Summary

Tamara Leach's trial begins September 6th in Ottawa, Canada, and we're here to cover it. But that doesn't mean we're not paying close attention to what's going on back at home. In fact, we're in Tel Aviv, Israel, and in the United Arab Emirates, checking out the Abraham Accords to see if it's a warm peace between Israel and her Muslim neighbors.

Transcript

00:00:00.000 Hello, my friends. I am on the Rebel News journalistic mission to Israel and the United
00:00:05.000 Arab Emirates, where we're going to be checking out the Abraham Accords. Is it a real warm
00:00:10.460 peace between Israel and her Muslim neighbors? We'll find out and let you know along the way.
00:00:15.580 It's also an exciting trip because we have about 45, I think, Rebel enthusiasts along with us. So
00:00:23.220 it's part tourism, part journalism, part research. It's a great thing. And Rebel News does these
00:00:30.660 things. We used to do them a lot more before the lockdowns. Anyways, today, though, our focus is
00:00:35.640 back on Canada with Tamara Leach's trial. We have two reporters there, Robert Krejcik, Lincoln Jay.
00:00:42.720 But here I want to show you a recap of the best of our Tamara Leach coverage. But I want to invite
00:00:50.360 you to see the video version of it. Just go to rebelnewsplus.com. If you're a subscriber,
00:00:55.300 it's eight bucks a month. You get the video version of it. But that's today's show.
00:01:13.720 Tonight, Tamara Leach on trial. It's September 6th, and this is the Ezra Levant Show.
00:01:20.360 Oh, hi, everybody. Ezra Levant here. As you can see, I am at night, but it's daytime in Canada. We just
00:01:40.400 landed in Tel Aviv, Israel for our rebel journalistic mission here. We've got half a dozen rebels with us,
00:01:48.500 but we invited our most enthusiastic fans to see not just Israel, but the United Arab Emirates,
00:01:55.640 because those are two of the countries under Donald Trump's Abraham Accords, the most surprising
00:02:01.540 and hopeful peace treaty in probably close to a century, bringing former enemies, various Arab
00:02:08.740 states in Israel into a true friendship. At least that's what it looks like. And we're here to
00:02:13.360 investigate. We're going to spend a week in Israel, and then we're going to the United Arab Emirates to
00:02:17.520 see if it is indeed a warm peace. So that's why I'm over here, along with Sheila Goddry, David Menzies,
00:02:24.060 and some more of our team. But that doesn't mean that we're not paying close attention to what's going on
00:02:29.460 back at home. We scheduled our Israel Abraham Accords trip before we knew the dates for Tamara Leach's
00:02:37.040 very important trial. As you know, Tamara Leach was, I would call her, the spiritual leader of the convoy,
00:02:43.840 and she's been punished, therefore, by Justin Trudeau and some out-of-control prosecutors. The trial has
00:02:50.380 begun in Ottawa, and although Sheila and I are over here, we're keeping an eye on it. We'll have some comments,
00:02:56.280 but I'm happy to report that in Ottawa, based full-time, we have a reporter named Robert Krejcik, who's live-tweeting
00:03:04.680 from the trial. Our reporter Lincoln Jay is there. Alan Hauner from the Democracy Fund is there as well.
00:03:12.640 So there are a lot of friendly voices giving close attention to what's going on over there,
00:03:18.400 and I hope you follow it. TamaraTrial.com is where we'll have our updates on the trial.
00:03:24.740 Sheila and I, and maybe David too, will have some occasional comments from overseas here,
00:03:29.380 but of course the people on the ground are the ones you'll want to watch. If you're on Twitter,
00:03:33.580 you can follow all of this on our Rebel News Twitter account or on our website where we'll
00:03:38.540 compile things too. I want to show you some of the highlights of our coverage of Tamara Leach
00:03:46.200 over the last year. You know, I only had the pleasure to get to know her in the last six months,
00:03:50.860 really, as Rebel News published her book, Hold the Line, because what's so interesting about Tamara
00:03:57.100 is she's the same person in public as she is in private. She's remarkably humble and remarkably
00:04:02.940 positive. She's not a showboat. She's not an attention monger. She's a hard worker. She's a
00:04:09.440 detail person, a logistics person. That's what her great value was to the truckers, but the greatest
00:04:15.080 value, I put it to you, was that she insisted on a peaceful, friendly, love-all approach in response
00:04:24.180 to the government's hate-all approach, and she was such a counterpoint to the bullying language and
00:04:30.660 rhetoric and laws of Justin Trudeau. I mean, seriously, here's an example of a Tamara Leach
00:04:37.620 Facebook video that she did at the time telling her followers to be peaceful and full of love.
00:04:42.720 Here's an example. There's a lot of rightful anger at our government, but I want you to know
00:04:55.360 that Justin Trudeau has three beautiful children. So remember that we don't have to like what he does,
00:05:21.360 but I'm going to ask you to pray for him too. And I'm going to ask you when you fly a fuck Trudeau sign
00:05:37.920 that he has three kids, just like me.
00:05:54.520 I pray that you all find forgiveness in your hearts.
