Summary

Hillary Clinton was on the Hill today, testifying before the House Select Committee on Benghazi, and she laid it on thick when she explained how much she really, truly, truly loved Chris Stevens. She then said she took responsibility for what had happened in Benghazi and then blamed him for wearing a short skirt. She said that Stevens understood the risks of the job and she wouldn t want the tragedy of his death to be compounded by a bunker mentality among diplomats, meaning that they don t go out and hang out with the people. She also said that her lack of email with regard to Libyan security in the run-up to the attacks wasn t due to negligence, or because she had put it off on some subordinate, but because she didn t use her private server at all. And the most important takeaway? This caring, generous, kind-hearted woman was happy, happy to cast aspersions against a dead man in Benghazi. A dead man she had rejected additional security requests for. She didn t explain why she blamed a YouTube video for the Benghazi attacks in the first place. Her emails even showed that she emailed her family the night of the attacks, blaming what she called an Al Qaeda-like group. It s clear that she wanted to invade her own reality, because we all know what a liar she is, and the only reason she did it is because we ve all been paying attention to what she's been saying for the past five years: she's a liar. Ben Shapiro: Hillary Clinton is a liar, and it's time and time and again, and time again, she wants to invade Libya because she can be a liar and it s because she s a bad liar. She s a good liar, so she s got it all wrong, and that s what she s going to do, right? And she s gonna get it right, right, no matter what s she s doing it, right right, or wrong, or not or she s not doing it right or not getting it right or not at all in this episode of The Weekly Standard of The Ben Shapiro on Ben Shapiro's new book, The Dark Side of the Truth? . The Devil sucking it up, Ben Shapiro the truth, the truth s coming out of it, the whole thing, the lie s coming to the surface, the lies we ve been waiting for it, and we re getting it all out.

Transcript

00:00:00.000 We already knew that Hillary Clinton is a giant, giant, giant liar.
00:00:05.000 Today she sank to a new low.
00:00:06.000 She blamed Ambassador Chris Stevens for his own death in the Benghazi terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2012.
00:00:13.000 She was appearing before the House Select Committee on Benghazi and she laid it on incredibly thick when she explained how much she really, truly loved, cared for Chris Stevens.
00:00:22.000 She said, I'm here to honor those we lost and to do what I can to aid those who serve us still, which all sounds very pretty.
00:00:29.000 I've never done that with my friends.
00:00:50.000 Clinton's State Department refused over and over again to grant requests for additional security to Chris Stevens.
00:00:56.000 He asked them over and over again.
00:00:57.000 His very last diary entry before he was murdered in the terrorist attacks on Benghazi, September 11, 2012, said, quote,
00:01:06.000 Hillary, however, she said that Chris Stevens felt comfortable in Benghazi.
00:01:11.000 She then said she took responsibility for what had happened in Benghazi and then blamed him for wearing a short skirt, essentially.
00:01:17.000 She said that Stevens understood the risks of the job and she wouldn't want the tragedy of his death to be compounded by a bunker mentality among diplomats, meaning that they don't go out and hang out with the people.
00:01:28.000 She said that Stevens felt comfortable on the ground, even though there was no evidence to that at all, and repeated cables asking for additional security turned down by her own State Department.
00:01:37.000 Now, is Hillary culpable?
00:01:39.000 Well, she said, no, I'm not culpable.
00:01:40.000 She actually said that she was both fully aware of the situation on the ground, so she wasn't negligent, but then she was totally out of the loop with regard to the decision making.
00:01:49.000 She also said that her lack of email with regard to Libyan security in the run-up to the attacks wasn't due to negligence or because she had
00:02:08.000 Put it off on some subordinate.
00:02:10.000 Instead, she said she didn't use email at all very much.
00:02:13.000 She faxed her things, and people brought her hard copies of documents and briefcases.
00:02:18.000 She even said she didn't have a computer in her office.
00:02:21.000 Of course, all of this would be perfectly checkable if, for example, she had a State Department email address, if she didn't have, say, a private server.
00:02:28.000 If she hadn't, say, deleted like 30,000 emails, then we could actually check if this is true.
