00:00:00.000 Hello, my Rebels. Today, I take you through a bit of an update on Rebel News.
00:00:03.600 Some new journalists we're adding, some journalist legal fights we're in protecting our people,
00:00:09.760 some plans we have for civil liberties, and some plans we have for some conferences.
00:00:14.680 So we're very busy around here. I want to give you a bit of an update.
00:00:17.800 I want to invite you to become a subscriber to rebelnewsplus.com, rebelnewsplus.com.
00:00:22.780 It's the video version of these podcasts. I like them.
00:00:26.480 And for the duration of the campaign, it's free.
00:00:28.660 Just go to rebelnewsplus.com and type in the promo code ELECTION, and Bob's your uncle.
00:00:35.080 All right. Here's today's podcast.
00:00:41.340 Tonight, an update on Rebel News. It's September 1st, and this is The Ezra LeVant Show.
00:00:58.660 Why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon consumer I know?
00:01:02.740 There's 8,500 customers here, and you won't give them an answer.
00:01:06.800 The only thing I have to say to the government about why I publish it is because it's my bloody right to do so.
00:01:12.660 You know, that classic novel, Tale of Two Cities, it was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
00:01:23.560 Yeah, these are just the worst of times. There's no two ways about it, but we're trying to make the best of it.
00:01:29.400 I see that as doing a few things here at Rebel News.
00:01:31.820 Telling the other side of the story. That's our motto.
00:01:33.660 By that, I mean telling the story that the mainstream media won't tell you, to show you that there are people with dissenting views.
00:01:43.080 To show you that the official government narrative is not all roses, that things don't go as they say they do, that not everyone's happy with this.
00:01:51.740 So telling the other side of the story, being a dissenter, an accurate chronicler of what's happening, I think is a very important mission.
00:02:01.920 Defending our journalists is a secondary mission that helps with the first.
00:02:07.220 Sometimes it feels like we spend more time defending our journalists and defending our right to do journalism than actually doing journalism itself.
00:02:14.860 But I think that speaks to how terrible the times are.
00:02:19.140 Once we can do those two things, tell our story and protect our journalists who tell our story, then we can do things like helping people, which has become a big part of what Rebel News does, especially over the last year.
00:02:33.000 And finally, and I think this was sort of accidental, but it's happening, and I think we can do more of it.
00:02:39.040 But through our telling of the story and our defending of our journalists and through our helping of people, maybe we can be a central force, a kind of social institution where like-minded people can find consolation and maybe even a little bit of inspiration.
00:02:54.760 So let me give you some news in each of these, I guess, mission statements, each of these objectives for our company.
00:03:02.300 Let me start with the fun news.
00:03:04.180 My favorite part of running the Rebel is hiring new talent.
00:03:10.100 Hiring is always more fun than firing, isn't it?
00:03:13.040 When you hire someone, you're having the highest hopes.
00:03:15.880 You think this person could do amazing.
00:03:18.160 Wouldn't it be wonderful if?
00:03:19.920 And so I've had the great pleasure of hiring many wonderful people over the last year, and most of them worked out very nicely, I think.
00:03:27.800 I showed you some videos that Alexa Lavoie did the other day in Quebec.
00:03:31.960 I think she's just killing it.
00:03:33.020 She's doing great.
00:03:34.180 Let me show you.
00:03:35.800 I won't play the whole thing, but I want to show you a new Rebel.
00:03:40.280 He's so new, we haven't even got his microphone flag to him yet that says Rebel News on it.
00:03:44.320 New Rebel in the United Kingdom, where we have hundreds of thousands of our supporters.
00:03:48.840 We just haven't had any boots on the ground in a while.
00:03:51.240 I used to fly over there all the time, but good luck doing that in the age of the pandemic.
00:03:54.440 So here's our new guy in the UK, Lewis.
00:03:58.640 Take a look at him.
00:03:59.300 This is Lewis Brackville here reporting for Rebel News, where behind me, as you can see, we are here at the Freedom March.
00:04:07.440 We've been seeing lots of these protests globally and all around the world at the minute, over in Australia, Canada,
00:04:13.200 the United States, Germany, France and many others.
00:04:16.660 And here in London, it is extremely peaceful, as what I can see.
00:04:20.240 I've seen no scuffles.
00:04:21.620 There is a big police presence as well.
00:04:23.560 Everyone's playing music and just enjoying themselves along the big march here.
00:04:28.340 We have the numbers and we can win.
00:04:30.720 And if we don't do that, we'll have a dystopia.
00:04:33.960 We'll go like Australia.
00:04:34.860 Turn off the stupid Carnation Street, the BBC, and do some research.
00:04:40.580 Our lives are being destroyed by the very people we are paying to govern us, and they're not.
00:04:45.100 You know, it could go one of two ways.
00:04:46.920 You know, if there's enough people, we will get rid of this regime and we'll have our freedoms back.
00:04:52.160 I like his style.
00:04:53.400 I like his banter.
00:04:54.940 And you know what?
00:04:55.560 I think the UK, if you compare Canada, the UK and Australia, is probably the freest of the three countries right now.
00:05:02.940 It makes me a little jealous.
00:05:04.800 So that's Louis Bradpool in the UK, and hopefully we'll be doing more videos with him.
00:05:09.360 One fellow who's working full tilt for us now in Australia, who's based in New South Wales.
00:05:15.400 That's the state that has the big city of Sydney in him.
00:05:19.620 He's doing great work there.
00:05:21.560 And you might even recognize him from a Streeter video where we just interviewed different people on the street.
00:05:26.520 And he was so compelling that now he works with us.
