Hello, my friends. I'd like to invite you to become a subscriber to what we call Rebel News Plus.
00:00:04.420
It's the video version of this podcast. I think it's especially important in this story.
00:00:09.120
It's a visual story. You have to see the police in their camouflage, in their what Trudeau would call assault rifles,
00:00:16.120
in their armored vehicles, pushing at peaceful protesters. You need to see it with your own eyes.

Tonight, the police cancel parliament and enforce Trudeau's violent end to a peaceful protest.
00:00:39.820
It's February 18th, and this is the Ezra LeVant Show.
00:00:44.820
Why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon consumer I know?
00:00:48.580
There's 8,500 customers here, and you won't give them an answer.
00:00:52.220
The only thing I have to say to the government of a wire publisher is because it's my bloody right to do so.
00:01:04.180
Today was going to be part two of my monologue from yesterday about how Trudeau had promoted Canada's most abusive,
00:01:12.660
dirtiest cop, Bill Blair, who oversaw the G20 policing disaster in Toronto
00:01:19.220
to enforce his crackdown on the peaceful trucker convoy in Ottawa.
00:01:24.960
I honestly thought we'd have time to do a deep dive like that,
00:01:28.740
given that parliament was still debating the Emergencies Act.
00:01:32.060
My thinking was the truckers have been there in Ottawa for three weeks.
00:01:40.900
They've been complying with the court order not to honk their horns, for example.
00:01:45.780
They've opened up a path on every main road, including Wellington Street,
00:01:54.500
I thought that, well, Trudeau has invoked the Emergencies Act as his legal tool.
00:02:01.040
That requires a ratification in a parliamentary debate and vote.
00:02:09.820
Surely he'll just wait a couple more days to go through the motions of the Emergencies Act.
00:02:14.540
I mean, if you're going to act without the Emergencies Act, why bother invoking it at all?
00:02:23.320
I should have known Trudeau doesn't actually care about the law.
00:02:28.280
It's like when he was convicted of violating the Conflict of Interest Act.
00:02:33.160
I remember when he, for example, took a $100,000 secret vacation bribe in the Bahamas from the Aga Khan.
00:02:39.760
He just shrugged it off and said it was a great learning opportunity for other Canadians.
00:02:44.060
And then he went ahead and broke the law again.
00:02:47.100
Or a more personal story, when he tried to ban our Rebel News reporters from the leaders' debates
00:02:55.640
And Trudeau said, hours after a court had ruled that we are indeed, obviously, reporters,
00:03:00.600
he simply said he couldn't care what a court said.
00:03:03.580
We are not reporters to him to heck with the court.
00:03:09.220
00:03:56.600
The only reason that I'm allowed to ask you this question is because today the federal court ruled
00:04:03.480
that the government doesn't have the right to determine who is or is not a journalist.
00:04:08.280
This is the second election in a row that the court had to overturn your government.
00:04:13.360
Do you still insist on being able to make that decision and why?
00:04:17.040
First of all, questions around accreditation were handled by the press gallery
00:04:23.700
and the consortium of networks who have strong perspectives on quality journalism
00:04:30.360
and the important information that is shared with Canadians.
00:04:34.200
The reality is organizations like yours that continue to spread misinformation and disinformation
00:04:46.500
on the science around vaccines, around how we're going to actually get through this pandemic
00:04:54.020
and be there for each other and keep our kids safe is part of why we're seeing such unfortunate anger
00:05:07.060
And quite frankly, your, I won't call it a media organization,
00:05:11.520
your group of individuals need to take accountability for some of the polarization that we're seeing in this country.
00:05:21.720
And I think Canadians are cluing into the fact that there is a really important decision we take
00:05:31.160
And I salute all extraordinary, hardworking journalists that put science and facts at the heart of what they do
00:05:38.760
and ask me tough questions every day, but make sure that they are educating and informing Canadians
00:05:46.520
from a broad range of perspectives, which is the last thing that you guys do.
00:05:51.260
You see my point, he regards himself as above the law, like his father figure Castro.
00:05:56.980
So why would he wait until the emergencies act was debated and voted on?
00:06:02.520
They fired the Ottawa police chief the other day.
