The Liberals are funding academics to get to the bottom of all the misinformation plaguing Canadians online, and the government is funding a misinformation study to find out if there is any truth behind all that misinformation. But is there any truth about it?

00:00:00.000 the Liberals are funding academics to get to the bottom of all this misinformation online as is the
00:00:20.220 case with every scary movie including the one Canadians are living through I think the phone
00:00:25.080 calls coming from inside the house and then the big boss man Ezra Levant gives us a walkthrough
00:00:30.940 behind the scenes in Davos at the World Economic Forum it's January 15th 2024 I'm Sheila Gunn-Reed
00:00:38.720 but you're watching the Ezra Levant Show
00:00:40.760 shame on you you sensorism bug
00:00:55.080 the University of Toronto is seeking someone to do a misinformation study I'll give them a little
00:01:05.580 bit of free advice the biggest hotbed of misinformation for Canadians is about
00:01:10.560 five hours east of Toronto in Ottawa now getting back to that U of T contract the one-year contract
00:01:18.440 to examine misinformation and news consumption in Canada has the potential to be extended for four
00:01:25.160 years you see that there one year brings us to the end of Trudeau's current term if he wins the election
00:01:33.120 that contract will likely be extended or it could be killed if the Conservatives win as the Trudeau
00:01:41.460 Liberals have dumped over 30 million dollars in four years into the digital citizen initiative for
00:01:48.840 researchers to study what the government determines to be harmful misinformation online the U of T is
00:01:55.280 embarking on a mission to investigate the scary sources of it look at this the Canadian digital media
00:02:02.380 research networks mission is to protect and build resilience within the Canadian information ecosystem by
00:02:09.000 investigating how information is produced shared and consumed across all mediums you need these people
00:02:16.100 folks at home to protect you from information online that the Liberals don't like let's keep going
00:02:23.640 this survey project is led by an academic team of researchers at the policy elections and representation lab
00:02:31.560 at the University of Toronto however the researchers at U of T really need to look
00:02:38.800 no further than Ottawa to uncover the network of misinformation plaguing Canadians I mean who could forget when we were
00:02:45.900 told that the COVID-19 vaccine stopped virus transmission only to see the multiple jabbed
00:02:52.940 infinitely boosted Justin Trudeau get COVID every time somebody looked at him wrong
00:02:59.520 the Liberals have frequently misled the public and quite possibly themselves on the content of their own
00:03:06.760 legislation with Bill C21 the Liberals most recent attack on private gun ownership the Liberals called
00:03:13.240 accusations that the bill outlawed hunting rifles and shotguns misinformation the answer is no C21 is part of our
00:03:21.580 commitment to Canadians to move forward on strengthening gun control in smart responsible ways we have frozen the
00:03:28.860 market on handguns it's now impossible to buy or sell a handgun in this country we've moved forward on a ban on assault
00:03:35.960 style weapon that's been in place for two years and we're making sure with C21 that assault weapons will
00:03:41.560 never be legal again in this country the issue that's come up for a lot of people and I suspect
00:03:46.040 Eric who sent in the question is that there's a lot of misinformation and disinformation from the
00:03:50.440 Conservative Party and from the gun lobby about us going after hunting rifles and shotguns the reality is
00:03:56.520 we're focused on banning the most dangerous weapons those assault style weapons that were designed to kill the largest number of people as quickly and efficiently as possible
00:04:04.920 however in reality the law did exactly that and the Liberals had to then amend the portion of the law after their lies were laid bare to the Canadian public
00:04:16.920 the Liberal government is in the process of banning over half of the legal firearms in Canada and possibly even more
00:04:22.920 this is a result of the May 2020 gun ban and the Liberals new Bill C21 Justin Trudeau and Marco Mendocino have consistently claimed that they aren't banning any firearms used for hunting in Canada
00:04:36.920 we've been very clear that we are not targeting law-abiding hunters and fishers we're not going after shotguns or rifles
00:04:46.920 let me be very very clear on this we are moving forward on a ban on assault style weapons we're not going after
00:04:54.920 shotguns and rifles that are primarily used for hunting we are targeting those AR-15 style guns which have been used in mass casualties
00:05:02.920 the kinds of weapons that are used to kill the largest number of people as quickly as possible
00:05:06.920 they have also consistently claimed that others are spreading misinformation
00:05:10.920 accusing them of banning firearms used for hunting
00:05:12.920 we are not targeting law-abiding gun owners we are not targeting those guns which are commonly used for hunting
00:05:17.920 the Conservative Party is in the pockets of the gun lobby and trying to spread disinformation
00:05:23.920 honorable colleagues from the Conservative Party can continue to spread disinformation
00:05:26.920 but in the amendments to Bill C21 that the Liberals themselves tabled countless hunting rifles and shotguns
00:05:32.920 will be banned such as the Weatherby Mark 5 the Benelli M1 Super 90 the 1908 Brazilian Mauser
00:05:40.920 and the SKS just to name a few Trudeau later said this
00:05:45.920 there are some guns yes that we are going to have to take away from people who were using them to hunt
00:05:51.920 when I asked the Liberal firearms expert Murray Smith at committee if hunting rifles would be banned as a result of Bill C21
00:05:58.920 he answered yes
00:06:00.920 so are the Liberals banning hunting rifles?
