00:00:02.000 Michelle Obama is ready to release a new book.
00:00:05.000 And the Feds consider charging Hunter Biden.
00:00:07.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:00:07.000 This is the Ben Shapiro Show.
00:00:09.000 The Ben Shapiro Show is sponsored by ExpressVPN.
00:00:16.000 Protect your online privacy today at expressvpn.com slash ben.
00:00:20.000 Speaking of which, going online without ExpressVPN is like leaving your kids with the nearest stranger while using the restroom.
00:00:25.000 I would never do that because I don't trust either the stranger or my own children.
00:00:29.000 Well, most of the time it would probably be okay, but you really shouldn't do that.
00:00:31.000 That's the same thing with using your computer without ExpressVPN because somebody out there is looking for your data.
00:00:37.000 Every time you connect to an unencrypted network in cafes, hotels, airports, basically any network that's not your own, your online data is not secure.
00:00:44.000 Any hacker on the same network can gain access to and steal your personal data.
00:00:47.000 Passwords, financial details, you name it.
00:00:49.000 ExpressVPN creates a secure encrypted tunnel between your device and the internet so hackers can't steal your data.
00:00:53.000 Hackers can make some serious cash selling personal information on the dark web, but ExpressVPN has made it easier than ever to keep your information safe.

00:01:21.000 Expressvpn.com slash ben.
00:01:22.000 Get those three extra months for free.
00:01:25.000 Well, the plague has hit him.
00:01:27.000 Finally, after all these years, Joe Biden has now come down with COVID.
00:01:32.000 I can joke about this because COVID is not a serious disease anymore for the vast majority of people who get it, particularly those who have been vaccinated 1,000 times.
00:01:39.000 Joe Biden has been double-vaxxed.
00:01:41.000 Triple vaxxed.
00:01:42.000 Quadruple vaxxed.
00:01:43.000 His body is 96% vaccine at this point.
00:01:46.000 He still apparently has mild symptoms from COVID.
00:01:49.000 The other reason I can mock this is because the left has decided that if you get COVID, it's because of some moral wrong you did.
00:01:55.000 The left is so religious.
00:01:56.000 If you read the Bible, then you'll see that there are circumstances in the Bible where people do things wrong and then God punishes them with a plague.
00:02:02.000 This happens to Miriam at one point.
00:02:04.000 She says something bad about Moses and then God gives her leprosy.
00:02:07.000 This is how the left views COVID.
00:02:08.000 It's like if you're a bad person, if you did something wrong, that's when you get COVID.
00:02:12.000 So I guess This is just God's revenge on Joe Biden for being a terrible president.
00:02:16.000 That's the only way that I can read this.
00:02:18.000 So Joe Biden apparently tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday morning, at least when they announced it.
00:02:24.000 Now, we don't know how long he's had COVID.
00:02:26.000 He was going around unmasked.
00:02:27.000 He was shaking hands with people.
00:02:29.000 Oh, my God.
00:02:31.000 The 79-year-old commander in chief was experiencing very mild symptoms, according to the White House.
00:02:35.000 He's able to participate in regular meetings.
00:02:36.000 He is taking Pax Livid, officials said.
00:02:40.000 Corinne Jean-Pierre said that he tested positive for COVID-19.
00:02:43.000 She announced all of this.
00:02:45.000 And then apparently White House doctor Kevin O'Connor said the president is currently experiencing mild symptoms, mostly rhinorrhea or runny nose and fatigue with an occasional dry cough, which started yesterday evening.
00:02:55.000 Now, listen, he is in the cohort of the population that is most vulnerable to COVID.
00:02:58.000 He is 79 years old, obviously, and has cancer.
00:03:01.000 Oh no, he doesn't have cancer.
00:03:02.000 He just said he had cancer like a couple of days ago, but doesn't actually have cancer.
00:03:06.000 The President of the United States did give a statement on Twitter, an update from him about his health.
00:03:11.000 Here's what it sounded like.
00:03:13.000 Hey folks, guess you heard this morning I tested positive for COVID.
00:03:17.000 But I've been double vaccinated, double boosted.
00:03:19.000 Symptoms are mild.
00:03:21.000 And I really appreciate your inquiries and your concerns.
00:03:24.000 I'm doing well.
00:03:25.000 I'm getting a lot of work done.
00:03:26.000 I'm going to continue to get it done.
00:03:29.000 And in the meantime, thanks for your concern and keep the faith.
00:03:32.000 It's going to be okay.
00:03:34.000 I'll keep the faith.
00:03:34.000 and then he keeled over, and they cut right before.
00:03:36.000 He didn't actually keel over.
00:03:37.000 That was actually take three.
00:03:38.000 In take one, he said he had cancer.
00:03:40.000 In take two, bizarrely, he said he had monkey pox.
00:03:42.000 Take three, he said that he had COVID.
00:03:45.000 And I'm not gonna stop mocking because so many people have turned getting COVID into some sort of moral test.
00:03:52.000 And not only that, your behavior around getting COVID was supposed to be extraordinarily strict, locked down.
00:03:57.000 We certainly weren't supposed to see pictures of you working during COVID.
00:04:01.000 And there's a picture of the White House put out of Joe Biden working.
00:04:04.000 And the question is, who was in the room with him?
00:04:06.000 Has he transferred the plague to them?
00:04:09.000 Well, Corrine Jean-Pierre, the worst White House press secretary of my lifetime.
00:04:13.000 She's really bad at it.
00:04:14.000 Like, listen, I had major problems with Jen Psaki and her political point of view.
00:04:18.000 I've had problems since she was a State Department spokesperson.
00:04:20.000 But Jen Psaki was actually good at her job, which is to spin on behalf of the President of the United States.
00:04:24.000 Karine Jean-Pierre cannot spin, like at all.
00:04:27.000 She's just stuck in the ground and she can't spin.
00:04:29.000 It's like a weather vane that's been rusted over.
00:04:31.000 So Karine Jean-Pierre yesterday Was asked about where Joe Biden got COVID.
00:04:35.000 Now I've been told for literally years that this is a deeply important question.
00:04:39.000 In fact, the position of this administration for a long time may still be was to test and trace is that you were supposed to figure out who you could have given COVID to and who you could have gotten COVID from.
00:04:49.000 We need to find the vectors of infection and then completely ignore the actual vectors of infection because we have to pretend that you need a mask up on an airplane.
00:04:55.000 Even though people don't get COVID on airplanes.
00:04:57.000 We have to pretend that schools are chief vectors of infection, even though there's no evidence that schools were chief vectors of it.
00:05:01.000 So, but we were supposed to be super concerned with how you got COVID.
