00:00:00.000 the liberals are burning through more money to fight so-called disinformation today i'll show
00:00:20.020 you how if the liberals just be quiet for a little bit the disinformation problem in this country
00:00:24.400 might start to fix itself it's large 28th in 2024 i'm sheila gun reed and you're watching the ezra
00:00:32.440 levant show
00:00:33.400 shame on you you sensorious bug
00:00:39.640 we're all facing a series of challenges new and old we're still reeling from a pandemic
00:00:54.100 that put immense pressure on our democracies we're seeing growing distrust of government and media
00:01:00.660 and increased polarization exacerbated by misinformation and disinformation we're
00:01:07.800 dealing with insecurity caused by armed conflicts and climate change so today i'm announcing that
00:01:15.240 canada is investing 8.4 million dollars on research across the global south to better understand how
00:01:22.600 climate change interacts with democratic decline these initiatives will also help protect the
00:01:29.720 human rights of environmental defenders on top of the uncertainty caused by different crises
00:01:35.540 we're also seeing direct threats to individuals globally through transnational repression this is
00:01:43.660 why canada is increasing and expanding its funding for access now to ensure human right defenders and
00:01:50.800 others facing digital threats have the resources they need to protect themselves prime minister justin
00:01:57.040 trudeau accuses his political enemies which at this point includes the majority of everyday canadians
00:02:02.320 in this country of being guilty of spreading disinformation and misinformation now like so many scary movies
00:02:09.680 including the one canadians are living through right now with justin trudeau's government in the final death
00:02:15.120 rattles before us i think the phone call might be coming from inside the house so let's go through
00:02:21.680 some examples of liberal or liberal enabled disinformation over just the past couple of years because
00:02:28.240 there's a lot and who really has the time who could forget the state broadcaster the cbc and of course
00:02:35.600 ostensibly an arm of the liberals claiming that vladimir putin was somehow behind the freedom convoy remember
00:02:43.200 this given canada's support of ukraine in this current crisis with russia i don't know if it's
00:02:50.000 far-fetched to ask but but there is concern that russian actors could be continuing to fuel things as
00:02:58.080 this as this protest grows but perhaps even instigating it from from the outset of course the cbc had to
00:03:04.320 retract that claim on two separate occasions who can also forget the liberals blaming israel for bombing a
00:03:12.880 hospital in gaza now despite the liberals anti-semitic reflex to blame israel the bombing was actually
00:03:22.800 caused by a misfired terrorist rocket how could we forget when the liberals claimed the freedom convoy
00:03:29.600 truckers had set fire to an apartment building in an effort to incinerate everybody inside alive
00:03:35.760 and an attempted arson all of which madam speaker was caught on video it has been an illegal occupation
00:03:41.920 that has uh been harassing people in residential areas of ottawa people don't feel safe in their own
00:03:47.360 homes there have been reports of attempted arson canadians are also concerned hearing reports of an
00:03:54.000 attempted arson in the lobby of a residential apartment building because we see um hate speech we see
00:04:01.120 uh illegal acts such as arson the incessant honking the arson attempts the incessant honking the arson
00:04:10.560 attempts we've seen the active sabotage of 9-1-1 emergency call lines and even an attempted arson
00:04:17.600 other alleged crimes have even been more egregious ottawa police are investigating the attempted
00:04:22.400 arsenal of a downtown apartment building the situation persists fueled in part by foreign funding
00:04:27.360 we saw reports of attempted arson in some of the buildings and it certainly does not include
00:04:32.080 arson or pushing into a residential apartment building and barricading the exits with handcuffs
00:04:38.000 they have been living in fear fear that their apartment buildings may be torched by arson there's
00:04:43.680 been attempted arson with the attempt of handcuffing doors shut so that if a fire started people would
00:04:50.800 be burned alive and death threats an attempted arson a building had an attempted arson where the doors
00:04:58.880 were taped shut another building had occupiers attempting to handcuff the doors there are reports of
00:05:05.040 attempted arson bomb threats hate crimes misogyny arson horns honked all night long we saw thefts and
00:05:14.720 attempted arson the liberals even had a motion in the house of commons to denounce the arson however the
00:05:22.640 arson was not the doing of the truckers remember when the liberals claimed the freedom convoy truckers
00:05:29.040 in ottawa had firearms inside their trucks which they absolutely did not throughout the protest we did
00:05:37.280 receive information and intelligence around weapons and the possession of weapons by people that either