00:05:29.520 His name is Mario.
00:05:31.220 Take a look at this.
00:05:32.300 This is, again, just a clip of what he's doing.
00:05:34.740 He's got a big report coming from a big trucker protest.
00:05:39.640 They call them truckies down there.
00:05:41.700 He covered a big trucker protest.
00:05:42.980 We'll show you that later.
00:05:43.680 But here's something that Mario Malik did the other day for us.
00:05:47.460 Hey there, Mario Malik here for Rebel News in Sydney.
00:05:50.320 And before I begin, I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been supporting us over at sydneyreporters.com.
00:05:58.200 Because of you, we've been able to secure some huge stories over the next couple of weeks.
00:06:02.900 And we're excited to bring those to you.
00:06:05.220 But we were also able to have a team on the ground at Victoria Park on the 21st of August.
00:06:09.920 Police have an ID from one of you representing the city?
00:06:13.280 Yes.
00:06:13.880 Oh my God, what's your name?
00:06:15.620 Mario.
00:06:16.260 Oh my God, I love you, man.
00:06:17.940 Yeah, you went shopping today.
00:06:19.340 Did you get ID checked?
00:06:20.680 Yeah, no, I didn't.
00:06:21.840 I just checked in from the farm.
00:06:23.860 I was post-racist.
00:06:25.140 Did they think you were a protester?
00:06:27.020 No.
00:06:27.240 I mean, the outfit is just 100% protest.
00:06:29.760 You look like a protest.
00:06:30.820 You do, sir?
00:06:31.460 I mean, those shoes.
00:06:33.220 What started as a quiet morning quickly intensified when 1,500 police officers took to the streets to flaunt their new powers.
00:06:42.420 No surprises there.
00:06:58.940 That's been all over the news.
00:07:01.160 But we were working alongside the mainstream media.
00:07:04.240 We saw what they saw.
00:07:05.500 We heard what they heard.
00:07:07.040 We witnessed the arrests.
00:07:09.480 But for some reason, that's where their story ends.
00:07:11.720 And our one just begins.
00:07:14.420 You'll remember, that's in addition to a new team we have in the city of Brisbane.
00:07:20.060 Remember Yasmin?
00:07:23.020 We've got drums.
00:07:24.480 We've got music.
00:07:25.580 We've got chants.
00:07:27.420 I feel like I'm at a concert right now, not a rally for freedom.
00:07:33.920 We are one.
00:07:37.100 This is not an attack on these guys as individuals.
00:07:39.260 Arby, how's it going, bro?
00:07:43.220 F***ing rock, man.
00:07:44.380 We are one.
00:07:45.720 We are one.
00:07:47.180 We are one.
00:07:47.920 We are one.
00:07:49.020 We're not fools.
00:07:50.380 We are grandmothers.
00:07:51.600 We are everyday people.
00:07:53.240 This is what you cause people to do just to live.
00:07:58.220 Just to live, for goodness sake.
00:08:00.020 Freedom to Australia.
00:08:08.980 We've had enough of this.
00:08:17.440 TV.
00:08:18.420 Other news stations just don't show what really happened.
00:08:21.600 So it's great that you guys are up here.
00:08:23.180 I believe we've shut down the whole city.
00:08:25.840 We've got police on bikes, in vans.
00:08:28.420 We've literally got people in bars filming us on their mobile phones.
00:08:33.060 I think we're going to fill up every platform tonight.
00:08:36.300 This is an emotion.
00:08:38.020 An emotion.
00:08:38.980 This is so moved.
00:08:39.700 This is Rebel News.
00:08:40.520 I was working in a clothes shop last year, and now I'm recording the news.
00:08:44.540 This is surreal.
00:08:45.740 So we're pumping up again in the UK and in Australia.
00:08:50.400 I hope we can manage them better than when we had this large global team before,
00:08:55.220 and it was a little hard to keep in touch through time zones and communication.
00:08:59.420 We've improved our operations since then.
00:09:01.860 We have an internal communication system called Slack.
00:09:04.860 It's like a company-wide message system.
00:09:07.360 Plus, every day we have two Skype calls where we Skype people in our whole Rebel universe.
00:09:13.160 So we have a morning call, and then we have an evening call where we call the Australians, too.
00:09:18.600 So going forward, if things progress, we'll have two calls each day.
00:09:22.460 But that means every day, every person in our company will be part of a team meeting.
00:09:27.400 So I hope that works.
00:09:28.420 I want to let you know, because it's important, that those other jurisdictions pay for themselves.
00:09:33.140 Now, most of our viewers are Canadian.
00:09:34.920 We have viewers of the Ezra Rancho who are from Australia and America and us and the UK, too.
00:09:41.180 I want to let you know what's very exciting about these new enterprises, especially Australia.
00:09:46.940 We just started again in the UK, so I don't know yet.
00:09:49.360 But Australia does cover its own bills, and I want you to know that.
00:09:53.360 Avi Yamini and his new teammates are just great.
00:09:55.820 And it is very useful, very important for us here in Canada to see what's going on in Australia.
00:10:01.960 I point out that Australia is one of our future paths if we continue down this road of authoritarian government in the name of the pandemic.
00:10:11.240 So it's very important for us to see Australia, not just to show Australia to Australians.
00:10:16.360 So that's the happy news.
00:10:18.520 More people joining Rebel News around the world.
00:10:21.400 But, of course, to support those journalists, we're often in legal battles.
00:10:25.620 Let me show you a video from the aforementioned Alexa Lavoie, one of my favorite people.
00:10:31.640 She's in Quebec, and she's giving journalism there that they haven't seen before.
