00:04:56.540 Imagine if we had an honest poll up here in Canada where the CBC takes $1.5 billion from Trudeau,

00:05:05.720 where left-wing lobby groups like the Tides Foundation pour money into climate journalism everywhere that'll take it, including the Toronto Star.
00:05:12.540 So yeah, we're not stupid, except that lucky 13% of us who think everything's fine.
00:05:18.640 So some journalists have been trying to build back the credibility of their biased wreckage
00:05:23.500 by saying, um, we're fact-checkers now.
00:05:27.660 Which is odd, because I thought that all reporters check their facts all the time.
00:05:32.380 Calling yourself a journalist who's a fact-checker now makes me wonder,

00:05:44.560 Now, Daniel Dale is the fact-checker at the Toronto Star,
00:05:48.260 who was then hired away by CNN to fact-check Donald Trump.
00:05:52.140 So here's how that goes.

00:05:56.220 But if you look at what we've done,
00:05:58.460 I closed it and you said he's xenophobic.
00:06:00.820 He's a racist and he's xenophobic.
00:06:02.620 So here's a CNN facts check on that.
00:06:06.120 Did Biden say Trump was xenophobic for imposing travel restrictions on China?
00:06:11.180 This is lacking context.
00:06:13.780 It's not clear Biden even knew about Trump's China travel restrictions
00:06:17.600 when he called Trump xenophobic on the day the restrictions were unveiled.
00:06:21.380 Biden has never explicitly linked his accusation of xenophobia to these travel restrictions.
00:06:27.480 So a fact-check is that Biden, well, sure, he did say the word xenophobic,
00:06:32.060 but it's unclear what he meant.
00:06:34.020 How's that even a fact-check?
00:06:36.020 Oh, I guess you could literally read Biden's tweets on the subject.
00:06:39.600 Back in March, Trump tweeted about closing borders to China.
00:06:42.880 And Biden said, stop the xenophobic fear-mongering, be honest, take responsibility, do your job.

00:06:51.840 He wrote it himself, or his staff did, but CNN says it.

00:07:27.660 Well, take it from the fact-checkers at CTV.
00:07:31.240 U.S. President Donald Trump refused to condemn white supremacy
00:07:34.640 during his debate against former U.S. President Joe Biden on Tuesday.
00:07:37.780 Now, is that true?
00:07:40.020 Because I watched the debate, and he not only condemned them,
00:07:43.640 he pointed out he's repeatedly condemned them before.
00:07:46.200 Take a listen.
00:07:46.760 He criticized the vice president for not specifically calling out Antifa
00:07:51.840 and other left-wing extremist groups.
00:07:54.840 But are you willing tonight to condemn white supremacists and militia groups
00:07:59.580 and to say that they need to stand down and not add to the violence in a number of these cities,

00:09:46.840 ask Joe Biden if he would condemn Antifa and Black Lives Matter rioters
00:09:50.800 who have actually been burning and rioting
00:09:52.920 and murdering their way across America for six months?
00:09:55.160 I wonder why he didn't do that.
00:09:58.320 Because I'm not one of the 13% who trusts.
00:10:00.660 Back to the CTV story, which starts off with a lie, as you can see.
00:10:06.300 Now, Canada's political leaders are all speaking out
00:10:09.000 against the issue of white supremacy,
00:10:11.140 one that many acknowledge is present in Canada, too.
00:10:14.320 The Prime Minister has condemned,
00:10:15.720 and will continue to condemn,
00:10:17.280 right-wing extremism, white supremacy,
00:10:19.140 and racism in all its form,
00:10:20.860 read a statement from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's office
00:10:23.240 sent to CTV News Wednesday.
00:10:26.100 Well, two thoughts.
00:10:26.660 How do you write a whole story in CTV?
00:10:30.660 About that, without mentioning Trudeau in blackface.
00:10:34.840 How do you talk with a straight face
00:10:37.620 about Trudeau condemning racism
00:10:40.260 when he himself was racist so many times he lost count?

00:11:36.740 opting instead to brand it solely a left-wing problem
00:11:39.820 and even telling one far-right hate group
00:11:42.600 to stand back and stand by.

