 a Christian pastor, this one named Tim Stevens.
00:20:49.620 I couldn't help but notice the three words on the car,
00:20:52.880 vigilance, courage, pride.
00:20:56.080 I think they should be prosecuted for false advertising.
00:20:59.600 They're not vigilant against crime.
00:21:01.940 Courage, they're a bunch of cowards.
00:21:03.840 And pride, I think if they are proud
00:21:06.000 of what they did there,
00:21:07.180 arresting a dad in front of his crying kids,
00:21:10.580 then they are disgraceful.
00:21:13.880 I've always said Toronto's police
00:21:16.480 are the most violent in Canada.
00:21:17.940 Montreal's are the most corrupt.
00:21:19.720 The dumbest cops in Canada are from Aylmer, Ontario.
00:21:22.400 But pound for pound,
00:21:25.140 the meanest police in Canada work for Calgary.
00:21:30.760 You'll remember they threatened to taser
00:21:33.960 young Ocean Weisblatt for the crime of skating on a public rink
00:21:38.880 that happened to be open that day.
00:21:41.020 These mean, malicious, bad faith.
00:21:47.520 I don't know.
00:21:48.180 I feel like I need theological terminology
00:21:51.220 to properly describe them.
00:21:52.820 They're demonic.
00:21:54.000 Who would put a dad behind bars in a police car?
00:21:58.400 Was he violent?
00:22:00.920 Was he going to, was this dad,
00:22:03.040 this pastor going to go on a shooting spree?
00:22:07.660 The Calgary police force are as much a disgrace
00:22:10.840 as their mayor and police chief.
00:22:12.660 And I know that's just like a race to the bottom.
00:22:15.220 Just horrific.
00:22:15.840 I can't watch videos like that easily.
00:22:18.760 There's another one we have of an Australian mum
00:22:21.720 being arrested on the sidewalk by pandemic police
00:22:25.260 and separated by her screaming child.
00:22:29.640 And this, while the NHL gets a free pass,
00:22:34.060 while Justin Trudeau jets off to the G7
00:22:36.580 and NATO and other meetings hobnobbing,
00:22:39.960 he puts on a mask for a photo,
00:22:41.520 then takes it off immediately.
00:22:42.760 You know, Jason Kenney and Tyler Shandro,
00:22:46.660 the health minister in Alberta,
00:22:47.920 having a late night party at the Sky Palace
00:22:50.480 with lots of booze.
00:22:51.980 That's fine.
00:22:54.060 But my God, we've got to arrest this Christian pastor
00:22:57.220 in front of his children just to rub it in
00:22:59.240 because that's what you do
00:23:00.300 when you're inspired by vigilance, courage, and pride.
00:23:05.600 They are a disgrace.
00:23:07.280 Well, joining me now is the man who was on the scene
00:23:10.440 reporting that terrible moment.
00:23:12.760 Our new Calgary reporter, Adam Sose.
00:23:16.220 He joins us via Skype.
00:23:17.760 Adam, good to see you.
00:23:18.780 You've had a rapport with Pastor Stevens
00:23:22.300 as well as other pastors.
00:23:24.060 I don't understand the war on pastors.
00:23:26.840 I mean, there are a lot of different groups in society
00:23:30.860 that like to be social, that like to meet.
00:23:33.000 It's a human characteristic.
00:23:34.900 We all like the company of each other.
00:23:38.820 Sports teams in the NHL and other professional leagues
00:23:41.980 are given special dispensation in Alberta.
00:23:45.140 I know they're clearing the way for the Calgary Stampede,
00:23:47.580 a very large event.
00:23:49.280 We saw that the premier and the health minister themselves
00:23:51.980 enjoyed a good party over a bottle of Jameson's whiskey
00:23:56.540 at the Sky Palace.
00:23:58.060 Why are they going so hard against Christian pastors
00:24:02.920 and only Christian pastors?
00:24:04.520 They did arrest a restaurateur up in Mira, Alberta,
00:24:07.840 but the rage against Christian pastors
00:24:11.080 compared to the neutrality or passivity elsewhere
00:24:14.580 is remarkable.