00:05:58.300 And I pray that you all find love, even when we don't understand it.
00:06:07.540 Contrast that with Justin Trudeau and his angry face when he said, should we even tolerate
00:06:13.480 the unvaccinated? Here's some reminders of that cad.
00:06:37.260 That's why they're coming for Tamara Leach. She made it impossible for Justin Trudeau
00:06:43.260 and the regime media to colour the convoy as hateful insurrectionists. They just couldn't do it
00:06:49.400 when you had this lovable, loving, Métis grandma as the leader of it. And you had peaceful
00:06:55.520 truckers of every background and that festival feeling with the hot tubs and the bouncy castles.
00:07:01.580 So I'm going to show you a few more clips of the highlights of our coverage of Tamara Leach
00:07:06.060 until this moment. And if you haven't yet got her book, I really recommend it. You know, I thought I
00:07:10.560 follow the news pretty closely. I'm in the business. And I've gotten to know Tamara Leach a little bit
00:07:15.180 as a person. But I learned so much about her from the book. I thought I knew the whole story. I
00:07:21.260 obviously didn't. And there were some infuriating things, a lot of behind the scenes things. So I
00:07:26.260 encourage you to look at her book as well. You can find that on our website. I'm going to close
00:07:31.180 because I'm in beautiful Tel Aviv. It looks like a vacation and it sort of is. You can see I've got
00:07:37.100 my team name tag here, everyone. We've got about just under 50 guests and rebels together. I just want
00:07:44.720 to close by encouraging you to consider joining us on one of these rebel events. It's a real
00:07:50.160 journalistic event. We are going to be doing journalism, talking to military people, diplomats,
00:07:56.060 business people, people on the Arab side of the story, people on the Israeli side of the story.
00:08:01.420 We're going to interesting historical, archaeological, and religious things. We're going to be doing
00:08:06.520 journalism along the way. But what's fun is that we're bringing people along to be a part of it.
00:08:12.480 So you will have the same access that we do. We're here with about 40-something people,
00:08:18.920 and we're going to be doing more events now that the lockdowns are gone. And now that there's no
00:08:23.980 more vaccine requirements for travel, we're getting back into the events more than we ever have before.
00:08:29.740 We've done a ton of events back in Canada, as you know. We've done book events. We've done documentary
00:08:35.200 movie premieres. But we're going to be doing these sort of intensive, subject-focused, themed trips
00:08:41.220 again. This one to Israel is a great example. We've got a cruise coming up in March. The cruise is
00:08:49.020 pretty fun, but on the ship we'll be having panel discussions and Q&As. So I'd like to invite you to
00:08:55.000 become part of what I call the Rebel News community. Because although it's a fascinating country,
00:09:00.500 Israel and United Arab Emirates, and although we're meeting fascinating guest speakers, it's really
00:09:06.000 fun to do these travels with like-minded rebels. In fact, we've got rebels from as far away as
00:09:11.600 Australia who have joined us. So it's pretty fun. Anyways, that's it for me. I'm going to now leave you
00:09:17.000 with the highlights, the best of our coverage of Tamara Leach.
00:09:20.960 We started off this convoy calling it taking back our freedoms. But our freedoms are nobody's to
00:09:47.400 take away. So we're going to restore everybody's freedoms.
00:09:52.900 Have a good night. See you soon, Tamara. Hold the line. Hold the line.
00:09:57.660 After Leach was arrested, she was still counselling others to hold the line,
00:10:03.360 essentially breaking the law to go home.
00:10:05.880 People are grabbing onto me and crying because they've lost everything.
00:10:10.500 Disturbing details tonight about conditions inside some of Canada's quarantine.
00:10:15.000 Woman is a freak, you guys. I'm going to our restaurant. You're all set in our world.
00:10:19.260 What are you? What is she looking for? What is she looking for? What is she looking for?
00:10:22.500 Look at her. Look at her.
00:10:23.760 My mother died by herself because I couldn't go to a long-term care facility. This is not right.
00:10:29.060 Ontario is going into its third state of emergency while-
00:10:32.440 Intensi is not an essential reason.
00:10:34.000 No, I'm going to file a meter.
00:10:35.760 I don't know how to do it.
00:10:39.000 Freaking fascist!
00:10:41.000 This has to end.
00:10:42.260 There'll be a curfew from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
00:10:50.520 It's for you.
00:10:51.020 Because you have no valid reason to be outside after curfew.
00:10:54.020 You are ordered as a participant in a demonstration to wear a face covering.
00:11:00.200 You are also ordered to be at least two meters away.
00:11:03.760 People have been separated for so long.
00:11:05.960 I've had so many hugs.
00:11:07.860 And do you know how long it's been since people were allowed to hug?
00:11:11.620 And that's not right.
00:11:13.120 Get out of here.
00:11:14.120 I am not leaving.
00:11:15.120 I have enough food to stay for a week.
00:11:18.120 I could be on lunch a long time.
00:11:20.620 We ask everybody to be respectful.
00:11:22.880 And we're here until this is over.
