Summary

While the world tries to lower gasoline prices, Justin Trudeau wants to increase them. He says so, and he says so because, well, it s cheaper than everyone else s gas. But the truth is, he s been rich for a long time, thanks to his grandfather. And it s not because he s rich because of his love of fossil fuels. It s because of where they come from.

00:00:00.240 Hello, my friends. Oil and gas in the news again today.
00:00:03.540 Most of the world is just flummoxed by high oil and gas prices.
00:00:08.880 Europe is terrified that Russia is going to punish them
00:00:11.820 with a form of sanctions cutting off natural gas deliveries.
00:00:15.640 But Trudeau, perhaps alone in the world,
00:00:19.180 thinks we need to increase gas prices more.
00:00:22.080 I'll tell you his latest proposal.
00:00:25.080 But first, let me invite you to become a supporter,
00:00:27.360 a subscriber, to the video version of this podcast.

00:01:10.220 Do it to keep us strong.
00:01:12.600 All right.
00:01:12.940 Here's today's show.
00:01:13.600 Tonight, while the world tries to lower gasoline prices,
00:01:32.380 Trudeau wants to increase them.
00:01:34.240 He says so.
00:01:35.340 It's July 19th, and this is the Ezra LeVant Show.
00:01:37.740 We're fighting for freedom.
00:01:41.060 Shame on you, you censorious bug.
00:01:44.180 Do you know the source of Justin Trudeau's personal wealth?
00:01:56.560 Well, a lot of it for the past two decades has been grifting,
00:02:00.740 taking freebies and bribes,
00:02:02.720 whether it's inflated speaking fees from lobby groups
00:02:06.720 or free $200,000 vacations in the Caribbean
00:02:10.760 on the private island of the Aga Khan.
00:02:12.760 But the source of his inherited money
00:02:15.800 was actually his grandfather,
00:02:18.600 who he never had a chance to meet.
00:02:21.940 This is the man here, Charles-Emile Charlie Trudeau.
00:02:26.840 It's a grainy photo of him.
00:02:28.540 It's the best I could find.
00:02:30.900 He actually sounds like a great guy.
00:02:32.720 He died far too young.
00:02:33.820 He sounds smart and energetic and entrepreneurial.
00:02:37.760 He built up a chain of 30 gas stations in Quebec
00:02:42.480 until he was bought out by a big company.
00:02:45.520 That's hustle.
00:02:46.640 That's a hard business to be in.
00:02:49.140 And that's the love of fossil fuels, isn't it?
00:02:52.200 And by the way, when he sold out the gas stations,
00:02:54.660 he bought into mining.
00:02:56.400 He loved capitalism.
00:02:57.900 He loved natural resources.
00:03:00.800 Well, he left that money to his son, Pierre Trudeau,
00:03:03.160 and Pierre Trudeau left what was left, and it had grown,
00:03:07.120 to Justin Trudeau and the other children.
00:03:09.760 And over the course of the past, I think it's been 87 years
00:03:13.220 since Charlie passed away, that fortune has grown mightily.
00:03:18.620 But it started in gas stations.
00:03:20.900 In 2022, Justin Trudeau was rich because he's a corrupt politician.
00:03:27.220 But before that, he was rich because his grandpa,
00:03:30.420 who passed away in 1935, sold a lot of gas.
00:03:35.320 Justin Trudeau still loves gasoline and jet fuel.
00:03:39.720 He surely has the largest carbon footprint of any Canadian,
00:03:42.740 but he claims to hate it.
00:03:45.280 Just not for him, you see, because it's different when he does it.
00:03:49.340 I think some of that hatred is about where the fossil fuels come from, though.
00:03:55.720 In Canada, oil and gas come from Alberta mainly,
00:03:59.200 and also the BC interior and Saskatchewan.
00:04:02.440 There's some in the Atlantic.
00:04:04.440 That's most of it.
00:04:05.320 He's always hated Albertans, though.
00:04:07.160 Remember this?
00:04:07.680 Look, Canada is hard now because it's Albertans who control our community and socio-démocratism.
00:04:16.640 It doesn't work.
00:04:46.420 I mean, if Québec were a major oil and gas producer,
00:04:50.420 do you doubt that that industry would be treated as a holy and sacred one?
00:04:57.520 I mean, let me point to the special treatment given to Québec's dairy industry,
00:05:01.340 if you have any questions, or the lengths that Trudeau and Gerald Butts went
00:05:04.840 to protect the Montreal engineering firm SNC-Lavalin,
00:05:07.980 even when they were guilty of bribery.
00:05:11.580 But Trudeau hates oil and gas if it comes from Alberta.
00:05:16.580 He hates Alberta more than he loves other things.
00:05:19.980 Europe has been at the mercy of Russia for natural gas and oil,
00:05:24.380 and yet Trudeau immediately rejected the request
00:05:28.060 to export Canadian ethical natural gas and oil to Europe
00:05:33.300 to supplant Russian conflict oil and gas.
00:05:38.560 Trudeau wouldn't even consider it.
00:05:40.240 He rejected it out of hand.