00:06:03.920 yes
00:06:04.920 they banned some in 2020
00:06:06.920 and they intend to ban countless more using Bill C21 and its amendments
00:06:10.920 and this bill provides the legal ability to ban every firearm left in Canada
00:06:14.920 these are the easily verifiable facts
00:06:19.920 Trudeau has also accused Muslim parents of falling for far right misinformation for objecting to gender theory and sexualized materials in the classroom
00:06:30.920 but at the end of the day Muslim parents were just doing exactly what all right thinking parents should do
00:06:38.920 and that's making themselves aware of what was exactly being taught in Canadian classrooms with regard to gender theory
00:06:46.920 and then there's Liberal MP Mark Holland
00:06:49.920 he had to admit to the House of Commons that he gave misinformation to the chamber
00:06:54.920 when the Liberals asserted that Conservative leader Pierre Polyev could not pass a classified security screening
00:07:01.920 but we have offered to the leaders of all the parties in the House the capacity to get the security clearances necessary
00:07:11.920 so that they can look at that raw intelligence themselves
00:07:15.920 thank you very much Mr. Speaker
00:07:16.920 Mr. Speaker yesterday during question period
00:07:19.920 I'd like to inform the House that I misspoke when I said the leader of the official opposition was offered a briefing on foreign electoral interference
00:07:26.920 what I had meant to say Mr. Speaker was the leader of the official opposition had stated publicly that he would refuse such a briefing on classified information
00:07:33.920 I apologize for the confusion
00:07:35.920 Trudeau also claimed it was misinformation that his government was targeting farmers with a 30% reduction in nitrogen fertilizer use
00:07:44.920 however, internal agriculture ministry records demonstrated that that was a lie
00:07:51.920 that's not the plan we are not mandating 30% reductions in fertilizer use
00:07:56.920 Trudeau has also insisted that his escalating carbon tax would result in lower costs to the consumer and more money in Canadian pockets
00:08:03.920 if this were said in the private sector that person would be accused of running an illegal Ponzi scheme
00:08:09.920 but since it's Trudeau math everyone just shrugs their shoulders
00:08:13.920 we know that climate change is real
00:08:16.920 we know we have to do what we can to reduce emissions and fight it
00:08:20.920 but we also know we have to do that in a way that continues to support families
00:08:27.920 that's why we brought in a price on pollution that is one of the world leading prices on pollution
00:08:33.920 with a model that is unique to Canada
00:08:37.920 that actually puts more money back in the pockets of the average Canadian families
00:08:44.920 than the price on pollution actually costs them in a given year
00:08:49.920 so not only are we sending clear price signals to businesses and to innovators to keep moving forward on reducing emissions
00:09:00.920 and investing in clean technology
00:09:03.920 but we are putting more money in the pockets of families right across Canada
00:09:11.920 because of this price on pollution
00:09:13.920 this is a measure that both helps with affordability and fights climate change
00:09:18.920 so when conservative politicians say they would scrap the price on pollution
00:09:23.920 what they're actually saying is we will do less to fight against climate change
00:09:27.920 and we will be taking money away from families who are counting on these climate action incentives
00:09:33.920 to continue to find things affordable
00:09:35.920 yet the head of the Bank of Canada Tiff Macklem described the carbon tax as one of the leading causes of the inflationary crisis
00:09:43.920 hammering Canadians bank accounts as we speak
00:09:46.920 what would be the effect if the carbon tax
00:09:50.920 what would be the effect on inflation if the carbon tax was eliminated
00:09:53.920 and that would create a one-time drop in inflation of 0.6 percentage points
00:10:00.920 okay
00:10:01.920 so that would last one year
00:10:03.920 and since you can only eliminate it once
00:10:06.920 the next year it would have no effect on inflation
00:10:09.920 for sure
00:10:10.920 and hopefully next year inflation won't be as big a concern as it is this year
00:10:15.920 but just to reiterate what you said there
00:10:19.920 so it would be 60 basis points or 0.6 percent
00:10:23.920 which currently the inflation rate is at 3.8 percent
00:10:29.920 and so that equates to more than 10 I think almost 15 percent
00:10:32.920 if I can do the math quickly
00:10:33.920 well it'd be 3.2
00:10:36.920 that would be a sizable drop in inflation
00:10:39.920 it would make your job to quote you
00:10:42.920 it would be helpful if I can would that be correct
00:10:46.920 it's only going to affect inflation for one year
00:10:49.920 yeah but as you said Mr. Macklem hopefully
00:10:52.920 and as you forecasted inflation probably according to your predictions
00:10:57.920 won't be as big an issue as it will for a year right now
00:11:00.920 so if we can get a year's relief out of that
00:11:02.920 that's Canadians who will be able to keep their houses
00:11:04.920 that's Canadians who will be able to enter the mortgage bank
00:11:06.920 that's Canadians who will be able to feed themselves
00:11:09.920 because of a 10 percent reduction in inflation isn't that so Mr. Macklem
00:11:13.920 it will be down 0.6
00:11:15.920 and Chrystia Freeland the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance
00:11:18.920 has said that she defends journalists from state attacks
00:11:21.920 journalists are not the enemies of the people
00:11:24.920 journalists serve the people
00:11:27.920 speaking from my own experience in government
00:11:30.920 I cannot say that every single question that I am asked by a journalist
00:11:35.920 is welcome or easy to answer
00:11:39.920 but I am absolutely convinced that the fact that journalists are present to bear witness
00:11:49.920 the fact that journalists are present to hold governments to account
00:11:55.920 makes governments better
00:11:57.920 so freedom of the press is an essential human right
00:12:02.920 and it is an essential element in making democracy strong
00:12:07.920 however she refused to defend David Menzies
00:12:09.920 when he was illegally arrested and assaulted
00:12:11.920 by her executive security detail
00:12:14.920 literally as it happened
00:12:16.920 Ms. Freeland, how come the IRDC is not a terrorist group?
00:12:21.920 why is your government supporting Islam on national media?
00:12:24.920 what?
00:12:25.920 you've been in Mississippi
00:12:26.920 what do you think?
00:12:27.920 you're under arrest for a service
00:12:29.920 you're under arrest for assault
00:12:32.920 you're under arrest for assault
00:12:34.920 what are you talking about?
00:12:36.920 police
00:12:37.920 you're under arrest for assault
00:12:38.920 how am I under arrest?
00:12:39.920 you bumped into me
00:12:40.920 you pushed into me
00:12:41.920 you bumped
00:12:42.920 I was just scrubbing
00:12:43.920 I've got my credentials here and you just bumped into me
00:12:45.920 so excuse me
00:12:46.920 police
00:12:47.920 you're under arrest for pushing me
00:12:48.920 what is your name in your bag?
00:12:50.920 what is your name in your bag?
00:12:51.920 you've been told you're under arrest
00:12:53.920 why am I under arrest?
00:12:54.920 he blocked my way
00:12:57.920 he blocked my way
00:12:59.920 what?
00:13:00.920 I was just scrubbing
00:13:02.920 Christian Freeland
00:13:03.920 I'm a police officer
00:13:04.920 you're under arrest
00:13:05.920 what is your name in your badge?
00:13:06.920 you've been told
00:13:07.920 assaulting a police officer
00:13:08.920 she also failed to take a stance in defense of a free press
00:13:10.920 when asked about the arrest of David Menzies
00:13:12.920 what do you make of your security detail arresting David Menzies?
00:13:16.920 I want to start with what was important about Monday
00:13:26.920 and what was important about Monday, January 8th
00:13:31.920 was that was the fourth anniversary of a date that I think forever needs to be marked and circled in black
00:13:41.920 on the calendar of all Canadians
00:13:43.920 it was a tragedy for Canada
00:13:46.920 Canadians were criminally murdered
00:13:50.920 and I want to say to the families and loved ones of the people who were murdered
00:13:58.920 that Canada remembers Canada will not forget
00:14:02.920 and that's why I was in Richmond Hill
00:14:05.920 Marcy was there too
00:14:07.920 to show that this is a Canadian tragedy
00:14:10.920 that Canada remembers and Canada will not forget
00:14:16.920 on the incident
00:14:22.920 as you guys know very well
00:14:25.920 Canada is a rule of law country
00:14:27.920 Canada is a democracy
00:14:30.920 operational decisions about law enforcement are taken by the police of jurisdiction
00:14:37.920 quite appropriately
00:14:39.920 political elected officials have no role in the taking of those decisions
00:14:45.920 and that's why I don't have any further comment
00:14:48.920 all this is to say maybe I should apply for that contract with the University of Toronto
00:14:54.920 I mean any of us from the independent media could
00:14:56.920 because it is our job to hold the Liberals to account for their misinformation
00:15:03.920 I mean we could apply for it but pretty much nobody at the CBC could
00:15:09.920 stay with us
00:15:10.920 the boss Ezra Levant gives us a sneak peek from behind the scenes
00:15:15.920 at Davos Switzerland at the World Economic Forum
00:15:45.920 anybody who felt this was too much or I said it's an unfair question because who will the hell
00:16:02.920 you know the theme of this week's World Economic Forum meeting here in Davos is
00:16:08.920 I think that's how the locals say Davos
00:16:10.920 I don't know I'm mispronouncing it
00:16:12.920 the theme is rebuilding trust
00:16:14.920 and at least they acknowledge that they've lost trust
00:16:18.920 but it's almost a poisonous endorsement if the WEF supports you
00:16:24.920 they take over this ski village in the Swiss Alps
00:16:27.920 and they transform the center street into
00:16:31.920 I guess the best way to describe it is like a movie set
00:16:34.920 and big globalist corporations set up pavilions and kiosks
00:16:40.920 behind me is really the heart of darkness
00:16:42.920 BlackRock it's run by Larry Fink
00:16:45.920 perhaps the world's most aggressive promoter of cultural Marxism
00:16:51.920 DEI diversity equity inclusion
00:16:53.920 BlackRock has trillions of dollars under management
00:16:56.920 and what they do is really sneaky Avi
00:16:58.920 is that they say to the companies they invest in
00:17:01.920 we're not just here for a financial rate of return
00:17:04.920 we're going to force you to do
00:17:06.920 Are you interrupting?