00:02:32.000 We can't, because she deleted all the emails and had her own private server.
00:02:37.000 Now, even if Hillary's story were true, it's pretty telling that she regularly exchanged emails with Clinton hitman Sidney Blumenthal, but that Chris Stevens didn't have her private email address.
00:02:46.000 So she would email with Sidney Blumenthal over and over about Libya, but Chris Stevens, who's in Libya as her ambassador and is in danger, he doesn't have her private email address.
00:02:55.000 So much with that personal, close relationship with the dead man.
00:02:59.000 Those weren't Hillary's only stumbles today.
00:03:01.000 She said the Accountability Review Board, which was stacked with Hillary's allies, and didn't interview her at all.
00:03:06.000 She said they did a hard-hitting report, even though the report is garbage.
00:03:10.000 She didn't explain why she blamed a YouTube video for the Benghazi attacks in the first place.
00:03:15.000 Her emails even showed that she emailed her family the night of the attacks, blaming what she called an Al-Qaeda-like group.
00:03:22.000 She admitted or feigned ignorance that the State Department had been meeting with Al Qaeda members in Libya before the attacks.
00:03:28.000 The most important takeaway though?
00:03:30.000 This caring, generous, kind-hearted woman was happy, happy to cast aspersions against a dead man in Benghazi.
00:03:39.000 A dead man she had rejected additional security requests for.
00:03:43.000 Hillary said he knew the risks,
00:03:45.000 Well, he didn't.
00:03:46.000 He didn't know the risks of working for a dangerous liar like Hillary Clinton.
00:03:50.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:03:50.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.
00:03:52.000 Okay, folks, so Hillary Clinton was on the Hill today talking with the House Select Committee on Benghazi, and she was just lying up a storm, but she appeared calm.
00:04:07.000 She appeared
00:04:09.000 Like, she was in control.
00:04:10.000 And the media were all touting her appearance.
00:04:12.000 They were saying that she just looked great.
00:04:13.000 It was a great performance, which of course begs the question, why exactly is it that when somebody is called to testify in an open hearing, it's the level of the performance the media is concerned with?
00:04:23.000 Wouldn't you be concerned more with, like, the level of the truth of what the person's saying?
00:04:27.000 It just demonstrates what a liar she is, truthfully, what a liar she is, that all they're focused on is the level of her performance.
00:04:34.000 What she said today was truly
00:04:35.000 Evil and egregious.
00:04:36.000 I mean, she said that Chris Stevens was basically responsible for his own death.
00:04:40.000 And the reality is that Chris Stevens died because Hillary Clinton decided she wanted to invade Libya, because she wanted her big macho moment.
00:04:47.000 So we invaded Libya for no apparent reason.
00:04:49.000 And then, after it turned into a terrorist tell-all, she was hesitant to admit it had turned into a terrorist tell-all, so she didn't give Chris Stevens additional security.
00:04:56.000 Plus, apparently, according to the hearings today, there were emails that were showing
00:05:00.000 That Chris Stevens was meeting with terrorists in what was essentially a gun buyback program from terrorists, which was utterly ineffective, and it ended up with him dead.
00:05:10.000 Of course, Hillary said today she had her emotional outburst about halfway through the morning hearing.
00:05:15.000 She said in the morning hearing that no one had lost more sleep over this whole situation than Hillary Clinton had.
00:05:21.000 Well, she didn't lose a lot of sleep the night Chris Stevens died.
00:05:23.000 She got all of her sleep the night Chris Stevens died.
00:05:26.000 And I'm sure she has lost a lot of sleep since then, considering that it could hurt her presidential chances.
00:05:30.000 But the good news for Hillary is she now has an unobstructed path to the nomination.
00:05:35.000 Joe Biden, yesterday, the vice president announced that he was out.
00:05:37.000 He was not going to run for president of the United States.
00:05:40.000 He said it was all because of his son, Beau.
00:05:42.000 He said Beau died and we were all grieving and then we sort of ran out of time, but otherwise I would have run.
00:05:47.000 It's not true.
