00:00:00.360 Hello, my friends. Normally, this is where I invite you to subscribe to the video version
00:00:06.720 of the show called Rebel News Plus, but today I'm going to beg you not to do that because
00:00:11.840 you don't want to see what I look like today. Normally, I stand with a suit, but today I'm
00:00:16.860 wearing a Santa's hat and I'm sitting in a sort of a very fat Santa kind of way, so it's
00:00:23.000 best that you don't go to rebelnewsplus.com and click subscribe. Just enjoy the audio
00:00:27.320 podcast. It'll stop your eyes from burning. Today, I sit in the Santa chair and read your
00:00:34.060 letters, so that's going to be the entire show. Without further ado, here's today's
00:00:38.560 podcast.
00:00:44.020 You're listening to a Religious Podcast.
00:00:46.520 Tonight, Letters to Sansa, or in this case, Letters to Ezra. You're watching The Ezra
00:01:01.260 LeVant Show.
00:01:02.100 Why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon consumer I know?
00:01:08.160 There's 8,500 customers here, and you won't give them an answer.
00:01:12.240 The only thing I have to say to the government about why I'm publishing it is because it's
00:01:16.640 my bloody right to do so.
00:01:23.840 Well, hello, my friends. You know what? I'm Jewish, of course, so we have Hanukkah Harry.
00:01:29.160 We don't have Santa clothes. I'm kidding. There's really no such thing as Hanukkah Harry,
00:01:32.980 but it's my pleasure to pretend to be Santa for one night. I'm physiologically, I'm a good
00:01:38.760 fit for the part. As you know, for a few days, actually a few weeks, we were calling for people
00:01:45.600 to write letters to Ezra, just ask me anything kind of stuff, and we're styling it as sort
00:01:51.100 of a Christmas Eve chit-chat, so I don't know. We're going to try something new. It's great
00:01:55.100 to be here, and I got my elf hat on. This big Santa's bag really is stuffed with letters.
00:02:05.260 Like, these are real letters in here. I have not seen any of them in advance. Our producers
00:02:12.360 look through them, but I have no clue what's in them. I'm just going to go through these
00:02:17.040 letters and read as many as I can, and hopefully the letters are interesting, and I'll try and
00:02:21.900 make my replies in advance. So anyways, let's give it a shot. Dearest Ezra, well, that's
00:02:26.080 a little familiar. I have two questions. One, your reports and information have gotten me
00:02:30.820 through the pandemic and made me feel less alone. I helped to run a rescue for abused
00:02:35.340 animals, allcreaturesrescue.ca, and the pandemic has been a bigger challenge to us than the previous
00:02:42.120 years. We have rescued over 300 animals and have been stretched to the brink. I was wondering
00:02:47.380 if you could do a shout out to our Toronto-based rescue, allcreaturesrescue.ca. My second question,
00:02:53.340 how did you and David Mente start working together? Thank you, and the happiest of holidays to you
00:02:58.120 all, Daria, Ontario. Well, that's a friendly letter. You know what? It's funny because my
00:03:04.380 family got a dog for the pandemic, just for company and for something to focus on, and now
00:03:12.300 we got two little doggies, and I'm absolutely happy to give a shout out to allcreaturesrescue.ca,
00:03:19.740 and good for you. On your second question, David Mente's, I met him, I mean, I sort of heard him
00:03:26.960 on the radio because he was, he was always doing the menzoid on the radio, and I got to know him
00:03:31.500 when we were at Sun News Network, and he, he was doing great reports back then, so when we started
00:03:37.560 Rebel News, I thought it was just a matter of time before we were united, and now he's just doing
00:03:42.180 a great job, and in fact, in our Rebbe Awards, our Viewer's Choice Award, I don't know if you know
00:03:48.140 this, but David won the bronze medal. He came in third, second was Sheila, and number one was
00:03:53.860 Avi Amini, so thanks for your letter. I'm going to keep going through these, this is fun. There's a lot
00:03:57.700 of letters here. We could be here for a while. I got my Red Bull, and of course, my Slim Fast
00:04:02.780 chocolates, because you can just see, right now I'm going slim slow. I got to speed that up.
00:04:08.860 Anyhow, back to the letters. Hello, Ezra. I want to thank you for the presence you've been during
00:04:14.580 this pandemic. It's amazing that you thought of crowdfunding for fines. It seemed a bit like
00:04:18.860 the young boy's response as he threw jellyfish back in the sea. It matters to this one, but it
00:04:23.600 has been crucial, and your support from people like Adam Skelly, Chris Scott, various store owners,
00:04:28.280 and all the pastors, both in funding and exposure, has been tremendous. People were encouraged to keep
00:04:32.560 going because they realized that as far as the rebel, and your followers are concerned,
00:04:36.880 they were not alone. Long may you and your wonderful team of reporters, camera crews,
00:04:40.520 and tech guys keep going. I'm so privileged to know you. Verna Moorcroft, Ontario.
00:04:46.820 Well, thank you, and we have a lot of friends named Moorcroft. I'm sure they're related.
00:04:52.300 Adam Skelly, we interviewed him, and we certainly covered the police raid on his restaurant. There
00:04:57.880 were 100 cops, horses, cars. It was just insane. It was a shock and awe, abuse of police. And I think
00:05:06.140 that that's been one of the narratives of this pandemic, is how police have allowed themselves
00:05:10.160 to be political intimidators, sort of stormtroopers. And I say this as someone who, for the first 47
00:05:15.520 years of my life, was a super fan of police, like unquestionably, irrationally pro-police.
00:05:22.680 That's been broken in me, I regret to say. And Chris Scott, well, he certainly has fun. In fact,
00:05:29.940 he spent time in jail just for keeping his whistle-stop diner open in the town of Mirror,
00:05:34.600 Alberta. I mean, my point is, if you don't want to go to the, like, it's the only gas station in town.
00:05:39.660 It's the only general store in town. It's the only restaurant in town. If you don't want to go there,
00:05:43.720 fine, if you want to schlep to the next town. But seriously, to arrest him and jail him in the
00:05:50.260 province of Alberta, whose motto is strong and free, just crazy. Now, by the way, I note that
00:05:55.100 these aren't really questions. I said, ask me anything. These are more love letters.
00:06:02.840 All I want for Christmas is a new family doctor. About a month ago, I blew out my back at work and
00:06:07.500 needed a referral from my family doctor to get x-rays. He refused to see me in person because I don't
00:06:11.500 have COVID vaccine yet. Long story short, I called the College of Physicians and Surgeons,
00:06:16.380 explained the situation to them, and now they are investigating my doctor. It turns out he's
00:06:19.860 outside college mandates on this specific issue. He's actually required to see unvaccinated people
00:06:24.680 in person. Now my family and I have de-rostered with him and are looking for a new family doctor.
00:06:29.680 Merry Christmas to everyone in Rebel. You're the best. Phil VT in Ontario. Again, I thought I was
00:06:34.780 answering questions, but I do appreciate your story. I'm skeptical that the College of Physicians
00:06:41.900 and Surgeons is going to do anything. I think they've been a tremendous failure to the pandemic.
00:06:46.700 They have actually investigated doctors for giving medical advice that is appropriate to the patient.
