Hello, my Rebels. This is the last podcast I'm doing before we know the results of Canada's
00:00:04.880
election. And I sort of sum up what I think the main characteristics of this election campaign
00:00:11.400
were. I don't really make a prediction of how I think it's going to go, other than I think it's
00:00:16.580
going to be a liberal minority. I'll get out of the way in a second, but can I invite you to go
00:00:21.400
to premium.rebelnews.com and become a subscriber? You get the video version of the show, of the
00:00:27.980
podcast. I think it's worth it. I think we show a lot of interesting things. I know you're probably
00:00:33.300
listening to this podcast in a venue that you can't watch, but for when you're at home, I think
00:00:38.540
it's a great thing to see. And even if you don't really use it, it's a great way to support us.
00:00:43.580
It's only eight bucks a month. So please go to premium.rebelnews.com. Thanks. Here's the podcast.
00:00:57.980
Tonight, it's finally election night in Canada. What a disaster. It's October 21st, and this is
00:01:10.340
the Ezra Levant Show. Why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon consumer I know?
00:01:17.180
There's 8,500 customers here, and you won't give them an answer. The only thing I have to say to the
00:01:22.800
government, but why I publish it? It's because it's my bloody right to do so.
00:01:32.220
Hello, my friends. It's election night. We post this video to the internet at 8 p.m. Eastern time,
00:01:38.160
which is just before the results start coming in. So instead of preparing a lengthy show that will
00:01:42.460
immediately become obsolete, I'd like to invite you to join me, Sheila Gunn-Reed, Kian Bextie,
00:01:47.900
and David Menzies for our live election night coverage. Just hop over to our YouTube channel
00:01:54.220
or our main page at rebelnews.com, and we will start that at 9 p.m. Eastern, just 7 p.m. Mountain
00:02:00.780
Time, 6 p.m. Pacific Time. Kian and I will be right here in our Toronto studio, and Sheila will be at the
00:02:08.800
Conservative Election Night event in Saskatchewan, unless they handcuff her like they did to David.
00:02:13.640
And David himself will be at the People's Party Headquarters near Quebec City in Maxime Bernier's
00:02:20.000
riding. We might try to, yeah, we might try and smuggle someone in the Liberal Party Headquarters,
00:02:25.880
but who knows? They might shoot him, judging by their antics. But seriously, though, I think it's
00:02:31.120
going to be a great show tonight. We did this in the springtime on the night of Alberta's provincial
00:02:36.100
election. It was a huge success with our viewers. We actually got more viewers that night than other
00:02:40.680
legacy media networks did, including the CBC's live stream. I mean, seriously, who on earth would
00:02:46.180
watch the CBC for what's happening in Alberta? But I think the same thing applies to this national
00:02:52.140
election. I've always told you that the CBC is untrustworthy, biased, in the tank for the Liberals.
00:02:58.520
I've shown you evidence like Rosemary Barton literally taking personal selfies with Justin Trudeau for her
00:03:04.240
little hope chest that she hides under her bed, and then getting her dreams to come true one day on
00:03:09.260
The Bachelorette, or whatever this video embarrassment was all about.
00:03:14.000
Last book you've read, or the book you're reading?
00:03:31.300
the new Ken Follett, the third book that is the sequel to Pillars of the Earth.
00:03:43.920
No, no, it's not sci-fi. It's just a sweeping historical epic, I'm sure, but I haven't started it yet.
00:03:50.040
What kind of music are you listening to right now? If you have time? Or podcasts? Podcasts?
00:03:55.660
No, I don't. I've tried. I run regularly, and I've tried to do the podcast thing, but it hasn't really...
00:04:02.660
It doesn't really say... I don't like people talking in my ears when I'm trying to run. I like to sort of vibe out.
00:04:12.540
I tell you, that was not a journalistic interview.
00:04:28.240
And literally filed a lawsuit against the Conservative Party
00:04:31.380
right in the middle of the campaign with Barton herself as a named plaintiff.
00:04:35.020
That is insane. That is unheard of. That is unprecedented.
00:04:37.340
And it's a nuisance suit. It's a slap suit, as they call it.
00:04:41.140
Strategic litigation against public participation.
