Summary

After a long and boring speech on Thursday night, Hillary Clinton finally took to the stage. She wore all white, like an angel. Like a saint. Like an erased server. For 57 interminable minutes, the grating old crone spake nonsense into the gaping ears of a gullible media. She spoonfed them lies about policy. She dropped phrases so hackneyed they ought to have been roasted over an open fire. Still, the media cheered. No matter that the Bernie bros made trouble throughout, chanting against her, no matter that at certain points Hillary s face turned Bilbo Baggins, yearning after Frodo's ring. The media, like Samwise Gamgee, would try to carry her over the finish line. She's simply too heavy for any mortal to bear. Her candidacy is an albatross, a millstone. 00:00:00.000 On Thursday night, after an interminable speech by boring young Chelsea Clinton introducing her boring old mother Hillary Clinton, Hillary finally took to the stage.
00:00:08.000 She wore all white.
00:00:09.000 Like an angel.
00:00:10.000 Like a saint.
00:00:11.000 Like an erased server.
00:00:13.000 And she proceeded to talk.
00:00:15.000 And talk.
00:00:17.000 For 57 interminable minutes, the grating old crone spake nonsense into the gaping ears of a gullible media.
00:00:23.000 She spoon-fed them lies about policy.
00:00:25.000 She dropped phrases so hackneyed they ought to have been roasted over an open fire.
00:00:29.000 Still, the media cheered.
00:00:31.000 No matter that the Bernie bros made trouble throughout, chanting against her.
00:00:34.000 No matter that at certain points Hillary's face turned Bilbo Baggins, yearning after Frodo's ring.
00:00:39.000 The media, like Samwise Gamgee, would try to carry her over the finish line.
00:00:43.000 She's simply too heavy for any mortal to bear.
00:00:45.000 Her candidacy is an albatross, a millstone.
00:00:48.000 The speech wasn't just boring.
00:00:49.000 It was ear cancer.
00:00:50.000 It was Ebola of the cochlea.
00:00:51.000 She said nothing, and she said it badly.
00:00:54.000 One thing is clear.
00:00:54.000 Chelsea Clinton clearly got mom's gift of gab.
00:00:57.000 Perhaps the only memorable moments were these.
00:00:59.000 Hillary attempting to look lifelike, instead reciting her speech with the robotic uncanny valley creepiness to which we've all become accustomed.
00:01:06.000 Ernie Sanders nearly weeping when Hillary name-checked him.
00:01:09.000 His face actually changed momentarily as he grinned the mirthless grin of pure, unadulterated rage.
00:01:14.000 Hillary glaring at the audience that refused to accept her seizure of the Iron Throne.
00:01:18.000 Bill glancing around, dazed and happy at the thought that perhaps...
00:01:21.000 Just maybe, Hilary would be out of the house for another four years.
00:01:24.000 Hilary, talking of glass ceilings, forgetting nobody thinks she got where she is legitimately.
00:01:28.000 The media furiously pleasuring itself to the pleasant tones of Hilary's rocks-in-the-garbage-disposal delivery.
00:01:34.000 And Hilary cackling at her own wit, the soul-sucking giggle of the damned.
00:01:38.000 No, this won't help Hilary much, at least how could it?
00:01:41.000 At least half her allies died of old age in the middle of the speech, prematurely aged by the sour lemon oratory.
00:01:46.000 The ratings for the speech must be great, before viewers died they forgot to turn the channel.
00:01:50.000 But no matter, there are three more months of this horror.
00:01:52.000 Somewhere, Mitt Romney weeps he didn't have the courage to jump into the race.
00:01:56.000 Somewhere, Gary Johnson feels a momentary pang of hope, which he then quickly snuffs out with a blunt.
00:02:00.000 Somewhere, the American people, the people who aren't convinced in their politics by Katy Perry, or another rendition of the terrible fight song, think about the end.
00:02:08.000 This is the political apocalypse.
00:02:10.000 And we're only just getting started.
00:02:12.000 Happy Monday, gang.
00:02:12.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:02:13.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.
00:02:21.000 So, first of all, we want to thank our sponsor, Ring.com.
00:02:24.000 So I have Ring.com, I have one of these Ring devices on the gate at my house, and it's fantastic.
00:02:29.000 The way this thing works is that when somebody rings your doorbell, you can actually set it for motion sensor.
00:02:33.000 If somebody even walks up to your doorbell, then suddenly the camera goes on and you can check your cell phone, you can see who's approaching your house.
00:02:39.000 And this is important because most of the burglaries that happen in the United States, there's a burglary like every 13 seconds, most of the burglaries happen in broad daylight with a burglar ringing a doorbell to see if you're home and then breaking into your house.
00:02:50.000 Well, Ring Video Doorbell,
00:02:51.000 They don't know that you're not home because it rings directly to your phone and you can talk directly to them and you can tell who's there so they're on tape.
00:02:57.000 Ring uses their advanced motion detection technology to protect your entire property.
00:03:01.000 They have something called the Ring of Security Kit, which includes that Ring video doorbell for the front door and a Ring Stick Up Cam, which is a wireless weatherproof HD camera which keeps an eye on all the other parts of your property.
00:03:13.000 Ring Video Doorbell and Stick Up Cam, they both install in minutes.
00:03:15.000 I've installed them myself.
00:03:17.000 I have this at my house.
00:03:18.000 My wife loves it.
00:03:18.000 I love it.
00:03:19.000 It's great.
00:03:19.000 I mean, my wife can tell while she's at work.
00:03:21.000 She's a resident at a local hospital.
00:03:23.000 She can tell who's at home.
