00:00:00.060 Hello, my rebels. In today's podcast, I talk about four lies that the government of Alberta has told in a row
00:00:06.000 to try and make the pandemic seem worse than I think it is.
00:00:10.320 They've been caught several times fibbing, fake mannequins in ICU wards, fake counting.
00:00:19.000 And why are they lying about it? I have my theories. That's in today's podcast.
00:00:23.780 I want to invite you to get the video form of this podcast.
00:00:26.620 You'll see those mannequins I'm talking about. It's sort of crazy.
00:00:28.900 And then there's a new wrinkle as soon as, as recently as last night, I want to tell you about.
00:00:34.160 Just go to rebelnewsplus.com, click subscribe.
00:00:38.740 And for eight bucks a month, you'll get the video version of my show,
00:00:42.320 Sheila Gunn-Reed's show, David Menzies' show, Andrew Chapito's show,
00:00:44.920 and the satisfaction of helping Rebel News stay independent.
00:00:47.360 We don't take any money from the government.
00:00:49.520 All right, here's today's show.
00:00:58.900 Tonight, four lies the Alberta government told in a month.
00:01:09.600 It's October 18th, and this is the Ezra Levant Show.
00:01:12.500 Why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon consumer I know?
00:01:18.540 There's 8,500 customers here, and you won't give them an answer.
00:01:22.620 The only thing I have to say to the government about why I publish it is because it's my bloody right to do so.
00:01:28.480 It's election night in Alberta for city councils, for a Senate election, and for an equalization referendum,
00:01:41.200 the last two of which are not binding.
00:01:43.700 They're more plebiscites, as the technical term is, an impressive opinion poll,
00:01:48.520 both of which will surely be ignored by Ottawa.
00:01:52.060 The bigger questions in the province are being handled by the provincial government, not even by Ottawa.
00:01:57.200 And I continue to marvel that Jason Kenney, an old friend of mine, by the way,
00:02:02.120 Kenney, who was called the most conservative voice in Cabinet under Stephen Harper,
00:02:06.040 that he is now leading one of the most repressive provincial governments in Canada in regards to the lockdown.
00:02:12.180 I really can't believe that.
00:02:14.160 For the first six months of the lockdown, he had the lightest touch in the country,
00:02:19.240 but now he has flip-flopped the other way.
00:02:22.000 It's him who's jailing pastors, although that has now spread to New Brunswick.
00:02:26.380 Like, Kenney held out for so long as the Ron DeSantis of Canada,
00:02:30.760 and then, like a slingshot, he snapped back from the best to the worst, harder than anyone.
00:02:36.220 It is actually shocking.
00:02:38.100 And I think he knows that, and I think he knows that must be confusing for Albertans who are generally freedom-loving people
00:02:44.120 and thought that's who they were voting for.
00:02:46.580 Albertans who are smart enough to know that by now, the virus primarily targets people who are very old, average age 80,
00:02:55.180 people who are typically very fat, very sick.
00:02:57.840 If you're a very overweight 85-year-old who has had a heart attack and kidney failure and a stroke,
00:03:03.300 you're at risk for sure.
00:03:04.860 But seriously, that's a serious, that's a typical victim, I mean.
00:03:09.300 Three underlying serious conditions.
00:03:13.300 People know that.
00:03:14.640 The Alberta government publishes that.
00:03:16.640 And we know that that means that kids really aren't at that much risk.
00:03:20.940 Maybe we didn't know that back in March of 2020,
00:03:23.020 which is why this flip-flop by Kenny to go from the freest to the harshest makes no sense.
00:03:29.660 It's the hardest to take because we know more now.
00:03:32.620 And the biggest flip-flop of all is on the vaccine passports.
00:03:36.620 Here's Kenny a few months ago saying, no, no, never.
00:03:40.060 What's your position on vaccine passports for those individuals unwilling to be vaccinated?
00:03:44.040 Opposed.
00:03:44.500 And we've been very clear from the beginning that we will not facilitate or accept vaccine passports
00:03:49.040 and that, in fact, we regard, I believe that they would, in principle,
00:03:52.800 contravene the Health Information Act and also possibly the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
00:04:00.340 We also amended the Public Health Act to remove the 110-year-old power,
00:04:05.180 allowing Alberta to force people to be inoculated.
00:04:08.400 So these folks who are concerned about mandatory vaccines have nothing to be concerned about
00:04:12.400 and there will be no vaccine passports in Alberta.
00:04:14.380 And will the provincial government act on behalf of Alberta citizens
00:04:16.960 if the federal government seeks to impose such restrictions?
00:04:19.960 Yes.
00:04:20.760 Yeah, we heard all that.
00:04:22.200 We heard him say that.
00:04:23.220 So how does he justify it now?
00:04:25.500 Well, he can't really.
00:04:27.220 The stats just don't show that there's a crisis.
00:04:30.360 I'm sorry they don't.
00:04:32.260 So they need hype.
00:04:34.020 They need drama.
00:04:34.840 So they have a big show of Justin Trudeau having to send nurses to help out Alberta.
00:04:39.760 I think they sent seven nurses.
00:04:42.340 There are nearly 36,000 nurses in Alberta.
00:04:44.540 So all those seven nurses will do really is allow Justin Trudeau to be even more smug
00:04:49.880 about how he's doing Alberta a favor.
00:04:52.400 And it will let Jason Kenney pretend that there's a crisis going on that's so bad
00:04:55.700 we need seven federal nurses or something.
00:04:59.320 So much of a crisis that Kenney was literally closing ICU hospital beds all summer.