00:05:44.560 had attended or intended on attending uh the occupation as a result of the clearing at no point did we
00:05:51.920 lay any firearms related charges yet there are investigations that continue in relation to
00:05:57.840 weapons possessions at the occupation i guess yes or no interim chief were loaded firearms found in the
00:06:06.000 trucks during the protest clearing operation yes so as i as i indicated mr chair there there has been
00:06:14.000 no charges laid to date in relation to weapons at the occupation site it's it's just a clear it's a clear
00:06:21.040 question interim chief like were weapons found like were fire loaded firearms found yes or no
00:06:30.000 so in relation to no not not to relating to any charges to this point the liberals also claimed the
00:06:37.040 freedom convoy truckers were violent however they knew they weren't violent and they looked for ways to
00:06:43.360 to support the allegations or rather i should say lies look at this from black locks cabinet and
00:06:50.160 political aides schemed on ways to perpetuate media coverage depicting freedom convoy members as crazies
00:06:56.400 the public order emergency commission was told yesterday a lawyer for the truckers read out text
00:07:01.360 messages in which liberal aides contemplated a media campaign to depict protesters as violent adding quote we need
00:07:10.400 something to back this up the liberals also claimed the police wanted the emergencies act to be invoked
00:07:18.000 however police testified at the public order emergency commission that they did not want or need the
00:07:23.440 emergencies act the liberals also claimed the freedom convoy cost canadians millions of dollars again from
00:07:30.240 black locks look at this the department of public works says the freedom convoy costs millions in a work
00:07:37.360 slowdown on parliament hill but acknowledged an unrelated carpenter's strike was more significant
00:07:44.880 cabinet to date has not detailed economic losses it attributed to the truckers protest
00:07:51.280 remember when trudeau and the liberals blamed their own speaker of the house for inviting an actual
00:07:57.440 geriatric nazi named yaroslav hanka to receive a standing ovation in the house of commons as i said yesterday
00:08:04.880 this was deeply embarrassing for the house and for canada it is a good thing that speaker rota
00:08:13.680 apologized personally and i'm sure he's reflecting now on how to ensure the dignity of the house going
00:08:20.720 forward i know that house leaders are going to be meeting uh later this morning and i'm sure they'll
00:08:27.040 have very important well as it turned out hanka was also invited by the prime minister's office
00:08:32.960 two other events and of course screened beforehand nobody was caught flat-footed they knew who he was
00:08:39.760 then there was the time trudeau said he wasn't targeting hunters with his escalating gun bans
00:08:45.280 and it was a lie misinformation to say that he was until trudeau banned hunting rifles trudeau says that he
00:08:54.720 lowered middle class taxes except he didn't and then when one of trudeau's cabinet ministers lied about
00:09:02.160 where she was born and how she came to be in canada trudeau called it misinformation until it was
00:09:08.880 a provable fact that she had lied trudeau also claimed canada was bringing peace to cameroon which
00:09:16.640 was of course news to cameroon trudeau also said there were no vaccine mandates except he imposed
00:09:24.000 them on all federally regulated industries and workplaces and then there's this when national
00:09:30.880 concern broke out over canadian heritage funding an anti-semite as part of its anti-hate campaign in
00:09:36.320 august 2022 then heritage minister pablo rodriguez was nowhere to be found while specific responsibility
00:09:43.280 for the program lay with the cabinet colleague ahmed hussein internal documents obtained under
00:09:48.960 the access to information act revealed that rodriguez's office was well aware of the issue
00:09:55.360 but when rodriguez appeared before the canadian heritage committee last fall and was asked about
00:10:00.800 the issue he said he knew nothing about it until august 22nd 2022 and who could forget the carbon tax
00:10:10.560 ponzi scheme nonsense where the liberals repeatedly claim over and over again that people get back
00:10:16.160 more money in carbon tax rebates than they pay in the carbon tax mr prime minister you keep telling
00:10:22.320 canadians the carbon tax program is revenue neutral but you have the opposition and a lot of premiers
00:10:28.480 saying it's costing them money do you think you're losing the communications battle here the facts matter
00:10:35.920 the premiers the premiers conservative premiers specifically are misleading canadians the conservative
00:10:47.120 opposition in ottawa and pierre poliev are not telling the truth to canadians the parliamentary budget
00:10:55.680 officer himself says very clearly that eight out of ten families across the country do better
00:11:05.680 with the canada carbon rebate because we have put a price on pollution it is more money in the pockets
00:11:15.680 of families right across the country at a time where more money is needed and it's concrete action to