00:06:08.540
He wasn't prepared to get violent against peaceful protesters.
00:06:12.440
So they found a cop dirty enough to do whatever Trudeau tells him to do.
00:06:18.780
I mean, promise a guy a promotion, promise him legal immunity from his misconduct.
00:06:22.780
I mean, many of the good cops have left the force, either being fired or they removed themselves
00:06:28.040
for not going along with the past two years of bullying.
00:06:33.260
He'll do whatever he needs to do, like canceling Parliament.
00:06:38.220
Like I say, the police raids today did not wait until Parliament was done debating.
00:06:47.300
I mean, the decision making is being done by the police now.
00:06:55.920
Last night, they started arresting trucker leaders.
00:06:58.940
In this case, Tamara Litch, the young Métis woman who got the convoy going in the first place.
00:07:04.020
So peaceful protest leaders just arrested on the streets, swooped up, picked up by police cars
00:07:12.280
And then this morning, the Ottawa police, just assuming their role as the unchecked dictators
00:07:16.400
of Canada, no peaceful protesters allowed at all.
00:07:24.540
I mean, it's best if you just trust the police to tell you about the police.
00:07:28.220
After all, if you don't need Parliament and you don't need protesters, why do you need journalists?
00:09:40.240
You can tell who's aggressive! Who's the one that's aggressive?
00:12:21.580
So like I said yesterday, Trudeau's hatchet man is the dirtiest cop in Canada.
00:12:25.580
My story today was going to be a premonition about what Bill Blair would do,
00:12:29.580
but it happened before I could finish telling you the story.
00:12:38.580
Toronto police pay $16.5 million to protesters wrongfully held at 2010 G20 summit.
00:12:46.580
This article is a few years old. Let me read it to you.
00:12:49.580
Payments to receive up to $24,700 in historic settlement.
00:12:53.580
Police encircled 1,100 people and carried out mass arrests.
00:13:00.580
About 1,100 protesters who were wrongfully detained at the 2010 G20 summit in Toronto
00:13:05.580
will receive compensation from the city's police force
00:13:08.580
after a historic $16.5 million settlement in a class action lawsuit.
00:13:14.580
Under the settlement, which was announced late on Monday,
00:13:18.580
each claimant will receive between $5,000 and $24,700.
00:13:24.580
they will also have their G20 protest related records expunged.
00:13:29.580
Thousands of protesters traveled to downtown Toronto to protest against the convening of the G20 summit.
00:13:34.580
The causes were numerous anti-globalization, anti-poverty, pro-environment, pro-gay rights,
00:13:39.580
and the protests leading up to the Jan 26, 27 June summit were peaceful.
00:13:44.580
OK, now can you spot the difference? Here it is.
00:13:48.580
During the summit, however, police cars were set on fire
00:13:53.580
and a small band of masked protesters incited vandalism and violence.
00:13:58.580
In three weeks of peaceful protest in Ottawa, there has not been a single police car set on fire, has there?
00:14:03.580
No violence at all? Has there been? Of course not.
00:14:07.580
But the police responded by encircling more than 1,000 people,
00:14:11.580
including peaceful protesters, onlookers, and journalists at various locations
00:14:17.580
At one point, hundreds were kettled in a torrential downpour
00:14:22.580
Video footage at the time also showed officers using excessive force, tear gas, pepper spray,
00:14:29.580
At the makeshift detention center, detainees were strip searched.
00:14:32.580
In 2014, Vice reported that the police trained surveillance cameras
00:14:40.580
Ottawa court judges later found that the police's actions contravene the protesters' civil rights,
00:14:45.580
specifically their charter rights to expression and peaceful assembly.
00:14:49.580
So humiliating people by strip searching them and filming it.
00:14:55.580
How could a police chief who did that ever have a job again?
00:15:01.580
Well, precisely because he did that, because a tyrant can count on such a man
00:15:08.580
to do whatever needs to be done to crush Trudeau's opponents without any compunction,
00:15:12.580
without any regard to the law or conscience or ethics or morality.
00:15:15.580
Being a corrupt, dirty cop is exactly why Bill Blair was chosen by Trudeau to handle the truckers.