00:05:42.200 I mean, you can really rely on Justin Trudeau for a great photo op.
00:05:47.060 He'll never let you down there.
00:05:48.360 That's his specialty.
00:05:50.520 But you really can't count on him for anything when the going gets tough, can you?
00:05:54.460 As Ukraine learned when Trudeau amended his own sanctions rules to exempt Russian oil and gas pipeline turbines being fixed by a company in Montreal.
00:06:05.080 So Trudeau hates oil and gas, but not really Russian oil and gas, and not the oil and gas that he himself uses.
00:06:12.460 It's quite something.
00:06:14.420 It's that Trudeau brazenness that his dad had that every April Fool's Day, every April 1st,
00:06:23.160 that's the day that both of the Trudeau carbon tax goes up.
00:06:26.420 And by coincidence, that's also the day that MP pay goes up, including Trudeau's pay.
00:06:33.240 How has your pandemic been the last two years?
00:06:37.100 Did you get a raise every year while doing less work than ever?
00:06:41.960 Our MPs did.
00:06:42.900 And by the way, don't think the conservative MPs didn't take the raise, too.
00:06:46.200 Imagine raising taxes on you and giving themselves a pay raise on the same day each year.
00:06:55.180 Anyways, look at this.
00:06:56.200 If you think gas prices are not high enough, good news for you, they're about to be raised again.
00:07:03.100 There's a story in the CBC that was published by the Canadian Press.
00:07:07.820 Ottawa proposes to cap oil gas emissions using industry-specific carbon pricing system.
00:07:14.160 Canada aims to cut emissions across all sectors, 40% to 45%, from 2005 levels by 2030.
00:07:21.940 That's the magic UN date.
00:07:23.600 You hear it a lot.
00:07:25.180 Now, that's nuts.
00:07:26.140 The population of Canada is growing, as you know, in part due to massive immigration.
00:07:31.660 So why would you actually reduce the amount of energy use in a country without taking into account population growth?
00:07:39.420 And why that specific amount?
00:07:41.580 You know, it makes no sense.
00:07:45.520 There is no science to it, and it won't make a difference.
00:07:48.800 You could take every car off the road in Canada, and China would make up for the difference in a few weeks.
00:07:55.080 Give the New York Times credit.
00:07:56.480 They are environmental activists, just like the CBC is.
00:07:58.980 But at least they're honest enough to report in literally dozens of stories that China is building more coal-fired power plants, both for China itself and around the world, than every other country combined.
00:08:14.040 But sure, you tackle those Canadian cars.
00:08:18.660 That's the real problem in the world.
00:08:20.560 Let me read a little bit.
00:08:21.240 That's a very fancy way of saying taxes.
00:08:36.000 Let me translate it into another language.
00:08:38.480 Alberta vote of conservatives, so now they must be punished.
00:08:43.620 It's an extremely long story.
00:08:45.600 I'm not going to read much of it to you.
00:08:47.520 I mean, but I can tell you that the story never once questions the side effects, the consequences, the cost of lost jobs, of lost income,
00:08:56.860 the obvious fact that the world will consume exactly how much oil it will consume, whether or not it buys it from Russia, OPEC, or Canada.
00:09:08.620 But more to the point, it doesn't even ask such an obvious question.
00:09:12.140 If we shut down Canadian oil, we're still going to drive and jet around.
00:09:19.160 And we can see how it comes to Canada now, in those parts of Canada that don't produce oil, Ontario, Quebec, the Atlantic.
00:09:27.760 The oil comes in by rail from the U.S.
00:09:31.500 Remember the Lac-Megantic fire?
00:09:33.200 That was an oil train from the United States coming into Canada because we didn't have a pipeline in Quebec.
00:09:39.980 And it comes by sea from OPEC countries, including Saudi Arabia and other dictatorships.
00:09:46.440 But here's the thing.
00:09:48.460 That foreign oil will not be taxed under Stephen Gilboa's proposal.
00:09:54.980 It will not have a carbon tax put on.
00:09:56.540 It will not be subject to cap and trade.
00:09:58.260 It will not have a carbon analysis or, all the rage in the Liberal Party, a gender analysis.
00:10:04.320 They do that.
00:10:05.260 Or an eco-analysis or whatever they're putting Alberta through and every other Canadian industrial project.
00:10:10.500 Remember that gender analysis?
00:10:12.400 Do you think Saudi oil would pass a gender analysis?
00:10:17.600 Who cares?
00:10:18.460 It's not subject to it.
00:10:19.680 Only Canadian oil is.
00:10:21.200 And so my point remains, Trudeau doesn't actually hate oil.
00:10:26.620 He just hates Canadian oil, Alberta oil, Saskatchewan oil.
00:10:30.640 He's fine with Russian oil.
00:10:32.600 He's fine with American oil.
00:10:34.580 Fine with OPEC oil that will be imported to Canada to fill the void left when Trudeau finally breaks Alberta's back.
00:10:41.140 But understand Gilboa's proposal.
00:10:44.620 He's not going to tax oil all the same.
00:10:46.860 He will explicitly and deliberately tax and punish Canadian oil more than he will tax and punish foreign oil.