00:17:07.920 Are you interrupting us?
00:17:08.920 What's your name?
00:17:09.920 I'm so sorry to interrupt but this is a parking space
00:17:11.920 I just wanted to ask you to move over to New York
00:17:13.920 I'm not going to because there's no car coming to this parking space
00:17:16.920 What's your name?
00:17:17.920 I don't want you guys to get hit by a vehicle
00:17:19.920 What's your name?
00:17:20.920 Me neither, thanks for caring so much about me
00:17:21.920 I feel like BlackRock really cares
00:17:23.920 Just watch yourself
00:17:24.920 Okay, what's your name?
00:17:25.920 My name's Julia, hi
00:17:27.920 Julia, are you with BlackRock or are you with...
00:17:29.920 Yeah
00:17:30.920 What do you do with BlackRock?
00:17:31.920 Oh, I'm not going to go into interview
00:17:33.920 Don't touch me
00:17:34.920 Don't touch me
00:17:35.920 Sorry, don't touch me
00:17:36.920 Regaining trust
00:17:37.920 To me, I'm looking at this
00:17:39.920 it looks more of the same business as usual
00:17:41.920 pop-up city in a town
00:17:44.920 where they're going over the next week to
00:17:46.920 I imagine, as usual, tell us that climate change
00:17:49.920 in fact, their mission statement is
00:17:51.920 one of the biggest risks is misinformation and global weather events
00:17:58.920 extreme weather events from climate change
00:18:00.920 How do you justify this and how do you say this is regaining trust
00:18:04.920 if you're doing exactly the same thing year on year?
00:18:08.920 Yeah, I mean, just as we drove in
00:18:10.920 we saw them putting the final touches on this gorgeous wooden facade
00:18:15.920 and I don't... Royal Commission for AIUIA
00:18:19.920 I don't know what that word even is
00:18:21.920 or is that Alula?
00:18:23.920 I don't even know
00:18:24.920 What does it say over here?
00:18:26.920 The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
00:18:28.920 Vision 2030
00:18:30.920 Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
00:18:31.920 Okay, so this is some Saudi thing
00:18:33.920 Who knows what it is?
00:18:34.920 A lot of Saudi things here over the last 15 years
00:18:38.920 A lot
00:18:39.920 A lot
00:18:41.920 Credible India
00:18:43.920 Empowering 1.5 million
00:18:46.920 They're obviously hoping to get some of that black rock action
00:18:51.920 There's a lot of very generic sounding groups
00:18:54.920 Empowering Women Igniting Prosperity
00:18:57.920 A group called We Lead
00:18:59.920 I mean, how are you going to possibly be against empowering women
00:19:02.920 and igniting prosperity
00:19:05.920 Without doing a search on it
00:19:07.920 to do a little due diligence
00:19:08.920 I have no idea who they are
00:19:10.920 But I gotta think it's...
00:19:13.920 If it's here at Davos
00:19:14.920 it's probably some sort of authoritarian
00:19:16.920 or centrally planned economy
00:19:18.920 Why don't we poke in for a second
00:19:20.920 and just see if they'll tell us?
00:19:23.920 What is this?
00:19:24.920 I'm Ezra, what's your name?
00:19:25.920 I'm Ray Luka
00:19:26.920 Hi
00:19:27.920 What's this whole thing?
00:19:28.920 We're curious
00:19:29.920 We walked by and we didn't know what it was
00:19:31.920 This is an Indian lounge
00:19:33.920 It's a women's lounge
00:19:35.920 Are we allowed to be in as supporters?
00:19:38.920 Because we're not women but we sure like women
00:19:40.920 Yeah
00:19:41.920 Okay
00:19:42.920 But they have to like you too
00:19:44.920 Otherwise...
00:19:45.920 I have mixed luck in that regard
00:19:47.920 Listen, I'm joking around
00:19:48.920 So basically this is...
00:19:50.920 Do you want to talk about it?
00:19:51.920 Come on
00:19:52.920 So it's a lounge that's been set up to speak about women leadership and the role that they play in globalization and propelling the economy forward
00:20:02.920 It's been set up in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Child Development Government of India and Bill and Melinda Gates and the CII, Consideration of Indian Industry
00:20:13.920 So our focus is exactly to understand across various industries and across various sectors
00:20:21.920 What are all the achievements that have already happened with women leading the charge?
00:20:25.920 And what are all the opportunities that are present now?
00:20:28.920 Can I ask you one question? We love the government of India and we see there's a lot of Indian pavilions here and I think that's very exciting
00:20:35.920 The world's largest democracy
00:20:37.920 But you mentioned that Bill and Melinda Gates are involved
00:20:40.920 And they're not as focused on democracy, are they?
00:20:44.920 And they really... I'm nervous about that
00:20:47.920 Is this a way to bring in abortion or to have vaccines?
00:20:54.920 Because when I think of Bill and Melinda Gates, I think of social engineering
00:20:58.920 And I'm just worried because I'm worried that this is their doorway into India
00:21:03.920 Am I being too skeptical?
00:21:06.920 No, we've been working with them for a long time
00:21:08.920 And don't find a story where there isn't a story
00:21:11.920 Okay, well tell us what they're doing
00:21:13.920 Why would they... what is their goal here?
00:21:15.920 No, no, you're focusing on them
00:21:17.920 Well, I mean you mentioned them
00:21:18.920 The focus here is on the Indian Minister for Women Leadership
00:21:24.920 And she is going to be talking about women leadership in India and globally
00:21:30.920 And that is the focus of the whole thing
00:21:32.920 Okay, well listen, that sounds positive to me
00:21:35.920 But I tell you, when you said Bill and Melinda Gates, it was like...
00:21:38.920 Blah, blah, blah
00:21:39.920 That's why I said don't look for a story
00:21:41.920 Well, I think there's a story somewhere here
00:21:43.920 What is their goal?
00:21:44.920 Come back again, when the Minister...
00:21:46.920 When's the Minister coming?
00:21:47.920 When the session is happening to find out the real...
00:21:49.920 Okay, and when's... do you know what day that's happening?