00:06:52.660 The difference between public health and actually a doctor that meets with a patient is a doctor and a
00:06:58.700 patient learns about the patient, listens to the patient, gives advice particular to the patient,
00:07:03.520 and the patient can take it or leave it. There's a relationship between the two, whereas a public
00:07:08.520 health doctor may have an MD after their name, but they're not really a doctor. They're a bureaucrat or
00:07:14.900 a politician with a degree, and they don't look at people as individuals to be cared about. They look
00:07:19.940 at them as ants in an ant colony. There couldn't be anything more different between an MD who actually
00:07:25.440 practices medicine and a public health tyrant. All right, maybe there's a question here.
00:07:29.720 Ezra, it has been a pleasure to listen to your shows, and I'm very glad that you started Rebel News.
00:07:35.720 Honest reporting is what is needed, and I'm thankful for yours and all that work at Rebel News for your
00:07:40.020 hard work. I sincerely wish you God's blessings in your work. A blessed Christmas, a happy and blessed
00:07:44.840 year to you, your family, and all. Tim Vandenand. Well, that's great, Tim. I appreciate that. You know,
00:07:50.780 we had an illegal Christmas party a few days ago. I'm not going to tell you the secret location
00:07:57.360 where we had it, and we engaged in a little bit of human trafficking to bring in some unvaxxed people
00:08:02.120 from afar. The good news is that Rebel is strong. The bad news is we're strong because the world is
00:08:12.000 burning, and sort of we're firemen. So I would rather be a fireman who just sits and plays chess
00:08:18.900 all day in the firehouse, rather than a fireman who's called into the fire every day. I want to
00:08:23.200 be like the Maytag repairman, just sort of lonely. Unfortunately, the world is going the wrong
00:08:28.920 direction, and our motto is telling the other side of the story. There's more demand than ever. I wish
00:08:34.160 the world were boring. Here's one from the U.S. of A. Hello, Ezra. I thoroughly enjoy your live
00:08:41.040 streams on Rebel News. It's always exciting to hear your point of view. I actually have two questions for
00:08:44.580 you. Since I'm American, I'm actually curious as to what Canadian actually is. So how would you
00:08:50.940 describe Canada's values, core beliefs, and identity? And on another note, I heard critical
00:08:56.600 race theory is also in Canada. Is there a big movement against it like in America? Why am I
00:09:01.420 not? Also have a blessed holiday season and keep up the amazing journalism, signed Nebula USA. Well,
00:09:07.860 thank you for this. On the first point, you know, Canada was a few things. It was French explorers and
00:09:16.400 settlers in New France, which is now called Quebec, and it was British North America, part of British
00:09:22.340 North America, and after the American Revolution, those who were loyal to the king came north. There was a
00:09:31.040 phrase, united empire loyalists. So those are the folks. So they brought with them some political
00:09:36.520 sensibility. Now, I'm not saying that 200 plus years later that still defines the country. Other
00:09:42.900 things do too. Socialism has crept in to our country through two Trudeaus now. I think that we're a little
00:09:51.780 bit more European in some of our sensibilities, and we don't have the robust American constitution to
00:09:57.100 strengthen our freedoms. But we are closer to America than we are to anyone else. We're seamless
00:10:03.320 almost. And so that's what I think we're Canadian is. It's between Europe and America on a bunch of
00:10:12.560 different spectrums. On your question about critical race theory, it is in Canada, but not as deeply
00:10:21.880 rooted as in the United States. It's one of those knockoffs, like Occupy Wall Street. I understand
00:10:27.660 Occupy Wall Street because there was a big bank bailout in the States, but there were no banks
00:10:31.780 bailed out in the 2008 financial crisis in Canada. So having an Occupy Toronto movement was just a
00:10:37.960 copycat, was just a colonization by Americans, but it just didn't fit here. I think a lot of that is
00:10:44.360 the same with critical race theory and Black Lives Matter. You may know that Canada, as part of the
00:10:49.920 British Empire, abolished slavery very, more than two centuries ago, abolished the trade of slaves,
00:10:57.860 and then sooner than most other places in the world, abolished the owning of slaves. The Royal Navy
00:11:05.140 and their West Africa squadron hunted for slave trading ships for 50 years and freed literally hundreds
00:11:13.400 of thousands of thousands of slaves en route from Africa to America. So that's part of the Canadian
00:11:20.480 tradition. Not only being part of the British fight against slavery, the abolition of slavery, but being
00:11:28.300 the destination at the end of the Underground Railways. So that's a little bit of that for you.
00:11:34.060 Well, here's a friendly one from a buddy of mine. Thank you for the invitations to partake in sane
00:11:42.960 conversation. Something that has been in short supply the last two years. A Merry Christmas and
00:11:48.040 blessed Kwanzaa to all. That's from our friend Andrew Lawton at True North. The True North Initiative,
00:11:55.960 of our good friends. That's at TNC. That's so friendly. That's our buddy Andrew. You know, we have
00:12:01.060 him on the show all the time, and in case he has me on his show, too. All right, I'm going to keep
00:12:05.140 reading. I'm having some fun. I'm warming up to this. There's not a lot of questions. That wasn't
00:12:09.160 there. There was no question there. All right. I wish you were seated next to me on a long plane ride.
00:12:17.540 We'd have so much fun talking about conservative issues. The time would fly by. Bruce Atchison, Alberta.
00:12:22.720 Well, Bruce, you think you'd like that. You think you'd like that. Would you really?
00:12:31.800 I sort of spill over. Like, this is a nice wide chair, really nice and comfy. If we were next to
00:12:39.060 each other, I would be like this, and I would, I'm, you know what, not because I'm an aggressive
00:12:43.440 territorial conqueror, but I sort of spill out over the armrest. Because there's a lot of me, Bruce.
00:12:49.140 And I think it would be a good conversation, but I think you would, you would sort of, especially
00:12:54.120 if I was in the middle seat, I think you would like that for about 15 minutes. But it's nice
00:12:59.340 of you to suggest that I appreciate this. I gotta keep going. I'm just going to see how many, I got
00:13:03.320 a whole bag of these. Can you believe it? Oh, here's a short one. Merry Christmas. Happy New
00:13:10.200 Year. Hang tough. And keep fighting for freedom. From Paul McCullough. Well, Paul, it's nice to hear
00:13:16.800 from you again. Thanks very much. I see some familiar names here. We will keep fighting
00:13:21.180 for freedom. In answer to the point earlier about the Fight the Fines project, I think
00:13:29.140 that was actually, if I had to list the number one accomplishment that we've had this year,
00:13:33.420 it would be the spinoff of our non-profit work. Like, Fight the Fines was always sort of charitable
00:13:41.580 in nature, right? Like crowdfunding money to hire lawyers to help other people. That's not really
00:13:48.040 like a business. That was always sort of non-profit in its feeling. So to spin that project off to a
00:13:54.240 registered charity, thedemocracyfund.ca, and just to be able to have that charity issue charity tax
00:14:02.480 receipts, and to do all that stuff that's not really a, that's not really business. It's more
00:14:08.320 charity. And that enabled us to help so many more people. So there's about 2,100 people that the
00:14:15.340 Democracy Fund is helping, uh, fight the fines. And then the Democracy Fund has taken on a bunch of
00:14:21.940 vaccine cases. Those are a lot harder to fight. And we haven't yet found our groove yet on that,
00:14:27.000 but we're working on it. Here's a friendly one. Dear Ezra, E is for excellence, which Ezra exudes. Z is
00:14:34.720 for zealot, the zeal of this dude. R is for rebel, the news that is real. A, the admiration, all rebel
00:14:41.520 is for real. Heartfelt respect, gratitude, and admiration always to Ezra and the Rebel News team.