00:03:24.000 She can tell if somebody is trying to break into the house.
00:03:27.000 She can tell all that and call the cops.
00:03:29.000 It's a really, really great device.
00:03:30.000 Ring.com slash Ben to find it.
00:03:33.000 And my listeners do get $50 off that Ring of Security Kit.
00:03:35.000 It's a great deal.
00:03:36.000 It's so good that I'm actually getting a second one
00:03:38.000 I've actually bought devices from Ring.com.
00:03:40.000 I get free stuff from them because they're an advertiser.
00:03:42.000 I've gone out and bought additional stuff for myself because I think it's such a great product.
00:03:45.000 It's Ring.com slash Ben.
00:03:47.000 Make sure you have the slash Ben there so they know that we sent you.
00:03:50.000 Ring.com slash Ben for $50 off.
00:03:51.000 That's Ring.com slash Ben.
00:03:53.000 Okay, so one of the problems that we have here on this show is that we don't have Friday programs.
00:03:57.000 We're going to have to start doing that.
00:03:58.000 In the near future, because too much has been happening on Thursday night.
00:04:01.000 Last Thursday night, don't worry, we'll get to Donald Trump and the whole Kaiser-Kahn thing, and we'll get to Hillary Clinton and the lie she told on the Sunday shows, we'll get to me being banned from DePaul University.
00:04:12.000 Basically, it's just another day ending in Y when all this crap goes on.
00:04:15.000 But let's start off the day by rehashing what happened last Thursday night, because that leads into the whole story.
00:04:20.000 So finally, the Democrats have their triumphant moment.
00:04:23.000 They have their triumphant moment in the sun.
00:04:24.000 Hillary, after decades of lusting after the presidency, like Gollum lusting after the ring, Hillary finally got her grubby hands on it.
00:04:32.000 All she had to do was somehow survive for 7,000 years and suck the lifeblood of 324 virgins in order to get there.
00:04:39.000 Chelsea Clinton was the one who introduced mommy.
00:04:42.000 And let's just put it this way, Chelsea Clinton definitely did not get daddy's gift of gab.
00:04:46.000 Hillary definitely has the dominant genetics here.
00:04:51.000 I'm here as a proud American, a proud Democrat, a proud mother, and tonight in particular, a very, very proud daughter.
00:05:13.000 Mark and I can't quite believe it, but our daughter Charlotte is nearly two years old.
00:05:21.000 She loves Elmo.
00:05:24.000 She loves blueberries.
00:05:27.000 And above all, she loves FaceTiming with Grandma.
00:05:34.000 My mom can be about to walk on stage for a debate or a speech and it just doesn't matter.
00:05:41.000 She'll drop everything for a few minutes of blowing kisses and reading Chugga Chugga Choo Choo with her granddaughter.
00:05:50.000 Okay, so Hillary—she goes—Chelsea goes on like this for almost seven hours.
00:05:54.000 And then finally, she introduces her mother.
00:05:56.000 I thought—it occurred to me as she was speaking that maybe this was actually a brilliant move by the Clinton campaign.
00:06:01.000 They found the one woman who's more boring than Hillary Clinton to lead off, so that Hillary looked good by contrast.
00:06:06.000 And then Hillary steps up, and Hillary gives her speech, and it is just awful.
00:06:11.000 I mean, awful, awful.
00:06:12.000 It is so bad.
00:06:13.000 So here was Hillary leading off, and it was—
00:06:16.000 It was not good.
00:06:17.000 First of all, she came in wearing Christian Bale's outfit from Equilibrium, and then she started talking, and it was just, I mean, it made you want to put your head in the oven and turn it up to full heat.
00:06:28.000 Thank you for that amazing welcome.
00:06:36.000 Thank you all for the great convention that we've had.
00:06:46.000 Chelsea, thank you.
00:06:47.000 I am so proud to be your mother and so proud of the woman you've become.
00:06:57.000 I love Bill's face right now.
00:06:59.000 Thank you for bringing Mark into our family and Charlotte and Aiden into the world.
00:07:07.000 And Bill,
00:07:09.000 That conversation we started in the law library 45 years ago.
00:07:15.000 That's hilarious!
00:07:16.000 Where are the interns?
00:07:17.000 This is boring.
00:07:24.000 It is still going strong.
00:07:29.000 Okay, so the reason that people start chanting Hillary here—let me stop it there.
00:07:32.000 The reason people start chanting Hillary is because the Bernie people are booing her.
00:07:36.000 And this happened throughout the convention.
00:07:37.000 The media didn't cover this at all.
00:07:38.000 We'll get to the media coverage of this in just a second.
00:07:40.000 The media thought this was the greatest speech that ever happened, mainly because, like Phineas Gage, they took a poll through the frontal—prefrontal cortex.
00:07:47.000 And there's the famous story about Phineas Gage, this guy who worked on a railroad and he was just walking around one day and there was an industrial accident and he took a pole through the eye and through his brain and it totally changed his personality.
00:07:58.000 The media have done that with Hillary Clinton.
00:07:59.000 They have forcibly inserted a pole through their eye and into their brain so they don't have to see what's actually going on.
00:08:05.000 So this never happened.
00:08:06.000 The people booing Hillary Clinton never happened.
00:08:08.000 And you want to see how bad things were?
00:08:09.000 Here was Hillary Clinton thanking Bernie Sanders.
00:08:12.000 Watch Bernie Sanders' face because it is high-freaking-larious.
00:08:17.000 And I want to thank Bernie Sanders.
00:08:26.000 Oh, my happiness is behind my eyes.
