00:00:00.000 Hello, my Rebels. It's been the end of a rollercoaster week.
00:00:03.820 On Sunday, I guess the week starts Sunday, we were in Montreal where the police tried to raid our Airbnb.
00:00:11.240 On Monday, YouTube suspended us for a week on false pretenses.
00:00:15.780 And here we are on Friday, but you know what? I think we're going to be okay.
00:00:20.280 And I'll explain to you why and what we've learned this week. Very interesting week.
00:00:25.200 I have a little bit of hope in me.
00:00:26.520 So, anyways, before I get to that, let me invite you to become a subscriber to Rebel News Plus.

00:00:34.380 And I've got to tell you, today, in addition to the story of the week that was,
00:00:40.600 and an interview with Spencer Fernando about Erin O'Toole's new carbon tax,
00:00:45.220 we actually have a special last half of the show.
00:00:49.580 We have the half-hour masterpiece of our visit to Montreal on the police radar on our Airbnb.
00:00:56.520 I think you'll be able to get most of it on the podcast, but I tell you,
00:01:02.700 it really is a visual experience to show the 50 cops,
00:01:06.540 to show them trying to bust into our Airbnb, to show them manhandling David Menzies.
00:01:13.400 So, please consider becoming a Rebel News Plus subscriber where you get the video version of the podcast.
00:01:18.720 You'll see it.
00:01:21.640 It's $8 a month or $80 for the whole year.

00:01:27.820 plus a show from David Menzies, Sheila Gunn-Reed, and Andrew Chapados.
00:01:31.220 $8 a month or $80 for the whole year.

00:01:36.180 All right, here's today's podcast.
00:01:37.680 Tonight, you know what?
00:01:54.620 I think we're going to be okay.
00:01:56.560 It's April 16th, and this is the Ezra LeVant Show.
00:01:59.080 Why should others go to jail when you're a biggest carbon consumer I know?
00:02:04.900 There's 8,500 customers here, and you won't give them an answer.
00:02:08.940 The only thing I have to say to the government about why I publish it
00:02:12.480 is because it's my bloody right to do so.
00:02:19.880 What a week.
00:02:20.980 I guess weeks technically start on Sundays, right?
00:02:23.960 So we were in Montreal, and we had just been through one of the most stressful events you can imagine.
00:02:29.280 We were there with 17 of our rebel staff to join up with our local Montrealler, Yankee Pollock,
00:02:34.720 who had been harassed by police for weeks just for reporting on their heavy-handed lockdowns.
00:02:40.660 Well, when police detected where we were staying on an Airbnb that was actually a houseboat moored in the old port,
00:02:49.140 they raided the place, demanding to rifle through all our reporters' rooms, suitcases, yeah, no, get a warrant.
00:02:56.540 Here's a sample of how that went.
00:02:59.100 Come back with a warrant.
00:03:04.300 And close the door, for God's sakes.
00:03:06.960 Show some manners.
00:03:13.880 I need somebody to be responsible for the vote.
00:03:16.500 I don't...
00:03:16.980 Yeah, you have them over there.
00:03:18.080 Go get a warrant.
00:03:19.300 Go get a warrant.
00:03:20.420 Go get a warrant.
00:03:22.260 No, I need my medicine.
00:03:23.280 Okay, go with your friend now.
00:03:24.680 Why are you pushing me?
00:03:26.040 Why are you pushing me?
00:03:27.000 I'm not pushing you.
00:03:28.300 Go, sir.
00:03:30.580 Go, sir, please.
00:03:31.600 Go, sir, please.
00:03:37.460 Change! Change! Change! Change!
00:03:40.840 Change!
00:03:41.780 They will taser you.
00:03:43.700 They have already arrested one of our reporters after physically assaulting him.
00:03:49.340 This is the police brutality.
00:03:51.600 This is the police brutality.
00:03:52.480 We have come here to observe.
00:03:54.880 And here they come.
00:03:56.800 Crooked cops.
00:03:58.140 Corrupt cops.
00:03:58.720 You're crushing me with a bicycle.
00:04:00.480 Watch your fucking bike, then.
00:04:01.560 Are you kidding me?
00:04:02.600 Watch your fucking bike, then.
00:04:03.400 Hey!
00:04:03.560 Hey!
00:04:03.900 Hey!
00:04:04.180 Hey!
00:04:04.480 This battle will take us years to fix.
00:04:11.160 What the police did to us today must see its day in court.
00:04:15.820 I'll be there.
00:04:16.620 If you can give us the tools, we'll do the job.
00:04:18.500 Please go to lockdownreports.com.
00:04:20.460 It was very dramatic, very tense.
00:04:21.980 I was very mad.
00:04:23.580 And more than any of that, I was very sad to see the rule of law destroyed so casually
00:04:27.820 by Canada's second largest municipal police force.
00:04:30.860 The most shocking moment was when they arrested our friend David Menzies, took him to jail,
00:04:35.120 but then told our lawyer that they'd let David free if we just agreed to let the police
00:04:40.580 search our rooms without a warrant.
00:04:42.940 They basically used him as a hostage.
00:04:45.140 What a terrible day.
00:04:47.440 But after 10 hours of trying, they couldn't find a judge to give him a search warrant.
00:04:51.520 So they just released David and left the scene.
00:04:54.120 How bizarre.
00:04:54.700 At the end of today's show, I'm going to tack on a 30-minute video of that whole weekend.
00:04:59.560 It's very dramatic.
00:05:00.500 And I was very mad.
00:05:01.580 I don't know if I've ever been angry in my life.
00:05:04.180 And you will hear some swearing, including a swear from me.
00:05:06.960 But I want you to see what it was like that day.
00:05:09.080 So that's going to be the end of the show today instead of letters.
00:05:12.500 So that was weekend.
00:05:13.980 Then came Monday.
00:05:15.660 And after work on Monday, we get a note from YouTube that they're suspending us just because.
00:05:20.960 And for a week, they were banning us from uploading any videos to the platform or
00:05:25.020 having any live stream, just cutting us off from 1.45 million YouTube subscribers.
00:05:30.280 And their excuse was laughable.
00:05:31.700 It was because of a video from me, an excerpt of my monologue back in early January when
00:05:37.040 all the social media companies had banned Donald Trump on the same day.
00:05:40.580 Here's the first couple of minutes of that just to show you what they claimed was a reason
00:05:45.460 to suspend our whole channel.
00:05:47.260 Look at this post by Mark Zuckerberg, the boss of Facebook.
00:05:51.720 The shocking events of the last 24 hours clearly demonstrate that President Donald Trump intends
00:05:58.140 to use his remaining time in office to undermine the peaceful and lawful transition of power
00:06:03.960 to his elected successor, Joe Biden.
00:06:09.960 Now, that is an opinion.
00:06:12.160 And it could even be an honest or a reasonable opinion.
00:06:15.860 Maybe it's even the majority opinion.
00:06:18.040 But it's not what Donald Trump or his spokesman have actually said.
00:06:23.860 They've specifically said that Trump will, in fact, accept the final result and assist
00:06:30.800 in the peaceful transition of power.
00:06:33.580 I mean, you don't have to believe him, but that's what Trump says.
00:06:37.220 So Zuckerberg is entitled to his opinions about the future or entitled to his speculation about
00:06:44.360 what's going on in Trump's mind.
00:06:46.300 But those are just speculations.
00:06:48.820 I mean, it's his opinion.
00:06:51.360 But then Zuckerberg said this.
00:06:54.180 His decision to use his platform to condone rather than condemn the actions of his supporters
00:07:01.600 at the Capitol building has rightly disturbed people in the U.S. and around the world.
00:07:06.840 We removed these statements yesterday because we judged that their effect
00:07:12.560 and likely their intent would be to provoke further violence.
00:07:17.760 But he didn't do that.
00:07:19.700 I mean, that's what he said as a matter of record.
00:07:23.020 I mean, I saw the video.
00:07:24.480 I think we showed it last night.
00:07:26.120 Here's what he said.
00:07:27.100 It's only a minute long.
00:07:28.140 Take a look.
00:07:28.600 I know you're pain.
00:07:30.620 I know you're hurt.
00:07:32.040 We had an election that was stolen from us.
00:07:36.140 It was a landslide election.
00:07:38.280 And everyone knows it, especially the other side.
00:07:42.100 But you have to go home now.
00:07:44.420 We have to have peace.
00:07:46.080 We have to have law and order.
00:07:47.460 We have to respect our great people in law and order.
00:07:51.600 We don't want anybody hurt.
00:07:53.440 It's a very tough period of time.
00:07:55.260 There's never been a time like this where such a thing happened,
00:08:00.000 where they could take it away from all of us,
00:08:02.300 from me, from you, from our country.
00:08:04.760 This was a fraudulent election.
00:08:07.440 But we can't play into the hands of these people.
00:08:12.040 We have to have peace.
00:08:14.140 So go home.
00:08:15.920 We love you.
00:08:17.000 You're very special.
00:08:18.560 You've seen what happens.
00:08:20.160 You see the way others are treated that are so bad and so evil.
00:08:25.260 I know how you feel.
00:08:27.140 But go home and go home in peace.
00:08:30.340 The thing is, you can't see that video anymore.
00:08:34.580 You can't see what Trump actually said now.
00:08:38.020 You have to take Zuckerberg's word for it,
00:08:40.680 his interpretation of it,
00:08:42.280 because he doesn't actually quote Trump, does he?
00:08:44.480 You can't watch that for yourself on Twitter,
00:08:47.700 where it was also deleted.
00:08:49.060 And Instagram is owned by Zuckerberg,
00:08:51.760 so it's deleted there, too.
00:08:53.820 I mean, it's only an inch away from Google
00:08:55.920 banning searches for the White House website itself.
00:09:00.200 These are your new rulers, by the way.
00:09:03.620 It's not Joe Biden, it's these guys.
00:09:06.040 If they can rule Trump, they can rule you, too.
00:09:08.400 You know, you can still see what Nicolas Maduro,
00:09:13.020 the tyrant of Venezuela, has to say on Twitter.
00:09:16.580 Same thing with the Ayatollahs of Iran,
00:09:19.200 or China's countless government propagandists on Twitter.
00:09:22.360 By the way, you can't even access Twitter in those countries,
00:09:25.600 but Twitter lets those tyrants use their forum
00:09:28.560 to attack America and the West.
00:09:31.780 If mighty Donald Trump, who is still president,
00:09:34.340 who is a billionaire who received close to 70, 80 million votes,
00:09:40.200 if he can be silenced by some nerdy twerp in Silicon Valley,
00:09:43.680 everyone can be.
00:09:44.800 They said that violated the rule against claiming
00:09:47.480 there had been massive fraud in the U.S. presidential election.
00:09:51.020 But I didn't say that in that video.
00:09:53.760 I wasn't talking about that at all.