00:14:46.400 All the very best for the Christmas season and the year ahead, Louise Barnett, Alberta. Louise, that is
00:14:50.460 so nice, and that's a great poem. He got the rhyme and the rhythm. And, um, and we do have zeal. You
00:14:56.920 know, I've heard people describe us. I'm, you know, I mentioned earlier that I'm, I'm Jewish. I'm not
00:15:01.480 Christian, even though I'm dressed sort of like a hobo Santa. But, um, uh, I've, I've had people
00:15:08.960 describe rebel news in different ways. Some people use the word, um, it's a mission, and that's true.
00:15:14.860 Some people have used the phrase calling. That's sort of heavy. One friend of mine, Leo, said, um,
00:15:22.660 it's a ministry, which is a very Christian word, isn't it? Like to minister, like a minister in a
00:15:30.020 congregation. But, you know, it's true. We are a ministry of ideas and of, of works. I believe that
00:15:37.220 everyone in our company feels that way. I mean, you don't get to meet everyone because I think
00:15:41.640 there's a grand total of 17 people in our company who occasionally appear on camera. But there are
00:15:49.240 33 other people in the company who are never on camera. They're video editors. They're an
00:15:55.560 accountant. There's a, uh, chief operating officer. There's, um, you know, lawyers. So there's a lot
00:16:04.080 of people you don't see for it. For every person who's on TV, we, we actually, now that I think of
00:16:08.820 the math, have two people behind the scenes. But I believe that even the people who aren't directly,
00:16:14.420 uh, implicated in the ideological editorial work, I feel like they have a sense of mission and
00:16:19.880 ministry. Uh, here's a short one. What do you think the implications for free speech are with
00:16:26.800 the recent revelation of Julian Assange's extradition for prosecution in the U.S.? Signed, Jason Farrell,
00:16:33.440 Ireland. I'll start with an anecdote and then I'll answer your question. When I visited Tommy Robinson
00:16:39.380 at HMP Belmarsh, Her Majesty's Prison Belmarsh in the U.K., when he was serving time there for
00:16:46.100 contempt of court, he was in a special handling unit called The Suites, um, that was designed for
00:16:52.560 extreme cases. There were a lot of terrorists in this prison, by the way. It's really the U.K.'s
00:16:57.780 version of Guantanamo Bay. That is where their terrorists go, their worst murderers. There were
00:17:02.080 three prisoners in the special handling unit where Tommy was. Tommy was one of them. He was some murderer,
00:17:07.920 and you could hear his hollering through the stone walls. And the third prisoner was Julian
00:17:14.020 Assange. Can you believe that? It was really like a political prison wing. Um, about Julian
00:17:19.940 Assange, I looked into his case more than a decade ago, probably, you know, right at the time when he
00:17:29.120 made news the first time when he was arrested. And the information that I got at the time
00:17:35.240 was that he had released secret information about the U.S. military that gave away the identities and
00:17:47.460 secrets that caused, uh, terrorists to be able to kill, uh, American agents or, or tipsters, that he
00:17:58.420 really breached, um, the national security of America. And for example, how to defeat some American
00:18:08.260 technology, uh, and that would set off IEDs. So I guess what I'm saying is when I first learned about
00:18:16.260 Julian Assange, it's clear to me in retrospect that what I learned was the information of the
00:18:22.960 national security point of view. You could call it the deep state. Um, there were, there were certain
00:18:29.520 things that I observed, like Wiki, uh, WikiLeaks was started with the goal of challenging dictatorships
00:18:37.180 like China and Venezuela. And then I saw that this one fella, Julian Assange, focused on America,
00:18:45.080 and it set me against him. And I wrote that he was a spy. And I wrote that, I don't know, 10 or 15
00:18:52.860 years ago. And frankly, I didn't revisit the subject for 10 or 15 years. But it's only in the last couple
00:19:00.040 of years that I have reconsidered the matter. And I don't think I'm ready to declare myself
00:19:05.340 an Assange fan. I'm just honestly not. I haven't spent enough time to familiarize myself with the
00:19:11.280 subject. But rather what has happened is that my credulous approach to the narrative of the national
00:19:19.920 security military industrial complex has been shattered. Just like I said, for the first 47
00:19:26.840 years of my life, really police could do no wrong in my mind. I mean, I would support police in 99.9999%
00:19:35.600 in the cases. That's gone. And so is my credulous approach to the narratives of the CIA and the FBI
00:19:44.240 because I see how politicized and weaponized they are. I don't know enough about Julian Assange
00:19:49.240 to give you a deeper answer to that, other than to say, if I could turn back the hands of time to when
00:19:55.280 I wrote my original work about him a decade ago, I don't think I would have written that because I
00:20:00.000 don't think I continue to trust the CIA, the NSA, the Pentagon in general when it comes to Julian
00:20:09.300 Assange. I just, I've seen too much about what they do. So that's sort of a way of saying I don't know.
00:20:16.440 Holy moly! This is a four-page letter. This is a four-page letter. I'm not going to read the whole
00:20:22.660 thing, but I'll read a bit. Dear Mr. Levan, my name is Serena Johnson. I'm a blind student at
00:20:26.840 King's University in Edmonton, Alberta. The university began implementing strict COVID
00:20:31.480 restrictions that have harmed my way of life. Before my classes began on September 8th, 2021,
00:20:37.020 every student at King's was asked to fill out a survey about their vaccination status.
00:20:40.580 Whether or not people had obtained vaccinations for any illnesses had not mattered to the university
00:20:44.400 until this point. The fact that they requested people's vaccination status regarding COVID deeply
00:20:48.760 troubled me. I believe that whether people choose to obtain this shot or not should be considered
00:20:52.440 private medical information. I stated that directly on the survey. The university
00:20:56.680 also announced that a clinic would be open at the school on September 16th for those who wish to
00:21:01.400 get the shot. On September 8th, my first day back at school, I noticed a negative shift in the
00:21:06.640 school's atmosphere. My educational assistant began pressuring me aggressively to get the shot.
00:21:13.200 It's all up to you, the people who need to be vaccinated, if we get back to normal or not,
00:21:17.480 she said. Isn't that the truth? They're really saying, it's a blame thing, aren't they?
00:21:21.920 This was unusual behavior that I had not seen from her before. It honestly disturbed me that someone
00:21:28.220 who I respected would harass me for having different beliefs. On September 16th and 17th,
00:21:32.880 the school was closed due to the restriction exemption program. That's Kenny's vaccine passport
00:21:39.240 scheme. Enforcing tighter controls on Alberta's businesses. These measures would come into effect
00:21:44.140 starting September 27th. Now, this is a very interesting letter, and I will read it, but I'm
00:21:51.840 not going to read the whole thing now, just because in the interest of time, I am six credits away from
00:21:59.440 a three-year bachelor of arts. My GPA is high. Being forced to walk away like this saddens me because I
00:22:04.760 love to learn. School was my life. Without that to turn to, my purpose and freedom have been removed.