00:11:27.380 Tamera Litch, one of the founders and organizers of the Freedom Convoy, has been arrested again.
00:11:32.380 Litch was arrested in medicine and brought back to Ottawa to go in front of a judge.
00:11:36.000 On a Winnipeg street, a convoy of trucks and other vehicles.
00:11:58.440 Contestors say they are preparing, but they don't know how many protesters like to go up.
00:12:05.860 Or call a fringe minority of people who are on their way to Ottawa or who are holding unacceptable views.
00:12:17.940 This is a reaction to COVID restrictions.
00:12:20.440 The poll has been removed as conservative leader by his own caucus.
00:12:24.440 He's been ousted in his position.
00:12:26.440 The Canadian authorities have moved to the Bank of the Bank of the Bank.
00:12:29.440 The funding has also freezed $10 million in donations to the truckers.
00:12:32.440 We're not going to give up.
00:12:33.440 We're going to fight and fight and fight until we get our country back.
00:12:36.440 We're going to save our children, our grandchildren.
00:12:38.440 And we're loving every minute of it.
00:12:40.440 Your trial is coming up.
00:12:56.440 And I want to be very careful not to get you to weigh in because I don't want you to prejudice your case.
00:13:01.440 And obviously we don't want to violate your bail conditions.
00:13:04.440 We were careful with your book.
00:13:05.440 Your book was lawyered in advance.
00:13:07.440 Not that there was anything wrong with it.
00:13:09.440 But we just didn't want to take the chance because the government, I think they have a vendetta against you.
00:13:14.440 And again, we'll never be able to know all their motivations.
00:13:17.440 But I think the government didn't like the fact that you challenged their narrative.
00:13:22.440 And they didn't, if I may, they didn't like you personally because you broke their caricature.
00:13:30.440 Their caricature of the trucker convoy was angry, male, shouting, maybe a little verbally abusive.
00:13:38.440 You are, I like to say, a five-foot-nothing Métis grandma from Alberta who answers hate with love.
00:13:46.440 In fact, you turned the other cheek more than I ever could.
00:13:49.440 I think that's why they had to go after you is because they said, we can't let Tamara Leach be the foil for Justin Trudeau.
00:13:58.440 And they wanted to punish you because you were effective.
00:14:01.440 That's my personal theory.
00:14:03.440 You can call that paranoia, but I don't think so.
00:14:05.440 I think it's just, they wanted to take you out of the public conversation.
00:14:11.440 I think you're right.
00:14:12.440 And I think what really scared them the most was the unity that happened across Canada.
00:14:18.440 It was very obvious and still is to me that they were dividing people by every label they could think of for the last few years.
00:14:25.440 And I think that's what really scared them the most was seeing Canadians just drop those labels and just be so proud to be Canadian.
00:14:32.440 I want to ask you a personal question.
00:14:35.440 I have never been to prison as a prisoner.
00:14:38.440 I've visited people in prison and I can sense how stressful it is, how it makes you feel completely helpless.
00:14:47.440 That was the chief feeling I had when I would sometimes visit people in prison.
00:14:52.440 You were treated roughly, in my view.
00:14:59.440 You were put in isolation.
00:15:02.440 You were, you were arrested in jail for ridiculous reasons that judges later said, but still 49 days.
00:15:13.440 I just want to ask you, how, how did you keep your sanity when all around you were losing theirs?
00:15:23.440 It's like that poem by Kipling, if, to keep your wits while all those around you.
00:15:28.440 Where did you reach into?
00:15:30.440 Was it religion?
00:15:31.440 Was it family?
00:15:32.440 Was it a code, like a personal philosophical code?
00:15:39.440 I don't know if I could have held out and been as positive as you are.
00:15:46.440 I think I might have cracked.
00:15:48.440 I think I might have turned bitter or sour.
00:15:51.440 Can you tell me where you went in your heart or your mind to survive what I think was an abusive detention?
00:16:02.440 That's a great question.
00:16:05.440 I often talk about how, for me, a lot of this has been like a divine journey, a divine adventure.
00:16:11.440 And I just recognized the things that were inadvertently exposed by products of the convoy, you know, like the mainstream media, the banking systems, the corruption at corporations like GoFundMe, government, all levels of government.
00:16:27.440 And I just felt like that was a divine, you know.
00:16:32.440 And so when I got arrested, I just felt like, okay, you have more work for me to do.
00:16:36.440 And, you know, I, I prayed a lot.
00:16:38.440 My mantra was thy will, not my will.
00:16:41.440 Were you Christian?
00:16:42.440 Yeah, I was raised Christian.
00:16:44.440 I also have my native spirituality and yes, and I've done energy healing and stuff like that.
00:16:50.440 So I have a really nice hybrid of beliefs that, that really work for me, a kind of a combination of all of them.
00:16:56.440 And, and at the core of all of them is love.
00:16:59.440 And I truly believe that that's how we win.
00:17:02.440 For months, Lish has been vilified in the media by the government and by citizen.
00:17:07.440 However, Tamara, due to her draconian bail conditions, hasn't been able to defend herself and defend her reputation when facing the severe vilification.
