Welcome to Rebel Roundup, ladies and gentlemen, and the rest of you, in which we look back at
00:00:19.920
some of the very best commentaries of the week by your favorite rebels. I'm your host, David
00:00:25.000
Menzies. Wendy Kirkland of Woodstock, New Brunswick, is medically exempt from following her town's
00:00:32.100
mask bylaw, so it was kind of strange that when Wendy went shopping without a mask, she was actually
00:00:39.760
tackled by two police officers who apparently deemed her to be the modern-day version of Typhoid
00:00:46.960
Mary. Unbelievable. Sheila Gunn-Reed has all the shocking details. Speaking of embarrassing law
00:00:53.520
enforcement, Tamara Ugolini will weigh in on the latest from her small town of Coburg, Ontario.
00:00:59.940
You see, the Coburg cops are apparently completely stressed out, man. Evidently, tasering law-abiding
00:01:07.380
citizens and guarding the beach is causing the police a degree of emotional grief. Oh, poor babies.
00:01:15.740
And letters, we get your letters. We get them every minute of every day, and you had plenty to say
00:01:20.380
regarding my interaction with a couple of Elmer, Ontario police officers who really did resemble
00:01:26.760
a pair of Keystone cops rather than professional law enforcement personnel. You see, these cops
00:01:33.240
threatened to arrest me for the egregious crime of asking insensitive questions to transgender
00:01:41.720
demonstrators who were staging an anti-church protest in a public place. I swear, folks,
00:01:49.020
I'm not making this up. Those are your revels. Now, let's round them up.
00:01:59.820
My doctor has that, and I don't need to provide that to you or anybody else. It's between me and
00:02:03.280
my doctor. Okay, well, and that's the law. That's the law. Okay, well, at this point, you're not able
00:02:09.380
to come into any stores without a mask. Well, I've been going in stores, no problem, except for this one
00:02:14.520
without a mask. Due to COVID restrictions, it's mandatory. You have to wear a mask. Okay? That's
00:02:20.740
bottom of my mind. I know. That's not legislative law. You show me the legislative law that requires...
00:02:26.220
No, it's not. No, it's not. It's actually $292.50.
00:02:30.500
Well, you can go ahead and give me the fine, but it won't make any difference whatsoever.
00:02:35.280
So they said, okay, we want you to leave. So I turned around and I started to walk away.
00:02:40.460
They asked me for identification. And I said, I didn't break any laws. I don't need to provide
00:02:45.920
you with anything. And as I was walking out the door, he continued, Cahill, the officer Cahill,
00:02:52.440
continued to ask me for my identification. I said, no, I don't have it. And as I started across the street,
00:02:59.480
he grabbed me by my shoulder and kind of, you know, tried to pull me around. And I, you know,
00:03:06.820
pulled myself away from him. And then both of them grabbed me and tackled me to the ground.
00:03:19.860
Now, Wendy, who is completely medically mask exempt, was tackled by police for the crime of not wearing
00:03:28.800
a mask at the local heart store. The whole thing is madness, but it gets even worse because Wendy
00:03:34.740
then ended up being criminally charged with obstruction. Her story is infuriating and sad
00:03:41.300
all at once. First, because it should never have happened to her at all. But it's also an example
00:03:47.480
of just how far society has fallen away from common human decency during this pandemic.
00:03:56.080
Law enforcement excellence. First question, why weren't police officers respecting Wendy Kirkland's
00:04:05.020
medical mask exemption? Second question, how did two male police officers think it was completely
00:04:12.380
appropriate to tackle a woman who was completely innocent? Absolutely outrageous. And joining me now
00:04:21.140
regarding the latest egregious example of cops going postal for no good reason whatsoever is Sheila
00:04:29.880
Gunn-Reed. So, Sheila, before we get into the nitty gritty pertaining to Wendy's case, we try to back the blue
00:04:37.740
here at Rebel. We really do. But you see this kind of garbage happening all over the country and it's not
00:04:44.740
policing. That's a couple of pathetic bullies brandishing badges. What were your thoughts when
00:04:53.100
you originally viewed that disturbing footage? You know, I think my thoughts were the same as
00:04:58.820
everybody else's because the reason we, I guess we found Wendy is because the images of her being
00:05:10.400
flattened outside of that heart store by a couple of cops went viral. People were outraged early on in
00:05:19.520
the pandemic to see how Wendy was treated. And so we sort of tracked her down and offered her some help.
