00:00:00.000 Hello, my rebels. Who has helped Vladimir Putin in Russia more than anyone else?
00:00:06.480 Well, I would say it is whoever has suppressed oil and gas competition. By that, I mean whoever
00:00:13.080 has stopped the oil sands. Because Russia's power, economic power, its political power,
00:00:19.400 is its oil and gas near monopoly in Europe. So who has done more than anyone to stop the
00:00:26.520 competition? I would say his name is Gerald Butts, and I'll make the case for that today.
00:00:33.160 Before I do, let me invite you to become a subscriber to Rebel News Plus. That's our
00:00:36.440 video version of these podcasts. It's eight bucks a month. Go to rebelnewsplus.com.
00:00:40.960 You get daily videos from me, weekly videos from four of my colleagues. Eight bucks a month,
00:00:46.700 that's not a lot. That's half the price of Netflix. And of course, it helps us stay independent. We
00:00:50.820 don't take a dime from Justin Trudeau, and I think it shows. Just go to rebelnewsplus.com and click
00:00:56.240 subscribe. All right, here's today's show.
00:01:14.560 Tonight, there really isn't a Canadian angle to the Ukraine war, but if there was, it would
00:01:19.880 involve the oil sands. It's February 28th, and this is the Ezra Levant Show.
00:01:26.240 Why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon consumer I know?
00:01:30.160 There's 8,500 customers here, and you won't give them an answer.
00:01:34.240 The only thing I have to say to the government, the wire publisher, is because it's my bloody
00:01:39.100 right to do so.
00:01:45.120 There are a lot of Ukrainians in Canada. Many came over more than a century ago, especially
00:01:51.940 in Western Canada. That's actually my family story from 1903. Here's one famous Ukrainian
00:01:57.940 Canadian, Wayne Gretzky. He was born in Canada, and so was his dad, Walter. I think a lot of
00:02:04.180 people see Russia as the aggressor here. It's not common to see such a brazen invasion of
00:02:10.260 another country. So here's Wayne Gretzky saying that Russia should not be allowed to send athletes
00:02:15.540 to the World Juniors hockey competition being held this year in Alberta.
00:02:18.960 Hockey gets, sports gets zeroed in on, right? If we're going to send hockey players home,
00:02:24.520 we should send everybody home, right? It's not just hockey players. There's a lot of other people
00:02:28.580 here who are making a living. But one of the things, I was so glad to see the Polish soccer
00:02:34.980 team step up and say we're not going to play against them. And I think international hockey
00:02:39.000 should say we're not going to let them play in the World Junior Hockey Tournament. I think we've got to,
00:02:42.720 as Canadians, take that stance since the games are going to be played in Edmonton.
00:02:47.640 I sympathize with Gretzky. International sports are a source of prestige for nations. They're
00:02:53.240 a symbol of solidarity and fraternity. It's pretty hard to hold a symbol of brotherly togetherness
00:02:58.720 when there is an actual war going on. But does anyone remember that just a few weeks ago,
00:03:05.640 Communist China actually held the Olympics, and Canada sent a full delegation, not just
00:03:11.460 of athletes and coaches, but journalists and endless hangers on. And not a peep about China's
00:03:17.960 totalitarian regime. That's not good for ratings to talk about that kind of stuff. No talking about
00:03:23.580 a million Uyghur Muslims put in concentration camps, not even a word about the three Canadian hostages
00:03:29.600 who were held for nearly three years by that regime. Nope, just lots of ads for Coca-Cola and Panasonic
00:03:36.240 and Toyota and Visa. I mean, if Disney can make a movie in China and literally thank the secret police
00:03:44.200 who arrest the Uyghurs in the movie credits, seriously. And if Nike can literally lobby the
00:03:51.620 US government for the right to use slave labor in Xinjiang, why not have some sports ball? I mean,
00:03:57.620 seriously. So I hear Wayne Gretzky and I'm sympathetic. I think it'd be weird to have the Russian team
00:04:03.640 in Alberta, even though the players are under 20. They're not political. They're just kids,
00:04:09.020 really. But still, I get it. But how come we didn't boycott China? Is it because it's too tough
00:04:15.220 to do that? Because literally everything in Walmart and Costco and your favorite store is made in China.