00:22:10.640 That's a very sad but commonplace story. All I want is to be treated like a human being rather
00:22:18.540 than a third-class creature. I will continue to fight for my freedom. Now that I am no longer in
00:22:23.260 university, I have ample time to pursue this goal. I hope that my story inspires others to fight for
00:22:27.600 their rights as well. Sincerely, Serena Johnson. Well, this is a very sad story, Serena, and I have to
00:22:33.900 tell you that my email box is like a waterfall of tears. I get dozens of stories like this from people
00:22:44.280 who are forced to leave their jobs, forced to leave their schooling, or people who cannot make that
00:22:52.080 choice, forced to undergo an injection contrary to their wishes. For those who say it's consent,
00:22:59.520 I invite them to look at the criminal code definition of extortion. It is not free and
00:23:07.340 informed consent to say, for example, here's a false choice. Your money or your life? Like that's the
00:23:14.360 cliche of a mugger jumping out of an alley with a gun. Your money or your life? I'm giving you the
00:23:19.840 choice, man. I'm not forcing you to do anything. You have the choice. Your money or your life?
00:23:24.480 Well, hey, your choice. I'm fine. Or it would be like three people voting, the two of us voting to
00:23:31.640 take your money. Hey, it was a democratic vote. No. It violates basic civil liberties that are immune to
00:23:41.500 majority rules. And it's not a real choice when you take away someone's job or their livelihood or
00:23:48.300 their access to the public square and in Serena's case demonizing her. It's terrible.
00:23:54.480 Ezra, greetings from a longtime Rebel supporter. I can't emphasize enough how important Rebel is to
00:23:59.540 the Canadian media landscape. Rebel is the only right-wing media organization of significance in
00:24:03.220 the country dominated by middle and left-wing news outlets. The past two years have been a
00:24:07.340 shocking revelation to me. I've come to realize the ugly truth that a healthy, stable democracy can
00:24:11.980 quickly descend into oppressive authoritarianism. The central principles of democracy, free speech,
00:24:17.000 freedom of assembly, and the right to protest have been trampled underfoot. The police have been
00:24:20.520 turned from protecting the public to bullies who become violent oppressors of those who
00:24:24.200 just want to protest peacefully. Equally shocking is that most of the public seem to be fine
00:24:28.520 with what's happening. It is sad how few have the courage to stand up and say that this is wrong.
00:24:33.680 In such an atmosphere, your work and that of Rebel has become amplified in importance. I wish you and
00:24:38.520 everyone of the Rebel the very best for the coming year. Paul Williamson, Alberta. Paul, this was
00:24:42.340 supposed to be ask me anything. I'm joking around. Thank you for the very friendly words. And
00:24:47.400 unfortunately, it's true. As I said at the very beginning, near the beginning, we've had our most
00:24:53.060 successful year ever in terms of viewership and the growth of the company. We're twice as large now
00:24:59.180 than we were a year ago. When we have staff meetings, we sort of joke about how many, who's the old
00:25:05.420 hand? Someone who we hired six months ago is now like the dean of the company because we, in fact,
00:25:11.840 we had someone start new just this very morning. So we're growing. We have more views. We're twice the
00:25:19.160 views of a year ago. But this is all because we're in a crisis. And there are a handful of other, I'm not even
00:25:28.580 going to use the word right-linging because because being against big pharma, being for bodily autonomy and
00:25:34.840 your choice, you know, my body, my choice, supporting labor union workers against unions that sell them out to the
00:25:42.560 corporations for a VAX mandate. Is that right wing? Is it right wing to say, for like a young woman to say,
00:25:51.980 I don't want to take a forced injection because I'm worried about my ability to have kids. And this
00:25:56.900 isn't tested yet in the long term. Or I don't want to, I'm really into natural health. I'm extremely fit.
00:26:03.020 I watch what goes into my body. I don't feel like I'm at risk from the vaccine. I don't want to be
00:26:08.980 forced to enjoy. Is that right wing? Does I support that person? Traditionally, that's what the left
00:26:12.860 wingers would say. Look at our Afghan, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Look at Naomi Wolf. Those are not
00:26:17.760 right wingers. I can't even believe, believe it. There's this communist named Max Blumenthal
00:26:25.000 who I used to, frankly, despise when he would talk about, you know, economic systems. But for some
00:26:34.100 reason, he's a commie who cares about individual liberty. I didn't know there was such a thing.
00:26:38.880 I can't, I can't stop retweeting what he says. My point is left and right don't quite make sense
00:26:44.060 anymore. When you have Doug Ford and Jason Kenney, two right wingers using authoritarian, Jason Kenney,
00:26:52.900 arresting pastors and jailing them. I don't even know what right wing and left wing is anymore.
00:26:58.020 But I know I'm on the side of freedom and personal choice and individuals. And that's put me in league
00:27:03.420 with people who I would never even talk to a couple years ago. Now there are other friends
00:27:07.340 like True North News, TNC.news. We had a fun letter from Andrew Lawton. Western Standard Online,
00:27:14.880 a magazine name I had something to do with 20 years ago. You know, it's not a lot. I'm running
00:27:22.600 out of names. There's individuals, Spencer Fernando. There's a few. But really, you're right to say
00:27:28.140 when we're the largest. And that makes me very sad. All right, here's the letter. Again,
00:27:36.020 I don't see a question in it. Hello, Ezra. I would like to tell you a true story of the Grinch
00:27:40.580 who stole my son's Christmas. My son, Oliver, practices water polo five times a week for at
00:27:44.560 least two hours. Water polo is everything to him and he hopes one day he will pay off for the
00:27:48.080 scholarship. I'm going to skip ahead. Without ever, we have already, okay, I won't skip ahead.
00:27:55.060 He has a medical condition which makes the COVID shot very risky for his heart.
00:27:59.680 His doctor has granted him a medical exemption after a great deal of tests and scrutiny.
00:28:04.500 His medical exemption is accepted by all parties except Water Polo Canada.
00:28:09.300 They contracted a doctor who graduated in 2019 to deny his medical exemption days before the first
00:28:15.380 national champion league tournament earlier this month. We've already paid for him to attend the
00:28:20.740 National Sports Academy, airfares for the season, and sign him up for a year-round water polo club.
00:28:25.060 Without ever talking to or assessing my son, this inexperienced doctor felt entitled to deny him
00:28:29.880 from playing in any competitive capacity. My Christmas wishes for you to look into the doctor's
00:28:34.100 accreditation, so I don't even believe he holds a medical position judging by the fact he used his
00:28:38.300 university email and gmail account for rejecting my son from playing. I believe the Water Polo Canada
00:28:43.540 board is taking vaccine politics to a whole new level with this decision that's hurting my son
00:28:47.800 greatly. Thank you and have a Merry Christmas. Best regards, Mike Peltzner.
00:28:51.440 That's an atrocious story. The fact that your son's doctor, and I said this before, you know,
00:28:57.480 an MD focuses on a patient, gets to know them over the course of time, years, maybe even decades,
00:29:04.220 knows them, examines them, talks to them, understands them, and you say after a great deal of scrutiny,
00:29:10.080 and some newly minted MD, if that is even his status, hired specifically to be a counter-doctor,
00:29:19.280 an anti-doctor, is a disgrace. It's a disgrace to medicine, by the way, and shame on the College
00:29:25.160 of Physicians and Surgeons. All right, I'm going to look for something that actually has a question in it.