00:04:48.440
We just wanted to ask you a few questions about your lawsuit with the CPC.
00:04:53.480
So, we issued a statement today, which I'm happy to share with you if you don't already have it.
00:05:00.300
It's a comprehensive statement, and it takes you through why we took the action that we did.
00:05:07.340
But beyond that, we really aren't going to comment any further until after the election.
00:05:12.080
And that's what we've said to all media that have asked us to comment further beyond the statement.
00:05:17.960
That would have made sense to wait until after the election so that it didn't compromise your guys' coverage of the election,
00:05:23.240
and especially your journalist, Rosemary Barton.
00:05:25.940
I'm not sure if she was aware of this beforehand.
00:05:31.840
So, in the statement, that's as much as we have to say about it.
00:05:36.980
And, as I said to you, we're really not going to add more to it until after the election.
00:05:44.820
I wish that you'd done that before, because now I can't watch the CBC and believe that you guys are nonpartisan,
00:05:50.100
because it's really an outstanding thing to sue a political party in the middle of an election.
00:05:55.420
Don't you think that that is just—who okayed that?
00:05:59.260
Well, if you read in the statement, we took the same action in 2015 with the Broadband Institute, as well as the Conservatives.
00:06:08.060
But, as I say, it's all in the statement, and honestly, that's as much as I or anyone else has to say.
00:06:13.160
Nirmala Nadeau, Calgary Skyview, actually has an ad up right now with CBC footage.
00:06:20.360
We send out cease and desist letters whenever anything's brought to our attention, where we have to take that action.
00:06:29.640
And we'll look forward to that cease and desist.
00:06:32.800
I love the fact that Kian was right in the belly of the beast there.
00:06:35.860
But, look, you just can't get any lower than the Canadian media, at least the bought-and-paid-for rented media.
00:06:42.220
I repeat again, how they all had their own images, their own proof that Trudeau was in blackface,
00:06:49.520
but none of them had published any of those images until an American media outlet, Time Magazine, broke the conspiracy of silence.
00:06:59.260
They all knew about the biggest scandal of the campaign.
00:07:01.080
They all decided to keep it a secret for their boyfriend, Trudeau.
00:07:04.640
But they, I mean, the CBC, CTV, Global, all of them, only once someone from a foreign country, not on the Trudeau payroll, not with a first-date crush on Trudeau,
00:07:19.480
Same with the news that Captain Carbon Tax was actually using not one but two campaign jets.
00:07:26.120
This Trudeau selfie girl, Althea Raj, on the left there, actually tweeted that everyone knew about it.
00:07:35.280
This was not a secret, as in everyone in the media party knew about it.
00:07:38.700
None of them bothered to report it to the little people, because why trouble us with such trifling details?
00:07:44.220
So I think the number one story of this campaign was actually the total failure of the media, a planned failure,
00:07:49.340
because Trudeau bought or rented just about every journalist.
00:07:52.500
In fact, that was the question for which Andrew Scheer had David Menzies arrested.
00:07:56.860
What exactly happened? Why are you in handcuffs?
00:08:00.140
Well, I was trying to get Andrew Scheer to answer a question, some questions, such as if he's elected, will he end this media bailout?
00:08:11.760
What are his, you know, why are we not allowed into a press conference?
00:08:22.100
These are, I think, we're owed an answer to this, especially when we're escorted out.
00:08:30.660
I think the lowest point in some ways was when the media party, in collusion with Trudeau's handpicked debates commission,
00:08:37.240
told us, the rebel, we weren't welcome to attend the leaders' debates, but three reporters from Al Jazeera were.
00:08:43.980
As you know, we went to court along with True North, that's Candace Malcolm and Andrew Lawton,
00:08:48.080
and actually got the federal court to issue an emergency injunction, forcing the media party to let us in.
00:08:53.640
And if you can believe us, here's the journalists who were let in.
00:09:02.660
By the way, once we were finally allowed in, we put more questions to Justin Trudeau than any other media party company,
00:09:12.680
Let me show you some of the questions that Kian asked.
00:09:17.260
I'll skip Trudeau's answers because he didn't answer anything.
00:09:22.040
David was in there, David Menzies and Kian Bexley.