00:21:51.920 Yeah, tomorrow on Wednesday
00:21:52.920 Tomorrow, 6 in the evening, we have a press conference
00:21:54.920 You are welcome
00:21:55.920 Thank you very much, you're very friendly
00:21:57.920 Thanks for welcoming us
00:21:58.920 You're a lot nicer than the guys at BlackRock
00:22:02.920 Alright, well good luck, ladies
00:22:04.920 Thank you
00:22:05.920 And we might come back tomorrow
00:22:06.920 Go ahead
00:22:07.920 No guy that's going to come here?
00:22:08.920 No, he's not
00:22:09.920 Oh, he's not
00:22:10.920 I don't, don't
00:22:11.920 For a story
00:22:12.920 We don't need to look for a story
00:22:15.920 Wherever Bill Gates is, there is a story
00:22:17.920 He's not, yeah
00:22:18.920 But there are many different stories
00:22:20.920 You can come back
00:22:21.920 We'll come back
00:22:22.920 Thank you so much
00:22:23.920 Thank you for that warm welcome
00:22:24.920 Bye ladies, good luck
00:22:25.920 Keep it up
00:22:26.920 Cheers
00:22:28.920 And the thing is, you can't...
00:22:29.920 You look at those people
00:22:30.920 And you can't fault them
00:22:31.920 When Bill Gates comes in with all this cash
00:22:35.920 And these people obviously need the money for...
00:22:38.920 I don't know what the organisation is
00:22:40.920 I don't know if it's good or evil
00:22:42.920 I don't know anything about it
00:22:44.920 You know what, I'm worried about it
00:22:46.920 I mean, India is not a rich country per capita
00:22:50.920 But it is an enormous country
00:22:52.920 It has an enormous GDP, an enormous budget
00:22:54.920 They don't actually need Bill Gates' money
00:22:57.920 To do what they want to do
00:22:59.920 And Bill Gates does nothing for free
00:23:01.920 There's always an angle, an ideological angle
00:23:04.920 And so it makes me nervous that he's burrowing his way in
00:23:09.920 Not just to our countries in the West
00:23:11.920 But he's burrowing his way into India
00:23:13.920 I don't know, I mean, listen
00:23:14.920 They were lovely ladies
00:23:16.920 But I was not pleased with what they revealed unprompted
00:23:22.920 They were proud about Bill and Melinda Gates until...
00:23:26.920 Yeah, they kept saying don't make a story where there isn't
00:23:29.920 They were the ones who told me
00:23:30.920 Are you guys with the Ukraine pavilion?
00:23:33.920 Do you speak any English?
00:23:34.920 Speak a little English?
00:23:35.920 A little bit
00:23:37.920 When is this open?
00:23:38.920 Is this open tomorrow?
00:23:39.920 I think it's tomorrow open
00:23:41.920 But today, no way
00:23:44.920 Still setting it up?
00:23:46.920 Yeah
00:23:47.920 Yeah
00:23:48.920 So is the President Zelensky speaking here?
00:23:51.920 Yeah
00:23:52.920 What day is that?
00:23:53.920 We don't know
00:23:54.920 Up to tomorrow
00:23:55.920 We are not from here
00:23:56.920 Wait, wait
00:23:57.920 Are you just the local folks, are you?
00:23:58.920 Yes
00:23:59.920 Okay
00:24:00.920 Do you know that it's our city?
00:24:02.920 You know that?
00:24:03.920 What do you mean it's your city?
00:24:04.920 Our city
00:24:05.920 It's our city
00:24:08.920 We try to make
00:24:12.920 A broadcast
00:24:15.920 Piece
00:24:16.920 Okay, you're trying to make a broadcast
00:24:18.920 All right
00:24:19.920 We're walking here
00:24:20.920 We're sorry
00:24:21.920 You are asking our people
00:24:23.920 You're the only one in the world
00:24:25.920 No, that's not true
00:24:26.920 I tell you
00:24:27.920 They're not used to citizen journalists, are they?
00:24:29.920 They're used to everything handled by PR firms
00:24:32.920 And...
00:24:33.920 I've never seen somebody get so upset about
00:24:35.920 Like, walking into a set that I didn't know was a set
00:24:39.920 Interesting
00:24:40.920 Oh, because it's all set up
00:24:43.920 I'm understanding now
00:24:45.920 They've set up a shot
00:24:47.920 Got it
00:24:48.920 So those were like actors
00:24:49.920 They're always actors
00:24:50.920 Okay
00:24:51.920 How fitting
00:24:52.920 It's still a little bit of building going on around us
00:24:54.920 Here's lots of lumber
00:24:56.920 Hi, how are you?
00:24:57.920 See you again
00:24:58.920 Thank you
00:24:59.920 Yeah, nice to see you
00:25:00.920 I remember we had a great chat last year
00:25:02.920 Did you see the videos we made?
00:25:03.920 You made a lot of noise
00:25:05.920 Very good
00:25:06.920 But you know, 53 years after the WEF was founded
00:25:10.920 They have 75 million children working in their supply chains
00:25:14.920 This is absolutely unacceptable
00:25:16.920 And we have high officials from the government of Canada
00:25:20.920 Like the Deputy Prime Minister, Christian Finland
00:25:24.920 Who's a member of the board of the World Economic Forum
00:25:27.920 And this is something important
00:25:30.920 You know, this is Fernando Morales de la Cruz
00:25:32.920 Who we met exactly a year ago
00:25:34.920 When we were doing the same walk
00:25:35.920 And you introduced yourself to us
00:25:37.920 And you had riveting and terrifying and heartbreaking stories
00:25:40.920 About child trafficking
00:25:42.920 And I thought, this is the right place to be
00:25:44.920 Because a lot of the people here are complicit
00:25:46.920 Well, they are profiting from the exploitation of 75 million children in their supply chains
00:25:51.920 And I'm actually being conservative in the figure
00:25:53.920 The problem is that many of these companies have business models
00:25:57.920 That have actually increased misery, hunger, malnutrition and child labour
00:26:00.920 And some of these companies are even Canadian
00:26:02.920 And of course, we have the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan
00:26:05.920 Which is a shareholder in Barry Calibout
00:26:08.920 The largest cocoa processing company
00:26:10.920 And they are profiting also from child labour by investing in such a company
00:26:14.920 And I'm sure the Ontario Teachers are honest people
00:26:17.920 But the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan should not be doing this kind of investments
00:26:21.920 Yeah
00:26:22.920 Well, I'm absolutely delighted to see you here again
00:26:24.920 Me too
00:26:25.920 And you're proof that not every
00:26:27.920 There are people here who come to speak truth to power
00:26:30.920 And I put you in that category
00:26:32.920 Yeah, I'm outside of the web
00:26:33.920 Yeah, us too
00:26:34.920 All right, well, nice to see
00:26:35.920 Thanks for coming over to say hello
00:26:36.920 My pleasure
00:26:37.920 I'm flattered that you remembered us from last year
00:26:38.920 You are unforgettable
00:26:39.920 Especially because here you are one of those good birds
00:26:42.920 In the middle of all of this dangerous
00:26:45.920 Well, you're very nice to see Fernando
00:26:47.920 Thank you very much
00:26:48.920 Thank you very much
00:26:55.920 So you've got a battle between real journals
00:26:58.920 I have no idea if the Davidsort Zeitung is left wing or right wing
00:27:02.920 What I know is it doesn't really matter
00:27:04.920 Because AI, machine learning, big data, Facebook
00:27:09.920 Companies that we don't even know their names
00:27:11.920 Are seeking to monitor, filter, boost or throttle
00:27:16.920 Every single comment in the world about politics
00:27:21.920 And not just misinformation and disinformation
00:27:24.920 Klaus Schwab himself talks about AI replacing elections altogether
00:27:29.920 There was an incredible clip of him saying
00:27:32.920 We should be able to detect what the people want
00:27:34.920 And AI can give us the result
00:27:36.920 It was just shocking
00:27:37.920 You do not even have to have elections anymore
00:27:39.920 Because you can already predict what predict
00:27:44.920 And afterwards you can say
00:27:46.920 Why do we need elections?