00:08:42.000 Bernie, your campaign inspired millions of Americans, particularly the young people who threw their hearts and souls into our primary.
00:08:55.000 You put economic and social justice issues front and center where they belong.
00:09:07.000 And to all of your supporters here and around the country, I want you to know, I've heard you.
00:09:15.000 Your cause is our cause.
00:09:18.000 She's so robotic and awful at this.
00:09:22.000 I have heard you.
00:09:23.000 Your cause is our cause.
00:09:28.000 Our country needs your ideas, energy, and passion.
00:09:34.000 That is the only way we can turn our progressive platform into real change for America.
00:09:44.000 That is so awful.
00:09:45.000 Okay, so she's awful and awful and awful.
00:09:47.000 And Bernie Sanders is looking there like he wants to vault onto the stage using his cane and then beat her to death with it.
00:09:52.000 I mean, if you can't see the visual, folks, he looks horrible.
00:09:55.000 I mean, he looks angry.
00:09:56.000 He looks like, you stole my primary and now I'm going to come and I'm going to kill you with this walker.
00:10:02.000 I will take the tennis balls off the bottom and I will beat you to death with it.
00:10:05.000 That's what he looks like.
00:10:06.000 And Hillary continues along these lines.
00:10:09.000 And it's just, it's just terrible.
00:10:10.000 So I don't want to belabor the point because it happened last Thursday.
00:10:13.000 Suffice it to say that it was so bad that Bill Clinton legitimately fell asleep in the middle of this crap show speech.
00:10:18.000 I mean, it was an awful speech.
00:10:19.000 Here's Bill Clinton falling asleep, legitimately falling asleep in the middle of his speech.
00:10:22.000 And look at Tim Kaine, who's the vice president sitting next to, the vice presidential candidate sitting next to Bill.
00:10:27.000 He realizes the cameras are on Bill, and you'll see him attempt to swivel his body to block the camera angle so that people can't see Bill snoozing away at his wife.
00:10:37.000 Bill hasn't been interested in anything Hillary has to provide for at least 35 years.
00:10:40.000 People disrupt their efforts online to reach and radicalize young people in our country.
00:10:47.000 It won't be easy or quick, but make no mistake, we will prevail.
00:10:54.000 Now Donald Trump, Donald Trump says, and this is a quote,
00:11:02.000 And Bill is out.
00:11:02.000 Bill's like, I don't care.
00:11:03.000 He's like, I've been here before.
00:11:04.000 I don't care.
00:11:05.000 I'm going to get nailed either way.
00:11:07.000 What do I care?
00:11:08.000 Just sitting here watching this horrible woman.
00:11:10.000 What has my life become?
00:11:12.000 OK, so the media ignore the fact that, number one, the Bernie brothers were making all sorts of trouble, and they ignore the fact that Bill is falling asleep, and they ignore the fact that Hillary is legitimately one of the worst speakers in the history of America.
00:11:23.000 The fact is that she was a better speaker 30 years ago.
00:11:25.000 She's like Arnold Schwarzenegger.
00:11:26.000 Somehow Arnold Schwarzenegger's accent got worse over the course of being in America for the last four decades.
00:11:32.000 Hillary Clinton's speaking style actually got worse over the course of the last four decades.
00:11:36.000 Now it's like her brain has been entirely taken over like Cyborg.
00:11:39.000 She's in a constant battle with her own mechanical brain and now it's completely taken over.
00:11:44.000 It's pretty emotional.
00:11:46.000 I have to tell you, I think Donald Trump's the best thing that ever happened to the Democratic Party.
00:12:10.000 Because he reminded them of what they believe in.
00:12:13.000 The rights and the hopes of immigrants.
00:12:15.000 The freedom of religion in this country.
00:12:19.000 The love of the country itself.
00:12:21.000 The basic gut patriotism which has been on display this week has been sort of receded from the Democrats.
00:12:27.000 They don't show it enough.
00:12:28.000 They don't raise it up.
00:12:30.000 And I think Trump has brought this out in them.
00:12:33.000 He's made it a values election.
00:12:34.000 And the Democrats have embraced American values in an exuberant, almost exhibitionist manner that they've never done before.
00:12:43.000 I mean, suddenly they love America.
00:12:45.000 What do we do?
00:12:45.000 I don't know what to do.
00:12:46.000 I don't really love America.
00:12:47.000 These people don't love America.
00:12:49.000 Trump doesn't like America either, so what do we do?
00:12:50.000 Let's pretend we love America.
00:12:51.000 All of a sudden they love America for the first time in my life.
00:12:53.000 I can come here, first man of the show, down on the set, talk about the flag.
00:12:57.000 It's great!
00:12:58.000 It's great!
00:12:59.000 Suddenly feel this upsurge of patriotism.
00:13:00.000 I don't know why.
00:13:01.000 I don't know what it is.
00:13:02.000 What's it doing here?
00:13:02.000 Who knows?
00:13:03.000 I'm hungry.
00:13:04.000 Let's go away.
00:13:05.000 So, see it, but it's the entire media.
00:13:07.000 They all lose their minds.
00:13:08.000 So CBS fawns over Chelsea Clinton.
00:13:10.000 Now remember, Chelsea Clinton is so untalented a person.
00:13:13.000 Her parents have gotten her everything.
00:13:15.000 She was legitimately hired at like a million dollar salary by, I think it was ABC News, to be a reporter, and they paid her not to be on air because she's so terrible on air.
00:13:24.000 Didn't stop CBS from fawning over her.
00:13:26.000 Oh my god.
00:13:52.000 Proud to be my mother's daughter.