00:11:22.480 fight climate change at a time where we're seeing the impacts of extreme weather events floods fires droughts
00:11:29.920 conservatives are ideologically opposed to fighting climate change to making polluters even big polluters
00:11:41.760 pay and we put a price on pollution that makes sure people are looking for ways to reduce their emissions
00:11:51.600 and families particularly low income and middle income families do better with more money in their
00:11:59.760 pockets to continue to raise their families and build a future that's what our price on pollution is all
00:12:05.440 about and uh that's what the conservatives uh politicians across this country are trying to mislead canadians
00:12:14.160 about however the non-partisan parliamentary budget office says that is not true and that canadians will
00:12:20.640 pay more except the liberal schemes and spin jobs can't cover up the cruel fact that the cost of everything
00:12:26.640 is up and so are emissions because the carbon tax is a cash grab and not an environmental plan but the
00:12:32.080 parliamentary budget officer he tells the truth unlike them like most canadians albertans will pay almost
00:12:38.480 one thousand dollars more this year than they get back in fake rebates so today conservatives will
00:12:44.720 vote non-confidence in the costly coalition to axe the tax build the homes fix the budget and stop the
00:12:50.000 crime but will this prime minister finally listen to the majority of canadians and premiers spike the
00:12:55.920 hike today or call carbon tax elections so canadians can decide and access themselves
00:12:59.920 the honorable minister mr speaker once again page six of the pbo report indicates that at the end of
00:13:10.720 the year albertans are seven hundred dollars better off thanks to a very real canada carbon rebate mr
00:13:18.320 speaker in my riding of edmonton center well over 69 percent of residents want this government to fight
00:13:26.320 climate change we couldn't breathe the smoke in the air on september long weekend or may long weekend
00:13:31.520 these guys want to let the planet burn we're going to defend the planet put more money in the pockets
00:13:35.680 of albertans they can do what they want to do we're going to defend canadians and make sure there's a
00:13:39.360 planet for our kids and our grandkids like i said the misinformation phone call is coming from inside
00:13:45.520 the house now speaking of the carbon tax set to go up april 1st on the same day mps give themselves a
00:13:51.920 raise april fools the jokes on us franco terrazzano from the canadian taxpayers federation joins us
00:13:58.160 up after the break with more
00:14:11.680 april 1st the carbon tax is going up which means canadians are just getting poorer but you know
00:14:15.840 who's getting richer mps in a couple of different ways now joining me now is franco terrazzano
00:14:21.360 from the canadian taxpayers federation to discuss just that the couple of different ways that mps
00:14:28.560 are going to get richer and outgoing mps are going to get richer too franco thanks for joining me first
00:14:34.800 of all let's talk about the carbon tax because i have to you guys are the canadian taxpayers federation
00:14:40.720 tell us how much poorer we're all going to be come april 1st yeah the government courtesy of prime
00:14:47.440 minister justin trudeau is about to make your life more expensive uh you're going to be paying
00:14:52.000 after the hike 17 cents a liter of gas and carbon tax 21 cents per liter of diesel and 15 cents per cubic
00:14:58.800 meter of natural gas so not only is it making things more expensive it's making the necessities of living
00:15:05.520 in canada more expensive it'll make it more expensive for you to fuel up your car to get to work
00:15:10.640 it'll make it more expensive for you to heat your home during the winter months and of course it'll make it more
00:15:15.040 expensive for you to put food on your family's table and folks don't buy the government spin
00:15:21.200 about the rebates the rebates the rebates the rebates nay nay uh the parliamentary budget officer
00:15:27.120 shows that the carbon tax will cost the average family up to nine hundred dollars more a year
00:15:34.160 than what they get back in rebates yeah that's the big line that the liberals really hammer home on this is
00:15:40.480 they want us to believe which i think if you said this in the private sector you might
00:15:44.400 get arrested for trying to sell people on a ponzi scheme but if you give them money and they somehow
00:15:51.040 cycle it through the very expensive hands of a hundred bureaucrats somehow along the way without
00:15:56.400 creating or doing anything they will give you more money back in return sounds illegal sounds like a
00:16:02.720 pyramid scheme well sheila let's just think about it for i don't know longer than two seconds uh first of
00:16:08.560 all it it costs about 200 million dollars just to administer to have those bureaucrats administering
00:16:15.360 the carbon tax but not only that the government charges its sales tax on top of the carbon tax okay so that
00:16:22.880 tax on tax is costing taxpayers like 500 million dollars okay so let's think about it there is no way for a