00:29:30.060 There's no question here, but I'm going to read it anyways.
00:29:35.780 Merry Christmas, Ezra. I hope you also had a happy Hanukkah. I recall the story of Hanukkah
00:29:39.100 that preceded the miracle of the Eight Nights of Lights, that story where Judas Maccabees
00:29:43.220 and some good Jewish men deposed Antiochus Epiphanes took back the second temple and physically and
00:29:48.880 ceremonially cleansed and prepared and repaired it. These days, the story takes on an even greater meaning
00:29:53.700 with Justin Trudeau as both Antiochus Epiphanes and his own pagan statue, Jupiter Olympus,
00:29:59.540 thus defiling our country like Epiphanes did with the temple. Keep up the good and most necessary work.
00:30:05.020 You and the rebel do. Yours truly, Don Edward Cook from Ontario. I tell you, you got your history,
00:30:10.500 you got your Old Testament in there. Appreciate the Hanukkah shout-out. Thank you very much.
00:30:15.260 And I think you're right. I think Justin Trudeau sort of worships himself.
00:30:19.200 I'm glancing at this letter. I do not see a question mark. I do not see... This was supposed to be Ask Ezra.
00:30:28.000 Ask. Ask implies a question, not tell Ezra. Dear Ezra. Okay, well, thank you.
00:30:35.140 I cannot tell you just how much your show presence and revolution has meant to be over this past year,
00:30:38.740 what a year it has been, two years really. Hearing your voice brings me calm and sanity in a time when no one can feel very alone.
00:30:45.180 I should say, a lot of people, when they hear my voice, say the opposite. So thank you.
00:30:52.820 I've often wondered throughout the day week, am I the only one that thinks this is nuts?
00:30:56.700 And then I listen to Rebel News, you on your broadcast, and I'm reminded, no.
00:31:00.040 I'm the same one here. I have people. I'm not alone. I'm thankful that my husband and I are like-minded.
00:31:04.940 And few for those who are divided in households. You know, that is such an important point.
00:31:08.520 There are some times, and that's the worst part of this pandemic, is people pitted against each other.
00:31:13.560 The government is atrocious, of course. But when you have shopkeepers pitted against customers and families divided, that is the worst thing.
00:31:23.540 I remember I used to read stories in the New York Times,
00:31:27.060 I'm divorcing my husband because I'm anti-Trump and he's pro-Trump.
00:31:30.720 And I thought, that is an awful way to live. You're breaking up your marriage over Trump?
00:31:35.280 How about just don't?
00:31:37.320 But, I mean, I had a Zoom call today with a fella. He's divorced. They've got joint custody of the kid.
00:31:47.120 And guess what? One parent wants the kid to be jabbed and one doesn't.
00:31:52.760 Imagine the gravity of that debate. This is absolutely atrocious what's been done.
00:31:58.060 I am thankful for Rebel News and the truth that is broadcast. I'm thankful for the laughs.
00:32:05.040 I'm thankful that just by tuning in, I can know that I'm not alone.
00:32:07.840 Thank you for your tireless efforts put forth for the people of Canada.
00:32:10.760 Little do they know what you have done for all of them.
00:32:13.340 And rest assured, when Judgment Day comes, and it will, you can stand and say you did all you could do.
00:32:18.760 You spoke and reported truth. You were true to who you are.
00:32:21.600 To what you saw, you did not sell your soul.
00:32:23.100 May you and your team continue to prosper all the best to all who work for Rebel News and their families.
00:32:28.040 Let us continue to march forward into 2022, knowing we did all we could and we spoke truth into the darkness.
00:32:34.040 Laurie Brouwer, BC.
00:32:37.160 Laurie, thank you for that.
00:32:40.740 It is extremely important to know you're not alone.
00:32:44.200 In fact, there's, you can find it pretty quick on YouTube.
00:32:48.880 There's two studies that were done in the 60s.
00:32:51.580 I don't know if you saw, I did a show on this a few months back.
00:32:54.820 One of the studies was an atrocious study called the Milgram Experiments, M-I-L-G-R-A-M.
00:33:02.320 And it was
00:33:03.340 a test that was like a tricky test.
00:33:13.300 The test was, someone was called in and said,
00:33:16.560 there's someone in the other room.
00:33:17.680 We're going to ask them questions, simple questions, and if they get it wrong, you turn
00:33:22.160 the knob here and they'll get a mild shock.
00:33:25.220 And there was someone wearing a white lab coat,
00:33:27.420 giving the instruction.
00:33:29.540 But it wasn't really the person on the other side of the wall who was being tested.
00:33:33.320 That was just an actor.
00:33:34.380 The test was actually the person being told to give the jolt.
00:33:40.460 So, the person would get something wrong and the guy in the white lab coat would say, give
00:33:45.580 him a jolt.
00:33:46.360 And you'd hear, ow!
00:33:47.260 And the person giving the jolt would say, is this right?
00:33:51.900 And the person in the white lab coat would say, yeah, it's okay.
00:33:55.100 I'm in authority, it's okay.
00:33:57.480 And then there would be another question for the actor behind the wall.
00:34:00.860 He'd get it wrong and the voltage would go up.
00:34:03.080 And they would be, ah!
00:34:04.160 It wouldn't just be ouch, it would be real pain.
00:34:07.300 And then they would do it again.
00:34:08.820 And every time the voltage would go up.
00:34:10.460 And then after a while, the actor went silent as if he was knocked unconscious.
00:34:15.480 And the Milgram test obviously was not to test, you know, the actor was just faking it.
00:34:21.600 That, he wasn't being tested.
00:34:23.280 The test is, would you meet out pain, painful violence, if someone in authority told you
00:34:33.040 it was okay?
00:34:34.740 And a terrifying number of people, when they saw someone in authority saying, do it,
00:34:39.160 it's okay, do it, it's okay.
00:34:40.460 Would do it.
00:34:41.820 That's called the Milgram experiment.
00:34:43.960 There was another experiment called the Ash conformity test.
00:34:49.120 And that was a little bit different, but just as terrifying.
00:34:52.860 Group of people were sat next to each other.
00:34:56.580 And they were told to compare the length of lines on a piece of paper.
00:35:01.220 Like a child's test.
00:35:02.560 Like, seriously, a three-year-old could do it.
00:35:04.840 They had a piece of paper with a line this big.
00:35:07.240 And a piece, and another line this big.
00:35:09.040 And another line this big.
00:35:11.300 And then they would show you a line and say, which size is it?
00:35:15.500 Like, seriously, a three-year-old could do that.
00:35:17.540 And there were five people in a row.
00:35:21.060 Four of them were actors.
00:35:23.500 And one of them was the real subject of this.
00:35:26.860 And so, occasionally, the actors would all say the wrong thing.
00:35:35.520 So they would say, this short line is actually this medium line.
00:35:39.800 And it was evident it wasn't true.
00:35:42.220 But every one of them said that.
00:35:45.680 And the Ash conformity test was, when everyone else in the room is saying that out loud,
00:35:54.060 will you dare to say the opposite?
00:35:56.400 A shocking number of people would deny the facts of their own eyes just to fit in.
00:36:05.280 Now, there was a part two of the Ash conformity test.
00:36:07.680 If one other person said the truth, then the ability of the test subject to stand with his instincts was greatly enhanced.