00:09:56.060 I was talking about tech companies banning Trump.
00:09:58.860 My argument was that if big tech companies could censor Trump,
00:10:02.380 a sitting president, a billionaire, the most powerful man in the world,
00:10:05.860 then they could silence anyone.
00:10:07.800 And how ironic that came true.
00:10:09.860 So that was a shock, obviously a stitch-up, as they say.
00:10:13.460 I didn't say anything or show anything on that video
00:10:15.400 that wasn't shown by nearly every news station in the world,
00:10:18.200 including all those news stations' YouTube channels.
00:10:20.960 This was just YouTube coming in for the kill.
00:10:24.000 Who knows why they're opaque, they're secretive.
00:10:26.600 Unlike a government prosecutor,
00:10:28.800 YouTube doesn't have to give you a warning or notice or an appeal.
00:10:31.260 They don't have to be fair or consistent.
00:10:33.800 They can kill you for any reason or no reason,
00:10:36.340 even if you have spent six years building up your company
00:10:38.800 on their platform, translation, building up their platform,
00:10:43.380 adding 1.45 million people to YouTube's customer base
00:10:46.900 and earning them millions of dollars in ads.
00:10:49.920 But they're tired of us being conservative,
00:10:52.140 so they're coming to kill us.
00:10:53.120 I don't know if it's related to that U.S. Navy intelligence
00:10:55.740 spying on us or Stephen Gilbeau
00:10:58.280 and his explicit plans to censor social media
00:11:00.940 and his rush to do so before Trudeau's election this summer.
00:11:05.160 Could be.
00:11:06.280 Or it could just be radicals at YouTube headquarters
00:11:08.600 in San Francisco,
00:11:10.360 the most extreme left-wing city in North America,
00:11:12.940 telling us what we can or can't think.
00:11:14.760 So I was a bit depressed when I was heading home on Monday night,
00:11:17.140 but here it is Friday now,
00:11:18.460 and you know what?
00:11:19.660 I mean, I still think it's unfair.
00:11:20.820 I still think it's outrageous.
00:11:21.740 I think it's a stitch-up,
00:11:23.280 but even if they do flatten us, completely nuke us,
00:11:27.000 I think we're going to survive.
00:11:29.880 The 30-minute Montreal story we're going to show you later
00:11:32.460 that was published by us on a competing company
00:11:35.060 to YouTube called Rumble.
00:11:37.380 Rumble is actually based here in Canada.
00:11:39.280 It has major channels from other conservatives on it,
00:11:42.760 including Donald Trump Jr., Dan Bongino,
00:11:45.160 Dinesh D'Souza, and others.
00:11:46.440 So far, that video I mentioned from Montreal
00:11:49.780 has received more than 20,000 views on that Rumble channel.
00:11:53.920 I think it'll probably have doubled that over time.
00:11:57.000 It probably would have closer to 50,000 views on YouTube right now
00:12:00.040 and probably hit 100,000,
00:12:01.580 but seriously, that's not bad for a first effort on Rumble.
00:12:05.180 And incredibly, now that we've switched our daily live stream
00:12:07.960 from YouTube to this Rumble thing,
00:12:10.740 I noticed something else.
00:12:11.620 Like I say, we have 1.45 million YouTube subscribers,
00:12:14.560 but it always puzzled me why our typical daily live stream
00:12:18.120 only had about 1,500 people on it
00:12:20.340 or pretty much exactly 0.1%,
00:12:23.480 one in 1,000 of our subscribers.
00:12:25.760 Is it really true that people sign up for Rebel News on YouTube,
00:12:29.760 click subscribe,
00:12:31.720 get a notification about our live stream,
00:12:33.560 and really only one in 1,000 wants to watch?
00:12:36.000 Really? That doesn't sound right.
00:12:38.640 Because we've only been live streaming with Rumble for a few days,
00:12:42.140 and we have the same number of viewers.
00:12:45.980 We've got about 1,700 today,
00:12:47.360 and we only have 14,000 subscribers on Rumble now.
00:12:49.760 I think YouTube has probably been suppressing us all along.
00:12:54.400 Why not?
00:12:55.120 They've been demonetizing us
00:12:56.820 and downranking us in YouTube searches.
00:13:00.240 So what a pleasure to be on an honest platform like Rumble,
00:13:03.200 but that's not the only one.
00:13:05.060 There's another YouTube competitor out there called Odyssey,
00:13:08.560 spelt a bit differently,
00:13:09.480 and it looks a little bit like YouTube.
00:13:11.900 And we haven't properly checked out all its features yet,
00:13:13.940 but it's interesting in that it's based on blockchain technology,
00:13:16.600 which is the secret sauce behind Bitcoin
00:13:18.440 and the whole cryptocurrency movement.
00:13:20.540 That means it's pretty much impossible to detonate.
00:13:23.240 It's distributed, as they say.
00:13:25.480 It's the opposite of centralized.
00:13:27.360 So blockchain videos,
00:13:29.500 it's not all in one place.
00:13:30.760 It can be deleted easily,
00:13:32.080 and the site uses a cryptocurrency token called Library.
00:13:36.220 That's what it's called.
00:13:38.240 It's a kind of currency called Library.
00:13:39.940 It's for commerce done amongst its members.
00:13:42.700 So the site uses crypto.
00:13:45.860 So whereas on YouTube,
00:13:47.140 people can give us a tip in Canadian dollars or American dollars,
00:13:51.500 on Odyssey,
00:13:53.600 they can give us a tip in this cryptocurrency called Library.
00:13:57.780 I think it's worth 23 cents for a library token.
00:14:00.880 I'm still learning about it.
00:14:02.120 It's stretching my mind a bit.
00:14:03.380 It feels like I'm in the Matrix or something.
00:14:05.560 If I were 20 years younger,
00:14:06.580 maybe I'd understand it a bit more.
00:14:08.100 But their emphasis is on freedom,
00:14:10.440 if you didn't notice.
00:14:11.400 And there's one more thing.
00:14:12.420 The executives of both Rumble and Odyssey,
00:14:15.220 here's the neat part,
00:14:16.060 they reached out to us
00:14:17.140 to offer us their help
00:14:18.880 when they heard about YouTube's suspendings.
00:14:20.520 Can you believe that?
00:14:22.120 Talk about opposite day, right?
00:14:24.080 Instead of being beaten up and harassed by YouTube,
00:14:26.360 we were wooed and supported and encouraged.
00:14:29.080 That felt new.
00:14:29.780 And I should say there's another new video company
00:14:34.200 that's about to launch
00:14:35.420 with an explicitly anti-censorship architecture.
00:14:39.240 I'll keep you posted about that one too.
00:14:41.020 I don't want to steal their thunder.
00:14:42.740 They're going to announce it soon enough themselves.
00:14:45.380 So here we are,
00:14:47.120 the end of the week.
00:14:49.120 We're half done our YouTube jail term.
00:14:51.880 Remember, it was our first strike,
00:14:53.040 so we're being suspended for one week.
00:14:54.900 And you know what?
00:14:55.780 We're not dead.
00:14:56.440 Our videos are being watched.
00:14:59.360 Our website is very busy.
00:15:01.480 Our loyal supporters still support us.
00:15:04.320 I want to stay on YouTube
00:15:05.480 because there's no other way for us to connect
00:15:07.100 with our 1.45 million subscribers.
00:15:09.500 But then again,
00:15:10.260 as I mentioned
00:15:11.300 with the live stream statistics earlier,
00:15:13.480 maybe we're not even being allowed
00:15:14.760 to connect with our YouTube subscribers
00:15:16.420 to begin with, right?
00:15:18.080 What a joke YouTube has become.
00:15:20.060 How far they've fallen
00:15:21.060 from their former motto
00:15:22.760 of their corporate parent, Google.
00:15:24.980 You know, Google owns YouTube.
00:15:27.300 Their motto used to be,
00:15:28.680 don't be evil.
00:15:30.640 It's hard to believe
00:15:31.580 that the founder of Google
00:15:32.660 was a refugee from the Soviet Union
00:15:35.200 with all of their political censorship.
00:15:38.720 YouTube used to be about freedom,
00:15:40.260 how they've fallen, eh?
00:15:41.220 But you know what?
00:15:42.880 We get knocked down.
00:15:45.100 But we get up again.
00:15:47.020 That's what we do at Rebel News.
00:15:48.600 We never stop fighting
00:15:49.580 for free speech,
00:15:51.460 against censorship,
00:15:52.480 against cancel culture,
00:15:53.420 and for all the other things
00:15:55.400 we care about.
00:15:57.560 And that's thanks to you,
00:15:59.740 our loyal viewers.
00:16:00.660 The way it's been my position consistently
00:16:14.580 and to work with the provinces
00:16:16.640 and collaborate on their plans
00:16:18.080 to get emissions down over time
00:16:20.440 and to work on sectors
00:16:21.580 like transportation and others
00:16:23.120 where we can find more efficient,
00:16:25.200 cost-saving ways
00:16:26.200 that actually reduce emissions.
00:16:28.200 I've been talking about this
00:16:29.040 for several years.
00:16:30.260 The only candidate in this race
00:16:31.620 that has a detailed plan
00:16:32.760 on how to do it
00:16:33.500 and how to get pipelines built
00:16:35.360 and our country's economy
00:16:37.460 back on track.
00:16:38.620 So, I have the blue pen.
00:16:40.060 Yeah, absolutely.
00:16:40.700 Do the honors?
00:16:41.380 Yes, please do.
00:16:41.940 There we go.
00:16:54.380 Great.
00:16:54.780 I think we'll do this.
00:16:55.620 Okay, sure.
00:16:56.100 I can't shake your hand.
00:16:56.700 There you go.
00:16:57.500 That video of Aaron O'Toole,
00:16:59.480 the Conservative Party of Canada leaders,
00:17:01.060 signing a Taxpayers' Federation pledge
00:17:03.420 to scrap the carbon tax,
00:17:06.460 that was less than a year ago.
00:17:09.440 But, alas, yesterday O'Toole
00:17:12.700 rolled out his own carbon tax,
00:17:14.540 but it's different, you see.
00:17:15.920 He calls it a carbon levy,
00:17:17.540 so it's not the same at all.
00:17:19.040 Well, the reaction from Conservatives,
00:17:21.400 including from the Taxpayers' Federation,
00:17:23.400 is exactly what you'd predict.
00:17:24.780 There was an added twist of the knife, though.
00:17:27.680 Most Conservative MPs
00:17:29.320 did not know about this carbon levy
00:17:32.360 from their leader
00:17:33.320 until they read about it in the CBC.
00:17:36.100 You see, Aaron O'Toole leaked
00:17:37.560 his plan to the CBC,
00:17:40.820 a state broadcaster
00:17:41.700 that is actually still suing the Conservatives
00:17:44.740 before he even briefed his own MPs.