00:05:29.280
She didn't just receive a lockdown fine. What the cops did to her is one step more. She received an
00:05:37.520
obstruction criminal charge. And so she ended up in some pretty serious hot water. And so we said,
00:05:44.600
we got to help this lady. I mean, she is just someone who's trying to go to the store while
00:05:51.760
medically mask exempt. And what turned into what started as like a routine trip to the grocery store
00:05:58.920
is something that would have happened no problem in the before times. Now, Wendy is face down on the
00:06:05.200
concrete, um, with a couple of cops on her back. And it was the same outrage that I think we saw at
00:06:14.400
Rebel News. When we saw those images, a lot of people from Wendy's community felt the same way.
00:06:19.760
You know, Sheila, um, I know hindsight is 2020, but if I had been in Wendy's shoes and I had a medical
00:06:27.580
mask exemption, I'll tell you what I would have done. I would have put out a call on my cell phone to
00:06:33.800
bylaw and get the bylaw enforcement to come into the store and educate those police officers that
00:06:40.920
right there in writing on the bylaw is an exemption for people that have a medical, uh, mask issue.
00:06:50.220
Uh, what I'm saying is that the police were breaking the law here, at least the bylaw, uh, not the other
00:06:58.400
way around. Um, I wonder how that would have played out because these are officers that are to me,
00:07:04.420
they're completely ignorant of what it actually says in writing on those bylaw signs.
00:07:10.300
Well, and we don't, it's none of our business. Why Wendy is medically exempt? Is it an anxiety
00:07:18.520
issue? Is she extremely claustrophobic the way I am? Uh, does she have respiratory issues?
00:07:25.720
It's literally nobody's business. It's not the cop's business. And it's certainly not some stranger
00:07:31.100
in a grocery store. You should not have to go through this idea that you have to produce your
00:07:37.440
papers to total strangers so that you can run into a store and buy milk. But that's the reality
00:07:42.980
right now for people who are medically exempt from wearing a mask. That's how they have to go through
00:07:50.580
life. Now, everything they do is constant judgment and confrontation. And I think that's one of the
00:07:57.900
worst parts of this pandemic is that people with these unseen disabilities are all of a sudden forced
00:08:04.900
to explain their medical histories to total strangers, or they could be arrested or physically
00:08:11.580
attacked or shamed. 18 months ago, we realized that there were such things as unseen disabilities.
00:08:19.840
We realized it. But since the pandemic, all that human kindness has just sort of gone out the
00:08:28.500
window, and it's been replaced by fear. And that fear is driving people to treat people like Wendy
00:08:35.520
like absolute garbage. And Sheila, that's another important point you bring up. I mean, we've had our
00:08:41.460
lawyers go through hundreds of municipalities looking at their bylaw policy when
00:08:50.120
it comes to mask exemptions. And I might be wrong, but I don't think I am. I don't think we've come across one
00:08:59.280
single bylaw signage or bylaw regulation that says you with the mask exemption upon request must produce your
00:09:09.000
doctor's letter. It's quite the contrary. You do not have to prove your medical mask exemption. So again,
00:09:17.500
when these police were asking those personal questions, it was none of their damn business. And it says so
00:09:26.280
Well, David, I've got some unfortunate news for you here in Alberta. We, the government has just
00:09:31.700
introduced a regulation because these things don't go before the legislature that says that if you are
00:09:40.000
medically mask exempt, you may be required to produce a doctor's note to prove it. And so now all these people
00:09:49.360
who are already medically mask exempt have to go through this extra layer of now going and getting a note so that
00:09:57.640
you can show some total stranger that you have a medical exemption, be it from anxiety or PTSD or claustrophobia or
00:10:09.420
whatever. You have to show that to a stranger now if they ask you for it.