00:10:55.700 That's exactly what that means.
00:10:58.560 I think this is shaping up not only into a national issue but an international issue.
00:11:03.420 The one thing Canada could do for the world.
00:11:06.400 We don't have the world's biggest economy.
00:11:07.840 We don't have the world's biggest military.
00:11:10.960 Trudeau was laughed at in diplomatic circles.
00:11:13.800 But the one thing we could do to help the world is to produce as much ethical oil as possible.
00:11:19.600 As much as possible.
00:11:21.760 Knowing that every extra barrel we pump is a barrel less sold by the Venezuelans and Irans and Saudi Arabians and Russias of the world.
00:11:30.380 And $100 less in their pockets and $100 more in ours.
00:11:34.560 That is the one thing Trudeau will not do.
00:11:39.520 Stay with us for more on this issue.
00:11:41.340 Well, Justin Trudeau has changed his look but not his tune.
00:11:54.860 He's got this new haircut.
00:11:56.920 I'm not sure if it's an attempted Caesar or if it's more dumb and dumber.
00:12:03.460 He's got an unusual look.
00:12:05.860 I'll stop making fun.
00:12:06.980 A guy like me should not make fun of how anyone else looks.
00:12:09.360 But it's sort of startling.
00:12:11.220 But I'm less interested in how Trudeau looks and what shampoo he uses.
00:12:15.460 That's a question that Tom Clark of Global News would ask.
00:12:18.240 I'm more interested in what he says and what he does.
00:12:20.980 And over the weekend while debuting his new hairstyle, he came up with some fancy math that I just couldn't make add up.
00:12:30.980 Here, listen to it and watch for yourself.
00:12:32.780 Today is the day.
00:12:34.640 Right across the country in Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, climate action incentive payments have landed in people's bank accounts.
00:12:43.500 It's part of our commitment to make sure that even as we step on to fight climate change, we're supporting families.
00:12:48.640 Indeed, 8 out of 10 families will be better off with the climate action incentive than the carbon price costs them in a given year.
00:12:57.020 That's part of how we're moving forward to support people.
00:13:00.580 Here in Ontario, I was just speaking with the Mattin family who got a check for $372.50.
00:13:07.700 That's going to make a real difference as prices go up.
00:13:11.360 But as we continue to be there for people as we're fighting against climate change.
00:13:15.440 And remember, in rural and small communities, there's a 10% top up on that.
00:13:20.380 We're going to continue to be there for people as we build a better future and protect our planet.
00:13:24.980 Well, there you have it.
00:13:26.640 I don't know how it could be that everyone pays the carbon tax, but 8 out of 10 people are further ahead.
00:13:34.720 I'm not sure if that math works out.
00:13:38.580 He used a phrase there that was terrifying.
00:13:41.740 He said, as prices go up.
00:13:44.800 So he's not saying prices should not go up.
00:13:47.400 He's saying prices will go up.
00:13:49.480 He's not come out against that.
00:13:51.200 But remember, the whole idea behind the carbon tax is to make you make better choices, in his phrase.
00:13:59.200 Now, he'll never stop flying in a private jet or living a high-carbon lifestyle.
00:14:03.500 But he wants prices to go up.
00:14:05.800 So it is hard for you to choose to fill up your car with gas.
00:14:09.780 Although, in the same breath, he's saying it will make no difference for 8 out of 10 Canadians.
00:14:16.140 It's very confusing, but all you need to know is that Justin Trudeau is increasing carbon taxes, and he doesn't care.
00:14:22.880 And joining us now to talk about this is our friend from the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, Frank Yu Terizzano,
00:14:28.260 who has a new essay on the subject called Carbon Tax and Rebates Cost Ontario Families Hundreds Every Year.
00:14:36.040 Frank, great to see you again.
00:14:37.580 Help me out here.
00:14:38.840 Trudeau says you're going to get rich.
00:14:41.960 You're going to get $372 out of this thing.
00:14:44.920 Woo!
00:14:45.520 But you say, no, actually, the average Canadian family's shortfall of hundreds of dollars.
00:14:52.100 Help me with the math here.
00:14:54.460 Well, it's really unfortunate.
00:14:56.520 Trudeau is not exactly being honest with Canadians.
00:14:59.780 Ezra, I know you're shocked.
00:15:01.660 We're hearing Trudeau claiming.
00:15:03.460 Yeah, we hear him claim that families are going to be better off.
00:15:06.700 But the parliamentary budget officer shows that the Trudeau government is using magic math.
00:15:12.440 That's because the carbon tax will cost the average household anywhere from about $300 all the way up to $670 this year, even with the rebates.
00:15:22.900 So we just heard Trudeau talking about that Ontario household.
00:15:27.360 Well, that average household in Ontario, the carbon tax is going to cost them $360 this year, even with the rebates.
00:15:35.260 And Ezra, the parliamentary budget officer, that's the government's owned independent watchdog.
00:15:40.780 Yeah.
00:15:41.180 You know, the idea that you take money, you pay it to the government, they take the money, they pay it back to you.
00:15:48.060 The idea that that happens without any friction or overhead in itself is a bit of a laugh.