00:05:04.000 Now, here is the reality about COVID right now.
00:05:07.000 As of now, this wasn't true at the very beginning.
00:05:09.000 It's certainly true at the time of crime.
00:05:10.000 Everyone's going to get it.
00:05:11.000 You're not going to know where you got it because everyone gets it.
00:05:14.000 End of story.
00:05:16.000 I was double-vaxxed.
00:05:17.000 I got it.
00:05:18.000 My dad was triple-vaxxed.
00:05:20.000 He got it.
00:05:20.000 My wife was triple-vaxxed.
00:05:22.000 She got it.
00:05:22.000 Like, everyone is going to get Omicron at a certain point because it's incredibly infectious.
00:05:27.000 And I'm not saying the vaccines don't help people who are vulnerable.
00:05:30.000 They probably do.
00:05:31.000 If you're older, like Joe Biden, you needed to get double-vaxxed and double-boosted because Joe Biden is not somebody, like, in a normal, run-of-the-mill disease vector.
00:05:40.000 He wouldn't be doing well.
00:05:41.000 He's 79 years old and not in proper health.
00:05:44.000 But Karine Jean-Pierre, She's now saying that when it comes to the president, it doesn't matter where he got it.
00:05:50.000 Probably he got it from that fist bump with MBS.
00:05:53.000 Probably he gave credibility to MBS and MBS gave him COVID.
00:05:56.000 But in any case, here is Kareen Shampir.
00:05:58.000 Where was he infected?
00:05:59.000 I don't think we know.
00:06:01.000 I certainly don't know if you have any thoughts on it.
00:06:03.000 Look, I don't think that matters, right?
00:06:05.000 I think what matters is we prepared for this moment.
00:06:08.000 I think what matters is what Dr. Jha just laid out.
00:06:11.000 If we look at where we were a year and a half ago, this is a president, when he walked in, one of his first priorities was to make sure we had a comprehensive plan.
00:06:20.000 To get people vaccinated.
00:06:22.000 And so now today, look to today, more and more people are getting closer to having a more normal life.
00:06:29.000 Vaccines are available.
00:06:31.000 And as Dr. Jha said, if you have not gotten vaccinated, please do.
00:06:35.000 If you have not gotten boosted, please do.
00:06:39.000 These are treatments that are going to keep you safe.
00:06:43.000 And I think that's what matters here, is making sure that we continue to do the work.
00:06:47.000 And the good thing is that Okay, that is some bad spin there.
00:06:54.000 It no longer matters where the President of the United States got or who he's been with.
00:06:57.000 By the way, there are other people who are on the plane with Joe Biden who just came back from Saudi Arabia who have now come down with COVID.
00:07:02.000 And again, I'm old enough to remember because I'm more than two years old when Donald Trump was president and when there were a bunch of people who went to the White House and a bunch of people got COVID.
00:07:09.000 And it was a super spreader event.
00:07:11.000 Donald Trump evil.
00:07:12.000 Remember when Donald Trump got COVID?
00:07:13.000 And this is like the end of the world.
00:07:15.000 And he was in the hospital.
00:07:16.000 And then he went in a car with people.
00:07:18.000 Oh my God.
00:07:19.000 He went in a car with people.
00:07:20.000 And then he came in the helicopter.
00:07:21.000 He went up on the steps of the White House.
00:07:23.000 He's in that sort of that balcony.
00:07:25.000 And he took off the mask.
00:07:26.000 I was like, he took off the mask.
00:07:27.000 He's going to kill everyone.
00:07:28.000 He was already immune at that point because he'd already had the virus.
00:07:30.000 But oh my God, what if he turns around?
00:07:32.000 He's walking near someone.
00:07:35.000 No.
00:07:35.000 Now here's the thing.
00:07:37.000 In order for all of this to be a non-story, all Joe Biden and the administration have to do is say a thing that would help them politically anyway.
00:07:43.000 This is how inept they are.
00:07:44.000 If one year ago they had said, listen guys, COVID's out there.
00:07:47.000 You're probably going to get it.
00:07:48.000 You have the means to deal with it.
00:07:50.000 We have vaccines that are out there.
00:07:51.000 It's going to be fine.
00:07:52.000 None of this is a big deal.
00:07:54.000 Everybody go back to work.
00:07:55.000 If they had said this, half of the economic problems this administration would have been suffering from, half of the political problems this administration has been suffering from, would never have materialized.
00:08:03.000 But they couldn't do that.
00:08:04.000 They keep hanging on to this.
00:08:06.000 In LA, they're talking about remasking students.
00:08:09.000 And they will not let go of this.
00:08:10.000 So because they will not let go of this, that means when the president of the United States gets COVID, instead of everybody being like, well, I'm, you know, he got a cold, who cares?
00:08:17.000 Instead of everybody reacting like that, it's like, oh my God, he got COVID.
00:08:20.000 What do we do now?
00:08:22.000 Why is God taking revenge on the president?
00:08:24.000 No one.
00:08:24.000 Okay.
00:08:24.000 So KJP, Kareem Jean-Pierre, she was asked about whether he was too casual.
00:08:29.000 Now, again, the rule is if a Republican gets COVID, anything they do is too casual.
00:08:33.000 If somebody who's unvaxxed gets COVID, even if they are 21 years old and an Olympic athlete, well, everything they do is too casual.
00:08:40.000 We have to lock you in an isolation tank for like five days, and then we have to take some sort of catheter and feed you that way.
00:08:46.000 That's the only way we can make sure that everyone will be safe.
00:08:49.000 But according to Corinne Jean-Pierre, Joe Biden hasn't been too casual at all.
00:08:53.000 I mean, sure, he was like out there shaking hands with literally everyone he could find over the last several days.
00:08:58.000 And by the way, you're supposed to isolate once you get symptoms, not when you test positive.
00:09:01.000 We'll get to that in just a moment.
00:09:02.000 But she says he wasn't too casual at all.
00:09:04.000 Does the President, does the White House, are there any regrets about the amount of time in recent days and past weeks that we've seen him unmasked, shaking hands with people, hugging people, fist bumping, in close contact with crowds?
00:09:17.000 In retrospect, was he too casual?
00:09:19.000 No.
00:09:20.000 I mean, look at this.
00:09:23.000 I've said this before from this podium.
00:09:25.000 We have an incredibly contagious variant, and we've had a protocol that I think it's done a very good job protecting the president.
00:09:35.000 The most important part of that protocol, by the way, is making sure that he was up to date on his vaccines and we had access to treatments.
00:09:43.000 The president wants to get out there and be with and meet American people.
00:09:46.000 Yeah, well, we get that.
