Summary
A judge grants a publication ban on a Canadian man accused of throwing human feces on five people in three separate incidents. Is he a Canadian citizen, or is he just passing through? And why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon consumer?

00:00:00.000
Tonight, does the public have the right to know what's going on in Canadian courts?
00:00:20.720
Well, thanks to publication bans being handed out like candy at Halloween,
00:00:31.340
I'm David Menzies filling in for Ezra Levent, and this is the Ezra Levent Show.
00:00:38.200
Why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon consumer I know?
00:00:42.020
There's 8,500 customers here, and you won't give them an answer.
00:00:46.100
The only thing I have to say to the government about why I publish it
00:00:51.960
Iqqar Mao of Guelph, Ontario was due to make an appearance in a Brampton courtroom this morning.
00:01:03.760
Now, if that name doesn't ring a bell, he's the genius who flew over to Turkey last July.
00:01:12.020
Why would anyone in their right mind visit Syria these days?
00:01:15.220
Oh, well, Iqqar Mao is allegedly one of those terrorism tourists you read about these days.
00:01:21.700
You know, the type who leaves a decadent Western nation in order to join ISIS
00:01:26.320
so that he could have a gay old time in the Middle East.
00:01:35.200
He was detained near the Syrian border and deported back to Canada in mid-October.
00:01:42.980
However, I didn't go to his court appearance this morning,
00:01:51.120
It's just that, yet again, a judge in his infinite wisdom
00:01:55.200
has granted a publication ban regarding details pertaining to this case.
00:02:00.520
And that would severely hamper what I could report to you.
00:02:04.900
And I have to say, folks, I'm getting really tired of those accused of committing
00:02:13.220
being consistently granted a media cloaking device.
00:02:17.740
Once upon a time, publication bans were relatively rare.
00:02:22.440
Today, judges are handing them out as freely as one does with candy on Halloween.
00:02:29.220
Indeed, the last four court cases I've covered,
00:02:33.420
there was a publication ban issued every single time.
00:02:40.960
who made a brief appearance on Tuesday in a Toronto court.
00:02:58.460
But for whatever reason, there is a publication ban on this case.
00:03:05.700
was gracious enough to conduct a media scrum outside the court.
00:03:08.880
But I think the only thing that was accomplished by that
00:03:15.020
Can you tell us anything about his background, perhaps?
00:03:22.320
but I can assure you that the case has nothing to do with immigration.
00:03:28.420
You know, I think that was a harmless query that I asked.
00:03:30.900
Is Mr. Opoku a Canadian or is he just someone passing through?
00:03:35.000
But the lawyer declined to answer that question.
00:03:39.400
How would his citizenship status affect Opoku in any way
00:03:50.000
just consider the case of Mohamed Mohamed of Toronto.
00:04:06.900
Some of the charges include 14 counts of sexual exploitation of a youth,
00:04:20.020
in terms of what Mr. Mohamed is alleged to have done.
00:04:30.720
And then there's the bizarre case of Talia Davidson.
00:04:41.060
during her visit to Toronto's Nathan Phillips Square.
00:05:18.020
Obviously one of those hateful right-wing white supremacists, right?
00:05:24.440
Davidson has a long documented history of being a leftist.
00:05:28.040
She was obviously pretending to be a sheer supporter to smear conservatives.
00:05:34.260
And yet, when she had her case heard in September,
00:05:41.300
That meant I had to seek answers outside the courtroom,
00:05:44.300
which is where I confronted Davidson and her lawyer.
00:05:47.260
Ms. Davidson, what was the agenda you had in doing that stunt last month?
00:05:51.060
Okay, it was the bursting of the liberal bubble.
00:06:01.720
Why won't you speak about your misneeds, Ms. Davidson?
00:06:14.380
No, there's a publication ban that was clearly made out of court.
00:06:23.640
That I was violating the publication ban simply by asking questions in a public space?
00:06:32.940
And let us not forget that esteemed gentleman, Jordan Hunt,
00:06:37.720
who had this curious little habit of physically assaulting women who are pro-life supporters.
00:06:44.200
Remember this debate Hunt had with Marie Claire Bissonette,
00:06:47.620
which ended with a despicable roundhouse kick to her torso.
00:06:52.620
If somebody gets raped by somebody and they're like,
00:07:06.820
If someone was raped and she gave birth and she decided to kill her three-year-old child.
00:07:18.500
But even this coward was granted a publication ban,
00:07:23.040
meaning that during the trial we had to resort to Plan B,
00:07:26.600
which was interviewing him outside the courthouse.
00:07:29.860
Jordan Hunt, do you have any words to say to Marie Claire Bissonette?
00:07:35.640
Well, not quite a roundhouse kick, but what kind of an assault was that?
00:07:48.120
Jordan, it doesn't seem that you're very tough when a man is asking you questions.
00:07:58.140
By the way, how come your hair isn't purple and you don't have a flower anymore there?
00:08:02.240
How come you have to use cameras like these to record?
00:08:05.480
How come you, did the budget end at like the cheap suit?
00:08:11.800
Well, you know, I mean, you're very touchy-feely,
00:08:14.300
but why is it that you like to assault women so much?