00:16:30.560 government to impose a carbon tax charge its sales tax on top of its carbon tax skim hundreds of millions of
00:16:38.160 dollars off the top to pay for bureaucrats to administer the carbon tax and then somehow make
00:16:43.840 people better off with rebates i mean it's complete magic math but the good news here is that canadians
00:16:49.680 aren't buying the spin right like look around the vast majority of canadians in every province and
00:16:55.120 every demographic are against the upcoming carbon tax hike and folks like seven of ten provincial
00:17:01.920 premiers are also publicly calling on the trudeau government to cancel its carbon tax hike including the
00:17:07.120 lone liberal provincial premier in newfoundland and labrador andrew fury yeah and i've seen abacus
00:17:13.120 data polling that even for young people like that like the millennials and even uh gen z's their
00:17:20.560 number one priority at the ballot box is affordability they don't think they're ever going to be able to
00:17:27.120 afford the middle class things that their parents have it's not climate change anymore and i think the
00:17:33.840 liberals are going to be mugged by reality at the polls in 2025 well sheila let's talk about that
00:17:41.200 because even if like you really really care about the environment i think every canadian really does
00:17:45.600 care about the environment but more and more canadians are saying wait hold on a second this carbon tax
00:17:50.720 doesn't help the environment okay let me give you two reasons why well number one fueling up your car
00:17:57.040 with gasoline fueling up the big rig with diesel using natural gas and propane on a farm making
00:18:03.600 sure you can heat your home those are necessities for countless canadians right so instead of taking
00:18:09.840 your unicorn to work the carbon tax just means that people have less money in their budgets for other
00:18:15.840 necessities of life like funding your kids university or college education but number two
00:18:21.200 is canada only makes up 1.5 of global emissions and about three quarters of countries don't even
00:18:30.000 have a national carbon tax you know sheila i know canadians love watching the circus that is u.s
00:18:36.160 politics well you know what canadians won't see in the presidential election they won't see either
00:18:42.640 democrat nominee joe biden or republican nominee donald trump they won't see either supporting a carbon
00:18:50.640 tax so a carbon tax in canada just makes life here more expensive and it doesn't reduce emissions in
00:18:57.840 places like china india russia or the united states right and if the liberals truly cared about carbon
00:19:04.400 emissions they wouldn't be exempting one of the more carbon intensive forms of home heating as in
00:19:10.720 home heating oil they've exempted that from the carbon tax while punishing people who use the cleaner
00:19:16.240 burning natural gas particularly out here on the prairies well the issue with the carbon tax carve
00:19:22.480 out is is twofold i mean number one i'm happy that some canadians are getting sure me some relief
00:19:27.680 right like i like i uh my big problem is that all canadians should be getting relief right like that's
00:19:33.440 the big that's like the one issue is that uh trudeau took the carbon tax off a furnace hole for three
00:19:38.800 years and then left 97 percent of canadians out in the cold but the second issue is that trudeau
00:19:46.080 just admitted that the carbon tax does make life more expensive otherwise why would he have done the
00:19:51.200 carve out in the first place right right exactly now moving on to the other bad thing i think that is
00:19:59.040 happening on april 1st uh that's the mps getting a raise uh i don't think they're doing a very good job
00:20:05.840 i think if they worked in the private sector most of them would be fired for their ineptitude
00:20:11.440 but they are all getting a raise while canadians are getting poorer thanks to their policies tell us
00:20:17.040 about that and sheila you're in the majority other canadians the vast majority of canadians also
00:20:23.360 don't think that politicians should be getting a raise we just released some polling
00:20:27.280 from leger that shows that 80 80 of canadians are against the upcoming pay raise okay so in a
00:20:36.000 democracy who is the boss canadian taxpayers that's how it's supposed to work right well if the boss
00:20:42.240 doesn't think you deserve a raise in the real world you ain't getting a raise right but mps are going to
00:20:48.160 rubber stamp another raise anyways even though the vast majority of canadians don't think they deserve
00:20:52.960 one and like here are the numbers okay so the raise this year will range between an extra 8 100 bucks
00:20:59.520 for a backbencher to an extra 16 200 for the right honorable prime minister justin trudeau so after the
00:21:07.280 raise here's the salaries okay after the raise a backbench member of parliament along with collecting
00:21:13.600 dust in the house of commons will be collecting a salary of about 202 000 bucks a minister like freeland
00:21:21.680 or guibo their annual salary will be just shy of 300 000 now sheila i don't understand why a finance