00:27:48.920 Because we know what the result will be
00:27:50.920 The thing about the World Economic Forum
00:27:52.920 Is they really are a conspiracy theorist's worst dream come true
00:27:58.920 But if you just point to what they're saying
00:28:00.920 The regime media says
00:28:01.920 Oh no, no, that's a conspiracy theory
00:28:03.920 No, Klaus Schwab said that
00:28:05.920 It's not hiding it
00:28:06.920 And I think it's important to note this time
00:28:09.920 You know, last time we came here last year
00:28:11.920 In fact, the last two years I think
00:28:12.920 There was a big focus on climate change
00:28:15.920 You saw every single branding was about climate change
00:28:18.920 In one way or another
00:28:19.920 This time it's different
00:28:21.920 Is that they're regaining trust, I guess
00:28:23.920 Are they pulling away from the climate?
00:28:25.920 I doubt it
00:28:26.920 Because they're still talking about
00:28:28.920 Inflation and poverty
00:28:30.920 People aren't buying climate change as much this year
00:28:32.920 As they were last year
00:28:33.920 And this year it looks like the focus is AI
00:28:36.920 Is that the natural progression?
00:28:37.920 Is it because that's where they want to go?
00:28:39.920 I don't know
00:28:40.920 But you're seeing it everywhere
00:28:41.920 And they're talking about trustworthy
00:28:42.920 We'll see in a minute
00:28:43.920 Trustworthy AI
00:28:44.920 Do I trust these guys here
00:28:46.920 With anything, let alone artificial intelligence?
00:28:48.920 No, bloody way
00:28:49.920 What about you, Ezra?
00:28:51.920 You know, I completely don't
00:28:54.920 I'm terrified that anyone like Klaus Schwab
00:28:56.920 Or his muse, Yuval Noah Harari
00:28:59.920 He's the guy who said the future for most people
00:29:01.920 Is just doing nothing
00:29:03.920 Video games and drugs
00:29:05.920 He called people useless people
00:29:07.920 I think that the biggest question
00:29:09.920 Maybe in economics and politics
00:29:11.920 Of the coming decades
00:29:12.920 Will be what to do
00:29:14.920 With all these useless people
00:29:16.920 Problem is more boredom
00:29:19.920 And what to do with them
00:29:21.920 And how will they find some sense of meaning in life
00:29:23.920 When they are basically meaningless, worthless
00:29:27.920 My best guess at present
00:29:29.920 Is a combination of drugs and computer games
00:29:33.920 And that's the future they see for us
00:29:35.920 But let me point out something
00:29:36.920 You and I are here as citizen journalists
00:29:37.920 We caused a bit of a freak out at the Black Rock
00:29:39.920 We caused a bit of a freak out here and there
00:29:41.920 You're exaggerating
00:29:42.920 You were just for your safety
00:29:44.920 They had to move us on
00:29:45.920 We didn't want to get run out
00:29:46.920 You see the Financial Times
00:29:47.920 Obviously a very prestigious newspaper in London
00:29:50.920 And across the street there
00:29:51.920 Axios
00:29:52.920 Do you see that?
00:29:53.920 That's a very large funded
00:29:55.920 I think one of the founders of Microsoft
00:29:57.920 If I'm not mistaken
00:29:58.920 Basically created that as a hobby publisher
00:30:01.920 And as we walk in further and further
00:30:03.920 We will see media
00:30:05.920 Wall Street Journal, CNN
00:30:07.920 And so you might be saying
00:30:09.920 Ezra you said that there was no media scrutiny of this
00:30:12.920 What are you talking about?
00:30:13.920 There's journalists everywhere
00:30:14.920 But here's my point
00:30:15.920 To get that access
00:30:17.920 To get this access
00:30:18.920 To have these pavilions
00:30:20.920 To be part of the insider team
00:30:23.920 These media companies have to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars
00:30:27.920 To buy in
00:30:29.920 So they are not here to bury
00:30:32.920 They're here to praise
00:30:33.920 They are here on the inside
00:30:36.920 And that's why people like Albert Bourla
00:30:39.920 Love Davos
00:30:40.920 Because every single question he's ever been asked in his life
00:30:43.920 Is being a friendly softball
00:30:44.920 To provide
00:30:45.920 And so the citizen journalists like us
00:30:48.920 And there's maybe a handful of others here
00:30:50.920 That's
00:30:51.920 We're deeply hated by the Davos elite
00:30:54.920 If they even think about us
00:30:56.920 Because we didn't pay money to be here
00:30:58.920 And we're not here to suck up and to make friends
00:31:01.920 We're here to shine a light of scrutiny on what they're doing
00:31:04.920 Absolutely
00:31:05.920 Unlike Financial Times, Axios
00:31:07.920 And we've done that in the last two visits that we've been here
00:31:11.920 We've even confronted the mainstream media
00:31:14.920 In fact, one of these cafes right here
00:31:16.920 Was where I met the editor of the New York Times
00:31:19.920 And then the next time the CNBC
00:31:22.920 Who then later, if you recall, threatened to bash me
00:31:25.920 But they are certainly a part of what's going on here
00:31:29.920 They're either paying to be here or they're invited as well
00:31:32.920 To speak and to run
00:31:34.920 They're not asking any critical questions
00:31:36.920 Here's the Equality Lounge
00:31:37.920 We went in there last year
00:31:38.920 And the good thing about the Equality Lounge
00:31:40.920 Is you've got billionaires
00:31:41.920 And maybe the odd trillionaires showing up
00:31:43.920 In the private jets and the private helicopters
00:31:45.920 And you can't get a hotel in this town
00:31:48.920 Because they booked them up a year in advance
00:31:50.920 We're staying a town away
00:31:52.920 And we're spending thousands of dollars a night
00:31:54.920 But hey, don't forget guys
00:31:55.920 It's about equality
00:31:56.920 We're all in this together
00:31:58.920 J.P. Morgan
00:32:01.920 J.P. Morgan, hi
00:32:03.920 Manfred, how you doing?
00:32:04.920 Oh, you're with CNBC
00:32:07.920 Nice to meet you
00:32:08.920 I'm Ezra Levant
00:32:09.920 That's my friend Abiyamini
00:32:10.920 Nice to meet you
00:32:11.920 You look like you've given up already
00:32:13.920 No, you haven't?