00:10:15.840
Geez, why am I not surprised that under Premier Kenny's stewardship, this is something that's been brought into what was
00:10:23.920
once the, I think the most free province in our entire Dominion. But you know, Sheila, another thing
00:10:30.040
you touched upon, and I totally agree, we have seen in this pandemic, the very worst being brought
00:10:38.180
out of some people. And I call them, my name for them is the COVID Karens. And they're not all females,
00:10:44.640
of course. I call the guys COVID Karens too. I guess they have to put their pronoun, they identify with
00:10:52.380
he, him in parentheses. But what I'm getting at is one of the most surreal stories I think we did
00:11:01.000
on this medical mask exemption by law is a home hardware store in Toronto, where the customer who
00:11:10.760
was supporting the little guy, the little home hardware, less than a couple of kilometers away,
00:11:14.980
there's a giant Home Depot. But this guy who's a contractor wanted to help the little guy.
00:11:19.360
They took the merchandise out of his hands, they frog marched him outside. And when he pointed to the sign
00:11:27.400
that allows for exemptions for those under two and those with medical issues, a home hardware employee
00:11:35.260
went into the store, got some duct tape and covered up the exemption. I mean, thank goodness this guy
00:11:42.760
filmed this because I think something like that Gila is unbelievable. Yeah, no one, no one would believe
00:11:50.280
it, that people were so audacious as to just say like, oh, well, we're not going to follow this part
00:11:56.400
of the law. Let's just cover it up. No big deal. And legal. It's fine. But I think for me, the worst part
00:12:04.140
of the pandemic is the fact that these the people, the worst people in society and those people whose
00:12:12.300
humanity sort of is just hanging on by a thread, that the fact that they have to walk through the
00:12:16.780
world and show their face to people, that's the thing that used to prevent them from giving into
00:12:23.300
these horrible impulses to treat other people poorly. Well, now those people are wearing a mask
00:12:28.880
and those people are emboldened by the constant, you know, fear mongering that COVID is going to kill
00:12:37.520
everybody if you don't take control of the situation. Those people out there are running amok.
00:12:46.760
They're the people scolding you in a grocery store because your mask slipped down underneath your
00:12:52.120
nose. Meanwhile, they touch all the Kraft dinner with their bare hands that I don't know have been and
00:12:57.040
I don't know where they've been. I don't know if they washed their hands yet that day, but they're
00:13:01.240
wearing a mask. So they're better than you. And before they never had, they had to show their faces
00:13:07.440
and that acted as the gut check. Now they do it from behind a mask and they are really emboldened.
00:13:14.720
No, 100%, Sheila. It's so sad. And to your point, I'll say this. I can take admonishment and
00:13:23.380
insults from people in a supermarket for improper mask wearing or maybe going up the wrong way of the aisle
00:13:31.280
according to the one-way directional arrow. But what disturbs me is what happened to Wendy. When you have
00:13:37.140
members of law enforcement with lethal force tackling you to the ground, this is clearly not a woman to
00:13:44.900
borrow that Bruce Springsteen line. She wasn't going down to the bar wearing trouble on her shirt.
00:13:50.260
That is what really disturbs and infuriates me. We've only got 30 seconds. What are your thoughts
00:13:59.640
of what's going to happen when this gets to court, Sheila?