00:05:06.260 There are about as many ICU hospital beds, intensive care beds in the province today
00:05:11.200 as there were two years ago.
00:05:13.440 It doesn't sound like a big crisis, at least not from their point of view.
00:05:16.620 Anyways, that's why the drama is needed, to keep people panicked, to justify the civil
00:05:21.740 liberties violations.
00:05:23.700 And that my video today, that's my video today, four lies told by Alberta's health deep state
00:05:32.020 to keep the panic going.
00:05:33.140 And I've just told you my explanation for why.
00:05:36.880 It's so that Alberta can excuse and justify their shocking and unjustifiable decision to
00:05:41.100 lock down hard, bring in forced vaccinations, break every promise they ever made.
00:05:46.260 They need the drama.
00:05:47.680 So here's the first lie.
00:05:50.140 I was startled by this.
00:05:51.880 Alberta's health bureaucrat, Dina Hinshaw, announced that she would start counting people
00:05:57.560 who stayed home sick from school, count them as COVID cases, even if she had no information
00:06:03.440 about them.
00:06:04.280 So if you stayed home because you had a cold or because you twisted your ankle or you
00:06:08.820 had any reason at all, let's say you're playing hooky, but you didn't give an official reason,
00:06:13.420 she would count you as a COVID case.
00:06:15.360 I'm serious.
00:06:16.580 I know that sounds crazy and unprofessional and unscientific, maybe even unethical, but
00:06:22.260 she said it.
00:06:23.300 Listen with your own ears.
00:06:24.460 If individuals choose to not get tested for COVID, but are home with an illness, they're
00:06:31.400 now counted in the list as being part of that outbreak.
00:06:35.660 And so it's less dependent on needing a test to be a part of identifying where there is an
00:06:42.020 issue.
00:06:42.820 Yeah, Dina, you weren't supposed to say that part out loud.
00:06:46.120 And when people like me reported that crazy news, the Alberta government called us fake
00:06:51.980 news.
00:06:52.340 Yeah, no, sorry, sister, you said it.
00:06:55.200 We all heard it.
00:06:56.140 So that was weird, but it showed that they had a policy of deception and they had a policy
00:07:02.400 of cover up.
00:07:04.440 Sorry, is there a better word than deception and cover up?
00:07:06.700 Well, look at this.
00:07:08.560 There's a story that Trudeau's CBC state broadcaster did with Kenny's state health department.
00:07:13.740 So two branches of government working together against the people.
00:07:16.480 Well, it looks like a crowded ICU room, doesn't it?
00:07:19.200 Well, a keen eyed viewer spotted it.
00:07:21.500 That's actually a mannequin.
00:07:23.420 That's literally a dummy, like what you find, you know, a plastic dummy for putting clothes
00:07:28.840 on in the clothing store.
00:07:29.800 It's fake.
00:07:31.140 It was a hoax.
00:07:32.100 The CBC actually half apologized for it, but I haven't seen any apology from the Alberta
00:07:36.880 government that set it up.
00:07:37.900 Again, they both have an agenda, keep you afraid, keep you under control.
00:07:43.740 And in Kenny's case, justifies flip flop.
00:07:45.720 I think by far the worst was this one, though.
00:07:49.880 That same Dina Hinshaw, the one who announced that she's going to mark anyone sick at home
00:07:54.240 as having COVID, no matter what.
00:07:56.000 She said that a 14-year-old child had died from COVID.
00:08:00.260 Shocking.
00:08:01.040 It would be very rare if it were true.
00:08:03.540 Kids are at an extremely low risk from all of this.
00:08:06.220 But she said it, a 14-year-old had died from COVID.
00:08:10.460 Except, as you can see, that 14-year-old's family was shocked and outraged by the lie that
00:08:14.940 their child was being turned into a partisan political weapon.
00:08:18.160 He died of brain cancer.
00:08:20.900 Three days, three lies, all in the same direction.
00:08:24.200 All the lies with the same purpose.
00:08:25.880 That's not a coincidence.
00:08:28.200 The government's in full damage control mode.
00:08:30.940 So they've launched a special propaganda campaign to try to shore up their reputation.
00:08:35.300 I think it's too late for that.
00:08:36.560 But they've started having experts make little videos.
00:08:39.460 I think the whole expert class has lost huge amounts of credibility during the pandemic.
00:08:43.660 But here, watch this video by a doctor who says that rumors about vaccines hurting your
00:08:49.920 fertility are fake news.
00:08:52.380 This is from a government tweet.
00:08:53.900 Take a look at the video.
00:08:55.300 So when you weigh the potential risks of actually getting COVID-19 infection against the non-existing,
00:09:05.380 not supported by any evidence, sort of misinformation saying that the vaccine could cause male infertility,
00:09:12.380 there really is no reason to pause and wonder about this.
00:09:19.220 Just go ahead and get the vaccine.
00:09:21.980 It's as simple as that.
00:09:23.940 Now, someone might say, how do you know, doctor?
00:09:27.720 It's one thing to say there is no evidence that the vaccine positively causes fertility problems.
00:09:33.980 But it's another thing to say that there is evidence positively that it does not cause problems.
00:09:41.020 The reason is these vaccines have only been out for about a year.
00:09:44.840 The FDA, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, has ordered vaccine makers like Pfizer to continue
00:09:50.320 testing their vaccines into the year 2027.
00:09:53.540 Six more years of clinical trials because we don't know all the things these drugs do.
00:10:00.060 Six more years.
00:10:01.340 That's normally how drugs are done.