00:32:14.920 No, you haven't?
00:32:15.920 What are you doing for CNBC?
00:32:17.920 I'm actually doing a lot of stuff
00:32:19.920 I'm actually bringing the last couple of networks over here
00:32:23.920 Along with my editorial coverage on business
00:32:25.920 And global leaders conversations
00:32:27.920 But majorly on healthcare, sanitation and water
00:32:32.920 Are you staying in Davos itself?
00:32:35.920 Yep
00:32:36.920 You were booked in by your company obviously
00:32:38.920 Yeah
00:32:39.920 I bet it's nice to stay here in the city
00:32:42.920 So basically we have our studio in Congress Center
00:32:46.920 Right
00:32:47.920 So we do our programming from there
00:32:48.920 And a variety of other conversations from various launches
00:32:51.920 Good
00:32:52.920 Well, it's nice to meet you
00:32:53.920 I'm just excited about equality
00:32:56.920 Yeah, especially McKinsey & Company
00:32:58.920 Yeah
00:32:59.920 And J.P. Morgan, one of the richest men in the world
00:33:01.920 Yeah, I just have a real strong equality vibe here
00:33:05.920 Yeah
00:33:06.920 I think they are really making noise
00:33:08.920 Since last year we saw this
00:33:10.920 And I think two last summer
00:33:13.920 When the summer Davos happened
00:33:14.920 That's when first they made actually
00:33:17.920 Mark in Davos
00:33:18.920 And last year they kind of made it much bigger
00:33:20.920 By getting Deloitte and other big partners
00:33:22.920 But this year you see the names are actually going up and up
00:33:26.920 All right, well listen, good luck in the days ahead
00:33:36.920 All races, all gender expressions, all gender identities, all ages, all religions, all sexual orientations, all cultures, all abilities and all mindsets
00:33:45.920 Then those bigots left out all species
00:33:51.920 How dare these bigots be so species centred?
00:33:56.920 I am full of rage
00:33:58.920 We are here
00:34:00.920 We are here
00:34:01.920 Ezra Levan
00:34:02.920 We
00:34:04.920 WEFreports.com
00:34:05.920 We actually
00:34:06.920 I would
00:34:07.920 It's called the Congress
00:34:08.920 This is where it all happens
00:34:09.920 So those clips that you see that comes from in there
00:34:12.920 There's a lot of little rooms in there where all the secret meetings also happen that you don't see on camera
00:34:17.920 That is the house of evil
00:34:20.920 Yeah, and again, even there there's different layers
00:34:23.920 There's the sanctum sanctorum, the very inner sanctum
00:34:27.920 That would be where Klaus Schwab and people like Larry Fink and Christopher Freeland have their private confabs with the Bill Gateses and the George Soros
00:34:36.920 Those are off the record
00:34:38.920 Unlike if some of those meetings were to happen in Washington DC or Ottawa, Canada
00:34:43.920 There's no lobbyist registry here
00:34:45.920 There's no disclosure or transparency
00:34:47.920 There's no access to information requests
00:34:49.920 What is done in Davos stays in Davos
00:34:52.920 There are certain things that they want to show the world
00:34:55.920 And so certain things are live streamed
00:34:57.920 And those are crazy enough
00:34:58.920 As shocking as they are
00:35:00.920 Yeah
00:35:01.920 But I think the reason why people spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to come here as official guests and with pavilions
00:35:09.920 Is because there's so much dirty money and so many dirty deals done here
00:35:16.920 It's really unrivaled that way
00:35:18.920 I mean the United Nations obviously there's a lot of politics and diplomacy and national security and military stuff
00:35:24.920 But this is where the black box of the world and the McKinsey's of the world do their commerce
00:35:30.920 Beyond the eyesight of the SEC or the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act or the Foreign Agent Registration Act
00:35:38.920 This is basically a parallel crypto government
00:35:42.920 And people always say, oh, when they
00:35:45.920 Just because the World Economic Forum says you're going to eat bugs
00:35:49.920 Or you're going to own nothing
00:35:51.920 And you're going to like it
00:35:53.920 People say, well, that's not binding
00:35:55.920 No, but it's certainly persuasive
00:35:57.920 For example, in Canada's case
00:35:59.920 If you've got the Deputy Prime Minister, Chrystia Freeland
00:36:01.920 Listening to all this build back better, great reset, eat bugs stuff
00:36:06.920 And then she goes back to Canada
00:36:08.920 And it pops up as Canadian policy
00:36:10.920 Yeah, the final decision I suppose was made in Ottawa
00:36:13.920 But the laboratory for the bad ideas is here
00:36:17.920 This is a bad ideas laboratory
00:36:19.920 That is being pumped through the arteries of the world into every country
00:36:24.920 That's why I'm worried about learning that India has teamed up with Bill Gates on some project
00:36:30.920 Because Bill Gates is not a selfless man
00:36:32.920 In fact, he visited Jeffrey Epstein literally dozens of times
00:36:37.920 He's a diabolical man
00:36:39.920 Even after
00:36:40.920 Yeah
00:36:41.920 And so to learn that Bill Gates is involved
00:36:43.920 That's the poison in the World Economic Forum
00:36:45.920 And it's not just coming into Western Europe and America
00:36:48.920 It's being pumped into these developing countries too
00:36:53.920 As of tomorrow, this will be the closest we get to the inner sanctum
00:36:58.920 That's literally going to be like a prison watchtower up there
00:37:02.920 Where I presume they have facial recognition cameras and all sorts of things
00:37:06.920 You can see, as you pointed out, there's no entry now
00:37:09.920 Yeah, that's right
00:37:12.920 So this will be off limits to us tomorrow
00:37:17.920 Well, that's it for our walk along the promenade in Davos
00:37:21.920 You know, you can see it being transformed in front of your eyes
00:37:24.920 From this beautiful ski town high in the Swiss Alps
00:37:27.920 To a propaganda engine
00:37:29.920 Where storefronts are literally being posted over by different lobby groups
00:37:34.920 And AI groups and regime media
00:37:38.920 It's quite something to behold
00:37:40.920 By tomorrow though, this place will be ready for prime time
00:37:44.920 And this sign behind us that says no entry
00:37:47.920 Well, that's going to apply to us
00:37:49.920 Because Avi and I have been denied accreditation
00:37:52.920 I wrote to the World Economic Forum this year
00:37:54.920 I said, look, we're coming
00:37:55.920 And we're going to do stories about you no matter what
00:37:57.920 Why don't you let us in
00:37:58.920 So you can at least engage with us
00:38:00.920 And tell us your side of the story
00:38:02.920 We're going to be there anyways
00:38:03.920 Why not have some input?