00:14:03.580
Well, we've got great lawyers working very hard for Wendy and she's going to need them because again,
00:14:11.220
she's up against the full force of the government. She's up against the cops, but it should not be
00:14:16.960
illegal to get groceries when you're medically mask exempt. You should not end up with a criminal
00:14:23.640
charge because you can't wear a mask face down on the concrete with two cops on your back. So we're
00:14:28.900
going to do everything we can to help Wendy. We're already working hard to do that story. It took months
00:14:34.040
and months and months of work just to get everybody to see that one little piece of video that you did
00:14:38.920
see. And we've been working very hard in the background. And if people want to support
00:14:42.660
Wendy in her very expensive battle to have this criminal charge thrown out of court, because as
00:14:51.720
we all know, a criminal charge can really ruin your life. It'll limit your ability to travel,
00:14:55.940
your ability to get jobs. You can't be a foster parent. There's a lot of things that this can
00:15:00.620
take away from Wendy if she is found guilty of this criminal charge. So we're working very hard
00:15:05.580
to help her. And if people want to help Wendy and the roughly 1,200 other people, businesses, pastors
00:15:11.500
that we're helping fight their lockdown tickets, and in some instances, criminal charges in court at
00:15:16.960
no cost to them, they can donate at fightthefines.com. And all the donations there now qualify for a
00:15:23.460
charitable tax receipt through the Democracy Fund. Fantastic. Well, Sheila, a terrific report as
00:15:29.420
always from you. You have a wonderful weekend. And hopefully, Wendy will get justice when her court
00:15:34.880
case comes to fruition. Thanks, David. I hope so. All right. And that was Sheila Gunn-Reed somewhere
00:15:41.380
in the hinterland of northern Alberta. Keep it here, folks. More of Rebel Roundup to come right after this.
00:15:52.440
For Rebel News, I'm Tamara Ugolini here in downtown Coburg. Once again, what was coined in the
00:15:59.400
before times as the feel-good town is now more reminiscent of a fenced-off town. For the second
00:16:06.580
summer in a row, Coburg Town Council has voted to fence off the Victoria Park Beach. That's a huge
00:16:14.000
public space. And as opposed to last year where the vote was unanimous, this year it was a divided vote
00:16:20.580
where the mayor interjected and subsequently the beach was closed. But some of you may remember some
00:16:26.300
of the protests that Rebel News, specifically David Menzies and I, covered here in Coburg last
00:16:32.100
summer 2020. Have a look. Town Council has decided in its wisdom to fight the Wuhan virus by closing the
00:16:40.360
beach until August 31st. And I think in Canada that means the entire summer. It's not California. You can't
00:16:47.480
come here to the beach in November. So all the activities, all the water sports, Coburg's famous
00:16:53.920
sandcastle competition, that's all wiped out. Well, you know what? As the saying goes from Twisted
00:16:59.780
Sister, they're not going to take it anymore. A bunch of people in Coburg are assembling at Victoria
00:17:06.020
Hall. Now, in addition to the closure of the beach once again, there has been a heavy police presence
00:17:13.900
in Coburg downtown on Saturdays. Not only for the protesters here, but there's a farmer's market
00:17:19.760
just a block south. And of course, the beach is just a few blocks southeast of this location.