00:10:02.880 They're not rushed like this.
00:10:03.720 So it may be true that there is not yet any evidence that these vaccines hurt fertility.
00:10:09.020 And maybe no evidence will ever come out.
00:10:10.660 But it is equally true that the evidence is not yet in full.
00:10:14.780 And I would think that the onus is on the government that's trying to force you to get vaxxed
00:10:19.380 to prove something is harmless.
00:10:21.700 You don't have to prove that it is harmful.
00:10:24.520 How would you know?
00:10:25.320 It's only been out a few months.
00:10:27.600 But let's take it for what it is.
00:10:29.200 This doctor says there is not yet, and may never be, any proof that vaccines harm your fertility.
00:10:35.120 All right, you heard him.
00:10:35.920 You heard him.
00:10:37.120 That's what he said.
00:10:37.880 He used that word fertility, a nine-letter word, four syllables, fertility.
00:10:41.320 You can say it in about one and a half seconds.
00:10:43.240 So that's what the doctor said.
00:10:45.940 You saw the video.
00:10:47.740 But look at what the Alberta Health Department actually tweeted.
00:10:50.720 Look at the words they used.
00:10:51.820 They said, when you weigh the potential risks of getting COVID-19 against the non-existing,
00:10:57.740 not supported by any evidence, misinformation, open bracket, about the vaccine, close bracket,
00:11:04.820 there really is no reason to pause and wonder about this, says Dr. Jack Payne.
00:11:08.560 Go ahead and get the vaccine.
00:11:09.940 It's as simple as that.
00:11:11.320 Did you see the difference?
00:11:12.120 Did you catch it?
00:11:12.740 Dr. Payne said, you heard it with your own ears, the whole non-existing, not supported
00:11:18.820 by any evidence, misinformation thing was about fertility.
00:11:22.220 That's what he said.
00:11:22.980 You heard him.
00:11:24.360 Not about the vaccine in general.
00:11:25.780 We know the vaccine does have side effects.
00:11:29.020 We know it can cause myocarditis, especially in young men, at a disturbing rank, frankly,
00:11:34.400 enough that it's been banned from young men in several countries.
00:11:37.320 According to some studies, it's six times more likely that the vaccine would put a young man
00:11:43.400 in the hospital in the hospital than the virus itself.
00:11:45.960 So we know you can't say that there's no evidence that vaccines can harm you.
00:11:51.420 They can't.
00:11:52.580 No one would be foolish enough to say that about any vaccine, certainly not Jack Payne.
00:11:56.600 He just said that there's no evidence that it causes infertility.
00:12:01.180 You heard him, but the government edited his words to replace them.
00:12:05.980 That's what those square brackets are.
00:12:08.080 They literally put in their own words to replace his words because he didn't lie like they wanted
00:12:15.260 him to lie.
00:12:16.540 They replaced the word fertility, which you heard, with their own words about the vaccine.
00:12:22.860 It's not shorter.
00:12:24.500 It's not plainer.
00:12:26.040 It didn't clarify or simplify as edits should do.
00:12:29.380 It literally changed the entire meaning of the doctor's own statement.
00:12:34.160 Fake news, misinformation, it's another lie.
00:12:38.960 By my count, that's four lies in a row.
00:12:42.060 They're lying because the truth is atrocious.
00:12:45.520 But more to the point, they're lying because it works.
00:12:49.940 I mean, come on, how many journalists in the mainstream media would even report the truth
00:12:55.240 and expose these lies?
00:12:57.500 I mean, do you think the CBC reporters who filmed the mannequins are going to tell the truth
00:13:03.300 about this one?
00:13:04.960 Stay with us for more.
00:13:14.020 Well, you might recall when Sheila Gunn-Reed and I and many of our talent around the country
00:13:23.900 hosted an election night live stream.
00:13:27.220 It's become a bit of a regular event here at Rebel News.
00:13:31.080 Now, tonight are the Alberta municipal elections, including an election that the Alberta government
00:13:37.800 is holding for the federal Senate seats in that province.
00:13:41.440 That's going to be very interesting.
00:13:42.800 However futile it may be, we all know that Justin Trudeau would never respect those results.
00:13:48.740 There's also a referendum on equalization.
00:13:50.740 So interesting things happening tonight in Alberta.
00:13:53.380 I don't know if it rises to the level of a live stream because most of the races are very local.
00:14:00.640 But when we did our election night live stream a couple months ago, a lot of people tuned in.
00:14:06.300 In fact, we were not far off of CBC's own viewership.
00:14:13.500 So many people tuned in to watch us.
00:14:15.160 Well, the thing is, most of the political parties did not have a standard victory party.
00:14:23.240 Of course, the party leaders normally have that in their own home riding.
00:14:27.160 It's when their friends and their family and their campaign volunteers greet and get together to celebrate or to mourn.
00:14:33.500 But because of COVID rules, most of the parties didn't do that, except Maxime Bernier and the People's Party.
00:14:41.240 Now, he didn't meet in his home riding of Beaux-Quebec.
00:14:44.660 Rather, and I thought it was interesting, he chose Saskatoon, Saskatchewan,
00:14:49.300 which actually makes sense because the PPC did so well in the prairies.
00:14:54.220 Here's a glimpse of that night in Saskatoon.
00:14:57.920 It was sort of fun to see it. Take a look.
00:15:03.500 While the PPC was enjoying their election night, and while viewers around the country were tuning in,
00:15:17.460 the police were getting complaints, so they say, from members of the public,
00:15:22.300 that people at that Maxime Bernier PPC event were not wearing masks.