00:04:20.700 And not just junk. Your computer is probably made there too. Your cell phone, probably. Your clothes,
00:04:26.860 maybe. More of your food than you might expect. Apples, fish, almost all of the medicine you take
00:04:33.740 made in China. So maybe it's what, the inconvenience? Here's Justin Trudeau saying he's going to crack
00:04:39.940 down super hard on Vladimir Putin and his inner circle, as if they have a savings account at TD Bank
00:04:46.520 or something. Today, Canada is announcing our third set of severe coordinated sanctions. First,
00:04:56.240 we will be imposing sanctions on President Putin and his fellow architects of this barbaric war,
00:05:03.920 his chief of staff and foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov. These men bear the greatest responsibility
00:05:11.360 for the death and destruction occurring in Ukraine. Additionally, I am confirming Canada's support
00:05:18.340 to remove Russia from the swift payment system, a critical part of the global banking system.
00:05:25.080 We've made it clear that all options are on the table when it comes to imposing steep costs on Russia's
00:05:31.540 unjustified and unprovoked invasion. And that includes taking steps to exclude Russia from making financial
00:05:38.740 transactions around the world. Excluding Russian banks from SWIFT would make it even more difficult
00:05:45.520 for President Putin to finance his brutalities. Canada is also announcing that we will levy additional
00:05:53.240 sanctions on Belarus and its leaders for abetting President Putin's invasion of a free and sovereign nation.
00:06:01.420 These will target 57 individuals and are in addition to the dozens of existing strong sanctions
00:06:08.560 already leveled against Alexander Lukashenko's regime for their repeated systematic human rights violations
00:06:16.340 and decades of oppression of their own people. Yeah, Trudeau banning the Russian cabinet from banking
00:06:23.400 in Canada is like me banning any supermodels from dating me. And I mean it this time. We didn't ban anything
00:06:31.740 from China after they gave us the deathly gift of COVID-19. We didn't even ban flights. We didn't
00:06:39.520 ban anything for their concentration camps, for the Canadians they took hostage. And when they invade Taiwan,
00:06:45.400 which I think is a lot more likely now than ever before, we won't ban anything then either.
00:06:51.520 Canada literally continues to give money to China in the form of foreign aid, even now.
00:06:57.220 In fact, it's gone up. Trudeau has poured money into China to help their research into how to fight
00:07:04.840 COVID-19. He paid it to the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Swear to God. But back to Russia. Trudeau
00:07:12.220 and fidgety Chrystia Freeland are talking very tough about Russia. And they want to cut off Russia from
00:07:18.080 the rest of the world financially, including from the international money transferring system called
00:07:23.180 SWIFT. That's the Global Financial Transactions and Payments Information System. It's how millions of
00:07:29.800 payments are made every day amongst thousands of banks. So over the weekend, it looked like Russia would
00:07:36.180 be cut out of SWIFT payments. I heard stories about credit cards associated with Russian banks just not
00:07:42.100 working anymore. There were lineups at Russian banks as people withdrew their cash. That's probably a good
00:07:47.720 idea. But I noticed, and it was hard not to notice, that there was an exemption for financial
00:07:53.660 transactions having to do with oil and gas. Well, that's sort of like saying you're going to boycott
00:07:59.200 Iran except for oil and gas. I mean, oil and gas are literally a majority of Russia's exports to the
00:08:05.500 world. In fact, Russia produces four times as much oil and gas as Iran does. On the gas side,
00:08:12.900 Germany is heavily dependent on Russian natural gas. And some Eastern European and Baltic countries,
00:08:21.680 it's close to 90, 100% of their energy comes from Russia. Remember, Russia has simply turned off the
00:08:27.500 taps to Ukraine before in the dead of winter as a political punishment. So my point is Trudeau and
00:08:33.700 Chrystia Freeland promised to shut down bank accounts of the Russian oligarchs, but none of them bank in
00:08:39.040 Canada. Trudeau and Freeland promised to shut down Russian banking altogether, but not for oil that
00:08:45.660 they sell to the world. Same with Joe Biden and the United States. Bizarrely, they have exempted oil and
