A case study of how the word "disinformation" is just a new way of deplatforming anyone you disagree with. The lead author is paid both by Justin Trudeau and the vaccine companies. I just don't know why they accept that conflict of interest.

00:00:00.840 Hello, my rebels. Today, I take you through a so-called disinformation study by the University
00:00:06.960 of Calgary. And as an alumnus of that place, I'm deeply embarrassed for their low standards
00:00:11.200 of academic rigor. This is just so embarrassing. And it won't surprise you to know that the
00:00:16.040 lead author is paid both by Justin Trudeau and the vaccine companies. I just don't know
00:00:21.380 why they accept that conflict of interest. But it's a disinformation study. And I think
00:00:26.560 it's a great case study of how the word disinformation is just a new way of deplatforming anyone you
00:00:33.380 disagree with. I'll take you through the study. You can be the judge of it. That's ahead. But I
00:00:37.160 really want to invite you to become a subscriber to Rebel News Plus. That's the video version of
00:00:40.640 this podcast. I want you to see the document itself. I'm going to take you through the document. I want
00:00:44.040 to show you the words. I want to show you his weird graphs and charts. And I know if you're just
00:00:49.660 listening to a podcast, you're not able to stop and watch that. But the video version shows you
00:00:53.900 that stuff. You can get the video version at rebelnewsplus.com. Eight bucks a month, my show
00:01:00.960 every night, plus four weekly shows for my colleagues. That's 36 shows a month for eight
00:01:06.240 smackers, half the price of Netflix. What a bargain. But mainly, it's so you can see the video version.
00:01:11.920 And we don't take any money from Trudeau. So we really do rely on your $8. That's rebelnewsplus.com.
00:01:19.140 All right, here's today's show.
00:01:23.900 Tonight, let me show you what a fraud this whole disinformation racket is. I have a gross
00:01:41.200 example from the University of Calgary. It's June 9th, and this is the Ezra LeVant Show.
00:01:47.040 When I was young, the left and the right debated. There's a popular show on CNN called Crossfire,
00:02:08.580 where you had two conservatives and two liberals go head to head. I liked it. Tucker Carlson,
00:02:14.820 by the way, was one of the permanent conservative hosts, and they would rotate a guest in. Canada
00:02:20.780 had a knockoff version of it called Face Off, which when you think about it, it's a great name.
00:02:26.360 And it evokes images of hockey, very Canadian. I was a guest on that show from time to time when
00:02:31.620 I was in my 20s. Judy Rebick, I don't know if you remember that name. She was the permanent host on
00:02:37.700 the left. She was a left-wing feminist. And on the right, Claire Hoy was the name of the permanent
00:02:43.680 conservative, and they would have guests on two at a time. I seem to recall Lori Goldstein going on
00:02:48.360 from time to time on the conservative side. Those two shows, Crossfire and Face Off, are unthinkable
00:02:55.300 now. Not because there would be no audience for it. I think there would be a big audience for it if
00:03:01.300 they could really chew over big issues, but rather because the left simply refuses to debate these
00:03:07.320 days. They wouldn't do it. You couldn't find a prominent leftist to debate a conservative. They'd
00:03:14.080 be attacked by their own kind, told not to platform the conservative. And remember, each of those shows
00:03:21.020 from the 90s had the permanent host, but that they had the second debater who would be new every day.
00:03:27.880 Um, that's how I got on, on Face Off. So even if you could find a leftist who could stomach a
00:03:35.540 permanent host, I mean, Claire Hoy was a pretty friendly guy, so it was easy for Judy Rebick to
00:03:42.160 get along with him. But you can imagine that every conservative guest of the day would be objectionable
00:03:47.440 in some way to the left. If you're going to talk about anything of controversy, I think about it.
00:03:53.640 They'd be skeptics about global warming. They'd be opposed to mandatory vaccines. They'd be skeptical
00:03:59.740 of the lockdowns. They'd be resistant to transgenderism in women's sports, women's prisons. They
00:04:05.940 have been pro-trucker-con for it. I mean, each and every guest on the right on every given day
00:04:11.940 would cause the left to start some cancel culture campaign. You know it's true.
00:04:16.600 Even if you could find that permanent left-wing host who would be cool with it, and I can't,
00:04:22.540 I can't think of anyone in 2022 on the left, you sure couldn't find a network that would host it.
00:04:29.920 Certainly not the CBC, which hosted Face Off back in the day. And even if you could find some obscure
00:04:35.580 channel, the CRTC would kill it. It's impossible. I put it to you that conservatives would love to have
00:04:44.420 such a show. Love to engage in debate, but the left just doesn't debate anymore. They de-platform.
00:04:50.640 They cancel. They dox. They destroy. Debate. I haven't seen it. Literally, Trudeau's government-controlled
00:04:59.280 debates commission refused to let Maxime Bernier join the debates in the last election. And same commission
00:05:05.920 refused to let Rebel News report on the debates twice in a row. We had to go to court twice to get a judge
00:05:12.640 to let us in. And the media were fine with that, by the way. In fact, it's the media who leads the
00:05:19.020 charge keeping us out. And my point here is that where in the past we might have debated each other,
00:05:26.000 we no longer do. I mean, I like to debate it. I actually think most conservatives do. And I
00:05:32.660 can't think of a single instance where a conservative activist, some group, has tried to deform a liberal or
00:05:39.980 left-wing event, say, at a university or some other forum. I can't think of one. Maybe you can.
00:05:45.500 Like pro-life campus clubs are routinely banned. Have you ever heard about pro-choice campus club
00:05:50.980 being banned just for one example? Right-wing speakers are banned all the time. Just think of,
00:05:55.980 I don't know, James O'Keefe, Ben Shapiro, Ann Coulter. But left-wing speakers, including actual terrorists
00:06:01.200 like Omar Khadar, who spoke at a university in Nova Scotia a couple years back, if you recall,
00:06:05.520 they are welcomed with open arms. And so it is in the news media. Instead of writing a letter to the
00:06:13.020 editor to disagree or writing a counterpoint, the move of the left these days is to cut off the
00:06:20.100 debate altogether, to end it altogether. And that has been done in the past decade by calling things
00:06:26.080 racist or sexist or Islamophobic or transphobic. But I think that's losing its power. People tune that
00:06:31.460 stuff out now. I don't think it works as much anymore. The next move was to label it as some
00:06:37.560 sort of insurrection or incitement. But I think the new move is to label things disinformation.
00:06:46.140 As in, it's not a fact up for debate. It's not an opinion that we debate. Is it reasonable or not?
00:06:52.840 It's not just wrong or unreasonable, but something that is inherently poisonous,
00:06:57.640 that you can't even talk about, something that is the work of an enemy, something that even to say
00:07:04.280 it proves that you're not only wrong, but disloyal and nefarious. And you yourself should be canceled
00:07:10.540 and stopped from saying anything more. And certainly your words should not be given any time.
00:07:15.940 That's what calling things disinformation is about. Now, 25 years ago, both sides would be on a TV show
00:07:22.500 debating. Now, one side is scientifically and scholarly proving that the other side shouldn't
00:07:30.100 even be listened to, and that perhaps the police or at least some spy agency ought to get involved.
00:07:36.060 Do you think I'm kidding? If you do, look at this disgraceful publication by my alma mater,
00:07:42.920 the University of Calgary. It's from their very fancy school of public policy.
00:07:47.080 And it's called, you can see the cover of it here, it's called Disinformation and Russia-Ukrainian
00:07:55.140 War on Canadian Social Media. Now, that's interesting to me because there is an enormous amount of
00:08:01.400 disinformation about that subject. War is a hothouse for disinformation. Demoralize the other side,
00:08:09.200 use propaganda to pump up your own side. You might have heard that in the Second World War,
00:08:15.340 the Axis, the Nazis, and the Japanese Empire, they had English-speaking women who went on the radio
00:08:22.480 talking to U.S. soldiers in the area. Tokyo Rose was the nickname of a woman who spoke English
00:08:31.280 to the American troops, telling them that not only were the Americans losing, but that their
00:08:36.020 girlfriends and wives back home in America were cheating on them. You see what I mean? Demoralize
00:08:40.900 the enemy propaganda. The German version was called Axis Sally, broadcast in Europe. That's a kind of
00:08:48.660 disinformation. Now, of course, in 2022, the Ukraine war is just off the hook. We're in the era of social
00:08:56.840 media and even deep fakes. I literally see the same photos being used by both sides of the war,
00:09:03.660 claiming the other side committed an atrocity. It's really hard to figure out what's going on,
00:09:09.180 and that's sort of the point, isn't it? And the fact that Vladimir Zelensky, the Ukrainian boss,
00:09:16.400 used to be a TV actor who played a pretend president in the movies, that makes it even blurrier what's
00:09:24.440 real and what's acting, what's PR. And the acting part, well, who would be writing the script for the
00:09:30.620 actor? The fact that actor Justin Trudeau went to get his own photo ops in tells me that there's a lot
00:09:38.820 of propaganda going on. And oh my God, the fact that the rock band U2 went to Kiev and had a concert
00:09:44.820 there for the cameras tells me that theater is a big part of what's going on. Sean Penn, the dramatic
00:09:49.460 actor, was there with his own camera crew. Is he making a movie? Is he the star of the movie or is
00:09:55.660 it Zelensky? Is it a work of fiction or nonfiction? I don't know. I don't trust a lot of people over
00:10:02.040 there, especially since a few years ago, all the media and many observers were saying that there
00:10:09.080 is a dangerous neo-Nazi group active in Ukraine called the Azov Battalion, Azov Battalion. But
00:10:17.840 now the Azov Battalion, they're the good guys and they're just sort of Nazis. They're not too Nazi-ish.