00:24:15.560 I mean, I've come to the point now
00:24:19.340 where the only possible solution
00:24:21.380 or answer to that question is discrimination and bigotry.
00:24:25.200 Other groups are violating the terms
00:24:27.620 and these key conditions in much more egregious ways,
00:24:31.000 but authorities are looking the other way.
00:24:33.360 Other religious groups,
00:24:34.520 there's complaints being filed against them,
00:24:36.420 but police won't even investigate.
00:24:38.120 We went out and checked out
00:24:39.540 some of these other gatherings.
00:24:41.140 Police say that there's no violations taking place.
00:24:43.640 AHS says the same thing.
00:24:44.800 It's simply not true.
00:24:46.840 This is targeted discrimination.
00:24:48.740 We know that because Tyler Chandro
00:24:50.620 specifically called these people out
00:24:52.780 to be made an example of.
00:24:54.500 Yeah, and that's what troubles me.
00:24:56.440 I mean, Maxime Bernier was arrested the other day
00:24:58.880 in Manitoba after he was specifically named
00:25:02.840 by the premier and a mayor
00:25:04.760 who basically threatened him.
00:25:06.660 I mean, the premier said,
00:25:07.620 you'll be lighter in the wallet if you come to down.
00:25:09.400 That's, what does that mean?
00:25:10.900 That doesn't mean you'll be paying taxes.
00:25:12.260 That doesn't mean you'll go on a shopping spree.
00:25:13.900 That means you will be fined.
00:25:15.840 He told the police what to do and they did it.
00:25:19.060 You have the same thing here.
00:25:20.380 Let me play you a clip from Calgary's debased
00:25:23.220 and disgraced mayor, Nahid Nenshi,
00:25:25.960 who says you have to be a far-right kook
00:25:29.280 and a white supremacist to object to the lockdowns.
00:25:34.120 Take a look at this.
00:25:34.960 Those people at those anti-mask protests,
00:25:38.180 let's not kid ourselves.
00:25:39.220 They're not people who need to eat.
00:25:41.480 They are people who are marching in thinly veiled,
00:25:45.000 white nationalist supremacist anti-government protests,
00:25:48.140 and they don't deserve that kind of sympathy.
00:25:50.600 And he said that same thing several times.
00:25:53.240 I think it's pretty clear that these are politically directed police,
00:25:58.340 and that's what we call a police state.
00:26:00.440 That's how it works in Venezuela, in Russia.
00:26:03.680 It's happening in Calgary,
00:26:05.100 which used to be the most conservative city in Canada.
00:26:07.820 Why doesn't anyone care?
00:26:09.040 I mean, you care, and I care, and Sheila Gunn-Reed cares,
00:26:11.740 and our team cares,
00:26:12.540 and the Justice Center for Constitutional Freedoms cares.
00:26:15.900 But I think I've just listed everyone who cares.
00:26:18.100 And I think I agree with you.
00:26:20.940 And I think that often,
00:26:23.280 and it's similar that the people who are coming out
00:26:25.260 and sharing their experiences talking about this persecution
00:26:28.280 very often come from countries where these freedoms don't exist
00:26:32.280 or that these freedoms were hard fought for.
00:26:34.280 We're very privileged in Canada, Alberta, and Calgary.
00:26:37.340 We think that these freedoms are a baseline,
00:26:39.540 but that's simply not the case.
00:26:40.960 They're the rare exception.
00:26:42.220 These freedoms are something that must be guarded vigilantly.
00:26:45.320 It's so perfect that you brought up that specific clip.
00:26:48.040 I was actually going to suggest it would be the perfect clip to play.
00:26:50.660 Later on in that very clip of Nahid Nenshi,
00:26:53.200 he says, well, I'm not really one to circumvent the judicial process,
00:26:57.320 but certain times they're sort of accepted to it.
00:27:00.300 He's basically himself in that video admitting openly
00:27:04.360 that he is willing to circumvent the just course of law.
00:27:08.300 We've heard that from lawyers.