00:17:47.600 Well, one of the best pundits,
00:17:51.680 critics, and columnists in the country
00:17:54.340 is our friend Spencer Fernando,
00:17:56.660 and his column on this is just brutal.
00:17:59.520 Headline, Betrayal.
00:18:02.180 Aaron O'Toole introduces carbon tax plan,
00:18:04.260 would take your money,
00:18:05.940 put it under the control
00:18:06.800 of Bay Street-run Elitist Consortium,
00:18:09.520 and have government tell you
00:18:11.600 what you're allowed to spend it on.
00:18:13.360 That's exactly right,
00:18:14.540 and Spencer joins us now
00:18:15.920 via Skype from Winnipeg.
00:18:17.740 Spencer, great to see you.
00:18:19.180 You nailed it.
00:18:21.180 It's a tax by any other name,
00:18:22.840 but the weird part is
00:18:24.080 the money from the tax
00:18:25.800 is going to be spent
00:18:26.620 only on companies and products
00:18:28.500 that some corporate board approves of.
00:18:31.880 This is crazy.
00:18:34.440 Yeah, I almost felt like,
00:18:35.800 you know, maybe did I wake up
00:18:36.920 in April Fool's was today.
00:18:38.360 I mean, like, what's going on here?
00:18:40.360 It's basically the worst idea
00:18:43.000 you could think of
00:18:43.660 from really any party,
00:18:45.220 but especially from a Conservative party.
00:18:47.080 I mean, imagine if Jagmeet Singh
00:18:48.480 came out and said,
00:18:49.240 this is my policy, right?
00:18:50.780 This is my environmental policy.
00:18:53.120 People would say,
00:18:53.940 well, this seems like
00:18:54.680 a pretty big government approach.
00:18:55.980 I mean, you're not even trusting people
00:18:57.280 with their own money.
00:18:58.180 You're saying,
00:18:58.600 you can only spend your money
00:19:00.680 that we tax away from you
00:19:01.940 on a government approved list of items, right?
00:19:05.120 So, oh, that's pretty big government
00:19:06.680 coming from the NDP.
00:19:07.560 Oh, wait a minute.
00:19:08.060 No, that's the Conservatives doing that.
00:19:09.560 Oh, that's interesting.
00:19:11.100 So it's just, it's,
00:19:12.920 you know, it's almost,
00:19:13.960 I mean, I wrote a lot about it yesterday,
00:19:15.280 but at this point,
00:19:15.880 I'm almost at a loss for words.
00:19:17.220 I mean, it's just objectively
00:19:19.180 a horrendous idea.
00:19:20.660 And to think that O'Toole
00:19:22.060 sprung that on his own people
00:19:23.480 without telling them
00:19:24.740 and now expects them
00:19:25.540 to go back to their constituents
00:19:26.880 and party members and sell it.
00:19:28.740 I mean, that's just stupidity.
00:19:30.160 Yeah.
00:19:30.500 You know, the tax part is bad enough.
00:19:32.960 It's an attack on the resource
00:19:34.640 producing sectors of the economy
00:19:36.360 and the resource using sectors
00:19:37.780 of the economy.
00:19:38.340 I mean, a farmer can't just
00:19:40.300 stop combining his fields,
00:19:43.140 you know, 30,
00:19:43.780 you know, reduce combining
00:19:44.860 your field by 30%.
00:19:46.340 It just doesn't work that way.
00:19:47.700 But I actually think
00:19:48.820 by far the worst part of this
00:19:50.600 isn't even the tax.
00:19:52.300 It's the part that,
00:19:53.320 as you say,
00:19:53.920 the government chooses
00:19:55.900 what you can or can't
00:19:57.040 spend that levy on.
00:19:59.100 And imagine
00:20:00.240 all the lobbying,
00:20:02.360 all the corporate scheming
00:20:04.160 for, well, my product is green,
00:20:06.720 so it should be allowed
00:20:08.420 to access this massive pool
00:20:10.300 of capital.
00:20:10.980 Because basically,
00:20:12.440 you're going to have
00:20:13.000 hundreds of millions,
00:20:14.340 actually hundreds of billions
00:20:15.660 of dollars
00:20:16.400 in this green scheme
00:20:19.660 that they're comparing
00:20:20.720 to like an Air Miles loyalty card.
00:20:22.400 But you can only spend it
00:20:23.780 on the things
00:20:24.220 that are approved
00:20:24.920 by the government.
00:20:26.120 Imagine every business saying,
00:20:28.620 well, you've got to approve ours
00:20:29.780 and you can't approve
00:20:30.520 our competitors.
00:20:31.500 And it's,
00:20:33.080 and by the way,
00:20:33.680 this is all in some
00:20:34.580 electronic system,
00:20:35.720 which would have to be
00:20:36.860 as big as Amazon
00:20:37.800 to track every possible
00:20:39.960 product or service.
00:20:42.620 It's absurd.
00:20:45.180 And it could never work
00:20:47.360 practically.
00:20:48.040 But the hubris
00:20:49.780 and the government
00:20:50.900 knows best-ism of it all,
00:20:53.320 that's actually worse
00:20:54.320 than the tax part.
00:20:56.460 Yeah, if you told someone,
00:20:58.000 if you didn't,
00:20:59.060 you know,
00:20:59.380 if you told someone,
00:21:00.740 here are two climate plans
00:21:02.480 and you didn't tell them
00:21:03.720 which was from which party.
00:21:05.200 And you said one plan,
00:21:06.820 you know,
00:21:07.020 the government claims
00:21:07.720 they tax you
00:21:08.460 and then they give you
00:21:10.760 a rebate, right,
00:21:11.920 which you can spend
00:21:12.520 whatever you want.
00:21:13.860 And then the other plan,
00:21:15.180 the government taxes you
00:21:16.200 and then puts it into a fund
00:21:17.340 and says you have to pick
00:21:18.200 from only government-approved items.
00:21:20.660 You'd say,
00:21:21.080 which one of those
00:21:21.680 seems like a conservative,
00:21:23.220 you know,
00:21:23.700 more individual freedom,
00:21:25.100 you know,
00:21:25.400 choice plan
00:21:26.040 and which one sounds
00:21:26.780 like a big government
00:21:27.520 government-known-best plan,
00:21:28.720 right?
00:21:28.900 Which one is the liberal
00:21:29.740 or conservative plan?
00:21:30.960 And most people
00:21:31.520 would obviously assume
00:21:32.260 the liberal plan
00:21:33.060 was the one that tells you
00:21:34.140 what you can
00:21:34.740 and can't spend it on.
00:21:35.940 But no,
00:21:36.300 we have the situation reversed.
00:21:38.080 So the conservatives
00:21:38.780 have somehow flipped
00:21:39.740 from saying they oppose
00:21:41.800 a carbon tax at all.
00:21:43.200 to having a worse
00:21:44.320 carbon tax idea
00:21:45.180 than Justin Trudeau,
00:21:46.460 which,
00:21:46.720 and again,
00:21:47.900 you know,
00:21:48.200 I tweeted yesterday,
00:21:49.700 look for which
00:21:50.540 conservative MPs tweet,
00:21:52.880 you know,
00:21:53.480 tweet out Aaron O'Toole's
00:21:54.540 announcement
00:21:54.880 and tweet about it
00:21:55.620 and look for which one
00:21:56.820 stays silent
00:21:57.420 because I really think
00:21:58.260 that's going to tell you
00:21:59.120 what's actually happening
00:22:00.080 internally.
00:22:01.060 I don't think people
00:22:01.840 are happy.
00:22:02.400 I don't think a lot
00:22:02.960 of MPs are happy.
00:22:04.340 And I think look
00:22:05.180 for the ones who really
00:22:05.960 just can't bring themselves
00:22:07.120 to say anything about it.
00:22:08.720 Those are the ones
00:22:09.240 who I think are,
00:22:10.400 you know,
00:22:10.980 they should push back.
00:22:12.020 We'll see if they do.
00:22:12.600 Yeah,
00:22:13.120 you're so right.
00:22:14.040 You know,
00:22:14.400 I will name one name,
00:22:15.940 Garnet Genuis,
00:22:17.120 who's a young MP
00:22:18.160 from Northern Alberta.
00:22:19.320 He really is in the heart
00:22:20.720 of the oil patch.
00:22:21.520 I know him a little bit
00:22:22.600 and I know his district
00:22:24.400 a little bit.
00:22:25.440 It really is oil
00:22:27.460 and agriculture,
00:22:29.600 both of which
00:22:30.480 are energy intensive.
00:22:31.900 And I know
00:22:32.680 that his constituents
00:22:34.180 would be massively
00:22:35.740 against this.
00:22:36.420 they are.
00:22:37.540 To see him go out
00:22:39.340 and burn up his credibility
00:22:41.220 in support of a plan
00:22:42.300 that will be rejected
00:22:44.760 by voters,
00:22:45.760 that will never come
00:22:46.940 to fruition,
00:22:47.540 but he's willing
00:22:48.200 to toot the horn
00:22:50.100 of this awful idea
00:22:51.180 just to please
00:22:52.080 a Conservative Party leader
00:22:53.600 who will never be
00:22:54.220 Prime Minister,
00:22:56.380 a Conservative Party leader
00:22:57.460 who surprised him
00:22:58.600 that he would take
00:23:00.580 that script and read it,
00:23:01.420 I find deeply disappointing.
00:23:02.720 Where are the oil patch champions?
00:23:05.380 Surely,
00:23:06.520 they ought to be raging
00:23:07.500 behind closed doors.
00:23:08.740 I don't propose
00:23:09.880 that the party
00:23:10.360 have a full-scale
00:23:11.180 public airing
00:23:12.700 of the laundry.
00:23:13.740 I don't think
00:23:14.680 they should have
00:23:15.100 a public civil war,
00:23:16.160 but if they are not
00:23:17.180 within the party
00:23:18.180 saying this can't proceed,
00:23:21.060 then they all deserve
00:23:22.020 to go down
00:23:23.020 with the ship, frankly.
00:23:24.140 I don't think
00:23:24.700 Aaron O'Toole
00:23:25.220 has a chance
00:23:25.880 of being Prime Minister.
00:23:27.340 The craziest thing
00:23:28.340 is he's emphasizing this,
00:23:30.220 instead of winning issues
00:23:31.560 in this crazy pandemic
00:23:32.760 time we're in.
00:23:35.020 Yeah, one thing
00:23:35.820 I also said yesterday
00:23:36.700 was, you know,
00:23:37.460 you look at these MPs
00:23:38.600 who, they have
00:23:39.160 the sprung on them.