00:09:28.000
Since your multiple use of blackface became an international scandal,
00:09:32.340
Canada's international reputation has been irreparably harmed.
00:09:36.960
Have you reached out to any African leaders or any leaders from the Middle East to apologize for your conduct?
00:09:44.200
Have you spoken to any African leaders or leaders from the Middle East to apologize for your personal conduct?
00:09:50.240
Kian RNN, have you, your campaign, or any other agents secured non-disclosure agreements from anyone about inappropriate sexual personal conduct?
00:09:59.980
The 2001 yearbook from West Point Grey Academy says that you and convicted sex offender Christopher Ingvoldson made a young student's, quote,
00:10:08.300
life at WPGA a lot more interesting slash amusing, end quote.
00:10:16.160
Mr. Prime Minister, you left the West Point Grey Academy in the middle of a term which is highly unusual.
00:10:21.960
It was a law firm that made this announcement, which is also highly unusual.
00:10:28.660
Sir, can you tell us the real reason why you left so abruptly and did it involve any kind of sexual misconduct at the school?
00:10:37.960
Even so, Mr. Prime Minister, a follow-up question.
00:10:39.960
Why did so many teenage girls write so passionately about you in the yearbook?
00:10:46.600
Was there any connection to having a relationship with these girls or their mothers?
00:10:53.800
We had some other great or terrible moments with the rest of the media.
00:10:57.480
Remember when Kian butted heads with that CTV reporter in Ottawa?
00:11:01.020
What is your message to those like this gentleman here and people who will never listen to what you're saying today?
00:11:07.080
When you hear the President of the United States say what he said recently about why are they going after plastic straws?
00:11:12.040
How difficult is it to combat the muddying of the waters when you have people advocating?
00:11:16.720
When I speak to Conservative supporters, or at least those who claim to be, they say the carbon tax has to go.
00:11:22.500
When you talk to constituents, what are they saying about the carbon tax?
00:11:25.380
Do they understand what the carbon tax is and who initially came up with it?
00:11:29.480
So residents of Ottawa Centre are supportive of our action on climate change, including a price on pollution.
00:11:39.680
Anyways, that wasn't the press scrum of Catherine McKenna.
00:11:43.320
That was a CTV hack applying for a job with a Liberal cabinet minister with such softballs.
00:11:50.260
The media was atrocious in this campaign, but I have to say, the parties on the right made it easy for them.
00:11:58.340
When Maxime Bernier left the Conservative Party to create the People's Party more than a year ago,
00:12:02.540
it took energy, conviction, people, and money out of the Conservatives.
00:12:06.500
Because Bernier should not have left, and Scheer should not have let things degenerate with him so much that he left.
00:12:11.720
I don't think the PPC will win anything more than Bernier's own seat tonight.
00:12:16.160
But what a shame that he wasn't in the big Conservative tent, fighting to make it more Conservative,
00:12:21.820
and giving the Conservative Party some energy, especially in Quebec, and boosting the true Conservative base.
00:12:31.960
He literally hired a liberal dirty trickster, Warren Kinsella, to smear Bernier and his supporters as racist.
00:12:42.320
To smear people as racist that you will know are not racist.
00:12:45.660
It's what's done to Scheer himself all the time by the CBC.
00:12:49.060
That's a new low for him to do it to fellow Conservatives.
00:12:54.660
Eric Bernier aggregated all of the polls in Canada.
00:13:04.200
He says there's a 13% chance of a Liberal majority tonight, 48% chance of a Liberal minority,
00:13:10.300
37% chance of a Conservative minority, and 2% chance of a Conservative majority.
00:13:14.340
Now, remember, you need 170 seats to win a majority in a 338-seat Parliament.
00:13:19.880
I think Bernier's estimates are pretty accurate based on his inputs.
00:13:23.660
If you look at all the polls, they seem to be converging, and he just sort of jammed them all together.
00:13:28.520
You can have your theories that people lie to pollsters, and I think they do, or that pollsters tweak things, and I think they do.
00:13:33.740
But if I had to predict, I'd predict a Liberal minority tonight.
00:13:38.660
I just don't think Andrew Scheer will pull it off.
00:13:41.700
The party has crumbled in Quebec to the benefit of the Bloc Québécois.