00:27:09.800 When you witness the conduct of these judges in court
00:27:13.800 and some of their rulings,
00:27:14.920 they're not upholding the law.
00:27:17.080 They're not adhering to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
00:27:19.520 They're going off on their own,
00:27:20.620 and it's ideological warfare.
00:27:22.620 Yeah.
00:27:23.020 You know, I've been thinking about the mass failure
00:27:26.000 of the entire establishment.
00:27:27.680 It's not just a failure of the media.
00:27:30.140 It's not just a failure of police
00:27:31.840 and police commissions and police oversight boards.
00:27:35.700 It's not just a failure of civil liberties NGOs.
00:27:39.040 It's not just a failure of law professors.
00:27:42.180 It's not just a failure of judges.
00:27:44.160 It's not just a failure of business lobby groups.
00:27:46.920 It's not just a failure of Christian associations.
00:27:50.140 Like most Christian churches are silent or condemning the ones that are open.
00:27:54.580 It's not just a failure of the governments.
00:27:56.520 It's not just a failure of the opposition parties.
00:27:59.840 I guess what I've just done there is showing you
00:28:01.800 there's 10 different institutions
00:28:04.240 that in the past would have been like a network,
00:28:08.380 and if any one part of that net were broken,
00:28:11.060 well, the other nine parts would be,
00:28:12.760 like if you're going to catch a tiger,
00:28:14.980 you have a net,
00:28:16.260 and every single knot has to be there.
00:28:18.320 But if one knot breaks,
00:28:19.440 you've still got the tiger
00:28:20.520 because the other nine knots hold.
00:28:22.300 But what happens when nine out of ten knots in the net break?
00:28:27.860 You can't catch the tiger.
00:28:29.120 The government,
00:28:30.280 the power of the government is so massive
00:28:32.840 that you need all those little knots in the net
00:28:36.140 to catch the tiger.
00:28:38.000 And I tell you that nine out of ten of those knots have failed.
00:28:41.340 And I put the judges in that category too.
00:28:43.460 I haven't seen a judge anywhere in Canada
00:28:45.480 who has in any meaningful way
00:28:47.640 struck down these extreme laws.
00:28:50.340 And they're not even laws in many cases.
00:28:52.880 They're just edicts or orders,
00:28:54.860 very few of which have even been debated in Parliament,
00:28:57.720 most of which are just regulations.
00:28:59.660 It's a total system failure.
00:29:02.220 And we're really right up against authoritarian regimes.
00:29:08.460 What's the difference?
00:29:09.120 Like, what is the difference?
00:29:10.780 Why can't they go further?
00:29:12.060 They've gone this far.
00:29:14.240 And I think to your point,
00:29:15.700 there's all those levels of security
00:29:17.640 that are supposed to safeguard us.
00:29:19.200 But ultimately what it comes down to
00:29:21.200 is each and every one of us as citizens,
00:29:23.720 whether we tolerate this or not,
00:29:25.840 we need to stand up.
00:29:26.840 It's not simply enough to be upset.
00:29:28.380 It's not simply enough to go out to tweet.
00:29:30.800 I encourage people to take an active stance.
00:29:33.420 Send a letter to the police.
00:29:34.740 Get out there.
00:29:35.340 Become politically active.
00:29:37.380 Go to fightthefines.com
00:29:38.820 and make a contribution
00:29:39.960 because we're helping people fight back.
00:29:42.300 There are so few voices standing up for the freedoms
00:29:45.100 that make Canada great.
00:29:46.740 And it's about time that we as citizens get together
00:29:49.280 and rebel in the spirit of freedom and truth
00:29:52.860 and put an end to this nonsense once and for all.
00:29:55.380 You know, let me quote to you from Professor Bruce Pardy.
00:29:58.340 I saw this on Twitter.
00:29:59.380 He says, he's quoting Alan Borvoi,
00:30:02.460 who was the former general counsel
00:30:04.540 of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association.
00:30:06.680 He's passed away now,
00:30:07.780 but he was a true civil libertarian.
00:30:09.720 And I had the pleasure of meeting him
00:30:11.640 when I was a younger man.