00:23:40.040 So, first of all,
00:23:41.040 that's complete arrogance
00:23:42.600 and a lack of respect
00:23:43.960 for his colleagues
00:23:45.000 by Aaron O'Toole, right,
00:23:46.080 to just, and, you know,
00:23:47.200 after running on,
00:23:48.100 oh, I'm going to cut
00:23:48.760 CBC funding,
00:23:50.040 blah, blah, blah,
00:23:50.660 independent media,
00:23:51.700 I totally support it,
00:23:52.860 and then he leaks it,
00:23:53.780 they leak it to the CBC
00:23:54.820 and he doesn't even
00:23:55.480 tell his own people.
00:23:56.320 I mean, that's disgraceful.
00:23:58.020 And so then,
00:23:58.640 you expect them to go
00:23:59.460 out and sell it
00:24:00.040 because for the MPs,
00:24:01.800 they have to have
00:24:02.340 some self-respect, right?
00:24:03.600 You're supposed to
00:24:04.520 go to Canadians
00:24:05.240 and say,
00:24:05.560 I'm going to stand up for you,
00:24:06.420 I'm going to, you know,
00:24:07.100 govern in your interest,
00:24:08.360 I'm going to do
00:24:08.760 what's best for Canadians.
00:24:10.160 Why would you trust someone
00:24:11.120 who can't even stand up
00:24:12.060 for themselves, right?
00:24:12.960 If they have no self-respect
00:24:13.980 for themselves,
00:24:15.020 they're not willing
00:24:15.480 to push back on someone
00:24:16.520 who really has treated them
00:24:17.460 like absolute garbage,
00:24:18.800 and then they go
00:24:19.320 to the Canadian people
00:24:20.140 and say,
00:24:20.460 oh, we're going to stand up for you?
00:24:21.640 Yeah, well,
00:24:22.100 why would anyone believe in him?
00:24:23.560 So there has to be
00:24:24.660 some pushback.
00:24:25.400 They have to do something
00:24:26.120 about this
00:24:26.620 because otherwise
00:24:27.920 they just look weak
00:24:28.880 and really pathetic
00:24:29.540 if they don't.
00:24:30.520 Yeah.
00:24:31.000 You know,
00:24:31.540 what boggles my mind
00:24:32.760 is that the whole
00:24:33.880 global warming issue
00:24:34.800 is so low
00:24:35.840 on the agenda
00:24:37.360 of any Canadians,
00:24:39.440 and I don't say that
00:24:40.280 just based on a hunch
00:24:41.780 or what I want to be the case.
00:24:43.480 A few weeks ago,
00:24:44.080 we showed a PCO,
00:24:45.760 a Privy Council Office poll,
00:24:47.740 that was commissioned
00:24:48.440 just for Trudeau
00:24:49.480 that showed
00:24:50.460 what the hot issues were,
00:24:52.240 and global warming,
00:24:53.580 climate change,
00:24:54.160 whatever you want to call it,
00:24:54.980 it would fluctuate
00:24:57.360 between 3% and 6%.
00:24:59.180 So 94% to 97%
00:25:02.740 of Canadians
00:25:03.340 have something else
00:25:04.920 on their mind right now.
00:25:06.260 The pandemic,
00:25:07.180 unemployment,
00:25:07.980 the lockdown,
00:25:08.780 civil liberties,
00:25:09.640 cancel culture,
00:25:10.900 China crisis,
00:25:12.300 U.S. border being closed,
00:25:14.440 quarantine,
00:25:15.200 whatever it is,
00:25:17.220 94% to 97%
00:25:20.280 of Canadians
00:25:20.660 are elsewhere.
00:25:21.740 And by the way,
00:25:22.400 those 3% to 6%,
00:25:23.480 they're not really ready
00:25:24.880 to stampede over
00:25:25.800 to Aaron O'Toole.
00:25:26.880 I can't believe
00:25:27.940 he keeps on coming back
00:25:29.780 to global warming.
00:25:31.180 That's all he seems
00:25:32.100 to want to talk about
00:25:33.200 instead of these other
00:25:34.700 crises in the country.
00:25:36.340 I don't get it.
00:25:38.200 Yeah, and look at
00:25:38.660 the timing of it too.
00:25:39.680 I mean, you just had
00:25:40.640 Justin Trudeau
00:25:41.460 being ripped to shreds
00:25:43.100 by international media,
00:25:44.340 which seems to be
00:25:45.160 the only way that many
00:25:46.080 Canadians actually pay
00:25:46.980 attention to what's happening
00:25:47.900 with things going wrong
00:25:49.160 in Canada
00:25:49.620 is to see the U.S.
00:25:50.560 talk about it first,
00:25:51.500 which is obviously
00:25:52.060 disappointing.
00:25:53.440 But yeah,
00:25:54.180 he was getting ripped
00:25:55.120 to shreds.
00:25:55.680 His incompetence
00:25:56.340 was being revealed everywhere.
00:25:57.320 I mean,
00:25:57.460 it was a horrific news cycle
00:25:58.960 for him.
00:25:59.340 This week was turning
00:25:59.980 out terrible.
00:26:01.020 And then O'Toole says,
00:26:01.840 you know,
00:26:02.060 I'll help you out, buddy.
00:26:03.380 I'll go screw myself
00:26:04.760 over and do a big announcement,
00:26:06.360 draw all the attention
00:26:07.340 into myself
00:26:08.620 and look like a total fool
00:26:09.940 and start splitting my party.
00:26:11.560 So there you go,
00:26:12.200 Justin,
00:26:12.540 big help for you.
00:26:13.680 So, you know,
00:26:15.120 there's people in that party
00:26:16.260 who are getting paid
00:26:16.940 a lot of money
00:26:17.440 to be strategists.
00:26:18.440 And I wonder,
00:26:19.320 you know,
00:26:19.560 are they just a bunch
00:26:20.280 of clowns and idiots?
00:26:21.340 I mean,
00:26:21.500 what are they doing?
00:26:22.640 What do they wake up
00:26:23.780 in the morning,
00:26:24.260 go to work?
00:26:24.940 What exactly are they
00:26:25.640 doing every day?
00:26:26.460 I mean,
00:26:26.760 they seem completely
00:26:27.640 incompetent.
00:26:28.400 And it's,
00:26:29.180 you know,
00:26:30.360 as you said,
00:26:31.080 you know,
00:26:31.280 people who are really
00:26:32.440 concerned about that issue
00:26:33.440 the most are probably
00:26:34.620 not voting conservative
00:26:35.520 in the first place.
00:26:36.280 and then people who are
00:26:38.120 kind of in the middle.
00:26:39.000 Yeah,
00:26:39.180 it's a concern
00:26:40.000 for a lot of people,
00:26:40.760 but not the biggest one.
00:26:42.260 Well,
00:26:42.660 the liberals are going
00:26:43.340 to be able to say,
00:26:44.020 hey,
00:26:44.240 I mean,
00:26:44.520 Aaron O'Toole's going
00:26:45.140 to take away your rebates
00:26:46.180 and he's going
00:26:46.580 to put your money
00:26:47.280 under control
00:26:48.260 of a bunch of,
00:26:48.940 you know,
00:26:49.380 big banks.
00:26:50.000 How do you like that idea?
00:26:50.980 It's just,
00:26:51.480 it's such an easy idea
00:26:52.720 to attack.
00:26:53.980 Yeah.
00:26:54.280 And the liberal plan,
00:26:55.380 I don't like the liberal plan,
00:26:56.540 but it's much easier
00:26:57.180 to explain,
00:26:57.960 right?
00:26:58.180 Yeah.
00:26:58.540 Yeah,
00:26:58.720 it's just a tax grab.
00:26:59.960 I mean,
00:27:00.440 it's not great,
00:27:02.340 but all it is
00:27:03.000 is they're taking more money.
00:27:03.940 Well,
00:27:04.500 that's what all politicians
00:27:05.500 do with this wacky,
00:27:07.160 I call it a government Amazon
00:27:08.920 because they talk about
00:27:11.440 having it like a loyalty card
00:27:13.100 and menus
00:27:13.920 and discounts
00:27:15.200 and special deals.
00:27:16.400 Like that's actually
00:27:16.940 in the conservative party
00:27:18.400 briefing notes,
00:27:19.240 special deals.
00:27:21.000 And the thing is,
00:27:22.260 you're forced to buy
00:27:23.700 from this government Amazon thing.
00:27:25.740 I mean,
00:27:25.880 just think of the questions.
00:27:26.840 Where's the data
00:27:27.420 going to be stored?
00:27:28.340 What's the privacy of the data?
00:27:30.660 Who will track
00:27:31.780 every single thing
00:27:32.580 you buy and sell?
00:27:34.940 I had an idea.
00:27:35.920 I mean,
00:27:36.340 if there's something
00:27:36.940 like a bicycle
00:27:38.340 that's considered
00:27:39.900 carbon friendly,
00:27:40.840 even though I know
00:27:41.400 steel has to be made
00:27:42.820 by coal,
00:27:43.880 can you buy that
00:27:45.000 to use up
00:27:46.680 your carbon levy funds
00:27:48.620 but then take it right back
00:27:50.100 and get a refund?
00:27:50.960 There's so many
00:27:51.540 little practical details.
00:27:53.440 I can't believe...
00:27:54.280 Hey,
00:27:54.600 let me throw...
00:27:55.320 Sorry,
00:27:55.560 you go ahead.
00:27:56.040 You had a reaction to that.
00:27:56.920 Go ahead.
00:27:57.980 No,
00:27:58.280 I'm just...
00:27:58.680 This is the problem,
00:28:00.120 right?
00:28:00.340 I mean,
00:28:00.660 what they say in politics
00:28:01.660 is if you're
00:28:02.300 explaining,
00:28:02.880 you're losing,
00:28:03.440 right?
00:28:04.020 So,
00:28:05.020 again,
00:28:05.520 for the liberals,
00:28:06.820 you don't have to like
00:28:07.540 their plan.
00:28:08.020 I don't like it at all.
00:28:08.840 I don't think we need
00:28:09.440 a carbon tax at all.
00:28:10.800 But from a purely PR perspective,
00:28:12.660 the liberals get to say,
00:28:14.240 we tax you,
00:28:15.720 we impose the carbon tax
00:28:17.600 and then we give you
00:28:18.280 all your money back.
00:28:19.200 They don't actually
00:28:19.720 give all the money back,
00:28:20.580 but,
00:28:21.040 you know,
00:28:21.240 they say it
00:28:21.780 and it's easy to explain.
00:28:23.220 The conservative plan is,
00:28:24.700 I mean,
00:28:24.940 look,
00:28:25.160 you just made like
00:28:25.840 a few jokes about it there.
00:28:27.240 People on Twitter
00:28:28.840 are making fun of it.
00:28:29.860 It's just easy
00:28:30.380 to rip to shreds.
00:28:31.460 It's tough to explain.
00:28:33.420 So it's just,
00:28:34.480 it's going to piss off
00:28:36.000 his core supporters.
00:28:37.000 It clearly is.
00:28:37.740 It's going to piss off
00:28:38.500 the base.
00:28:38.940 It's going to piss off
00:28:39.580 the West.