00:13:54.000 Chelsea's challenged tonight.
00:13:55.000 I can't, I can't, I can't.
00:13:57.000 Okay, so her parents used her as a political tool and now she's special.
00:14:00.000 The media continue to lose their mind over Hillary.
00:14:01.000 Here's CNN praising the political genius of Hillary Clinton.
00:14:05.000 Again, I didn't want to show you that much of Hillary Clinton's speech mainly because it makes you want to stab out your own eyes.
00:14:11.000 Like, find a ballpoint pen and just shove it right through your eye into your brain.
00:14:14.000 That's what it makes you want to do because it's so bad.
00:14:16.000 I had to watch this thing.
00:14:17.000 I was on the East Coast because I was speaking at a Young America's Foundation event, and I was up really late, and I was thinking to myself, if this thing goes on another hour, I'm going to have to drown myself.
00:14:26.000 I'm going to have to go into the bathroom, and I'm going to have to fill up the bathtub and open my veins like Frank Pantangeli in Godfather II.
00:14:33.000 Okay, here is CNN losing its mind over Hillary.
00:14:35.000 She answered the question of why, and she also was most passionate, to David's point again, on going after Donald Trump, case by case, issue by issue, on his temperament, on his worldview, on the fact that she is a unifier, on this notion of American exceptionalism.
00:14:57.000 I think here the Democrats got handed the baton after the Republican convention and what we've seen for the past four days.
00:15:05.000 Culminating in this speech is that they ran with it.
00:15:09.000 Look at this speech.
00:15:11.000 You actually see the impact positively of every one of these sort of movements of these young people.
00:15:18.000 You see the Black Lives Matter impact.
00:15:21.000 You see the Sanders supporter impact.
00:15:23.000 You see the Young Dreamers impact, the Fight for 15 impact, the Climate Solutions impact, the LGBT impact, even Occupy Wall Street.
00:15:31.000 All the things that young people can do.
00:15:32.000 Okay, wait a minute, the old Van Jones, a communist on TV telling us all how Hillary's a unifier, which is very, very... So the media, needless to say, they lose their minds for Hillary.
00:15:41.000 This demonstrates one thing.
00:15:42.000 Obviously, and we all knew this, the media are in the tank for Hillary.
00:15:44.000 This has been true since the very beginning.
00:15:46.000 And so I want to make a quick note to our Democratic friends, for all the Democrats out there who today, and we're going to get to Donald Trump and his foibles over the weekend because Donald Trump can't help himself.
00:15:55.000 We'll get to that in a second.
00:15:56.000 But just quick note to our Democratic friends, for all you folks out there, all you Democrats who are out there saying, chortling at these Republicans supporting Donald Trump, Donald Trump, Donald Trump was an aberration.
00:16:08.000 Donald Trump was supposed to be an aberration.
00:16:10.000 He was supposed to be a 100-year aberration.
00:16:12.000 You guys planned this.
00:16:14.000 You wanted it.
00:16:15.000 You wanted Hillary Clinton on that wall.
00:16:17.000 You needed Hillary Clinton on that wall.
00:16:19.000 You begged for Hillary Clinton.
00:16:21.000 And she is just as corrupt.
00:16:22.000 She's just as nasty.
00:16:24.000 She's just as vicious.
00:16:25.000 She's just as unstable.
00:16:27.000 Maybe not quite as unstable, but pretty unstable.
00:16:29.000 Hillary Clinton is a crap show.
00:16:30.000 Hillary Clinton is a disaster, and you wanted it, okay?
00:16:33.000 There are Republicans like me who don't back Trump, who didn't like Trump, who wanted to stop Trump.
00:16:37.000 The Democrats rigged their own system to stop Bernie Sanders so they could get that.
00:16:41.000 So don't you guys start whining about your moral superiority.
00:16:44.000 You have none.
00:16:45.000 You wanted this, okay?
00:16:46.000 Republicans may be reluctantly supporting Trump, people like Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell.
00:16:50.000 You guys are sitting in line to give Hillary Clinton buttock massages, so you didn't get to sit around telling us about moral superiority.
00:16:57.000 Okay, well, there's lots more to come here on The Ben Shapiro Show, but that brings us to the end of our Facebook Live.

00:17:33.000 Well that cowabunga brings us to Donald Trump.
00:17:36.000 So Donald Trump over the weekend, instead of just letting Hillary kind of sit there and be.
00:17:41.000 Donald Trump.
00:17:42.000 Donald Trump.
00:17:43.000 I don't know if he was dropped on his head as a baby or what the story is, but Donald Trump simply cannot help himself.
00:17:48.000 Because Donald Trump, whenever he is poked, he feels the need to punch.
00:17:52.000 And that may be admirable in certain circumstances, but the problem is, when you're poked by a puppy, it's not a good idea to punch the puppy.
00:18:00.000 So, over the course of the DNC, Trump was poked by a puppy.
00:18:03.000 Now, I don't mean to say that the Khan family are harmless in terms of Trump's campaign.
00:18:08.000 They aren't.
00:18:09.000 I don't mean to say that Trump doesn't have a right to be ticked.
00:18:11.000 He does.
00:18:12.000 What I am saying
00:18:14.000 That politically speaking, there are things that I like to call puppies, right?
00:18:16.000 Political characters, political causes, that you just don't touch because it's stupid.
00:18:20.000 And forget about immoral, because what he does here is immoral, but it's also just dumb.
00:18:24.000 It's also just dumb.
00:18:25.000 You have to have been clocked on the head as a very young child by a moving truck in order to do these sorts of things.