00:05:48.000 I'm sure he is grieving, of course.
00:05:50.000 Obviously, all of our sympathies go to him and his family on that.
00:05:53.000 But the idea that his son's grieving process, the grieving process for his son, was really responsible for him not running is sheer nonsense.
00:06:00.000 He could have jumped in next week.
00:06:02.000 He could have jumped in next month.
00:06:03.000 There actually still is time.
00:06:05.000 What happened is that he looked at all of the donors and he looked at all of the numbers and he figured he wasn't going to win anyway, so why not just go out on top?
00:06:11.000 Go out as a vice president.
00:06:13.000 Well known for his myriad stupid sayings, as opposed to a candidate who's failed.
00:06:18.000 What is it now?
00:06:19.000 He tried to run in 84, but didn't.
00:06:20.000 He ran in 88 and lost.
00:06:22.000 He considered running in 1992, but didn't.
00:06:25.000 He considered running in 2000, but didn't.
00:06:27.000 He considered running in 2004, but didn't.
00:06:30.000 He ran in 2008 and lost.
00:06:31.000 And now he's considered running and didn't.
00:06:33.000 So he basically has spent his entire career thinking about or running for president.
00:06:38.000 Well, in his speech yesterday,
00:06:40.000 Which will long be forgotten.
00:06:43.000 He receded into the hairline of history, but before doing so, he gave this really telling speech because it just shows how incoherent the left's ideas are.
00:06:52.000 And because Joe Biden is out of the race, by the way, Hillary Clinton, don't worry about the Benghazi hearings.
00:06:56.000 They don't mean anything to the media.
00:06:57.000 The media will pretend they don't exist and that Hillary Clinton is a wonder child and that the Republicans are all mean and nasty.
00:07:03.000 That they're asking partisan questions.
00:07:05.000 See, it's not... Here's the deal, folks.
00:07:06.000 In a nutshell, it's not partisan to invade Libya for partisan reasons.
00:07:10.000 It's not partisan to deny security for partisan reasons.
00:07:13.000 It's not partisan to set up a private server and delete your emails for partisan reasons.
00:07:17.000 It's not partisan to take emails from Sidney Blumenthal.
00:07:20.000 It's not partisan to set up a partisan accountability review board.
00:07:23.000 It is partisan to ask questions about any of those things.
00:07:26.000 That's the media's narrative today.
00:07:27.000 Anyway, back to Joe Biden for a second.
00:07:29.000 Joe Biden's speech was telling in that it sort of spilled out
00:07:33.000 Drunk uncle fashion.
00:07:35.000 Exactly what Democrats think all the time.
00:07:37.000 I mean, Joe Biden was accused back in the 80s and had plagiarized speeches from a British politician named Neil Kinnock.
00:07:44.000 Neil Kinnock was not available to plagiarize from, so Joe Biden instead decided to plagiarize from a drunk homeless man that he found on the street the day before.
00:07:52.000 So he announced he wasn't gonna run for president, and then he proceeded to give his presidential nomination speech.
00:07:58.000 He gave a stump speech for about 15 minutes, and it was,
00:08:02.000 Telling and somewhat entertaining only because of the incoherence.
00:08:06.000 Let's go through a little bit of what Vice President Joe Biden had to say.
00:08:11.000 This party, our nation, will be making a tragic mistake if we walk away or attempt to undo the Obama legacy.
00:08:22.000 The American people have worked too hard and we've come too far for that.
00:08:28.000 Democrats should not only defend this record and protect this record, they should run on the record.
00:08:37.000 We cannot sustain the current levels of inequality.
00:08:42.000 Pause it right there for a second.
00:08:44.000 OK, so we have to run on the Obama record.
00:08:47.000 It's the greatest record that ever was.
00:08:48.000 It's my record.
00:08:49.000 It's his record.
00:08:50.000 Also, things are awful.
00:08:52.000 Also, things suck radically.
00:08:54.000 And we have to run away from them as fast as possible.
00:08:56.000 We have to fix all of the great things that we just did.
00:08:59.000 All of those wonderful things, we must fix them.
