Hello, my rebels. Just a quick show today. A bit of an update on two interesting battles.
00:00:05.440
We were battling Trudeau in federal court today. I'll let you know how that went. And then the four
00:00:10.300
remaining conservative candidates will battle it out in the English language debates. I don't have
00:00:15.600
a lot to say about it on this podcast, but I have a three-hour live stream YouTube super chat
00:00:22.400
where we'll cover the debate. So once you've done tonight's short podcast, click on over
00:00:26.900
and watch the YouTube live stream. You can see a link to that. I find that pretty easy.
00:00:31.760
Find that right on our YouTube page. If I can, let me invite you to become a premium subscriber
00:00:37.900
to what we call Rebel News Plus. It's basically the video version of this podcast, plus other shows.
00:00:43.860
It's eight bucks a month, well worth the price. You can get that at rebelnews.com. Okay, here's the podcast.

Tonight, Justin Trudeau's lawyers battled us again in court today, and four conservatives
00:01:10.180
are battling each other in a debate. It's June 18, and this is the Ezra LeVant Show.
00:01:14.880
Two things I'd like to tell you about, and then I'd like to invite you to watch the live stream
00:01:39.860
that I'll be hosting on our YouTube channel tonight. First, this morning, we were back in
00:01:45.140
the Federal Court of Canada for our judicial review hearing in regards to Justin Trudeau's
00:01:50.680
hand-picked election debates commission banning our reporters from attending the national debates
00:01:55.780
last October. As you know, we won that emergency court hearing in October, and a judge ordered
00:02:04.080
Trudeau's people to let us in literally hours before that debate began. It was wonderful,
00:02:08.580
and our reporters asked the best questions of the night, and the most questions of the
00:02:13.560
night. And apropos of Trudeau losing his UN Security Council election yesterday, may I
00:02:19.160
show you one of those questions put by Kian Bexte?
00:02:22.280
Hi, Mr. Trudeau. Since your multiple use of blackface became an international scandal,
00:02:27.580
Canada's international reputation has been irreparably harmed. Have you reached out to any
00:02:33.540
African leaders or any leaders from the Middle East to apologize for your conduct?
00:02:37.320
Canada will continue to engage in a positive, constructive way around the world, standing
00:02:42.700
up for human rights, engaging with leaders right around the world, because we know that
00:02:48.360
promoting our values and prosperity for everyone around the world is good for Canadians and creates
00:02:57.300
So that didn't answer the question at all. Have you spoken to any African leaders or leaders
00:03:01.540
from the Middle East to apologize for your personal conduct?
00:03:05.500
I have continued to engage with leaders around the world in a responsible way during an election
00:03:11.040
campaign. My focus is connecting with Canadians, as I was able to tonight. And I was very pleased
00:03:15.960
to see so many of the questions turned to the environment. In all sections, there was a clear
00:03:21.100
contrast between those on stage who don't think we should be fighting climate change and those of
00:03:26.180
us who do. And again, we are the only party with a clear plan to fight climate change.
00:03:31.260
Yeah, Kian knew, didn't he? The mainstream media all groaned when Trudeau was asked that question
00:03:36.600
by Kian. But do you really doubt that every African leader thought, no way I'm electing that blackface
00:03:43.500
fool to the UN, even if Canada's state broadcaster has forgiven him? I think that blackface thing
00:03:48.040
damaged Trudeau globally. Anyway, big win last year for us in court. But we actually asked
00:03:52.860
for two different things in our lawsuit. The first was an emergency court injunction
00:03:57.580
letting us in, and we got that. Amazing. But the second that we filed way back then was a larger
00:04:02.780
judicial review to have the courts look through the debate commission's misconduct, to review how
00:04:08.020
they made their decisions, to fix what's broken. It wasn't enough that we got in that one time.