00:36:21.540 Because he thought, oh, I'm not alone.
00:36:23.880 I'm not crazy.
00:36:25.920 Like, it would be if someone showed you blue and said it was green.
00:36:29.820 And every one of them said, that's green, that's green, that's green.
00:36:32.120 You say, well, maybe I'm wrong.
00:36:34.180 My eyes.
00:36:35.020 Like, you would doubt your own eyes.
00:36:37.360 Unless there was another person saying that they're crazy, right?
00:36:40.640 And that's the value of standing up.
00:36:45.620 Because you let a million other people in silence know there are others out there.
00:36:51.960 There are others out there.
00:36:53.100 And that's the power of Rebel News.
00:36:56.700 And I think of Dr. Julie Panessi of the Democracy Fund.
00:37:00.220 To let other people know not only that there are others out there, but that there's a moral case.
00:37:05.280 So there's a very long answer to your question.
00:37:07.700 But it speaks to the conformity.
00:37:11.540 When you feel you're alone, it's hard.
00:37:14.180 But when you know there's just one other person out there, it's less hard.
00:37:19.220 Hello, Ezra.
00:37:19.880 Just a short note to thank you for the supernatural effort that you and your team put every day.
00:37:22.820 There's no questions.
00:37:24.800 This is not a question.
00:37:25.780 There's no question mark.
00:37:29.300 I marvel the quality, accuracy, and integrity you have in journalism and as a person.
00:37:32.540 God has given you a valued voice, integrity, and ability to seek out and report the truth.
00:37:35.920 I hope that you were able to enjoy some time with your family and friends this Christmas.
00:37:39.340 God's continued blessings on you, my friend.
00:37:41.040 Paul Conrad, Manitoba.
00:37:42.520 Thank you very much, Paul.
00:37:43.500 Listen, I'm just joking.
00:37:44.340 I wanted to answer questions.
00:37:45.940 I literally called it Ask Me Anything.
00:37:47.600 I thought there was going to be some tough questions.
00:37:50.240 I thought there was going to be personal questions.
00:37:53.040 I thought there was going to be questions that were so embarrassing.
00:37:56.080 I didn't even want to read them.
00:37:58.780 I have not seen any of these.
00:38:00.360 No question mark.
00:38:05.040 Merry Christmas.
00:38:05.820 As or before the summer, I'm afraid to say I didn't know who you were.
00:38:08.300 That's okay.
00:38:09.980 Call that the Eden time.
00:38:11.940 The Garden of Eden.
00:38:14.060 I'm sorry that we're no longer in the before times.
00:38:18.980 I'm 67, 11, retirement.
00:38:21.440 You should try it sometime anyways.
00:38:22.760 How I got to know you was because my wife was watching one of your shows on the iPad in our holiday trailer at a campground in Alberta.
00:38:29.600 She was interested in the non-mainstream news about this COVID scam.
00:38:32.860 She cranked up the volume on the iPad for your show and I listened while making coffee.
00:38:36.400 My first thought of you and your voice was that she was listening to some stand-up comedian.
00:38:42.140 I did think you were funny and informative, not even sure what broadcast you were doing.
00:38:46.160 Anyways, now you are like a bad drug for us.
00:38:48.660 We can't kick the habit.
00:38:49.620 Keep up the good work and the quest for our freedoms.
00:38:51.640 Once again, have a Merry Christmas.
00:38:53.120 Rick and Marie Narenberg.
00:38:54.980 Well, that's pretty friendly.
00:38:56.460 Thank you very much.
00:38:57.560 You know what?
00:38:58.480 I have to tell you that most of the time when people laugh, I don't think I'm telling a joke.
00:39:05.000 They laugh and when I try and tell a joke, there's no laughing.
00:39:09.540 So I say things and people laugh and I sort of say, yeah, that was a good one.
00:39:14.120 But normally the laughs don't come when I think they should and they come when I think they shouldn't.
00:39:19.320 Okay, finally a question.
00:39:21.640 What is your favorite sports team?
00:39:24.740 Mine is the Toronto Maple Leafs.
00:39:25.940 Signed Pujit in Ontario.
00:39:27.720 And here's where the embarrassment comes in.
00:39:32.220 Because I am not very sportsy.
00:39:34.960 I am not very sportsy.
00:39:37.740 You know, there was a show in the 90s when I was growing up.
00:39:40.640 And there was this immigrant to America called Balki Bartokamus.
00:39:44.020 And I don't even know what country he was supposed to have come from.
00:39:48.140 But it was all about him and the malapropisms.
00:39:51.220 So he was staying with this other guy.
00:39:53.180 And he would say, oh, get out of the city instead of get out of town.
00:39:56.560 And they built an entire show on him, like, getting idioms wrong as a newcomer.
00:40:03.780 It was actually a very cute show.
00:40:05.540 And he was asked a sports question once.
00:40:09.480 Which team would be what?
00:40:10.940 He said, oh, the Giants.
00:40:12.660 Well, the Giants are obviously going to beat the Bulls or whatever.
00:40:17.320 He would ascribe, you know, he would decide which team is going to win by thinking, well, who's, you know, the Flames would beat the Oilers.
00:40:26.020 Because the Flames would catch the oil on fire.
00:40:29.200 That's, you know, a Maple Leaf.
00:40:30.500 That's going to burn by the Flames.
00:40:32.100 That's the kind of analysis he would bring to sports.
00:40:34.540 That's about the level I'm at.
00:40:36.100 I'm sorry.
00:40:36.540 See, that's the kind of embarrassing questions I thought there would be a lot more of.
00:40:40.520 Hello, Ezra.
00:40:42.100 I personally just want to wish you and the entire Rebel team a very Merry Christmas.
00:40:44.940 I also want to ask how a person may submit information and perhaps apply for a job at Rebel.
00:40:49.740 Or where a person may find job positions for positions your company requires.
00:40:53.900 I would love the opportunity to help speak the truth and report the other side of the news in any capacity.
00:40:58.380 Before Twitter kicked me off, we were following each other, Chris, Minister of Smart Arcery.
00:41:02.540 And you and Sheila retweeted me numerous times.
00:41:05.160 I was pretty effective hammering the media and politicians in a factual and humorous way.
00:41:09.380 I did that with an iPad.
00:41:11.620 With better resources, I know I could just destroy those people.
00:41:15.080 Anyway, a very Merry Christmas to you and all.
00:41:17.880 And please tell Sheila, Chris in Bonneville says hello.
00:41:21.240 Have a wonderful weekend, sir.
00:41:22.480 Chris Coyle.
00:41:24.380 Well, Chris, that's a great question.
00:41:27.460 We have a careers page on the Rebel News website.
00:41:30.880 I think it's rebelnews.com slash careers.
00:41:32.680 And we have some specific positions we're looking for.
00:41:39.600 For example, I'm really looking for someone to cover the Chinese political beat.
00:41:44.060 And what I mean by that is China's influence in Canada.
00:41:49.540 Now, I think that position, you have to be able to speak Chinese.
00:41:52.460 So it's going to probably be a Chinese-Canadian person because I want them to follow the Chinese
00:41:56.940 media in Canada because I believe we need to cover that beat because I believe the government
00:42:01.040 of China is operating within Canada politically.
00:42:03.840 So that's an example of a technical requirement for a job.