00:09:00.000 And if we don't fix them, then we have let down the next generation.
00:09:04.000 That's where the incoherence starts, but that's not where the incoherence ends.
00:09:07.000 Let's continue with Uncle Joe.
00:09:09.000 By the way, he termed himself at some point during this speech, Middle Class Joe.
00:09:13.000 He said, oh, the media, they're constantly calling me Middle Class Joe.
00:09:15.000 No one except for Joe Biden has ever called Joe Biden Middle Class Joe.
00:09:19.000 No one has ever called Joe Biden Middle Class Joe.
00:09:21.000 They call him Uncle Joe because he's kind of an idiot.
00:09:25.000 Here's Joe Biden continuing.
00:09:29.000 I believe the huge sums of unlimited and often secret money pouring into our politics is a fundamental threat to our democracy.
00:09:38.000 And I really mean that.
00:09:39.000 We need to commit to 16 years of free public education for all our children.
00:09:44.000 Okay, let's pause it again.
00:09:45.000 Okay, so, then he goes after the Citizens United decision.
00:09:48.000 Ah, there's all sorts of money flowing into our politics.
00:09:50.000 This is the guy who's taken so much money from the unions, it would make your head spin.
00:09:54.000 The Obama administration, Obama's the only candidate in American history who converted his actual campaign operation into a separate organization just to raise money for his causes.
00:10:04.000 Obama for America, OFA, became organizing for action.
00:10:10.000 Right?
00:10:10.000 OFA.
00:10:11.000 After he won his election.
00:10:12.000 He actually just kept it running as a separate interest group and raised money using it.
00:10:16.000 Media Matters is out there picking up George Soros' money.
00:10:18.000 Talk about Clinton Global Initiative, anybody.
00:10:21.000 But according to Joe Biden, the real problem is unaccountable money in politics.
00:10:24.000 Of course, all from right-wingers.
00:10:26.000 And then he gets into free education, and Bernie Sanders has been preaching free education, free college education for everybody.
00:10:32.000 It is worth noting a couple of things.
00:10:34.000 One of the reasons that Americans are so indebted right now is because they've all taken out loans to go to college.
00:10:39.000 One of the reasons they took out loans to go to college is because they were told that if they go to college, they'll have a job afterward.
00:10:45.000 And they don't have a job afterward because majoring in lesbian dance theory, it turns out, is not great.
00:10:50.000 Qualification for being Vice President at Chase Manhattan Bank.
00:10:53.000 It is great qualification for sitting out in an Occupy tent and crapping yourself.
00:10:57.000 But aside from that, there are no other qualifications.
00:11:00.000 But the Obama administration and the left have been telling everybody they need to go to college.
00:11:03.000 There are no jobs available for people after high school.
00:11:06.000 Right, so what they did by making high school free and college cheap is they drove everybody to finish high school and then go to college.
00:11:12.000 But because everybody was doing that, they decided they had to also water down what high school was.
00:11:17.000 So people graduate from high school and have no qualifications anymore, whereas it used to be if you graduated from high school, you were actually qualified to do a few things.
00:11:24.000 Now you're qualified to do nothing.
00:11:26.000 And then you go to college where you're even less qualified to do things.
00:11:29.000 So now he wants to make that free.
00:11:31.000 So everybody will then go to college.
00:11:33.000 Which will then be watered down, because it's free.
00:11:36.000 And we don't want to be spending unlimited sums of money, so we'll have to push people out the other end of college.
00:11:41.000 And then we'll have to make grad school free.
00:11:43.000 And eventually it'll turn out that you'll go to school when you're five, and you'll leave when you're 80, and you'll work for two years, and then you'll be owed 17 years of back wages on Social Security.
00:11:51.000 That's the eventual plan here.
00:11:53.000 Joe Biden continues, and he has big thoughts about what the country should be like, Joe Biden.
00:11:57.000 And it's a pity he didn't run, not because he's smart or because he's good, but because he's wildly entertaining.
00:12:02.000 I mean, this little speech that he gave here was more entertaining than anything Hillary Clinton has ever done in her entire life.
