Oh, hey, Rebels. I bet you're expecting Ezra Levant's melodious voice, but no, it's me, Sheila Gunn-Reed. I'm filling in for the big boss man tonight as he's away.
00:00:11.060
Tonight, we are talking to Rebel News reporter Jeremy Lafredo about his petition to support an Amish Pennsylvania farmer in his battle against the federal government for the crime of selling his produce to willing consumers.
00:00:24.500
I know, it's a crime, apparently, according to the American government.
00:00:29.980
And then I am in my monologue tonight explaining why I think some of these internet COVID cults are a direct response to the absolute madness of the politicians and their restrictions over the last two and a half years.
00:00:52.220

00:01:54.380
Politicians have created a Frankenstein monster.
00:02:16.800
They're monsters running through the village, frightening all the townspeople.
00:02:20.100
And reporter Jeremy Lafredo joins me to discuss the American government's war on an Amish farmer in Pennsylvania.
00:02:30.020
I'm Sheila Gunn-Reed, but you are watching The Ezra Levant Show.
00:02:39.740
You know, I've given a lot of thought about why the trucker convoy happened at all.
00:02:53.720
Why did these normal people and often blue-collar people from all across the country with obvious other things to do decide to take a month of their lives at great personal cost to go to Ottawa to protest the federal government?
00:03:06.820
Now, the more I think about coming up with a complex answer to all of this, the answer is so simple.
00:03:15.260
It's because somebody had to do something and nobody else was.
00:03:19.460
And frankly, I think I'm simplifying that a little bit, too, when I say nobody else was.
00:03:23.380
Our friends at the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms have been fighting against lockdown restrictions from the very beginning.
00:03:30.420
They've been acutely attuned to just how the government has been using the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic to give more and more power and more and more control to itself.
00:03:40.600
Likewise, with our friends at the Democracy Fund, they've been helping so many people through the Fight the Fines initiative, helping people fight their lockdown tickets in court at no cost to them through your generous crowdfunded donations.
00:03:52.860
And they've also been bringing strategic litigation against the federal government throughout the course of the pandemic about COVID jails, vaccine passports.
00:04:02.960
And now they are interveners in the Emergencies Act Commission.
00:04:06.840
And we know people are out there protesting every single week.
00:04:09.920
So I'm not entirely accurate when I say that nobody has been doing anything.
00:04:13.000
But the people whose jobs it is to protect our civil liberties, well, there were tumbleweeds blowing through the spots where they should have been standing these last two and a half years, right?
00:04:25.140
The politicians whose job it is to make sure that they don't draft rules and regulations that just stomp all over the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
00:04:35.320
They disregarded the Charter of Rights and Freedoms to grant themselves more and more power and inject themselves into every single aspect of our lives.
00:04:43.460
They told us who we could have in our homes, where we could travel, who could sell us a burger, and how many people would be with us when we buried our dead.
00:04:53.820
Academia disregarded evolving science to enforce political solutions.
00:04:58.400
People who had spent their entire academic careers examining ethics when challenged with an ethical dilemma failed to rise to the test.
00:05:07.160
Courts were no longer considering the Constitution and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which should guide all judicial decisions.
00:05:14.300
And they ruled against people who were exercising their Charter-protected rights of expression, religious freedom, and association.
00:05:20.820
The media, which is supposed to have a job that speaks truth to power and holds politicians to account, were holding the people to account instead.
00:05:28.400
They were cheerleading the politicians and attacking those who differed from the official government narrative.
00:05:34.380
Our employers, well, maybe yours, but not mine.
00:05:36.620
They didn't care about how hard we worked or how often we showed up.
00:05:40.320
They only cared about what medicines we stuck in our bodies as a term of our employment, changing our contracts after the fact.
00:05:46.600
The police, who we thought were out there to protect our communities and protect our civil liberties, were the ones clubbing us for peacefully protesting.
00:05:54.660
People were banned from traveling, banned from church, banned from meeting, banned from eating inside, banned from their friends and family's houses, isolated and alienated, banned from their jobs, banned from medical treatment.
00:06:08.040
Politicians, maybe even the ones you voted for, called you names and accused you of thinking or being horrific things.