00:09:47.000 But when it was Donald Trump who wanted to be out there and meet the American people, then it was really, really bad that he that he did all of this sort of stuff.
00:09:54.000 By the way, one of the things that he was saying when he went to the Middle East last time is that he was fist bumping in order to avoid COVID.
00:09:59.000 But then he was shaking hands with people.
00:10:01.000 And then he was like giving people bro hugs.
00:10:03.000 So none of this makes any sense because none of the policy surrounding COVID from this administration has made any sense at all after the rollout of the vaccines.
00:10:10.000 That's pretty much it.
00:10:11.000 Ashish Jha, again, the White House COVID director, he was asked about the Joe Biden decision to go around shaking hands with people even after symptoms had materialized, right?
00:10:19.000 Because the rule is supposed to be, according to the CDC, that once you get the runny nose, once you get like the mild fever, you're supposed to isolate at that point.
00:10:26.000 before you even know whether you have COVID. He was asked about this. Well, that's not true for everyone. I mean, Joe Biden's one of the special people. It's not true for Joe Biden. Like when the CDC guidance says you should isolate if you have symptoms.
00:10:38.000 As soon as you became aware of your symptoms.
00:10:40.000 So I'm asking, did he start isolating only after the positive test, and he had the symptoms before the positive test?
00:10:48.000 It sounds like he had the positive test, was then questioned about any symptoms he had, and he said, oh yes, I do have these other features.
00:10:56.000 Which would suggest he didn't comply with the CDC guidance.
00:11:01.000 I think he became aware of his symptoms of runny nose and sore throat this morning, thus when he developed the symptoms.
00:11:07.000 Yeah, but before or after the test is what I'm asking.
00:11:13.000 I don't know the exact like hour that he developed that he became aware of his symptoms.
00:11:18.000 So you're asking like within minutes, like when exactly did his symptoms be?
00:11:23.000 That would be nice.
00:11:24.000 And that would be perhaps one of the reasons for having his physician up in the house.
00:11:28.000 Well, the good news is that when you are the president of the United States, your own people don't hold you to account in any serious way.
00:11:33.000 You don't have to follow any of the rules.
00:11:34.000 But here's the thing.
00:11:35.000 If you own a business, there are HR rules.
00:11:36.000 And if you don't follow those HR rules, you are just going to get shellacked.
00:11:40.000 Probably you'll end up losing a lot of money.
00:11:42.000 I know you don't start your business to handle HR because who does?
00:11:45.000 HR is like Toby.
00:11:45.000 Who wants to deal with Toby?
00:11:47.000 But here is the reality.
00:11:48.000 You need an excellent HR protocol and you need people who can handle it for you.

00:12:48.000 By the way, you know who's really unworried about this is Joe Biden.
00:12:50.000 So apparently, according to Kate Bennett, the CNN White House correspondent, Flotus and POTUS, First Lady and the President, will isolate away from each other for the next few foreseeable days.
00:12:59.000 Joe Biden will travel later this afternoon to Wilmington, Delaware.
00:13:02.000 President Biden will remain at the White House.
00:13:03.000 So she's like, I will catch you later, Joe, just leaving him at the White House.
00:13:07.000 I gotta go back to Delaware.
00:13:09.000 They go back there every weekend because Joe Biden basically is in a political retirement home and he goes on these field trips to Washington for a few days a week and then he goes back to the nursing home in Delaware every weekend.
00:13:20.000 But Jill is not going to miss time on the beach in Rehoboth, so she's headed off to Delaware and she's going to leave Joe Biden behind.
00:13:27.000 The real question is how Joe Biden survives the loss of America's greatest doctor.
00:13:30.000 I mean, if America's greatest doctor isn't there to care for Joe Biden, frankly, I'm deeply worried about his health.
00:13:36.000 We know for a fact that she is just, she's a medical professional.
00:13:40.000 That's why we call her Dr. Joe.
00:13:42.000 The greatest of all doctors, except for Dr. Pepper and Dr. J. Meanwhile, CNN's Caitlin Collins, she points out, yeah, Joe Biden's super old, and so we're concerned about him because he's old.
00:13:51.000 I love that the media will now talk about the fact that he's old.
00:13:53.000 Did he suddenly become old?
00:13:55.000 Did he go from being like 30 years old in 2020 to 79 years old in 2022?
00:14:00.000 Is that how that works?
00:14:01.000 I'm pretty sure that's not how aging works.
00:14:02.000 I'm pretty sure he was super old a couple of years ago when we were all saying he was super old.
00:14:06.000 And you were like, no, he's totally fit as a fiddle and ready for love.
00:14:09.000 He is ready to go, man.
00:14:10.000 That guy, he is so vital.
00:14:12.000 And if you point out that sentences complete Fluid, never come out of his face hole.
00:14:19.000 If you point that out, that's because he has a stammer, guys.
00:14:21.000 What are you talking about?
00:14:22.000 He overcame his stammer when he was in his, like, teens and 20s.
00:14:26.000 He hasn't talked about this in public life forever.
00:14:28.000 And then the minute that he is just falling into senility, it's like, well, you know, it's not senility, it's the stammer.
00:14:33.000 Well, now they're noticing he's really old.
00:14:35.000 So I guess that's fair game.
00:14:35.000 Now here's CNN's Caitlin Collins pointing out that his age raises concerns.
00:14:38.000 Yeah, no bleep.
00:14:40.000 Is there, from White House official sources you talk to, any level of concern among staff in the White House now, given this positive test?
00:14:47.000 When you talk to them, they'll say he is vaccinated, he is double-boosted, we follow all these guidelines.
00:14:53.000 But I think when any time someone who is in their late 70s gets COVID-19, it does raise concerns.
00:14:58.000 And that is why they worked so hard to try to avoid it and to try to make sure that he did not contract COVID-19.
00:15:04.000 Well, yes, that would be the reason.
00:15:06.000 By the way, Joe Biden's approval rating continues to sink ever greater.
00:15:10.000 President Kamala was trending yesterday, which is just, oh no!
00:15:17.000 But the reason it was trending is because, of course, nobody actually wants Joe Biden to be president anymore.
00:15:21.000 According to the Des Moines Register, less than one quarter of islands say they think Joe Biden should make another run for the White House in 2024.
00:15:28.000 Less than one quarter, 23% of Iowans say they hope Biden runs for president again.
00:15:32.000 67% say they hope he does not.
00:15:36.000 Brutal poll numbers for the president of the United States.
00:15:38.000 So a lot of people are like, well, you know, we pray for the health of the president and then we wish him to go away.
00:15:44.000 Well, this leaves a great vacuum at the top of the Democratic Party.
