00:00:00.880 Oh, hey, good morning, good afternoon, everybody, depending on what part of this beautiful country
00:00:05.540 that you're in.
00:00:06.280 My name is Sheila Gunn-Reed, and I am the host of our weekly show, Rebel Roundup, wherein
00:00:12.040 we recap the news of the week in an unscripted and spontaneous way.
00:00:17.080 Sometimes I haven't even seen the clips that we are going to watch together, so you will
00:00:21.740 get my raw reaction sometimes to the idiocy or sometimes the best of life, the best of
00:00:31.480 what humanity has to offer us in some of these clips when we see people speaking truth to
00:00:36.200 power.
00:00:37.080 So that's what you're going to get out of the show today.
00:00:39.660 We talk about politics, we talk about the culture wars, and maybe even the smaller culture skirmishes.
00:00:45.960 We talk about the mainstream media largely in a critical way.
00:00:51.400 However, I remain endlessly grateful to the mainstream media because, well, because of
00:00:59.160 them, I have a job, and they will never get better, and so I have very stable job security
00:01:05.840 thanks to how terrible they are, and pending, I do something to explode my career on my own.
00:01:12.040 But so far, so good, eight-plus years here at Rebel News, and no major catastrophes on
00:01:17.880 my hands.
00:01:19.040 I should tell everybody what we're doing here today and how they can get involved.
00:01:23.560 So I told you what the show's all about.
00:01:25.440 It's once a week.
00:01:26.560 It used to be every single day, hosted by myself and Dave and Menzies, and sometimes a
00:01:30.580 rotating cast of characters.
00:01:32.320 However, I think David Menzies is the best man-on-the-street journalist in the entire country,
00:01:36.240 and it is an absolute shame to take him off his beat to put him in the studio for an hour
00:01:42.180 plus every day or even every week.
00:01:45.620 I'm sitting at my desk working, doing many other things for the company, so it's just
00:01:52.500 easy enough for me to flip on my camera and go live, and then we can talk to each other.
00:01:56.240 And that is a really important part of the show, is talking to each other, because this
00:02:02.220 is an interactive show.
00:02:03.460 So if you're watching us on the censorship platform of YouTube, thank you so much for
00:02:08.600 sticking it out.
00:02:09.740 I understand why you're over there.
00:02:12.660 I don't know if you're like me, but when they tell me I can't do something or be somewhere,
00:02:16.600 that's how you get more of me.
00:02:18.640 So I understand why you're over on YouTube.
00:02:20.800 However, if you want to support the work that we do completely willingly, unlike what
00:02:25.840 Justin Trudeau makes you do with the terrible and endlessly failing mainstream media, might
00:02:32.440 I suggest you head on over to Rumble and Odyssey, because on those two platforms, you can have
00:02:38.160 your say, but also pitch in a little bit to keep the lights on here at Rebel News.
00:02:42.280 So on Rumble, their paid chat is called a Rumble Rant.
00:02:45.820 On Odyssey, it's called a Hyper Chat.
00:02:47.320 If you leave more than the $5 US minimum, so $5 and above US, hear me now.
00:02:53.380 I'm obligating myself to read it on air, but don't let that be the bar for entry, because
00:02:59.740 frequently we read chats that are smaller than the $5 US minimum, and even the free chats.
00:03:05.300 If somebody's watching on the Rebel News team, and they think what you say has been interesting
00:03:10.500 or funny or clever or timely, they'll send it to me in a private chat, and who knows?
00:03:17.560 I just might read it on air.
00:03:18.840 So those are the nuts and bolts of the show, something I want to tell you about before we
00:03:26.700 move on.
00:03:27.400 And this is near and dear to my heart, and it is only possible through your support.
00:03:34.600 Some of you may know that my documentary filmmaking partner, Kian Simone, who is the head of documentaries
00:03:41.180 here at Rebel News, which is a burgeoning side of the business, thanks to Kian's hard work
00:03:46.780 and his artistic vision and journalistic good sense.
00:03:51.860 But he and I have been working on a new documentary.
00:03:55.860 It follows on the heels of our hit documentary, and I say that because we sold out everywhere we
00:04:03.880 went, all across the country, small towns and big cities.
00:04:06.620 And I mean, we're still selling the documentary.
00:04:09.680 You can buy a copy at rebelnewsstore.com.
00:04:13.480 The merch for the documentary was beautiful and compelling.
00:04:17.540 So our previous documentary was called Church Under Fire, Canada's War on Christianity.
00:04:22.460 And it documented just a few of the pastors who stood up to the tyranny and oppression of
00:04:32.020 the government lockdowns because it violated their religious freedom.
00:04:35.620 And they were not men who would, and women, I should say, Pastor Tracy's in there too.
00:04:43.200 They were men who would not bow down to Caesar when Caesar's laws were incompatible with those
00:04:51.540 of Christ.
00:04:52.420 And so you can find that documentary, Church Under Fire.
00:04:55.440 It's on the Rebel News store.
00:04:58.000 So that's my big preamble.
00:05:00.100 I want to tell you about what we've been working on.
00:05:04.040 Some of you may already know.