00:06:15.880
People who think I am involved in a global conspiracy to traffic children, literally, literally showing up to vote on a global life.
00:06:38.600
Preston Manning used to say that a bright light attracts a few bugs.
00:06:41.400
Well, there's more than a few bugs attracted to us, this party right now, because of COVID and other anger.
00:06:48.340
But generally, these are, I'm just going to tell you guys, I don't say this stuff, these are just kooky people, generally.
00:06:54.540
I mean, all of that noise on social media, all the chatter, the lunatics are trying to take over the asylum.
00:06:59.780
And I'm not going to let them, I will not let that happen, I will not let this mainstream Conservative Party become an agent for extreme hateful, intolerant, bigoted and crazy views.
00:07:16.780
These marginal voices do not represent Albertans, they certainly do not represent the United Conservative Party.
00:07:24.440
If you don't want to get vaccinated, that's your choice. But don't think you can get on a plane or a train besides vaccinated people and put them at risk.
00:07:34.000
00:08:03.460
We have, you know, a bunch of yahoos out in the front of Queen's Park, sitting there protesting that the place isn't open.
00:08:11.780
As they're breaking the law and putting everyone in jeopardy.
00:08:15.180
And if you question anything that was happening to you, in a public way, maybe on social media,
00:08:22.760
Politicians ignored the cries of the people as the people spiraled into despair and fear.
00:08:28.120
Politicians created extreme isolation and a sense that the times were just so crazy that they couldn't even be real at all.
00:08:34.700
So is it any wonder, in the midst of all of this madness, that an internet cult arose?
00:08:39.460
Frankly, I'm surprised it took so long when you think about the conditions that cults need.
00:08:44.020
Cults require isolation to increase indoctrination,
00:08:46.460
well, the politicians already did that to the people through their mandates, didn't they?
00:08:50.980
And cults, well, they need people to cut off communication with their friends and family.
00:08:56.400
And if the politicians didn't already do that, well, no worry, big tech certainly did.
00:09:01.360
Cults offer secret knowledge, a solution only they have to an insurmountable societal problem before you.
00:09:10.640
Now, every cult exists in the ethos of its time.
00:09:13.940
The Manson family thrived in the hedonistic, free-love, hippie culture of sex and drugs.
00:09:21.060
The cult of Queen Romana exists in the ethos of our time here in Canada.
00:09:26.220
Where people charged with upholding the law, are they themselves so lawless and the law so toothless
00:09:30.880
that Romana's laws, explanations and excuses seem reasonable to the most desperate amongst us?
00:09:39.800
I've been watching her out of the corner of my eye for about the last year.
00:09:43.540
I know my friend, Andrew Chapados, has done an extensive report on her in the past.
00:09:48.500
She claims to be the Queen of Canada, get this, after the Queen of England was executed
00:09:52.720
and then Romana was installed as the secret queen of our country by the American military.
00:10:00.160
Romana's amassed quite a group of followers online, including on her Telegram channel,
00:10:04.500
because she's basically been booted off every other social media platform, creating exclusivity.
00:10:11.500
She's the queen of the latest incarnation of QAnon and she tries to attach herself to the freedom movement
00:10:18.280
They see which way the wind is blowing and then they go in that direction as well.
00:10:23.320
Now, if I recall correctly, and I think I am, Romana's followers even raised about 60,000 bucks
00:10:29.260
for her to buy a used RV to drive across Canada, which is, I guess, her dominion now,
00:10:37.540
Now, all of this brings me to Peterborough Mayor Diane Tyrion.
00:10:41.600
I'll get to her in a second, but we need to talk a little bit more about crazy Queen Romana
00:10:49.240
A couple of days ago, some people, upon the direction of Queen Romana,
00:10:53.780
decided to go to the local Peterborough police station
00:10:56.340
and perform citizen's arrests on local police officers there.
00:11:00.060
It's one of those things Queen Romana tells her followers to do,
00:11:05.040
because even she knows deep in her heart that she's not the Queen of Canada
00:11:09.120
and if she did the things that she says her followers should do, she would be arrested.
00:11:13.020
Although she's perfectly fine to sit in her mini-winnie and watch other people do it.