00:15:27.400 And my God, I can't think of a more capital offense than that.
00:15:31.460 And so, more than a month later, look at this tweet from the Saskatoon Police Department.
00:15:39.480 They had been scouring the Internet for pictures, trying to find out who was there that wasn't wearing a mask.
00:15:49.060 And they actually put out a call to the public to help identify these mask criminals.
00:15:55.600 Normally, criminals are masked, but for the Saskatoon Police, they were unmasked.
00:16:02.160 They called for help.
00:16:03.620 They put up a list of 15 people.
00:16:06.240 Now, they've since found some of them and taken them down, but I think they might be putting up others.
00:16:11.640 They boasted that they've spent more than 100 hours on this case.
00:16:16.080 And curiously, they say that these people have violated the law.
00:16:23.640 Now, normally, police don't make that determination.
00:16:25.900 Normally, that's for the judges to do.
00:16:28.500 The police make an accusation in court, and then it's argued about in a trial,
00:16:33.300 and then only then does the judge determine whether or not the law is being violated, and these are criminals.
00:16:38.580 For some reason, the Saskatoon Police wanted to put it in a different order.
00:16:42.920 They announced in advance that these people were guilty before they even found out if they had a mask exemption,
00:16:51.660 if they were perhaps eating or drinking, if they were compliant in some way.
00:16:56.820 Joining us now to talk about this is the newest rebel reporter, our friend Kelly Lamb, who joins us now via Skype.
00:17:04.760 Kelly, I love the videos you're doing for us from Saskatchewan.
00:17:08.120 There's a lot of news there, including this news.
00:17:10.920 I'm not proud of this news.
00:17:12.320 I think it's an embarrassment to Saskatoon Police.
00:17:16.760 Every day, Ezra, I'm watching things go down in this province that I did not see coming.
00:17:22.060 I always thought this was one of the safer and more sane places to be during this whole pandemic and the response to it.
00:17:28.560 But it doesn't appear to be that we are safe from anything anymore.
00:17:31.520 This is only one of many examples of things that I'm really quite just amazed by.
00:17:35.740 I'm definitely not proud of it as a Saskatchewan resident.
00:17:39.700 This is this is sort of an example, I think, of there's a lot of hypocrisy.
00:17:44.260 Put it that way.
00:17:44.800 We've seen examples across the country and across the world of hypocrisy with all kinds of politicians and bureaucrats.
00:17:50.680 Those making the most fear based policies are showing that they're not too afraid or they don't worry too much about the repercussions because there really aren't any.
00:17:59.440 Nobody's losing an income.
00:18:00.880 Nobody's getting in any trouble.
00:18:02.620 Things just move on.
00:18:03.520 They get a slap on the wrist.
00:18:05.040 Some people yell at them on Twitter and they move along.
00:18:07.060 Meanwhile, certain political parties, certain people, it almost seems are just being watched so carefully as though maybe they're making an example of them.
00:18:15.980 But I maybe I'm surmising this here.
00:18:18.580 But it's what it seems like.
00:18:20.100 This feels very punitive.
00:18:21.200 And I want to give you an example.
00:18:22.340 Here is a video that the Conservative Party of Canada uploaded to the Internet on their own.
00:18:28.360 They were proud of it.
00:18:29.560 This is a rally in Saskatoon during the election.
00:18:34.020 No masks, not a mask in sight.
00:18:35.880 And by the way, I think that's great.
00:18:37.300 I think that's fine.
00:18:38.560 We don't see the Saskatoon police calling for help us identify these people only for the PPC.
00:18:45.840 Here, take a look at this video.
00:18:47.760 And it's time for a government in Ottawa that respects Western Canada.
00:18:53.000 Let's get to work.
00:18:54.860 Thank you for Saskatoon.
00:18:58.100 So I think part of the respect for the law that ordinary people have is the assumption or the knowledge
00:19:05.560 or the history that laws are applied equally, whether you're popular or unpopular, rich or poor, powerful or weak.
00:19:12.280 We're all the same before the law.
00:19:14.400 That's why the statue of Lady Justice is is blindfolded.
00:19:18.820 So she's not judging you on irrelevant criteria.
00:19:22.620 But here we have a controlled experiment.
00:19:26.060 Two parties, same election, everything the same other than one's PPC and one's CPC.
00:19:32.520 And the Saskatoon police are going nuts against Maxime Bernier's party.
00:19:37.040 But ignore O'Toole's.
00:19:38.340 I don't know how anyone could think that's not partisan policing.
00:19:43.700 That's just it.
00:19:44.760 And I'm in full disclosure, I'm not involved with the PPC anymore, although I did run in 2019 for that election.
00:19:50.900 So I have a firsthand understanding of what happened to the PPC when it comes to mainstream media.
00:19:56.740 The amount of hit pieces of even just little old me here in Saskatchewan.
00:20:00.300 It was just amazing.
00:20:01.280 And sort of the accusations, they would take one picture that Max had taken with someone out of thousands in a week,
00:20:07.060 and they would assume that was the whole party's sort of impetus was racism or whatever it is.
00:20:12.520 They didn't talk about the platforms.
00:20:14.180 They certainly didn't talk about our extremely diverse panel of candidates and members and volunteers.
00:20:19.460 So I know I've seen that with both the police as well as with media and sort of just the general social view of it.
00:20:26.360 It seems like the PPC has been demonized by a lot of people.
00:20:30.140 We'll put it that way.