00:15:54.840 I mean, if you start out with $100 and you gave it to the government and they gave it back, I don't know how much was taken by the government in handling.
00:16:02.080 And, you know, all these very important people getting paid along the way.
00:16:06.160 Look, the math is bizarre to begin with, but he's got mixed messages because he always says when he defends the carbon tax, it's to punish bad choices.
00:16:16.760 He doesn't use the word punish.
00:16:17.660 He says to price pollution, which is what he calls carbon.
00:16:21.680 So he says it's to cause people to change their life, their lifestyle, their habits.
00:16:28.300 So on the one hand, he needs oil and gas to be painful, to get people to correct their evil ways.
00:16:36.240 But on the other hand, he's saying, oh, don't worry about it.
00:16:38.400 Most of you won't feel a thing.
00:16:39.980 I think he's got to pick a lane.
00:16:41.380 Well, Ezra, let's not pretend that these high gas prices are an accident.
00:16:47.140 These high gas prices are exactly what the Trudeau government wants.
00:16:50.380 We've seen the government impose a carbon tax, continue to raise the carbon tax.
00:16:54.740 Now we're hearing that the government is going to bring in a second carbon tax through fuel regulations.
00:17:00.220 And the government knows exactly what that second carbon tax will do.
00:17:03.520 According to its own numbers, the second carbon tax could add another 13 cents per litre to the price of gas.
00:17:11.280 And you know what?
00:17:12.020 The government's analysis shows exactly who is going to be worse off from the second carbon tax.
00:17:17.840 It's low and middle income Canadians.
00:17:20.260 It's single mothers.
00:17:21.400 It's people who are already struggling with energy poverty.
00:17:24.320 And it's seniors who are living on fixed income.
00:17:27.400 And then, Ezra, I mean, we have seen the Trudeau government just hammer oil and gas restricting supply.
00:17:33.520 They've rejected Northern Gateway.
00:17:35.080 They removed the regulatory goalposts on Energy East.
00:17:38.040 They put in a no more pipelines.
00:17:39.520 They put in a discriminatory tanker ban.
00:17:42.020 So we can't actually sit here and pretend that these high gas prices aren't exactly what the Trudeau liberals are pushing for.
00:17:49.600 Yeah, you're so right about it being regressive.
00:17:52.000 I mean, if you have two people on the road, both commuting to work, one of them is working class, has an old beater of a car.
00:18:01.760 Maybe it's worth $15,000.
00:18:03.620 And then there's someone in a fancier car.
00:18:05.760 Let's call it $80,000.
00:18:07.280 They both fill up their car with gas.
00:18:11.240 You know, I filled up my car the other day.
00:18:12.860 It's over $100 to fill it.
00:18:14.280 That stings.
00:18:15.920 But if you're a working class person, let's say, on minimum wage, it's going to sting you a lot harder.
00:18:20.080 We both have the same size gas tank.
00:18:22.420 But it really is a regressive tax.
00:18:25.700 And you're right.
00:18:26.920 There are other jurisdictions that have reduced their gasoline taxes.
00:18:30.580 Trudeau adamantly won't.
00:18:32.740 He wants this, as he said in that little video, as prices go up.
00:18:38.440 And he didn't say that in a bad way.
00:18:40.020 He is excited about this because it's forcing people, in his mind, to, oh, just buy a Tesla.
00:18:47.260 Oh, just that.
00:18:48.100 Just $100,000.
00:18:48.780 Oh, just take public transit, which is not available to most Canadians, first of all, because, I mean, it's there in some big cities, but not in rural parts.
00:18:59.340 Like, what's a family supposed to do?
00:19:01.640 What's someone in, what's a farmer or a trucker supposed to do?
00:19:05.620 I really don't think Justin Trudeau thinks carefully about how his policies apply to the ordinary person.
00:19:12.020 Or maybe it's the opposite of Franco.
00:19:13.580 Maybe he absolutely does think about it, and he doesn't care.
00:19:16.340 Well, he's making $380,000 a year.
00:19:20.960 He has given himself three pay raises during the pandemic, right?
00:19:24.800 So, of course, he's out of touch with the actual struggles facing everyday Canadians.
00:19:29.800 And here's why the carbon tax is so punishing.
00:19:32.360 We've already talked about it, but if you're already struggling to put ground beef in your grocery cart,
00:19:37.020 if you can already barely afford to put fuel in your car on the way to work,
00:19:41.180 then the higher gas taxes are absolutely punishing, especially when we're dealing with four decades high inflation.
00:19:48.560 And come on, it's not like this government doesn't know that it could immediately provide relief by cutting its big tax bill at the pumps.
00:19:55.960 I mean, as to your point, we're seeing this all over the place.
00:19:58.800 You just saw United Kingdom announce gas tax relief.
00:20:02.200 South Korea cut its gas taxes.
00:20:04.660 Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Ireland, India, cutting gas taxes.
00:20:08.860 Alberta, Newfoundland, and Labrador, Ontario, cutting gas taxes.
00:20:13.100 Florida, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, all announcing gas tax relief.