00:08:52.220 gas from any sanctions because Biden canceled the Keystone XL pipeline. It was one of his very first
00:08:58.180 things he did upon taking office. And wouldn't you know it, those 800,000 barrels of oil a day would
00:09:03.320 nicely displace the oil coming to the U.S. from Russia. But what are you going to do? Just stop
00:09:09.440 driving? So they have to keep buying that Russian oil. Or maybe, I don't know, maybe use solar-powered
00:09:15.040 cars and solar-powered planes or something. And maybe Ukraine should too or something. That's what
00:09:21.060 Jem Psaki says. On oil leases, what this actually justifies in President Biden's view is the fact that
00:09:27.480 we need to reduce our dependence on foreign oil, on oil in general, and we need to look at other ways
00:09:33.320 of having energy in our country and others. One of the interesting things, George, we've seen over
00:09:38.420 the last week or so is that a number of European countries are recognizing they need to reduce
00:09:43.420 their own reliance on Russian oil. So that's America. It has always imported oil. But why would
00:09:48.840 Canada buy oil from Russia too? And we have so much oil here. Well, not really, because Gerald
00:09:56.500 Butts, Trudeau's right-hand man since they were in college together, who has somehow become polite
00:10:01.280 company again despite his disgraceful, unethical, corrupt conduct during the SNC-Lavalin scandal
00:10:07.560 and his interference in the prosecution of a crime. How did he get back into the Ottawa polite
00:10:13.000 company scene? I don't know. Well, remember that before he worked for Trudeau, he ran the World
00:10:18.860 Wildlife Fund of Canada. And here's what he said about Canada's own pipeline projects to bring
00:10:24.600 ethical Canadian oil from Alberta to the world. I'm going to show you two video clips. They were
00:10:31.100 both about the Northern Gateway pipeline, which would have taken Alberta oil to Vancouver,
00:10:35.180 which could then have been shipped on the world market to compete with Russia. But it applies
00:10:40.740 to the two other pipelines at Trudeau and Buttskill too, including Energy East, which would have
00:10:46.680 sent oil to Canada's largest refinery in St. John New Brunswick, which instead buys its oil on the
00:10:55.240 open market from places like Russia and Saudi Arabia. So here is Gerald Butts saying no more
00:11:00.600 dirty Alberta oil. Truth be told, we don't think there ought to be a carbon-based energy industry by
00:11:06.680 the middle of this century. That's our policy in Canada, and it's our policy all over the world.
00:11:11.760 You can choose to fight this fight on locking us into a high-carbon economy for five decades.
00:11:17.020 And I think that's a very reasonable perspective to take. In fact, it's one we do take. So we don't
00:11:25.980 think that we think that the oil sands have been expanded too rapidly without a serious plan for
00:11:32.520 environmental remediation in the first place. So that's why we don't think it's up to us to decide
00:11:38.200 whether there should be another another route for a pipeline, because the real alternative is not an
00:11:44.720 alternative route. It's an alternative economy. Oh, so no more dirty Alberta oil, but dirty Russian
00:11:51.020 oil is fine. Here he is again. We ought to have a robust sense of our own possibilities from an
00:12:00.600 energy perspective. And to date, the national discussion on energy has almost been entirely
00:12:05.540 circumscribed around fossil fuels. And we have abundant sources of geothermal, solar, wind,
00:12:13.720 hydro energy that aren't part of that conversation. So it ought to be a more balanced one.
00:12:18.920 Those are both clips from much longer anti-oil rants. You know, back then, that was about a
00:12:24.760 decade ago, Butts worked for the World Wildlife Fund. That sounds pretty friendly, but they're
00:12:29.480 actually as corrupt as they come. Millions of dollars in dark foreign money. Here's a document
00:12:36.000 from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund back in 2008 when Butts was actually just getting going at the
00:12:41.920 World Wildlife Fund. I've shown you this document before. It's their anti-oil sands battle plan.
00:12:48.320 Page 11 shows the map of the oil sands projects and pipelines they planned to kill, and they did kill
00:12:53.700 them. Page 12 is important. It shows you the various NGOs, Greenpeace, the Sierra Club. And in the top
00:13:00.240 right, you can see Butts' own group, the World Wildlife Fund. Seven million bucks a year, you can see.