00:20:31.280 And I definitely see, you know, the CPC isn't loved by the media either,
00:20:35.400 but there's no comparison that they've kind of labeled the PPC as, quote, far right, et cetera.
00:20:41.100 And therefore, they've decided that they're going to make the public feel a certain way about them.
00:20:46.320 And so when it comes to the police diving in, though, I mean, you would hope justice would be blind.
00:20:50.740 Theoretically, it should be.
00:20:51.920 But here we are seeing examples of what seems to be just the demonizing of one sort of group of people or one party.
00:20:59.040 And, of course, we have them demonizing certain businesses.
00:21:02.160 And that's a whole other story.
00:21:03.140 Anybody with a certain narrative.
00:21:05.640 And, of course, Maxim has been extremely against all of these mandates and a lot of the issues that we see when it comes to government overreach.
00:21:13.180 And I'm not remotely surprised that they're trying to make an example of someone like him because they certainly wouldn't want everybody to be that emboldened.
00:21:21.860 So this seems to me to be a double standard.
00:21:24.800 I'd love to hear arguments against it, but I can't see how this isn't a double standard.
00:21:28.620 Yeah, I mean, it's bad enough when the media is biased and when they have a double standard.
00:21:33.320 But at the end of the day, they're just people with an opinion.
00:21:36.140 And you don't have to accept their opinion.
00:21:38.240 You don't have to follow it.
00:21:38.920 You don't have to listen to them.
00:21:40.000 I think one of the reasons why fewer and fewer people trust the media is because of their bias.
00:21:45.600 I mean, who cares at the end of the day what the CBC says?
00:21:48.780 But it's different with police because police wield the power of the state that they take an oath to do so neutrally and without bias.
00:21:57.160 And if this were a one-off, that would be one thing.
00:22:00.420 But this comes on the heels of Maxime Bernier being arrested in Manitoba, put in the back of a police vehicle, taken to jail, held, and told that the premier of the province says he's going to be fined.
00:22:14.760 I mean, we don't normally have policing that's done at the behest of a politician.
00:22:19.920 And I've got to tell you, Kelly, arrested in Manitoba, his supporters hunted in Saskatoon by police.
00:22:28.140 If this were happening in Russia, people would be saying Putin is targeting his political opponents again.
00:22:36.080 Let's raise it at the U.N.
00:22:37.500 But it's happening in Canada and we're somehow, that's fine.
00:22:40.860 I mean, it really is police state stuff.
00:22:43.160 That's what I think is the most difficult to wrap my head around, Ezra, is people are okay with this.
00:22:51.260 A lot of people are okay with this or they're just not thinking about it.
00:22:54.340 Perhaps they've just been so comfortable here in our seemingly peaceful, wonderful, nice, polite country and they don't think it can happen here.
00:23:01.560 I've been really questioning lately why it is that Canadians don't believe that we could have any kind of authoritarian rule here.
00:23:07.980 Is it an arrogance? Do we think we're better than other countries across the span of history across the world?
00:23:14.400 Do we somehow believe human nature doesn't apply here?
00:23:17.380 Do we believe there's no such thing as power trips or ego in Canada?
00:23:20.840 Is it an arrogance of that proportion?
00:23:22.860 I don't really understand because if you saw this, like you said, anywhere else, we would be questioning it.
00:23:27.760 And I've heard stories of people traveling to places that have extremely corrupt justice systems.
00:23:33.000 You're paying off the cops, that kind of thing.
00:23:34.740 I feel like we're not really all that much better at this point.
00:23:38.220 And with the emergency acts and everything put into place, we're seeing all kinds of examples, again, across the country of police officers, in my opinion, really pushing way too far, going way too hard.
00:23:49.000 There's bullies that are just enjoying this way too much.
00:23:52.080 And I can really see that reflected in this situation.
00:23:55.020 It's like a bully mentality.
00:23:56.660 We're mad at someone, we're going to get them.
00:23:58.520 And we're not going to necessarily be fair about it.
00:24:01.160 And whether people like it or not is irrelevant.
00:24:04.060 But unfortunately, there's not enough of a pushback.
00:24:05.980 There's only some people that are saying, this is wrong.
00:24:09.040 Others are saying, no big deal.
00:24:10.500 I don't agree with him either.
00:24:11.640 Therefore, no problem, which is really scary.
00:24:15.140 No one's going to be safe if this is the way that this keeps going.
00:24:18.340 It doesn't matter how much you comply or how much you think you agree with the beautiful, benevolent government.
00:24:23.060 It's going to eventually be bad for everybody.
00:24:25.660 It's not a positive thing.
00:24:26.780 It's not a partisan thing.
00:24:27.940 It doesn't matter if you despise the PPC, if you don't like Maxime, if you disagree, that's not the point.
00:24:33.000 And I don't think people are being aware enough to the potential of where this could lead.
00:24:38.820 Yeah, I'm worried because I think in the last 18 months, a lot of the civil liberties respecting police have either left the force, being reassigned.
00:24:48.260 And those that are left, well, I think a lot of them are about to be sacked with the vaccine mandate.
00:24:53.860 So I think you're getting a more and more distilled police force, people who are comfortable with this elbows up style of policing, people who are comfortable being political cops.
00:25:06.740 Nothing we've talked about the last 18 months has been a crime.
00:25:10.200 It's all a political crime.
00:25:11.540 And now an actual political meeting.
00:25:13.820 I'm really worried, Kelly, but I'm extra grateful that you're on the ground there in Saskatchewan to help cover these stories.
00:25:19.500 I look forward to talking to you in the months ahead.