00:10:25.100 And anyway, shut up.
00:10:31.100 This video has sent a shiver across Ukraine.
00:10:36.300 The marching young men are far-right nationalists from the Nazionalny Druzhini or National Militia.
00:10:43.640 They're at a sacred spot. Ukraine's crucible. Maidan, Independence Square in central Kiev.
00:10:55.640 Yeah, so lies on both sides. That's what war is like. Welcome to war in the age of 2022. So I saw this
00:11:05.080 publication by the University of Calgary. Here's how they tweeted about it yesterday.
00:11:09.320 They said, Canadian social media is under attack. Disinformation in the Russia-Ukraine war.
00:11:17.960 New report by J.C. Boucher, Jack Edwards, Jenny Kim, Abbas Badami, and Henry Smith-Tomorrow.
00:11:27.020 Oh, wow. Wow. Wow. So they're attacking social media here in Canada. Like, how are they attacking?
00:11:33.620 Are they hacking anything? Did they knock Twitter offline for a bit? What do they mean by an attack?
00:11:43.700 Attack by whom? Is Russia doing something? Or is it Ukraine? Or maybe someone else? Frankly,
00:11:50.900 NATO itself is the most likely, I think. What do they mean by attack? I wonder if that's some hyperbole.
00:11:57.840 Well, here's what they say. Our research team has been collecting more than 6.2 million tweets globally
00:12:07.660 since January 2022 to monitor and measure Russian influence operations on social media. We find that
00:12:15.080 pro-Russian narratives promoted in the Canadian social media ecosystem on Twitter are divided into
00:12:21.160 two large communities. One, accounts influenced by the sources from the United States, and two,
00:12:27.960 those largely influenced by sources from international sources from Russia, Europe, and China.
00:12:33.380 That's quite a mix, though, isn't it? Russia, Europe, and China. Okay, so they're only looking at the
00:12:38.640 pro-Russia tweets, though. That's weird. For some reason, they don't think Ukraine is engaging in
00:12:45.580 persuasion campaigns, which is pretty strange. And it maybe gives you a hint that just maybe.
00:12:52.460 This isn't actually a real study. It's, you know, oh, maybe it's a little bit of disinformation itself.
00:13:01.660 They say that pro-Russian narratives were influenced by the U.S. or by Russia. I wonder how they know
00:13:09.240 what influences someone to say something, and how do they decide that. Well, they tell us a little
00:13:17.100 bit. I'm going to read this next paragraph in full. First, pro-Russian discourse on Canadian Twitter
00:13:25.040 blames NATO for the conflict, suggesting that Russia's invasion was a result of NATO's expansionism
00:13:32.620 or aggressive intentions towards Russia. In this context, pro-Russian propaganda argues that the
00:13:39.540 West has no moral high ground to condemn the invasion, and nations such as Canada, the U.S.,
00:13:45.600 and the U.K. are trying to force Europe into this conflict to benefit materially. Let me read a little
00:13:52.640 bit more. Second, it is suggested that Western nations are propping up fascists in Ukraine, thus
00:13:59.500 justifying Russia's actions. Thirdly, pro-Russian narrative attempts to amplify mistrust of democratic
00:14:07.680 institutions, be it the media, international institutions, or the liberal party government.
00:14:14.100 You can see liberals capitalized. Faced with the challenges associated with foreign interference,
00:14:19.100 it is important to gain a deeper understanding of the spread of disinformation in Canada. Okay.
00:14:25.300 So, obviously, expanding NATO right next to Russia's borders, Ukraine's been talking about entering NATO.
00:14:35.400 That is expansionist, but that's what that word means. And Russian diplomats have been complaining about
00:14:42.520 this to the West for more than 20 years, really, even before Vladimir Putin was president. I don't think it's
00:14:49.380 controversial to say that expanding NATO is expansionist. That's what the word means. It's the dictionary
00:14:54.280 definition of it. As to whether that's aggressive, well, the U.S. certainly thought it was aggressive
00:15:00.880 when Russia put missiles on Cuban soil in the 1960s. The entire Monroe Doctrine says no Russians allowed
00:15:07.280 to mess around in the Western Hemisphere. No foreign powers. Is it pro-Russian to note that putting NATO
00:15:14.900 right up against Russia irritates Russia? I mean, are you pro-Russian for observing that?
00:15:21.880 Is it Russian propaganda to note that the Azov battalion is, you know, Nazi and they say they are?
00:15:28.940 I mean, here's the head of a Holocaust remembrance charity saying that working with the Azov battalion
00:15:38.180 is a racist disgrace. And this is in the Ottawa Citizen just a few months before the war.
00:15:42.580 And here's the Canadian military trying to hide the fact that they met with those Nazis in the Azov battalion.
00:15:50.700 I mean, they're Nazis. I really don't think there's a good kind of Nazi.
00:15:56.040 And neither did any of the media until just a few weeks ago, really.
00:16:00.600 You'll notice all of those newspaper clippings I showed you were from late 2021.
00:16:07.720 Let me guess. Russian propaganda in a time machine or something.
00:16:11.420 But that last one, that last point, thirdly, pro-Russian narrative attempts to amplify mistrust
00:16:19.020 of democratic institutions, be it the media, international institutions, or the liberal government.
00:16:22.980 Yeah. I don't know if Russia is trying to tell Canadians not to trust the CBC or Justin Trudeau.
00:16:30.460 I really don't think the Russians or anyone has to tell Canadians not to trust the CBC or Trudeau
00:16:37.180 because we already don't trust the CBC or Trudeau.
00:16:40.880 And it's getting worse every year because they are distrustful.
00:16:43.600 But blaming Russia for the fact that Canadians don't like the CBC or Trudeau,
00:16:50.040 well, you have to be a bit of a government shill to believe that.
00:16:55.080 I do ask that because, you know, given Canada's support of Ukraine in this current crisis with Russia,
00:17:02.440 I don't know if it's far-fetched to ask,
00:17:05.020 but there is concern that Russian actors could be continuing to fuel things as this protest grows,
00:17:13.500 but perhaps even instigating it from the outset.
00:17:16.420 Yeah, that's a conspiracy theory.
00:17:19.400 What's the word?
00:17:20.520 Yeah, that's disinformation.
00:17:22.920 Okay.
00:17:23.420 So far, so boring.
00:17:25.920 But flip ahead to what they call figure one.
00:17:28.940 It's a very pretty picture, like a spirograph.
00:17:31.720 At the top, you see just a few names.
00:17:34.780 McFaul.
00:17:36.140 That's Michael McFaul, who about 10 years ago was an ambassador to Russia.
00:17:40.620 He's gone a little bit crazy these days.
00:17:43.180 I mean, you be the judge of it.
00:17:46.080 Here he is not only saying that Putin is worse than Hitler,
00:17:51.240 but added his comment that Hitler's victims weren't ethnic Germans.
00:17:56.220 Okay, I'll let the German Jews know that.
00:17:59.380 So you've got this extremist crank.
00:18:01.720 You've got Trudeau.
00:18:02.600 You've got POTUS.
00:18:03.460 That stands for President of the United States, Joe Biden.
00:18:05.540 And then an explicit propaganda called the Kiev Independent, which is a newspaper.
00:18:11.400 It's actually not independent at all.
00:18:14.240 It's a propaganda arm that received $200,000 in money from Trudeau and Christy Freeland.
00:18:19.820 But more to the point, it's one of the few media that Zelensky hasn't shut down.
00:18:23.920 I don't know if you know this, but he has censored any critics in the country,
00:18:27.900 both in the media and opposition parties.
00:18:29.440 He's arrested them.
00:18:31.060 So that's a really weird list of sort of good guys in this study.
00:18:36.020 Those are the truth tellers, according to this bizarre study.
00:18:39.320 And then look at who's on the bottom of this spirograph pretty picture.