00:12:09.000 Oh, the 12 years of public education is not enough.
00:12:13.000 Children and child care is the one biggest barrier for working families.
00:12:20.000 OK, let's pause there for one second.
00:12:22.000 Children and child care is the biggest barrier for working families are.
00:12:27.000 Number one.
00:12:28.000 Second of all, by the way, Bush got clobbered over this sort of stuff.
00:12:31.000 I mean, when Bush used the singular as opposed to the plural, they made calendars out of it, right?
00:12:36.000 Joe Biden says this kind of stuff routinely, no big deal.
00:12:39.000 Children, I love that Democrats pretend to care about children when they are aborting them en masse all over the United States.
00:12:45.000 A million children a year.
00:12:46.000 Usually they don't have to worry about childcare because they kill the kids before they have the chance to be born.
00:12:50.000 It's very convenient.
00:12:51.000 It means that you really don't have to worry about cost containment because they're dead.
00:12:54.000 But then he wants free childcare for everyone.
00:12:57.000 And that free childcare will of course be paid for by the people who are still working.
00:13:02.000 Right?
00:13:02.000 Those people who theoretically could be married taking care of their own children.
00:13:06.000 See, I don't need free childcare for my kid because I work.
00:13:10.000 I don't need free childcare for my kid because my wife works.
00:13:13.000 And if we couldn't afford it, then my wife or I would stay home with the kid, and one of us would work, and we would take care of our child.
00:13:19.000 But apparently now I'm supposed to take money away from my kid to give to somebody else so that they can neglect and pay no attention to their child, which is really exciting.
00:13:27.000 Joe Biden continues along these lines, and here's where we get to the heart of the matter.
00:13:30.000 What government can do and what government cannot do.
00:13:32.000 Wait until you hear what Joe Biden has to say about foreign policy versus what he thinks government ought to do about cancer.
00:13:40.000 ...more by the power of our example, as the President has, than merely by the example of our power.
00:13:46.000 We have to accept the fact that we can't solve all the world's problems.
00:13:51.000 We can't solve many of them alone.
00:13:56.000 The argument that we just have to do something
00:13:59.000 When bad people do bad things isn't good enough.
00:14:03.000 I believe we have to end the divisive partisan politics.
00:14:07.000 We'll get to his take on cancer in just one second.
00:14:09.000 But Joe Biden, when he says, number one, we have to, I hate, I hate that all politicians feel the need for what they call rhetorical inversions.
00:14:18.000 Right?
00:14:18.000 Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.
00:14:23.000 Okay?
00:14:24.000 When you think about that for more than five seconds, you realize it makes zero sense.
00:14:27.000 It actually makes zero sense.
00:14:28.000 It sounds great because it's a rhetorical inversion, which always sounds good, but it doesn't mean anything.
00:14:32.000 Because the truth is, you shouldn't be asking either what your country can do for you or what you can do for your country.
00:14:37.000 You should be asking
00:14:39.000 What you can do for your family, and if your country is going to protect your right to do those things, right?
00:14:44.000 The rhetorical inver—like, if you just asked what you could do for your country, you'd be a communist.
00:14:47.000 If that were your only question, what can you do for your country, you'd be a communist.
00:14:51.000 And if you asked what your country could do for you only, you would also be a communist, right?
00:14:55.000 So both sides of the phrase don't make sense, and they don't make sense in conjunction either.
00:14:59.000 Biden does the same thing there.
00:15:00.000 He says we have to lead by the power of our example as opposed to the example of our power.
00:15:06.000 First of all, power doesn't set an example.
00:15:09.000 Power is just what it is.
00:15:10.000 And second of all, the power of our example has not made ISIS surrender, and it's not going to anytime soon.
00:15:18.000 And then when he starts talking about divisive partisanship and all this, this is the guy, remember, this guy, who said that Mitt Romney was gonna put y'all back in chains.
00:15:26.000 And he's the king of non-partisanship now.
00:15:29.000 It's very exciting that we're led by such illustrious leaders.
