Jussie Smollett looked like he was going to be doing some time in the slammer for that outrageous hoax he masterminded. But then all charges were dropped. Why? And why did the FBI get involved in the first place?
00:03:57.680So, Amanda, I thought James Woods really nailed it in a tweet when he said something along the lines
00:04:03.220that Smollett can now team up with O.J. to help him look for the real killer.
00:04:08.040So, Amanda, what in blue hell is the unspoken story regarding Tuesday's shocking announcement?
00:04:16.620Yeah, so I think we all woke up Tuesday morning kind of bewildered because this kind of came out of the blue.
00:04:21.880His next court appearance wasn't scheduled until the middle of next month.
00:04:26.260But this was an emergency hearing held after Smollett had apparently participated in 16 hours of community service.
00:04:35.720We don't actually have any proof that that happened.
00:04:38.060And he surrendered his $10,000 bond as though that's going to cover the cost of this investigation.
00:04:45.320But what has been uncovered since then is the fact that Kim Fox, the state attorney who said that she recused herself from the case,
00:04:54.460although we have now found out that she never actually did officially recuse herself.
00:05:00.020But prior to that announcement that she would be recusing herself due to a personal relationship with Jussie Smollett as well as his family members,
00:05:07.920we found out that she tried to wrestle this investigation away from Chicago police and hand it over to the FBI.
00:05:15.600Now, I don't know who her contacts are within the FBI, but it became apparent that she had reasons for wanting Chicago police department to no longer handle this investigation.
00:05:26.220Likely because she saw Eddie Johnson's initial comments about this and knew that Eddie Johnson, being the superintendent of CPD,
00:05:33.560was not going to let this go because the situation is that Chicago has a lot of problems, most of them pertaining to crime.
00:05:40.600And this is just something that it was going to be a really, really dark blotch on Chicago's reputation.
00:05:46.400And I think that Superintendent Eddie Johnson was not willing to let that go, and she knew that.
00:05:51.280And then via a Freedom of Information Act request from NBC Chicago,
00:05:56.820we have now seen these text messages between a Michelle Obama affiliate and Kim Fox herself,
00:06:04.540basically proffering the notion that this investigation should go to the FBI.
00:06:08.160And Kim Fox in these text messages says, and I quote, that would be a huge victory.
00:06:13.600So she obviously felt like there was something to benefit from by sending this over to the FBI instead of CPD.
00:06:20.440But it's getting deeper and deeper, and now it's looking like the feds are going to get involved,
00:06:24.900not only because of the mail fraud charge, but also because of this shady situation with state attorney Kim Fox.
00:06:31.880So it's going to be interesting. I don't think this is the end of it.
00:06:34.980Oh, far from the end. It's just the beginning of a new chapter, and it's going to be a scandal.
00:06:39.880I mean, you know, Amanda, it's funny how the left always likes to go on about white privilege.
00:06:43.800When it comes to Chicago, I think I'd gladly trade my white privilege for black, gay, liberal, democrat privilege,
00:06:53.560because that is really what's going on here, isn't it?
00:06:55.840There is somebody in power that spoke to somebody else in power, and they said, drop those charges.
00:07:04.660And I think that is at the root of this.
00:07:07.480And when that proof can be forthcoming, this is just the very beginning of a terrible scandal.
00:07:13.640Yeah, and like I said, it doesn't look good on Chicago, but the difference is there is no longer a two-tier justice system.
00:07:22.460If you are a normal private citizen, just regular old Joe Schmo middle American,
00:07:27.980there is one system of justice for you and then for the highly connected and privileged,
00:07:33.160which would be Jussie Smollett, because not only is he black, not only is he gay, not only is he liberal,
00:07:38.220not only is he a Trump hater, but he's also a celebrity.
00:07:41.480So he has this intersectionality, identity politics force field around him that has protected him.
00:07:47.620And now this connection with Michelle Obama is making, is showing that the tentacles run even deeper.
00:07:55.220And, you know, you combine that with the college cheating scandal.
00:07:59.240And this is why Donald Trump won in 2016.
00:08:01.820And I don't think people are really talking about this in connection with it.
00:08:04.380Donald Trump won in 2016, and he pulled people over from the left because he spoke to this notion,
00:08:11.500this current climate, and this negative feeling that Americans have that people within the Beltway in D.C.
00:08:17.420and people who are well-connected to those people don't ever suffer any consequences for their actions.
00:08:22.680And this is exactly what we are seeing with Jussie Smollett.
00:08:25.940He not only lied about the situation, he tried to smear 62 million Americans,
00:08:32.520people who voted for Donald Trump, and seemingly, as of Tuesday, he's getting away scot-free.