00:42:08.140 We have some other technical requirements.
00:42:09.980 Right now, we're looking for a director of development.
00:42:12.000 That's a fancy way of saying someone to help us grow our revenue for donations.
00:42:16.000 So without checking, I don't know what the positions are that are available, but here's
00:42:21.200 the advice I give to anyone who wants to work for us as a journalist.
00:42:25.860 The advice is, show me, don't tell me.
00:42:31.420 I should tell you that in our entire company, as far as I know, there's only one person who
00:42:36.280 graduated from journalism school, and that's David Menzies.
00:42:39.220 I certainly didn't.
00:42:40.260 I don't think Avi Yamini did.
00:42:41.940 I know that Sheila Gunn-Reed didn't.
00:42:44.040 We are true citizen journalists, so I don't need to see some degree from a J school.
00:42:51.600 In fact, frankly, if you have that, I'm worried that we've got to un-teach you some bad ideas.
00:42:59.380 You can do this simply by sending me a demo.
00:43:04.140 We're a video-based medium.
00:43:06.720 I'm guessing you've got a smartphone with a camera on it, so that's really the only tool
00:43:12.340 you need.
00:43:12.760 You know, use a selfie stick if you want.
00:43:14.600 Use a webcam if you want.
00:43:16.800 A lot of people say, Ezra, I know I could be a great journalist.
00:43:21.280 Well, you know that in your heart, but show me.
00:43:25.000 Make a video 60 seconds long minimum.
00:43:29.820 I wouldn't go longer than three minutes.
00:43:31.480 Do a video between one and three minutes long.
00:43:33.300 Don't worry about editing it.
00:43:35.760 Don't worry about production values.
00:43:38.340 I just want to see.
00:43:39.560 Here's what I'll see.
00:43:40.620 I'll see what you look like and sound like.
00:43:43.560 I'll see what topic you choose.
00:43:45.960 I'll see how you make the case.
00:43:47.820 I'll see your energy level.
00:43:50.200 I'll see if you're an independent thinker if you tell the other side of the story.
00:43:52.920 If you send me a two-minute video from your cell phone, that'll tell me more than any job
00:44:00.720 interview or any application will.
00:44:02.880 So that's what I tell people.
00:44:03.740 And I've got to tell you, 95% of the time, I never hear back from people.
00:44:09.660 Now, I'm not saying that's going to be your case, but I'm just saying.
00:44:12.780 Dear Santa Ezra, it may come as a surprise, but all I want for Christmas is neither my
00:44:17.200 two front teeth or things go back to the old pre-corona normal.
00:44:21.360 What I want for Christmas is a renewal of old values.
00:44:24.000 If this scandemic has revealed anything, it's the corruption and rot in all the systems and
00:44:29.200 institutions we once held dear.
00:44:31.120 I want to return to classical liberal values like freedom of expression, sovereignty of
00:44:34.940 the individual, equal opportunity, not outcome, integrity, not outcome, integrity, honesty.
00:44:41.240 I already had been thinking along these lines when I learned of Derek Sloan becoming the
00:44:44.740 new leader of the Ontario Party.
00:44:46.460 I'm still waiting to hear back from some contacts, but I can only imagine what they will say,
00:44:50.380 especially the Albertist separatists he had cozy up to.
00:44:53.440 Just one honestly here who has the integrity and fortitude to stick to what is right and have
00:44:58.220 a real vision for Canada.
00:44:59.520 That's what I want more than anything else.
00:45:00.880 Please bring that down my chimney, and I think all of Canada would be thrilled.
00:45:05.280 Jillian Davis, Ontario.
00:45:08.280 Again, I do not see a question in there.
00:45:10.520 It's called Ask Me Anything, but I'll, no problem.
00:45:14.600 I like Derek Sloan, but it is true.
00:45:17.100 He ran here, then he ran there, then he ran here.
00:45:19.520 And I think he's got to start building something and make a commitment to some place.
00:45:24.860 I like the guy.
00:45:25.500 I have to say I've never disagreed with him on policy.
00:45:27.320 My fret is that Ontario already has a lot of splittism, right?
00:45:34.500 You've got Randy Healier.
00:45:35.720 You've got Belinda Karahalios.
00:45:37.800 You've got Roman Baber.
00:45:39.020 You've got, I'm just, I'm not remembering all of them.
00:45:41.600 There's like about five different alternatives running off in all directions.
00:45:46.460 So I'm, I'm worried this is more splittism.
00:45:49.440 All right.
00:45:50.060 How are we doing for time?
00:45:53.560 Merry Christmas, Ezra, and thank you for all the quality content.
00:45:56.140 Now, I usually listen to the podcast while working, but my question for you, do you think
00:45:59.540 Canada will be ever, ever be the same post-pandemic and God willing post-Trudeau?
00:46:03.780 Because it's hard to see a future when both the liberals and conservatives look the same
00:46:06.620 in policy and action.
00:46:07.660 And as a young person, I always try to stay optimistic, but it's definitely no easy task
00:46:11.320 in the year 2021.
00:46:12.500 Signed, Lucas Weisbrot.
00:46:17.900 Look, no battle is truly ever lost because no battle is truly ever won.
00:46:24.980 And, you know, as Pope John Paul II said, where there's life, there's hope.
00:46:32.520 The Jews say l'chaim to life because where there's life, there's hope.
00:46:36.600 I think that's a very Old Testament idea too.
00:46:38.440 And sometimes you don't know that you're on the verge of a breakthrough.
00:46:47.440 You don't know.
00:46:48.720 Are we on a blip or a trend?
00:46:50.720 Or is the pendulum about to swing back?
00:46:53.180 I was very despondent about U.S. politics after November 2020.
00:46:58.700 And really for the next year.
00:47:00.160 But then I saw what happened in Virginia and Glenn Youngkin just creamed a Democrat Party
00:47:07.380 household name in a state that went plus 10 for Biden a year ago.
00:47:12.420 And it's for all the right reasons that the Republican ran.
00:47:15.820 And I look at Ron DeSantis and how he's doing.
00:47:18.560 And I look at how close the Republicans came to winning in New Jersey.
00:47:22.400 That was a plus 16 Biden state.
00:47:24.720 And I think, you know what, maybe the pendulum is going to swing back just a year from now.
00:47:33.520 And so there's hope there.
00:47:36.340 Now, that's an American system with Americans who love freedom, I think, more than many Canadians do.
00:47:41.460 But you see my point about, like, it looked pretty bleak a year ago.
00:47:45.440 And now it's just looking, frankly, polls suggest it's going to be the biggest wipeout for the Democrats in 40 years.
00:47:51.300 Here in Canada, I think we're missing courage.
00:47:55.380 Every single government party is the same on the lockdown.
00:48:00.060 But so is every single opposition, official opposition, whether you're a conservative, liberal, NDP.
00:48:05.540 I think the problem is that no one has shown the courage to be different.
00:48:09.580 And those few people in Erin O'Toole's caucus who dare to be different,
00:48:12.860 I think in Marilyn Gladue who talked about a freedom caucus,
00:48:16.280 she was threatened by Erin O'Toole and sort of forced to recant.
00:48:20.140 I think that Canada is more to the left than America, obviously.
00:48:25.880 But we don't even have a chance.