00:10:36.540 And so wouldn't you know it?
00:10:38.320 The police, without a search warrant, without any cause, simply took something called an SD card.
00:10:45.820 It's like a little hard drive with all her videos, grabbed it right out of her cameraman's camera over her objections.
00:10:53.680 She says, she's really smart.
00:10:54.820 She says, where's your warrant?
00:10:56.180 Where's your search warrant?
00:10:57.360 They said, we don't have one, and we don't need one.
00:11:00.380 Take a look at this shocking story from Alexa in Quebec.
00:11:03.740 So I told the policeman that he had no warrant and no right to take our equipment, and he said he didn't need it.
00:11:14.800 They even took the camera's bag, claiming they didn't know what was inside it, and so it might be dangerous.
00:11:26.460 And the police took Guillaume's two SD cards from his camera.
00:11:30.720 I said they cannot do that without the warrant.
00:11:36.640 The cop, who obviously either doesn't know the law or doesn't care what the law is, arrogantly told me that I was a journalist and not a lawyer.
00:11:49.240 We are going to go as far as we need to go to defend journalistic freedom, because it is one of the most important rights in a free society.
00:12:02.700 That makes me very mad.
00:12:04.960 And of course, if we were the CBC or some left-wing group, there would be calls from across the spectrum for the police to stop bruising journalists, stop interfering with journalists.
00:12:16.020 But we're rebel news, and we tell the other side of the story, and the rest of the media is complicit with the establishment.
00:12:22.240 I don't expect we'll find any allies, but we are going to court.
00:12:25.560 We've hired a French-speaking law firm to help us fight.
00:12:29.600 So that was the news that Alexa had.
00:12:31.460 And then yesterday, you might have received an email from me, that the Trudeau-appointed debates commission.
00:12:37.640 I think it's so weird that in Canada, the government runs an election debate in the middle of a campaign.
00:12:43.080 How is that not absolutely a conflict of interest?
00:12:45.400 They pick and choose who gets to participate.
00:12:47.760 They pick and choose everything.
00:12:49.320 They put Trudeau's fanboys on the panel, like Rosemary Barton is literally on the panel that's grilling the candidates.
00:12:55.720 She is a selfie queen with Trudeau.
00:12:58.600 Remember this picture?
00:12:59.380 She's literally in love with him.
00:13:02.060 And as a favor to him, she sued, if you remember, the Conservative Party of Canada.
00:13:07.160 How can someone like that be in this debates commission?
00:13:09.740 Well, she is.
00:13:10.260 And no surprise, I added it up, we actually applied to have 11 different journalists from Rebel News go to cover the debates.
00:13:19.800 Sounds like a lot, but CBC and CTV will have more.
00:13:22.740 Well, yesterday we received 11 rejection letters.
00:13:27.800 All of them very similar, but they actually personalized each of the rejection letters.
00:13:33.580 They're about 10 pages long.
00:13:35.460 They are spending an enormous amount of money keeping Rebel News out.
00:13:39.000 In fact, as you may know, they drafted and crafted the rules, pretty much the keep Rebel out rules.
00:13:45.340 I'll just take a minute with you on that.
00:13:46.980 One of the reasons they used to exclude us, and we're going to go to court, by the way, if you're wondering how this part of the story ends.
00:13:53.080 We're going to court both for Alexa's SD card being stolen from her, and we're going to court to get the debates commission to let us in.
00:14:00.360 We won that battle last time.
00:14:01.540 I don't know if we'll win it this time.
00:14:03.060 One of the reasons they used for kicking us out was their rules say you cannot be an opinion journalist.
00:14:10.200 That is, you can't publish an editorial about something about which you're also reporting.
00:14:15.180 Okay, but that's not a thing.
00:14:20.320 Opinion editorials, opinion journalists are journalists.
00:14:24.300 We know that there's opinion sections in newspapers.
00:14:27.520 They specifically ban anyone who endorses a candidate.
00:14:30.700 Well, newspapers all endorse candidates in elections.
00:14:33.820 It's a tradition.
00:14:35.260 If you look through the list of members of the Parliamentary Press Gallery, Paul Wells, John Iverson, you may know these names.
00:14:43.000 They are columnists.
00:14:44.840 They're commentators.
00:14:46.340 Occasionally they do straight reporting, but most of the time they're giving their opinions.
00:14:51.100 So how can they justify banning us for opinion journalism, for example, but let in dozens, hundreds, of other journalists who obviously have an opinion?
00:15:05.680 Well, the answer is a trick they played.
00:15:09.500 They had all these very high standard rules.
00:15:12.580 You're not allowed to engage in any financial activities like promoting a candidate or a point of view.
00:15:19.420 By the way, we don't promote any political candidates, but they specifically say you can't crowdfund legal defense for people.
00:15:25.740 What?
00:15:26.140 There's only one company that does that in Canada.
00:15:28.000 That's us.
00:15:28.400 But I know for a fact that most journalists in Canada give money to election campaigns because they're part of Unifor, the union, and they're running these ads right now attacking Aaron O'Toole.
00:15:41.540 So how can they say, rebel, you can't come in because you have an opinion, but all these opinion journalists on the left can come in.
00:15:48.120 And rebel, you can't come in because you crowdfund through a charity to help people get a lawyer to fight civil liberties cases.
00:15:56.460 What's that got even to do with the federal election?
00:15:58.600 How can they ban that but not ban journalists who spend money in an election campaign?
00:16:04.160 Like there's no way to craft a law to keep rebel news out, but also let their friends in.
00:16:10.200 Well, there is.