00:13:05.700 Page 24 shows what that's for, just jamming up the system, which they did. You know, I remember when
00:13:13.840 the truckers were crowdfunding and Gerald Butts was all over the TV talking about dark money and foreign
00:13:19.700 money and how it was going to corrupt Canadian politics. The joke is those were a ton of little
00:13:24.920 $25 gifts from ordinary people. The vast majority of the givers were from Canada. And of course, the money
00:13:30.020 was seized. It wasn't given anyways. But that's called psychological projection because Gerald Butts
00:13:34.780 knows all about taking dark foreign money to mess around in Canadian politics. It's what he did at the
00:13:40.380 World Wildlife Fund. And then he continued that work when he went to Ottawa as Trudeau's top aide.
00:13:47.820 Say, who spent all sorts of money secretly fighting against oil and gas in the West?
00:13:54.040 Some left-wing anti-oil groups, for sure, like Greenpeace, you bet. But my point is, who funded
00:13:59.720 them? Because you don't see Greenpeace campaigning against fracking in Russia or against really
00:14:06.460 anything in China, the most polluted place in the world. Canada uses as much oil and gas as ever, but
00:14:12.380 it's just imported now from Russia, Saudi Arabia, that kind of thing. So who is the hidden hand?
00:14:19.160 Who's pouring in the dark money to kill the oil sands?
00:14:25.280 Let's get back to Russia for a moment. Here's the former head of NATO, Anders Fogh-Rasmussen,
00:14:31.380 explaining that Russia and Gazprom were spending millions of dollars in anti-fracking and anti-drilling
00:14:39.320 environmentalist campaigns in the West to stop, in particular, Europe from drilling its own natural
00:14:46.120 gas. It had to be hidden donations or it would be too obvious. People would react negatively
00:14:51.240 to Russia trying to fight against Western oil and gas. But what a rate of return. They spend $50
00:14:57.840 million in fake eco-activism and sell $50 billion in Russian natural gas. That's a pretty good rate
00:15:06.940 of return. So yeah, Gerald Butts accepted foreign money to fight against Canada's oil sands. And let me ask
00:15:15.200 you, is there any other Canadian who has done as much to stop Canada's oil sands from being exported
00:15:22.580 to Europe or Asia? Well, let me put it in another way. Is there any Canadian who has done as much
00:15:30.260 to help Vladimir Putin by keeping Canada out of action as an oil and gas competitor?
00:15:37.800 Tovarich Butts, comrade Butts, has done a very good job. He should be Putin's ambassador to Canada. He's earned it.
00:15:48.920 And he's the reason why Trudeau can't say no to Russian oil and gas. And neither can Europe either.
00:15:54.860 Stay with us for more.
00:16:08.700 Well, of course, we've been very focused on news in Canada for two years and in the last month during
00:16:14.400 the Trucker Rebellion. And of course, the war, I think it's a war, between Russia and Ukraine is
00:16:21.200 taking up so much bandwidth. But other things are going on in the world. And every year in the United
00:16:27.000 States, there's a giant conservative convention called CPAC that used to be held in Washington,
00:16:33.680 D.C. But it's moved to the freer territory of Florida, where they don't have limits on gatherings
00:16:40.740 and mask mandates and vax mandates. And wouldn't you know it, one of our journalists, Yankee Pollack,
00:16:47.320 well, he moved to Florida last year because of all the crazy lockdowns in Montreal. So besides doing
00:16:54.280 the work he does in any given day, Yankee went down to CPAC to fly the Rebel News flag and to ask
00:17:02.180 Americans about Canadian issues if they've been following it. And indeed, they have. And joining
00:17:07.300 me now via Skype from Florida is our friend, Yankee Pollack. Yankee, you've been doing double duty.
00:17:13.420 You have a real job at Rebel News, but you've also gone to the CPAC convention as a video
00:17:19.780 journalist. Thanks for working so hard this past week.
00:17:23.540 Yes, thank you. Yeah, it was amazing at CPAC. So many conservatives, so many people. There are
00:17:31.460 thousands of people, almost no masks in sight. The only masks I saw were on the media class.
00:17:38.480 They still wear their mask in solidarity of the left-wing movement.
00:17:44.640 Isn't that funny? Now, what city or town is CPAC in and what venue? Because I've been a couple
00:17:49.560 times in Washington, D.C., and it's always fun to go to Washington. Of course, I can't really travel
00:17:54.320 these days, but it sounds like they've moved to free or Florida. Where is it being hosted in Florida?