00:11:16.980
Anyway, as expected, the citizens' arrests on behalf of Queen Romana,
00:11:20.900
well, they didn't go well, and ultimately the people involved were charged.
00:11:24.560
And Queen Romana, she receded into her RV like a QAnon Charles Manson
00:11:28.900
without all the charismatic, manic energy inspiring her cult followers to do that,
00:11:35.840
And Peterborough mayor, Diane Tyrion, well, she took to Twitter to call those involved FWADs.
00:11:41.780
Now, let's just set aside how ridiculously unprofessional that is for a second,
00:11:48.720
Tyrion drove these people into the arms of Queen Romana.
00:11:52.740
Times are so crazy, and people are so disoriented,
00:11:56.300
that for some, what Queen Romana says seems normal.
00:12:03.180
especially the politicians, is providing anything.
00:12:05.840
Now, instead of stopping and taking a moment of introspection to think about
00:12:09.840
their role in driving people into the arms of this madwoman,
00:12:14.080
the politicians only have what they've always had for desperate people,
00:12:20.520
Queen Romana is the Frankenstein monster created by our politicians
00:12:26.620
And now, the politicians are shocked because their Frankenstein monster
00:12:30.820
is stomping all over the town, scaring the villagers.
00:12:36.260
They own Queen Romana, but just like Queen Romana,
00:12:42.820
Jeremy Lafredo joins us after the break to discuss
00:12:45.600
the government crackdown on an Amish farmer in Pennsylvania
00:13:03.500
Sometimes politicians leave a void where crazy people can step into,
00:13:08.500
but sometimes government just flows into every aspect of your life
00:13:13.000
where there is no space between you and the government.
00:13:16.620
And that creates conflict, pain, strife, and sometimes financial hardship.
00:13:22.240
And joining me now is Rebel News reporter Jeremy Lafredo.
00:13:26.180
And he's going to bring us the story of a Pennsylvania Amish farmer
00:13:34.040
has been butting up against the government for a very long time.
00:13:40.300
Give us the backstory of this one prickly, I guess, Pennsylvania Amish farmer.
00:13:50.020
but I guess difficult times make difficult people.
00:13:55.220
There's this farmer in Bird in Hand, Pennsylvania.
00:13:59.260
And, you know, it's a very old Amish village in central Pennsylvania,
00:14:03.700
pretty remote, kind of far from everything else.
00:14:36.880
And he has a private buyer's club of about 4,000 people
00:14:40.340
all across the country that pay him top dollar for his food.
00:14:45.940
And the government doesn't like this idea of a private buyer's club.
00:14:51.620
They have raided his farm with armed federal agents.
00:14:56.380
And they have said he needs to stop selling his meat
00:15:00.600
until he gets regulated by the federal agencies
00:15:10.080
And he says, you know, the way you guys regulate it,
00:15:25.100
So I think if going through your regulatory process
00:15:34.120
So they are fining him hundreds of thousands of dollars.
00:15:38.040
And they've actually sent armed federal agents there
00:15:40.280
to take inventory of his meat and of his dairy.
00:15:43.740
And they visit him to make sure that he's not selling anything
00:15:47.340
and that he's not ramping up his production in any way.
00:15:53.680
He's figuring out how to fight the federal government,
00:15:58.140
And, you know, he's been put in this really tight spot
00:16:00.420
along with the people who, you know, look to him for this food.
00:16:06.040
They're not getting their meat and dairy right now
00:16:11.120
You know, this is crazy because it sounds like he's farming
00:16:15.300
exactly how the way the government would like the rest of us farmers to farm.
00:16:20.280
No fertilizer, no gasoline, no diesel, no electricity,
00:16:26.440
He's doing exactly what the World Economic Forum
00:16:39.020
And what you've described, I think, would be a cooperative
00:16:45.760
He's not selling anything into the food supply sneakily, right?
00:16:51.440
Like, I think that's where you would think that regulators would get upset
00:16:56.160
where, you know, this certain kind of food is ending up in the food supply
00:17:05.000
But people are actually seeking him out specifically
00:17:07.620
because of the way he purchases it or the way he produces it.
