While Trudeau uses the pandemic to destroy our civil liberties, his most radical cabinet minister prepares to destroy the oil and gas industry, Ezra takes you through an interview with Stephen Gilbeau. Then we will talk about the Pandemic and the lockdowns, and how a family at Ronald McDonald s was given the boot because they weren t back.
00:00:00.140Hello, my friends. I'm going to take a short break from the pandemic to talk about a little news story by a little advocacy organization out in British Columbia.
00:00:10.900They had an interview with Stephen Gilboa, and he let his guard down because he was amongst friends, and he said some staggering things that I think ought to have more attention.
00:00:19.280So I'll take you through his interview with the narwhal.
00:00:22.120Then we will talk about the pandemic and the lockdowns and how a family at Ronald McDonald House was given the boot because they weren't back.
00:00:29.180It's just a crazy story. We'll talk to Drea Humphrey, who talked to the family.
00:00:34.940Before I get to that, let me invite you to become a subscriber to Rebel News Plus.
00:00:38.300It's the video version of the show. Just go to rebelnewsplus.com, click subscribe. It's eight bucks a month.
00:00:44.540And you get the video version of my show, plus three other shows by Sheila Gunnery, David Menzies, and Andrew Chapados,
00:00:50.860and the satisfaction of knowing that you are keeping Rebel News strong and independent.
00:00:59.180Tonight, while Trudeau uses the pandemic to destroy our civil liberties, his most radical cabinet minister prepares to destroy the oil and gas industry.
00:01:20.740It's January 13th, and this is the Ezra LeVant Show.
00:01:23.320Why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon consumer I know?
00:01:29.320There's 8,500 customers here, and you won't give them an answer.
00:01:33.400The only thing I have to say to the government about why I publish it is because it's my bloody right to do so.
00:01:39.260The Narwhal is a far-left website based in British Columbia.
00:01:47.720Not only do they receive huge checks from Justin Trudeau, courtesy of Canadian taxpayers,
00:01:53.000but they also receive a significant part of their funding, perhaps a majority, it's not clear,
00:01:57.460from foreign anti-oil interests, like the Tides Foundation and California and Europe-based anti-oil activists.
00:02:06.140Seriously, like more than half a million dollars from a Seattle foundation alone.
00:02:11.320So they're not really journalists, are they?
00:02:13.820It's more like that news magazine called Costco Connection.
00:02:19.200It looks like a magazine, but it's really just a marketing department for Costco.
00:02:25.520So naturally, they're going to roll out the red carpet for Canada's most extreme cabinet minister.
00:02:31.460And of course, I'm talking about Stephen Gilbeau, seen here being arrested for committing a criminal offense in the name of Greenpeace.
00:02:38.900Do you know of any other extremist convicted of a crime who is then appointed to the cabinet for that same issue about which he committed crimes?
00:03:32.200In his new role, Gilbeau will have his work cut out for him.
00:03:36.380Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has assigned the minister 40 distinct tasks in a mandate letter that is perhaps the longest one sent to any minister in the federal cabinet.
00:03:45.880It all means that Gilbeau will need to work with other federal cabinet ministers and stakeholders to assist energy workers in transitioning away from fossil fuel jobs.
00:04:09.100I suppose it's possible to have a 40-item to-do list.
00:04:12.620You could have 100 things on your to-do list.
00:04:14.680But it's sort of like the question, how many friends can you really have?
00:04:18.300Don't tell me you have 20 friends, unless you really just mean friendly acquaintances, people you see from time to time, because there's just simply not enough time in the day, there's not enough days in the week to truly be friends, real friends, with 20 different people.
00:04:35.580If you have a six-item to-do list, I believe you're going to get it done.
00:04:39.060But 40 items tells me you really aren't serious, or you aren't focused, or you're just trying to come up with a long list of things to virtue signal about to appease your base.