00:18:44.060 Oh, that's weird.
00:18:44.840 Rebel News and me personally are there.
00:18:48.680 Have you ever heard me promote Vladimir Putin in my life?
00:18:54.100 Yeah, not really.
00:18:54.980 I wrote two books about how we need to develop Canadian oil and gas to displace OPEC and Russian oil and gas.
00:19:03.200 My book Groundswell had an entire chapter mocking Putin, calling him a thug, a bully, a crook.
00:19:10.860 I don't think I can ever travel to Russia and I don't think I ever will because I believe I'm genuinely at risk of being arrested or detained for writing the things I've written about Putin.
00:19:22.880 And doing, what, 50 TV programs saying we should displace Russian conflict oil with Canadian ethical oil?
00:19:30.420 Imagine calling me pro-Putin or pro-Russia.
00:19:33.880 I'm not, obviously.
00:19:35.120 I just think that this war is atrocious and no one is calling for peace and I'm really uncomfortable supporting the Nazi as a battalion.
00:19:43.060 You'll forgive me.
00:19:44.380 And those are my own personal views, which I come by honestly.
00:19:48.420 They may coincide with those views of others.
00:19:51.920 But what's the conspiracy theory here that I am receiving instructions from some foreign entity?
00:19:59.200 But look at what they call that image.
00:20:01.420 Look at the title for this figure.
00:20:02.680 Social network of Canadian Twitter, U.S.-influenced and Russia-influenced pro-Russian accounts are in magenta and red clusters respectively.
00:20:12.900 So if you're against the war, if you're considered pro-Russia or pro-America, whether you're – how does it even make sense?
00:20:25.940 If America is for the war, putting $40 billion into the war, I don't understand what they're saying if you're U.S.-influenced.
00:20:34.940 Maybe I'm missing it.
00:20:37.480 They get even dumber then.
00:20:38.700 They've got a couple of tables there.
00:20:40.160 You see that table one and table two?
00:20:42.240 They call it top U.S.-influenced accounts and then top Russian-influenced accounts.
00:20:50.220 So do you see, though, there's a list of Twitter accounts, okay?
00:20:53.620 And this is a Canadian study for the University of Calgary.
00:20:56.580 So just look at table one just for a second.
00:20:58.080 I'm trying to understand this.
00:20:59.140 Maybe you can help me.
00:21:00.540 U.S.-influenced accounts.
00:21:02.400 And the number one name on the list is Tulsi Gabbard.
00:21:05.480 Have you heard of her?
00:21:06.180 She's a leading Democrat.
00:21:07.620 She actually contested the presidential nomination last time around.
00:21:12.580 She's a Democrat from Hawaii.
00:21:14.000 She actually served in the National Guard.
00:21:17.060 What does it mean that she's a U.S.-influenced Twitter user?
00:21:20.320 She's a former congressman.
00:21:22.220 She is American.
00:21:24.320 What does it mean then?
00:21:25.500 Aren't all Americans living in America U.S.-influenced?
00:21:30.500 And what does she have to do with us up here in Canada?
00:21:34.800 Same thing with the second name, Jack Posobiec.
00:21:36.660 You might recognize him.
00:21:37.580 He's a journalist.
00:21:39.120 Third name is Majid Nawaz.
00:21:40.600 He's a Muslim man in the United Kingdom.
00:21:43.500 Why is he on this Canadian list?
00:21:45.620 Glenn Greenwald.
00:21:47.260 They call him an American.
00:21:48.680 He was born in America, but I happen to know he lives in Brazil with his Brazilian family
00:21:52.520 and has for many years.
00:21:54.240 Do they not know that?
00:21:57.340 But again, what does any of those people have to do with Canada?
00:22:01.000 You have to go far down their list until you get the first Canadian they name on the list.
00:22:06.860 It's our friend Rupa Zubramania.
00:22:09.420 She's amazing.
00:22:11.400 Now, by the way, she was born in India.
00:22:13.000 Now, I follow her pretty closely online.
00:22:14.640 I'm a big fan of hers.
00:22:16.440 I honestly can't remember her tweeting about this war at all, and I'm sure she has.
00:22:22.000 But it's not a big focus of hers.
00:22:24.660 She talks a lot about the truckers.
00:22:26.580 What even is the point that she's U.S.-influenced?
00:22:29.880 But what does that mean?
00:22:31.980 Because Joe Biden hates Putin, and Biden's pumping in weapons into Ukraine.
00:22:37.980 So what even is the message here?
00:22:40.800 There's a few more Americans on the list.
00:22:42.320 I'm on there, too, which is weird.
00:22:43.880 Are these ignorant fools at the University of Calgary saying that I, who wrote two books declaring Russian oil and gas to be an enemy to be fought,
00:22:52.440 are they saying that I'm pro-Russian because I don't like the war there and don't think we should get involved?
00:22:59.440 Or because I tweet against the Nazis and I don't trust Trudeau?
00:23:03.340 How did they choose the names on there?
00:23:07.120 What does it mean when they list a Brazilian as an American-influenced person, even though he opposes the U.S. government's position on the war?
00:23:15.260 Why is he in a Canadian study about disinformation?
00:23:18.520 Do you get the feeling that this whole racket is just hocus-pocus, junk science, made-up BS, again, just to come up with some fancy excuse for not debating things?
00:23:28.980 Do you ever think that's a possibility?
00:23:30.840 Look at Table 2.
00:23:33.340 Most of those Twitter accounts are not even online anymore, I checked.
00:23:38.040 I don't know what that means, but it's so embarrassing.
00:23:41.380 They obviously have no fact-checkers at the University of Calgary.
00:23:44.740 Their academic rigor is very low.
00:23:47.300 They called John Pilger a Canadian.
00:23:49.880 He's quite a famous Brit.
00:23:51.320 Don't they know him?
00:23:52.300 He was very much against the Iraq War.
00:23:54.460 I'm not surprised that he's against this war.
00:23:56.700 He's a famous anti-war type going back decades.
00:23:59.560 I had never heard of most of the others on there.
00:24:02.000 I mean, there's someone called Peace Pumpkin Pick.
00:24:06.240 I clicked on the link.
00:24:07.980 It's some filmmaker with about 2,000 followers.
00:24:10.660 There's someone called Bill M., someone with a blue face with about 3,000 followers.
00:24:17.880 I clicked on Hardbop34.
00:24:22.320 That's just someone with 155 followers.
00:24:26.640 Are you getting my drift?
00:24:27.720 The University of Calgary School of Public Policy is saying that one of the top Russian influences in Canada, spreading Kremlin propaganda.
00:24:36.640 And you saw the tweet, the social media is under attack.
00:24:40.140 It's a Twitter account named Hardbop34 with 155 followers.
00:24:45.980 Now, I scrolled through his account.
00:24:47.220 I never heard of him before.
00:24:48.760 He tweets a few things about the war.
00:24:51.160 Interesting little factoids, actually, for his 155 followers.
00:24:55.340 Maybe I'll be his 156th.
00:24:57.100 How on earth is he on this list?
00:25:00.680 How can this list be taken seriously if he's on the top 10 list of Russian infiltrators?
00:25:08.580 And again, the only proof that he's a Russian is that he doesn't trust Trudeau and he doesn't like the Nazi Azov battalion.
00:25:17.500 And he thinks maybe NATO surrounding Russia just might be irritating the problem.
00:25:21.220 Sounds like we've got some professors at the University of Calgary desperately in search of a problem to solve, or more likely desperately in search of grants from Trudeau to demonize his enemies.
00:25:33.180 But back to my main point here.
00:25:35.280 How do they put people into the friends and enemies category here, these professors?
00:25:40.820 Well, they told us, if you don't trust Trudeau or the CBC, you're part of the Russian plot.
00:25:46.980 Now, if you think this war is not a good idea, maybe, you know, we shouldn't escalate it, you're a Russian shill.
00:25:55.660 Seriously, let me read.
00:25:58.700 The predominant narrative justified Russia's invasion as a response to NATO expansionism.
00:26:04.140 It tended to characterize the Russian invasion as a reasonable or expected consequence of the military alliance's continued admittance of former Eastern Bloc states, placing the borders of the alliance closer and closer to Russia.
00:26:17.700 Well, if you're saying that this invasion was a predictable consequence, and if you think maybe that NATO is irritating Russia, I mean, that was its whole purpose, to fight against Russia.
00:26:32.780 I've got some terrifying news for you if you think that makes, making those observations makes you an enemy.
00:26:38.000 Henry Kissinger, the American foreign policy guru for the last 50 years, who advised John F. Kennedy, who advised Richard M. Nixon.
00:26:50.280 Just the other day, he spoke at Davos, actually, when our reporters were there.
00:26:54.460 We didn't see him.
00:26:55.600 Here's a headline.