00:21:29.760 minister would get a raise when they could even balance the budget of a lemonade stand but maybe
00:21:34.400 that's a conversation later down the road and the prime minister's salary after the raise will be about
00:21:40.320 405 000 well and it doesn't just end with their salaries like a lot of that is uh it goes a lot
00:21:52.640 further in the hands of an mp because they have these incredibly padded expense budgets they have these
00:21:59.520 expense accounts we pay for their cars their mileage things that regular canadians who are paying their
00:22:06.080 salaries don't have access to well i'm glad you brought that up and i know we'll get into the
00:22:11.200 pensions but even on the salaries this is just the tip of the iceberg because every single year
00:22:17.840 they rubber stamp another raise for themselves okay so after this april this will be their fifth
00:22:25.600 their fifth pay raise since the beginning of 2020 now what has happened to the rest of canadians
00:22:31.920 since then pandemic government lockdowns thousands of canadians sent to the ranks of the unemployed
00:22:38.800 businesses lost some for good skyrocketing inflation a housing crisis lines at food banks
00:22:46.800 reaching record levels but none of that stopped these members of parliament from taking pay raises
00:22:53.440 every single year so sheila when we hear them say we're all in this together they're not talking
00:22:59.680 about me or you they're talking about the gang of 338 of them up here in ottawa now i'm glad you
00:23:08.080 mentioned their pensions because that really irks me it is so shameless what the liberals are about to do
00:23:16.160 it's a new piece of legislation they say it will protect our democracy i think if you dig down it does
00:23:23.920 exactly the opposite um but what's shameless about it is that and you can tell me the exact details i
00:23:32.320 think it's approximately 80 mps need to work one extra day before the election is called so that they can
00:23:40.320 qualify for their pensions which i think will run between 32 to 45 000 per year give us the details on
00:23:48.320 this and you're using that term work very loosely there um but here's the details folks so um for
00:23:56.400 a member of parliament to get a pension courtesy of you and me they have to work six years okay so
00:24:03.680 a mp who was elected in the 2019 election they are not eligible for their pension until october the 21st
00:24:11.200 2025 well the current scheduled date of the election is october 20th 2025 so what is the federal government
00:24:19.360 doing they're proposing to change the election date to october 27 2025 which means that now 80 new mps
00:24:30.160 will be eligible for that sweet sweet sweet taxpayer funded pension okay now the total cost of those 80
00:24:37.600 mps lifetime pensions is up to 120 million dollars now i'm not naive i understand that not all 80 of
00:24:47.840 those mps will lose in the next election but if even half of those mps lose in the next election
00:24:55.040 moving this election back a week would cost taxpayers tens of millions of dollars yeah it's it's just so
00:25:02.880 shameless and the reasons the liberals are using is one of them is because that the election day
00:25:08.880 falls on diwali even though i i think indo canadians can probably just vote early
00:25:15.760 well sheila everybody else who has something to do on that day well sheila look even before that
00:25:21.680 right like let's set aside that for for a second but look i think if you were to ask canadians the
00:25:26.480 government is going to change the election day uh for a religious holiday uh but they're going to move
00:25:32.320 about a week back so 80 mps can get a pension i think most canadians maybe every canadian outside
00:25:39.040 of ottawa would say uh well then why don't you just move it a week early right so like right like this is
00:25:45.440 just it it just looks so obvious that the government is moving the election uh back a week so many more
00:25:52.240 mps can get that lucrative taxpayer funded pension and sheila pro tip for politicians if you don't want to
00:25:59.280 look shady then stop doing shady stuff like this right this looks exactly like the desperate death
00:26:07.040 rattles of a dying government trying to enrich itself on the way out the door which has been really the
00:26:13.520 story of the justin trudeau liberals since 2015 franco thanks so much for the work that you do on behalf
00:26:20.080 of taxpayers you're such a good advocate for us and for responsible smaller government how do people
00:26:25.280 support the work that the ctf does well go to taxpayer.com but before i go i just want to show
00:26:30.800 you how lucrative these pensions are okay so an mp who would work for six years could get a lifetime
00:26:38.320 annual pen or sorry an mp who works for six years could get a lifetime pension of more than two million
00:26:45.840 dollars it's absolutely crazy yes and i mean two million dollars if you were an mp that's enough
00:27:01.840 for you to vote in favor of these changes in the net now uh franco please as i said tell us how people can
00:27:10.560 support the very important accountability work that you do at the ctf well thanks thanks sheila so