00:18:31.000 So, to back up for a second, we talked about this a little bit last week.
00:18:34.000 This family called the Khans, the mother and father, they get up on stage, a Muslim family, and they're talking about their son, who was killed in Iraq in 2004.
00:18:41.000 He was a captain in the army, and he was killed in Iraq in 2004.
00:18:44.000 And here's what, the one who's speaking, his name is Kaiser Khan, here's what he had to say.
00:18:50.000 Donald Trump, you're asking Americans to trust you with their future.
00:18:59.000 Let me ask you,
00:19:02.000 Have you even read the United States Constitution?
00:19:10.000 I will gladly lend you my copy.
00:19:18.000 Look for the words liberty and equal protection of law.
00:19:26.000 Have you ever been to Arlington Cemetery?
00:19:30.000 Go look at the graves of brave patriots who died defending United States of America.
00:19:39.000 You will see all faiths, genders, and ethnicities.
00:19:49.000 You have sacrificed nothing, and no one
00:19:56.000 Okay, so he does this routine, right?
00:19:59.000 And as I said last week, there are a couple of things to note.
00:20:00.000 One is, you can't rip on gold star families, right?
00:20:03.000 You never rip on gold star families, because if you do, it's dumb.
00:20:06.000 Number two, this kind of chicken hawk argument that if you haven't lost somebody in the military, you don't get to speak about policy, it's actually an un-American argument, because we have civilian control of the military here.
00:20:15.000 If you want military members, by the way, to vote on policy, the plurality of military members by every available poll support Trump.
00:20:22.000 And the fact is that if you wanted the military just voting, Republicans would be the only people elected.
00:20:26.000 So this doesn't really wash.
00:20:27.000 It doesn't really wash the idea, okay, we had a son who died in the military, and therefore our prescribed policy is the better policy.
00:20:33.000 That's a silly argument.
00:20:34.000 That doesn't mean that he can't make it.
00:20:36.000 It doesn't mean it's not an effective emotional appeal.
00:20:38.000 But I want to point something out.
00:20:39.000 So let's start, for a second, with how you should respond to stuff like this.
00:20:42.000 So if you remember all the way back to 2005, you go back in the Wayback Machine, Cindy Sheehan was going after George W. Bush.
00:20:49.000 And Cindy Sheehan was
00:20:51.000 You're referring to Mrs. Sheehan here, I think.
00:20:53.000 I'm referring to any grieving mother or father, no matter what their political views may be.
00:20:57.000 You know, part of my duty as the president is to meet with those who've lost a loved one.
00:21:01.000 And so, you know, listen, I sympathize with Mrs. Sheehan.
00:21:03.000 She feels strongly
00:21:22.000 About her position.
00:21:25.000 And she has every right in the world to say what she believes.
00:21:28.000 This is America.
00:21:29.000 She has a right to her position.
00:21:32.000 And I've thought long and hard about her position.
00:21:34.000 I've heard her position from others, which is, get out of Iraq now.
00:21:39.000 And it would be a mistake for the security of this country.
00:21:47.000 And the ability to lay the foundations for peace in the long run if we were to do so.
00:21:51.000 But no, Steve, I've met with a lot of families.
00:21:54.000 And I have done my best to bring comfort to the families and honor to the loved one.
00:22:03.000 And you get different opinions when you meet with moms and dads and sons and daughters and wives and husbands of those who've fallen.
00:22:18.000 One opinion I've come away with universally is that, you know, we should do everything we can to honor the fallen.
00:22:25.000 Okay, I mean, this is, okay, so we can stop it there.
00:22:27.000 So that's George W. Bush circa 2005.
00:22:29.000 It sort of makes you miss the time when there was a little bit of class in politics.
00:22:32.000 I mean, forget about the fact that he wasn't the world's greatest president.
00:22:35.000 He was a good man, and you can see it coming off of him in waves that he's a good man.
00:22:38.000 I mean, this is his response to Cindy Sheehan, who was really going after him and basically calling him a war criminal and a warmonger and accusing him of killing her son.
00:22:45.000 The media, by the way,
00:22:47.000 The fact that Bush was classy did not stop the media from being classless.
00:22:49.000 They ran 100 stories in network news time about Cindy Sheehan and George W. Bush, even though Bush was responding in this classy fashion.
00:22:57.000 But this is how you should respond, right?
00:22:58.000 The way you respond to a Gold Star family that disagrees with you on policy, no matter how hard they hit you, is you say, I have nothing but respect and admiration for Gold Star families whose loved ones made the ultimate sacrifice.
00:23:08.000 That doesn't change my stance on policy, and here's why I think my policy is justified, right?
00:23:12.000 That's how you do this.
00:23:14.000 Here's how Trump does it.
00:23:16.000 Because he's Trump.
00:23:18.000 Alright, a nice guy to me.
00:23:20.000 His wife, if you look at his wife, she was standing there.
00:23:24.000 She had nothing to say.
00:23:25.000 She probably, maybe she wasn't allowed to have anything to say, you tell me, but plenty of people have written that.
00:23:30.000 Okay, plenty of people have written that.
00:23:31.000 So now he's implying that the wife who's standing there, what I love about this is that he doesn't attack the father who's saying this stuff.
00:23:36.000 He goes to the lady who's just standing there in the background.
00:23:39.000 Right?
00:23:40.000 He said, Trump is so undirected that he just flails his fists in every possible direction.
00:23:44.000 Hey, look, there's the wife.
00:23:45.000 She's just standing there.
00:23:46.000 I'll punch her.
00:23:47.000 Right?
00:23:47.000 So he says, she's just standing there because maybe Islam, the implication is Islam is sexist.