00:15:48.000 The person that a lot of people fear on the right, including me, is Michelle Obama.
00:15:51.000 Michelle Obama has cultivated this very popular Oprah-like image in the aftermath of her time in the White House.
00:15:57.000 She is not actually a unifying figure.
00:15:59.000 If you go back to read her Princeton thesis all about systemic American racism, she was doing critical race theory before CRT was a thing.
00:16:05.000 She's the same person who said in 2008 she'd never been proud of her country until the Democratic Party nominated her husband for President of the United States.
00:16:11.000 She's extraordinarily radical.
00:16:13.000 When you read what she has to say about half the country in Barack Obama's memoirs, this does not sound like somebody who's a great unifier.
00:16:19.000 But the media have turned her into a great unifier, largely on the basis of her 2018 book, Becoming, which sold 17 million copies worldwide.
00:16:27.000 Well, good news, guys.
00:16:28.000 If you love Becoming, there is now a new book titled The Light We Carry, which...
00:16:34.000 Just the title alone makes you want to shove your head into an oven.
00:16:37.000 The Light We Carry.
00:16:37.000 Yeah, I understand that there's a book called The Things We Carried about the Vietnam War.
00:16:43.000 It's actually quite a good book.
00:16:44.000 That is not the same as The Light We Carry.
00:16:46.000 So it's like a mixture between Ta-Nehisi Coates' title and Tim O'Brien and The Light We Carry.
00:16:51.000 It just sounds interminable and horrible.
00:16:53.000 Anyway, Crown is going to publish the 336-page book on November 15th, almost exactly four years after the release of Becoming.
00:17:02.000 According to the publisher's announcement, quote, in the light we carry, Mrs. Obama offers readers a series of fresh stories and insightful reflections on change, challenge, and power, including her belief that when we light up for others, we can illuminate the richness and potential of the world around us, discovering new pathways for Prague.
00:17:25.000 Sorry, I almost got through the sentence.
00:17:28.000 This hippy dippy new age crap is just so boring.
00:17:31.000 Wow, she has experiences as a friend.
00:17:33.000 Unlike the rest of humanity.
00:17:34.000 And as a daughter.
00:17:34.000 First Lady. Wow, she has experiences as a friend, unlike the rest of humanity, and as a daughter, unlike literally all human females. And as it, she shares the habits and principles she has developed to successfully adapt to change and overcome various obstacles.
00:17:50.000 The earned wisdom that helps her continue to become.
00:17:54.000 Penguin Random House has announced it's renaming an annual writing prize in her honor, the $10,000 Michelle Obama Award for Memoir.
00:18:00.000 That's definitely what we need.
00:18:01.000 We need more memoirs.
00:18:03.000 It's part of an awards program for public high school students.
00:18:06.000 Who wants to read a high school student's memoir?
00:18:07.000 I mean, seriously, that's a question.
00:18:11.000 What have you done in high school that merits a memoir?
00:18:14.000 Just sounds like a MASH note.
00:18:16.000 That sounds terrible.
00:18:17.000 They have quotes from Michelle Obama's new book here, and I have to mock it because it's just so terrible.
00:18:22.000 This is just terrible, terrible writing.
00:18:24.000 Quote, I've learned it's okay to recognize that self-worth comes wrapped in vulnerability.
00:18:31.000 And that what we share as humans on this earth is the impulse to strive for better, always and no matter what.
00:18:39.000 Oh, the platitudes are stacked so high.
00:18:42.000 They're teetering.
00:18:43.000 They're teetering.
00:18:44.000 And if that stack of platitudes should fall, it will destroy fully major American cities.
00:18:50.000 Recognize that self-worth comes wrapped in vulnerability.
00:18:52.000 What absolute horse crap.
00:18:53.000 She says, we become bolder in brightness.
00:18:55.000 What does that even mean?
00:18:56.000 Bolder in brightness.
00:18:58.000 Ooh, because sparkly.
00:19:00.000 Bolder in brightness.
00:19:01.000 If you know light, you know yourself.
00:19:04.000 If you know your light, you know yourself.
00:19:08.000 I remember when we used to make fun of Donald Trump because he said that sunlight should be used as a way of killing COVID and you should ingest sunlight if we could find a way to get sunlight into your body that would kill COVID.
00:19:18.000 Apparently, Michelle Obama agrees because if you know your light, you know yourself.
00:19:22.000 You know your own story in an honest way.
00:19:24.000 Who gives a...
00:19:26.000 In my experience, this type of self-knowledge builds confidence, which in turn breeds calmness and an ability to maintain perspective, which leads finally to being able to connect meaningfully with others. And this to me is the bedrock of all things.
00:19:37.000 She should not be president based on these two paragraphs alone. This is a horror show. This is garbage mantra-esque 1960s hippie dippies crap.
00:19:51.000 Oh my goodness, that's bad writing.
00:19:54.000 It is vague, it is nonsensical, but it has a lot of buzzwords that people, I guess, makes them feel warm and fuzzy inside, like brightness and light.
00:20:04.000 And self-knowledge and calmness.
00:20:10.000 I'll never understand the appeal, but apparently she's a thing.
00:20:12.000 So she has a brand new book coming out.
00:20:13.000 Listen, Democrats are going to try and draft her.
00:20:15.000 They'd be a fool not to try to draft her because obviously she has more popularity than any of the major Democratic candidates.
00:20:20.000 Who are they going to go to?
00:20:21.000 If Joe Biden drops out, who exactly do they have left?
00:20:24.000 It can be Kamala Harris.
00:20:25.000 Nobody likes Kamala Harris.
00:20:27.000 Not sure Kamala Harris likes Kamala Harris.
00:20:28.000 Like nobody likes Kamala Harris.
00:20:31.000 Pete Buttigieg?
00:20:33.000 Pastor Pete?
00:20:34.000 He of great fame, South Bend, Indiana mayor who couldn't fill potholes over there and who tells Christians that they are misreading the Bible if they read the Bible?
00:20:42.000 That guy who took a two-month paternity leave when his husband had suffered no physical injury in the birth of their children, and then he was gone for two months and no one even knew?
00:20:56.000 That's Pete Buttigieg.
00:20:58.000 Gavin Newsom, who is busily locking down schools in Los Angeles while declaring that Florida is a place that is cracking down on freedom.
00:21:05.000 J.B.
00:21:05.000 Pritzker, who has to be lowered into the Illinois capitol by crane.
00:21:12.000 Of course, they're gonna have to try to draft me.
00:21:14.000 I would be shocked, actually, if they didn't try to draft Michelle Obama.
00:21:18.000 Well, one final note on the foibles of the Biden family here.