00:15:30.580
Breaking Ottawa police are boxing in protesters and executing mass arrests.
00:15:35.580
Once again, escalating the situation and not allowing people to leave in peace.
00:15:41.580
They're going from truck to truck with heavy weapons,
00:15:44.580
treating, training violence on men, women and children, threatening them with guns.
00:15:50.580
And the media are pushed back and really is straight out of a police state.
00:15:56.580
These are technically police forces, but they have military style uniforms, military style weapons,
00:16:02.580
armored vehicles and what Trudeau would call assault rifles to be used against whom, by the way.
00:16:10.580
Now, I'm recording this in the late afternoon, which is when I record my show.
00:16:13.580
And by the time it airs at 8 p.m., who knows what you'll be seeing or if you'll be seeing anything at all.
00:16:19.580
They have repeatedly threatened to arrest our reporters and others, too.
00:16:22.580
I have encouraged our people not to be arrested.
00:16:25.580
We don't want to be arrested, but neither will we be shooed away by some Nazi style thugs.
00:16:30.580
Sorry if that language hurts your feelings to hear me say it for 50 years.
00:16:37.580
I know there are exceptions, but I saw thousands of cops using the I'm just following the orders excuse today.
00:16:43.580
That excuse didn't work for the real Nazis and it shouldn't work for Trudeau's cop thugs.
00:16:48.580
I showed you the other day the definition in the CSIS Act of a threat to Canada necessary for the Emergencies Act to be operational threats to the security of Canada.
00:17:00.580
I went through the four tests, but look at the end does not include lawful advocacy, protest or dissent.
00:17:07.580
There is no real threat, no espionage, no serious violence, no violence at all.
00:17:12.580
Those are the threats that are contemplated in the Emergencies Act.
00:17:15.580
But police are banning MPs, journalists, peaceful protesters.
00:17:19.580
Shame on the Conservative Party for rolling over so quietly as they always do the cowards.
00:17:28.580
Always when I assume Trudeau has some sort of internal limit on how far he will go.
00:17:39.580
No other politician, either in government or opposition.
00:17:50.580
Apparently they need to be less heavy handed in dealing with political dissent.
00:17:54.580
But imagine tweeting that literally as Canada suspends Parliament and suspends the right to protest,
00:18:00.580
suspends all civil liberties, but never suspends our endless reservoir of smug satisfaction with ourselves to lecture others.
00:18:06.580
Say, where are foreign leaders speaking out against our civil liberties?
00:18:11.580
I haven't seen any, but again, why should they speak out for us if we don't speak out for ourselves?
00:18:17.580
The Canadian media is almost uniformly, maybe five exceptions out of a thousand reporters, not only cheering on the paramilitaries, but they actually demanded the crackdown to begin with.
00:18:37.580
There's been no violence from these truckers, not from the time they arrived to this very moment.
00:18:41.580
The violence being deployed is against them by the establishment with the full support of the establishment.
00:18:53.580
Canadians no longer can claim that we are a nice place, a safer place than America, a place of civil liberties, a place of stability.
00:19:02.580
A desperate politician called a peaceful protest a national emergency to get himself out of a political jam and build an enemies list by forcing banks to dox and seize funds of his opponents.
00:19:20.580
He needs it after the fact justification for why he destroyed our civil liberties.
00:19:24.580
I think he wants violence and some cops obviously want it.
00:19:28.580
Some cops became cops just for moments like this.
00:20:01.580
Well the protestors are offering passive resistance.
00:20:03.580
They're doing it the way Mahatma Gandhi did it in India.
00:20:06.580
They're not obeying but they're not resisting aggressively.
00:20:12.580
They'll be given, you know, strip searches probably.
00:20:16.580
Given how the courts have been the last two years I'm sure this latest, most outrageous assault on our liberties will be upheld by the authorities.
00:20:24.560
And the media party will write a false history of it, too, how Trudeau and his brave police saved the country from the from the bouncy castles or or the popcorn machine.
00:20:36.980
Yeah, we went into a national emergency for that.
00:20:56.440
What's the point of Parliament if this was done without waiting for Parliament?