00:20:17.340 So you have these other countries who are doing the right thing, cutting taxes,
00:20:21.440 all while Ottawa continues to stick us with higher tax bills.
00:20:24.840 Wow, that's a great list of jurisdictions.
00:20:26.800 I knew about some of those, but not all of them.
00:20:30.300 You know, traditionally, European countries have high gas prices because they have a lot of taxes.
00:20:36.320 Also, most of them have to import gas from gasoline or oil from outside their own borders.
00:20:43.320 But most European countries are smaller, by the way, than Canada, the second largest country in the world.
00:20:50.120 But so I think historically people could say, well, look, European gasoline prices are higher.
00:20:55.460 But our chief competitor is the United States.
00:20:58.300 And I know gas prices are high there, too.
00:21:00.300 But they're not as high as they are up here.
00:21:02.540 And they don't have the same carbon taxes they have up here.
00:21:05.060 And as you pointed out, some states are reducing their gas taxes.
00:21:07.860 I'm worried that both Canada and the United States are doing poorly because of inflation and high prices.
00:21:13.900 But as Trudeau really tries to make Canada, you know, use that world economic form phrase, build back better, by which he means, you know, an environmentalist agenda.
00:21:25.480 When we know that the U.S., Joe Biden has failed, he couldn't get his own party on side.
00:21:31.100 So I'm worried you're going to see a divergence, Franco.
00:21:33.600 I'm worried that things are going to get worse faster in Canada and they're not going to get as bad in America.
00:21:40.900 And you're going to see the difference.
00:21:42.140 And let's say, you know, Norway or Holland has high gas prices.
00:21:48.780 OK, that's an interesting comparison.
00:21:50.920 But if the United States of America becomes more and more advantageous to do business than Canada, I'm worried you're going to see what you saw before, which is companies moving out for lower energy prices.
00:22:03.920 I'm worried that it's one thing to talk about for like far away places with high gas prices.
00:22:09.360 But if we start to pull away from our American competitors, I think that's that's going to really accelerate the recession up here.
00:22:16.460 I don't know. Maybe I'm stating the obvious, but I'm worried about it, Franco.
00:22:20.180 And Ezra, get this.
00:22:22.200 Even President Joe Biden is pushing for gas tax relief.
00:22:25.940 Even Biden is pushing Congress and state governments to cut gas taxes, even Biden.
00:22:30.940 So here's another thing that we have to understand, because you're talking about things getting worse.
00:22:35.900 Well, under the Trudeau government's plan, things will get worse.
00:22:38.660 The big tax bill is only going up.
00:22:40.720 Trudeau wants to keep raising his carbon tax to nearly 40 cents per liter of gas.
00:22:46.180 And Ezra, we started our conversation talking about the PBO's numbers that show that this year the carbon tax will cost the average household hundreds of dollars more than the rebates.
00:22:56.380 Well, if you look from now through to 2030, well, the average household will end up paying anywhere from about $6,400 all the way to $13,000 more in carbon taxes than what they get back in rebates.
00:23:12.120 So this big tax bill is only getting worse under the Trudeau government's cranking up of its carbon tax.
00:23:18.320 Well, Franco, this is dark news, but we have to hear it.
00:23:22.960 And boy, you've got your finger on the pulse of all these jurisdictions.
00:23:25.500 It is true.
00:23:26.600 The whole world is rebelling against high gas prices.
00:23:31.580 Europe, it's the high gas prices and high oil prices and natural gas.
00:23:36.440 That's a form of hostage taking by Russia, which is using that as an economic weapon.
00:23:41.860 The crazy thing is our own prime minister is using it as a weapon against us himself domestically.
00:23:46.660 I don't know. We'll continue to follow the story.
00:23:49.040 I think it's going to get worse, and I hope you guys keep up the fight.
00:23:51.920 You guys are one of the only independent critics out there because the Canadian Taxpayers Federation does not take money from the government.
00:23:59.540 So you're free to criticize them, and you're one of the few good guys left.
00:24:02.780 Franco, keep up the fight.
00:24:04.820 Well, thanks so much for having me on tonight.
00:24:06.680 Well, it's our pleasure.
00:24:07.480 There you have it, Franco Teresano from the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.
00:24:10.960 Stay with us. More ahead.
00:24:11.840 Hey, welcome back.
00:24:24.520 Your feedback.
00:24:25.140 Darkthrone says,
00:24:26.060 This is silly catering to this type of delusional behavior.
00:24:29.900 This man needs to be in a male prison, and we need to bring reality to the forefront.
00:24:34.680 You're talking about transgender prisoners being put in whatever prison they choose as long as they identify as women.
00:24:42.680 And I just want to tell you what I mean by that.
00:24:45.300 To express themselves as women is the term for they dress like a woman and maybe get things cut off.
00:24:53.560 But just to identify as women, it's like that picture I showed from the Toronto police where the guy's got a full beard.
00:24:59.420 He's not even pretending.
00:25:00.420 He's just saying,
00:25:00.980 I identify as a woman.
00:25:03.480 It's like these people who say,
00:25:04.800 I identify as a cat or identify as like, you know, another critter.