00:16:11.620 Because they specifically say all these rules, these ethical rules we've just outlined, they only apply to independent journalists.
00:16:20.200 If you're already an insider, if you're already part of the parliamentary press gallery, we don't examine you.
00:16:27.500 We don't test if you're independent.
00:16:29.080 We don't check how much money you've donated to political parties.
00:16:32.260 We don't check if you've issued an opinion because we grandfather you.
00:16:36.480 We exempt you, including a TV station from Vietnam, from Ukraine, from Russia controlled by Putin called It's Our Task.
00:16:46.380 So you can actually be a foreign propaganda arm for Vladimir Putin.
00:16:52.400 And that's not considered a conflict of interest.
00:16:54.820 That's not considered advocacy or having an opinion.
00:16:57.720 You are permitted to this debate at a Canadian election.
00:17:02.180 But if you're an independent citizen journalist in Canada, you're banned.
00:17:05.980 You know, the Americans have a word for that bill of attainder.
00:17:08.220 It's basically a law written to get one guy.
00:17:11.680 Well, Trudeau wrote a law to get one media outlet.
00:17:14.360 It'll be interesting to see if it holds up in court.
00:17:17.320 We beat them last time.
00:17:18.620 But boy, they're trying hard to keep us out this time.
00:17:21.360 So we're fighting for Alexa against the government stealing her SD card.
00:17:25.460 We're fighting for 11 reporters to help get them in.
00:17:28.580 Like I say, journalism is our favorite part, but we have to defend our journalist's right to do things.
00:17:34.100 But I also mentioned helping out people because we are in the worst of times.
00:17:38.100 And we will have more to say in the days and weeks ahead about our project to fight these vaccine mandates.
00:17:47.240 As you know, Ontario today announced that it will bring in vaccine mandates, vaccine passports.
00:17:54.040 Basically, we'll forever lock down anyone who's not vaccinated.
00:17:59.400 You won't be able to go to a restaurant, to a gym, to a meeting, to a conference.
00:18:04.260 You won't really be able to live your life.
00:18:06.000 It'll be like you're under house arrest, really.
00:18:09.680 Millions of Ontarians perpetually in a lockdown obviously will be challenging that.
00:18:15.700 And by the way, and we'll get into this later on in the show, the Ontario government has specifically said they will not recognize most legal exemptions.
00:18:24.560 So we're going to announce our 20 strategic lawsuits against vaccine mandates in the days ahead.
00:18:31.660 But you know what we like to do here at Rebel News?
00:18:33.680 We like to help out individuals as many as we can.
00:18:36.100 That was our Fight the Fines project where we defended more than 2,000 individual people.
00:18:40.540 And soon tonight, in fact, in our next segment, we will introduce to you VaccineConsultations.com.
00:18:48.320 And what do I mean by that?
00:18:49.200 Now, ordinary folks can get a free 30-minute consultation with a lawyer by filling out our form at VaccineConsultations.com.
00:19:02.180 It's just a 30-minute consultation with a real lawyer.
00:19:05.660 Go to VaccineConsultations.com, fill out the form, and we will connect you.
00:19:10.420 We've come to terms with two lawyers in Canada, and we've agreed to pay them to take 100 cases.
00:19:18.480 And if we manage to crowdfund that, we'll do 100 more and 100 more like we did with the Fight the Fines.
00:19:24.700 If you want to help us pay for this, feel free to do that at VaccineConsultations.com.
00:19:28.340 Or if you need help, if your boss is forcing you to get a vaccine, if you are threatened with being fired, tell us at VaccineConsultations.com.
00:19:39.720 We will put you in touch with a lawyer and give you a half-hour consultation on our dime.
00:19:44.260 We're going to crowdfund that.
00:19:45.380 So I think that's our way of helping ordinary folks, not just the strategic cases, but as many people as possible.
00:19:51.280 If I had my way, we could give hundreds, maybe even thousands of Canadians a half-hour of legal advice.
00:19:59.440 Well, let's start out with offering 100 and see if we could crowdfund that.
00:20:03.000 By the way, you get a charitable receipt from the Democracy Fund if you donate to that.
00:20:06.580 And finally, I said, in addition to telling the news, defending our journalists, and trying to help the world with civil liberties,
00:20:17.020 we're trying to be a bit of a meeting place, a social institution, a gathering.
00:20:21.800 And I want to tell you two events we've got coming up.
00:20:24.280 The first, as you know, on September 14th in Regina, we're having a big speech with our friend Dr. Patrick Moore.
00:20:30.220 That speech was planned two years ago, then COVID delayed it.
00:20:33.740 It's happening very soon, September 14th in Regina.
00:20:36.920 There's still some tickets left.
00:20:38.320 It's going to be a great day.
00:20:39.240 Go to reginaspeech.com.
00:20:41.520 And we don't have all the details yet, and I really shouldn't announce it yet.
00:20:44.240 But I want to let you know that on October 2nd in Calgary, we're having the Rebel Live.
00:20:49.580 And we've already got some great speakers booked.
00:20:51.460 I don't want to, you know, I really should wait until we have our website up so you can register.
00:20:55.880 But that's coming October 2nd in Calgary.
00:20:58.580 And I am working on something here in Toronto to see if we can get it going before the mass arrest deadline of September 22nd.
00:21:06.760 So I'll keep you posted on that.
00:21:08.200 I really want to do these community building events to give people some moral and social support.
00:21:14.060 Because I really feel it in Ontario, and I know Quebec feels the same way, and British Columbia.
00:21:19.020 They really are trying to demoralize us.
00:21:21.920 And if we can be some sort of place where like-minded people can gather strength and happiness, I want to do that.