00:05:05.520 Some of you may have already supported our work.
00:05:07.880 It's called MADE, The Dark Side of Canadian Compassion.
00:05:14.700 And it is our gut-wrenching documentary on medical assistance in dying and just how we have really
00:05:26.800 fallen down this slippery slope since the inception of medical assistance in dying.
00:05:32.900 And we spoke to activists fighting to stop medical assistance in dying.
00:05:38.880 We spoke to politicians.
00:05:40.460 We spoke to families who have come out the other side of medical assistance in dying.
00:05:47.100 We even spoke to a lady who survived the push for medical assistance in dying.
00:05:51.800 We spoke to veterans.
00:05:52.680 We spoke to advocates for the disabled and the mentally ill, a very hard documentary to
00:06:00.880 make because you were talking to people about the very worst day of their life.
00:06:05.680 And we learned a lot, a lot I didn't want to hear, but I knew we had to hear and we knew
00:06:12.780 we had to tell you.
00:06:14.440 And when we started making this documentary, it's at madedocumentary.com.
00:06:20.460 You can see the trailer there and I'll show you the trailer in a second.
00:06:23.680 But, you know, when we first proposed the idea that we would make this documentary, we
00:06:30.580 got two responses back largely from the public.
00:06:33.800 And one said to us, this is not as bad as you say it is.
00:06:40.420 They cannot be offering veterans medical assistance in dying instead of a wheelchair.
00:06:46.000 They cannot be offering drug addicts medical assistance in dying instead of drug treatment.
00:06:54.020 They can't be offering the homeless death instead of a house.
00:06:57.480 They cannot be offering people who are leaving the hospital from a suicide attempt medical
00:07:07.740 assistance in dying by the time they get home.
00:07:09.540 People were saying that we were making it up, that it could not be that bad.
00:07:14.920 So that's half of the email responses we got.
00:07:17.640 And the other half of the email responses we received were people telling us that it was
00:07:22.760 worse than even what we could imagine.
00:07:26.340 And along this journey with my friend Kian, it is worse.
00:07:31.480 And I don't think I'm speaking out of turn for Kian when I say he came into this documentary,
00:07:37.240 as he does with many of his documentaries, with a completely open mind.
00:07:40.940 He sort of had the libertarian approach to it that maybe it's not the government's place
00:07:46.200 to get involved.
00:07:49.520 But he has completely changed lanes to being a staunch advocate against medical assistance
00:07:57.340 in dying.
00:07:58.300 The documentary is finished.
00:08:00.220 We're just polishing it a little bit, but it's finished.
00:08:04.900 We worked on it over this, you know, late winter, early spring.
00:08:11.080 And then Kian has made a beautiful piece of journalism that will serve as a damning indictment
00:08:18.000 of Canada's culture for future generations.
00:08:21.360 And we are launching our documentary tour.
00:08:24.540 So far, we've got Western Canada planned.
00:08:27.300 I think the website that Kian is using there is endmade.com, but also you can find it at
00:08:35.240 maidedocumentary.com.
00:08:37.360 And for those of you who pitched in to help us make the documentary, and you can still do
00:08:40.620 that because you can pitch in to help us take it on the road.
00:08:44.000 That's at maidedocumentary.com.
00:08:46.560 So we're coming to a town and city near you.
00:08:49.500 Also, if you are a church or a venue that would like to host us, please reach out.
00:08:58.860 There's a contact form on the documentary website there.
00:09:02.800 And I think it's one of the most beautiful websites we've ever done.
00:09:05.380 And it's an interactive website.
00:09:09.140 And if you're in Western Canada, you can see our tour dates there.
00:09:15.680 And now I'd like to show you the trailer for our documentary.
00:09:21.480 Because I've already told you all about this documentary.
00:09:24.180 I'm hoping you want to come see it, but maybe you need to push over the finish line.
00:09:28.840 This is the beautiful trailer that my friend Kian put together.
00:09:32.500 Olivia, please.
00:09:33.220 I asked him, and I said, how did they come to the conclusion that I was going to die?
00:09:40.400 He said, because they didn't really know what to do with you.
00:09:43.440 The government of Canada is killing Canadians, and not just a few, and not just the terminally
00:09:48.200 ill.
00:09:48.580 Over 50,000.
00:09:50.280 So, 50,000!
00:09:51.660 They essentially evicted us from our buildings because we would not participate in this government
00:09:57.340 euthanasia program.
00:09:58.540 Well, there is a startling new development in the ongoing controversy around veterans
00:10:03.760 being offered medical assistance in dying.
00:10:06.760 Instead of help, are you familiar with their MAID program?
00:10:09.500 They said, well, it's better than blowing your brains out against the wall.
00:10:12.500 Canadians are expecting us to get the job done.
00:10:15.060 Fraser Health is refusing to give information.
00:10:17.720 information, and because of that, the police investigation had to close.
00:10:23.940 Therefore, Fraser Health is covering information up.
00:10:26.560 And we know for a fact that our people in power do not take responsibility for anything.
00:10:31.680 So, it's a financial...
00:10:33.680 So, it's a financial...