00:26:56.960 Kissinger says Ukraine should cede territory to Russia to end war.
00:27:04.400 Yikes.
00:27:04.880 They got you, too.
00:27:07.340 Hey, Kissinger, you're a Russian agent now.
00:27:10.500 Here's a former British foreign secretary saying sort of the same thing in the Financial Times leading newspaper in the UK.
00:27:18.600 Notable Russian propaganda outfit.
00:27:20.940 It's called Letter.
00:27:21.840 Remember Kissinger's advice to the Ukrainians.
00:27:25.520 Lord Owen and others, our most read letter of the last week.
00:27:29.280 Uh-oh.
00:27:29.960 A lot of Putin supporters over here.
00:27:32.340 Let me just read a little bit of it.
00:27:35.540 NATO governments have rightly said they are willing to address Russia's security concerns, but then say in the same breath that Russia has no legitimate security concerns because NATO is a purely defensive alliance.
00:27:49.720 Whether we like it or not, a NATO that now borders Russia and could in future border even more of Russia is seen by Russia as a security concern.
00:27:59.440 In 2014, Henry Kissinger wrote in the Washington Post that, quote,
00:28:02.580 So, internationally, Ukraine should pursue a posture comparable to that of Finland.
00:28:08.080 That nation leaves no doubt about its fierce independence, cooperates with the West in most fields, but carefully avoids institutional hostility to Russia.
00:28:19.300 Signed by Lord Owen, UK foreign secretary in the late 70s.
00:28:22.720 So, let me translate.
00:28:23.680 If you disagree with this war, if you disagree with Trudeau about Ukraine, you will be put in the category of a disloyal foreign influence shill.
00:28:33.600 Now, if you think Trudeau himself is untruthworthy, if you think this war is not a good idea, if you think the Azo Battalion are a bunch of Nazis, you are the enemy now.
00:28:42.960 Just like Kissinger and Lord Owen are apparently.
00:28:47.260 Like I say, it's easier than debating people, isn't it?
00:28:50.480 This whole disinformation business, it's sort of fun.
00:28:53.220 It's pseudoscience.
00:28:54.720 These so-called professors are really sloppy.
00:28:56.700 I mean, they get basic facts wrong.
00:28:58.320 John Pilger is a famous Brit.
00:29:00.480 Even I know that.
00:29:01.300 Glenn Greenwald lives in Brazil.
00:29:03.400 He does, like, Portuguese language tweets all the time.
00:29:07.140 They just know they're very low information people for professors.
00:29:11.000 I'm sort of embarrassed for the University of Calgary.
00:29:12.800 They didn't fact check this.
00:29:14.280 They make no sense on their own terms.
00:29:17.420 What does it mean to call Tulsi Gabbard a U.S., you know, former congressman, a U.S. influenced person?
00:29:24.200 She is American.
00:29:25.440 And why is she even on this list at all?
00:29:27.960 I thought they said social media in Canada was under attack.
00:29:31.540 Is Tulsi Gabbard invading?
00:29:33.120 How did they choose the weird list of names to study?
00:29:35.760 Seriously.
00:29:36.480 Michael McFaul, that crank?
00:29:39.240 How?
00:29:39.740 Well, the Kiev independent, which isn't independent.
00:29:43.220 How did I get on this list?
00:29:48.660 You know, this is sort of interesting.
00:29:51.560 Oh, look at that.
00:29:54.460 One of the authors, Jean-Christophe Boucher, he's a raging Trudeau liberal on Trudeau's payroll.
00:30:02.060 Oh, and look at that.
00:30:03.260 He's on Big Pharma's payroll, too.
00:30:04.920 He gets paid by Merck.
00:30:07.180 Here's his official biography on this disinformation study.
00:30:11.340 He's done this same make-believe junk science hocus-pocus before, by the way, in service of his vaccine paymasters.
00:30:18.540 Here he is on Twitter.
00:30:20.740 Since the beginning of the COVID pandemic, conservatives have been weak and often worked at cross-purposed and amplified or darn right stoked.
00:30:32.280 Anti-vaccine narrative essentially making us less safe.
00:30:35.280 How do I know this?
00:30:37.100 Yeah.
00:30:38.540 He's got another pretty picture.
00:30:39.580 So he's a bit of a partisan for hire.
00:30:42.440 If you pay him enough money, he'll make a rainbow diagram with the names of people he hates on it.
00:30:48.740 I'm in that one, too.
00:30:51.560 There's no science to this disinformation business.
00:30:54.180 It's just McCarthyism with an inkjet printer.
00:30:57.500 There's no methodology.
00:30:58.680 There's no academic rigor.
00:31:00.800 You can't simply say that anyone who disagrees with you is a foreign agent.
00:31:06.680 That's bigotry.
00:31:07.900 You can't say that anyone who thinks a war is stupid is influenced by a foreign actor.
00:31:13.240 It's particularly stupid when you name people like me who've written books about how to defeat Putin in the energy wars.
00:31:20.160 So much so that I regret I will actually never be able to visit that country.
00:31:24.720 This fake professor is trying to dress up his own partisan bigotry as some sort of science.
00:31:30.780 But scratch the surface and you will find he's nothing more than a paid Trudeau shill.
00:31:37.520 I mean, look at this.
00:31:38.640 The rebel has poisoned the conservative well in Canada for a long time now.
00:31:43.860 Maybe it's time for conservatives to stop drinking out of it.
00:31:47.220 Oh, really science-y there, boss.
00:31:49.820 Really neutral.
00:31:51.380 I wonder how he treats students in class who are conservative.
00:31:54.700 I wonder if he ducks the marks for ideological reasons.
00:31:57.620 I wonder how I wound up on his list.
00:32:00.080 Aren't you curious?
00:32:02.420 And what does he want to do with the people he hates, the people he disagrees with?
00:32:08.820 He doesn't want to debate us.
00:32:11.320 He wants to shut us down.
00:32:13.720 What a disgrace.
00:32:15.720 A University of Calgary professor hates free speech and hates debate so much that he literally wants to silence and shut us down.
00:32:26.700 And that is not a professor.
00:32:28.380 That is a Trudeau mole at the University of Calgary.
00:32:32.760 But read it in his own words.
00:32:34.260 When will we shut down the rebel for spreading false information?
00:32:38.900 This should be a lawsuit for undermining public safety.
00:32:44.440 Bring it.
00:32:46.200 Bring it, you ignorant coward.
00:32:48.180 Yeah, like I say, 25 years ago, people who disagree with each other would debate each other.
00:32:53.760 I'll debate the Signor Amos any day.
00:32:56.660 But you can see he doesn't believe in debate.
00:32:58.640 In 2022, leftists like him get government grants from Justin Trudeau and Big Pharma
00:33:04.940 to come up with a pseudoscientific case to censor their political rivals, to deplatform them.
00:33:11.460 He wants us shut down.
00:33:13.300 He wants us soothe me, an old hard bop 34, and his 155 followers, and probably you too.
00:33:28.080 Stay with us for more.
00:33:29.300 We are providing necessities of life to those that you and your bosses refuse to provide.
00:33:48.320 You've got all kinds of events happening right now, and yet the Calgary's finest are not bothering them.
00:33:57.860 This is the hypocrisy of this city.
00:34:01.400 This is the hypocrisy of our wonderful, fearless leaders.
00:34:05.780 Where is the head name sheet?
00:34:07.820 The mayor of this city.
00:34:09.280 Can you guys do a respectful social conversation?
00:34:11.420 Stand back from me a little bit.
00:34:13.580 Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
00:34:14.740 When you need feet, stand back, okay?
00:34:16.940 Or what?
00:34:17.300 You're going to threaten me and a few feet.
00:34:19.920 Hey, guys.
00:34:21.220 Do not do that.
00:34:22.220 Tell him not to touch you.
00:34:23.560 Six feet away for everybody.
00:34:25.800 That's for everybody.
00:34:26.880 I saw that video just over two years ago.
00:34:32.360 You may recognize the voice with the Polish accent, the man in the winter camouflage.
00:34:37.700 That's Pastor Arthur Pawlowski.
00:34:40.420 I had known him a little bit back then, certainly not as well as I've come to know him in the past two years.
00:34:45.560 As you could see there, it was bitter cold in Calgary, Alberta, and he was doing what he does every weekend, what he has done for decades.
00:34:57.580 He feeds the homeless, the homeless, the homeless that are so lowly.
00:35:03.000 They're often not even allowed in homeless shelters because maybe they're on drugs or they're drunk or they have some personality disorder that makes them violent or something.
00:35:12.240 They're the lowest of the low.
00:35:14.260 He gives them food.
00:35:15.500 He gives them, and sometimes it's quite good food, steaks.
00:35:19.040 And he feeds them, he does the job that the city won't.