00:25:11.280 It's just, it's a pretend.
00:25:14.700 But they actually have that right here in Canada.
00:25:17.080 It's not surprising to me that we read the story about it in New Jersey, but not in Canada,
00:25:22.060 because our press and the government are in collusion on it.
00:25:24.840 Ian Edgehill says,
00:25:27.660 Hey, Ezra, love Rebel News and being a supporter.
00:25:31.040 Very glad to see that you've lost the beard.
00:25:33.340 You look much better without it.
00:25:34.800 Thanks for the great reporting and being the conscience of the nation.
00:25:37.660 Keep up the good work.
00:25:39.580 Thanks very much.
00:25:40.500 My wife says she's disappointed that I shaved my beard, but my mom is glad.
00:25:46.700 William Aykroyd says,
00:25:48.020 Well, that's the thing.
00:25:54.480 I think I looked old and it's not even old because I don't mind looking old.
00:25:58.620 It makes me, maybe people will mistake old for wise, but it just wasn't growing in.
00:26:06.080 Like, I mean, I stuck with that for like two months and it wasn't getting any better.
00:26:10.720 I think it just looked a little disheveled and, you know, unkempt.
00:26:17.760 Even though I really tried hard to make it look good, it just didn't.
00:26:21.780 So thank you for the encouragement.
00:26:23.420 I am going to continue to shave.
00:26:25.080 It's the only time in my life I've tried to grow a beard since I was like a late teenager.
00:26:29.180 It didn't work then either.
00:26:30.180 And I think I'm done forever.
00:26:32.920 Anyways.
00:26:33.900 Hey, everybody.
00:26:34.460 Thanks for watching the show.
00:26:35.460 Until tomorrow, on behalf of all of us here at Rebel World Headquarters, see you at home.
00:26:39.000 Good night.
00:26:39.840 Keep fighting for freedom.
00:26:41.020 Alexa, one of our fantastic reporters out of Quebec, is currently doing a story to find out what the public thought about eating insects in place of the consumption of meat and other animal byproducts.
00:26:50.580 This is being promoted, of course, very heavily by organizations like the World Economic Forum and a few of our elite politicians that see themselves as above the rest of us.
00:26:59.180 Alexa does a fantastic job detailing the World Economic Forum's plans when it comes to our diet in the near future.
00:27:04.940 Now, I encourage you to check out Alexa's report and go to exposethereset.com to find out more.
00:27:09.920 For the meantime, we spoke to some of these individuals here at the Stampede, the world's largest outdoor event.
00:27:14.680 We've got ourselves some cricket hot dogs as well as some worm hot dogs.
00:27:18.580 Let's hear what these Calgary Stampede goers had to say about changing their diet from meat to insects.
00:27:23.920 Actually, I'm a vegetarian, so I would, you know, not try that.
00:27:29.900 No, I'm not a fan.
00:27:31.500 No, thanks.
00:27:32.380 You don't like bugs?
00:27:33.600 I hate bugs.
00:27:34.560 No, thank you.
00:27:35.440 Would you like some?
00:27:36.360 No, I'm good.
00:27:37.320 Uh, I don't know.
00:27:39.800 Not too appealing to me.
00:27:41.400 Not appealing?
00:27:42.380 No?
00:27:42.600 Do you think you would?
00:27:43.380 No.
00:27:43.780 No?
00:27:44.080 Why not?
00:27:44.460 It was a little good.
00:27:45.060 The worm hot dog, the cricket hot dog.
00:27:46.700 How do you feel about that?
00:27:47.400 Uh, disgusting.
00:27:48.800 You wouldn't want some?
00:27:49.420 No, I actually wouldn't.
00:27:50.900 No, but you should eat bugs.
00:27:54.160 It's better for the environment.
00:27:56.020 I'm not drunk enough, bro.
00:27:59.820 There's a lot more crunch than a normal hot dog.
00:28:02.060 But it's kind of like puppy dogs with chips, so it's not bad.
00:28:06.580 In a good way?
00:28:07.280 Yeah.
00:28:07.720 All right, well, what do you think if I told you no more meat?
00:28:09.820 You weren't allowed to have fish, chicken, meat, cows, pigs, only crickets, worms, perhaps ants.
00:28:15.660 How would you feel about that?
00:28:17.340 I would, I'll turn to meat like it's a necessary time, so I'm not opposed.
00:28:20.900 So this whole push for people to eat more bugs instead of meat, how do you feel?
00:28:24.280 I love my meat.
00:28:25.760 I love cows, but I love eating them too.
00:28:28.020 What's your favorite piece of the cow?
00:28:30.260 I like a filet mignon or a T-bone steak.
00:28:34.780 It's okay for it.
00:28:35.940 Others feel okay with that.
00:28:38.500 I don't think I agree with that.
00:28:40.820 Well, it's not bad, though, because, you know, in Vietnam, we have some similar dishes, too, like from insects.
00:28:47.440 Um, it's not appealing to me either, but if it's a good source for nutrients, then maybe in the future we can consider.