00:17:26.080
And I did a quick drive around, saw a heavy police presence. I will quote Police Chief Vandegraaff
00:17:32.020
in Northumberland News article, where he is quoted as saying that the extra hands on deck for the law
00:17:39.160
enforcement have cost taxpayers in excess of $8,000 a weekend. Is that to say just Saturdays? Or does
00:17:47.460
that span the whole Saturday, Sunday? And for a long weekend, does that include the holiday Monday
00:17:52.180
as well? That seems like an outrageous amount. I know that a few of these protesters have racked up
00:17:57.520
some serious fine amounts. So I'm going to head in and see what they have to say. But also in the same
00:18:05.180
article, Police Chief Vandegraaff noted that this is taking an emotional toll on his officers. And some
00:18:12.040
of you may recall a few months ago when I reported on a local gentleman who was tasered twice by a
00:18:18.500
police officer for alleged mask non-compliance. Now, the situation escalated pretty severely. And just
00:18:25.540
days later, another gentleman was tasered again for mask non-compliance by the same officer. So what is
00:18:34.100
going on with the Colbrook Police Service? Are their police emotionally unavailable? Do they need
00:18:40.860
some emotional training maybe? Do the police not want to be here and being forced on an order to
00:18:48.860
attend a protest of people who have the constitutional right to do so? Does that negatively affect the
00:18:55.180
mental health of these police? Well, there you have it, folks. It appears that trampling on the rights
00:19:01.120
of citizens who are protesting, including with the use of tasers, is causing some stress for the rank
00:19:09.180
and file of the Colbrook Police Service. Such a tough job, isn't it? I mean, preventing people from
00:19:16.000
going to the beach, ticketing people for displaying anti-lockdown signs. Wow, it's just hell out there
00:19:24.160
on the streets and on the sand dunes of Colbrook these days. And joining me now with more on this
00:19:31.180
Ontario town that is apparently resembling the mean streets of Camden, New Jersey, is our Colbrook
00:19:38.040
reporter herself, Tamara Ugolini. How you doing there, Tamara? Hey, David. I'm well, thanks. How are you?
00:19:44.280
Oh, I'm doing great. You know, Tamara, I couldn't help but notice in your video that Colbrook Police
00:19:49.980
Chief Paul Vandegaf proudly notes on his profile that his preferred pronouns are he and him. Just in
00:19:59.320
case anyone thinks that a dude called Paul who sports a full beard is a she-her or a zezer or a
00:20:08.080
non-binary asexual spirit unicorn. But the thing is, are these Colbrook cops really stressed out? Or are
00:20:16.980
the police in your town just such a bunch of soy boys? That's a great question, David. And
00:20:23.980
unfortunately, apparently, I need to speak out to or reach out to the media contact to get any sort
00:20:29.880
of comment from the police here in Colbrook. So it's it just it kind of speaks for itself. I think
00:20:37.460
noting the Twitter biography and the way that they react, I think all across the province and Canada
00:20:46.740
as a larger spectrum, you know, the the state of policing is it's concerning.
00:20:53.740
Yeah. And Tamara, I mean, when we play when they, you know, play the stress card and, you know,
00:20:59.480
we're suffering, I don't know, some kind of light form of PTSD. I've been to your lovely town.
00:21:04.740
I've met these people that are protesting against the lockdowns. They aren't Antifa. They aren't
00:21:12.480
throwing Molotov cocktails and rocks. They're very polite. They're well spoken. The idea of them using
00:21:19.740
violence against anyone, including law enforcement is unthinkable. I'm thinking if the cops have trouble
00:21:26.400
dealing with citizens like that, how do they deal with the really bad guys?
00:21:32.480
Well, and even here in Colbrook, when we saw the two different gentlemen,
00:21:37.580
elderlies gentlemen who were tasered for alleged mask noncompliance within days of one another.
00:21:43.920
I mean, it begs to question what kind of training the police are receiving in terms of de-escalation
00:21:49.960
techniques. Is there some sort of issue within the force that caught is causing there to be
00:21:57.020
emotional unrest? There's there's a lot more questions than there are answers. So,
00:22:03.400
you know, maybe I will reach out to that media contact and get some clarification on what exactly
00:22:07.580
is happening with the Coburg police. And just on that note, if if they weren't wearing such dark
00:22:13.020
colored glasses, I might have said, like, blink twice if you're in danger or, you know, if you don't
00:22:18.160
want to be here, blink twice, because how the emotional toll on officers, I mean, isn't that part of
00:22:25.940
the job? But maybe when they don't want to do the job that they're being summoned to do,
00:22:30.320
that's where we start to get a bit of the disconnect happening.