00:35:22.380 And did you see the cops saying it was in the illegal gathering as if it was some rave party, as if it was a fun social gathering rather than him feeding the hungry?
00:35:34.940 And then did you see the cop pushing around one of Arthur Pawlowski's colleagues saying, six feet away, six feet away, do you see that?
00:35:44.860 That video that I saw just over two years ago made me so mad, and I'm feeling that anger again today, watching it again, that I phoned Arthur Pawlowski.
00:35:57.980 And I said, not only will we do a story on this, but let us crowdfund a lawyer for you, and thus our Fight the Fines project was born.
00:36:10.060 We have, in fact, come to the aid of 2,000 people who were bullied by police.
00:36:15.980 So that's more than two years ago.
00:36:17.940 But two days ago, the prosecution of Arthur Pawlowski for feeding the homeless in the bitter cold of a Christmas dinner in December of 2020, that trial began in Calgary incredibly.
00:36:35.180 They're proceeding against them, and in court alone were our Rebel News reporters, including Selene Gallas, who joins us now from Calgary.
00:36:47.100 Selene, great to see you again.
00:36:48.380 Thank you very much for joining us today.
00:36:50.620 Is it true that you and our friend Sheila Gunn-Reed were the only journalists in the courtroom for the prosecution of Arthur Pawlowski?
00:36:58.180 That's right, we were.
00:37:00.120 Yeah, we were kind of hoping that someone else might turn up from mainstream media, but lo and behold, it was just a lot of people.
00:37:06.780 It was great.
00:37:07.360 We got to cover the story and everything else.
00:37:10.780 It is great that you were there because you told the story, and I followed you.
00:37:14.280 You were live-tweeting it on Twitter.
00:37:17.100 I enjoyed that, and I retweeted a lot of them.
00:37:19.640 But it's also terrifying.
00:37:21.680 Arthur Pawlowski is a very significant public figure in Alberta because of his endless torments by the government, the prosecutions.
00:37:31.740 He was jailed for more than 50 days.
00:37:33.300 The fact that not a single journalist other than Rebel News was in the court tells me just how broken the media is and how much in collusion they are with the government.
00:37:44.980 I mean, seriously.
00:37:46.360 Tell us a little bit.
00:37:48.080 What is going on in court?
00:37:50.680 Is it what I said it was, a prosecution for breaking the anti-gathering lockdown rule?
00:37:57.280 Did I get that right?
00:37:59.120 For Christmas 2020, he was feeding the homeless and they charged him with an illegal gathering.
00:38:03.980 Is that the charge?
00:38:04.960 Yeah, it's a little bit more particular than that.
00:38:09.000 They're trying to get him on the account of it being some sort of Christians-only private event.
00:38:15.340 That's what they're trying to get him for.
00:38:17.020 You know, public gatherings were not a lot of either, but it's very specific.
00:38:24.040 The narrative that they're pushing is that it's Christians-only.
00:38:27.240 And a lot of the questions that Sarah Miller, Arthur Pawlowski's lawyer, was asking the witnesses that are testifying against Arthur is if they saw him turning down anyone from the food lines or any people in general from this public event.
00:38:43.900 And all of them, all eight, there's a couple more actually, dates to be established in the future for that one.
00:38:51.700 But they all agreed that no one was turned away and that they have no evidence that they could provide as to who was invited, invited, if this was indeed a private event.
00:39:03.060 I followed that line of questioning on your Twitter feed and on Sheila's the day before.
00:39:07.760 And I think I understand it because Arthur lets anyone come.
00:39:11.440 I've seen it.
00:39:12.420 I've seen it.
00:39:12.920 Literally, if you were there, he will feed you.
00:39:15.640 He doesn't ask for your ID.
00:39:18.060 He doesn't give you a quiz.
00:39:19.500 You don't have to fill out an Arrive Cam app on your phone.
00:39:24.460 He'll take you.
00:39:25.760 Frankly, whatever religion you are, he doesn't ask.
00:39:28.760 He's a Christian himself.
00:39:29.920 That's why he's doing this.
00:39:31.640 But the government is trying to make it seem like, no, this was a special party.
00:39:36.900 Only his friends were invited.
00:39:38.620 Other people were turned away.
00:39:39.840 They're trying to make it seem like it was some special gathering because they're worried that it'll be thrown out otherwise.
00:39:46.640 It's so desperate.
00:39:48.320 I can't believe that the police and the prosecutors are going along with it.
00:39:52.300 Like, it feels desperate.
00:39:53.440 I'm only going by your tweets, though.
00:39:55.680 What is the judge look like?
00:39:57.660 Who is the judge?
00:39:58.640 Is it a young judge, an older judge, a male or female judge?
00:40:01.860 You know the name of the judge.
00:40:02.880 And what is the judge, if you can, sometimes judges are completely inscrutable.
00:40:08.500 They're like a statue, stone-faced.
00:40:11.000 Is there any indication that this judge has some feeling about the case, or is it just too hard to tell?
00:40:18.840 Actually, that is the one thing, you know, court is a very interesting process.
00:40:25.480 As it stands, you know, being a witness from the inside is certainly different than I thought it would be just from hearing about it or seeing it in movies.
00:40:32.820 This judge in particular is actually, he's pretty great from what I can tell.
00:40:37.840 I think he has a little bit of a soft spot for Arthur, if I might be so bold as to exclaim, but there's a few times that the prosecutor, he actually forgot to mention her name.
00:40:53.400 He's a middle-aged man, you know, nothing too particular about him except there's lots of sighs, you know, lots of heavy-handed leanings and breathing into the microphone and pauses.
00:41:06.700 And I think everyone is just super fed up with this process.
00:41:11.380 It's ridiculous, Ezra.
00:41:12.660 Yeah, I mean, I think you said eight witnesses.
00:41:16.380 Like, the whole thing was on videotape.
00:41:17.880 Arthur videos his own event, so it's not like you needed a super-duper spy camera to catch him.
00:41:23.060 He advertises events.
00:41:24.360 He's not shy about these events.
00:41:26.100 And I'm using the word event.
00:41:27.740 That implies that it's, woo, let's go down and be homeless together because we might get a free burger out of it.
00:41:32.980 They're not events in that sense.
00:41:35.020 The people are there on the street all the time, but the best part of their week is when this Polish pastor comes and gives them food and a pep talk.
00:41:44.780 The fact that they're bringing in government witness after government witness, it sounds like they're spending a staggering amount of resources, both of police and prosecutors, on this case.
00:41:57.140 Going by rough numbers, how many cops are on the Arthur Pawlowski lunch beat?
00:42:05.420 And is it just the one prosecuting lawyer or is there more?
00:42:08.900 So I've just seen one lawyer so far, but there are, I mean, there's several police officers and then the rest of them that I've seen, just with my two days in court, have been a police officer.
00:42:22.180 And all of them seem to be part of the same public safety unit.
00:42:26.460 That was all generally established around the same time that the COVID lockdown began and these protests started happening.
00:42:34.800 Yeah, it sounds like they have this entire squad just to take on Arthur.
00:42:40.080 And I truly believe that Jason Kenney's vendetta against Arthur Pawlowski, which is so weird because when I knew Jason Kenney, he was a very serious Christian who believed in Christian rights.
00:42:52.920 Kenny picked up Nahid Nenshi's vendetta against Arthur Pawlowski and had this whole hunter killer team of prosecutors and health police.
00:43:02.800 And it sounds like that's still going on.
00:43:05.160 The fact that a prosecutor doesn't look at this and say there's no likelihood of conviction, there's no public interest here.
00:43:12.680 This was two years ago when we didn't know how to do things in the pandemic.
00:43:18.120 He was feeding the homeless. There's no public interest here.
00:43:20.300 The fact that they are proceeding in June of 2022 with the prosecution of it shows that there is some institutional bigotry here that you would think we'd be done with, but it's not.
00:43:33.080 Now, our friend Sidney Fazzard interviewed Arthur about this, and I think we have that clip.
00:43:40.100 Let's just take a listen to that for Arthur's point of view.
00:43:42.680 Let's go back to the merits of the case because, I mean, a lawyer's talk, some people do not even understand what you are talking about.
00:43:50.140 What did I do?
00:43:51.580 What is this whole trial all about?
00:43:53.900 Well, I fed the poor.
00:43:55.000 And I fed the poor in the middle of the greatest crisis that this land has ever seen.
00:44:00.040 I am not sorry that I feed the poor.
00:44:03.060 I will not apologize that I'm feeding the poor.
00:44:05.720 I'm actually believed that this is the greatest privilege for a man like me to be able to assist the less fortunate and to save lives.
00:44:15.560 And for that, I will never apologize.
00:44:17.760 That's Arthur Pawlowski being interviewed by our friend Sid.