00:21:24.000 Apparently, the feds are thinking now pretty seriously about charging Hunter Biden with a crime.
00:21:29.000 Remember that time when it was irrelevant that Hunter Biden was being investigated?
00:21:32.000 Well, not so much anymore.
00:21:33.000 The federal investigation into Hunter Biden's business activities is apparently nearing a critical juncture as investigators weigh possible charges and prosecutors confront Justice Department guidelines to generally avoid bringing politically sensitive cases close to an election, according to people briefed on the matter.
00:21:47.000 While no final decision has been made on whether to bring charges against Biden's son, sources say the probe has intensified in recent months, along with discussions among Delaware-based prosecutors, investigators running the probe, and officials at the DOJ.
00:21:59.000 Discussions recently have centered around possibly bringing charges that could include alleged tax violations and making a false statement in connection with Biden's purchase of a firearm at a time he would have been prohibited from doing so because of his acknowledged struggles with drug addiction.
00:22:12.000 Well, those tax violations could theoretically drag his father into it because there's all sorts of evidence that his dad knew that he was having tax troubles and that he was basically going around to foreign countries picking up bags of cash from pretty Dirty players.
00:22:26.000 Also potentially in play are Justice Department guidelines governing politically sensitive investigations during an election year.
00:22:31.000 They say they want to beat the election to the punch, essentially.
00:22:33.000 If they're going to do it, they have to do it now because they don't want to charge Hunter Biden a year out from the election.
00:22:38.000 That could impact the election itself.
00:22:39.000 Well, we're keeping an eye on those charges, and Hunter Biden, I'm sure, is as well.
00:22:44.000 He's probably soiling his underwear at the thought.
00:22:45.000 But, as long as you're thinking about underwear, think about the best underwear.
00:22:49.000 I'm talking about Tommy John underwear.

00:23:50.000 And meanwhile, The Republican candidate for governor of New York was physically attacked yesterday, but he was not injured, according to the Associated Press.
00:24:02.000 Representative Lee Zeldin, Republican candidate for New York governor, was attacked by a man who apparently tried to stab him at an upstate event Thursday.
00:24:09.000 The congressman managed to escape uninjured.
00:24:11.000 According to his campaign, there is video of the event.
00:24:13.000 You can actually see Lee Zeldin standing on stage as a man approaches him and seems to lunge forward.
00:24:18.000 Zeldin grabs him by the wrist and is able to at least neutralize him for the moment.
00:24:22.000 It looks like he was carrying, it kind of looks like brass knuckles that are edged on the top.
00:24:28.000 It apparently has some stabbing implements on the top.
00:24:30.000 He's kind of holding it like this and it looks as though he's going to stab Lee Zeldin.
00:24:33.000 According to NPR, Zeldin was giving a speech when a man climbed on stage and appeared to begin wrestling with the congressman, said Katie Vincennes, a spokesperson for his campaign.
00:24:41.000 A video of the event in Parrington posted on Twitter showed the man appearing to grab Zeldin's arm before the two fall to the ground as other people tried to intervene.
00:24:49.000 Zeldin's campaign said the attacker was taken into custody.
00:24:51.000 The congressman continued his speech.
00:24:54.000 There are no actual details on the attacker or his weapon at this point, according to the New York GOP chair, although we have seen some pictures of the weapon.
00:25:03.000 According to Langworthy, he says Zeldin had just a little scrape, but it wasn't what anyone would consider an injury.
00:25:09.000 The chair said he was told that Zeldin's running mate, former New York Police Department Deputy Inspector Allison Esposito, was there and among those who helped to subdue the man also.
00:25:16.000 Langworthy called on Hochul, the governor of New York, current governor Kathy Hochul, who again took the job because Andrew Cuomo couldn't stop grabbing ass or killing old people.
00:25:23.000 Langworthy is calling on Hochul to issue a security detail for Zeldin to protect him on the campaign trail.
00:25:30.000 Well, I'm sure she is.
00:25:37.000 And again, I don't blame politicians for other politicians getting attacked unless they actually call for violence against the other politicians.
00:25:42.000 Just a consistent rule that I have.
00:25:44.000 It is fair to note here that according to Breitbart, Hochul sent out a press release urging her supporters to RSVP to her Republican challenger Zeldin's upcoming campaign stop just hours before a man rushed onto the stage at one of Zeldin's events in a failed attack.
00:25:58.000 According to Breitbart, Hochul's campaign sent out a press release just hours before the failed attack on Zeldin that blasted out the time and location of several of Zeldin campaign's upcoming stops.
00:26:08.000 Hochul claimed Zeldin and his team would spread, quote, dangerous lies, misinformation, and his far-right agenda at these campaign events.
00:26:14.000 The press release said, quote, Big Lie Lee and his entourage of extremists kick off the statewide MAGA Republican bus tour, which will make stops across the state peddling dangerous lies, misinformation, and his far-right agenda.
00:26:24.000 Also, the New York governor claimed that Zeldin would be joined by top anti-abortion advocates, NRA enthusiasts, and a cast of extremist groups.
00:26:29.000 She urged her supporters to RSVP to hear about Zeldin's Election Integrity Task Force and his recent election fraud scandal in which his campaign photocopied over 11,000 duplicate petition signatures.
00:26:39.000 You sent your supporters after him and they came, said Arthur Schwartz, who is a Republican activist.
00:26:45.000 Again, the attempt by Hochul to suggest that there was some sort of extremist activity happening, that he was a dangerous man, then somebody shows up at Zeldin's event and tries to stab him.
00:26:57.000 If this had happened in reverse, we all know what the headlines would be.
00:26:59.000 If there were a Democrat and some quote-unquote activist attempted to stab the Democrat, the Democratic candidate, and the Republicans had directed people to go to the campaign event because dangerous lies were being spewed there.
00:27:10.000 Presumably that Republican would then be hauled onto the carpet by the media and asked why exactly they'd incentivized such an attack.
00:27:17.000 I say this obviously because this is exactly the angle that the left has been taking with regard to January 6th.
00:27:21.000 The angle the left has been taking on January 6th is it's not just that Donald Trump said things that were not true between November 4th and January 6th.
00:27:29.000 It's not that he legally attempted to pursue remedies that he had no business pursuing or that the remedies he attempted to pursue had no legal basis.
00:27:36.000 It wasn't that.
00:27:37.000 It was that he somehow created the incentive for rioting at the Capitol, even though he never called on people to riot at the Capitol.
00:27:44.000 He called on people to peacefully march to the Capitol.
00:27:46.000 You're going to have one rule for everybody.
00:27:49.000 It's got to be the same rule.