00:08:38.060But I don't think it's that quick because, you know, they still have this letter in their possession
00:08:43.020that might have DNA where Jussie Smollett licked it or where he licked the stamp, allegedly.
00:08:48.460So, and that's a federal charge, so we'll see.
00:08:50.920Yes, hopefully Smollett isn't a fan of forensic files because that's one of the things I noted.
00:08:56.360If you're sending any extortion materials out, don't use your tongue for some DNA off the stamp or the envelope slip.
00:09:03.560But, you know, President Trump rightfully, Amanda, called this an embarrassment to the entire country.
00:09:09.940And he's right because, I mean, I think of the iconic image of Lady Justice, you know,
00:09:44.560And, you know, my feelings about the FBI overseeing a further investigation into Kim Foxx and her relationship to the investigation and to Jussie Smollett,
00:09:55.520I have a few different kind of opposing opinions about that.
00:09:59.020My first concern is sending it over to the FBI.
00:10:01.780That is who she initially wanted to take over the case.
00:10:04.640So it concerns me that there could be some people involved who are on her side and are going to do the same thing that they did with the Clinton email investigation,
00:10:14.380which is just kind of make it go away.
00:10:17.240On the other hand, the FBI is suffering some major reputational problems right now.
00:10:22.700And this might be their opportunity to kind of, you know, I guess, revive their reputation among the American people.
00:11:06.400He's saying, see, I told you so, and he's carrying on like, you know, that he was a victim because of these false accusations that it was a hoax.
00:11:17.240But I point to a couple of loose ends.
00:11:19.400Well, is he going to sue those two Nigerian bodybuilders for libel based on what they said, if he's telling the truth?
00:11:25.420And what about those two white guys with the noose and the bleach?
00:11:52.000And in that interview he did right after the court proceedings, he said that he had been truthful since day one.
00:11:57.660And as a lawyer, you advise your client when you are given such an immense amount of leniency and grace in something like this, you keep your mouth shut.
00:12:08.180He is he is enraging the wrong people with this.
00:12:12.000And I assure you in this, if this Monopoly game that you were talking about converted to a video game, I guarantee you he wishes that he could hit the reset button.
00:12:31.560And I think there are going to be some other people doing the prep walk of shame when we find out how exactly this miscarriage of justice, and that's what it is, how this miscarriage of justice came into being.
00:12:44.200Amanda, thank you so much for another great commentary.
00:14:14.840To be respected, girls should look and act like girls and boys should look and act like boys.
00:14:21.320Look, I think that respect is something that is earned.
00:14:24.420And I think that the SJW who wrote this book is projecting just a little bit here.
00:14:29.600If you're too much of an insufferable SJW for people to like you, I think that's your own problem.
00:14:35.540Well, that transgender quiz will never be mistaken for the sort of material one might come across in a typical Jeopardy! episode.
00:14:44.100But the question arises, why is such an activist's manual on transgenderism being embraced by Nova Scotia schools?
00:14:53.500And is this material truly appropriate for 11-year-olds?
00:14:59.300And with more on the preachy prose that permeates the book Transphobia, deal with it and become a transcender, is our Calgary-based rebel, Kian Beckstay.
00:15:16.020So, Kian, as you point out, it seems that the term transphobia covers a lot of ground.
00:15:22.880But for me, the jump the Sharknado moment is when the author stated that if someone merely accuses you of being transphobic, then obviously you must be a transphobe.
00:15:35.780Can you even begin to explain the logic here, given that we live in a society in which one is supposedly innocent until proven guilty?
00:15:44.480It's stunning, and what's even more stunning is this was a book with this quiz in it sent to 11-year-old kids, prepubescents.
00:15:56.760And the mere accusation of transphobia, and I think that logic from the SJW should apply to everything, racism, what have you.
00:16:10.940If you're accused of something, you're guilty.
00:16:13.180And that's what they're teaching children, which is, I think, a terrible thing to do, because it makes them feel guilt for things that they're not guilty of.
00:16:21.360Maybe they're a little bit judgmental.
00:16:22.760So they could be a lot of things, but they're not transphobic, and just because a book tells them they are doesn't mean they aren't.
00:16:29.960You know, I agree, and I was watching your video.
00:16:42.440But as you point out, Kian, is that, you know, when you look at some of the questions, they're almost designed to make people go against human nature.
00:16:53.940And by that, there was that one question you referred to.
00:16:57.660It was a statement that read, I think the sight of a man in a dress is funny, true or false.
00:17:03.140Well, you know, Kian, I'm sorry, yeah, it is funny to see a guy with big hairy armpits, you know, in a red dress.