00:21:27.640 Well, that's my monologue for today.
00:21:29.680 Come back in a minute, because we'll be talking with Victoria Solomon, our legal coordinator, about the new vaccineconsultations.com.
00:21:37.260 Stay with us.
00:21:49.020 Hey, welcome back.
00:21:50.640 Here's Doug Ford, the Premier of Ontario, saying no way would he ever allow for the discrimination and the privacy invasion and the growth of the government surveillance state.
00:22:03.340 No way would he allow for vaccine passports or vaccine mandates.
00:22:07.920 Will your government provide an actual card or proof of vaccination?
00:22:12.420 And if not, why not?
00:22:13.140 Well, I've never believed in proof.
00:22:16.000 Everyone gets their proof.
00:22:17.340 When they get the vaccination, you're right.
00:22:18.760 Anything can be fraudulent.
00:22:19.960 Right down from money to certifications.
00:22:23.520 I just, no, we aren't doing it.
00:22:24.880 Simple as that.
00:22:26.880 And we're just going to move forward.
00:22:28.900 Now, if it's federal, getting across the border, that's up to the federal government.
00:22:33.980 We'll see what they decide to do.
00:22:35.720 I'll be talking to the prime minister tonight.
00:22:37.800 But the answer is no.
00:22:39.260 We aren't going to do it.
00:22:40.180 We aren't going to have a split society.
00:22:41.440 Well, that was then and this is now.
00:22:43.700 And he's just another lying politician because today he introduced vaccine mandates.
00:22:50.080 Take a look.
00:22:51.460 Folks, please, the facts are clear.
00:22:55.080 The vaccine is the best tool we have to keep people safe, keep our hospitals from being overwhelmed and avoid further lockdowns.
00:23:03.760 And that's why we're adopting an enhanced vaccine certificate.
00:23:08.120 We'll hear from Minister Elliott and Dr. Moore shortly.
00:23:10.820 But after in-depth discussions with our medical experts, we've landed on a vaccine certificate policy that is based on evidence and best advice.
00:23:21.460 It's a policy with the following key principles.
00:23:25.660 Vaccinations will be mandatory for certain indoor settings where the risk of transmission is highest because of masks aren't always worn, including restaurants, bars and casinos, among others.
00:23:37.260 Ford says that he doesn't want there to be another lockdown.
00:23:40.860 So what he's done is made a permanent lockdown where millions of Ontarians are basically under house arrest.
00:23:47.900 Here's a list of some of the places that Ontarians cannot go unless they prove that they're vaccinated.
00:23:54.220 Our approach will focus on indoor settings with restrictions, including those where there are larger numbers of people and where face coverings can't always be worn.
00:24:04.800 This includes restaurants, bars and nightclubs, gyms, meeting and event spaces and indoor sporting events.
00:24:14.520 Ford says the only exemption that he will allow are bona fide medical exemptions, even though Ontario's Human Rights Code says that there are other grounds for exemptions, too.
00:24:24.860 Here's Ford on that.
00:24:25.720 We will accommodate legitimate medical exemptions and will be closely aligned with other provinces that have introduced similar policies while ensuring we design and implement a policy that makes sense for Ontario.
00:24:41.700 Well, what can we do about this tyranny?
00:24:43.780 It's not just Quebec anymore and it surely will not stop with Ontario.
00:24:47.700 I expect most provinces to knuckle under.
00:24:50.200 Trudeau offered them a billion dollar bribe to pay for their vaccine mandates and vaccine passports.
00:24:55.920 And who knows what the pharmaceutical companies are offering, too.
00:24:59.300 Well, we can do what we're already doing, putting together 20 strategic legal challenges.
00:25:05.920 You know, we're crowdfunding a million dollar budget to fight 20 key cases across Canada.
00:25:11.740 We've onboarded about four cases yet.
00:25:13.920 But I expect we'll make particular announcements in the next few days, in the next week or so.
00:25:19.300 So we're going to take 20 cases that we hope will have maximum chances of success.
00:25:24.940 But as you know from our Fight the Fines project, there are thousands of Canadians.
00:25:28.680 In this case, there are millions who are now in grave jeopardy.
00:25:31.940 And we are getting probably 100 emails a day from people who are asking for help.
00:25:36.260 And so we've decided to help people without going the distance of filing a lawsuit for them, which could be tens or even over $100,000.
00:25:47.160 We've decided to set up a special website called VaccineConsultations.com.
00:25:54.420 And what we've done is we've negotiated with two lawyers in Canada, one lawyer in Ontario, one lawyer in the West, to pay for 100 legal consultations of about half an hour.
00:26:07.680 So if you go to the website VaccineConsultations.com, we have written down seven common questions and our attempts to answer them to help you figure out where you stand in this dystopian world, legally speaking.
00:26:23.940 And you'll notice on the right-hand side of the page, there's two more things.
00:26:27.300 There's a form to fill out if you have particular questions.
00:26:31.820 It's just like our FightTheFines.com form, but this one is at VaccineConsultations.com.
00:26:37.980 And you will be connected with one of these two lawyers.
00:26:41.700 And we have come to terms with these lawyers to pay for 100 consultations.
00:26:47.580 And if it goes well, we'll extend the project.
00:26:50.400 How are we going to pay for it?
00:26:51.780 Well, we crowdfund these things, as you know.
00:26:53.780 So you can see on the page is a way to chip in to help cover the cost of these consultations.
00:26:59.620 All donations will get a charitable tax receipt from the Democracy Fund.
00:27:03.740 Well, joining us now in studio to talk about this project is the legal coordinator for Rebel News, who has actually been seconded.