00:27:50.000 If Kathy Hochul is telling people to go to other people's campaign events because they're spewing dangerous lies there and then somebody tries to stab her opponent, well, I mean, if you're going to use the Donald Trump standard that the left likes to use, then you have to talk about her moral culpability for what happened.
00:28:05.000 If not, then not.
00:28:07.000 So I'm in the not category, meaning I don't like that Kathy Hochul is encouraging people to go to her opponent's events while suggesting, untruthfully, that it's an extremist event filled with dangerous lies, etc, etc.
00:28:18.000 I don't like that sort of stuff.
00:28:19.000 I didn't like it when Donald Trump did that sort of stuff either.
00:28:21.000 But that's not the same thing as blaming people for actual violent attacks.
00:28:25.000 So, the Democratic Party, yesterday, along with Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, they did their January 6th special.
00:28:32.000 It's another January 6th special.
00:28:33.000 Ooh, the most highly-awaited special since, like, the Happy Days reunion.
00:28:39.000 Everybody was in on this thing.
00:28:40.000 They loved it.
00:28:41.000 People were really up for it.
00:28:42.000 The media, particularly.
00:28:43.000 I don't know what the ratings are yet.
00:28:44.000 I would imagine they are in the dozens.
00:28:45.000 But the media were just over the moon about this thing.
00:28:49.000 We were supposed to find out revelatory new information about Donald Trump's activities during the riots.
00:28:54.000 Oh, you mean the revelatory new information that between the beginning of the riots and when Donald Trump released a public video, he didn't do anything?
00:29:02.000 That's not revelatory.
00:29:04.000 We were there.
00:29:05.000 Like, we all remember it.
00:29:08.000 Again, the biggest problem with the January 6th committee is there's no there there.
00:29:12.000 It's a reminder that Donald Trump acted very badly leading up to January 6th and did not act well on January 6th also.
00:29:18.000 But people have their opinions on that, and those opinions are not going to be changed on any of this.
00:29:22.000 So they're still out there getting their hands on materials from January 6th.
00:29:27.000 One of those materials was apparently a Trump official saying that Donald Trump was watching this on TV while the Capitol was sacked.
00:29:33.000 Again, we knew this already, but okay.
00:29:36.000 Was the president in that private dining room the whole time that the attack on the Capitol was going on?
00:29:43.000 Or did he ever go, again, only to your knowledge, to the Oval Office, to the White House Situation Room, anywhere else?
00:29:50.000 To the best of my recollection, he was always in the dining room.
00:29:53.000 Do you know whether he was watching TV in the dining room when you talked to him on January 6th?
00:29:59.000 that you were in the dining room?
00:30:00.000 What do you recall?
00:30:01.000 I think everyone was watching the TV.
00:30:03.000 Do you know whether he was watching TV in the dining room when you talked to him on January 6th?
00:30:11.000 It's my understanding he was watching television.
00:30:14.000 When you were in the dining room in these discussions, was the violence happening visible on the screen on television?
00:30:23.000 Yes.
00:30:24.000 Okay, so I'm not sure what that is supposed to demonstrate other than what we already knew which is that Donald Trump knew what was happening in the Capitol building and then he didn't act in the way that he was supposed to.
00:30:34.000 And.
00:30:34.000 you Again, and.
00:30:36.000 He was impeached by the House over exactly this.
00:30:38.000 So I'm like, and?
00:30:40.000 So the January 6th committee brought forward evidence that the day after January 6th, Donald Trump gave a speech from the podium in which he had a very tough time saying that he lost the election.
00:30:48.000 I mean, again, I'm wondering where is the meat here, considering that it is now currently July 22nd, 2022, and he's still not saying he lost the election.
00:30:56.000 So like, you mean back then he's saying the same thing that he says now?
00:31:00.000 I am shocked and appalled.
00:31:02.000 Anyway, here are the outtakes of Donald Trump.
00:31:04.000 I would like to begin by addressing the heinous attack yesterday.
00:31:09.000 And to those who broke the law, you will pay.
00:31:13.000 You do not represent our movement.
00:31:15.000 You do not represent our country.
00:31:18.000 And if you broke the law, I can't say that.
00:31:22.000 I already said you will pay.
00:31:24.000 The demonstrators who infiltrated the Capitol have defied the seat of justice.
00:31:30.000 It's defiled, right?
00:31:31.000 See, I can't see it very well.
00:31:33.000 OK, I'll do this.
00:31:34.000 I'm going to do this.
00:31:35.000 Let's go.
00:31:36.000 But this election is now over.
00:31:38.000 Congress has certified the results.
00:31:40.000 I don't want to say the election's over.
00:31:41.000 I just want to say Congress has certified the results without saying the election is over, okay?
00:31:48.000 But Congress has certified.
00:31:49.000 Now Congress has certified.
00:31:50.000 Yeah, right.
00:31:51.000 Now Congress has certified.
00:31:52.000 I didn't say over.
00:31:53.000 So let me say.
00:31:54.000 I would like to begin by addressing the heinous attack yesterday.
00:32:01.000 Yesterday is a hard word for me.
00:32:06.000 Ah, good.
00:32:07.000 Take the word yesterday because it doesn't work with the heinous attack on our country.
00:32:14.000 Say on our country.
00:32:15.000 Wanna say that?
00:32:17.000 My only goal was to ensure the integrity of the vote.
00:32:22.000 My only goal was to ensure the integrity of the vote.
00:32:30.000 On January 7th, one day after he incited an insurrection based on a lie, President Trump still could not say that the election was over.
00:32:43.000 Wait, I have a question.
00:32:44.000 I mean, first of all, I'm sure that's true, but also that is not what those outtakes show.
00:32:50.000 Those outtakes just show Trump trying to read a speech and then going back and revising the speech through and through.
00:32:57.000 They have outtakes there where he just screws up a word, like yesterday.
00:33:00.000 I don't know what that, what is that outtake supposed to show exactly?
00:33:03.000 He doesn't like the word yesterday?
00:33:04.000 My God!
00:33:05.000 Impeach!
00:33:06.000 He doesn't like the word yesterday.
00:33:07.000 The January 6th committee, and they are out over their skis, they have made suggestions that they do not have the evidence to actually backfill.
00:33:16.000 And again, all this is going to do, the actual countervailing effect of this is going to be pretty bad for the Biden administration because Merrick Garland is going to have to decide whether to prosecute Trump.
00:33:24.000 Democrats desperately want Merrick Garland to prosecute Trump.
00:33:27.000 So Merrick Garland was asked about this yesterday, and he said anyone criminally responsible for January 6th will be prosecuted.
00:33:33.000 Again, most Democrats believe that Trump was criminally responsible, even if that's not true.