00:48:28.460 Our conservative leaders are completely identical to the liberals they claim to want to replace.
00:48:34.020 So I know that I'm not giving you any particular reasons for hope.
00:48:40.920 But I think sometimes the way America goes, Canada goes too.
00:48:46.200 Or we're affected by trends there.
00:48:47.840 And maybe if the Republicans sweep the midterm elections in 2022.
00:48:53.480 And right now, I think the mask mandate states, I think all but like 12 American states have gotten rid of their mask mandates.
00:49:00.520 And American courts are throwing out Biden's vax mandates.
00:49:03.700 Maybe if they get freer, maybe we'll get an echo of that.
00:49:09.820 I don't know.
00:49:10.700 Hopeful.
00:49:11.980 All right.
00:49:12.300 This is going to be my last letter, I think.
00:49:14.960 Ezra.
00:49:16.640 The world is a less depressing place because of you.
00:49:18.660 Again, there's no question here.
00:49:20.220 It's going to ask me everything.
00:49:21.340 It's hugely helpful to know that plenty of other people are just as horrified as I am by the direction the formerly free world is taking.
00:49:27.940 And Rebel News is the flagship of that fleet.
00:49:30.160 Since I excel at mutilating other people's poetry, I offer an updated version of an old carol.
00:49:34.760 I heard the bells on Christmas Day, a new oppressive carol play.
00:49:39.000 If you're unjabbed, then stay away.
00:49:41.220 No peace and no goodwill to men.
00:49:43.420 And in despair about my head, I cannot take your shot, I said.
00:49:46.640 Too many end up sick or dead, believing goodwill to men.
00:49:49.900 Then peel the bells more deep and loud.
00:49:51.900 Conform, comply, get with the crowd.
00:49:54.460 Or stay at home until you're cowed.
00:49:56.380 So much for peace, goodwill to men.
00:49:57.840 For some real encouragement, read the original words written during the American Civil War.
00:50:03.180 Fight the good fight, everyone, and a defiant Merry Christmas to all.
00:50:05.800 Ruth Bard, B.C.
00:50:08.540 Thank you, Ruth.
00:50:09.560 I say again, there was no question in there, but I take it in the Christmas spirit it was meant.
00:50:14.700 Well, listen, I mean, there's more letters in there, but I'm going to cork it at that.
00:50:21.080 It's nice to read your letters.
00:50:22.260 I would have liked some more actual questions, but it gave me a chance to talk about other things.
00:50:25.880 I went on at some length about the Ash and Milgram experiments, but they're very interesting, very telling.
00:50:32.220 It reminds me of what Jordan Peterson said when he was asked what the lesson of the Holocaust was,
00:50:37.360 what the lesson of the Second World War was.
00:50:39.260 And he said, the lesson is, the Nazis could have been you.
00:50:43.560 What would you really have done?
00:50:44.940 And he says, odds are, you would not have been the one dissident in the room.
00:50:48.400 Odds are, you would have gone along at least passively, and maybe some of you most actively,
00:50:54.000 that you are the Nazi, he said.
00:50:56.300 And he didn't mean it in an accusatory way.
00:50:58.460 He meant it in a, be honest, are you really the freedom-loving dissenter that you think you are?
00:51:04.680 And we've seen the measure of people.
00:51:06.520 I mean, for the longest time, you know, for two generations, people said,
00:51:11.840 well, I'll tell you what I would have done if I was in Nazi Germany in the 30s.
00:51:15.580 Well, you know, we now know what you would have done.
00:51:18.520 And I'm not equating the lockdowns with the death camps of Nazi Germany,
00:51:23.140 but I am equating the incremental diminution, diminution, how do you say that word,
00:51:30.020 of our freedoms with the way it was in Nazi Germany.
00:51:32.760 I said this the other day on the show.
00:51:36.100 Germany didn't go from Hitler taking power in 33 to the Holocaust overnight.
00:51:41.180 In fact, it actually took 10 years to get into the full thick of it.
00:51:47.280 It took two years to get to the Nuremberg Laws.
00:51:50.580 Kristallnacht, I think, was in 1938.
00:51:52.740 The invasion of Poland, 39.
00:51:55.000 September 39.
00:51:56.960 The Holocaust didn't really get started until 1940.
00:52:00.940 41.
00:52:01.600 I think 42, 43 was the depth of it.
00:52:04.760 44 in Hungary.
00:52:05.800 It took 10 years to get from a modern liberal democracy,
00:52:13.200 a thoughtful place where Jews were, you know, Albert Einstein.
00:52:16.580 That was his country.
00:52:17.400 I mean, all these leading minds.
00:52:19.380 It took 10 years.
00:52:21.940 And I'm not saying we're at the death camp stage.
00:52:24.220 I'm not going to say that.
00:52:25.300 That would be crazy.
00:52:27.060 But we're at the stage where parliament meets rarely,
00:52:30.200 where the media is restricted and Trudeau promises to do more,
00:52:33.580 where police are political errand boys now,
00:52:37.280 where they're not shy about roughing people up,
00:52:39.120 even women, even children,
00:52:41.200 where people are being segregated
00:52:44.180 and turning to second-class citizens
00:52:46.380 for reasons that were unacceptable short months ago,
00:52:50.040 where both the governing and opposing parties
00:52:53.720 are agreed on almost all items of importance,
00:52:57.220 where the courts rubber stamp these fiats without disagreement,
00:53:01.160 and where doctors are at the center of it.
00:53:03.280 Don't forget the key role that doctors played in Nazi Germany.
00:53:06.820 And if you've forgotten,
00:53:08.200 Google the Nuremberg trials, the doctors' trials.
00:53:12.660 It was the doctors of Nazi Germany
00:53:16.340 that conducted some of the most atrocious behavior
00:53:19.840 and that led to our modern medical ethics.
00:53:22.000 And so, I'm not saying we're in 1940s,
00:53:26.340 but I'm saying we're certainly past 1933.
00:53:31.500 In a way, we have our 1935 Nuremberg laws, in a way.
00:53:35.660 We're now starting to see ghettoization, like they had.
00:53:40.020 And I'm not saying we're going to go all the way,
00:53:42.540 but I'm saying they didn't go all the way
00:53:43.900 in Nazi Germany overnight.
00:53:45.260 And it's important that we stand and fight while we can.
00:53:53.700 Anyways, a lot of thoughtful letters in there,
00:53:55.420 and I appreciate your kind words.
00:53:56.720 I'm joking around when I say,
00:53:57.960 where are the questions, although I would have enjoyed it.
00:54:00.320 I'm going to wrap things up there.
00:54:01.860 It's Christmas Eve.
00:54:03.300 I want to say Merry Christmas to you
00:54:05.680 and to my Jewish friends.
00:54:06.920 Happy Hanukkah.
00:54:08.160 Happy Kwanzaa to those who participate.
00:54:11.060 And, of course, Festivus,
00:54:12.140 being one of the most interesting rituals around.
00:54:16.340 I'm joking around.
00:54:17.600 It's great to have you with us.
00:54:18.920 I really appreciate your support through the year.
00:54:21.460 Until next time,
00:54:22.560 on behalf of all of us here
00:54:23.800 at Rubble World Headquarters,
00:54:24.980 to you at home,
00:54:26.180 good night,
00:54:27.340 and keep fighting for freedom.
00:54:28.400 Thank you.