00:04:54.280Work with the Minister of Health to implement a comprehensive action plan to protect Canadians, including firefighters, from exposure to toxic flame retardants found in household products.
00:05:05.700Well, I mean, if you were to do all 40 things on this list, you would fundamentally transform the entire country, since many of them are actually quite radical and quite large.
00:05:16.300So, on the one hand, a 40-point to-do list is the sign of an inherently unserious person.
00:05:22.580On the other hand, it's the sign of a revolutionary, a communist, really, someone who wants to remake the entire society, the entire economy.
00:05:31.220So, yeah, that actually does sort of make sense.
00:06:03.460We have to decarbonize our society, and that includes transportation, and we've made a number of commitments on that, some previous to the last election campaign, but certainly since then as well.
00:06:17.400We want to decarbonize the steel sector, the cement sector, the auto sector, the aluminum sector, and the oil and gas sector.
00:06:26.100So I will be working with them as I would be working with others.
00:06:47.640I mean, solar panel factories, windmill factories, where they make them, they are not powered by solar panels or windmills, in case you were wondering.
00:06:56.100But here's the news, if there was some in this Narwhal article.
00:07:02.640We don't have five years to consult every time we want to introduce a new measure.
00:07:07.320I told you earlier, my timeline is two years.
00:07:10.720So in the next two years, more stringent methane regulations, zero emission vehicle standards, net zero grid by 2035, cap on oil and gas,
00:07:21.320and obviously phasing out fossil fuels.
00:07:26.360All of these things must be in place in the coming 18 months.
00:07:31.960I mean, maybe 2024, but that's the type of time frame we have to work with.
00:07:37.080And it's going to be tough because on the one hand, some people are going to criticize us for not giving them enough time to be consulted.
00:07:44.280But the state of climate change is such that we need to learn to do things faster.
00:07:51.020All of these things must be in place in the next 18 months.
00:08:08.720Like I said, a communist, sir, I know that word sounds extreme and like I'm using it as an insult.
00:08:14.460But what do you call someone who truly wants to remake the entire society, remake the entire economy from top to bottom, every job, every industry, the way we move, the way we live, the way our homes are, the way we stay warm in this cold country, the way we travel in this, the second largest country in the world.
00:08:33.160And he wants to remake it through the force of government without democratic consultations because he's too busy for that.
00:08:41.740And he's shown he's willing to break the law.
00:08:43.980He's shown he's willing to be a criminal.
00:08:46.240And his boss, Trudeau, has told him to remake everything.
00:08:49.360And really, he's always hated the West and Alberta in particular and the oil industry.
00:15:04.940I mean, it's shocking that a family that's in such stress, I mean, the whole point of Ronald McDonald House is to make it easy for the family to be close to the kid who's going through, you know, something no kid should have to go through.
00:15:17.900And then to evict them, kick them out, like a landlord might kick out a deadbeat tenant.
00:15:25.700That's of all the times to do that to someone.
00:15:29.840Tell me a little bit more about the family, and then we'll play a clip from it.
00:15:35.460It's every parent's worst nightmare to find out your child has cancer.
00:15:39.760They're in this family is based or they are from Kelowna, which is at least a four-hour drive to Vancouver where their son, Jack, needs life-saving treatment until June.
00:15:53.240And so to be able to make that journey, we've recently had the floods there, which would have made it impossible.
00:15:59.360But just in the winter and back and forth, it wasn't feasible.
00:16:06.540And so that's where Ronald McDonald House came in.
00:16:09.800That's where friends and family and their church, Kelowna Harvest Church, came behind them to support them so that they could stay at Ronald McDonald House.
00:16:20.240And not only is this just like an apartment, it is set up to make the child as happy as that child can be while they're going through treatments in such a hard time.
00:16:32.800So it's a place that the child and, of course, the family can find refuge and happiness.
00:16:39.620And so to have a policy slapped on your door that says you're no longer welcome here, you're out of here, simply because you're not vaccinated for COVID is vile and inhumane.