00:44:21.720 The lawyer on Arthur's side, Sarah Miller, I've gotten to know her pretty well over the last two years.
00:44:26.400 She has been in court at least a dozen times for Arthur, and I have to say she's one of the smartest lawyers I've encountered, and we have far too many lawyers we work with here at Rebel News.
00:44:39.320 But I have to say she really is the cream of the crop.
00:44:42.820 How is she doing in court?
00:44:44.460 Is she on her own, or does she have a junior counsel with her?
00:44:48.080 And does she—I know you're not a lawyer yourself, but just from a layman's point of view, how is she coming across?
00:44:54.460 Fantastic. It's just her. It is just her. I haven't seen anybody else with her.
00:45:00.360 I'm pretty sure that she has just been taking this entire news on solo.
00:45:04.160 Listen, I appreciate you being in court and live-tweeting it, the fact that you were there by yourself.
00:45:09.800 And in Calgary, which is a fair-sized city, more than a million people, there are probably a dozen newspaper reporters between the Herald and the Sun that could cover this beat, the National Post, the Globe and Mail.
00:45:22.020 They also have people in the city. Obviously, the CBC state broadcaster has well over 100 staff in the city.
00:45:29.340 There's CTV and Global News as well.
00:45:31.960 The fact that of all of these news agencies, not a single one was in court is a disgrace to them,
00:45:39.020 and it proves my point that the media party is in league with the government.
00:45:43.340 And I'm glad you're there, Celine, and we'll look forward to your update when this trial resumes.
00:45:49.580 Yeah, absolutely. Thank you for having me.
00:45:51.520 Right on. Our pleasure. That's Celine Glass from our Calgary office.
00:45:54.600 Stay with us. More ahead.
00:45:56.140 Hey, welcome back. Your letters, MZ Twixt says, this is one of your best reports yet.
00:46:14.460 Thank you, Ezra. People need to spread this fast, far and wide.
00:46:17.940 You're talking about Yuval Noah Harari.
00:46:20.260 You know what? I've got to watch extended videos of him.
00:46:24.520 I'm sorry that the clips I used were sort of pre-produced, and I'm not saying I necessarily disagree with those commentaries,
00:46:31.100 but I wish that they were cleaner clips.
00:46:33.500 I've started to read through his books. I've started to watch his videos.
00:46:37.220 I want to say that he's obviously very clever. I mean, duh.
00:46:41.180 And some of his observations, you can't deny them.
00:46:44.200 Like his explanation for why he doesn't use a smartphone, I thought was actually pretty telling.
00:46:50.120 Some of the times it sounds like he's just making a prediction of what's going to come.
00:46:53.120 But other times he sort of lusts for it, and don't think he doesn't have views of his own.
00:46:58.120 He doesn't believe in any god other than himself.
00:47:00.760 That's the name of his book, Homo Deus.
00:47:03.680 He thinks he's a god.
00:47:06.680 David Chase says,
00:47:07.620 Your new age of digital surveillance violates my old age privacy in civil rights.
00:47:13.160 Yeah, but when was the last time our charter of rights protected anything valuable to you?
00:47:20.760 It must be before the pandemic.
00:47:24.560 Steroid Olympics 2012 says,
00:47:27.260 These men were picked on as children.
00:47:30.480 Narcissists, sociopaths, psychopaths,
00:47:33.100 classic products of emotional neglect, and abuses of all rise.
00:47:36.460 Look, I have no idea.
00:47:38.080 I mean, I've read a little bit about his biography, and it sounds like he had a happy enough upbringing.
00:47:46.020 I don't know what it is.
00:47:47.980 I think they get a god complex.
00:47:50.040 I mean, I've told you before how Bill Gates, for example, had this insane plan of putting billions of tons of dust in the air to literally block out the sun.
00:47:59.840 That was his climate change plan.
00:48:01.660 Like, that's a madman.
00:48:03.440 That is like a Bond villain's insane plan.
00:48:07.160 He wants to reduce the population of the world by some massive percentage.
00:48:11.280 He says that.
00:48:13.020 And yet he's also Mr. Vaccine.
00:48:15.000 That just doesn't square.
00:48:17.480 There's something deeply wrong with some of these people.
00:48:19.400 I agree with you.
00:48:19.960 I don't know if it's because they were bullying his children.
00:48:23.500 I think Bill Gates is one of the worst.
00:48:25.680 He sort of cultivates that,
00:48:27.000 Oh, shucks, it's just me image.
00:48:29.720 But I think he's diabolical.
00:48:32.660 Anyways, what do you think of this disinformation study at the University of Calgary?
00:48:39.800 I'm embarrassed for my alma mater.
00:48:41.620 How about you?
00:48:43.260 That's our show for today.
00:48:44.840 Until tomorrow, on behalf of all of us here at Rebel World Headquarters, good night.
00:48:48.520 Keep fighting for freedom.
00:48:49.560 And let me leave you with our video of the day.
00:48:52.380 Our dear friend David Menzies tracked down Patrick Brown, the mayor of Brampton and Conservative Party leadership candidate, and found him in a secret office.
00:49:05.200 David confronted him and Patrick Brown ran away and got in his getaway car and sped away.
00:49:12.360 And the chase ensued.
00:49:14.840 I'll let you watch it for yourself.
00:49:16.720 You don't want to miss this video.
00:49:18.240 I'll see you tomorrow, everybody.
00:49:19.140 Bye-bye.
00:49:19.360 Bye-bye.
00:49:19.400 This man cannot stop lying.
00:49:40.000 You were detained, okay, in regards to criminal harassment.
00:49:42.680 David Menzies for Rebel News here in Vaughn, Ontario.
00:49:52.540 Now, folks, we are trying to track down the secret campaign headquarters of sneaky Patrick Brown, the mayor of Brampton.
00:50:02.180 And you know what?
00:50:03.340 We found it.
00:50:04.040 In this nondescript office building, unit number 20 on City View Boulevard, there is Patrick Brown's campaign office in full flight.
00:50:14.420 And I guess there's really nothing wrong with that, although it's kind of funny that he's based in Brampton, but he's running his boiler room out of Vaughn.
00:50:22.700 But here's the thing, folks, there are several senior City of Brampton officials that are working on this campaign, and we know this for sure.
00:50:34.500 Just in front of me, about 55 meters ahead of me, is the white Audi SUV that belongs to Babu Nagulingham.
00:50:45.880 He is the chief of staff for the mayor.
00:50:48.160 I have been coming here for the last several weeks, and I've been documenting the fact that that SUV that is owned by Babu is parked here.
00:50:57.520 Also, another interesting character, Margaret Beveridge.
00:51:02.240 She's the senior director of operations, the mayor's office.
00:51:06.400 She is also showing up here in her white Fiat.
00:51:09.480 There are several other city employees.
00:51:11.220 They've been on planes crisscrossing Canada with Mayor Patrick Brown as he tries to succeed in being the new leader of the Conservative Party of Canada.
00:51:23.520 We were told these staffers were working on the Brown campaign while still fully employed by the city of Brampton.
00:51:31.600 And if this is the case, that's offside.
00:51:36.560 Indeed, according to Section 4 and Section 5 of the Brampton Council Code of Conduct,
00:51:42.680 And here's another nugget.
00:52:09.740 No member shall use the facilities, equipment, supplies, services, or other resources of the city for any election campaign or campaign-related activities.
00:52:22.560 No member shall use the services of persons for campaign-related activities during hours in which those persons receive any compensation from the city.
00:52:35.020 Now, can you believe it, folks?
00:52:39.020 It just so happens when we came here today, guess who showed up himself?
00:52:43.800 Yeah, the big enchilada, Patrick Brown.
00:52:46.820 As soon as he saw us, oh, well, the sneaky one, he jumped into his chauffeur-driven black Ford Explorer SUV,
00:52:54.980 and he literally hit the road.
00:52:57.820 Check out the footage.
00:52:58.700 Go, go, go.
00:53:02.180 Nice.
00:53:04.360 Nice.
00:53:11.360 You ready?
00:53:12.140 We unlocked.
00:53:13.100 Yeah.
00:53:14.240 Here's the mic.
00:53:16.740 I'm rolling.
00:53:18.540 Why are you...
00:53:19.480 You know what?
00:53:20.300 Well, there's no other way out.
00:53:21.520 I'll go back this way.
00:53:22.480 You saw him, eh?
00:53:32.740 You saw us.
00:53:34.140 Go, go, hit him.
00:53:35.100 Shit.
00:53:35.420 What the hell?
00:53:37.340 Just do a screech.
00:53:38.260 You hit a low rate, girl.
00:53:40.180 Oh, he's a yellow.
00:53:48.220 He's like a cornered weasel.
00:53:50.500 He doesn't know what to do.
00:53:51.360 This is our second foray down the southbound lanes of the Highway 400.