00:27:12.380 She used to work for Rebel News.
00:27:13.520 Now she works full time for the Democracy Fund overseeing our Civil Liberties Project.
00:27:19.360 She's run the successful Fight the Fines Project, helping more than 2,000 Canadians.
00:27:23.900 And now Victoria Salmon joins us to talk about our new project, VaccineConsultations.com.
00:27:28.920 Great to see you, Victoria.
00:27:29.760 Thank you, Azra.
00:27:30.540 I believe this is a very dark day.
00:27:32.280 I believe that whereas the Fight the Fines Project, at worst, well, it was a $1,000 fine, $2,000 fine.
00:27:38.740 That's a heavy load.
00:27:39.520 But it doesn't fire you from your job.
00:27:43.460 It doesn't ban you from living a public life.
00:27:45.960 It doesn't force you to be injected against your will.
00:27:49.620 This vaccine mandate in Ontario and a similar one in Quebec, I think, are the worst thing to happen to Canada since the Second World War.
00:27:56.840 Yes, this is definitely an unprecedented attack on civil liberties.
00:28:01.840 And I'm happy we're doing this.
00:28:04.040 I'm excited to see what we can do for people.
00:28:08.240 You know, our viewers can detect a bit of a Russian accent.
00:28:11.040 I know that you're originally from the former Soviet Union.
00:28:13.580 And I just want to talk about that for one minute.
00:28:15.980 We are going to get into VaccineConsultations.com.
00:28:18.660 I'm a little bit familiar with the former Soviet Union, the police state, and the notion that wrong think can be medically solved.
00:28:27.720 And if you think the wrong way, if you have the wrong opinions, you would be sent to a gulag or put under some form of house arrest.
00:28:36.340 And then it must be a mental problem.
00:28:38.280 I mean, I really feel like we're borrowing some of the authoritarian police state tools that we used to see in the Soviet Union and even Nazi Germany, and we're applying it in a free country.
00:28:48.920 I find it atrocious.
00:28:50.340 Yes, as these new mandates come out, I'm really shocked to see them.
00:28:55.120 And one thing that keeps popping into my head is I can't believe they're in Canada.
00:29:00.120 Yeah.
00:29:00.700 Well, I appreciate you talking with me about that.
00:29:03.880 Let's get down to business here.
00:29:05.080 What we really want to talk about is how to help people.
00:29:07.420 I just wanted to point out that we are dealing with Soviet-style systems right here.
00:29:12.820 At VaccineConsultations.com, we have seven questions and answers that you've worked on.
00:29:19.200 I'm not going to call this legal advice because we don't want to be the lawyer for everyone, but we will pay for 100 consultations with actual lawyers for people.
00:29:27.960 So let's go through some of the questions, and you and some of our lawyers drafted the answers.
00:29:32.240 The first is, can employers force you to get a vaccine?
00:29:38.260 Well, Ezra, employers have the right to mandate policies in their workplace, but these policies have to be lawful.
00:29:46.180 So they have to be not in contravention of any law, including human rights legislation and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms where applicable.
00:30:00.280 So this is why I'm glad that we're setting up this consultation process so that our lawyers can review these policies and see if they're indeed in compliance with the law.
00:30:11.400 So if I can expand on that, and I hate this answer when people give it to me, it depends.
00:30:18.040 Exactly.
00:30:18.740 It depends on what they're requiring, what your position is, who they're allowing to be exempt, what accommodation they're making.
00:30:27.100 So really, every case is different, which is why we're paying for 100 consultations, because what do they actually say?
00:30:34.760 Are they actually forcing you?
00:30:36.820 Is there a way out?
00:30:37.740 Those are all relevant questions before someone could give legal advice, right?
00:30:42.580 That's right.
00:30:43.040 And each province has its own human rights legislation, so this is why it's difficult to give general advice.
00:30:50.000 We have provided some legal information on our site to answer questions that frequently come up.
00:30:58.180 But it's definitely fact-dependent, and it's depending on which province you're in in some cases.
00:31:03.720 Yeah, this next question, and you can follow along on our website for yourself, vaccineconsultations.com.
00:31:10.320 This is my favorite and most hopeful part of it, which is what exemptions are there?
00:31:16.120 The one exemption Doug Ford claims he will respect is for medical reasons, like if you have an allergic reaction to a vaccine, for example.
00:31:23.820 But there are other exemptions, and they really are different from province to province.
00:31:27.740 Why don't you give us some examples?
00:31:28.840 There should be an exemption on religious grounds, and that exemption exists in human rights legislation in every province.
00:31:38.040 But then there are other provinces that include creed in their human rights legislation and political belief.
00:31:46.060 And on our website, we list those provinces, and we provide links to human rights legislation so that people can go and check it out for themselves and see which province they're in and see what exemptions will apply to them.
00:32:00.320 Yeah.
00:32:01.100 And I think that's very interesting because if your religion bars you from it, but religion has a certain definition.
00:32:07.800 Creed is more expansive.
00:32:09.320 Creed comes from the Latin for I believe, credo.
00:32:12.840 And so it's a larger belief system.
00:32:15.300 I think in Ontario, vegetarianism has been considered a creed.
00:32:19.420 And then in some provinces like Manitoba, there's political belief, which is very expansive.
00:32:25.040 That's almost anything.
00:32:27.340 So some provinces give you more rights than others to push back against a vaccine mandate, don't they?
00:32:33.820 Yes, and as this matters come before human rights boards and tribunals, we will see the take that they will, you know, how they will interpret this in terms of mandatory vaccination policies.