00:15:32.000 Here, the part that really pissed me off about this speech, though, is what Joe Biden had to say about cancer, because this is so, it's just, yuck.
00:15:39.000 I'll explain.
00:15:42.000 I think we can.
00:15:43.000 It's mean-spirited.
00:15:44.000 It's petty.
00:15:46.000 And I believe we need a moonshot in this country to cure cancer.
00:15:50.000 It's personal.
00:15:52.000 But I know we can do this.
00:15:53.000 If I could be anything, I would have wanted to be the president that ended cancer.
00:15:59.000 Because it's possible.
00:16:01.000 Okay, stop.
00:16:02.000 Okay, he, he, okay.
00:16:04.000 So, government can't stop ISIS.
00:16:07.000 Government can't stop Russia.
00:16:09.000 But government can stop cancer.
00:16:12.000 This is what the Democrats believe.
00:16:13.000 Democrats believe that government can stop global warming, cancer, and farts.
00:16:18.000 Government can do anything.
00:16:19.000 Government can do anything except the things that it's supposed to do, like protect you.
00:16:23.000 At the same time, literally the same day that Joe Biden was out there saying that government should cure cancer.
00:16:27.000 By the way, Joe, if you want extra funding for curing cancer, I have a few places you could cut in the budget, in your $4 trillion budget.
00:16:34.000 I have a few places that you might be able to look.
00:16:37.000 Right, but no.
00:16:38.000 But the same day, literally the same day that Joe Biden is out there saying that government can cure cancer, the Democrats on the Hill had a party.
00:16:47.000 They had a party to celebrate the Iran deal.
00:16:50.000 They invited a full string quartet to play a party in the halls of Congress to celebrate an Iran deal that gives a nuclear weapon to Iran in 10 years, and in the meantime, funds their terrorist enterprise throughout the Middle East.
00:17:03.000 So government can't stop Iran, but government can cure cancer.
00:17:05.000 Okay, note to Joe Biden, government cannot cure cancer.
00:17:09.000 It can't.
00:17:10.000 Scientists can cure cancer.
00:17:12.000 And if the suggestion is we need more government funding for cancer research, okay, well I'm open to the idea of more government funding for cancer research, but how about we start cutting
00:17:21.000 All of the crap that government is fighting.
00:17:23.000 Government's fighting a war on poverty.
00:17:24.000 Government's fighting a war on drugs.
00:17:25.000 You can't fight inanimate objects.
00:17:27.000 Okay?
00:17:27.000 You just can't.
00:17:28.000 It's not a war on cancer.
00:17:30.000 And it's not government's job to cure cancer.
00:17:32.000 It's government's job to stay out of the way.
00:17:33.000 First of all, you don't believe there's a lot of private funding of attempts to cure cancer right now?
00:17:38.000 I'll tell you why there's not enough private funding.
00:17:40.000 It's because of Obamacare.
00:17:42.000 Obamacare just created a medical device tax.
00:17:45.000 That means that medical devices, new innovations, are being taxed at a very, very high rate in order to fund Obamacare.
00:17:51.000 The same administration, Joe Biden's administration, that administration, where he's saying that cancer has to be fought.
00:17:58.000 Yesterday, the American Cancer Society came out and said that they were raising the standard for when women should have mammograms from 40 to 45.
00:18:06.000 They didn't do that because women after age 40 don't need mammograms.
00:18:09.000 They did that because Obamacare is not going to cover mammograms for women beyond a certain age.
00:18:14.000 And the idea is, by the way, between 40 and 45, if you stop doing mammograms, 14,000 women in America a year fail to get diagnosed and die of breast cancer if you fail to do mammograms in those five years.
00:18:24.000 But Obamacare tries to ration care, and of course it's not as cost-effective to screen younger people.
00:18:30.000 So the administration that's cracking the whip on the medical industry
00:18:36.000 The same—Hillary Clinton declared the pharmaceutical industry her enemy, the drug industry her enemy, in the last Democratic debate, and he's saying that he wants to cure cancer.
00:18:47.000 Democrats truly believe that government can do anything except the things that government can actually do.