00:22:34.220
You know, Tamara, please bring us up to remind us rather about what those tasering incidents were
00:22:40.940
about. I mean, that was incredibly disturbing to me. I mean, a taser is the last step you use before
00:22:47.240
you bring out an actual gun with real bullets and fire away. These weren't armed people. These
00:22:54.260
weren't violent people, if I recall. What was what was the deal there where people were getting shot by a
00:23:00.000
taser? Well, I only have the original account of the one gentleman. Unfortunately, I wasn't able
00:23:05.940
to connect with the other gentleman that this happened to. But from my understanding, and that
00:23:11.180
story that I covered, gee, I guess, four or five months ago now, he was in a seated position,
00:23:19.220
just saying to police, you know, why are you here? What are you enforcing? I have he had a bandana up
00:23:25.820
covering his mouth. And I guess it slipped down under his nose while he was working out. Anyway,
00:23:31.700
lots of gray area here in terms of the enforcement, but he was seeking some clarification. And then
00:23:36.440
one thing led to another. And next thing he knew, the police were on top of him and he was being
00:23:41.460
tasered. And we show in the report as well, he provided photos, you know, it was very close
00:23:47.840
to his heart. And at that time, I had actually reached out to the local enforcement here and
00:23:55.340
asked specifically what kind of training the officers receive for the use of tasers. And
00:24:01.920
whether or not there had been other complaints about this officer, I'd have to go back in my
00:24:06.660
emails and find exactly. But, you know, just getting the gist of why and how this situation escalated
00:24:12.460
to the point of this gentleman being tasered. And unfortunately, we never received a response.
00:24:18.740
Wow. So, so much for that garbage, reach out to communications. That works in theory. But when
00:24:24.900
the communications people don't communicate, which is more and more par for the course these days,
00:24:29.720
I got to tell you, Tamara, I think maybe the strategy is if I don't give a response,
00:24:34.260
the story will go away. No, it doesn't go away. We just say we reached out for comment
00:24:38.180
and you were essentially too cowardly to provide it. One last thing I see to my dismay,
00:24:45.080
your beautiful beach in Coburg is once again, going to resemble an internment camp. They've got,
00:24:51.940
they're going to be putting up the, the fencing. You can't swim. I guess it'll be that your famous
00:24:58.200
sandcastle competition is off the, off the boards. Now, tell me, I don't get it, Tamara, because this is an
00:25:07.680
outdoor beach, of course. We know from Dr. Martha Fulford, who is an expert among experts in
00:25:19.360
virology. She works at the McMaster University in Hamilton, and she was one of the experts quoted in
00:25:26.400
the Roman Baber application a couple of weeks ago, that the chances of outdoor transmission
00:25:34.040
is virtually zero, right? And this is based on Dr. Fulford going through more than 100,000 medical
00:25:44.340
papers penned since the pandemic took off when it came to COVID-19. Why, if we're being told the
00:25:52.780
science is driving all these decisions, why is it that when you look to an expert like that, who again,
00:25:59.380
is described as an expert among experts, why are they ignored? And I don't know, out of fear,
00:26:06.560
out of superstition, out of a want for tyrannical control, the beach is closed off when there's
00:26:13.540
no tangible danger whatsoever. Well, and just to backtrack a little bit, actually, just after the
00:26:20.440
Ford government announced that they were opening the outdoor amenities, I guess, town council
00:26:24.660
vote or motioned to hold an emergency meeting. So they have actually now, just as of, I believe,
00:26:32.500
yesterday, reopened the beach, but for weekday access only. So it will, I guess the fencing will
00:26:40.720
stay up. I'm not really sure the logistics behind the decision. But, you know, the outdoor viral spread
00:26:47.080
is a great question. And it's something I have actually started just forwarding my emails now
00:26:51.700