00:18:01.760 So it was hosted in a big resort in Florida. The name escapes me right now. Big venue. I'm not sure
00:18:11.700 if it's bigger or smaller than the CPAC that used to be in D.C. It's been two years since I went to
00:18:18.320 that one last. But it was big, lots of people, and a lot of talk about freedom.
00:18:25.280 Where was that, in Orlando? Orlando. Well, that sounds super fun. I mean, I tell you,
00:18:31.060 Yank, I know you're enjoying the Florida sun down there, but it's still pretty snowy in much of
00:18:35.140 Canada. Well, I want to show some of the clips because just before we turn the camera on,
00:18:40.280 you were saying to me that a lot of people in CPAC, when they saw you holding the Rebel News
00:18:49.060 microphone flash, they gave you a shout out because they recognized the name, Rebel News,
00:18:54.200 from our coverage of the trucker convoy. And just give me a little bit of what that was like
00:18:58.800 before we go to the video clips. What did people say when they could detect that you were from Rebel
00:19:03.520 News? A lot of people came over to me and just said, thank you for showing what the trucker,
00:19:10.000 the trucker convoys across Canada, and thanking our reporters for being there, Alexa, Lincoln,
00:19:18.900 who else was there, Maurizio, David. I can't even remember everyone. Everyone will be mad that
00:19:23.620 they've missed them. But we had, I believe, at some point, over 12 people there. And people
00:19:30.960 came and went. So people were very thankful for us being there and showing the other side
00:19:36.600 of the story. And even some people mentioning Avi, the work he's been doing in Australia.
00:19:42.640 I love Avi. You love Avi? Yeah, I'm obsessed with Avi. I love him. So a lot of people just saw the
00:19:50.920 Rebel News microphone. They didn't know necessarily who I was, but they knew the Rebel News brand. And
00:19:56.040 they came over to make sure that I know that they appreciate the work that all of us are doing at Rebel.
00:20:02.800 You know, I'm thrilled to hear that. And I think it's true. You know, I think in the last 30 days,
00:20:07.600 we've had 400 million views and impressions. Just that's my estimate trying to add up all the
00:20:14.140 different bits and pieces on Twitter and YouTube and Rumble. And it's really been an incredible month.
00:20:21.100 And I think we've had more traffic in that one month than we had in the previous year,
00:20:24.660 which shows that the interest people have. So let's go to some of the videos you took.
00:20:30.140 Why don't you introduce a few clips? One of my favorite people you met down there was not even an
00:20:35.820 American, although I think he's sort of an honorary American, Nigel Farage, the former leader of the
00:20:40.380 UKIP party. Just a great guy. You talked to him for a little bit about Putin, and then you asked him
00:20:46.080 about the truckers. Let's take a quick look at that video.
00:20:49.740 Well, look, you know, I mean, I have to say, you know, Putin's gone a long way further than I hope.
00:20:55.240 I didn't. I hope he wouldn't go this far. I kind of understood those eastern provinces being
00:21:00.360 Russian speaking. Western Ukraine does not want to be with Moscow. We've provoked much of it over
00:21:06.480 the years with our ridiculous geopolitics of expanding the EU and NATO. But we are where we
00:21:10.640 are. And we now need American leadership on NATO to say there is a red line here with Poland and
00:21:16.320 Estonia. And that's very important. Okay, thanks. And what is your opinion on the Canadian truckers,
00:21:22.660 but the truckers all around the world? Well, look, you know, up the truckers.
00:21:25.820 I like that guy. And by the way, for Canadians who don't know that phrase, when you say up the
00:21:32.200 truckers, it doesn't mean up yours. It's a different meaning. It means yay. It's like hooray or up with
00:21:40.000 the truckers. Like it's a British sort of football cheer. So that's what that meant. Tell me about some
00:21:47.160 of the other folks you meant and throw to those clips. Yeah, I met Senator Josh Hawley from Missouri,
00:21:53.860 and I asked him about Arthur Poblowski, which has been in jail now for two weeks. And he said that
00:22:00.900 Canada should be put on an anti-religious freedoms list, which is scary. You know, I grew up in Canada,
00:22:07.120 lived in Canada most of my life. I always looked at Canada as a free country. Well, until COVID came
00:22:13.500 along. And Canada deserves to be called out for persecuting pastors. And it's not only Pastor Art,
00:22:19.620 there's a whole list of pastors. Pastor Phil Hutchings, Pastor... Oh, there's so many...