00:38:05.920 They refused even to acknowledge it
00:38:06.920 Look, they don't want outside voices
00:38:08.920 They want people who are compliant with the narrative
00:38:11.920 That's why tomorrow will be no entry
00:38:14.920 Now, Avi, this is your third time at Davos
00:38:16.920 So you're the old hand
00:38:18.920 This is actually going to be the hotspot for us tomorrow
00:38:21.920 This is our HQ right here
00:38:23.920 This is where, you know, anyone that's anybody needs to actually go
00:38:28.920 Whether they want to visit something in the promenade
00:38:30.920 Or they want to go to their vehicles
00:38:33.920 This is the other side that has the hotels
00:38:34.920 But this is the side that they all come to
00:38:36.920 And proudly wear their tags
00:38:38.920 That lets us know who exactly they are
00:38:41.920 And allows us to put those questions that they're never used to getting
00:38:46.920 So I'm really excited about a great week
00:38:48.920 And I think the viewers can follow all the stories
00:38:51.920 Share all the stories at wefreports.com
00:38:55.920 And I think it's also important to remind our most loyal viewers
00:38:58.920 That this wasn't a cheap thing for us to come
00:39:02.920 No, we didn't pay the hundreds of thousands to have a pop-up storefront
00:39:07.920 But it still cost us just to be here Ezra
00:39:09.920 The flights, just for me and Benji
00:39:11.920 To come from Australia was almost $5,000
00:39:13.920 Yeah
00:39:14.920 Then on top of that, all the Canadian teams
00:39:16.920 So the other four
00:39:17.920 Yeah
00:39:18.920 Plus the accommodation
00:39:19.920 The shocking thing is the accommodation
00:39:20.920 Every hotel in Davos is booked up every Airbnb
00:39:24.920 So we're staying an entire town away
00:39:26.920 But still prices there are
00:39:28.920 In fact, the place we're staying
00:39:29.920 The guy puts it for sale just one week a year
00:39:31.920 Because he knows he'll make more money in that one week
00:39:34.920 Selling to someone who wants to be here
00:39:36.920 That almost covers rent for the year
00:39:37.920 It's insane
00:39:38.920 But that's the only way we can be here
00:39:40.920 Without spending two hours each way in travel time
00:39:43.920 And I don't want to do that
00:39:44.920 Because I want to spend the time reporting, editing, putting out content
00:39:48.920 And we don't know who we're going to get
00:39:51.920 Last year we didn't know we were going to find Albert Bourla
00:39:53.920 Until we stumbled upon him
00:39:54.920 We didn't know we were going to get Greta
00:39:55.920 Until we bumped into her
00:39:57.920 So there are national presidents here
00:39:59.920 There's bank presidents
00:40:01.920 There's big tech presidents
00:40:03.920 And we're going to try and catch them in this fishing area here tomorrow
00:40:07.920 But please help us out
00:40:08.920 This is the largest financial expenditure
00:40:10.920 Rebel News makes in any journalistic mission of the year
00:40:13.920 Because prices are so jacked up for the World Economic Forum
00:40:17.920 So please go to WEFReports.com
00:40:20.920 Whether it's $5 or $50 or $500
00:40:22.920 We need the help because I want to keep doing it
00:40:24.920 Let me put it this way
00:40:26.920 If we're not going to ask these questions, who will?
00:40:28.920 I'll tell you one thing
00:40:30.920 It won't be the CBC State Broadcaster
00:40:32.920 We'll see you at WEFReports.com
00:40:43.920 It's going to be hard, exhausting work for Ezra and the entire Rebel News team
00:40:55.920 That are right now over in Davos, Switzerland
00:40:58.920 Covering the World Economic Forum
00:41:00.920 If you'd like to see more of their work and support that trip
00:41:03.920 You can go to WEFReports.com
00:41:07.920 But besides being hard work, it's kind of fun, right?
00:41:10.920 Like it is fun sometimes to not be liked by very bad people
00:41:18.920 You know, it's kind of good
00:41:21.920 You feel like you're on the right side of something when bad people don't like you
00:41:25.920 And sometimes it's fun to be the skunk at the garden party
00:41:28.920 Upsetting their little apple cart
00:41:31.920 And it's an incredible opportunity
00:41:33.920 And I think a huge responsibility to take the concerns of the public of Canada
00:41:41.920 But I think also from North America and of course Australia
00:41:44.920 Over to Davos
00:41:46.920 To hold the powerful to account on behalf of the people
00:41:50.920 And I know that's what Ezra and the team are going to do while they're over there
00:41:54.920 Now, if we are publishing a video
00:41:57.920 If we're publishing a news article
00:41:59.920 You're writing us letters and you're leaving us comments
00:42:02.920 You can do that here on one of these
00:42:04.920 But you can also do that on YouTube, Rumble
00:42:08.920 Anywhere that you're finding our content
00:42:10.920 Leave a comment over there
00:42:12.920 We welcome them
00:42:14.920 We want to hear from you
00:42:15.920 Because without you, there's no rebel news
00:42:17.920 Without you, there's no ability for us to do these huge trips
00:42:23.920 Over to places like Davos
00:42:25.920 Where we can put some tough questions to the bad guys
00:42:29.920 That they definitely weren't expecting in their little safe space over there
00:42:34.920 Now, today's letters
00:42:36.920 We've got one to Ezra on his interview with Lorne Gunter
00:42:41.920 One of the good guys at Post Media
00:42:44.920 On Danielle Smith's Canada is Broken video
00:42:48.920 In which she goes off on Environment Minister Steven Gobo's anti-Alberta policies
00:42:55.920 Kevin9106 writes
00:42:57.920 Today, Alberta is hovering at minus 40 below Celsius
00:43:02.920 Just minus 40?
00:43:03.920 Where are you living?
00:43:05.920 Where are you living that you're getting such nice weather?
00:43:08.920 It's way colder for us out here in the rural parts
00:43:11.920 Anyway, our power grid is nearly exhausted
00:43:14.920 An emergency broadcast was sent out asking consumers to unplug vehicle block heaters
00:43:19.920 Do not charge electric vehicles
00:43:21.920 Could you imagine trying to use an electric vehicle
00:43:24.920 When it's like sub minus 44, minus 53 with the wind chill
00:43:28.920 And try to conserve electricity as much as possible
00:43:31.920 Smith has warned us and our clueless federal government
00:43:34.920 That green energy may sound good
00:43:36.920 But doesn't cut it during long cold spells in the middle of winter
00:43:41.920 And here we are now
00:43:42.920 So, where is the power to come from for all these electric vehicles in the future?
00:43:47.920 It takes years to plan and years to build new power stations
00:43:51.920 These are excellent points
00:43:53.920 And this is something that our friends at Friends of Science
00:43:56.920 Have been sounding the alarm bells on for a very long time
00:43:59.920 We don't have the grid right now
00:44:03.920 To support the drastic shift to electric vehicles
00:44:08.920 That the federal government not only wants
00:44:11.920 But are also mandating I think by 2035
00:44:15.920 That all new vehicles must be net zero
00:44:18.920 We don't have the capacity on a good day
00:44:23.920 Now, put in on top of that
00:44:25.920 The fact that the feds won't let us use coal
00:44:28.920 They don't want us to use natural gas
00:44:32.920 They think we can just get by on wind and solar
00:44:36.920 Which is impossible
00:44:37.920 You are going to see rolling brownouts
00:44:40.920 As a matter of just the course of business in Alberta going forward
00:44:48.920 And the most ironic part of all of this is
00:44:51.920 The feds don't want us to use coal here in Alberta
00:44:54.920 And thanks to the NDP Liberal Coalition
00:44:56.920 That ran the show here for dark, dark years
00:45:00.920 Under Rachel Notley as Premier
00:45:03.920 When we have these sorts of power grid potential crises
00:45:10.920 Just looming
00:45:11.920 You know what we do?