00:32:47.780 But right now, the law is in a state of flux.
00:32:50.820 This is very new.
00:32:51.900 And again, this is why our consultations and advice are general, because it really remains to be seen how the courts and the tribunals will react to this situation.
00:33:04.440 I'm very pessimistic, I should tell you.
00:33:06.260 The next question is the Charter of Rights.
00:33:08.600 Everyone's heard of the Charter of Rights.
00:33:10.020 It seems like Justin Trudeau is shredding the Charter of Rights.
00:33:13.320 He really doesn't care about it.
00:33:14.600 In fact, he's trying to pit us against each other and pit the government against minorities.
00:33:19.240 That's what he's doing.
00:33:20.680 Doug Ford's the same way.
00:33:22.280 The Charter of Rights, though, that only limits government actors, not private companies, right?
00:33:29.460 Yes, and unfortunately, a lot of people have a misapprehension about the application of the Charter.
00:33:37.020 They think that it applies to their situation, but unfortunately, it applies only to government action.
00:33:43.500 It does not apply in the private sector.
00:33:46.580 So as governments keep coming out with mandates, the Charter will apply to the situations that are mandated by the government.
00:33:58.340 But if, let's say, the government does not mandate employers to have vaccination policies,
00:34:05.800 and employers are just coming out with those policies on their own, which is what we've been mostly seeing,
00:34:11.620 then the Charter will not apply to their situation.
00:34:15.460 So their recourse would be under the human rights legislation and the human rights tribunals and commissions.
00:34:22.840 There's a couple other questions on the side I won't go through.
00:34:25.760 One is, can you work from home and still be forced to take the vaccine?
00:34:30.000 Maybe just touch on that for one second.
00:34:31.460 Yeah, well, I mean, this would be unreasonable, and I don't think it should be done.
00:34:39.060 But again, it remains to be seen how this will be applied.
00:34:43.000 Yeah, I mean, all of this is new territory, and it's happening so quickly.
00:34:46.940 No judge has shown any courageous dissent so far, but maybe this is too far.
00:34:51.000 Who knows?
00:34:51.540 I don't know if there are any independent judges left.
00:34:53.840 As I was saying earlier today, judges are typically older people in their 60s or even 70s,
00:35:00.820 so they're probably a little personally worried about the vaccine.
00:35:04.520 And, you know, I think they're the worst demographic to make the choice,
00:35:08.380 especially to mandate vaccines for people in their teens and 20s who are at very low risk.
00:35:13.320 I'm very pessimistic about judges, but it's yet to be seen.
00:35:16.280 I'm going to skip ahead because there's a lot of questions that people can read for themselves
00:35:21.500 at vaccineconsultations.com, and I propose that people go there and poke around a little bit.
00:35:27.740 But there is one last question.
00:35:29.140 I think it's an important one I want to ask, which is people who work for a union.
00:35:34.500 If you're an employee at a restaurant, you have rights as an employee.
00:35:40.720 You can make your own decisions and fight if you want.
00:35:42.880 But if you're part of a union, a government union, an airline union, a nurse's union,
00:35:50.540 you have to work through your union, right?
00:35:52.480 Yes.
00:35:53.100 The unions have their own procedure.
00:35:55.800 And you've given up your individual rights because you're collective bargaining, right?
00:35:59.440 That's right.
00:35:59.960 So it really depends on the position that your union takes.
00:36:03.420 If your union is anti-mandatory vaccination, then you're in a good position.
00:36:08.240 If your union supports the employer and they are pro-mandatory vaccination, then you have
00:36:14.920 to go through the union process and grieve with the union, ask for accommodation, see
00:36:20.280 what kind of exemptions are there, which is what you should be doing even if you're employed
00:36:26.620 in a non-unionized environment.
00:36:28.900 So when it comes to unions, you have to go through the union process first.
00:36:34.440 But at the same time, the unions have a duty of fair representation.
00:36:38.400 So if you feel that you're not being represented fairly, you can file a complaint with an applicable
00:36:45.760 labor relations tribunal.
00:36:49.680 So if it's provincial, it would be provincial.
00:36:51.580 If it's federal, it would be federal.
00:36:55.280 And, you know, see what you can do there.
00:36:58.220 Maybe have a lawyer write a letter to the union on your behalf and we'll definitely be exploring
00:37:04.180 this with our lawyers and giving consultations to people who sign up with our program.
00:37:11.520 Right.
00:37:11.940 I mean, the whole phrase collective agreement, collective bargaining, many people join together
00:37:16.480 and there's a strength in numbers.
00:37:18.020 That's the whole idea of a union.
00:37:20.320 But what if the union bosses say, we're on the side of the government here, like Unifor.
00:37:26.040 They've said, we love vaccine mandates, whereas the Toronto Police Association, the police union
00:37:32.180 is against them.
00:37:33.520 So if you are in a union that is pro-vax, you have to battle your own union either legally
00:37:40.060 or follow your union bylaws.
00:37:43.440 Call an emergency meeting.
00:37:45.560 I mean, there are some things that lawyers can help for.
00:37:48.920 But actually, if you're a union member, you have to sort of organize.
00:37:53.240 And I think that a lot of these unions, I mean, in the United States, I think the Postal Workers
00:37:56.980 Union has come out against this.
00:37:59.740 Like a lot of big unions that actually care about their members, that are very member oriented,
00:38:04.900 have come out against vax passports in Canada, the United States.
00:38:07.860 This is the test.
00:38:08.760 I think, will Air Canada's union come out against it?
00:38:11.820 Will nurses unions?