00:17:12.320And it's just human nature, you know, to laugh at that.
00:17:16.360It doesn't mean that you've got any kind of phobia, fear, or, you know, urge to violence against such an individual.
00:17:23.160There was also that question about, have you ever told jokes about trans people?
00:17:29.380Well, I'm going to be honest with you, Kian, yes, I have, but I've also told blonde jokes.
00:18:12.380Everyone in the world has to feel guilty for them.
00:18:15.060So by casting the net as wide as they possibly can, they win.
00:18:20.320You know, they teach kids that it is always transgender people that are the victim, no matter what scenario, no matter if you just told a joke, no matter if you're concerned about your daughter being in a bathroom with an old man.
00:18:32.860No matter any of these things, you are the perpetrator of hate and fear, and it's your fault when I don't think that's the case.
00:18:43.980But they're teaching it to kids, so there's certainly a problem here.
00:18:47.460Yeah, and you know, Kian, first of all, we are talking about a percent of a percent of a percent of the population.
00:18:55.440And yet the narrative is, you know, if it's trans, it's good.
00:18:59.920But let's be honest, my friend, there is a dark side to transgenderism.
00:19:04.760A couple of examples in the news we've seen lately, men becoming women and going into elite athletics and from cycling to wrestling, just slaughtering the natural born woman there because they have an inherent disadvantage biologically.
00:20:06.240People like you need to take this quiz and get angry because then we look bad.
00:20:11.440And really what the problem is, is the folks that write the books in the first place shouldn't be so polarizing about it and they shouldn't be teaching our kids.
00:20:33.820They're all just trying to live their life, but the way that these condescending authors of these books put it, it's like the whole world's out to get them and telling a joke about them is going to destroy their lives when that's not the case.
00:20:48.720They tell jokes about themselves all the time and they just want to be treated as humans.
00:20:54.840And putting people in a box saying you can't make fun of them or these people are special and you need to take extra precautions, it's dehumanizing.
00:21:04.260People want to be able to be made fun of.
00:21:06.440If you can't be made fun of, you don't feel like everyone else.
00:21:10.960So I think that transgender people themselves should be upset with this quiz with how polarizing it is and how it teaches children that transgender people are an exception and don't really fit in and need to be, social concessions need to be made for them.
00:21:29.760And by the way, just to be clear, I'm in no way alleging that if you're trans, you therefore are a pedophile.
00:21:36.860It's the other way around, there is a faction of that group.
00:21:42.540I mentioned the Brampton pedophile and I mentioned men being women to compete in sports where they're winning championships, whereas if they were in the men's division, they wouldn't even make the team.
00:21:55.200I guess what I'm getting at is that there are certain people in the trans community, whether it's Corrections Canada policies or the world of sports, that are gaming the system and getting away with it.
00:22:08.880They're cheating and I think that's wrong.
00:22:42.800One last question, if I can get a quick answer for you.
00:22:45.300I've always been of the opinion that I've never understood really why the gay community is aligned with the trans community.
00:22:52.480We see, you know, the, you know, the initial gram LGBT.
00:22:57.360And I've seen people in the gay community come out and say that the L's and the G's and the B's should distance themselves from the T's because it's a completely different agenda.
00:23:49.980You might as well – it's the whole intersectional argument.
00:23:52.520You might as well associate the plight of black people and the legacy of slavery with gay people in the mind of an SJW because victimhood is victimhood to them.
00:24:02.120And they can't really distinguish between the two.
00:24:03.960But when you're looking at it from the perspective of a regular person, they see a huge array of different problems between the different groups.
00:24:14.040And I would say they're not related at all.
00:24:17.420And I kind of hold contempt for the name LGBT, actually.
00:24:23.080I think that they should be separated.
00:24:24.640Well, this will be a continuing debate in the years ahead.
00:24:50.680I'm here in the parking lot of Black Jack's Roadhouse in Nisku, Alberta.
00:24:54.780We're doing one of our pop-up sign stops for our beautiful StopKnotley.com signs to help promote my book, StopKnotley, the case for throwing out the NDP.
00:25:06.340I haven't been back at Black Jack's, unfortunately, since they hosted that record-breaking truck convoy a few months back in support of pipelines and against Trudeau.
00:25:16.720And when we got here, there were people already waiting in the parking lot.
00:25:20.300It's not even six yet, and my daughter is behind me frantically trying to assemble signs for the people who are waiting for them.
00:25:28.620And I'm going to talk to the people and see why they showed up, and then I'm going to help my daughter.
00:25:43.160Why'd you come down to get a sign today?