00:28:55.860 Now, what if they said for the protein that we're allowed to consume, we're not allowed to eat meat, we're only allowed to eat bugs.
00:29:01.860 How would that make you feel?
00:29:03.600 I feel like my jaws just get restricted.
00:29:05.840 But only alternative.
00:29:08.240 I think I could do it.
00:29:09.100 Yeah.
00:29:09.480 I wouldn't mind.
00:29:10.760 Yeah.
00:29:11.320 Buddy, I know everything about the nature, so I'm good.
00:29:16.440 Would you like some?
00:29:17.580 Yeah, I think I'll put it at it.
00:29:19.200 I'll show you how it's done, man.
00:29:21.940 My type of home.
00:29:23.000 Right there.
00:29:23.600 I think I was still alive.
00:29:25.840 Ew!
00:29:27.500 What's this one?
00:29:28.080 My type of home.
00:29:28.840 We got, uh, there's insect hot dogs that's on here.
00:29:31.280 Insect hot dogs.
00:29:32.820 Insect hot dogs.
00:29:33.680 You know what I think?
00:29:34.500 That's nasty, bro.
00:29:36.260 Wait, it's better for the environment, though.
00:29:38.200 Nutrients, nutrients.
00:29:39.680 Yeah, exactly.
00:29:40.460 I know, I know.
00:29:41.420 It's high in protein.
00:29:42.500 You want a bite?
00:29:43.900 I mean, mine as well, right?
00:29:47.640 I'm going to ask some extra creeps on this.
00:29:48.900 Got to get some extra toppings there.
00:29:50.980 Yo, boys, watch this.
00:29:52.180 You're going to have to play this boy.
00:29:53.120 It's better for the environment, you know.
00:29:54.280 No payment?
00:29:54.840 No payment, no.
00:29:55.540 Not even, like, tickets?
00:29:57.400 No.
00:29:58.840 Oh, they got them inside the burger, too.
00:30:01.400 Is that right?
00:30:02.280 All right, there you go.
00:30:03.100 How is it?
00:30:04.120 It's good?
00:30:05.860 You try it.
00:30:06.340 It's good.
00:30:08.760 But apparently, it's really tasty.
00:30:10.160 Are you going to have some more of those?
00:30:11.540 I mean, if you want to take those, yeah?
00:30:13.000 Sure.
00:30:13.660 Why don't you try it?
00:30:15.020 All right, we're going around seeing if people would eat it.
00:30:16.800 How do you guys feel about that, though?
00:30:18.500 This?
00:30:19.020 Yeah, yeah.
00:30:19.460 This good.
00:30:21.000 What's your channel name?
00:30:22.340 Rebel News.
00:30:23.140 Rebel News.
00:30:23.860 Yep.
00:30:24.040 1.5 million subscribers.
00:30:27.280 Yeah, that's right.
00:30:27.900 Shit.
00:30:29.240 We're up here in YYC just booling, man.
00:30:32.820 Over here, this guy's junk as .
00:30:34.860 I ain't good enough for that.
00:30:36.360 The bugs are good, though, eh?
00:30:37.460 Yeah, they are.
00:30:38.560 Yeah?
00:30:39.180 I'm all about that nutrition.
00:30:41.000 That's .
00:30:41.840 What would you say, though, if I said you weren't allowed to have meat at all anymore?
00:30:45.460 You were only allowed to have bugs?
00:30:46.780 You'd be okay with that?
00:30:48.120 This?
00:30:48.500 Yeah, this is protein.
00:30:49.900 Yeah, but no more fish.
00:30:51.020 No more fish.
00:30:51.680 No more chicken.
00:30:52.180 I'm going to eat all of it.
00:30:53.200 I eat all of mine.
00:30:55.700 Holy .
00:30:56.660 Holy .
00:30:58.660 It's protein, guys.
00:31:00.340 It's protein.
00:31:01.340 How do you feel about that?
00:31:02.280 You think that's a good source of protein?
00:31:03.500 Spicy.
00:31:04.540 Spicy?
00:31:05.320 It's good .
00:31:06.200 Good .
00:31:07.160 What the ?
00:31:08.040 Yo, we up in YYC, we're cooling.
00:31:11.180 Yo, shout out to this guy, shout out to this guy.
00:31:14.100 Yo, add me up on Instagram.
00:31:17.720 What are you talking about?
00:31:20.580 It's environmentally friendly.
00:31:22.100 Is that real?
00:31:23.220 I don't want that in my mouth.
00:31:24.280 Is that real?
00:31:25.840 Yes, sir.
00:31:27.260 Where is it from?
00:31:28.100 It's cricket hot dogs.
00:31:29.180 I'll take a bite.
00:31:29.760 Yeah, Alex.
00:31:30.960 It's environmentally friendly.
00:31:32.960 Where did you get it from?
00:31:34.380 Well, like, I'm not trying to do that right now.
00:31:36.540 I'll take a bite.
00:31:37.240 Wait, I'm saying it's a real thing.
00:31:39.000 Ew, ew, ew, ew, ew.
00:31:40.300 I know.
00:31:40.640 They're literally in the future, which was like,
00:31:42.640 for sure.