00:33:37.000 So here's Merrick Garland.
00:33:39.000 We have to hold accountable every person who is criminally responsible for trying to overturn a legitimate election.
00:33:49.000 And we must do it in a way filled with integrity and professionalism, the way the Justice Department conducts investigations.
00:33:57.000 Both of these are necessary in order to achieve justice and to protect our democracy.
00:34:03.000 Okay, well, all the pressure's going to be on Merrick Garland.
00:34:05.000 So for all the talk about how this is going to hurt Republicans, wait about a month and we'll see how this works out.
00:34:10.000 Alrighty, in just one second, we'll get to all the economic news.
00:34:12.000 The White House keeps maintaining that a recession is not on the way, but according to the New York Times, a recession alarm is ringing on Wall Street.
00:34:18.000 Well, we've been talking about January 6th since January 6th, which means like a year and a half, but we are also coming up on another important date, the first month anniversary of the launch of Daily Wire Plus.
00:34:27.000 We couldn't have done it without you.
00:34:28.000 If you're wondering what to watch on Daily Wire Plus this weekend, Here are my personal recommendations.
00:34:32.000 You have to watch What Is Woman.
00:34:33.000 Matt Walsh's documentary is just the best thing out there.
00:34:36.000 It's so good.
00:34:37.000 You need to watch Jordan Peterson's brand new series, Dragons, Monsters, and Men.
00:34:41.000 You need to watch Fauci Unmasked, taking apart Anthony Fauci, who will be leaving government, we hope, sometime this century.
00:34:48.000 You need to watch my latest episode of the book club.
00:34:50.000 Like, there's so much stuff.

00:34:58.000 Dailywireplus.com.
00:34:59.000 You're listening to the largest, fastest growing conservative podcast and radio show in the nation.
00:35:02.000 Meanwhile, amidst all this chaos, the thing that most Americans are still most concerned about is the economy. And the economy looks like it is headed in the wrong direction.
00:35:15.000 According to the New York Times, Wall Street's most talked-about recession indicator is sounding its loudest alarm in two decades, intensifying concerns among investors that the U.S.
00:35:22.000 economy is heading toward a slowdown.
00:35:24.000 That indicator is called the yield curve.
00:35:25.000 It's a way of showing how interest rates on various U.S.
00:35:27.000 government bonds compare Notably, three-month bills, two-year, and ten-year treasury notes.
00:35:32.000 Usually, bond investors expect to be paid more for locking up their money for a long stretch, so interest rates on short-term bonds are lower than those on long-term ones.
00:35:39.000 That makes sense.
00:35:39.000 You are essentially lending money to the U.S.
00:35:40.000 government, so if you're going to be locking up your money for ten years, you want a higher interest rate than if you are locking up your money for like a month.
00:35:46.000 Plotted out on a chart, the various yields for bonds create an upward-sloping line in the curve, but every once in a while, the short-term rates rise above the long-term ones.
00:35:53.000 That's called negative relationship That negative relationship contorts the curve into what's called an inversion and signals that the normal situation in the world's biggest government bond market has been upended.
00:36:02.000 It means that there's really not a lot of long-term faith that you're going to get your money back.
00:36:06.000 That is why you have a bond inversion.
00:36:08.000 An inversion has preceded every single U.S.
00:36:10.000 recession for the past half century.
00:36:11.000 It's seen as a harbinger of economic doom, and it is happening right now.
00:36:16.000 On Wednesday, the yield on two-year Treasury notes stood at 3.23%, Above the 3.03% yield on 10-year notes.
00:36:22.000 A year ago, by comparison, two-year yields were over one percentage point lower than the 10-year yields.
00:36:26.000 The Fed's mantra on inflation back then was that inflation would be transitory, meaning the central bank did not see a rapidly rising interest rate.
00:36:33.000 As a result, shorter-dated treasury yields remained low.
00:36:35.000 Over the past nine months, the Fed has become increasingly concerned inflation isn't going to fade on its own.
00:36:39.000 It's begun to tackle rapidly rising prices by raising those interest rates quickly.
00:36:43.000 By next week, When the Fed is expected to raise rates again, its policy rate will have jumped about 2.5 percentage points from near zero in March.
00:36:49.000 That is pushing up the yields on short-term treasuries like the two-year note.
00:36:53.000 So people are hungry for the two-year note, but they're not as hungry for the ten-year note.
00:36:57.000 Investors are fearful the central bank will go too far, slowing the economy to such an extent it sets off a severe downturn.
00:37:02.000 That worry is reflected in the falling longer-dated treasury yields, like the 10-year, which tell more about the investors' expectations for growth.
00:37:09.000 So what this means is that the markets are fearing that we are about to tip into recession.
00:37:13.000 None of this is a great shock.
00:37:15.000 The European Central Bank president, Lagarde, she came out yesterday.
00:37:19.000 And this is Christine Lagarde.
00:37:21.000 She came out and she said that the economy is clearly slowing at this point.
00:37:25.000 I will now outline in more detail how we see the economy and inflation developing, and will then explain our assessment of financial and monetary conditions.
00:37:38.000 So, economic activity is slowing.
00:37:43.000 Well, that is bad news for Joe Biden and pretty much everybody else in politics.
00:37:46.000 According to the Wall Street Journal, the ECB, the European Central Bank, raised interest rates by a larger than expected half percentage point.
00:37:51.000 They unveiled a new plan to buy debt of Europe's most vulnerable economies, seeking to protect the currency union.
00:37:57.000 As it navigates the twin threats of skyrocketing inflation and slowing economic growth.
00:38:01.000 By the way, this just shows you that Brexit was not a bad idea because economic union between, say, Germany and Greece just means that Germany always ends up picking up the debt of Greece.
00:38:08.000 The move takes the ECB's key interest rate to zero, ending the bloc's eight-year experiment with negative interest rates, capping two weeks of drama for Europe.
00:38:15.000 Negative interest rates is a way of pumping money into the economy.
00:38:18.000 Because the idea of a negative interest rate is basically the bank is paying you to take money out of the bank and then go and spend it on things.
00:38:24.000 The rate increase comes despite rapidly accumulating challenges facing Europe's economy and the currency union's cohesion.
00:38:30.000 From a looming energy crisis to a protracted war next door, mounting political instability at home, and what many economists think Has become an inevitable recession.
00:38:39.000 Some of these could make it difficult for the ECB to focus on combating inflation.
00:38:43.000 So the Europeans are now having the same trouble that the Biden administration is having again.
00:38:46.000 This is because pretty much all of the West moved in lockstep on economic policy.
00:38:50.000 They all operated off the premise that these central banks should control the future of not only currency supply but fiscal Policy and that ended with some really bad inflationary concerns.