00:53:58.960 He exited at Rutherford and went back up north, got off at Teston, went to his secret party headquarters,
00:54:07.060 was drove by it, and now he's going south on the 400 again.
00:54:12.960 I'm pretty sure he knows we're following him right now.
00:54:16.980 There's no way to sugarcoat Patrick Brown's character.
00:54:22.200 He is a compulsive liar.
00:54:24.640 Indeed, back when he was the leader of the Ontario PC party, he threw social conservatives under the bus
00:54:32.060 when he campaigned against the Liberals' sex ed curriculum, only to later flip-flop and support that very same sex ed curriculum.
00:54:41.700 And I have no intention of scrapping the sex education curriculum.
00:54:46.160 He then shockingly threw fiscal conservatives under the bus by deciding it would somehow be a good idea for Ontario,
00:54:53.920 a manufacturing province, to have its very own carbon tax.
00:54:57.800 And when there were no more conservatives to throw under the bus, well, guess what?
00:55:11.800 The PC party threw Patrick Brown under the bus back in January 2018.
00:55:17.940 Such was the contempt and distaste for this backstabber that he was forced to walk the plank less than six months before the provincial election.
00:55:29.200 It's not my values. It's not how I raised. It's not who I am.
00:55:32.560 It's not who I am.
00:55:33.840 It's not who I am.
00:55:35.280 Brown would later become mayor of Brampton, even though he has no connections to the city whatsoever.
00:55:42.320 Zero point zero.
00:55:46.520 Yet Patrick Brown is all about acquiring power for the sake of acquiring power.
00:55:53.140 And he certainly does not lead by example.
00:55:56.920 Brampton was perhaps the most locked down city in all of Canada during the COVID-19 mandates.
00:56:04.440 Brown even hired security guards to rat out people to Brampton by law enforcement for the egregious crime of, oh, making use of fenced off baseball diamonds or soccer fields.
00:56:17.700 And all the while, this hypocrite was secretly playing hockey with his Barry buddies at a Brampton rink.
00:56:25.920 Well, folks, we're getting the bums rush, but holy mackerel, I think I see Patrick Brown himself.
00:56:34.000 Oh, hey, how you doing?
00:56:36.420 Mr. Brown, right?
00:56:37.800 Yeah.
00:56:38.700 David Manzi with Rebel News.
00:56:40.840 We're in a city facility?
00:56:42.220 What's that?
00:56:42.680 You're in a city facility?
00:56:43.720 Yeah, so are you.
00:56:44.880 Yeah.
00:56:45.660 So are you playing hockey here?
00:56:47.960 No, I'm just coming to check in on our facility.
00:56:50.280 So I'm going to check.
00:56:51.940 You're not supposed to be here, actually.
00:56:53.480 We were told that you play pick-up here.
00:56:58.240 Mr. Brown, how come the kids in Brampton can only practice sports, but your buddies can play hockey?
00:57:05.280 Yeah.
00:57:05.740 So I don't know why you are harassing people in the city of Brampton, but you shouldn't be.
00:57:13.080 Oh, who's harassing who?
00:57:14.660 Mr. Brown, your guys handed out 122 bylaw violations in one week.
00:57:22.160 Mr. Brown, why is there a hockey game going on in this arena?
00:57:29.380 I thought you're only allowed to practice sports, not play them.
00:57:33.300 Mr. Brown, and who is paying the $1,000 a day, Mr. Brown, for this rink?
00:57:41.920 Mr. Brown, are these taxpayer dollars being used for your buddies to play hockey on this rink?
00:57:50.980 Or are you paying it?
00:57:53.280 Or perhaps Waleed Solomon?
00:57:54.760 So, Mr. Brown, why is there one law for me and one law for thee in this city?
00:58:02.940 Clearly, one law for thee, one law for me.
00:58:07.400 Naturally, he now claims he was the, quote, anti-lockdown mayor, end quote, during the pandemic,
00:58:14.100 even though the evidence clearly shows otherwise.
00:58:17.360 Under the freedoms of families and businesses and the mental health of Canadians,
00:58:21.800 I was one of the only big city mayors to speak out and demand an end to restrictions.
00:58:25.360 He is, was, and always has been a compulsive liar.
00:58:28.820 Lincoln Jay, for Rebel News, we've seen you shut down Brampton Public...
00:58:32.740 And when my colleague Lincoln Jay got to ask him a question at the last conservative leadership debate
00:58:39.100 and that aforementioned hockey scandal, what did Patrick Brown do?
00:58:44.140 With your friends, and you lied about that too.
00:58:47.360 What do you say to voters that don't believe you because of your past actions?
00:58:52.500 Well, I certainly don't agree with Rebel Media and was very clear that I was one of the few big city mayors
00:58:59.380 that pushed back against the closures of recreation.
00:59:02.880 And I'm sure you know that complaint from Rebel was found to be factually incorrect.
00:59:08.540 And I'm proud of my record during COVID-19 to have been one of the few big city mayors in the country
00:59:14.540 who didn't have vaccine mandates and pushed to make sure that recreation was open, to stay active, to stay fit.
00:59:22.020 And now comes his latest scandal.
00:59:27.160 Brown is using City of Brampton employees to sell CPC memberships.
00:59:32.500 Some of those senior employees actually flew across Canada with Brown,
00:59:37.020 traveling as far away as Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver,
00:59:40.500 when they should have been working for the citizens of Brampton, Ontario.
00:59:48.280 Patrick Brown drove straight to the Brampton police headquarters.
00:59:55.120 Okay, go. Get out.
00:59:56.340 Okay, then.
00:59:57.760 Get out right now.
00:59:58.780 Go, go. Please, please.
00:59:59.420 Please, please.
00:59:59.440 Mr. Brown.
01:00:03.720 Mr. Brown.
01:00:04.340 Mr. Brown, why are senior City of Brampton staff working out of your secret campaign headquarters in Vaughan?
01:00:15.460 Mr. Brown, is that on the taxpayer dollar?
01:00:18.620 Have they taken a leave of absence?
01:00:21.400 Mr. Brown, why are City of Brampton employees working at your campaign headquarters in Vaughan?
01:00:30.340 Is this on the taxpayer dollar?
01:00:33.160 Mr. Brown.
01:00:34.340 Mr. Brown.
01:00:35.420 Is this for...
01:00:36.880 Oh, okay, then.
01:00:38.160 All right, then.
01:00:39.540 Okay.
01:00:40.920 I just jumped out of your car so fast.
01:00:42.380 I'm trying to conduct a traffic stop on you.
01:00:44.220 Oh, really?
01:00:44.880 Yeah.
01:00:45.200 Oh, why is that, sir?
01:00:45.900 Let's go back outside.
01:00:46.720 Okay, sure.
01:00:53.480 Why would you want to conduct a traffic stop on this?
01:00:55.900 He came in, going a little faster in our parking lot, so we want to see what's going on.
01:00:58.720 Oh, is that right?
01:00:59.360 I'm just following Patrick Brown's vehicle, officer.
01:01:03.520 Okay.
01:01:04.520 He has a secret campaign headquarters.
01:01:07.140 Yeah, that's fine.
01:01:07.700 Regardless of that point, we know who he is, and we're going to find out who you are.
01:01:11.080 Oh, my name is David Menzies.
01:01:12.640 I'm a reporter.
01:01:13.780 Okay, you've got your driver's license for it.
01:01:14.980 Absolutely.
01:01:15.480 Do you know that mean or not you are?
01:01:22.980 Sorry?
01:01:24.700 Sorry, sir?
01:01:26.100 Hey.
01:01:27.600 What's your problem?
01:01:28.960 He's my cameraman, officer.
01:01:30.520 Awesome.
01:01:31.320 Hang out over here.
01:01:32.260 Sorry, my name is Lincoln Jay.
01:01:33.440 Perfect.
01:01:34.080 What's your name?
01:01:34.400 My name is Sergeant Crawford.
01:01:35.440 Nice to meet you.
01:01:35.820 I have no idea what he said on his phone call to Brampton Police.
01:01:41.080 He is sneaky Patrick Brown, so it could be anything.
01:01:43.440 Maybe he thought we were carjackers.
01:01:47.480 That seems to be very much in vogue these days.
01:01:51.240 And it's kind of funny.
01:01:52.000 Look at all the police officers, Lincoln.
01:01:54.020 It's now three police cruisers.
01:01:57.320 You know, active police cruisers.
01:01:58.980 There's far more parked behind us because we are in police headquarters.
01:02:01.780 Hey, how are you?
01:02:02.160 Very good, officer.
01:02:03.140 Okay, there's your ID back.
01:02:04.720 Thank you.
01:02:05.080 So our traffic stop is done.
01:02:06.620 You were detained, okay, in regards to criminal harassment.
01:02:09.560 Oh, really?