00:30:13.640 And he said this,
00:30:15.440 I tell people that Canada
00:30:17.120 is a pleasantly authoritarian country.
00:30:21.040 And I think he's spot on with that.
00:30:23.560 We always said,
00:30:24.540 oh, we're much nicer than those Americans.
00:30:27.120 We're nicer.
00:30:28.780 They're so rough and tumble.
00:30:31.540 And there's some truth to it.
00:30:33.660 They are rough and tumble.
00:30:35.140 They are a country born in revolution,
00:30:38.360 not in negotiation.
00:30:40.160 But for all of Canada's niceness,
00:30:42.300 if we do say so ourselves,
00:30:44.480 we didn't have their undergirding of liberty
00:30:46.720 and their rebellious spirit.
00:30:48.520 And when everyone is marching uniformly
00:30:51.060 down the road to authoritarianism,
00:30:53.180 I don't want everyone to be smiling.
00:30:55.120 This is fine.
00:30:56.400 This is fine.
00:30:57.240 No, no, this is fine.
00:30:58.800 It's not fine.
00:31:00.320 And we have so few people objecting.
00:31:02.440 And if that video clip of children crying
00:31:06.260 as their dad is taken away
00:31:07.720 doesn't rouse you,
00:31:10.080 then I think there's something broken with you.
00:31:12.140 And maybe there is.
00:31:13.200 Maybe we've got 38 million broken people
00:31:16.180 for whom the pandemic
00:31:17.680 has snapped something in our heads.
00:31:19.720 But I find it unacceptable.
00:31:22.980 I certainly agree.
00:31:24.540 And I think that what we're seeing here,
00:31:26.580 there's always this perpetual pendulum swing
00:31:29.120 within the flow of history.
00:31:30.940 And with that video,
00:31:32.840 with what we've captured them doing,
00:31:35.020 society is realizing that the pendulum
00:31:36.740 has swung too far in favor
00:31:38.460 of this radical progressivism,
00:31:40.480 this anti-Christian mentality
00:31:42.220 that is so pervasive in society.
00:31:44.520 And people are going to start
00:31:45.960 pushing the pendulum back.
00:31:47.540 And I promise to those people,
00:31:49.180 those officers,
00:31:50.380 those health authorities,
00:31:51.620 Alberta Health Services,
00:31:52.800 and Jason Kenney,
00:31:53.660 any time you do something like that,
00:31:55.580 we are going to be there to catch you.
00:31:57.400 Yeah, well,
00:31:58.940 I just wish there were more of us.
00:32:01.340 I think that it's true
00:32:03.940 if there were some mass civil disobedience,
00:32:06.820 if everyone just stopped
00:32:07.700 wearing the stupid masks,
00:32:09.220 if everyone stopped with the foolishness,
00:32:11.440 it would be over.
00:32:12.680 They can't jail everybody,
00:32:13.980 as they say,
00:32:14.500 but they come down so hard
00:32:15.700 on those first who do
00:32:17.680 that I think it's to scare other people.
00:32:20.240 They throw Christian pastors in prison.
00:32:22.940 They want you,
00:32:24.020 they actually want you, Adam,
00:32:26.140 to film the crying children
00:32:27.720 as a deterrent to anyone
00:32:29.320 who else has big ideas
00:32:31.000 that they might open their restaurant
00:32:32.740 or live freely to say,
00:32:34.620 yikes, I don't want that
00:32:35.380 to happen to my kids.
00:32:36.280 I didn't know we were living
00:32:37.420 so brutally now,
00:32:38.660 but now that I see it,
00:32:40.540 because Rebel News was there to capture it,
00:32:42.120 well, now I know what's in store for me.
00:32:43.620 I think we're at that perverse place
00:32:46.260 where the government wants
00:32:47.780 to be brutal and bloody,
00:32:49.300 to scare people into compliance.
00:32:51.360 It's just my theory.
00:32:52.320 Listen, keep it up down there.
00:32:54.040 Thanks for reporting on Calgary
00:32:55.540 and all around Alberta.