00:22:28.040 James Coates from Edmonton. He was in jail for 35 days. Yeah, you know what? I wish more Canadian
00:22:33.720 senators cared as much as American senators. Here's Senator Josh Hawley.
00:22:37.880 A few months ago, you came out about Canada arresting pastors. Pastor Arthur Poblowski has
00:22:46.060 been in jail for two weeks now again. Is there anything you think we could call Canada out on
00:22:51.900 that? I know you did a letter about that in the past. Yeah, I think one of the things is,
00:22:56.640 is that Canada needs to... The United States keeps a designation of folks who are religious
00:23:03.620 liberty violators, nations that are religious liberty violators. I've called for Canada to
00:23:08.080 be put on that list. And I think that we need to consider all of the options that are available
00:23:11.620 for that. I'm going to go in here. Yeah, of course. Yeah, I will. Yeah, you know.
00:23:15.340 You know, that was your question that prompted that. And I know that Fox News covered that
00:23:19.200 answer as well, because a lot of people really care about that. They also met some fun people,
00:23:27.640 including Mike Lindell, the boss of MyPillow. He's a larger than life character.
00:23:33.620 And he's become a Republican hero. Let's take a quick look at that.
00:23:37.760 Yankee Public, Rebel News. Who are you? Rebel News. Who's that?
00:23:41.240 Ezra Levin. Are you a left-wing nutjob? No, a right-wing nutjob.
00:23:45.920 What can I do for you? Tell me your experience at the Canadian border.
00:23:49.100 The Canadian border. Well, contrary to the lies of the media, I was not there myself. The trucks,
00:23:55.760 all of the pillows now are in Ottawa. I got them across through New York. And I did not put them
00:24:02.080 in parachutes and drop them in. That was all fake news. What's your message for the Canadian
00:24:08.980 truckers? The truckers, what they did was so important at this time in history, because
00:24:15.100 all of those mandates came down in Canada, like Ontario. All these places, they pulled down the
00:24:20.400 man. Now, remember, they said, well, we didn't pull them down because of the truckers. It was just
00:24:24.900 the right time. Right. Okay. But it worked. The truckers, they got all these. Like, I'll give
00:24:31.080 an example. I used to go to Ontario every year, still do, with my dad fishing when I was a kid,
00:24:37.620 all the way up, even my family going now. But we couldn't go fishing the last couple years up there.
00:24:42.320 And we go way in northern Canada with this tribe. There's about 1,200 Indians that live up there.
00:24:47.700 And they count 100 percent on United States fishermen and hunters up there. Their economy
00:24:53.600 just got completely ruined during this COVID crap with the mandates. Right. So it's all good now up
00:25:01.480 there. Well, that's great to get him. And so his complaint is with the fake news in Canada and the
00:25:09.980 States. I believe that people love to attack him because he doesn't bend the knee. He's very,
00:25:15.340 he's a stubborn Trump supporter. And the diehard Trump fans love him. And the Trump derangement
00:25:22.520 folks hate him so much, don't they? They do. They certainly do. And, you know,
00:25:28.460 I sleep on my pillow every night. So I certainly love his products.
00:25:33.380 There's a couple more vids I wouldn't mind showing. I'm not that familiar with this next politician.
00:25:38.460 I think he's a Republican from Florida. Rick Scott, let's take a look.
00:25:41.800 Thank you, Senator. What should America do about Ukraine and the crisis? And with Russia,
00:25:46.980 should America get involved? How much? I think we ought to do everything we can
00:25:50.180 to help the Ukrainian government, the military, and the citizens defend themselves.
00:25:56.080 I'm glad that we finally have gotten rid of Nord Stream 2. That needs to be permanent,
00:25:59.580 that Nord Stream 2 never happens. We've got to get back and make this country
00:26:03.260 energy independent so we can be supportive, not only of our own economy, but economies around
00:26:08.020 the world, our allies. On top of that, we've got to do everything we can to make it...
00:26:13.200 From everything on top of that, what we ought to be doing is making sure Putin's held accountable.
00:26:20.420 I'm glad that we're doing sanctions against Putin. We ought to keep doing it.