00:28:40.400 And then it's a worse plan
00:28:41.540 than Trudeau,
00:28:42.680 right?
00:28:42.820 So you go to the East
00:28:43.600 and say,
00:28:43.940 oh,
00:28:44.020 we've got a great
00:28:44.600 climate plan.
00:28:45.540 Well,
00:28:45.700 they're like,
00:28:46.040 no,
00:28:46.260 it's a trash plan
00:28:47.320 and we'll just stick
00:28:47.980 with the liberal ones.
00:28:48.760 So,
00:28:49.200 again,
00:28:49.540 it's just,
00:28:49.980 it's absurd
00:28:50.480 and he's so drawn
00:28:51.640 into whatever the
00:28:53.120 establishment media
00:28:53.860 is talking about,
00:28:54.640 right?
00:28:55.020 It's just,
00:28:55.520 it's totally obsessed
00:28:56.600 with the narrative
00:28:57.220 the liberals are pushing.
00:28:58.700 It's always defensive.
00:28:59.760 It's always reactionary.
00:29:00.880 No creativity.
00:29:02.180 No outside the box thinking.
00:29:03.460 No way to try to get
00:29:04.220 the media cycle
00:29:05.000 on his side
00:29:06.060 or on the conservative issues.
00:29:07.540 And it's just,
00:29:08.120 it's pure incompetence
00:29:09.300 at this point.
00:29:09.960 Yeah.
00:29:10.160 You know,
00:29:11.000 I saw one of those
00:29:11.980 strategists you're referring
00:29:13.120 to,
00:29:13.500 Dan Robertson,
00:29:14.120 on Twitter today
00:29:14.760 saying,
00:29:15.740 well,
00:29:16.160 the Harper plan
00:29:17.040 that won in 2006,
00:29:18.380 2008,
00:29:18.840 2009 just doesn't
00:29:20.360 work anymore.
00:29:21.260 But I was thinking,
00:29:22.080 well,
00:29:22.160 hang on.
00:29:23.440 Doug Ford,
00:29:24.260 even though I have
00:29:24.760 a lot of criticisms
00:29:25.560 of him for his
00:29:26.680 pandemic handling,
00:29:28.380 he specifically ran
00:29:29.720 against the carbon tax
00:29:30.760 and he won.
00:29:31.940 And so did the,
00:29:33.120 the premier to the
00:29:34.280 west of him,
00:29:35.420 Brian Pallister,
00:29:36.180 and so did the premier
00:29:36.860 to the west of,
00:29:37.560 I think he's against
00:29:38.340 carbon tax.
00:29:38.840 You know,
00:29:39.040 you know better,
00:29:39.660 correct me if I'm
00:29:40.140 wrong because you're
00:29:41.000 in Winnipeg.
00:29:41.660 Scott Moe of Saskatchewan,
00:29:43.700 strong against the
00:29:44.560 carbon tax.
00:29:45.080 Jason Kenney,
00:29:45.940 again,
00:29:46.300 despite all his flaws,
00:29:47.260 against the carbon tax.
00:29:48.360 So those are four
00:29:49.820 conservative premiers
00:29:51.520 who won.
00:29:52.680 And I know that
00:29:53.480 the Atlantic premiers
00:29:54.700 and the northern
00:29:55.420 premiers had their
00:29:56.380 objections to the
00:29:58.580 carbon tax
00:29:59.280 on jurisdictional
00:30:00.340 grounds too.
00:30:02.020 I think he's trying
00:30:03.320 to,
00:30:04.480 I think he's losing
00:30:05.300 courage.
00:30:06.260 I don't know.
00:30:06.820 I don't think you
00:30:08.320 have to sign on
00:30:09.940 to the number
00:30:10.500 one liberal
00:30:11.180 idea of our
00:30:12.100 generation.
00:30:13.160 I don't think
00:30:13.620 you have to sign
00:30:14.200 on to that to win
00:30:14.880 as a conservative.
00:30:15.500 In fact,
00:30:15.740 as you described,
00:30:16.740 you demoralize
00:30:17.660 your base and
00:30:18.200 you excite
00:30:18.620 your opponents.
00:30:19.340 Last word to you,
00:30:20.080 Spencer.
00:30:21.740 Yeah,
00:30:22.120 I just,
00:30:22.460 it comes down
00:30:23.000 to a question
00:30:23.440 of trust,
00:30:23.960 right?
00:30:24.160 I mean,
00:30:24.580 you know,
00:30:25.140 I see old
00:30:25.640 tool defenders
00:30:26.220 trying to talk
00:30:26.840 in a bunch of,
00:30:27.400 you know,
00:30:27.540 use a bunch
00:30:28.020 of creative words
00:30:28.860 and try to talk
00:30:29.580 in circles around.
00:30:30.540 He lied to people,
00:30:31.460 let's just be honest.
00:30:32.080 He lied to everybody.
00:30:33.000 He lied to the
00:30:33.520 conservative party,
00:30:34.800 the Canadian
00:30:35.180 Taxpayers
00:30:35.680 Federation,
00:30:36.400 you know,
00:30:39.940 going to say,
00:30:40.620 you know,
00:30:40.980 I'm going to stand
00:30:41.880 up for,
00:30:42.420 you know,
00:30:42.660 gun-owning Canadians.
00:30:43.860 Okay,
00:30:44.040 why would they
00:30:44.700 trust him at this point?
00:30:45.620 I mean,
00:30:46.320 is there going to be
00:30:46.860 a bad story
00:30:47.520 in the news
00:30:48.020 that makes the liberals,
00:30:49.060 you know,
00:30:49.280 feel confident
00:30:49.920 about taking
00:30:51.040 more guns away
00:30:51.760 and then a tool
00:30:52.340 is going to be like,
00:30:53.020 oh man,
00:30:53.460 I'm kind of scared
00:30:54.260 the narrative
00:30:54.740 is not going well
00:30:55.520 for me.
00:30:55.880 So maybe I'll
00:30:56.420 change my mind
00:30:57.080 on this one.
00:30:58.140 And then what
00:30:58.760 other issue,
00:30:59.340 right?
00:30:59.480 Oh,
00:30:59.620 deficit spending,
00:31:00.320 he already says
00:31:00.700 it's not going
00:31:01.180 to balance the budget
00:31:01.900 for 10 years.
00:31:03.800 You know,
00:31:04.000 tax cuts,
00:31:04.640 well,
00:31:04.740 he's not talking
00:31:05.240 much about tax cuts,
00:31:06.220 is he?
00:31:06.840 So why would anyone,
00:31:09.020 you know,
00:31:09.420 in the Conservative Party
00:31:10.200 believe him
00:31:10.740 on other Conservative issues?
00:31:11.880 And then for the Canadian people,
00:31:13.660 the liberals are going
00:31:14.400 to have a very easy time
00:31:15.560 saying,
00:31:16.020 you know,
00:31:16.200 Aaron O'Toole
00:31:16.700 lied to his own people.
00:31:18.380 So why would you
00:31:19.440 trust him,
00:31:19.960 right?
00:31:20.120 I mean,
00:31:20.400 there's no reason
00:31:21.060 to trust him
00:31:21.660 on any of the flips
00:31:22.720 back and forth now
00:31:23.520 because what,
00:31:24.040 just wait a week,
00:31:24.660 maybe he'll change
00:31:25.240 his position again.
00:31:26.480 So,
00:31:26.960 you know,
00:31:27.240 people don't trust
00:31:28.040 politicians already,
00:31:29.060 but if you really
00:31:29.580 go out of your way
00:31:30.140 to lie blatantly
00:31:30.920 to people
00:31:31.380 in such an obvious way,
00:31:32.560 then it makes it
00:31:33.420 even worse for me.
00:31:34.300 I know O'Toole,
00:31:34.800 I think,
00:31:35.080 is really destroying
00:31:36.180 his reputation.
00:31:37.360 Yeah,
00:31:37.500 it's very sad,
00:31:38.380 very sad.
00:31:38.940 I'm afraid he's going
00:31:39.540 to hand the election
00:31:40.980 to Trudeau again.
00:31:41.780 Spencer Fernando,
00:31:42.560 great to talk with you.
00:31:43.440 Thanks for your time today.
00:31:45.140 You're welcome.
00:31:45.720 All right,
00:31:46.020 there you have it.
00:31:47.020 SpencerFernando.com
00:31:47.900 is the website.
00:31:48.760 You've got to follow it.
00:31:50.100 You've got to sign up
00:31:50.740 for the email updates
00:31:51.660 and of course,
00:31:52.140 if you're on Twitter,
00:31:53.240 follow Spencer there.
00:31:54.560 Stay with us.
00:31:55.120 More ahead.
00:32:03.420 Instead of reading
00:32:08.460 your letters
00:32:08.920 and I appreciate
00:32:09.500 your letters,
00:32:10.000 I want to go directly
00:32:11.020 to the 30-minute
00:32:12.940 masterpiece
00:32:13.520 that our editors
00:32:14.360 put together
00:32:14.960 about our experience
00:32:15.800 in Montreal.
00:32:17.180 This video,
00:32:18.020 I would have liked
00:32:18.580 to have put on YouTube
00:32:19.360 and sent to our
00:32:20.160 1.45 million subscribers
00:32:22.680 there,
00:32:22.900 but we put it on Rumble
00:32:23.760 and it's doing pretty well
00:32:24.720 and I want you
00:32:25.220 to see it directly.
00:32:26.660 I say again,
00:32:27.620 I get pretty angry in here.
00:32:28.800 I use a swear.
00:32:29.840 There's a couple
00:32:30.300 other people swearing.
00:32:31.500 Most of the swearing
00:32:32.220 is done by bystanders
00:32:33.280 though,
00:32:33.940 who are so mad
00:32:34.580 at the way we were treated.
00:32:35.480 It's incredible.
00:32:35.980 We said some rough things
00:32:37.500 about the Montreal police.
00:32:38.600 I called them oath breakers.
00:32:40.460 They were violent with us.
00:32:41.680 I called them thugs.
00:32:43.840 I said they were cowards
00:32:45.380 and of course,
00:32:46.360 they keep calling us Jew
00:32:47.800 or Jew media
00:32:48.640 so I called them bigots.
00:32:50.120 That's rough words for me
00:32:51.060 but I can assure you
00:32:51.980 the bystanders,
00:32:53.520 Montreal citizens,
00:32:54.840 the words they had
00:32:55.940 for their own police force
00:32:57.040 were twice as sharp.
00:32:58.420 I don't think
00:32:58.940 the Montreal police force
00:33:00.120 has the respect
00:33:01.060 or support
00:33:01.540 of their own citizens
00:33:02.380 and this video
00:33:03.300 will show you why.
00:33:04.740 Anyways,
00:33:05.180 let me close with that.
00:33:06.120 Thank you so much
00:33:06.820 for your support.