00:45:13.920 We buy coal-fired generation
00:45:17.920 At a premium from our good friends in Wyoming
00:45:21.920 So we are not allowed to use our affordable clean burning coal
00:45:25.920 We have about 800 years of which under our feet
00:45:28.920 And I really mean under our feet
00:45:30.920 You can sort of pick it out of the ground in some places
00:45:32.920 It comes out of the riverbeds
00:45:34.920 It's so close to the surface
00:45:36.920 And so easily accessible
00:45:37.920 And some of the most clean burning coal on the face of the earth
00:45:40.920 We're not allowed to use it
00:45:42.920 To produce electricity
00:45:44.920 And also create jobs here in Alberta
00:45:47.920 But if we are in a power grid episode
00:45:50.920 As we've seen the last little bit
00:45:52.920 We just buy coal-fired electricity
00:45:57.920 At a premium I might add
00:45:59.920 From our good friends in Wyoming
00:46:00.920 So we're not getting off coal
00:46:02.920 We're just getting off our coal
00:46:04.920 And I guess getting off the jobs that go along with it
00:46:08.920 Let's keep going
00:46:09.920 That was a great, great comment
00:46:11.920 Leslie Ross, 9729
00:46:13.920 Trudeau likes to deal with provinces and cities separately
00:46:16.920 And divide them
00:46:17.920 The premiers and mayors are letting him away with it
00:46:19.920 Canada needs to stick together
00:46:20.920 No, I have
00:46:22.920 I'm of two minds here
00:46:24.920 The provinces, particularly the prairie provinces
00:46:27.920 And the territories
00:46:29.920 And, you know, like
00:46:33.920 Some other jurisdictions across the country too
00:46:35.920 On many issues
00:46:37.920 From the carbon tax to parents' rights
00:46:39.920 Are sticking together
00:46:41.920 The cog in the wheel
00:46:46.920 Of that unity
00:46:48.920 Across the prairies
00:46:50.920 But also across the country
00:46:52.920 On several contentious issues
00:46:54.920 And they're not really all that contentious
00:46:56.920 They're contentious in that the liberals
00:46:58.920 Disagree with common sense on these issues
00:47:00.920 Is the fact that
00:47:02.920 Our cities are generally led by radical progressives
00:47:09.920 It is the case in Calgary
00:47:11.920 With G.O.D. Gondek
00:47:12.920 It is definitely the case in Edmonton
00:47:14.920 With Trudeau's
00:47:16.920 Former Natural Resources Minister
00:47:18.920 Emmerjit Sohi being in charge
00:47:20.920 It's the case in Toronto
00:47:21.920 It's the case in Montreal
00:47:22.920 It's the case in Vancouver
00:47:24.920 I believe it's the case in Regina
00:47:26.920 It
00:47:29.920 The moral of the story though here is
00:47:32.920 If we want things to change
00:47:35.920 We need to, as conservatives
00:47:37.920 And I say small c conservatives
00:47:39.920 I'm non-partisan on this issue
00:47:41.920 But if you care about
00:47:43.920 Common sense, personal responsibility
00:47:44.920 Fiscal accountability
00:47:45.920 And the right for you to determine
00:47:48.920 The way in which you want to raise your kids
00:47:50.920 With your own values
00:47:51.920 Then conservatives have to start paying to politics
00:47:55.920 Paying attention to politics closer to home
00:47:57.920 So we have to pay attention to what happens at the school boards
00:48:02.920 All these crazy gender theory nonsense issues
00:48:05.920 That's happening at a school board level
00:48:08.920 Imagine if we had a bunch of conservatives on the school board
00:48:11.920 Instead of not paying attention
00:48:12.920 And then progressives get elected
00:48:14.920 And you're like what on earth are they teaching my children
00:48:17.920 You had a say
00:48:19.920 You just didn't take it at the school board election
00:48:22.920 Municipal politics
00:48:24.920 We need more conservatives
00:48:28.920 At the municipal level
00:48:29.920 Serving as a counterbalance
00:48:30.920 To the NDP farm team
00:48:34.920 That city councils have turned out to be
00:48:37.920 I mean I think I can count on my hand
00:48:40.920 Three fingers maybe
00:48:42.920 The loose conservatives
00:48:46.920 On Calgary city council
00:48:48.920 Like Dan McClain
00:48:50.920 Sean Chu
00:48:51.920 I mean basically that's it
00:48:53.920 Sorry I said three
00:48:54.920 But I can really only name two off the top of my head
00:48:56.920 That's a real problem
00:48:58.920 If you
00:48:59.920 And those are the politics that affect you first
00:49:02.920 Because they're closer to you
00:49:03.920 The good news is
00:49:05.920 Those are the politics that if you organize
00:49:07.920 Even just friends and family
00:49:09.920 You can make a big difference there
00:49:11.920 Cindy Steve Martin 4020 writes
00:49:14.920 Net zero is impossible and unnecessary
00:49:17.920 Be the first politician to say that
00:49:19.920 Enough of this madness
00:49:21.920 Yes
00:49:23.920 If you need a cold snap of sub minus 45
00:49:30.920 To teach you about net zero
00:49:32.920 I'm happy to suffer through it
00:49:34.920 But let this be the last time we have to learn this lesson
00:49:39.920 There's no way that net zero is achievable
00:49:44.920 And it's not even necessary
00:49:46.920 And also again
00:49:48.920 I go back to my friends at Friends of Science
00:49:50.920 They've also pointed out
00:49:51.920 Look if you are for net zero
00:49:56.920 And if you are worried about Canada's carbon emissions
00:50:00.920 And I'm not worried about neither one of those things
00:50:02.920 But the left won't shut up about it
00:50:04.920 Then really they should be against absolute out of control immigration
00:50:12.920 From the warmer parts of the world
00:50:14.920 Why?
00:50:15.920 Because you're importing people
00:50:16.920 From equatorial places
00:50:19.920 Where renewables work
00:50:21.920 Wind and solar work
00:50:22.920 Sort of the closer you get to the equator
00:50:24.920 And like the days and nights are sort of equal
00:50:28.920 As opposed to the five and a half hours of daylight we get here
00:50:34.920 In the darkest recesses of winter
00:50:38.920 And it's brutally cold now
00:50:40.920 But like generally in the winter
00:50:42.920 Every couple of weeks we're just like
00:50:43.920 Oh big deep freeze again
00:50:46.920 You should be concerned
00:50:48.920 Because you are taking people with a lower carbon footprint
00:50:51.920 And stuffing them into a country
00:50:53.920 Where they are going to have a higher carbon footprint
00:50:56.920 And like if you care about net zero
00:51:00.920 And the liberals tell me they do
00:51:02.920 They might want to rethink some of their
00:51:04.920 Out of control immigration policies
00:51:08.920 Or all of their policies in general
00:51:11.920 But introspection is not something the left is all that great at
00:51:17.920 Well everybody that's the show for tonight