00:26:22.720 I think we ought to provide whatever resources we can to make sure they can...
00:26:25.920 Should we... We should give weapons to Ukraine?
00:26:27.620 Should we... We should continue to give weapons to Ukraine?
00:26:29.200 Should we restart building the Keystone XL to help America?
00:26:33.300 We've got to do everything. We've got to do the Keystone. We've got to allow more drilling safely
00:26:37.260 in this country. Thanks, everybody.
00:26:38.940 So he's a Florida politician, but I tell you, Yankee, the Florida politician I want to hear
00:26:45.420 about more than anyone is the current governor, Ron DeSantis, who many say has presidential qualities,
00:26:53.160 which I would agree with. He's been a real leader on the lockdowns. And in a number of straw polls,
00:26:59.780 I mean, Trump still wins the straw polls, but if Trump is not in the mix, Ron DeSantis comes out
00:27:05.260 head and shoulders above. Was Ron DeSantis at CPAC or maybe just not at the same time you were there?
00:27:10.560 He was there. I unfortunately couldn't speak with him, but I was in the room when he gave a speech.
00:27:19.180 That was on Thursday, I believe, that he gave a speech. But I unfortunately couldn't get a hold of
00:27:27.640 him. He has a lot of security around him and he didn't come out to the public or at least I didn't
00:27:32.140 see him. Yeah, I believe he has a lot of security. I mean, he really could be if things break a
00:27:37.740 certain way, he really could be the next president of the United States. So I imagine being a governor
00:27:43.120 of a very large state like Florida is a high profile job enough. Well, I'm delighted you went
00:27:49.280 and I've been there in the past and it it really is in my life. It would be like my Twitter feed
00:27:54.620 coming to life because all these people in journalism and politics and punditry that I sort of follow
00:28:00.540 electronically. All of a sudden, they're standing right in front of me and it's a fun feeling.
00:28:05.520 It has sort of a reunion feeling. And we're in Canada, which isn't really the center of the action.
00:28:10.860 But you know what? For the last six weeks, I think Canada actually has been the center of the action.
00:28:15.960 And I think you got a little taste of that.
00:28:19.140 Yeah. I mean, I missed out a lot not being in Ottawa, but I was here and following it and helping
00:28:24.920 the team. But yeah, it was definitely center of the action at CPAC. There were so many people
00:28:30.520 there. And I interviewed a lot of people. We'll see when the videos get released. We could see them
00:28:38.160 at you could see them at rebelcpac.com as they will be published. I had an interview with former
00:28:46.160 member of parliament, Kerry Diot, and that interview will be released soon. And Sebastian Gorka as well.
00:28:53.780 Well, it sounds like you were busy. You know, I look forward to seeing that at rebelcpac.com.
00:28:59.220 Yankee, thanks for burning the candle at both ends. You have a lot of work as our social media boss,
00:29:04.860 keeping us going on Instagram and Twitter and all our other accounts. And then you were doing
00:29:10.000 video journalism too. So we thank you for doing double duty. Great to see you again.
00:29:14.920 Thank you.
00:29:15.540 All right. There you have it. Yankee Pollock from rebelcpac.com. Stay with us. More ahead.
00:29:23.780 Hey, welcome back. Your letters to me. Someone with the nickname Think for Yourself says,
00:29:37.780 I used to be prejudiced against Ezra LeFant years ago. I was a leftist. Now I am a big fan of his
00:29:43.060 work and rebel news. They have told the truth over the last two years while the mainstream media has
00:29:47.360 lied to us. Not only that, but rebel has helped people with fight the fines and they have been
00:29:51.940 beaten and arrested for doing good journalism by an authoritarian, tyrannical government. I have
00:29:55.940 immense respect for rebel now. Well, that's pretty friendly. Thank you for that.
00:30:01.020 Someone named Ian Tuck says, nice to see Canadian flags being flown by the U.S. truckers. Yeah,
00:30:06.820 wasn't that fun? I liked that one that was half Canadian, half American. I don't think I'd ever
00:30:10.800 seen that before. Candy C says, I was astounded listening to this. I literally spoke out loud the
00:30:17.260 words, oh my word, and wow, twice. This judge gave a ruling that was filled with a sense of
00:30:22.020 level-headedness that is sorely lacking this day and age. It was so well articulated and well thought
00:30:27.220 out that you would think it was a ruling from Solomon himself. Judge, if you happen to be reading
00:30:31.340 the comments, I wish I could shake your hand. You're talking about that judge in Ontario who really
00:30:38.340 was Solomonic and how he dealt with the mom and the dad fighting over a vaccine for the kids.