00:23:52.000 Radical Islam is sexist, by the way, but that's not the implication here.
00:23:55.000 I mean, I'm not getting that from these parents per se.
00:23:57.000 I don't have any evidence of that.
00:23:58.000 So I'm not going to make that accusation.
00:24:00.000 He's sitting there and he goes, how plenty of people have written.
00:24:01.000 Maybe she was just standing there because she's not allowed to talk, you know, because she's a Muslim.
00:24:06.000 Great.
00:24:06.000 Great.
00:24:07.000 It's a genius move there, Donald.
00:24:08.000 Genius move.
00:24:09.000 Politically, morally, just a wonderful, wonderful move.
00:24:12.000 You ignorant, stupid, you genuine ignorant slut.
00:24:16.000 I mean, it's just, it's so, it's just so stupid all the way across the board.
00:24:19.000 And then the stupidity doesn't stop there.
00:24:21.000 So the Khan family said Trump hasn't sacrificed anything.
00:24:24.000 So what the proper response is, is look,
00:24:28.000 The cons are right.
00:24:29.000 I haven't made a sacrifice like they've made.
00:24:31.000 I haven't made a sacrifice like their son made.
00:24:34.000 And I'm eternally grateful for the sacrifice of anybody in uniform who dies to defend the country.
00:24:40.000 My end of story.
00:24:41.000 Here is Trump's mildly, mildly disassociative response.
00:24:47.000 He said you have sacrificed nothing and no one.
00:24:50.000 Well, that sounds... Who wrote that?
00:24:51.000 Did Hillary's script writers write it?
00:24:54.000 How would you answer that, Father?
00:24:55.000 What sacrifice have you made for your country?
00:24:57.000 I think I've made a lot of sacrifices.
00:24:59.000 I've worked very, very hard.
00:25:01.000 I've created thousands and thousands of jobs.
00:25:04.000 Tens of thousands of jobs.
00:25:06.000 Those are sacrifices?
00:25:08.000 Oh, sure.
00:25:08.000 I think they're sacrifices.
00:25:10.000 He's so stupid.
00:25:12.000 I'm sorry, forget about whether you like him, you want to vote for him, vote for him, vote for him, whatever, I don't care.
00:25:15.000 That's dumb.
00:25:16.000 Okay, it's stupid.
00:25:17.000 These are very easy answers.
00:25:18.000 This is on par with Sarah Palin being asked what newspapers she reads, and she comes back with nothing.
00:25:25.000 So, the cons naturally decide to go on the attack now, and the media are featuring them.
00:25:29.000 The media love it.
00:25:30.000 Now, the media would have gone after Trump on this stuff anyway, but Trump makes it easy for them, right?
00:25:34.000 And this is the part that I hate.
00:25:35.000 You have to expect the media to be the media.
00:25:36.000 We can sit here bitching and moaning about the media all day.
00:25:39.000 We do it a lot, right?
00:25:40.000 I mean, we just did it about their coverage of Hillary.
00:25:42.000 But in the end, if you're the candidate, you have to deal with the reality on the ground.
00:25:46.000 The reality on the ground is that the media are a bunch of leftists, and they are out to get you, and that's why you have to be smarter than this, but Trump isn't.
00:25:52.000 He's not more moral than this.
00:25:53.000 He's not smarter than this.
00:25:54.000 And so this is how you end up with KaiserKahn back on TV saying that Donald Trump has a black soul.
00:26:00.000 This person is totally incapable of empathy.
00:26:04.000 I want his family to counsel him, teach him some empathy.
00:26:09.000 He will be a better person if he could become, but he is a black soul.
00:26:15.000 And this is totally unfit for the leadership of this beautiful country.
00:26:20.000 The love and affection that we have received affirms that our beliefs
00:26:24.000 Our experience in this country had been correct and positive.
00:26:29.000 The world is receiving us like we have never seen.
00:26:34.000 They have seen the blackness of his character.
00:26:40.000 Okay, this is—it's effective stuff against Trump, and Trump is foolish, and so Trump walks right into it, because Trump can't help himself.
00:26:47.000 He feels the need always to punch back, even if he's punching a puppy, and that has some pretty obvious political ramifications.
00:26:53.000 And he's got his surrogates doing it, too.
00:26:54.000 Now he's got people trying to trot out kind of research on the Khan family, suggested there's a piece
00:27:00.000 That's making the rounds in some of the right-wing blogosphere, suggesting that the Khan family are really extremists.
00:27:05.000 There's even a piece suggesting that the captain who died in service to America is somehow compromised, that he might be a jihadi.
00:27:11.000 This is from Waleed Shoubat's site.
00:27:13.000 And I gotta say, I mean, this is gross stuff.
00:27:15.000 You don't have evidence to prove any of this stuff.
00:27:17.000 And the evidence that you're trotting out right now is pretty attenuated.
00:27:20.000 And even if it weren't, even if it weren't, I mean, unless you can prove a dead American soldier is a traitor, which is a pretty heavy and ridiculous allegation, shut your face.
00:27:28.000 I mean, just shut up.
00:27:29.000 And the fact—well, whatever he and his wife think, whatever the Khans think, politically speaking, it is not an effective or useful tactic to attack them for their background.
00:27:38.000 What is the point of that?
00:27:39.000 Their son died in Iraq in defense of the United States.
00:27:41.000 And unless I can see any evidence to the contrary, it makes you immoral to go out there trotting out these stories.
00:27:46.000 I don't understand what the purpose of this is.
00:27:47.000 I understand that there are a bunch of steps.