that I started, before I was a rebel, I was advocating here locally, especially as it pertained
00:26:57.320
to the rate of asymptomatic transmission and the rate of outdoor viral transmission. And I was looking
00:27:04.180
for data or evidence that supported that that actually existed. So going back a year now, I just
00:27:10.200
am literally forwarding my messages that remain, my questions that remain unanswered from this time
00:27:15.460
last year to town council. So, you know, it's been a year. I've asked numerous health units. I've asked
00:27:22.500
our local elected officials. I've asked my MPP. I've reached out to Health Canada, anyone and everyone
00:27:28.880
who is a contact that should be accountable, that should have this information I've reached out to
00:27:34.220
personally, asking for clarification, and I never get a response. So that's the really frustrating
00:27:41.360
thing here. And I'm really glad that more experts are starting to feel like it's more socially and
00:27:46.900
politically acceptable to come out and voice their opinion. Because this clearly isn't going away
00:27:52.980
anytime soon, if we rely on the Ontario fiction, science fiction table, versus actual experts who have,
00:28:03.680
And Sheila, sorry, Tamara, it's not only shameful, it is unprofessional of those people not to get back
00:28:13.560
in touch with you, because that's part of their job. And you're even being told on camera by cops,
00:28:19.260
reach out to communications. Again, they don't communicate. Before we wrap, I just want to make
00:28:23.180
sure I heard this correctly. You can go to the Coburg Beach on weekdays, but not weekends. The Wuhan
00:28:30.480
virus has a little calendar, it circles the weekends, as a no-go zone. What's the science behind that?
00:28:39.280
Yeah, exactly. And it begs the question, you know, when do we start to say, is this really about a virus?
00:28:45.620
You know, and even just this morning, kind of a little bit off topic, but I was at Walmart, and I can buy
00:28:51.300
non-essential, I can't buy non-essential sun hat for my infant in this, you know, sunny weather.
00:28:57.680
But I can purchase essential houseplants. So, you know, it just, none of it makes sense.
00:29:05.140
We need to bring in those experts, like who you quoted, who can bring some more rationale and
00:29:10.520
reasoning to the Ontario science fiction table, because this is just ridiculous.
00:29:15.740
Well, Tamara, speaking of Walmart, I got to tell you, one of the funniest photos,
00:29:19.860
and a perversely amusing point of view that was sent to me, was a Walmart,
00:29:24.120
where, as part of the non-essential items roped off, were masks, yet I need to wear a mask to get
00:29:33.560
into the Walmart. It doesn't make sense, my friend, but great video. Great to see you back out in the
00:29:40.940
field, Tamara, and you have a wonderful weekend, my friend.
00:29:45.860
You got it. And that was Tamara Ugolini in Coburg, Ontario. Keep it here, folks.
00:29:50.960
More of Rebel Roundup to come, right after this.
00:30:00.400
Just mind leaving them alone, okay? They don't want you talking to them, so can you just move on?
00:30:06.940
Well, no, wait a second. I'm sorry. No, no. I'm sorry. No, no.
00:30:12.480
Yeah, they're in a public place, officer, so I will talk to them.
00:30:15.620
Please move out of the way. I'm losing my patience.
00:30:20.600
I'm standing in the roadway. I don't want to get hit by a car, so please move.
00:30:24.500
Come over here, officer. What is the crime I'm committing right now?
00:30:34.000
I'm in an awful order to leave these people alone. You're telling me you're not going to,
00:30:36.620
so if you don't follow my directions, get your microphone out of my face.
00:30:45.600
As far as I know, the practice of journalism is not illegal yet,
00:30:49.100
so unless I'm mistaken, you can write me up for a ticket.
00:30:51.920
This is what's going to happen, okay, Mr. Menzies.
00:30:53.040
You're going to leave this area. I've asked you not to harass these people.
00:30:56.180
If you come back and you speak with them, you will be arrested for harassment.
00:31:00.520
You have no right whatsoever to make me leave this area.
00:31:08.120
They've asked you to not speak with them and not to bother them.