00:18:51.000 And the beauty of that perspective is it means that when government doesn't accomplish anything, the answer is always more government.
00:18:57.000 Because if you believe that government is always the cure no matter what, and you take some government that doesn't cure you, well, the answer is you need more government to cure you.
00:19:06.000 You need more government to cure you.
00:19:07.000 Now, all of this is just utopianism.
00:19:10.000 It's just all utopian garbage nonsense.
00:19:13.000 And it's not unexpected that it comes from Joe Biden.
00:19:17.000 But it's bled over into so many other areas of American life.
00:19:20.000 It really has.
00:19:21.000 For example, for example, the Democrats truly believe that they should be able to regulate anything and everything.
00:19:26.000 They should be able to control everything.
00:19:27.000 And so you have people like Luis Gutierrez, congressman, he says that Donald Trump shouldn't be able to appear on Saturday Night Live.
00:19:33.000 He actually wants, if he could, he would like the government to crack down and stop Donald Trump from appearing on Saturday Night Live.
00:19:38.000 There's not one area of American life, maybe we can play him, there's not one area of American life that Democrats don't want to control
00:19:45.000 Except the area where they actually protect your rights.
00:19:48.000 Here's Luis Gutierrez from the floor of the house.
00:19:51.000 Well, NBC installing Trump as NSL host may be good for ratings, but it is a bigger deal than a cameo or a Tonight Show guest.
00:20:02.000 And I'm calling you out.
00:20:04.000 If Donald Trump had said gays and lesbians were murderers and raping Americans, would he get to host the show?
00:20:11.000 It is every bit as much a fiction and a lie.
00:20:15.000 Donald Trump has said some pretty awful things about women individually and collectively, but what if he said most women were criminals?
00:20:22.000 Would the writers be thinking up of sketches for Trump if he had slandered an entire gender rather than an entire ethnic group?
00:20:30.000 Okay, this is a government actor.
00:20:32.000 The First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States, Congress shall pass no law respecting freedom of speech, right?
00:20:38.000 You can't impinge on freedom of speech.
00:20:39.000 So what's he talking about?
00:20:41.000 Why is he even on the floor of the House?
00:20:42.000 But government can do anything.
00:20:44.000 For the Democrats, government can do anything.
00:20:46.000 And the fact is, truthfully, government can't really do much of anything.
00:20:50.000 Government is bad at most things.
00:20:51.000 Government is terrible at most things.
00:20:53.000 Even in the Department of Defense, there's so much waste and so much just fat that could be cut by all available accounts.
00:21:01.000 But the difference is that government is the only actor that's capable of actually fielding a full-scale army with weaponry.
00:21:06.000 So you sort of have to accept that waste exists.
00:21:08.000 I mean, the army is not the most efficient place.
00:21:10.000 But you accept it because that's what, it's the only
00:21:13.000 It's the only entity that is capable of doing what it does.
00:21:16.000 The same is not true in all these other areas of American life.
00:21:19.000 Naturally, the Democrats neglect the areas of American life where the government is unnecessary.
00:21:23.000 Those are the places they believe government is most necessary.
00:21:26.000 Well, all this has been very dark and down, and so we figured that we'd
00:21:30.000 We'd part with you today with a video.
00:21:33.000 And folks, for subscribers, you'll really enjoy this.
00:21:35.000 If you're not subscribing, it'll just sound like a crazy guy beating the bongos.
00:21:38.000 But for subscribers, you'll enjoy this video.
00:21:40.000 This is a video of Bernie Sanders from the last debate.
00:21:42.000 Bernie Sanders, of course, has his wild hand motions explaining what socialism is and is not.
00:21:48.000 And Huffington Post, they, well, you'll see.
00:21:53.000 You'll see.
00:21:53.000 Here we go.
00:22:02.000 Yes, that is Bernie Sanders beating on bongos, folks.
00:22:05.000 Play you off with this.
00:22:18.000 I am Ben Shapiro.
00:22:18.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.
00:22:33.000 Some of the candidates have tried marijuana, as have pretty much probably everybody in this room.