00:27:49.000 I wrote a piece this morning called Seven Steps to Defending Donald Trump.
00:27:52.000 And this is why, folks, this is one of the reasons why I'm not a Trump defender.
00:27:56.000 Okay?
00:27:57.000 Because I'm not going to spin or lie to you.
00:27:58.000 I'm not going to pretend that Donald Trump is being a genius when he's not.
00:28:01.000 But there's always these steps from the Trump team, right?
00:28:03.000 So first it's Trump is right, he's fighting back.
00:28:06.000 Everything he says is true.
00:28:07.000 Okay?
00:28:08.000 Even when it isn't.
00:28:09.000 And then it's you're misconstruing Trump's words.
00:28:11.000 He never said it that way.
00:28:12.000 He never meant it that way.
00:28:12.000 How do you know what he meant was that Ghazala Khan was incapable of speaking because she was Muslim?
00:28:17.000 She just meant that she had a delirium.
00:28:33.000 And then you get to its six-dimensional chess routine, right?
00:28:36.000 Now we're going to get the Trump is a genius routine.
00:28:38.000 Trump is a wonderful genius.
00:28:40.000 His brain is strong like bull, right?
00:28:42.000 He's a six-dimensional chess genius.
00:28:44.000 And now look how he shifted the coverage of the media from Hillary's big DNC to his fight with the Gold Star family.
00:28:50.000 I'm sorry, that's not six-dimensional chess.
00:28:52.000 That's you being stupid enough to clock yourself in the face of the frying pan.
00:28:55.000 And then you get to he was betrayed, right?
00:28:57.000 That's the next step.
00:28:57.000 He was dragged into this.
00:28:59.000 You've got Scotty Neil Hughes basically saying that over the weekend that he was dragged into this.
00:29:04.000 He didn't really mean to step into it.
00:29:05.000 Then you get the media's bias against Trump.
00:29:07.000 True.
00:29:07.000 The media's bias against Trump.
00:29:09.000 Yes, that's true.
00:29:09.000 And that doesn't change the fact that Trump said stupid things.
00:29:12.000 And finally, you're going to get the stuff directed at people like me.
00:29:15.000 If you say anything bad about Trump, then you're helping Hillary, cuck.
00:29:18.000 Right?
00:29:18.000 If you say anything terrible about Trump, then if you say anything that's true about Trump, then you're undermining Trump and you're helping Hillary.
00:29:26.000 Okay?
00:29:26.000 It's not my job to lie for Trump.
00:29:27.000 It's Trump's job not to be an idiot.
00:29:29.000 It's my job to convey to you my opinions and the truth, and I'm not going to lie for Donald Trump.
00:29:33.000 And by the way, I'm not lying for Hillary.
00:29:34.000 I spent the first 20 minutes of this program bashing Hillary Clinton for being a terrible lying heretic, and I'm about to spend 10 minutes more doing it.
00:29:41.000 Okay, so I have to say that
00:29:45.000 Trump makes it very difficult for people to defend him when he does very stupid things.
00:29:49.000 Now, all this said, the left is chortling over all of this.
00:29:52.000 Harry Reid came out today and says, why doesn't Mitch McConnell just rescind his endorsement?
00:29:56.000 And you've got the Washington Post today with a piece saying, why don't these Republicans just rescind their endorsements?
00:30:00.000 Now look, I haven't endorsed Trump.
00:30:02.000 I don't plan to vote for Trump.
00:30:03.000 The reason I'm not planning to vote for Trump is specifically because of all the things I just said.
00:30:08.000 The attempt to turn the conservative movement into a Donald Trump puppet group where he's in the background with his ham fingers trying to dictate what we can and cannot say and telling us to lie for him.
00:30:19.000 I'm not going to be a part of that.
00:30:20.000 I just won't do it.
00:30:22.000 Right, but all these Democrats who are celebrating, oh, why doesn't Paul Ryan disassociate?
00:30:25.000 Why doesn't Mitch McConnell disassociate?
00:30:27.000 Again, you guys made Hillary happen.
00:30:31.000 You did, okay?
00:30:32.000 I didn't make Trump happen, and I'm not standing by him now.
00:30:35.000 You guys made Hillary happen, and you're sitting there on your high horse, pretending that you have some sort of moral superiority.
00:30:40.000 Let me tell you about the moral superiority of Hillary Clinton.
00:30:43.000 So Hillary Clinton, over the weekend, she's on Fox News Sunday, and she's asked about her emails.
00:30:47.000 Here's Hillary Clinton's answer about her email scandal.
00:30:53.000 This would be clip 21.
00:30:58.000 FBI Director James Comey said none of those things that you told the American public were true.
00:31:05.000 Chris, that's not what I heard Director Comey say, and I thank you for giving me the opportunity to, in my view, clarify.
00:31:12.000 Director Comey said that my answers were truthful and what I've said is consistent with what I have told the American people.
00:31:19.000 That there were
00:31:22.000 Decisions discussed and made to classify retroactively certain of the emails.
00:31:30.000 I was communicating with over 300 people in my emailing.
00:31:35.000 They certainly did not believe and had no reason to believe that what they were sending was classified.
00:31:42.000 Now, in retrospect, different agencies come in and say, well, it should have been, but that's not what was happening in real time.
00:31:50.000 Okay, so, the Washington Post looks at this, and they give us four Pinocchios.
00:31:54.000 Because this is a lie, okay?
00:31:55.000 Comey didn't say that this was truthful, he said the opposite.
00:31:57.000 He said that it's not true, that her team lied over and over.