00:17:16.440 Tamara spent an incredible amount of time in jail because she dared protest Justin Trudeau.
00:17:21.440 She spent 49 days in jail on minor charges.
00:17:25.440 And on November 3rd and 4th, Tamara was able to speak for the first time in nearly eight months.
00:17:30.440 Tamara was able to defend herself and say her version of events to the public and to the media.
00:17:35.440 She did so during her testimony during the Emergencies Act inquiry.
00:17:39.440 An inquiry once again that is occurring since Justin Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act on February on protesters who were part of the Freedom Convoy protesting COVID-19 mandates.
00:17:51.440 The inquiry examines the necessity of that never used before law to arrest anti-regime demonstrators.
00:17:57.440 Support our independent coverage of the commission.
00:17:59.440 Visit shakercommission.com.
00:18:01.440 Licious bail conditions make it almost impossible for her to talk to the media.
00:18:06.440 And Tamara gave a very emotional testimony.
00:18:09.440 Watch some of what she had to say.
00:18:12.440 We just sort of came to the same conclusion that we weren't sure if that was an idea that would be successful.
00:18:20.440 I just felt like I needed to exercise my democratic rights.
00:18:25.440 I have tried over the years emailing MPs and just never got a response.
00:18:32.440 How had COVID-19 restrictions or mandates affected you personally?
00:18:37.440 Well, I lost my job.
00:18:39.440 My husband also lost his job on the same day.
00:18:42.440 My parents run a pilot truck business and a lot of their business was involved crossing the border, which they were no longer allowed to do.
00:18:54.440 Because I was seeing families torn apart.
00:18:57.440 The suicides in my hometown were so numerous that they stopped reporting them.
00:19:05.440 Tamara Leish testified for close to a full day in total, beginning her testimony on the afternoon of November 3rd and ending it on November 4th at around 11 a.m.
00:19:15.440 Leish was first examined by the commission and gave an incredibly emotional statement when recalling how she felt after being arrested and how it has affected her life.
00:19:25.440 Watch what Leish has to say.
00:19:28.440 How has the arrest affected your life?
00:19:41.440 I've lost my job.
00:19:44.440 I've lost my freedom of speech.
00:19:49.440 I've lost my freedom to communicate with my friends, which was quite traumatizing because we just experienced something huge.
00:20:04.440 And we didn't get any time to even sit down as a group and just talk about it and talk about it.
00:20:13.440 And talk about our experience.
00:20:15.440 We didn't have that opportunity.
00:20:16.440 That was taken away from me.
00:20:18.440 I have to be very careful about every move that I make.
00:20:23.440 As you know, I was arrested on an alleged breach charge for attending a dinner in Toronto.
00:20:32.440 I had the police show up at the place that I'm staying last weekend because somebody saw me outside smoking a cigarette.
00:20:42.440 I have a daughter that I don't want her to be seen with me.
00:20:54.440 Because I'm worried.
00:20:55.440 I'm so sorry.
00:20:56.440 Take your time.
00:20:59.440 I have yet to see the particulars of the mischief that I am alleged to have committed.
00:21:04.440 My name is Tabitha Peter Lane from Virgo News.
00:21:09.440 A lot of questions.
00:21:10.440 Tamera Lee, if he is in prison for having a selfie with an opponent of Trudeau, another trucker, protester, has been in prison ever since February.
00:21:22.440 Even if you disagree with them, aren't you concerned about civil liberties in Canada?
00:21:23.440 Isn't this authoritarian?
00:21:24.440 What are your comments on this?
00:21:25.440 Absolutely I'm concerned about civil liberties.
00:21:26.440 I'm a lawyer so these things are very important to me.
00:21:27.440 And the truth of the matter is complete confession.
00:21:28.440 I have not seen Tamera's bail papers.
00:21:47.440 a lawyer, so these things are very important to me. And the truth of the matter is, complete
00:21:52.200 confession, I have not seen Tamara's bail papers. I don't know what her terms of the
00:21:58.660 bail were, and I haven't read the case to see what the alleged breach is. What I do
00:22:04.760 say is I see her as someone who's a freedom fighter. I think it's very important that
00:22:12.400 the right to protest is unfettered and unencumbered and we need to know that the
00:22:19.360 fact that you have to ask that question shows a distrust that we have in our
00:22:25.480 government and our democracy. Because a question like that should be asked in a
00:22:30.760 dictatorship society. People should wonder whether or not she's
00:22:36.880 getting a fair trial. But when we saw that in her first case, the person who
00:22:42.880 presided over her case was a former liberal candidate, and that judge did not recluse
00:22:49.600 themselves, of course people are going to have distrust in the system. So I do
00:22:54.700 believe that the next leader will have to restore faith in our democracy, and I
00:23:00.580 intend to do that.
00:23:03.340 What's your opinion of the Freedom Convoy and Tamara Leash? I support them fully.
00:23:09.340 Absolutely, yes I do. I'd rather they not occupy the city in the middle. Very much
00:23:14.020 better ways to get your message across. Have you heard of the name Tamara Leash?