00:38:13.760 You're going to lose 20%, 30% of people in the healthcare business with forced vaccinations
00:38:18.980 because people just won't take them.
00:38:20.480 This is terrifying times.
00:38:22.360 Well, listen, Victoria, as usual, you're doing a great job.
00:38:24.840 You are the one who came up with the idea of these consultations, and we are going to see
00:38:31.980 how it goes.
00:38:33.120 We have negotiated a bulk rate with these lawyers to pay for 100 consultations.
00:38:42.200 But you and I know that we get almost 100 emails a day.
00:38:44.980 Yeah, and I'm very happy that we're doing this because now we can truly help our people
00:38:55.940 that are writing to us.
00:38:57.880 You get so many emails today, you would do nothing but reply if you did.
00:39:00.840 I do.
00:39:01.520 But we can't be the law firm ourselves, but we can farm these out to lawyers.
00:39:06.320 Let's try and crowdfund 100 consultations.
00:39:10.420 And I'm glad we are doing this, and I'm glad we are working with some of the lawyers that
00:39:15.440 have been successful with our Fight the Fines project.
00:39:18.760 I think as we keep going, we get smarter, we get stronger.
00:39:22.840 I think it's, I feel that it's similar to Fight the Fines.
00:39:26.400 Yeah, because this is the bulk program.
00:39:28.300 Yeah.
00:39:28.720 The 20 strategic lawsuits, that's different.
00:39:32.360 That's curated, carefully chosen.
00:39:34.540 But if you are a regular Joe or a regular Jane in a regular company and you need help,
00:39:40.420 hopefully this will be a good project.
00:39:43.280 And I want to say to folks out there who don't need help, well, we need your help because
00:39:48.580 we're going to try and crowdfund this.
00:39:51.120 I have agreed, I'm not going to tell you the rate of pay that we've agreed to pay these
00:39:55.160 lawyers, but I have agreed that we will go for the first 100.
00:39:59.940 But I need your help to crowdfund it.
00:40:02.280 I'd like to go for another 100.
00:40:03.580 I think there's going to be thousands of Canadians who need legal advice.
00:40:09.080 We're probably going to have to get more lawyers.
00:40:11.160 Yes.
00:40:11.440 And if you're listening and you're a lawyer and you would like to take part in our project,
00:40:17.080 please contact us.
00:40:19.100 It would be nice to have more people on board who are like-minded.
00:40:22.360 We definitely need help.
00:40:23.540 Yeah.
00:40:23.660 And you can do that by email at legal at rebelnews.com or through the form on vaccineconsultations.com.
00:40:32.520 So there you have it.
00:40:33.760 Victoria Solomon, she's great.
00:40:35.680 She's overseen the Fight the Fines project.
00:40:37.580 Now we're doing the 20 specially selected vaccine mandate lawsuits.
00:40:43.000 But for the people, for the large number of folks who need help, we've set up vaccineconsultations.com,
00:40:51.460 free half-hour consultation with lawyers.
00:40:54.480 We're going to splurge for the first 100.
00:40:57.540 And if you can help us crowdfund it, we'll just keep growing it.
00:41:00.640 I mean, theoretically, we could have thousands of legal consultations.
00:41:05.520 I don't want to get carried away, but we did that with Fight the Fines.
00:41:08.220 Yeah, over 2,000 people now in the program.
00:41:10.740 This is what I got.
00:41:13.100 I don't know if it's going to work.
00:41:14.580 I feel like we're in terrible times.
00:41:16.440 I just know if we don't do this, I don't know who will.
00:41:19.080 I'm wracked with stress and pain over what's happening to our country every day.
00:41:24.780 I take it personally because it affects me personally, but it also is part of the mission
00:41:29.220 of our company.
00:41:30.380 And the mission of the Democracy Fund, thank God they're around, is civil liberties litigation,
00:41:36.820 civil liberties education.
00:41:38.780 So thank God we were able to, through the Democracy Fund, give charitable tax receipts
00:41:44.260 for your help.
00:41:45.060 So let's close it there.
00:41:46.720 The website is live.
00:41:48.320 Go poke around, vaccineconsultations.com.
00:41:51.360 There's a lot of information on that site right there.
00:41:54.060 And if you want a consultation, fill out the form, and we will connect you with a real lawyer
00:41:58.280 who will talk to you privately and give you a half-hour consultation, and hopefully that
00:42:02.940 will steer you straight.
00:42:04.120 Victoria, thanks.
00:42:04.940 Thank you.
00:42:05.480 All right, folks.
00:42:06.100 Stay with us more ahead.
00:42:06.880 Hey, welcome back.
00:42:19.540 On my show last night, Greg writes, the 1,250 stranded must be conservative or PPC supporters.
00:42:26.360 Well, if you're over there in Afghanistan, you might be a military contractor, or you might
00:42:31.280 be an aid worker or a charity worker.
00:42:33.600 We don't know who they are.
00:42:34.500 I was shocked that it was that high a number of Canadians talking about Afghanistan and being
00:42:39.600 abandoned.
00:42:40.560 Ryan writes, is anyone surprised Trudeau still hasn't got the two Canadians being held in
00:42:44.640 China home?
00:42:45.340 That's a very good point.
00:42:46.500 I just don't think he cares.
00:42:48.600 The only Canadian he really cared about bringing home was Omar Khadr.
00:42:53.560 That tells you something, doesn't it?
00:42:55.240 That's our show for today.
00:42:56.360 Until tomorrow, on behalf of all of us here at Rubble World Headquarters, good night.
00:42:59.640 Keep fighting for freedom.
00:43:01.420 Keep fighting for freedom.