00:31:18.640
In the course of my duty is to inform you that you are not to harass people.
00:31:23.960
Okay, then you're going to write me a ticket for harassment.
00:31:26.620
I didn't say that. I'm going to write you a ticket.
00:31:29.360
Leave these people alone, or you're going to get arrested for criminal harassment.
00:31:32.060
I know you don't believe in freedom of the press.
00:31:36.600
Then you will be arrested if you approach these people.
00:31:38.900
Arrested for talking. Is that what we're into now?
00:31:44.360
If they don't want to be spoken to, yes, absolutely.
00:31:46.800
Really? Can I see the criminal code violation that spells that out?
00:31:49.740
Yeah. Anybody has a right to not be harassed, okay?
00:31:53.220
If you can move away from me, please get the microphone out of my face, okay?
00:31:59.180
Anybody that doesn't want to be harassed, okay?
00:32:05.760
It's kind of like, I don't know, talking to a Coke machine when you put the loonie in and the soda doesn't come out.
00:32:11.020
They're turning into automated vending machines right now.
00:32:24.280
Usually, people that are doing a protest or a counter-protest want publicity.
00:32:28.620
But evidently, asking questions, according to these two fine members of the Elmer Police Service, that is verboten.
00:32:38.400
Well, that was the scene earlier this month in Elmer, Ontario, just across the street from the Church of God.
00:32:44.640
Even though the church had its locks changed, forcing services to occur outdoors,
00:32:50.740
there was a very small protest by the Elmer trans community, which seems to number, oh, two people.
00:32:57.900
Prior to the cops arriving, I attempted to interview the transgender protesters to little avail.
00:33:05.480
I had wrapped the interview and was speaking to some Rebel News supporters
00:33:09.200
when those two Keystone cops arrived to tell me to stop asking impolite questions on public land.
00:33:19.760
In any event, you had plenty to say about this most recent law enforcement fiasco.
00:33:41.460
The trans community is increasingly vocal about acceptance and tolerance.
00:33:47.740
And yet, where is their acceptance and tolerance of, say, Christians who simply want to worship?
00:33:54.120
Well, apparently, tolerance and acceptance, they are not a two-way street.
00:34:03.740
Cops are supporting left who want them dead or banned.
00:34:10.680
Yes, Uday, and the irony is perverse, isn't it?
00:34:14.020
I'd bet you a donut that those lefty protesters for sure support the idea of police being defunded.
00:34:21.520
But when they are asked insensitive questions, they pick up the phone and dial 911.
00:34:28.480
Suddenly, the police are useful when they believe a thought crime is being committed against them.
00:34:35.560
And those two bozos with badges are all too happy to be at their beck and call.
00:34:44.980
It's funny how cops don't go after mainstream media.
00:34:49.700
They are pretty much on the same team with the mainstream media being increasingly funded by the government.
00:34:56.620
They are essentially the propaganda arm of the government while the police serve as the government's muscle.
00:35:03.360
And while diversity is championed, a diversity of opinion regarding an increasing number of issues is now strictly verboten.
00:35:17.400
I'm standing in the roadway and I don't want to get hit by a car.
00:35:27.160
And somehow someone thought it was a good idea to allow this person to have access to lethal force?
00:35:33.740
You know, we do try to back the blue here at Rebel News, but cops like those two, well, it makes it increasingly hard to do so.
00:35:46.740
They believe in the science of lockdowns, but rather than stay home, they come out to harass Christians.
00:35:54.380
They want the police defunded while begging police to protect them from a journalist's question.
00:36:05.760
Yes, Lao, and it would appear that the joke is on us, the vast majority of Canadians who want to live their lives freely but are being prevented from doing so.
00:36:18.640
Wow, Florida is looking better and better every single day.
00:36:23.520
Well, that wraps up another edition of Rebel Roundup.
00:36:28.480
And hey, folks, never forget, without risk, there can be no glory.