00:23:17.340 Yes. The organizer? Yeah. What's your opinion of her? I mean, all that I know from her is
00:23:23.200 that she broke her parole a few times and they've been after her for that.
00:23:29.200 Oh, I think it was stupid.
00:23:31.200 I've got no opinion of her. I'm not too familiar with her situation.
00:23:35.880 My personal opinion? She doesn't bother me. I wish they would let her go free.
00:23:40.200 Do you agree with the movement of the Freedom Convoy? No. Do you think that the organizers
00:23:46.200 of the movement should be jailed? Jail? I don't know. Do you think she should be in jail
00:23:53.200 for having organized the convoy or for having allegedly breaking her bail? That's not for
00:23:58.200 me to say, but she broke her parole and for that she should be in jail. Yeah, I feel like
00:24:02.200 she should be in jail, honestly. And I feel like she's always back and forth with breaking
00:24:06.200 parole and stuff, you know? Like, she's always, like, I hear news about her always being,
00:24:10.200 coming from Ottawa, like, coming in Ottawa to, you know, go to work.
00:24:13.200 What news have you seen about her? Well, the bail, the parole, or recently, in the recent
00:24:16.200 weeks? Just, like, what I've seen on, like, the news, just, like, she, I think she lives
00:24:22.200 in Alberta or something, and then she got caught, like, breaking her parole, like, talking
00:24:27.200 to her Freedom Convoy organizers, and then she came back here to Ottawa to, like, talk about,
00:24:32.200 like, if she broke bail or not, and it just keeps going back and forth. She keeps doing it.
00:24:35.200 It's just, like, why? She should just stop doing it. She should stop doing it, yeah.
00:24:38.200 Like, if you're breaking parole, maybe you shouldn't be doing that.
00:24:40.200 Well, I'd have to take a closer look at, you know, exactly what they did. I'm not too
00:24:45.200 sure what the fact situation is, the extent to which what they organized was not law-abiding.
00:24:55.200 So, like I said, I'm not too familiar, so. Well, if they do something bad, I mean, yes.
00:25:02.200 It should be set free. Absolutely, yeah.
00:25:04.200 Why, what's the reason for you supporting the Freedom Convoy?
00:25:07.200 Freedom of speech. It's been violated. And so, I just believe that this is a travesty
00:25:13.200 against our country.
00:25:14.200 There's other people that deserve to be jailed more than her.
00:25:18.200 Yeah, boy! Yeah, boy! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!
00:25:23.200 Yeah, boy! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah, pretty woman! Yeah! Yeah! We love you, Tamara!
00:25:36.200 Tamara!
00:26:06.200 Hey!
00:26:08.200 Man!
00:26:09.200 Hey!
00:26:10.200 It's a frigging clerk.
00:26:14.200 This guy right there!
00:26:16.200 This guy right here!
00:26:18.200 Can you explain to me what happened?
00:26:20.200 I was helping write Free Tamera and Free Pat King, political prisoners across Wellington Street.
00:26:29.200 And I was pulled over and given a fine of 1130 dollars for him.
00:26:33.200 What did you use to write that on the street?
00:26:35.200 to ride that on the streets?
00:26:36.200 Chalk.
00:26:37.200 Chalk.
00:26:38.200 So it's erasable?
00:26:39.200 Yes.
00:26:40.200 Rain will wash it right off.
00:26:41.200 How much will your fine be?
00:26:42.200 $1,130.
00:26:44.200 That's with the victim's surcharge, I believe.
00:26:46.200 What did the police tell you concretely about why they apprehended you?
00:26:51.200 They actually talked to me because I was in the midst of finishing the ass and said
00:26:57.200 they got come to talk to me and they figured they'd be able to give me a fine instead of
00:27:02.200 when he charged me with criminal mischief because I explained to them that it was not paint,
00:27:06.200 that it was actually chalk and it was washable.
00:27:08.200 Now we're standing outside the Remand Centre, more specifically we're standing outside the
00:27:12.200 Medicine Hat Police Services Station, of course, the Remand right beside us where she's actually
00:27:17.200 being held right now before her transit to Ottawa takes place.
00:27:20.200 Now this is going to happen because of the breaching of her bail conditions and we're
00:27:24.200 expecting to see that transit tomorrow at which time, well, she's going to have to face
00:27:29.200 the justice in Ottawa.
00:27:30.200 But right now, thanks to 23,000 people that have signed up and, well, more specifically,
00:27:35.200 signed the petition at freetomerit.ca, well, they've said that.
00:27:40.200 Why?
00:27:41.200 Why is she being arrested?
00:27:42.200 She broke some bail conditions because there was a picture taken of her with somebody who
00:27:46.200 was also part of the convoy?
00:27:47.200 This is getting a little out of hand.
00:27:49.200 I think that's what these 23,000 people thought.
00:27:51.200 So what we're going to do today is we're going to go in and hand this to the Medicine Hat Police
00:27:56.200 Services and let them know what the people really think.
00:28:01.200 That was really bad.
00:28:02.200 All right.
00:28:03.200 Sorry.