00:30:43.380 There was so much common sense there. And I see that there's a ruling in New Zealand now
00:30:47.620 against vaccine mandates and a ruling in the United Kingdom that we were involved with for a family
00:30:54.340 there. I think judges are having a hangover. They realize that they were drunk on authoritarian
00:31:01.340 public health power too. And some of them are saying, yikes, what did I do last night? Who's that
00:31:06.340 in my bed? What a headache. And they're thinking, hmm, can we just pretend the last two years didn't
00:31:13.440 happen? That's what I think is going on. Well, that's our show for today. Until tomorrow,
00:31:17.580 on behalf of all of us here at Rebel World Headquarters, to you at home, good night.
00:31:21.940 And keep fighting for freedom. And let me leave you with our video of the day from Jeremy Lafredo
00:31:25.760 on truckers pushing back against the extremist far-right corporate media slander.
00:31:31.720 I'll say goodbye to you now and leave you with that.
00:31:37.320 I'm Jeremy Lafredo on assignment for Rebel News in Glen Rio, New Mexico, covering the U.S.
00:31:42.240 truckers convoy traveling across the nation to the country's capital to demand an end to vaccine
00:31:46.300 mandates. While the mainstream media claims these people are extremists, conspiracy theorists,
00:31:50.540 and far-right, it has effectively manufactured consent for the Pentagon's latest move to send
00:31:54.920 troops to the capital in preparation for the convoys' arrival. I spoke to many of the
00:31:58.620 convoy's trucker participants earlier today to set the record straight about the movement's aims
00:32:02.400 and beliefs. It's all false. We're right down the middle. We don't care one side or the other.
00:32:07.820 This year is about world freedom. Ending the mandates, getting rid of the Emergency Powers Act.
00:32:15.640 Okay? That's all it is. So we can go back to work as American citizens. Okay? We're just tired of being
00:32:21.580 restricted. I mean, honestly, I don't think any of it's founded. I mean, most truckers,
00:32:27.780 they just want to do their job. They just want to go pick up from point A to point B,
00:32:32.940 drop their stuff, and have a good life. We want to get rid of the mandates, first and foremost.
00:32:39.820 Do I want to see some things accomplished through this? Absolutely. Do they not like it? Probably not.
00:32:45.620 Right? But that's only because it stands against their agenda. I don't care what your agenda is.
00:32:51.800 You need to be reminded that you work for the American people, not the other way around.
00:32:56.320 I don't have a problem with people that want to take the vaccine. I have a problem with them
00:33:00.840 telling us to take the vaccine. I know there's a lot of talk about this whole thing on both sides of
00:33:06.280 it. If it's good, bad, if we're, you know, crazy people or whatever. We're not. We're not extremists.
00:33:11.260 We're not terrorists, as the government is trying to make us out to be. We're American people that
00:33:16.360 love the Constitution, love our freedoms, and we see what our government has done to us over, I mean,
00:33:22.360 over a long course of time, but specifically in the last two years.
00:33:25.880 We're trying to frame us as being kind of some far-right movement or an extremist group that
00:33:30.760 wants to go and, like, storm the halls of the Capitol and whatever. But we're far from it. This
00:33:36.800 convoy is all about peace and unity. It's about coming together and standing up for our freedoms.
00:33:43.900 And are we making a statement, trucking across the country like this? Yes. Why are they worried about
00:33:49.260 us? Because it's people uniting. And it's people uniting from both sides of the aisle. It's the
00:33:53.460 American people coming together. So they can try to spin it any way they want. But the people of
00:33:57.920 America that are lining our roads, the people that are in this convoy, will tell you that they're
00:34:02.220 lying to you. Anybody just comes around here, walks around once, talks to the drivers, talks to the
00:34:07.640 people in this convoy, stands on the side of the road, you'll see right away that this is not some
00:34:11.780 far-alt-right movement at all. We are for the people.
00:34:19.260 Thank you.