00:11:47.720 They just made this up.
00:11:50.980 But that far-right hate group to stand back,
00:11:53.920 they're referring to the Proud Boys.
00:11:56.820 The far-right group Trump refused to condemn
00:11:59.480 was first founded in Canada
00:12:01.120 and since taken root in the United States,
00:12:03.100 which is something interim Green Party leader
00:12:04.660 Joanne Roberts made a point to mention
00:12:06.140 in the statement she sent to CTV News.
00:12:09.120 I know a little bit of the Proud Boys.
00:12:10.600 It's basically a loose fraternity
00:12:13.460 that Gavin McInnes started years ago.
00:12:15.840 When I was in Israel,
00:12:17.100 three and a half years ago with Gavin,
00:12:18.820 he had to meet up with some Proud Boys
00:12:20.840 in a bar in Tel Aviv.

00:12:27.120 They were Jews in Tel Aviv,
00:12:30.140 meeting up for drinks.
00:12:31.540 Doesn't sound very neo-Nazi to me.

00:14:50.740 In Las Vegas, churches were shut down, but not casinos.
00:14:54.020 I've seen churches hold ceremonies in Walmarts
00:14:57.360 that never had to close.
00:14:59.260 And it brings us to a case that I saw in Montreal.
00:15:03.160 A few days ago was the highest holiday
00:15:06.260 in the Jewish calendar called Yom Kippur,
00:15:09.680 the Day of Atonement,
00:15:11.340 one of the days of the year
00:15:12.640 where even irreligious Jews go to synagogue.
00:15:15.040 And so it was a shocking report I heard out of Montreal
00:15:19.260 that one such synagogue where the Jews were praying
00:15:23.340 socially distanced and whatnot,
00:15:26.520 police raided the synagogue without a warrant,
00:15:31.120 demanded that the Jews inside disperse out into the streets
00:15:34.000 and then shooed them home.
00:15:36.040 I heard about this online from a Montreal resident
00:15:40.140 who was in the synagogue.
00:15:41.860 His name is Beryl Solomon, and he joins us now.

00:15:54.640 what it looked like, and how it transpired?

00:16:01.240 We were all praying at the last part.
00:16:04.960 You hit on something very, very important.

00:16:12.680 and I think that everybody's trying to do their best,
00:16:14.660 but this is where doing your best begins becoming problematic,

00:16:22.940 they said we were respecting all of our duties.
00:16:27.140 Everything that we had to do, we were respecting.
00:16:28.980 The next day, another new police officer showed up

00:16:33.860 and therefore, everybody had to vacate the premise

00:16:43.040 It's like really the crescendo of the whole prayer service,
00:16:46.600 and the rabbi had asked the police officer

00:16:50.400 we needed about 20 more minutes to finish up.

00:16:53.360 and everybody has to get out of the building,
00:16:55.200 and the police officers stood there in their car,
00:16:59.360 and they were telling everybody,

00:17:03.100 and they were causing people to leave,
00:17:06.260 and it just created a mass panic for absolutely no reason,
00:17:11.360 and I was raised, you know,
00:17:14.400 I was raised to say,

00:17:18.560 meaning when you see that there's an injustice,
00:17:20.960 stand up to it and face it dead on,
00:17:23.960 and that's what I decided to do.

00:17:36.080 and there were other people who had said,

00:17:39.180 there was other synagogues that the police showed up to

00:17:43.640 and nothing happened,
00:17:47.380 and they passed inspection,
00:17:50.380 and I said to myself,

00:17:57.140 now we have to be inspected,
00:17:58.680 like am I living in Canada,
00:18:00.120 or am I living in a communist country?
00:18:01.900 Now the synagogue is Beth Chabad Cote St. Luke.
00:18:06.540 I'm familiar with the Chabad synagogues.
00:18:09.420 It's a religious,
00:18:12.620 it's a more observant denomination,
00:18:15.280 if you use that word of Judaism,
00:18:16.960 but very friendly and very public-facing,

00:18:25.940 other police officers came,
00:18:28.200 sort of checked things out,
00:18:29.240 and gave it the thumbs up.

00:18:39.180 Did they talk to the rabbi?
00:18:41.340 Did they use loudspeakers?
00:18:43.520 Like how did they introduce themselves?

00:18:46.520 And it's sort of a strange negotiation.
00:18:48.480 The rabbi's saying,
00:18:49.480 we just need 20 minutes and we're done,
00:18:50.900 and the cops saying,

00:18:52.840 I'm not sure if that's a medical determination,
00:18:54.960 if the virus only attacks you