01:02:10.180 Yeah, detained.
01:02:11.080 We're not doing anything right now.
01:02:12.400 Our CIB is going to follow up with you later on.
01:02:15.320 And I'm sorry?
01:02:16.100 Hold on.
01:02:16.680 We're putting a report on in regards to kind of what happened today.
01:02:19.540 Okay.
01:02:20.100 Our Criminal Investigative Bureau, they'll make contact with you later on,
01:02:23.240 and they'll do a follow-up and continue the investigation.
01:02:25.800 And I'm sorry, sir, I don't understand.
01:02:27.940 What was the criminal harassment?
01:02:29.820 Criminal harassing Patrick Brown in regards to your mannerism,
01:02:32.160 and what you were doing following them.
01:02:33.760 Oh, we were practicing journalism, sir.
01:02:35.900 Okay.
01:02:36.660 Okay.
01:02:36.940 That'll come out in the investigation.
01:02:38.620 Okay.
01:02:38.900 Our Criminal Investigative Bureau will follow up with you later on.
01:02:41.540 Okay.
01:02:41.900 And then they'll conduct and conclude their investigation
01:02:44.660 with whatever results that they have.
01:02:46.360 On Friday night past 10 p.m., both Lincoln J. and I were called by a Peel Regional Police detective.
01:02:55.840 We were told the Peel cops were looking into charging us with criminal harassment.
01:03:03.720 I have some terrible news to report.
01:03:06.520 My friend...
01:03:07.100 This wouldn't be the first time, by the way, Brown has sicked the cops on us.
01:03:12.180 Check out this footage from 2020 when I was arrested for standing on the parking lot
01:03:17.560 of a taxpayer-funded rec centre.
01:03:20.140 Reporting on the corrupt mayor of the city, Patrick Brown.
01:03:25.300 Are you ready to leave now?
01:03:26.320 I am not, sir.
01:03:27.020 I am here to...
01:03:27.560 I'm going to help you off the property.
01:03:28.700 That's all.
01:03:29.240 Is he under arrest?
01:03:30.000 He's not under arrest?
01:03:30.660 I swear to you that we will go through such a disclosure procedure, and we will have every
01:03:37.920 one of the officers there, and we will answer the question, who made the order to arrest
01:03:44.900 a journalist doing public interest journalism on a public sidewalk?
01:03:48.440 I'm not under arrest, so you can't touch me, right?
01:03:50.500 Are you wanting to leave then?
01:03:51.980 I am not.
01:03:52.640 What they have given to us is an opening to give that rotten city hall an enema.
01:04:06.520 There is a very important constitutional principle at stake.
01:04:09.720 Look at this.
01:04:10.340 Four cars, and all you cops pulled off the shooting file.
01:04:13.580 You must be proud.
01:04:15.300 You're not listening to it.
01:04:16.700 Not one, not two, not three, but four police cars came to arrest a journalist?
01:04:26.300 So we are here, back at the secret headquarters of Patrick Brown.
01:04:33.060 Incredibly, Babu's white Audi is still here.
01:04:36.840 I would have thought he would have hit the road, too.
01:04:39.320 That would have been the smart thing.
01:04:40.500 Let's go inside and see if we can find Babu or any other City of Brampton staff who should
01:04:49.520 be working for the taxpayers of Brampton, not for Sneaky Mayor Patrick Brown's campaign.
01:04:58.880 And if they are, did they get a leave of absence?
01:05:02.440 We'll be very interested to see if we can document that.
01:05:06.440 I'm sure that's what they're going to claim, but we want to see that in writing.
01:05:09.340 In any event, let's go inside and see what we can find.
01:05:39.340 Hey, how are you doing there?
01:05:54.500 We're just looking for Babu.
01:05:57.900 Is it recording?
01:05:59.160 I am recording, sir.
01:06:00.140 Yes.
01:06:01.080 Oh, John Titian.
01:06:02.360 How are you doing there?
01:06:03.680 How are you like that?
01:06:04.540 Anyways, I'm just wondering.
01:06:07.180 Excuse me.
01:06:07.840 Is, uh...
01:06:08.420 Excuse me.
01:06:08.820 Yeah?
01:06:09.420 Excuse me.
01:06:09.980 Oh, oh.
01:06:10.460 You're not allowed to be on this property.
01:06:12.240 I'm asking you to leave now.
01:06:13.500 Okay, where's Babu?
01:06:14.800 Thank you very much.
01:06:15.900 Oh, sorry.
01:06:16.740 Don't squeeze my arm like that.
01:06:17.580 No, you're leaving, right?
01:06:19.480 How many City of Brampton employees are...
01:06:23.380 Yeah, how do you like that?
01:06:24.380 That's great.
01:06:25.400 Babu, Margaret Beveridge.
01:06:27.660 What's there?
01:06:28.040 Can you get your hands off me?
01:06:29.860 Can you get out of the office?
01:06:31.000 I am moving, but...
01:06:32.200 No, no, you're not moving.
01:06:33.080 I'm helping you to show a few things.
01:06:34.440 Oh, is that right?
01:06:35.680 I thought you were...
01:06:36.440 I thought you weren't involved in the, uh...
01:06:38.880 Hang on a second.
01:06:39.520 I thought you weren't involved...
01:06:40.520 Do you have a release for me for that video?
01:06:42.220 It doesn't need it.
01:06:43.140 It doesn't need it?
01:06:43.680 Why?
01:06:43.880 No.
01:06:44.760 Because we're practicing journalism.
01:06:46.280 No, you're not.
01:06:47.500 You as well.
01:06:48.020 Where's Babu?
01:06:48.860 His audio is there.
01:06:49.840 Your audio is out, please.
01:06:50.800 His audio is there.
01:06:51.740 Thank you very much.
01:06:53.340 Have a great day.
01:06:53.800 John, why did you lie about not being involved with the campaign?
01:06:57.420 So there you have it, folks.
01:06:59.040 Babu is literally hiding.
01:07:00.720 We know he's here.
01:07:01.600 That's his SUV over there.
01:07:03.420 Now, we did reach out to six of these employees.
01:07:07.180 Babu Nagalangam, Margaret Beveridge, Kuldip Goli, Sri Valparanathar, Iqbal Singh, and Yeshua
01:07:18.460 Jonas.
01:07:20.060 Our questions included the following.
01:07:22.760 Why are you regularly working in the City of Vaughan and not the City of Brampton, the municipality that employs you?
01:07:32.360 Why are you flying across Canada with Brown and not working for the City of Brampton?
01:07:38.620 Are you working on Mr. Brown's campaign for Conservative leader while still being paid by the City of Brampton?
01:07:45.880 Did you notify the Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Brampton that you were taking time off from your municipal duties to work on the Patrick Brown campaign?
01:07:58.120 And if you have indeed taken leave of absence from your City of Brampton position, can you kindly forward the documentation that would prove this?
01:08:09.180 Now, Mr. Beveridge and Mr. Goli responded, saying they were not being paid while working on the Brown campaign.
01:08:19.060 Yet, when we asked to see the written evidence that would prove this story, no evidence was forthcoming.
01:08:26.800 Mr. Jonas claimed he never went to Edmonton and Vancouver, but he failed to mention Calgary.
01:08:33.000 That's likely because we have eyewitness confirmation that he attended a rally in Calgary on May 13th, staged by Raman Katra.
01:08:46.140 Oops.
01:08:47.080 In the meantime, as you saw, John Natishan, who earlier told my colleague Lincoln Jay that he had nothing to do with the Patrick Brown campaign.
01:08:57.920 Well, there he is. He's the guy that manhandled me out to give me the bums rush.
01:09:03.000 Wow. Birds of a feather. They really do stick together.
01:09:07.580 And finally, if Patrick Brown is the mayor of Brampton and he resides in Brampton, why has he hidden his office in this secretive Vaughn Industrial Park?
01:09:22.580 It doesn't make sense. And we would never have found it if he weren't tipped off.
01:09:26.440 And once again, just like when we caught sneaky Patrick Brown in the hockey rink, well, that tip was gold.
01:09:34.320 This man cannot stop breaking the rules. He cannot stop lying.
01:09:41.320 Riddle me this. Is this the character you want as the head of the Conservative Party?
01:09:45.820 Is this the person you want as Prime Minister?
01:09:50.140 Wow.
01:09:51.260 For Rebel News, I'm David the Menzoid Menzies.
01:09:55.660 Well, I'll tell you, these Patrick Brown operatives, they really burned the midnight oil.
01:10:00.120 It's coming up for 8 o'clock.
01:10:01.960 And I don't know, Babu is either in a refrigerator or under a desk or something.
01:10:07.520 But this is a back entrance. He hasn't come out.
01:10:10.000 His audio is still there.
01:10:11.080 We've got the time.