00:28:04.200 I don't know if Tom wasn't recording me.
00:28:05.200 Okay.
00:28:06.200 We just have a, it is a petition to drop off.
00:28:07.200 That's all.
00:28:08.200 It's not an interview.
00:28:09.200 I'll take you a second.
00:28:10.200 Okay.
00:28:11.200 Thank you.
00:28:12.200 Okay.
00:28:13.200 I'll take you a second.
00:28:14.200 Okay.
00:28:15.200 Thank you.
00:28:16.200 All right.
00:28:17.200 So, let's have this petition that we're dropping off today.
00:28:18.200 Of course, being the guys who pulled in Tamara or arrested Tamara, so to speak.
00:28:20.200 I can tell you she's not with us.
00:28:21.200 Yep.
00:28:22.200 So we can take the petition.
00:28:23.200 But I'm thinking that the better place for that to go would be to the, your member of
00:28:24.200 Parliament's office rather than here.
00:28:25.200 Well, I mean, the member of Parliament isn't the one who put the cuffs on her.
00:28:26.200 Okay.
00:28:27.200 Okay.
00:28:28.200 Thank you.
00:28:29.200 Okay.
00:28:30.200 Thank you.
00:28:31.200 All right.
00:28:32.200 So, let's have this petition that we're dropping off today.
00:28:33.200 Of course, being the guys who pulled in Tamara or arrested Tamara, so to speak.
00:28:36.200 I can tell you she's not with us.
00:28:39.200 Yep.
00:28:40.200 So we can take the petition.
00:28:42.200 But I'm thinking that the better place for that to go would be to the, your member of Parliament's
00:28:48.200 office rather than here.
00:28:49.200 Well, I mean, the member of Parliament isn't the one who put the cuffs on her, right?
00:28:53.200 And I think that's what these 23,000 individuals also think is that what happened wasn't correct.
00:28:59.200 And considering the partial involvement, I understand not full involvement, but considering
00:29:04.200 that the orders came from Ottawa and they were pursued here, I think those 23,000 people
00:29:09.200 and growing online would like to give this to you guys so that you know how many people
00:29:13.200 believe that what happened was wrong.
00:29:15.200 Honestly, I think so many people have asked me that if you're going to run for politics,
00:29:31.200 and it's not something that I ever really wanted to do.
00:29:33.200 But I think it would problem me too much, honestly.
00:29:37.200 I think I'm better served outside of politics where they can't put any change on me, so to speak.
00:29:43.200 Well, I mean, unless we can change the way that the system works anyways, you know.
00:29:48.200 It's a tough game.
00:29:51.200 Tamara Ugolini here with Rebel News at the Church of God in Aylmer for the final stop in Tamara Leach's
00:29:57.200 book signing tour in Ontario.
00:30:00.200 The novel details the unfolding of the Freedom Convoy from Tamara Leach's perspective
00:30:05.200 when it took to the nation's capital in January and February of 2022 in opposition of government overreach
00:30:12.200 under the guise of COVID-19 related public health measures like border restrictions and COVID-19 vaccine mandates.
00:30:19.200 If you'd like to get a copy and find out about future book signing events,
00:30:23.200 then you can do so by checking out the website, theconvoybook.com.
00:30:28.200 We're going to wade through the crowd, the nearly 300-person crowd here,
00:30:33.200 and find out what brings people out tonight.
00:30:36.200 So let's check it out.
00:30:37.200 Hi.
00:30:38.200 So what brings you out to the Hold the Line event tonight?
00:30:40.200 Tamara Leach.
00:30:41.200 Yeah.
00:30:42.200 Yes, absolutely.
00:30:43.200 I'm really excited to meet her.
00:30:44.200 I've read her book, and I was just fascinated with it, and her strong faith and her step-fastness
00:30:51.200 is what struck me so much.
00:30:52.200 What brings you out to the event tonight?
00:30:54.200 Just to get my book signed by Tamara Leach because she gave me hope when there wasn't any.
00:30:59.200 And my husband coerced me into coming with him tonight.
00:31:03.200 He won't be on camera, but for anybody who's watching, he did get a book, so he will be able to pass it on to you.
00:31:11.200 I think I'm more or less curious about how the Canadian government is violating our rights.
00:31:23.200 And so it's good for me to take some lessons and be exposed to some of the other side.
00:31:30.200 After a two-day bail review that took place last week and the official ruling from today,
00:31:36.200 it has been concluded that Tamara Leach will not be going back to jail to await her trial.
00:31:43.200 Now, if convicted, she could see some time behind bars, but we're just going to have to wait and see what happens.
00:31:50.200 If you agree that the federal government needs to stop the political persecution of protesters,
00:31:57.200 we have created a website and a petition that you can sign to show that you simply do not agree with these terms
00:32:05.200 that the federal government is trying to throw down on peaceful protesters.
00:32:11.200 The website we have created is called freetameralich.com, and through that website, you can sign our petition
00:32:18.200 if you simply agree that this political persecution needs to stop.
00:32:23.200 Now, I'm very curious as to what some of the residents here in Ottawa feel about the bail review.