00:31:43.040 Yes.
00:31:43.700 Oh.
00:31:44.200 Oh.
00:31:44.700 Wow.
00:31:45.200 Oh.
00:31:45.700 Well, now, you've got to go get a new one.
00:31:48.240 Zero out of 10.
00:31:49.280 Zero out of 10?
00:31:49.740 Zero out of 10.
00:31:50.360 That's naughty.
00:31:50.860 But it's for the environment, right?
00:31:52.360 Can't they just bring just normal food?
00:31:54.380 I'm not going to eat them right now.
00:31:55.880 They're like, right now.
00:31:57.600 It's acceptable.
00:31:58.460 Your popcorn dog's not.
00:32:04.000 How do you like that?
00:32:07.240 Pretty good.
00:32:08.080 Pretty good, eh?
00:32:08.700 Would you go for it?
00:32:09.580 It feels like I'm eating the quickest legs.
00:32:12.200 How about you?
00:32:13.000 You know it's better for the environment.
00:32:14.400 You think so?
00:32:16.360 I don't know about that.
00:32:17.520 It's environmentally friendly.
00:32:19.300 Yeah, well, still.
00:32:21.460 Still wouldn't.
00:32:22.080 It doesn't matter.
00:32:22.880 I say no to bugs.
00:32:24.080 No to the bugs.
00:32:24.620 No bugs.
00:32:25.220 Actually, it's not even the bugs.
00:32:26.460 It's the fact that it is not a lot.
00:32:29.400 All right, fair enough.
00:32:30.480 Pick your nuggets.
00:32:31.260 So what kind of condiments are we using here?
00:32:33.640 With this , you got to eat natural.
00:32:37.900 Natural, natural.
00:32:39.140 All natural is the protein.
00:32:40.640 All natural is the protein.
00:32:41.640 Those ones are cooked, aren't they?
00:32:42.860 You want the fresh stuff, though, right?
00:32:44.480 Yeah, yeah, yeah, sir, yeah, sir.
00:32:46.860 Fresh cooked is always the weight.
00:32:50.440 Can I try that?
00:32:51.540 You want to try it?
00:32:52.240 You got it.
00:32:52.740 It's for the ground, bro.
00:32:53.700 Yo, it's for the greater good.
00:32:55.080 She don't know.
00:32:55.620 She don't know.
00:32:55.920 Go for it.
00:32:56.520 Go for it.
00:32:57.280 Watch my girl do it right now.
00:32:58.740 It's high in protein.
00:32:59.740 It's going to save the world.
00:33:03.740 Hurry up.
00:33:04.740 Oh, my god.
00:33:05.440 Do you expect a hot dog with a smooth taste?
00:33:08.620 This got the crunch?
00:33:09.780 This is protein.
00:33:10.960 This is protein.
00:33:12.340 Protein.
00:33:13.340 Protein.
00:33:15.760 Wait, my question is.
00:33:16.980 Some good stuff.
00:33:17.660 This is going to eat it all.
00:33:19.340 I will.
00:33:19.940 I will, too.
00:33:20.440 I will, too.
00:33:20.940 I will food out of it, man.
00:33:22.360 This is good.
00:33:23.860 This is good.
00:33:25.940 Oh, this is crazy.
00:33:27.140 I got to be honest.
00:33:27.940 That is good.
00:33:28.940 That is good.
00:33:29.940 That is good.
00:33:30.940 First, if I could just ask, we've got the worm hot dog here.
00:33:33.940 What inspired that?
00:33:36.340 I was just looking for some crazy idea for the Stampede.
00:33:39.300 The Stampede is known for providing different foods
00:33:43.260 and whatnot.
00:33:44.060 And I just thought I'd do something crazy.
00:33:49.540 So I came up with the mealworm hot dog.
00:33:51.880 Well, speaking of something crazy,
00:33:53.940 places like the World Economic Forum
00:33:55.380 are promoting the further consumption of insects.
00:33:58.180 How do you feel about that plan?
00:34:00.220 Well, me, myself, I'm a meat eater.
00:34:03.460 So I'm just, I mean, I don't mind eating the worms.
00:34:06.340 I mean, they're healthy for you.
00:34:07.580 They got a lot of protein and whatnot.
00:34:09.260 But I definitely wouldn't replace worms with meat, myself.
00:34:13.380 Well, there you have it.
00:34:14.380 We talked to some of the people here at the Stampede
00:34:16.380 to find out how willing they were to have some of these cricket
00:34:19.060 and worm hot dogs.
00:34:20.260 I get the sense that some in the World Economic Forum would be
00:34:22.820 pretty happy about some of the consumption we saw in this video.
00:34:25.540 But go to ExposeTheReset.com to find out more about this whole elitist,
00:34:31.340 globalist push towards us eating insects instead of meat.
00:34:34.380 For myself, I've got to be honest,
00:34:37.340 I'd like to find some real food to get my hands on.
00:34:40.220 Maybe something that's, you know, environmentally sure, whatever.
00:34:43.180 As long as it tastes good, I think, is the main point.
00:34:45.500 For Rebel News, I'm Sidney Fazzard.