00:16:52.040You know, it's so bizarre what's happening to our health care system.
00:16:56.420They're firing immune nurses and doctors who got the disease and recovered them naturally.
00:17:02.320So they're firing healthy doctors and nurses.
00:17:05.300They're calling in doctors and nurses who actively have the disease because they're so short staffed.
00:17:12.560And here they're kicking out patients and their families.
00:17:21.780Tell us a bit about it and then let's take a look.
00:17:24.720Well, I think this father, he said he didn't like any confrontation, but after his wife had been crying all night long and he just kind of thought, what am I going to do next?
00:17:36.060He felt like God said, you got to let this be known.
00:17:39.660So he uploaded that viral video you showed to Facebook.
00:17:43.620And then after that, international attention.
00:17:47.400So when I went and interviewed him, he had articulate things to say about how concerning this is.
00:17:56.740Like, are you guys actually doing this?
00:17:58.500And then she authenticated the letter.
00:18:00.660Like, everybody who comes here, as far as I know, I don't know if it's just people with leukemia or what, but you get given a social worker.
00:18:07.580And we had to reach out to the social worker ourselves and say, what are we going to do?
00:18:11.600They didn't say, oh, we're going to set you up at the hotel while you're figuring out what to do.
00:18:14.820They didn't say, oh, here's, you know, they didn't give you a game plan or anything.
00:18:18.740They're just saying, we're going to set up a room.
00:18:20.840We're going to set up a QR code and you're going to scan it.
00:18:23.260And if you don't, and if, and if you don't scan that QR code, you're like, you're gone.
00:18:29.580So just to be clear, you were not told you'd be accommodated until you spoke, until you went out and reached out to, I guess, the social worker.
00:18:37.620Yeah, and it's not even guaranteed accommodation.
00:18:40.560And there's no guarantee that the other location wouldn't do the same thing.
00:18:43.660The only other location that's like a free thing similar to this community living is a place called Easter Seals.
00:18:50.580And there's no, like my social worker said, I'm going to reach out to you.
00:18:53.440I'll probably get back to you tomorrow.
00:18:57.560Like, you don't know if you're going to get a spot and you don't know if they're going to just do this too.
00:19:03.620Because this seems to be a trending thing across the country where they're just putting their hands around the throat of every unvaccinated person and just squeezing until they obey.
00:19:15.140There have been some very heart-rending moments in this pandemic where heroes or I'm not going to use the word victims, but people who have been punished by the system like this family have stood up.
00:19:28.640I mean, I think a GoFundMe for this family hit $100,000 in a day or something.
00:19:33.820What we've seen, though, with sympathetic people like this who dare to stand up for their individual choice, whether it's Novak Djokovic, the tennis star in Australia, or whether it's our own friend, Dr. Julie Panessi, the ethics scholar who was fired from Western Ontario.
00:19:52.100The more sympathetic they are, the more the corporate media, the narrative media comes in to smash them because you're not allowed to be sympathetic if you're unvaccinated.
00:20:04.200You have to be, as Trudeau says, a misogynist, racist or something.
00:20:08.520So let me ask you, the world loves this family.
00:21:32.720They took out the COVID cult reference, and they even specified that although now that Ronald McDonald House is claiming that they were going to accommodate them,
00:21:42.720which, by the way, is not written in the policy that was slapped on this family's door,
00:21:46.400they do point out in that article now that when the father did address this manager,
00:21:51.900the manager didn't say anything about that, they would be accommodated either.
00:21:55.740So total change there, at least in that situation.
00:28:21.560We are also announcing a curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting tomorrow night.
00:28:27.600When I heard that curfew is coming back, in my mind, it was like, okay, there they come again, and again, and again, and it's deja vu all over.
00:28:39.940We got to struggle to make some money for a living, especially if the government doesn't help.
00:28:57.640We got pulled over again, and they checked our papers for a second time.