00:33:07.760 The rebel will live on.
00:33:08.780 We will be strong
00:33:09.580 whether it's the Montreal police
00:33:10.860 or the YouTube coming for us.
00:33:12.620 We will live.
00:33:13.940 Here's the video.
00:33:21.020 Come back with a warrant.
00:33:22.260 And close the door
00:33:27.340 and close the door
00:33:27.360 for God's sakes.
00:33:28.840 Show some manners.
00:33:35.900 I need somebody
00:33:36.920 to be responsible
00:33:37.680 for the boat.
00:33:38.440 I don't...
00:33:38.940 Yeah, you have him over there.
00:33:40.380 Go get a warrant.
00:33:41.480 Yep, yep, yep.
00:33:42.600 Go get a warrant.
00:33:44.160 No, I need my medicine.
00:33:45.100 Okay, go with your friend now.
00:33:46.620 Why are you pushing me?
00:33:47.960 Why are you pushing me?
00:33:48.980 I'm not pushing you.
00:33:50.260 Go, sir.
00:33:52.500 Go, sir, please.
00:33:53.460 Go, sir, please.
00:33:53.500 Hey, you don't touch your feet.
00:33:56.360 Take your fist back.
00:33:57.580 Hey, hey, hey.
00:33:58.200 You want to get in?
00:34:00.580 Change, change, change, change, change.
00:34:03.960 They will taser you.
00:34:06.200 They have already arrested
00:34:07.540 one of our reporters
00:34:08.680 after physically assaulting him.
00:34:11.280 This is the police brutality
00:34:13.740 who have come here
00:34:15.640 to observe.
00:34:17.100 And here they come.
00:34:18.760 Crooked cops.
00:34:20.160 Correct cops.
00:34:20.740 You're pushing me
00:34:21.700 with a bicycle.
00:34:22.400 Watch your fucking bike, guys.
00:34:23.540 Are you kidding me?
00:34:24.580 Watch your fucking bike.
00:34:25.220 Hey!
00:34:25.960 Watch your fucking bike,
00:34:28.340 watch your fucking bike,
00:34:28.460 watch your fucking bike.
00:34:29.340 Woo!
00:34:30.300 This battle will take us
00:34:31.800 years to fix.
00:34:33.100 What the police did to us today
00:34:34.860 must see its day in court.
00:34:37.800 I'll be there.
00:34:38.560 If you can give us the tools,
00:34:39.800 we'll do the job.
00:34:40.400 Please go to
00:34:41.020 lockdownreports.com.
00:34:45.860 Ezra Levant here in Montreal.
00:34:47.840 You can see behind me
00:34:49.100 literally dozens of police vehicles
00:34:52.700 as well as police on bicycles.
00:34:55.860 Probably a hundred police officers
00:34:58.260 are mustering in advance
00:35:00.640 of the anti-lockdown rally
00:35:02.780 that's set to begin
00:35:03.720 in about an hour and a half.
00:35:05.780 It'll be interesting to see
00:35:07.120 if they have the same police brutality
00:35:09.000 that we've seen in recent weeks
00:35:10.820 from the SPVM,
00:35:12.780 that's the Montreal Police.
00:35:14.360 It'll also be interesting
00:35:15.520 to see how they treat
00:35:16.460 our reporters.
00:35:17.880 In the past,
00:35:18.560 they've assaulted,
00:35:19.920 arrested,
00:35:20.360 and even handcuffed
00:35:21.380 our reporters
00:35:21.980 for the crime
00:35:24.160 of reporting on their
00:35:25.500 lockdown suppression.
00:35:27.100 We'll see
00:35:28.240 and we'll have more
00:35:29.000 for you
00:35:29.500 at lockdownreports.com.
00:35:31.620 everyone here.
00:35:40.700 What's your Name and Badge number?
00:35:42.420 Say...
00:35:42.900 What's your Name and Badge number?
00:35:45.460 Say the...
00:35:46.120 Thank you.
00:35:47.680 Name and Badge number?
00:35:48.840 Cassette system...
00:35:49.920 Name and Badge number?
00:35:52.080 Yes, this is the border.
00:35:53.620 Name and Badge number?
00:35:55.180 We have a bank, 7-8-95.
00:35:56.860 Name and badge number
00:35:59.780 Come back with a warrant
00:36:04.860 And close the door for God's sakes show some manners
00:36:26.860 Get your hand off of me, it's a sword
00:36:28.860 Get your hand off of me
00:36:30.860 That's our breakfast
00:36:32.860 And you'll stand down or I'll see you
00:36:33.860 Where are you trying to get our breakfast?
00:36:35.860 My name is David Menzies, I'm Rebel News
00:36:37.860 What is your name and your badge number?
00:36:39.860 I told you mine
00:36:41.860 Give me the breakfast or you'll be stupid
00:36:44.860 What is the meaning of this?
00:36:47.860 We're on our premises
00:36:51.860 Is there any responsible on that boat?
00:36:54.860 Nobody?
00:36:55.860 If nobody is responsible for that boat
00:36:58.860 I have the right to come in the premises
00:37:00.860 I need somebody to be responsible for the boat
00:37:03.860 I don't
00:37:04.860 Yeah, you have him over there
00:37:05.860 Go get a warrant
00:37:06.860 Go get a warrant
00:37:08.860 Get a warrant
00:37:10.860 Yes, I have a right to be here
00:37:12.860 Go get a warrant now
00:37:14.860 Go get a warrant
00:37:15.860 You're not gonna get in without a warrant
00:37:16.860 Sir, how do you spell it?
00:37:18.860 E
00:37:19.860 Z
00:37:21.860 R
00:37:23.860 A
00:37:24.860 And your last name is?
00:37:26.860 L
00:37:27.860 E
00:37:28.860 V
00:37:29.860 A
00:37:31.860 N
00:37:32.860 T
00:37:34.860 T
00:37:35.860 T?
00:37:36.860 The last letter is a T?
00:37:37.860 That's right
00:37:38.860 That's right
00:37:39.860 But you will know me as plaintiff for suing you for assaults and false arrest
00:37:46.860 And Montagna, what's your badge number please?
00:37:49.860 All right, Moko, want to give a quick update to the viewers?
00:37:52.860 Yes, so here we are
00:37:54.860 We are
00:37:55.860 And
00:37:56.860 We are in
00:37:57.860 Quebec
00:37:58.860 Montreal
00:37:59.860 We are here to cover the Montreal protest
00:38:01.860 And we rented this Airbnb
00:38:03.860 Because we are here 17 people
00:38:05.860 It's a big crew
00:38:06.860 We did night curfew reporting
00:38:08.860 And now we are gonna do
00:38:09.860 Montreal reporting
00:38:10.860 The police officers are sent here
00:38:12.860 There were at least 40 police cops right there
00:38:15.860 And now they came here
00:38:16.860 They put Keen in handcuffs behind a police car
00:38:19.860 They are dealing with David right now
00:38:22.860 Ezra has been manhandled
00:38:24.860 He's over there
00:38:25.860 They won't let us have our breakfast
00:38:27.860 Our door is locked
00:38:28.860 They don't have a warrant
00:38:29.860 They still wanna
00:38:30.860 They are trying to pull a
00:38:32.860 Jedi mind tricks on us
00:38:34.860 Saying, oh, if there's nobody responsible in the boat
00:38:37.860 We will just enter
00:38:38.860 Which is bullshit
00:38:39.860 We have seen them before many times brutalizing citizens
00:38:44.860 They are dangerous people
00:38:46.860 They are tugs with badges
00:38:47.860 Tugs with weapons
00:38:48.860 So we have to stay vigilant
00:38:51.860 We have to record every movement they make
00:38:53.860 Each individual officer is going to be sued
00:38:58.860 We have captured them
00:39:00.860 Okay, we see Keen
00:39:01.860 He's making the peace
00:39:03.860 Keen's unarrested now, hands-free
00:39:05.860 There's our team member behind him
00:39:07.860 No reason for him to be in handcuffs
00:39:10.860 Anyways
00:39:11.860 He wasn't violent
00:39:12.860 They took him
00:39:13.860 He walked with them
00:39:14.860 And then they
00:39:16.860 They basically slammed him towards the police car
00:39:18.860 Four police officers
00:39:19.860 For no reason
00:39:21.860 He's not a violent man
00:39:22.860 None of us are violent here
00:39:24.860 But the only violence is being inflicted by the police officers here today
00:39:28.860 By Quebec
00:39:29.860 By Montreal police officers
00:39:31.860 And you can see the little convoy coming up on the second floor over there
00:39:34.860 Yeah, they can bring as much as men
00:39:36.860 They want
00:39:37.860 The more the merrier
00:39:39.860 That they are going to get sued
00:39:41.860 Of course
00:39:45.860 These intimidation tactics
00:39:47.860 These illegal acts
00:39:48.860 By the
00:39:49.860 Tugs with badges
00:39:51.860 Are not going to deter us from our mission
00:39:53.860 To report the truth
00:39:54.860 Wherever it is
00:39:56.860 We will be there
00:39:57.860 Quebec
00:39:58.860 Alberta
00:39:59.860 Ontario
00:40:00.860 British Columbia
00:40:01.860 Yukon
00:40:02.860 Wherever it is
00:40:03.860 You can go back on the boat right now
00:40:08.860 Okay, so
00:40:09.860 You're going to ask me to wait there
00:40:11.860 Or I can go back on the boat
00:40:12.860 No, you can't go back on the boat
00:40:13.860 And why is that?
00:40:14.860 Because there's an intervention
00:40:16.860 And some investigators are in the case right now for the next thing that will happen
00:40:22.860 So right now you cannot go back on the boat
00:40:24.860 You can take your breakfast if you want
00:40:26.860 You can eat the breakfast there
00:40:28.860 Or on the bench
00:40:30.860 Well, I need to get my medicine on the boat
00:40:33.860 Are you saying I can't get my medicine?
00:40:35.860 What is your medicine?
00:40:36.860 You think I'm going to goddamn tell you my medicine?
00:40:38.860 Who the hell do you think you are?
00:40:40.860 Somebody can fetch the medicine for you, sir
00:40:43.860 No, they can't
00:40:44.860 Okay
00:40:50.860 I'm going to get my medicine
00:40:52.860 I'm going to get my medicine on the boat
00:40:54.860 You're going to go with the police officer if you want to go
00:40:56.860 You're not
00:40:57.860 You need a search warrant
00:40:58.860 You need a warrant
00:40:59.860 I need a search warrant
00:41:00.860 I will get a warrant
00:41:01.860 I'm trying
00:41:02.860 I'm getting a warrant
00:41:03.860 If you want to get inside, you go with the police officer
00:41:06.860 I'm going to get my medicine
00:41:07.860 With the police officer
00:41:08.860 The police officer will not see my medicine
00:41:10.860 Okay, no problem, you don't go
00:41:11.860 What's your name?