00:25:22.100 And thanks for your great work so far.
00:25:24.860 My pleasure.
00:25:25.620 My pleasure.
00:25:26.160 There's no shortage of news here.
00:25:28.120 So I've got lots of stuff that'll be coming out.
00:25:30.140 Stay tuned.
00:25:31.000 Well, thank you very much for it.
00:25:32.240 There you have it.
00:25:32.780 Kelly Lamb, our newest rebel, joining us via Skype from Saskatchewan.
00:25:37.020 Stay with us.
00:25:37.560 More ahead.
00:25:41.540 Hey, welcome back.
00:25:51.880 I'm sorry I had a cold on Thursday and Friday.
00:25:54.720 I couldn't come in.
00:25:55.680 I took a COVID test and I was negative on the COVID test.
00:26:00.300 And I made a joke that it was a pregnancy test because I thought maybe I was pregnant or something.
00:26:03.740 But no, I'm fine.
00:26:04.660 I just had the sniffles.
00:26:05.500 I'm pretty much over it now, but I'm back at work.
00:26:08.440 Special thanks to my friends who pitched in for me when I was away.
00:26:11.540 Tomorrow, we will have Sheila Gunn-Reed on to talk about the Alberta elections.
00:26:16.960 It's frustrating.
00:26:17.960 I mean, I remember when I was a kid, Alberta was having Senate elections.
00:26:21.280 And, you know, it's true that Stephen Harper did appoint some of those winners, but Trudeau won't.
00:26:27.660 It feels like the same battles are being held generation after generation.
00:26:30.880 And Alberta still gets treated as a source of cash.
00:26:35.740 You know, the goose that lays a golden egg for the rest of the country, but treated with no disrespect.
00:26:39.500 With no respect.
00:26:40.120 It makes me upset to see him.
00:26:42.380 I think Justin Trudeau hates the West even more than his father did.
00:26:45.700 That's the show for today.
00:26:48.260 But as you know, we like to end with what we call the video of the day.
00:26:51.720 And this one is one of the best videos I've seen in a long time.
00:26:56.040 It was started with an almost impossible coincidence.
00:27:01.160 Avi Yamini, our Melbourne-based Chief Australia Correspondent, was walking in a park on the way to a protest.
00:27:07.700 At the same time, a woman who was sitting on a park bench was arrested and smashed into the ground by, when I first counted, seven cops.
00:27:19.180 She saw him and she called out, Avi, help!
00:27:22.740 She recognized him and she knew he was really the only person she could call for help.
00:27:28.000 I mean, when you are being attacked by police, you can't call police.
00:27:32.580 The police are the problem.
00:27:33.520 Avi heard this lady, went to help, and the rest, well, I'll show you the video.
00:27:39.280 It's incredible.
00:27:41.260 And only Rebel News could do this.
00:27:43.360 And Avi does a wonderful job.
00:27:44.800 So I'll say goodbye to you now.
00:27:46.900 And as I always say, keep fighting for freedom.
00:27:49.620 We'll see you tomorrow.
00:27:51.100 But here, enjoy one of the best Rebel videos in terms of telling the other side of the story,
00:27:57.080 getting to the facts of things,
00:27:59.160 standing up to bullies,
00:28:01.120 and then fighting back.
00:28:02.100 This video made me feel great.
00:28:03.720 Terrible, but then great.
00:28:05.220 All right, good night.
00:28:05.800 Take a look.
00:28:07.080 So you're abusing your power.
00:28:08.560 You're kicking a woman out from her own neighborhood park
00:28:11.680 because you think you have some sort of authority that you don't hold.
00:28:15.220 We're going to fight her fine.
00:28:16.280 We will win her fine.
00:28:17.120 But who are you?
00:28:18.040 What's your badge number?
00:28:18.880 Three, eight, three, nine, eight, nine, five.
00:28:21.660 You can't do that to locals.
00:28:23.620 She's a local.
00:28:24.720 You just can't do that.
00:28:25.600 You don't have the authority.
00:28:31.680 Oh, help!
00:28:33.520 Help me, help!
00:28:36.200 We're just walking around the park.
00:28:37.580 We just live around the corner.
00:28:38.980 Walking around the park, and then we started to take a seat, have some tea.
00:28:42.680 Help!
00:28:44.120 Help!
00:28:45.340 Help me!
00:28:46.260 Basically, when they asked her for her details, she didn't give them.
00:28:50.060 And then what they did was they pulled her to the ground,
00:28:53.060 and I took off my phone and started filming it.
00:28:55.400 They pushed me away, saying I need to clear the area.
00:28:58.500 Instinct said, now, I've got to protect my partner, so.
00:29:01.620 Help me!
00:29:02.500 We weren't together.
00:29:03.500 You were just sitting here?
00:29:04.420 They came and sat with us, and they were just walking in the park,
00:29:07.440 and then the lady didn't want to give her details,
00:29:10.220 so they all jumped on her, so I don't know.
00:29:12.420 They asked them, what are you doing?
00:29:13.480 They said, well, we're drinking.
00:29:14.720 We're going to be exercising, but they're sitting down to drink tea.
00:29:17.540 They said, but you're not exercising.
00:29:20.020 She goes, no, we're having tea now.
00:29:22.020 Are the cops still talking to her?
00:29:23.500 Yeah.
00:29:23.900 Oh, OK.
00:29:24.880 So you, once you gave them your details, they let you go?
00:29:27.500 Yeah, they said, you know what I mean,
00:29:28.840 I might get a summons for, you know what I mean, hindering the police.