00:17:14.620
So, you know, nobody is involved in this unwittingly or unwillingly.
00:17:26.040
These people who are part of this, you know, private buyers club,
00:17:31.920
You know, they pay money to be part of this club
00:17:34.120
specifically because his food is prepared in the way it's prepared.
00:17:39.140
You know, it's not like they are paying for a certain product
00:17:42.120
and they are unknowingly getting food that's not inspected
00:17:48.740
And it's not, you know, snuck into the food supply.
00:17:51.160
Like you said, you know, you can't go to the store.
00:17:53.500
You're not, you're not, it's not getting shipped to places
00:17:56.140
that you aren't aware that this is the food that it is.
00:18:03.700
He's saying, you know, this food is not, you don't have to worry about it.
00:18:07.880
It's not ending up in any supply chain uninspected.
00:18:10.220
This is exactly what people are seeking me out for.
00:18:16.380
Yeah, I think everybody involved in this is consenting to the transaction.
00:18:19.680
And so you say they sent armed guards or armed officials to inspect his farms.
00:18:30.980
I know a thing or two about our Anabaptist friends where I am.
00:18:35.920
We do have a large quantity of Mennonites where I am, but also Hutterites too.
00:18:46.680
And so to turn up at a pacifist farm with armed sheriffs, marshals to,
00:18:55.820
I mean, surely he would have just allowed them on his property because he's a pacifist.
00:19:05.800
It just speaks to how upset the government gets when you try to do things independently,
00:19:14.760
They will show you they have guns and you don't have guns.
00:19:20.920
It was, you know, why do you need guns to take a inventory of meat and dairy?
00:19:26.820
This is not something you need firearms for, but, you know, it didn't stop them from bringing
00:19:33.540
And again, they pulled up, you know, in these giant SUVs, guns, bulletproof vests, like,
00:19:37.940
you know, these are people who have horses and don't have any guns.
00:19:41.100
So it really is just to show them what they're capable of rather than something that is actually
00:19:50.020
Yeah, it speaks to the government participating in community-wide intimidation where, you know,
00:19:55.940
this might be this one farmer's farm, but don't the rest of you get any cute ideas about
00:20:03.420
replicating what's happening here on this farm.
00:20:07.560
These small, cloistered, closed communities, word travels fast.
00:20:11.740
If the police raid a farm in an Amish community, it sure spreads like wildfire through the Amish
00:20:18.020
And I think it serves to tell everybody else, you know what, you better tow the line, too,
00:20:21.400
because you don't want to end up like this guy.
00:20:27.480
There's tons of other organic, you know, farms, independent farms in the U.S. that aren't
00:20:32.740
beholden to, you know, federal subsidies or, you know, big corporations, chemicals.
00:20:38.540
And they hear this story and they think, you know, wow, they brought armed guards to these
00:20:45.000
And these people, you know, let it be known, these people do have guns and do have SUVs.
00:20:50.880
So it's less for the Amish people and more for anyone else who in the country who hears
00:21:02.120
That's at least the way the way I see it and the way a lot of people see it.
00:21:06.580
You know, and farmers trying to sell their goods and services to willing participants.
00:21:11.060
And the moral of the story is, if you do try to cut the government out of the equation,
00:21:17.120
they're going to show up on your doorstep with guns.
00:21:21.880
I mean, this is sort of just, again, coming to a head in this community.
00:21:26.880
But this has been an ongoing, percolating dispute, I think, between this farmer and
00:21:35.840
A couple of years ago, they tried to shut him down using similar logic, and he did not
00:21:44.020
And they actually took a sample of his milk and said that they found a similar bacteria
00:21:49.860
in his milk that was biologically similar, which is the term they used, to a listeria
00:21:56.520
sample that they took from someone who died of listeria in Florida.
00:22:07.860
And so they're really pulling all of the strings, and they're trying to throw everything at the
00:22:21.880
Whatever they can come up with, the federal government, they're using to try to get this
00:22:26.800
And even the family came out, who supposedly, the mother supposedly died of listeria.
00:22:32.760
The family came out and said she died of cancer.