00:08:27.940
Yep, that's the sort of cat that the judges are protecting from the glare of publicity these days, folks.
00:08:34.180
My final example is perhaps the most outrageous and egregious one of all.
00:08:39.760
You see, initially, the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal granted Jonathan Yaniv
00:08:45.000
a publication ban regarding his numerous complaints against female estitians who rightfully refused to do a bikini wax on him
00:08:55.400
because Jonathan is a male who is pretending to be a female.
00:09:04.680
Oh, here's a clip of the poor victim Yaniv in action back in August when I attempted to interview him.
00:09:12.360
Why do you send sexually expressive messages to young girls?
00:09:22.740
As you can see, folks, in addition to pretending to be a woman, Jonathan also appears to be pretending to be disabled.
00:09:30.820
But here's the thing, as I mentioned previously, the BC Human Rights Tribunal actually initially granted a publication ban regarding the Yaniv case.
00:09:43.260
A human rights tribunal is not even a real court.
00:09:47.200
In fact, I'd call the BC Human Rights Tribunal a kangaroo court, except that I don't want to insult the marsupial community.
00:09:54.320
But I must add that in a perversely ironic twist, the BC Human Rights Tribunal itself actually revoked the publication ban.
00:10:05.940
Well, one individual out there continued to violate the ban.
00:10:12.280
Yep, the one and only, thank God, Jonathan Yaniv, the very person the publication ban was originally meant to protect.
00:10:22.820
In the final analysis, the issuance of publication bans is out of control in Canada.
00:10:29.920
Once there had to be exceptional circumstances for a publication ban to be granted.
00:10:35.360
Now it seems that a defence lawyer merely has to ask for a publication ban.
00:10:40.440
And a publication ban shall be granted, no questions asked.
00:10:45.180
This trend has to stop because the public really does have the right to know.
00:10:50.180
To bar the media from reporting the facts of a case, any case, makes a trial a secretive process.
00:10:58.220
To be effective, the justice system has to be open and transparent.
00:11:02.260
No reasonable person surely wants justice to be done via star chambers.
00:11:08.400
Especially given that, in my experience, so many of the people who are receiving protection via publication bans
00:11:23.000
Now folks, while our rebel commander Ezra Levent is away on assignment today,
00:11:27.400
he did pre-record an interview with Mark Moreno of Climate Depot.
00:11:45.980
Well, Greta Thunberg, or as she's more popularly known in the media,
00:11:51.700
Saint Greta has finally landed in Portugal after a bizarre journey by boat across the Atlantic during winter.
00:12:01.220
Never a wise idea, but the whole point was that Greta could say,
00:12:09.220
Now, fact is, the skipper and all the folks with the boat jetted to America
00:12:15.420
to let her sail across so she could remain pristine.
00:12:19.240
She came to America by boat on the first place,
00:12:22.020
thinking that the global warming conference by the United Nations would be held in Chile.
00:12:27.460
However, anti-carbon tax protests, yeah, that's right,
00:12:31.360
the protests were sparked by rises in the price of fuel and transit.
00:12:36.720
They caused Chile to abandon the global warming conference,
00:12:42.240
As you know, we will be sending two of our best to cover that UN conference,
00:12:48.820
And one person that we love talking to when we go to these global warming conferences,
00:12:53.340
he's our expert to deprogram us in case our people start to, you know,
00:12:58.440
fall victim to the global warming cult, is our friend Mark Moreno.
00:13:02.040
He's the boss of ClimateDepot.com, and he joins us now from the United States.
00:13:08.800
I'm heading over in two days, and I'll be there for the whole week next week,
00:13:14.060
dealing with the new, and it's new terminology, the Climate Emergency Conference in Madrid.
00:13:21.380
And if the government says it's an emergency, well, we'd better listen to them.
00:13:25.840
We're sending Kian and Sheila, I think they're heading out on Sunday,
00:13:33.940
We, as usual, are being kept out, but I find that we can do even better journalism
00:13:42.340
because we're not just being managed and spoon-fed press releases.
00:13:47.560
Sheila, especially being locked out, does great work outside of those conferences
00:13:52.060
because so much of the activity, first of all, there's a green zone, a blue zone,
00:13:56.540
all kinds of areas, and outside is where a lot of the NGOs are,
00:14:01.260
And you can also get world leaders coming and going.
00:14:05.140
These conferences, this one in particular, I expect it to be a heavy dose of anti-Trump activism,
00:14:14.100
and it's going to be looking forward to the 2020, because in the United States,
00:14:18.040
it's a 2020 referendum on the Green New Deal, the U.N.-Paris Agreement.
00:14:23.000
If Donald Trump loses, the U.S. is back in in a way that the Washington Post said
00:14:31.360
He's considered a conservative by the Washington Post because they are going to go so far beyond
00:14:36.700
what Obama did, particularly in climate and energy, any Democrat that wins,
00:14:44.440
So I expect the U.N. to be really ramping up the anti-Trump rhetoric.
00:14:48.780
Yeah. Well, I'm going to ask you about Greta Thunberg in a moment,
00:14:52.580
because you've got a fun story on Climate Depot about her I'd like to ask you about.