00:32:58.960 As you do,
00:32:59.720 I know you've crisscrossed the province
00:33:01.220 and Sheila Gunn-Reed,
00:33:02.720 and we've got Kian Simone K2,
00:33:04.840 as we call them,
00:33:05.680 and of course Daniel Day
00:33:06.820 up there in Edmonton.
00:33:07.600 So you guys are doing
00:33:08.180 a great job out there.
00:33:09.100 Thanks for your time, Adam.
00:33:11.040 Thanks so much.
00:33:11.660 Thanks for having me.
00:33:12.340 All right, there you have it.
00:33:13.120 Adam Sose,
00:33:14.300 he's our Calgary-based reporter.
00:33:16.140 Stay with us more ahead.
00:33:22.320 Hey, welcome back.
00:33:29.640 On my show last night,
00:33:30.520 Tom writes,
00:33:31.660 I'm curious as to where
00:33:32.680 was Jon Stewart's rant
00:33:33.820 when Trump and Pompeo
00:33:35.920 suggested the virus
00:33:36.980 was a result of a lab leak.
00:33:38.800 Stunning and brave
00:33:39.460 to come out now, eh?
00:33:41.220 Well, you're right.
00:33:42.080 It's very safe for him
00:33:42.960 to come out now
00:33:43.720 in terms of not wanting
00:33:45.260 to give Trump any support.
00:33:46.700 I give him some courage
00:33:50.340 and some credit for courage, though,
00:33:52.120 because he's already
00:33:52.900 being denounced
00:33:53.860 by the left-wing media.
00:33:55.340 I don't know
00:33:55.760 if they'll cancel him.
00:33:56.780 Like I say,
00:33:57.680 Trump was removed,
00:33:58.740 the West was destroyed
00:33:59.720 economically,
00:34:00.860 authoritarianism
00:34:01.780 has taken deep root,
00:34:02.940 and there are, what,
00:34:03.860 five, sorry,
00:34:04.640 nine new pharma billionaires.
00:34:06.960 So let the clown
00:34:08.100 poke fun now.
00:34:10.020 He would have been useful
00:34:11.360 a year ago,
00:34:11.920 wouldn't he?
00:34:13.640 Agent writes,
00:34:14.640 what's causing damage
00:34:15.600 to people?
00:34:15.940 It's not just the vaccine,
00:34:17.200 but the mental break
00:34:18.300 of having life on pause
00:34:19.360 and restricted.
00:34:20.140 They've caused
00:34:20.700 so much psychological damage.
00:34:23.300 Yeah, well,
00:34:23.540 that's what I was alluding to
00:34:24.540 when I took you
00:34:25.060 through the Statistics Canada
00:34:26.680 excess or surplus excess
00:34:28.660 deaths chart.
00:34:30.160 In the first half of the year,
00:34:31.320 it was seniors
00:34:31.960 dying in long-term care homes
00:34:33.680 from the virus.
00:34:34.640 That is true.
00:34:35.460 But in the latter part
00:34:36.460 of the year,
00:34:36.860 it was young people
00:34:37.640 dying from depression
00:34:38.600 or things they do
00:34:39.560 when they're depressed.
00:34:41.100 Suicide, drugs.
00:34:42.800 That is absolutely ongoing.
00:34:44.620 And then there's
00:34:45.140 the low-level
00:34:46.440 psychological damage
00:34:47.560 of living in fear,
00:34:49.120 wearing a mask,
00:34:50.740 being terrified
00:34:51.460 of just talking
00:34:52.420 to other humans.
00:34:53.820 Imagine being a child
00:34:54.920 growing up this way.
00:34:55.860 Imagine being a teenager
00:34:56.920 living this way.
00:34:58.020 That's even worse.
00:34:58.820 That's the show for today,
00:34:59.720 my friends.
00:35:00.500 Until tomorrow,
00:35:01.240 on behalf of all of us
00:35:02.200 here to you at home,
00:35:02.980 good night.
00:35:03.740 Keep fighting for freedom.
00:35:04.640 Thank you.
00:35:06.040 We'll be right back.