00:13:45.260
So much for Scheer pandering to the dairy lobby.
00:13:48.580
We'll see what voter turnout in the Toronto and Vancouver regions are like.
00:13:56.400
Look, people hate Trudeau, but they don't have a love for Scheer.
00:14:08.440
And he's given voters precious little of either.
00:14:10.860
Will Trudeau haters vote for Jagmeet Singh instead of Scheer?
00:14:17.440
I think most will vote strategically for Trudeau to block Scheer.
00:14:21.960
But look at this Singh video from a Vancouver event.
00:14:27.300
This is an ad that does not have a single word spoken by Singh.
00:14:37.460
But look, it's 100% the same vibe that Trudeau himself had in 2015 that he used to win.
00:14:42.700
I think Singh might be able to siphon off a few percent of Millennials and Generation Z.
00:14:48.980
Especially minorities and women who were disappointed in Trudeau.
00:15:12.700
Look how the sun now raising up, and the clouds now waking up.
00:15:17.200
The atmosphere half-wise, and nothing can break it up.
00:15:40.060
If you're ready for the road, let your friend them know.
00:15:57.940
Now, if we were voting for a dance party tonight, I would vote for Jagmeet Singh.
00:16:06.300
But in his own way, I know it sounds odd to say, but I think he's a bit of a bigot.
00:16:13.540
So just to be clear, you would not respect a, you know, if Andrew Scheer wins the most seats,
00:16:25.240
Yeah, well, about 35% or 40% of the country is conservative.
00:16:34.800
And of course, in some pockets of the country, it's like 80%.
00:16:37.440
But Jagmeet Singh doesn't think they even deserve his respect, even his fellow citizens.
00:16:42.900
He refused to answer Kian's question about pipelines for that reason.
00:16:49.020
Hi, Elizabeth May told me earlier today, and I think she spoke in the other debate recently,
00:16:54.940
that she wants the Alberta oil sands offline in a decade.
00:16:58.860
What's the date that you want the Alberta oil sands offline?
00:17:08.980
Or you're just going to pass on the question for...
00:17:12.540
No, I'm just not going to answer your question.
00:17:13.520
Okay, so the follow-up, I guess, would be, how do you have the moral authority to take
00:17:18.380
the Alberta oil sands offline, given Alberta most just recently rejected your party in
00:17:23.660
the largest democratic mandate that the province has ever seen?
00:17:27.000
I'm not going to answer your question, but thanks.
00:17:31.740
That is a barb at anyone from Alberta, anyone from the oil patch, anyone who disagrees with
00:17:37.040
That's not someone who wants to be a leader for the whole country.
00:17:40.940
Singh didn't even bother to visit Calgary at all in the whole campaign.
00:17:43.520
And Trudeau only stopped by for a few minutes at midnight the other day.
00:17:47.640
They both hate Alberta, Singh and Trudeau, and they both campaigned against Alberta.
00:17:51.700
Actually, all the parties did, except the PPC and the CPC.
00:17:58.520
A liberal minority propped up by any combination of those other small parties on the left.
00:18:07.120
They would stoke Alberta separatism in a way never seen before, not even under Pierre Trudeau's
00:18:14.880
I think a better conservative leader could have capitalized on the SNC-Lavalin scandal,
00:18:20.100
the blackface scandal, Trudeau's own deep unpopularity as a man.
00:18:26.940
Fewer than 35% of Canadians actually approve of Trudeau.
00:18:30.660
He's considered a fake, an imposter, a liar, a groper, a fake feminist.
00:18:36.840
How could you have all that plus the foreign policy disasters, plus the economic disasters,
00:18:51.140
Join us for our live show starting at 9 p.m. Eastern tonight on our YouTube channel or on
00:18:57.980
Either way, I think we've got our work cut out for us in the months ahead.
00:19:04.100
Instead, let me invite you to watch our YouTube live stream, which is extra fun because you
00:19:09.760
can chat with us live, right from your computer, right on YouTube.
00:19:16.960
Until tomorrow, on behalf of all of us here at Rebel Headquarters in Toronto, and Sheila,
00:19:23.740
who will be joining us from Regina, and David, who will be joining us from the Bose, to you
00:19:28.820
at home, good night, and keep fighting for freedom.