00:41:12.860 You need an ambulance?
00:41:13.860 You need an ambulance?
00:41:14.860 No, I need my medicine
00:41:16.860 Okay, go with your friend now
00:41:17.860 Go
00:41:18.860 Why are you pushing me?
00:41:19.860 Go please
00:41:20.860 Why are you pushing me?
00:41:21.860 I'm not pushing you
00:41:22.860 You're pushing me with your hand, you're assaulting me
00:41:23.860 No, go this way, sir
00:41:24.860 Everything is filmed
00:41:25.860 Okay?
00:41:26.860 It's not filmed
00:41:27.860 Go
00:41:28.860 Go, sir
00:41:31.860 Go, sir, please
00:41:32.860 Thank you
00:41:35.860 Let them be
00:41:36.860 What the hell is that for?
00:41:38.860 You know, officer
00:41:39.860 Ten years ago
00:41:40.860 I was at the demilitarized zone in Korea
00:41:42.860 This is
00:41:43.860 I'm getting a real North Korean vibe here
00:41:45.860 I just wonder if you guys are proud of yourselves
00:41:47.860 Putting up your little bicycles like a wall
00:41:50.860 Unbelievable
00:41:51.860 And you can see here just standing by waiting to get inside entry for some reason
00:41:59.860 Presumably to detain and arrest all of us, but we'll keep going live
00:42:04.860 So there's our videographer being harassed by the local law enforcement
00:42:09.860 You know, despite this being a private parking
00:42:12.860 Don't touch our camera
00:42:14.860 Don't touch our camera
00:42:15.860 That the Montreal police really hate it when you record their unjust conducts
00:42:24.860 Look at that
00:42:25.860 He's getting in his face
00:42:30.860 And that's one of our cameramen
00:42:31.860 Just for the viewers, man
00:42:32.860 Just so you guys know
00:42:33.860 Do you guys know?
00:42:43.860 They're escalating the situation to have something to do.
00:42:49.860 So you guys literally just saw that shoving our camera guy.
00:42:52.860 Hands off our guy!
00:42:56.860 Hey, tell your officer to get their hands off our guy!
00:43:03.860 So we're being siphoned off here.
00:43:06.860 Yellow tape, cautioned.
00:43:11.860 Lock is off to keep us in a little makeshift jail because we're such dangerous people.
00:43:17.860 Reporting.
00:43:18.860 So currently our people are in a makeshift jail.
00:43:34.860 Don't they know walls don't work?
00:43:36.860 But let me tell you what I told these thugs earlier today.
00:43:40.860 They asked me my name and I told them my name.
00:43:44.860 And I asked them their names and they told me their names.
00:43:47.860 And I said we are going to get to know you intimately.
00:43:51.860 Because we are going to sue you forever!
00:43:57.860 We are going to sue these thugs forever!
00:44:02.860 For assault.
00:44:04.860 For false imprisonment.
00:44:06.860 For abuse of office.
00:44:08.860 And you know what else?
00:44:10.860 For being a racist bunch of thugs.
00:44:12.860 And why do I call them racist?
00:44:15.860 Because again and again when Montreal police accost our reporters, you know what they call us?
00:44:22.860 Jew media.
00:44:24.860 Are you a Jew they say?
00:44:27.860 These thugs when they see us on the street say, are you Jew media?
00:44:33.860 Well most of our reporters are not, but I am sir.
00:44:37.860 And I will see you in court for your bigotry.
00:44:41.860 I will get to know them intimately.
00:44:44.860 Because we are going to spend years together and I will see your wicked faces.
00:44:51.860 No matter what your masks are.
00:44:53.860 My name is Ezra Levan and I work with dozens of independent journalists
00:44:57.860 who don't take a dime of money from any government.
00:45:01.860 And that is the reason why we can show you the police brutality.
00:45:06.860 Thug! Thug! Come here! Coward! Come here!
00:45:10.860 Come on camera! You bigoted bully!
00:45:13.860 Come on camera!
00:45:15.860 These cowards are pretty frickin' brave when the cameras aren't on.
00:45:19.860 Which is why they raided our Airbnb.
00:45:21.860 But when the cameras are rolling, they run and hide!
00:45:26.860 Run and hide! Coward!
00:45:28.860 This raid on our journalists will not stand.
00:45:32.860 If you want to help us fight back journalistically,
00:45:34.860 if you want to help us fight back legally,
00:45:36.860 go down to lockdownreports.com.
00:45:39.860 That's lockdownreports.com.
00:45:41.860 My name is Ezra Levan and if you think I'm mad,
00:45:44.860 I have only just begun.
00:45:46.860 Go to lockdownreports.com.
00:45:48.860 Cowards! Come forward!
00:45:49.860 Cowards! Show your faces!
00:45:54.860 Make sure you guys get the plates of these carvers.
00:45:57.860 These undercarvers.
00:45:59.860 Yeah, that one going there.
00:46:01.860 The backup goons are on their way.
00:46:09.860 The backup goons.
00:46:10.860 The affirmative action hire!
00:46:11.860 Are you sealing the arm?
00:46:12.860 Do you want to touch our people?
00:46:13.860 Go cover Manzies.
00:46:14.860 Who did you touch him?
00:46:15.860 Did you touch him?
00:46:16.860 Why did you touch him?
00:46:17.860 Did you touch him?
00:46:18.860 Why did you touch him?
00:46:19.860 Why did you touch him?
00:46:20.860 No, no, he drove into me.
00:46:21.860 He drove into me.
00:46:22.860 Are you hiding your name into me?
00:46:26.860 No, no, no.
00:46:27.860 Keep your distance.
00:46:29.860 The human.
00:46:30.860 Go cover Manzies.
00:46:31.860 Keep your distance.
00:46:33.860 Hey, hey, hey!
00:46:34.860 Keep your distance.
00:46:35.860 Hey!
00:46:36.860 Did you touch him? Did you touch him? Why did you touch him?
00:46:41.860 No, no, he told him to me. He told him to me.
00:46:44.860 Are you hiding your name to me?
00:46:54.860 Here are the thugs! Here are the thugs! Here come the thugs!
00:46:58.860 Shame! Shame! Shame! Shame! Shame! Shame!
00:47:03.860 Shane! Shane! Shane!
00:47:09.140 Shane! Shine!
00:47:18.040 Oh the fuck?
00:47:19.600 Shane! Shane!
00:47:29.740 Look at that, more cops! More fucking cops!
00:47:33.760 He's putting the fuck up.
00:47:39.760 Hey, how many guys does it take to fucking hold the guy, huh?
00:47:43.760 This is what you go to school for?
00:47:48.760 Fucking disgusting disgrace.
00:47:54.760 People are fucking disgrace.
00:47:56.760 Should be a shame.
00:47:59.760 All for these two undercover fucking pigs.
00:48:04.760 You want the public support?
00:48:06.760 You think you're gonna get a fucking raise when you wear your clown outfit?
00:48:10.760 You think we're gonna support you people?
00:48:12.760 You guys are fucking clowns.
00:48:14.760 What do you do about me?
00:48:15.760 Fucking disgrace.
00:48:17.760 You can't.
00:48:18.760 I have two artists to call him.
00:48:21.760 You can't.
00:48:22.760 You will put me in the hospital if you touch me like that.
00:48:25.760 You understand that?
00:48:27.760 Do you believe me or not?
00:48:29.760 Alright.
00:48:30.760 Please.
00:48:31.760 Fuck.
00:48:32.760 Is that good?
00:48:33.760 Uh, sorry, are you good?
00:48:34.760 Are you good?
00:48:35.760 How are you?
00:48:36.760 Good.
00:48:37.760 What's up?
00:48:38.760 No.
00:48:39.760 No.
00:48:40.760 I'm with them.
00:48:41.760 You're with them?
00:48:42.760 Yeah.
00:48:43.760 Alright.
00:48:44.760 The police are going to be deploying tear gas and other non-lethal weapons.
00:49:02.760 They will taser you.
00:49:04.760 They have already arrested one of our reporters after physically assaulting him.
00:49:10.760 This is the police brutality.
00:49:12.760 We have come here to observe.
00:49:15.760 And hear the cops.
00:49:16.760 Here's where are the cops.
00:49:18.760 Here's where to the cops.
00:49:20.760 Where are you on your books.
00:49:21.760 Where are you on your books?
00:49:23.760 Why are you touching me?
00:49:25.760 Why are you touching me?
00:49:27.760 Why are you touching me?
00:49:28.760 Why are you touching me?
00:49:29.760 Why?
00:49:30.760 Why?
00:49:31.760 Why?
00:49:32.760 Why?
00:49:33.760 Speak English, I don't know what you're saying.
00:49:35.760 Why do you need...
00:49:36.760 You're pushing me with the bicycle! Are you kidding me?!
00:50:06.760 You're very tough. Good job. You can push a girl. Good job.
00:50:15.960 You're so strong, man. You're so strong.
00:50:17.960 Look at strong men over here.
00:50:19.960 Listen!
00:50:23.960 Don't touch my phone! Excuse me. No, I want to see your name. Thank you.
00:50:35.960 There's their names.
00:50:51.160 Crooked cop. Crooked cop. I know you. You crooked cop.
00:50:54.360 That's it. That's it. You're doing good work.
00:50:56.760 Oh, so are you! You feel good?
00:50:58.760 You're a disgrace. That's why you hide your face.
00:51:00.760 Who's the one who called us Jew media?
00:51:02.760 You call us Jew media. I am a f***ing Jew.
00:51:05.960 I am a Jew media. I will show you in court.
00:51:07.960 I can't. I can't.
00:51:13.960 They called us Jew media. These crooked bigots, when they came to our reporters, they called us Jew media.
00:51:21.160 They asked if we were Jews. They're anti-semitic, crooked, and corrupt. Shame on them.
00:51:28.360 These wicked men and women.
00:51:32.360 They moved back.
00:51:33.560 They call us Sic nota in court.
00:51:35.360 Where am I moving to?
00:51:36.560 Move.
00:51:36.960 Move back.
00:51:37.560 Where.
00:51:37.960 Where are?
00:51:38.360 What?
00:51:38.760 And why.
00:51:39.560 Why?
00:51:39.860 Back.
00:51:40.360 Why?
00:51:40.860 Why?
00:51:41.360 Back.
00:51:42.060 I'm asking you why.
00:51:42.860 I'm asking you why.
00:51:43.860 Hey, don't push.
00:51:46.160 Don't push.
00:51:46.960 Stop pushing.
00:51:48.560 Come push.
00:51:49.760 Move.
00:51:50.760 Move.
00:51:51.560 We're moving.
00:51:52.800 You're moving.
00:51:53.960 Where are we going?
00:51:54.760 Stop pushing!
00:51:55.440 Where are we going?
00:51:56.460 I'm a half-sposition.