00:29:32.840 Just come to sit down, and we're like, what the hell's going on here?
00:29:36.660 Yeah.
00:29:36.960 Yeah.
00:29:37.800 So you witnessed what actually happened, and they were just sitting here?
00:29:40.900 We were talking to them.
00:29:41.960 We just met them.
00:29:42.780 The lady said, we normally run jog at night,
00:29:45.480 but we can't do it anymore at night, so we exercise during the day now.
00:29:49.660 And that was it.
00:29:50.440 And then I don't know what happened, because I was talking to my daughter,
00:29:52.900 and all of a sudden they grabbed her, and they chucked her on the floor.
00:29:56.580 There you are.
00:29:57.260 How are you doing?
00:29:59.440 So, are you all right?
00:30:01.760 No, I've got a penalty.
00:30:03.120 What was a penalty for?
00:30:04.700 Sorry, do you mind if I look at it?
00:30:06.000 So it says, fail to comply, stay at home direction, but you live here.
00:30:11.600 I live just around the corner.
00:30:13.720 OK, so what we're going to do for you, right, you live across the road.
00:30:17.960 You're in your 15Ks.
00:30:19.280 Oh, definitely, yeah, yeah.
00:30:20.480 So this is our area.
00:30:22.080 This is how we come to exercise almost every day.
00:30:24.640 We came here to cover a protest, but what we're going to do is we'll help you.
00:30:28.180 I'll give you my details.
00:30:29.100 We'll take you on.
00:30:29.860 We'll get you the lawyer.
00:30:30.880 We'll fight this, and we'll beat this,
00:30:32.920 because there's no way that they can get you on failing to comply to stay at home direction.
00:30:39.360 OK, we'll get you a lawyer.
00:30:40.340 Don't worry.
00:30:41.840 I don't know if you've seen.
00:30:42.960 We do a Fight the Fines campaign.
00:30:44.480 I know your face, Ivy.
00:30:45.620 We'll crowdfund it.
00:30:48.460 People will support you at fightthefines.com.au.
00:30:52.080 We'll raise it.
00:30:52.800 We'll fight this.
00:30:53.320 I'll give you my number in a second off camera.
00:30:56.260 I was just sitting there drinking my tea.
00:30:58.780 We'd gone out for a walk, sat down, have a break,
00:31:02.200 because I was huffing and puffing,
00:31:03.300 because, like, most of us these days not fit anymore.
00:31:06.140 So I sat down to have some tea,
00:31:09.400 and then the police came by to ask for address and name,
00:31:15.000 and I asked whether I was obliged to answer,
00:31:17.480 and they said, you have to.
00:31:20.480 You know, next thing before I know it,
00:31:22.840 I'm being told that if I don't consent,
00:31:25.300 then I'm going to be arrested.
00:31:28.000 It was quite a violent arrest.
00:31:29.940 They slammed you to the ground.
00:31:31.700 I've been told that I've been treated very mildly, actually.
00:31:35.760 They broke my very expensive jade bracelet.
00:31:39.460 It was a gift from my mother-in-law.
00:31:41.320 I'm sorry.
00:31:42.120 I'm confident to tell you that we're going to fight,
00:31:44.520 and I find it hard to believe that we don't win it.
00:31:47.360 But when they come up to you,
00:31:48.500 if they suspect you and they have grounds to suspect you
00:31:50.800 for breaching anything, not just the health orders,
00:31:52.840 you can ask them, on what grounds do you believe you're suspecting
00:31:57.580 that I'm breaching it?
00:31:58.980 Now, I'm not giving you legal advice.
00:32:00.940 I'm not a lawyer, but the basis is,
00:32:03.040 and that's what I, are you guys married?
00:32:05.800 That's what I told your husband.
00:32:06.920 If they have grounds to suspect you,
00:32:08.840 then you do need to give your personal details.
00:32:10.700 You have to give that.
00:32:11.600 Otherwise, that's the charge.
00:32:12.900 We've had a lot of people come in with fines,
00:32:15.080 but the charge that they end up getting,
00:32:16.780 we get the fines taken care of,
00:32:19.520 but the fine that they technically really did commit,
00:32:21.880 even though they never committed the offence in the first place,
00:32:24.600 was the fact that they refused to give their details
00:32:27.760 when you're suspected of committing offence,
00:32:32.080 you have to, all right?
00:32:33.480 But we're going to take care of this.
00:32:34.740 Don't worry.
00:32:35.840 We see you've been through a pretty horrible little situation,
00:32:39.700 but we'll try and make it a little bit better, all right?
00:32:42.080 Thank you.
00:32:43.740 Honestly, it's the viewers that are going to make that happen,
00:32:46.460 and I think we just happen to be in the right place
00:32:48.380 at the right time to be able to capture what happened to you guys.
00:32:50.840 Text me.
00:32:51.320 Don't be shy.
00:32:52.640 Like, I need to get the lawyer straight on it,
00:32:54.580 and you're not going to be alone in this time.
00:32:58.120 What happened to you is absolutely ridiculous.
00:33:00.320 That's what we're seeing across Victoria,
00:33:02.740 people getting caught up in these things,
00:33:04.400 and it was an overreach, overstep,
00:33:06.720 and like an abuse of power.
00:33:09.880 How many cops were on you to take down someone smaller than me?
00:33:12.820 Just to put this into perspective, I'm a midget.
00:33:14.620 I'd better get back to work.
00:33:17.060 I'll give it to you here.
00:33:17.880 I'll see you if I see you.
00:33:19.240 It's not awful.