00:14:56.400
But I remember in 2016, the Global Warming Conference, that was right after Trump won.
00:15:06.100
Now, he had not yet been inaugurated, but it was like a funeral march there,
00:15:11.120
because everyone knew Trump had called it a scam, a hoax, a cash grab.
00:15:17.880
And Trump has actually served notice under the terms of the treaty that the United States
00:15:25.100
So it's now or never for the global warming set, if America absolutely leaves,
00:15:33.420
But with America not even participating, it becomes really pointless.
00:15:37.340
Trump's whole first term when it comes to the U.N., he's only announced the intention to withdraw.
00:15:42.520
It does not become official until after Election Day next November 2020.
00:15:47.760
So right now, this is the referendum coming up.
00:15:50.640
And I think a lot of these European leaders don't want to actually believe that the U.S.
00:15:57.720
They keep hoping at the last minute he'll look for some concession and come in.
00:16:04.880
And that's another four glorious years where we're not going to be part of this.
00:16:09.620
However, you know, the United Nations is still going to continue.
00:16:14.580
But I think it's going to be a lot harder without the United States in this.
00:16:18.640
And you could have a lot more defections, you know, leading the way with Brazil's Bolsonaro
00:16:23.260
and possibly other developing world countries if they're not getting their money.
00:16:29.000
By the way, Ezra, an interesting side note here.
00:16:32.380
They had a chart on all of the countries sending delegations to the U.N. summit.
00:16:37.140
Who do you think had the largest number of delegates per area?
00:16:46.600
The Democratic Republic of Congo leads the way.
00:16:55.060
These countries in Africa are the ones poised to get the $100 billion U.N. slush fund,
00:17:01.860
They're the ones that are going to get the money to keep their people poor,
00:17:07.300
So, of course, they're sending the most number of lobbyists, delegates, representatives to these conferences.
00:17:12.960
I was going to guess Canada because, of course, in 2015, Trudeau had just won.
00:17:21.600
So, literally, everyone in cold, chilly Canada wanted a wonderful week in the City of Lights.
00:17:28.560
Well, listen, my friend, I've got one last question for you.
00:17:33.480
And you show us all the interesting things because you've been doing this for a while.
00:17:39.280
There's a great article in the Daily Wire written by Ryan Saavedra.
00:17:48.680
About colonial, racist, and patriarchal systems of oppression.
00:18:00.620
Or, again, maybe she didn't say a word of this.
00:18:02.820
Maybe this was all drafted by her managers and her beauty pageant mom back in Sweden.
00:18:08.520
But she's just gone full Marxist here, hasn't she?
00:18:15.040
A trip like that could just sort of let down your inhibitions.
00:18:18.160
I mean, she's never said anything to this extent that I'm aware of.
00:18:21.480
But what this is, actually, it's an evolution of the climate movement.
00:18:24.640
I did an article about two months ago about how identity politics has overtaken the climate debate.
00:18:30.420
First of all, Greta's senior advisor is George Monbihan, the U.K. environmentalist, who said that we have to go straight to the heart of capitalism and overthrow it.
00:18:41.500
This is her sort of spiritual climate guru, if you will, aside from her parents.
00:18:48.040
And so it's not surprising she's gone down this route.
00:18:50.660
I was just sort of surprised that it came out of nowhere and now she's on record.
00:18:54.560
But this idea, the woke climate debate, if you will, it's been going on now for years and it's coalesced this year on every issue.
00:19:04.000
You have African scientists now blaming hurricanes and cyclones in Africa on white people, on the white man's science.
00:19:12.620
You have multiple instances of people basically saying that climate is now a racist thing where blacks and Hispanics are suffering, created by whites, the climate crisis.
00:19:26.540
You have Bill McKibben saying that white climate deniers are to blame for the crisis because we voted for politicians who are climate deniers.
00:19:36.440
So Greta is just following the lead of this movement and it really has become identity politics.
00:19:41.440
Old people are being blamed for global warming.
00:19:44.540
We had young kids on Capitol Hill here the day Greta was in New York in front of the Capitol saying that mom and dad trashed the planet, their generation.
00:19:55.780
Kind of sarcastically, it's turning young against old, black against white, Hispanics against white.
00:20:02.260
This is what they're trying to do is divide and conquer.
00:20:04.700
And Greta is now fully willing to embrace that what I call identity politic agenda.
00:20:11.760
Yeah, it's very weird for a daughter of privilege, a white millionaire from Sweden to be calling others racist or privileged.
00:20:24.380
Well, and I look forward to you connecting with Kian and Sheila in Madrid.
00:20:29.000
I think you guys, you on the information side, on the content side, and of course, Sheila and Kian are going to report the heck out of everything.
00:20:36.640
And you'll be their guide a bit as you have in the past.
00:20:40.120
Look forward to seeing your reports from over there.
00:20:45.420
Mark Morano, he's the boss of ClimateDepot.com, and I regard him as the foremost expert on global warming politics.
00:21:12.260
And as Ezra likes to say, keep fighting for freedom.