00:27:16.720 everyone head over to taxpayer.com check out our newsroom uh great articles there at least i'm biased
00:27:22.160 but also we got some petitions so sign them a real hot one right now is scrap the carbon tax but thank
00:27:27.440 you so much sheila and our website is taxpayer.com thanks franco and we'll have you back on again very
00:27:33.680 very very soon stay with us your letters to ezra unceremoniously answered by me up after the break
00:27:51.920 now if you'd like to sign our petition against the liberals changes to canadian elections please go to
00:27:58.800 protectourdemocracy.ca in there you can sign a petition against the liberals enriching the losers
00:28:07.200 of the next election by shifting the election date as franco explained seven days out so they can qualify
00:28:14.640 for their pension but my video also explains all the other insidious ways the liberals are making our
00:28:24.080 elections vulnerable to meddling again that's protectourdemocracy.ca now we get your letters
00:28:32.720 all the time and we love your letters we love your feedback because without you there's no rebellious we
00:28:37.440 don't take any money from justin trudeau to do the work that we do here so we need to know that you
00:28:43.040 love it or at least appreciate it or at least that it makes you think and that you know that we are
00:28:48.880 showing you a side that you won't see anywhere else now the letters today come to us by way of ezra's
00:28:56.000 incredible long-form feature interview with my premier danielle smith of alberta arthur bogdenov
00:29:04.240 arthur i'm sorry if i butchered that writes ezra good interview the premier was spot on but needed
00:29:09.520 to go a step further we don't need to discover new uses for carbon dioxide and god already created it
00:29:15.920 plant food the more carbon dioxide the better for farmers and people this is indeed true in in fact
00:29:23.200 real scientists like geologists will tell you that the fossil record shows that when the earth had a
00:29:33.760 greater saturation of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere the life on earth was more diverse there
00:29:42.720 was more of it and it was bigger roberta carr writes good afternoon that was a very interesting
00:29:48.800 interview with ms smith refreshing to hear how entrepreneurs may use co2 also a good point she
00:29:54.800 made was how much plastic was used in the pandemic with masks and tests etc good to hear common sense
00:30:01.200 for a change totally agree about the hideous paper straws thanks for sharing roberta roberta i'm not one
00:30:07.040 who goes to movie theaters often i sort of get dragged there with my children but they give you
00:30:13.120 paper straws at the movie theater and so you're supposed to be drinking this drink and again i don't
00:30:17.520 drink a lot of pop but whatever drink that you're drinking you're supposed to have a paper straw last
00:30:23.520 the two hours that you're in the theater there's no possible way and i know premier smith loves a good
00:30:30.160 plastic straw she uh released a photo of her drinking from one after calgary struck down its
00:30:38.000 single-use plastics fan eric sova writes good morning ezra regarding your interview with danielle smith
00:30:46.240 why not question her support for co2 sequestration thank you for a very nice interview danielle smith's
00:30:52.720 heart is obviously in the right place but she seems misinformed and is supporting co2 capture and
00:30:58.400 sequestration why not give her a couple of facts with the lunacy of this initiative next time
00:31:04.080 in case of a complete success and elimination of co2 while no impact on climate what are plants going
00:31:10.320 to grow with thanks eric sova well eric um i don't know but some of you may know that in i don't want
00:31:18.800 to give away my exact location of my litter little uh cabin in the woods but i do live near a carbon
00:31:25.840 capture and sequestration facility i guess i would call it and there's a reason why saskatchewan is
00:31:33.840 pursuing this and alberta is pursuing it this and it's because there are enormous credits and grants
00:31:40.800 that come from the federal government for carbon capture and sequestration so i know for saskatchewan
00:31:47.840 this is how they are not idling down their coal plants right so while the feds may give them
00:31:55.680 trouble um because their coal plants release emissions and the liberals have an emissions cap
00:32:03.120 they can claim on the other side oh well look over here we're sequestering all this carbon on the other
00:32:08.720 side so give us a break and also give us some federal money which i mean it's just our money anyway
00:32:15.120 so give us back our own money so i think that might be one of the reasons why alberta is pursuing
00:32:21.680 carbon capture and sequestration it's a way to get around that emissions cap for now while we await
00:32:30.960 a change in government in 2025 regardless of how the liberals try to meddle in the next election to their
00:32:39.280 own benefit again if you want to sign that petition it's at protect our democracy dot ca well everybody
00:32:44.800 that's the show for tonight thanks as always for tuning in and as ezra always says keep fighting for