00:04:12.580
We need to fix this partisan, censorious board that was just invented by Trudeau to nationalize
00:04:17.940
debates, which is weird in itself. So today, Trudeau's lawyers went to court to try to get
00:04:22.840
the court to throw out our judicial review. We were there in court, along with True North
00:04:28.300
and their lawyers, explaining how the matter is still alive and still relevant, and how the
00:04:33.040
government needs oversight. I couldn't watch all of it. I had to do other things today. I think it was
00:04:37.500
going for five hours. But I feel great about our lawyers' representations, and I could see the judge
00:04:41.940
was paying close attention. For example, one of Trudeau's lawyers had said there was no reason for
00:04:46.380
this review at all, since the debates commission is just ephemeral. It's all done now. I saw the
00:04:52.400
judge weigh in on that and say, yeah, no, there's nothing in the cabinet order that created Trudeau's
00:04:56.660
debate commission to suggest it's temporary. Don't try to trick a judge. Don't try to bamboozle them.
00:05:02.200
These same lawyers tried that same tactic back in October that Trudeau's lawyers tried to bamboozle
00:05:07.540
the judge. I could see it backfire against them. I guess if you try and trick a judge, you just make the
00:05:13.500
judge all the more attentive and skeptical. I hope that's what will be happening here. I'll let you
00:05:17.680
know when we know the result. You can see the whole story at letusreport.com. I think it's going to be
00:05:24.840
a tough fight. The liberals have so many lawyers. I think I saw four lawyers for Trudeau talk today so
00:05:32.020
far. And, you know, it's not a battle to begin with, but we're fighting a good fight. So that's one
00:05:39.100
piece of news. The other piece of news is that tonight, right now, actually, and that's why we're
00:05:42.920
having a short show tonight, is that we're going to cover live the conservative party leaders debate.
00:05:48.040
I have my quarrels with the whole party and their whole process. They disqualify two candidates
00:05:52.420
without even letting them present themselves to party members. Jim Carahalios and Richard DeCary,
00:05:57.520
you can take them or leave them. I'm not on anyone's team, but why weren't they at least to go the
00:06:01.520
distance, allowed to go the distance and let the people vote on them? Why did some secret party
00:06:05.980
committee meet and nuke the candidates without letting the people choose? It's so weird.
00:06:12.180
And the weirdest continued last night, too, at the French language debates. I'm pleased to say
00:06:17.220
that Aaron O'Toole ended his boycott of Rebel News last night, and it was so normal. Here's
00:06:22.720
Kean asking him some normal questions and getting some normal answers.
00:06:27.860
Kean with Rebel News. We've been trying to catch up with you for quite some time throughout the campaign,
00:06:32.240
and we just wanted to ask a few questions. We asked every other candidate who showed up to
00:06:35.900
today. Leslyn didn't show up. She's studying at home. We wanted to know if you think the RCMP are
00:06:42.960
I'm a big supporter of those who serve in uniform, obviously, as a veteran, so I have a lot of respect
00:06:48.000
for our police. And I think during this time, we probably have to re-evaluate all of our departments
00:06:53.920
and all of our systems to make sure that we live up to the high standards that we expect of ourselves.
00:06:58.160
I think all institutions are doing that, but I certainly support our people in uniform.
00:07:04.900
They have a very difficult job to do. I'm a big fan of community-based policing, building up trust,
00:07:09.780
so I think you'll see probably more of that approach in the coming years.
00:07:13.120
Peter, sorry, not Peter McKay, Justin Trudeau. Sorry, I confused those two.
00:07:17.080
Justin Trudeau kneeled on Parliament Hill at a rally for Black Lives Matter. What do you think that
00:07:21.880
meant to Canadians that the Prime Minister kneeled? And would you as Prime Minister ever do the same?
00:07:25.940
I was more disappointed with the Prime Minister after months of standing in front of his cottage
00:07:31.780
and lecturing Canadians on social distancing, on not appearing in crowds, on living their life
00:07:38.820
and closing businesses, that he would then contravene his own advice to Canadians. I thought it was
00:07:46.540
quite disappointing, despite the fact that it's important to acknowledge movement and frustrations
00:07:54.580
and some of the anger out there, but he contradicted his very own advice to Canadians. It just shows
00:07:59.800
that he's a hypocrite in my view and has nothing to do with the issue. It has to do with his
00:08:04.660
leadership. He's failed throughout this crisis from beginning to end, and there's so many reasons
00:08:09.280
why we have to replace him, and that's what I'm here to do tonight. Good luck in the debate.
00:08:12.840
What was so hard about that? Frankly, I think Kian could have pressed O'Toole harder, but the
00:08:16.460
young lad was probably just shocked that O'Toole wasn't running away again, so good job.