00:20:59.980
What's what's the point of an opposition if they agreed to run away when the police told them to?
00:21:04.780
What's the point of a media if they're cheerleaders for the regime?
00:21:08.160
What's the point of police if they don't uphold the law, if they just follow Trudeau's orders?
00:21:12.720
This is deeply demoralizing to those who believe in peace, order and good government, ordered liberty, limited government, liberal values.
00:21:22.200
We now know that Trudeau really is Fidel Castro's heir politically, if not genetically.
00:21:28.520
But we also know that it was the truckers who gave us the freedoms back that are now returning province by province as politicians who are less violence prone decide to give up at least some of their lockdown powers.
00:21:43.100
I know that my own self-image as a Canadian citizen has changed what it means to be here in a country that I can at most call partly free.
00:21:58.520
At this point in the show, we were planning to have an interview with one of our reporters on the ground in Ottawa, probably Lincoln Jay, who's right, I mean, inches away from the police, inches away.
00:22:11.920
But he's doing that right now, and I do not want to break him away from that.
00:22:17.760
I would ask him what it's like, but I can't break him away from that right now.
00:22:21.700
So what we're going to do is we're going to take clips of video that he and we might take some from Alexa that they aired today.
00:22:30.700
In fact, Alexa was shoved down and Lincoln was pushed back.
00:22:36.720
So let me show you that brave work by our young citizen journalist, Alexa, very courageous.
00:22:46.940
I don't know his age, but he's a pretty young guy.
00:22:50.400
But, boy, he's showing courage, the two of them.
00:22:52.800
So we're very proud of those guys and our cameraman, Guillaume, who is with Alexa as well.
00:22:57.760
So let me show you some video clips, and I'll talk to you on the other side with some final thoughts.
00:23:09.620
Would you like to say that the vehicle is bleeding?
00:23:54.980
So one side, we have the police, and the other side, we have the veteran that's created
00:24:11.700
This is the one right now that needs to back up.
00:24:53.900
Oh, man, native land, true hatred out, with all our sons come and we're told.
00:25:16.900
God, who knows strong and free, from far and wide, O Canada, we stand on our foes.
00:26:28.900
Keep the peace, keep the peace, keep the peace!
00:26:34.900
We stand, keep the peace, keep the peace, keep the peace, keep the peace, keep the peace, keep the peace.
00:28:19.100
You can tell who's aggressive, who's the one that's aggressive.
00:33:55.420
And they used that to leverage them gaining ground
00:34:27.420
In the one sense that's the huge news of the past few weeks
00:34:31.420
Is that the truckers have been a greater force for freedom than anything else in Canada in two years
00:34:37.420
And even though Justin Trudeau is going full paramilitary full banana republic on them full Hong Kong police crushing the descent on them
00:34:45.420
The truckers have still inspired a nation caused vaccine mandates across the country to be taken down changed public opinion in Canada and around the world
00:34:58.420
They've launched a formal truck convoy schedule in the United States starting in California making its way to Washington DC
00:35:06.420
We've seen truckers in places as far away as Israel
00:35:09.420
The truckers were an authentic organic expression of resistance to the lockdowns that can never be undone
00:35:17.420
It also politicized a million people who had never thought of themselves as political before
00:35:28.420
Trudeau's reaction was an absolute disaster for our country
00:35:31.420
The worst civil liberties abuse by a government ever
00:35:34.420
And watching all the other establishment go along with it
00:35:51.420
Would you put your money in a Russian bank or a Ukrainian bank or a Venezuelan bank?
00:35:56.420
I think a lot of people are thinking twice about putting their money in Canada now
00:36:03.420
I know that Rebel News has a special role in all of this
00:36:08.420
And we've crowdfunded civil liberties lawyers to help fill the gaps
00:36:16.420
Because the massive power of the state is coming crushing down on those who dare to oppose Trudeau
00:36:27.420
We've covered the truckers in other provinces too as you know
00:36:30.420
I want to make sure our people stay out of jail
00:36:36.420
If Trudeau wants to jail us, if he wants to seize our bank account
00:36:49.420
On behalf of all of us here at Rebel World Headquarters