00:22:35.140
And we don't like that the government is using our mother as a way to try to shut this farm
00:22:43.080
We appreciated all of his food and all of his work, and we don't think that his food led
00:22:48.040
to our mother, who had leukemia, led to her death.
00:22:52.840
And they've kind of been locking horns for a good while.
00:22:57.040
And locking horns, that's impressive when you consider it's a small farm and the entire
00:23:04.820
So we're just at the latest dispute between the two.
00:23:10.780
And who knows where it's going to go from here?
00:23:12.580
You know, it's a weird phrase for them to use, biologically similar, because that doesn't
00:23:19.940
As you know, humans are biologically similar to gorillas, but I'm not a gorilla.
00:23:26.040
And I think this is sort of, it goes to the moral of the story of the last two years, where
00:23:31.620
if you were someone who was sort of self-sustaining, or if you didn't look to the government as
00:23:38.100
your solution, your protector, and your permitter, then you were quickly smashed down.
00:23:47.120
We saw it in Canada with our pastors, with our businesses that tried to reopen.
00:23:51.500
But it happened during the coronavirus pandemic, but it has always been a theme.
00:23:56.380
If you are one of those self-sustaining people who doesn't think that the government needs
00:24:02.100
to be involved in every aspect of your lives, that's when the government decides to get involved
00:24:06.500
with you, as we can see in this Amish community.
00:24:09.980
Now, Jeremy, you are advocating for this farmer as best you can.
00:24:15.360
Now, you've been very respectful because these cloistered Amish communities, they don't often
00:24:20.360
welcome the TV cameras, and they don't always want to be filmed.
00:24:24.980
So you've been respectful in your dealings with this community.
00:24:32.740
So right now, we're collecting signatures for a petition to leave Amos Miller alone and
00:24:39.300
let his farm sell his food through his private buyer's club, as he's been doing successfully
00:24:51.840
And if you sign the petition there and we get enough signatures, I'm going to bring
00:24:55.320
it personally to the Eastern District Court of Pennsylvania, where the federal government
00:25:03.960
And you can sign the petition at leavethemalone.com.
00:25:09.360
If we get enough, hopefully we can help Amos out.
00:25:11.820
Well, Jeremy, I sure appreciate the work that you're doing to advocate for this farmer.
00:25:17.840
And I also think the government should stay ahead of our lives.
00:25:21.560
So I really appreciate the work that you're doing.
00:25:23.640
And I also appreciate the care with which you're treating this story, respecting their
00:25:28.560
traditions while trying to tell their story to a broader audience.
00:26:08.420
Ezra refers to Ezra's interview the other day with James Lindsay on the sexualization
00:26:19.540
Evan Duquette writes, James Lindsay is the guy who can explain where all this weirdness
00:26:26.760
The fact that they banned him from Twitter proves how important he is.
00:26:30.600
It's not just that they banned James Lindsay from Twitter, although he puts a very public
00:26:38.780
Twitter and social media is enforcing the normalization of sexualization of our kids.
00:26:51.040
If you use the word OK groomer to describe grooming children, you will be banned.
00:26:59.940
And, you know, the idea that they are doing this under the excuse that they say it's attacking
00:27:06.220
LGBTQ people, I think is inherently homophobic because it presumes that LGBTQ people are OK with
00:27:21.780
I think groomers are OK with grooming children.
00:27:24.040
And I think whether, you know, whether you were taking kids to a heterosexual strip club
00:27:30.600
or a drag show, I think that is grooming no matter how you look at it.
00:27:34.700
And there are a lot of people on both sides who are and continue to be outraged by this,
00:27:40.120
but are silenced by big tech, who I think are probably protecting predators in their midst.
00:27:48.100
Woofious on the same issue writes, speaking of children being preyed upon, don't forget
00:28:00.680
It was from Calgary and it was just a few short months ago.
00:28:05.140
Michael Gregory, a teacher, admitted he abused students in 2006, but the Teachers Association,
00:28:13.680
that's the teachers union here in Alberta, never reported it to police.
00:28:19.040
The Alberta Teachers Association investigators are under no obligation to report criminal behavior
00:28:27.740
So if the teachers union becomes aware of a molester in their midst, they don't have an
00:28:42.460
This information all came to light in the middle of a $40 million proposed class action lawsuit
00:28:48.960
that was filed against the estate of the accused individual and the Calgary Board of Education
00:28:54.820
by three plaintiffs who say they were victims of the teacher's abusive behavior.