00:32:30.200 I'm sure a lot of them aren't even aware of the news at the time that I'm recording this,
00:32:35.200 so I'm going to break the news to some of them and get some reactions, just see how some of the people here in Ottawa feel about their ruling.
00:32:44.200 Let's take a look.
00:32:45.200 Well, honestly, to tell you the truth, the only thing I can say is I'm so sorry all this has happened, it's come to this.
00:32:55.200 The judges rule as they see fit. I studied law. I'm not involved in the case personally, I would have to say, I don't know what to say really.
00:33:12.200 The judge made the correct decision. This is a ridiculous circus. It's a political circus. Everybody knows it.
00:33:22.200 Even the fake news who like spew the lies.
00:33:27.200 I understand that she was supposed to be accepting some kind of award and that was why she breached her bail conditions.
00:33:34.200 But I think as long as she adheres to her bail conditions and isn't involved with any other convoys,
00:33:40.200 she shouldn't have to remain in prison until the trial occurs.
00:33:44.200 My overall thoughts is I think it just should be over with. I don't really think she needs to be on bail.
00:33:48.200 I think she should just pay a fine and be gone. I mean, it's civil disobedience. It's not like it's she didn't have a AK-47.
00:33:55.200 She didn't rip off the city or anything. So anything more than that seems ridiculous to me.
00:34:01.200 She should go. I'll send her to Ukraine to fight there for freedom. And then we'll see freedom.
00:34:07.200 Fight for you. Freedom, go to Ukraine. And don't stay here and just destroy everything.
00:34:13.200 So because you don't know, you don't know the world and you don't have a clue what's going on.
00:34:18.200 Oh, I send you to Syria for a change and fight against Assad and see you fighting for freedom, not walking around here and bothering people.
00:34:27.200 And yes, whatever she has to pay, she should pay. That's it.
00:34:30.200 I think that if she accepted a reward in the public, like was it publicized and like on television or for online, so with followers to view.
00:34:42.200 So that continues her message. I think that she should remain behind bars if she has that would be considered a breach.
00:34:49.200 But it all depends on the judge.
00:34:51.200 Constituents of Medicine Hat in Cyprus have had a lot of messages for me.
00:34:55.200 They support Tamara. They're appalled that Justin Trudeau, Eastern Elite Media, this has gone as far as it has.
00:35:05.200 But for the people of Medicine Hat, I would say, first of all, I'm grateful to represent them.
00:35:10.200 Secondly, keep fighting for freedom, economic freedom, individual opportunity.
00:35:16.200 You know, it's no surprise that Tamara comes from here.
00:35:20.200 Medicine Hat's a beautiful city where people value the opportunity to help themselves, help their family, help their community and value the opportunity to work hard and get ahead.
00:35:30.200 And then again, I'm so pleased that Tamara's taken so much risk, shown stuck in so much with her her beliefs and her, you know, her thoughts.
00:35:39.200 And I'm glad she did that.
00:35:40.200 Well, and what do you make of the alleged breaching of her bail conditions and the actions that have been taking place after?
00:35:45.200 Well, you know, I guess I'll leave that part to the judges and stuff.
00:35:51.200 But I'll say this in a world we live in a catch and release world where people that can commit several, you know, offences get released immediately.
00:36:01.200 Where it seems like there's not a lot of penalties or justice for a lot of things that happen.
00:36:09.200 Here we have a five foot tall, down to earth, hard working, risk taking, sticking with her values, Albertan, who's already spent, what, 17 days in jail because of mischief.
00:36:23.200 Is that the kind of society we want to live in where our freedoms, our individual opportunity to express ourselves, our civil liberties and, you know, are so ramrodded.
00:36:37.200 And, yeah, it's a difficult time.
00:36:40.200 But, you know, we saw it here in Medicine Hat where hundreds of Medicine Hatters texted me two or three days ago when she was put back in jail, appalled.
00:36:48.200 Several of them were down here peacefully protesting.
00:36:51.200 And, yeah, it's a scary time for those of us that believe in economic freedom, individual freedom and civil liberties.
00:37:00.200 You can see a pattern over the last few years.
00:37:03.200 Any time you run against the narrative that racist is their go to, which is really unfortunate, right?
00:37:10.200 These people are hard working blue collar men and women.
00:37:13.200 We have different cultures on this convoy taking part in this convoy.
00:37:18.200 So it's really disappointing that they would report stuff that they really don't know anything about and haven't even taken the time to actually investigate.
00:37:25.200 So I think what's happening, as I said before, is they're just being exposed, right?
00:37:30.200 They're just being exposed for who they are, which is which is quite terrible.
00:37:36.200 The last thing I am is a racist.
00:37:38.200 My heritage is Métis, right?
00:37:40.200 We took the clan mothers with us to the service today because we felt that it was important because after this we all have to heal.
00:37:47.200 And there's so much healing to be done already with all of our First Nations communities.
00:37:52.200 And I felt that it was really important to have them take part in this, right?
00:37:56.200 So it's it's really disappointing, but not surprising.
00:38:03.200 Did you did you drove that?