00:39:01.000 Plus, obviously you have serious energy concerns on the continent in Europe.
00:39:07.000 It continues to be an amazing thing that the Europeans and the Americans are pursuing policies when it comes to energy that do not loosen up the supply of energy.
00:39:14.000 Especially here in the United States, according to the Wall Street Journal, some of the hottest weather on record is now lifting natural gas prices, reversing last month's plunge, reviving a key driver of inflation.
00:39:23.000 Remember, five seconds ago, the Biden administration was bragging they'd brought down the price of gas.
00:39:27.000 Well, now it's going the other way again.
00:39:29.000 Natural gas futures have jumped 48% this month, including 10% on Wednesday, to $8 per million British thermal units.
00:39:35.000 That is still more than $1 off the 14-year high hit just before a Texas natural gas export facility caught fire in early June.
00:39:41.000 Yet the power plant and manufacturing fuel has bounced back to more than twice the price of a year ago, adding cost pressure across the economy.
00:39:48.000 People were hoping that the falling commodity prices would show that inflation has peaked, but the heat wave is now forecast to create new bottlenecks in the supply chain because people need more energy in order to power their air conditioners.
00:39:59.000 For example, coal, like gas, is in high demand from power producers struggling to generate enough electricity to run the A.C.
00:40:05.000 The American corn crop is in its pollination stage when high heat and low moisture can reduce yields and contribute to higher prices for staples ranging from gasoline to ground beef.
00:40:13.000 Pricier natural gas adds not just to the cost of dialing down the thermostat, but also that for making fertilizer, steel, cement, plastic, and gas.
00:40:19.000 Natural gas prices surged this year as demand from utilities, manufacturers, and overseas buyers, especially in Europe, outpaced supply growth and kept inventories well below normal.
00:40:28.000 Well, the good news is that the Biden administration is focused like a laser beam on making sure that we produce less energy.
00:40:34.000 So we're in the middle of an inflationary spiral, but it's really hot outside, which means that we need more energy.
00:40:39.000 The solution is to cut down on our supply of energy so that 100 years from now, it'll be slightly less hot than it otherwise would be.
00:40:46.000 Genius policy, once more, coming from the Biden administration.
00:40:49.000 They really are quite good at this.
00:40:51.000 They really, really are.
00:40:52.000 Speaking of them being quite good at this, it is amazing to watch the entire administration just gaslight on issue after issue.
00:40:57.000 There are so many issues where they just say things are happening that are not happening.
00:41:00.000 So in the economy, like, oh, we're not on the verge of recession.
00:41:02.000 Everything's fine.
00:41:04.000 Inflation is just transitory.
00:41:05.000 Well, now they continue to say, Alejandro Mayorkas, our border patrol chief, essentially, because he's the head of the Department of Homeland Security, he says that the border is secure, which is weird because the border is not secure.
00:41:17.000 Is the border safe?
00:41:19.000 Now I was watching a news channel and they were talking about an invasion was happening and I got a little concerned.
00:41:25.000 The border is secure.
00:41:28.000 The border, we are working to make the border more secure.
00:41:33.000 That has been a historic challenge.
00:41:36.000 Well, I mean, it's not just a historic challenge.
00:41:38.000 You're botching it.
00:41:39.000 By the way, the Border Patrol is pushing back against Mayorkas.
00:41:41.000 According to Fox News, multiple Border Patrol agents are pushing back against Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas' claim that the southern border is secure, just as Asians on the front lines of the historic migrant crisis are struggling to cope with the overwhelming numbers facing them.
00:41:54.000 There were more than 207,000 migrant encounters in June alone, the fourth month in a row where the number of encounters breached the 200,000 mark.
00:42:02.000 But Mayorkas, speaking at the Aspen Security Forum on Tuesday, dismissed claims about the border not being secure.
00:42:06.000 He said, look, the border is secure.
00:42:08.000 We're working to make the border more secure.
00:42:10.000 This has been a historic challenge.
00:42:11.000 He then faulted lawmakers who have said they won't commit to broad immigration legislation.
00:42:14.000 So he's saying, it's your fault for not creating a pathway to citizenship for people who are here illegally.
00:42:20.000 Which, as we all know, is called an immigration magnet.
00:42:23.000 When you create a pathway to citizenship for people who are here illegally, this means that it incentivizes people to get here illegally as fast as humanly possible.
00:42:29.000 Well, I take issue with the fact that you think that leaving the border wide open while incentivizing people to cross it is good policy.
00:42:34.000 before they pass legislation, and I take issue with the math of holding the solution hostage until the problem is resolved.
00:42:39.000 Well, I take issue with the fact that you think that leaving the border wide open while incentivizing people to cross it is good policy.
00:42:47.000 It's an amazing thing.
00:42:49.000 Border Patrol agents did not share Mayorkas' assessment.
00:42:52.000 One agent said, Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Control Council, also disputed the border is secure, pointing not only to the drug flows into the United States, but also the number of migrants that get past agents.
00:43:07.000 A high-level CBP source told Fox News last month, there have been 440,000 known gotaways since the fiscal year began in October.
00:43:15.000 Almost half a million people are known gotaways, meaning not people who were captured by Border Patrol and then we release them with a date for them to come back to court to make an asylum claim.
00:43:25.000 No, that means there are almost half a million people who have entered the country and they know they got away, which means the number is way higher because there are a lot of people who are unknown gotaways.
00:43:32.000 That means probably you have three quarters of a million people who have crossed the border and nobody knows about it.
00:43:37.000 Combined with the 400,000 known gotaways since the beginning of fiscal year 2021, that means that more than 800,000 illegal immigrants have gotten past agents since October of 2020 alone.
00:43:46.000 800,000.
00:43:47.000 Those are the ones we know about.
00:43:49.000 Which means well over a million people have entered the country since October 2020 without going through any sort of capture or screening by Border Patrol.
00:43:58.000 And we've got the Department of Homeland Security telling us that everything is just fine.
00:44:03.000 Judd told Fox News Digital, quote, Secretary Mayorkas knows the cartels use illegal border crossers to facilitate their higher value contraband, including criminal aliens and fentanyl.
00:44:11.000 Secretary Mayorkas knows we have the least secure border in our history, as evidenced by the nearly 1 million known gotaways and over 100,000 overdose deaths from narcotics coming across our southwest border.
00:44:21.000 Absolutely true.
00:44:22.000 You wonder why Joe Biden remains extraordinarily unpopular?
00:44:24.000 Again, it's basically because his policies are garbage and then his administration lies about them.
00:44:29.000 Alrighty, we'll be back here later today with an additional hour of content.