00:51:57.460 Where are we going?
00:52:07.460 Oh, this is so stupid.
00:52:10.460 What was our crime?
00:52:12.460 We can't stand there, but we can stand here.
00:52:14.460 This is okay?
00:52:16.460 This is okay?
00:52:18.460 Oh, so this is good.
00:52:20.460 Oh, so now we're safe.
00:52:22.460 Yeah, this is good?
00:52:24.460 You guys are satisfied?
00:52:26.460 Do you feel good?
00:52:28.460 Look at you.
00:52:30.460 Get your names.
00:52:32.460 Thank you.
00:52:34.460 Beautiful.
00:52:38.460 Are you guys are satisfied now that we're standing here?
00:52:40.460 This is good?
00:52:42.460 Yeah.
00:52:44.460 Yeah.
00:52:50.460 Yeah.
00:52:52.460 Put your mask above your nose.
00:52:58.460 Put your mask above your nose.
00:53:00.460 Give him a ticket.
00:53:02.460 You give me a ticket for not wearing a mask.
00:53:04.460 Give him a ticket.
00:53:05.460 You can probably wear it.
00:53:06.460 Put it above your nose.
00:53:08.460 It's effective.
00:53:13.460 Ezra Levant here.
00:53:14.460 I'm in the beautiful port in old Montreal.
00:53:17.460 It's a gorgeous day today.
00:53:18.460 And you can see down there is a houseboat that's actually an Airbnb.
00:53:23.460 It's a registered mini hotel capacity 21.
00:53:27.460 And we rented that out for 17 of our rebel reporters who are coming to Montreal to cover the anti-lockdown protests and the police brutality in response to them.
00:53:37.460 There was about 50 cops here earlier.
00:53:40.460 They called it a crime scene.
00:53:42.460 They wouldn't let me back into the boat.
00:53:44.460 They demanded everyone else get off the boat.
00:53:46.460 They searched everyone as they got off the boat, which I'm sure is illegal, but they still haven't got that warrant.
00:53:52.460 So they haven't went on the boat.
00:53:54.460 I asked them and we got our lawyer down here pretty quick.
00:53:57.460 I asked them, what exactly is the charge?
00:54:01.460 What crime are you saying we committed?
00:54:03.460 I know what our crime is.
00:54:04.460 We committed journalism that they didn't like.
00:54:07.460 We scrutinized the Montreal police.
00:54:09.460 You know what they said?
00:54:10.460 They said it was an illegal gathering.
00:54:12.460 It's not a gathering.
00:54:13.460 It's a hotel.
00:54:14.460 And we were under capacity.
00:54:15.460 What a stretch.
00:54:16.460 But this is vengeance for us criticizing police brutality.
00:54:20.460 By the way, they've also arrested David Mendez.
00:54:22.460 Right now he's in one of those police vehicles.
00:54:24.460 We're trying to get them out.
00:54:25.460 Our lawyers on the scene.
00:54:26.460 And that's an update.
00:54:27.460 A very bizarre day.
00:54:28.460 And it stopped us from giving as much coverage to the big protest as we wanted.
00:54:33.460 But by the same token, I think we proved our point in spades, didn't we?
00:54:37.460 We showed the police brutality.
00:54:39.460 But you just can't trust the Montreal police are too corrupt.
00:54:42.460 Now we're going to have a lot of legal bills to defend ourselves against this bizarre attack.
00:54:47.460 To get David out of whatever they're going to charge him with.
00:54:50.460 But also to go on the offensive against Montreal for their abusive policing.
00:54:53.460 If you can help with any of that, please go to lockdownreports.com.
00:54:57.460 This battle will take us years to fix.
00:55:00.460 What the police did to us today must see its day in court.
00:55:04.460 I'll be there.
00:55:05.460 If you can give us the tools, we'll do the job.
00:55:07.460 Please go to lockdownreports.com.
00:55:09.460 Thanks.
00:55:10.460 It's 7.42pm.
00:55:11.460 Another beautiful night in Montreal.
00:55:14.460 Look how gorgeous it is.
00:55:16.460 But I've spent the last 10 or 11 hours kicked off this Airbnb houseboat that we paid for.
00:55:23.460 Because a group of Montreal police demanded access to the boat for no probable cause with no search warrant.
00:55:31.460 That's the gate right there.
00:55:32.460 I told them to get lost without a search warrant.
00:55:35.460 So they turned the whole place into a crime scene.
00:55:38.460 Literally putting up criminal do not pass police tape.
00:55:41.460 They arrested my friend David Menzies and held them in a police station for hours.
00:55:46.460 And they roughed up.
00:55:47.460 Well, they even pushed me around a little bit.
00:55:49.460 And Kian Bexty too.
00:55:50.460 Trouble is, they couldn't find a judge to sign their cockamamie search warrant.
00:55:56.460 Because we did nothing wrong.
00:55:57.460 We rented an Airbnb that had a capacity of 21.
00:56:01.460 And there were only 17 of us here.
00:56:03.460 And we were just having breakfast.
00:56:04.460 It's really a hotel.
00:56:05.460 That's all.
00:56:06.460 So I'm very happy to say I'm back on the boat.
00:56:09.460 I don't know if you can tell that.
00:56:10.460 I'm literally on the boat.
00:56:12.460 There's three cops down there.
00:56:14.460 But, you know, they're just enjoying the overtime they're making.
00:56:17.460 And, you know, we're going to retake the boat.
00:56:22.460 We're on the high seas.
00:56:24.460 I mean, my nickname at Rebel News is the Rebel Commander.
00:56:27.460 So I guess I'm the commander of a boat again.
00:56:29.460 Anyways, the police disgraced themselves.
00:56:31.460 I'm glad that we didn't knuckle under to their bullying.
00:56:34.460 And I'm sorry that David Menzies was put into custody so illegally.
00:56:39.460 I still love Montreal.
00:56:40.460 In fact, I love it even more because now I know how badly it's been victimized by police.
00:56:44.460 It does not deserve this awful police force that it has.
00:56:48.460 And they're frankly shameful.
00:56:51.460 And if they think they're going to stop us from reporting on their brutal policing of the lockdown, they're dead wrong.
00:56:57.460 And they're going to have to do a bit better than they did today.
00:56:59.460 We still have a lot of legal bills.
00:57:01.460 We're told that massive fines will be coming to us in the mail.
00:57:04.460 We're going to have to fight them.
00:57:05.460 And I think we have to go on the offensive too.
00:57:07.460 Please help us with that.
00:57:09.460 We can't fight this fight alone.
00:57:10.460 We're massively overspent.
00:57:12.460 You saw that outspent like a hundred to one.
00:57:14.460 You saw what they had going on today.
00:57:17.460 So if you can, please go to lockdownreports.com.
00:57:21.460 Thanks very much, everybody.
00:57:22.460 We had a win today.
00:57:24.460 Let's savor it.
00:57:25.460 David, I'm sorry you went through what you went through.
00:57:43.460 You're a hero for journalism, a hero for free speech, a hero for the rule of law.
00:57:48.460 You're a hero for Rebel News and a hero to me.
00:57:50.460 A hero for the concussion industry.
00:57:52.460 You know, I'm so sorry you went through what you did.
00:57:55.460 It was surreal.
00:57:56.460 But everybody saw, the world saw it.
00:57:59.460 I hate the fact that you too often have been the target of police violence.
00:58:04.460 And I pledge to you as the boss of Rebel News and as your friend,
00:58:08.460 that we will seek justice for you through taking legal proceedings against the police.
00:58:15.460 You don't have to make that pledge.
00:58:17.460 You always have our backs here.
00:58:18.460 So thank you, man.
00:58:19.460 I look at today.
00:58:20.460 Some might see a failure.
00:58:22.460 Our time was wasted.
00:58:24.460 We've incurred many thousands of dollars in legal fees.
00:58:28.460 It stressed everyone else out.
00:58:30.460 And worst of all, you spent hours in jail.
00:58:33.460 That's a failure to most people.
00:58:35.460 But I believe it's a success in one way.
00:58:38.460 It proved our thesis that the Montreal police is corrupt, that they're brutal, and that other journalists in this city and indeed this country don't care about freedom of the press.
00:58:51.460 So your sacrifices, and thank God you look like, although it was rough, you look like you're not deeply injured.
00:59:00.460 Inside I'm crying.
00:59:02.460 Listen, you've got such a good sense of humor about everything.
00:59:05.460 But my point is, what you personally experienced proves our thesis more than anything about the rotten state of affairs.
00:59:14.460 So let's get you back on the boat.
00:59:16.460 We retook the boat.
00:59:17.460 Let's get your feet up and have a drink.
00:59:19.460 I'm so happy about that.
00:59:20.460 And you know what?
00:59:22.460 We did have a win in the end.
00:59:24.460 And I'm glad you're okay, my friend.
00:59:26.460 Well, thank you.
00:59:27.460 I have to come back to this city that is normally beautiful in May.
00:59:30.460 I have to get mug shots and fingerprints and the whole rigmarole.
00:59:35.460 But you know, Ezra, we've seen bad behavior by policing the world over.
00:59:39.460 Avi Amini getting tackled in Australia.
00:59:42.460 The UK, that's another level.
00:59:44.460 You know, Toronto acting up pretty badly since January.
00:59:47.460 This is another level.
00:59:49.460 Yeah.
00:59:50.460 This is, you know, I'm saying this with a degree of naivety.
00:59:54.460 The only experience I've ever had with the Montreal Police Service is via Just for Laughs Gags, one of my favorite shows.
01:00:01.460 And I thought, what an incredible police service.
01:00:03.460 Giving their cruisers, their uniforms to the comedians to do these elaborate pranks.
01:00:08.460 I could never see Toronto doing that.
01:00:10.460 And so I always thought they had this kind of like jocularity about them.
01:00:13.460 Yeah, no, they're vicious.
01:00:14.460 Yeah, that's a PR exercise.
01:00:16.460 This is the real Montreal Police, Ezra.
01:00:19.460 Yeah.
01:00:20.460 But I'm glad all's well that ends well.
01:00:22.460 I'm glad you got the boat bag to my presence.
01:00:24.460 I can't hardly wait to hear that story.
01:00:26.460 I can't hardly wait to hear that story.
01:00:27.460 I can't hardly wait to hear that story.
01:00:33.460 There we go.
01:00:35.460 There we go.
01:00:36.460 Peter Cвод country welcome shore.
01:00:37.460 We are enduring.
01:00:38.460 There we go.
01:00:39.460 Remember?
01:00:40.460 There we go.
01:00:41.460 If love is alive.
01:00:42.460 And it's the arrival that this Simply
01:00:44.640 runs all around.
01:00:47.460 Hopefully we'll see.
01:00:48.460 There we're going now.
01:00:49.460 All that one.
01:00:51.460 Thetra投 הז Live.
01:00:52.460 That's OK.