00:38:05.200 No, my girlfriend.
00:38:06.200 My girlfriend drew it.
00:38:09.200 Her mom.
00:38:10.200 Her mom.
00:38:11.200 We want our freedoms back.
00:38:13.200 That's it.
00:38:14.200 We want Canada to be Canada.
00:38:15.200 We just want the freedom of choice.
00:38:16.200 That's all.
00:38:17.200 Freedom of choice.
00:38:20.200 We as a people need to stand up and for what's going on here right now.
00:38:24.200 I think this will be probably our last chance to change what the government is planning for us all.
00:38:29.200 I think a change of government.
00:38:31.200 They need to change the government.
00:38:32.200 We need to step up as a people and fight for what we had to bring that back, right?
00:38:37.200 There's patriots out there.
00:38:39.200 They never would have thought that they would have had to fight for their freedom twice in their life.
00:38:43.200 I think once in their life for any for any man is enough.
00:38:49.200 That's that's where it has to end.
00:38:51.200 It has to end here.
00:38:52.200 I've gotten so many messages from people saying, you know, my son wanted to be a firefighter before, but now he wants to be a trucker.
00:39:05.200 It's amazing, right?
00:39:06.200 They're heroes.
00:39:07.200 These guys are heroes.
00:39:08.200 Honestly, they're they're taking time away from their families or sacrificing their income to take a stand.
00:39:13.200 But it started as the trucker vaccine mandate and now it's just become for all Canadians, right?
00:39:20.200 They're here to fight for all Canadians.
00:39:22.200 I'm 34 years in this country.
00:39:24.200 Me and my wife were thinking about living already selling the house and leave somewhere else.
00:39:30.200 Go to, I don't know, Mexico or go back to Poland.
00:39:33.200 But after what I see in here, I'm not going.
00:39:35.200 I'd rather fight.
00:39:36.200 The federal government has invoked the Emergencies Act to supplement provincial and territorial capacity.
00:39:49.200 The federal government is saying banks have already started to freeze.
00:39:52.200 If you are involved in this protest, we will actively look to identify you and follow up with financial sanctions.
00:40:01.200 On Friday, the only violence I saw coming from was the police force.
00:40:08.200 I just saw violence.
00:40:11.200 I saw aggression.
00:40:14.200 Harassment.
00:40:17.200 I saw threats.
00:40:22.200 I saw so much bad things happen that day, but that was not from the protesters.
00:40:29.200 When I saw them with flowers, peace, saying to them, we love you, Samuel, if you are against us.
00:40:36.200 We love you, Jesus Christ, and we love you so much.
00:40:39.200 That break my heart.
00:40:41.200 When I saw windows being broke and truckers that lost everything, their life, their business.
00:40:50.200 When they just fight for having back the basic freedom, that is not Canada.
00:41:03.200 I am not leaving.
00:41:04.200 I am not leaving.
00:41:05.200 I am not leaving.
00:41:06.200 I am not leaving.
00:41:07.200 I am not leaving.
00:41:08.200 You stay for a week.
00:41:09.200 I am not going to give up.
00:41:10.200 We are not going to give up.
00:41:12.200 We are going to fight.
00:41:13.200 Fight and fight until we get our country back.
00:41:15.200 We are going to save our children, our grandchildren, and we are loving every minute.
00:41:18.200 We are loving every minute.
00:41:19.200 I think everyone who has felt over the last couple of years, everyone who has felt like
00:41:25.200 they are maybe a little bit crazy, or they are not.
00:41:28.200 They are right.
00:41:29.200 They are right.
00:41:30.200 They are right.
00:41:31.200 They are right.
00:41:32.200 They are right.
00:41:33.200 I worked so hard.
00:41:34.200 I worked so hard.
00:41:35.200 I never done anything wrong.
00:41:36.200 I worked so hard when the COVID was.
00:41:42.200 I hold the US.
00:41:43.200 I come to Canada.
00:41:44.200 I face everything.
00:41:45.200 I went to my mom because she is 72 and I face her.
00:41:50.200 I wasn't afraid.
00:41:51.200 I put my mom's life in danger.
00:41:54.200 And I wasn't afraid.
00:41:56.200 Because I want to stand up for this one.
00:42:14.200 There's a pretty good chance.
00:42:17.200 Well, I think it's inevitable at this point.
00:42:23.200 But, uh, I'll probably be going somewhere tomorrow where I'll be getting three square meals a day.
00:42:32.200 And that's okay.
00:42:35.200 I, um, I'm okay with that.
00:42:38.200 And I want you to know that I'm not afraid.
00:42:41.200 Well, that's our show about Canada.
00:42:55.200 I'm standing here in Tel Aviv.
00:42:57.200 It's a fascinating city.
00:42:59.200 You have ancient Jaffa behind me.
00:43:01.200 And then you have modern skyscrapers around me.
00:43:04.200 We'll be going to older places still.
00:43:06.200 And perhaps one of the most newest places, new places in the world, Dubai.
00:43:11.200 Where we're going to see if this peace deal is indeed warm.
00:43:14.200 That's it for today.