00:33:20.140 They told me the reasonable grounds of suspect
00:33:22.800 was that I was not wearing a face mask.
00:33:25.500 How are you going?
00:33:26.680 You were given a direction before you need to move on.
00:33:28.540 Yes, I'm leaving.
00:33:28.640 So you need to go now, okay?
00:33:30.140 I found my husband.
00:33:31.240 Yep.
00:33:31.500 So we need to move on.
00:33:32.500 Have a chat, OB.
00:33:33.420 Can I ask something, officer?
00:33:34.600 If she lives in the area,
00:33:35.800 why is she not allowed to be here?
00:33:37.340 I've got to answer questions.
00:33:38.100 She understands what's happening.
00:33:39.540 Why have you been told you have to move on?
00:33:41.280 Can I understand that?
00:33:42.740 Because that's a bit more...
00:33:43.420 She has to move on now.
00:33:44.440 She's already been given an infringement, okay?
00:33:46.240 I've got the infringement.
00:33:47.120 We're taking care of that for her.
00:33:48.140 But we want to understand why she's been...
00:33:50.440 It's been explained to her.
00:33:51.540 We're not going to explain to her.
00:33:51.900 Can I understand?
00:33:52.640 Because a lawyer would like to know.
00:33:53.880 We're taking this fight on for her
00:33:55.240 and would like to know why she's been given...
00:33:56.460 She lives in the area,
00:33:57.540 so she's legally allowed here.
00:33:58.980 We're not going to discuss that with you.
00:34:00.120 She's been given her direction.
00:34:01.180 She knows what direction.
00:34:01.460 What direction has she been given?
00:34:02.920 What direction?
00:34:03.600 She doesn't know.
00:34:04.340 She doesn't understand.
00:34:05.280 So you're abusing your power.
00:34:06.560 You're kicking a woman out
00:34:07.660 from her own neighbourhood park
00:34:09.680 because you think you have some sort of authority
00:34:11.940 that you don't hold.
00:34:13.260 We're going to fight a fine.
00:34:14.280 We will win a fine.
00:34:15.120 But who are you?
00:34:16.040 What's your badge number?
00:34:18.720 39895.
00:34:19.800 You can't do that to locals.
00:34:21.620 She's a local.
00:34:22.720 You just can't do that.
00:34:23.580 You don't have the authority.
00:34:25.020 So what is the move on order for?
00:34:27.180 We have provided her a lawyer.
00:34:28.500 I would like that information for her lawyer.
00:34:30.440 What is the move on order
00:34:31.620 that you're now giving to her?
00:34:33.380 You're not answering my questions.
00:34:35.360 All right.
00:34:35.520 So it's up to you.
00:34:36.000 Listen, it's up to you.
00:34:37.460 But whatever happens, we've got your back.
00:34:39.540 You know that if you're complying by the health orders,
00:34:42.420 we've got your back.
00:34:43.340 And there is no reason
00:34:44.460 that anyone can give you a direction otherwise.
00:34:47.020 Do you understand that?
00:34:48.360 I'm not telling you what to do.
00:34:49.980 I'm just saying I'm getting frustrated
00:34:51.540 because I get outraged
00:34:53.120 when I see them abuse their power like that.
00:34:55.800 All right, guys?
00:34:56.420 You all right?
00:34:57.360 No worries.
00:34:58.360 But we've got that.
00:34:59.160 I've given you my number.
00:35:00.300 Yeah, I'll text you later.
00:35:01.300 No worries.
00:35:02.200 Nice to meet you.
00:35:02.760 No worries.
00:35:03.840 I hope you're all right.
00:35:04.940 All right?
00:35:05.540 There you have it, guys.
00:35:06.520 And if you want to help this fight,
00:35:07.720 fightfines.com.au.
00:35:09.180 Listen, I just happen to be in the right place
00:35:11.100 at the right time.
00:35:12.440 It is outrageous that police in Victoria
00:35:14.860 think in 2021
00:35:16.460 under these ridiculous emergency powers
00:35:19.820 think they can tackle little women
00:35:21.560 sitting on park benches.
00:35:23.800 You've seen it.
00:35:25.160 Tackle her to the ground.
00:35:26.320 Issue her an infringement.
00:35:27.740 And then kick her out of her local park.
00:35:29.860 But we're going to fight for her.
00:35:30.740 Fightfines.com.au.
00:35:31.880 We're going to take care of it.
00:35:32.960 With your help, thank you guys.
00:35:34.060 At home, we can only do this with your support.
00:35:36.460 Fightfines.com.au.
00:35:37.540 Being a rebel means that
00:35:42.540 when you see something,
00:35:44.080 you actually stand up and say something
00:35:45.440 no matter what.
00:35:46.260 And when you see absolute thuggery
00:35:48.320 on our streets in the name of health,
00:35:50.360 you have to step in.
00:35:51.260 But none of this is possible without your help.
00:35:52.940 I wouldn't be as confident
00:35:54.080 to confront the police
00:35:55.560 about their abuse of power
00:35:56.960 and their overreach
00:35:58.680 and their thuggery
00:36:00.320 if not for you guys at home,
00:36:01.820 if not for the fact that you've helped me
00:36:03.140 go to court and fight my ones
00:36:04.380 and also give me the power
00:36:06.940 to help her.
00:36:08.180 So if you want to help out,
00:36:09.280 fightfines.com.au.
00:36:10.560 Give what you can.
00:36:12.020 We'll fight for her.
00:36:14.000 And we'll make sure police know
00:36:16.680 they can't get away with this.