00:08:20.720
But Peter McKay, for weird reasons or no reasons or whatever reasons, he just keeps running from
00:08:30.440
Peter, you, you, you, you, yeah, I didn't get to answer the question. Why'd you, why'd you take so
00:08:36.080
many, why'd you take so few questions? Peter, why'd you take so few questions? I want to ask if you'll
00:08:41.980
apologize for calling Jason. I'm not sure why you took so, so few questions compared to everyone else.
00:08:48.820
Peter, sorry. You must be confused. The escalator was over there. Would you be able to tell me,
00:09:02.360
will you apologize to Jason Kenney? Will you apologize to Jason Kenney for calling him angry
00:09:06.520
and dismissing the concerns of Albertans? Peter, you dismissed the anger in Alberta by calling Jason
00:09:15.200
Kenney an angry man. Will you apologize for that? Will you apologize for calling Jason
00:09:25.760
Kenney an angry man? How come you don't attend media mail? I was on the phone and they didn't
00:09:29.820
select me. Oh my God, you were so busy. You couldn't get to the previously scheduled media.
00:09:35.260
Peter McKay, you, you sort of look like a coward right now. Yeah, I don't think so.
00:09:38.660
It's called winning. Excuse me. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. We're not going into the whole
00:09:44.360
elevator, right, sir? All right. Can you come on, please? He ran into an elevator. So did Kian. So
00:09:50.580
McKay ran out. Then he ran to the bathroom. Then he ran out. Kian didn't go into the bathroom.
00:09:55.740
Peter McKay didn't have to pee. So he didn't stay there. He was in the bathroom and probably said,
00:09:59.620
what am I doing here? It's just so weird. I don't get it. I mean, I've met Kian. He's not everyone's a
00:10:05.140
cup of tea, but I would never imagine literally running away from him, even if he had tough
00:10:10.020
questions. What's he going to do to you, Peter? His questions sounded pretty normal, at least at
00:10:15.380
the beginning. I think Kian literally had identical questions for each of the candidates. Kian got
00:10:20.660
tougher with McKay as McKay got more cowardly. But look, if you don't want to answer a reporter,
00:10:26.680
don't answer a reporter. Just stand in silence. I mean, it looked weird, but running and peeing and
00:10:33.060
hiding and not peeing and having a junior staffer buzz like a bee, that just looks amateurish and
00:10:39.220
weak. Seriously, if you have something to say to Kian or to me, just say it. Or if you have nothing
00:10:45.200
to say, then don't say it. Both of which could be weird. But what is with running away and being
00:10:52.360
afraid like he's got the plague or something? Is this all just to please the CBC? Because Wendy
00:10:58.580
Madison will call you the N-word if you talk to the rebel or something. But if you can't handle
00:11:03.220
Kian, I'm not sure you're ready to go to battle in a general election against the liberal war in the
00:11:08.060
media part. If you're afraid of Kian Bexte or Ezra Levant, I'm pretty sure you're not ready for Xi
00:11:13.180
Jinping or Vladimir Putin either, or Donald Trump. He'll eat you alive. So yeah, it's pretty weird.
00:11:18.800
Kian will be there again tonight. I'll be here. We'll be live streaming the debates with comments.
00:11:24.060
I'll be here. Kian will be down there and we'll try and loop in our other talent too. So big day,
00:11:27.960
big night. We're going to truncate our regular show tonight because of all this. But if you're
00:11:33.040
able, please click on over to our YouTube page and watch our live stream. I imagine I'll be going
00:11:37.660
for a few hours over there, probably three hours at least. And it's interactive. If you watch it live,
00:11:44.480
you can do a super chat with us, which is an easy way to make real-time comments like a radio call-in
00:11:49.360
show, but you're typing. It's pretty fun. So let me say good night to you now. Full normal show tomorrow.
00:11:55.620
But for tonight, I think we're going to be on probably for three hours. Please head on over
00:12:00.800
to our live stream. You'll find a link to it under this video. All right, that's it for today.
00:12:06.480
On behalf of all of us here, until tomorrow, good night and keep fighting for freedom.
00:12:32.400
On behalf of all of us here, above all the life of us, I got the сюда and..