00:28:59.480
Gregory worked at John Ware Junior High in 1986 to 2006 as a math, science, and outdoor education
00:29:08.640
And that last one gives me chills because outdoor education teachers frequently take young people
00:29:16.160
And the teachers union, they knew of the complaints.
00:29:20.760
And our last letter tonight comes to us by way of Andre Corbet, who writes, why are there
00:29:27.140
so many Trudeau cronies guilty of the same offenses?
00:29:31.880
I don't know if it's Trudeau cronies or just liberals in general or progressives in general,
00:29:38.140
You know, just look at how many people in Hollywood knew about the crimes of Weinstein, but did nothing
00:29:46.380
to protect themselves and to further their own careers, or how many women were willing to submit
00:29:52.840
to Weinstein's aggressive come-ons if it meant that their career would move forward.
00:30:04.740
That includes the Clintons, Oprah Winfrey's in the mix there, and the Clintons, you know,
00:30:10.440
they were traveling in the same circles as Epstein, and we still don't know who was in Epstein's
00:30:18.960
So there's a lot of people still protecting themselves.
00:30:23.220
And, you know, when people are all involved in the same thing, then everybody keeps their
00:30:27.900
mouth shut because once the band-aid rips off, then everybody's in trouble.
00:30:37.340
Thank you to everybody in the HQ in Toronto and across the country who all work hard behind
00:30:47.660
Thanks to the boss for trusting me to fill in for him tonight.
00:30:50.580
And as Ezra always says, keep fighting for freedom.
00:30:56.840
I know that I used to, but that was when kids could be kids and not sexualized and not poison
00:31:01.240
with adult issues or in constant confusion about what gender they aren't or aren't.
00:31:05.340
How about when these events, which are all allegedly age-appropriate, are funded by taxpayer dollars,
00:31:11.700
your dollars, to introduce little ones into what I'm terming the transgender.
00:31:18.800
Over the last few months, I've done some undercover work to help actually expose the real intention
00:31:23.380
of this child grooming group of either wicked or misinformed individuals.
00:31:29.900
I'd like to remind the audience that we only have access to this data through your generous donations
00:31:33.680
to our Access to Information Filing Fund at rebelinvestigates.com.
00:31:38.280
Visit there to donate more and help keep this important work possible.
00:31:41.880
Speaking of the truth, not only did the city of Calgary spend over $71,275 total on this traveling circus spend.
00:31:50.740
Pumpkin, said Daddy, you know that when I get dressed up as Miss Rita, it's just the same
00:32:02.120
Lawyers have suits, doctors have lab coats, and I have wigs and beads and glittery cakes.
00:32:09.580
But the event itself came under budget by about $9,000, as their expenditures on progressive
00:32:15.580
gender-raised books and tools of imagination did not exceed that budget set.
00:32:22.020
The letter I wrote down as a treaty seven, um, relationship we all have to get.
00:32:28.360
And it goes, today we acknowledge our treaty seven friends.
00:32:41.980
I'm all for tolerance and being left alone to live your life, but it's not what this
00:32:51.220
And the psychological effects of injecting a child's mind with these extreme woke leftist
00:32:55.720
ideologies is a very dangerous thing that we see taking place in our society.
00:32:59.560
And while some parents might think that these drag readings are innocent, it's all love,
00:33:03.460
it's all about inclusiveness, really I would have to disagree.
00:33:06.780
If you wouldn't bring your child to a hetero strip club where women expose themselves in
00:33:11.300
a similar manner, what is the difference between doing it in that fashion or in front
00:33:16.220
of a man with 10 pounds of makeup on and a wig, more or less shaking his junk in front
00:33:22.960
I think that most of us have seen the videos that have come in from the U.S. where there
00:33:27.440
are children under the age of 18 sticking dollar bills into the thongs of men.
00:33:35.940
We'll have to follow along with the story to see just where that money went.
00:33:39.300
But for now, I would like to thank you so much for tuning in.