00:32:00.000 Glenn Kessler, who's an ally of Hillary Clinton's, he said this is unjustifiable.
00:32:04.000 He said this is ridiculous.
00:32:05.000 He says,
00:32:08.000 to preserve her narrative about the unusual setup of a private email server.
00:32:11.000 This allows her to skate past the more disturbing findings of the FBI investigation.
00:32:15.000 And then he goes into a long, drawn-out analysis.
00:32:18.000 He says, as we have seen repeatedly in Clinton's explanations of the email controversy, she relies on excessively technical and legalistic answers to explain her actions.
00:32:26.000 While Comey did say there was no evidence she lied to the FBI, that is not the same as saying she told the truth to the American public, which was the point of Wallace's question.
00:32:33.000 Comey has repeatedly not taken a stand on her public statements.
00:32:36.000 Right, so in other words, she's a liar.
00:32:37.000 She's a brutal liar, and Democrats have been defending her and saying, well, look at our person.
00:32:41.000 Our person's so much better than yours.
00:32:44.000 Nope, nope, geez, definitely not.
00:32:47.000 And then, if you thought that one candidate ripping Gold Star families was enough, no, come on, it was a weekend in America.
00:32:53.000 The other candidate also has to rip Gold Star families.
00:32:55.000 So, Hillary Clinton is asked about the Benghazi families.
00:32:58.000 Remember, she lied to their faces, their bodies on the tarmac, and she comes to them and she says, we're gonna get the guy who did the YouTube video that led to this attack that's testified to by two different members of Gold Star families.
00:33:10.000 Here's Hillary Clinton lying about them.
00:33:12.000 My heart goes out to both of them.
00:33:15.000 Losing a child under any circumstances, especially in this case, two State Department employees, extraordinary men, both of them.
00:33:26.000 Two CIA contractors gave their lives protecting our country, our values.
00:33:33.000 I understand the grief and the incredible
00:33:38.000 I don't hold any ill feeling for someone who in that moment may not fully recall everything that was or wasn't said.
00:33:59.000 Okay, this is absurd.
00:34:00.000 This is absurd.
00:34:00.000 So she's calling them liars.
00:34:01.000 By the way, how much media coverage was there of Hillary calling Gold Star family members liars?
00:34:07.000 None.
00:34:07.000 None.
00:34:08.000 So Trump rips a Muslim family or Gold Star family members.
00:34:11.000 End of the world, right?
00:34:12.000 All hell breaks loose.
00:34:13.000 Media coverage out the wazoo.
00:34:14.000 Hillary does the same thing.
00:34:15.000 And by the way, she's been telling this same lie about Gold Star families now since 2012, right?
00:34:20.000 So it's now been four years of these lies, and the media still refuse to call her out on it.
00:34:25.000 So you Democrats, you don't get to claim moral superiority here.
00:34:27.000 This is the lady you wanted, okay?
00:34:29.000 I didn't want Trump.
00:34:30.000 I still don't want Trump.
00:34:31.000 You want her to be president.
00:34:32.000 You actively want her to be president.
00:34:34.000 You stumped for her for 25 years, covered every scandal, covered up for every scandal she ever had, lied about the scandals.
00:34:40.000 You're lying about her scandals now, and I'm the bad guy?
00:34:43.000 Republicans are the bad guys?
00:34:44.000 The ones who are condemning Trump, even the ones who are voting for Trump, are condemning Trump today.
00:34:48.000 And we're the bad guys?
00:34:50.000 Oh, go screw yourselves, gang.
00:34:51.000 I mean, it's just ridiculous.
00:34:52.000 By the way, Hillary is just as much of a tyrant as Trump is, and much more in many ways.
00:34:56.000 Here is Hillary, she just does it with, instead of coming with the open, bloviating, Mussolini-style, Hillary slips in the shiv.
00:35:03.000 Here's Hillary Clinton explaining that every right you have is subject to reasonable regulations.
00:35:09.000 The Second Amendment includes an individual right to bear arms.
00:35:12.000 Yes, but...
00:35:14.000 That right, like every other of our rights, our First Amendment rights, every right that we have, is open to and even subject to reasonable regulations.
00:35:26.000 Okay, so every single one is subject to—of course, she doesn't define reasonable regulations.
00:35:30.000 For her, that means every regulation is reasonable.
00:35:33.000 And Wallace follows up.
00:35:34.000 He asks her, what's a reasonable regulation?
00:35:36.000 She can't define it.
00:35:37.000 Hillary's awful.
00:35:38.000 Hillary is awful all the way through.
00:35:39.000 But don't worry, the media are going to cover for her.
00:35:41.000 Watch this.
00:35:41.000 Joy Reid, over on MSNBC, attacks a guest.
00:35:45.000 The guest says that there are 33,000 missing Hillary emails.
00:35:48.000 Watch Joy Reid go insane.
00:35:50.000 That's what concerns me.
00:35:51.000 It's about our national security.
00:35:53.000 You can't just invent things.
00:35:55.000 You can't just invent things.
00:35:55.000 I'm not inventing anything.
00:35:57.000 You just invented an entire thing.
00:35:58.000 The FBI has already come out with a report on Hillary Clinton's emails.
00:36:02.000 What you just said was an invented thing.
00:36:04.000 There's no 33,000 emails that are going to harm our national security.
00:36:08.000 You know that there was an entire year.
00:36:09.000 We're not going to relitigate that.
00:36:11.000 No, Amy, we're not going to litigate that.
00:36:13.000 Let me talk.
00:36:13.000 You can't make things up.
00:36:14.000 Not if you're going to invent things, okay?
00:36:16.000 You can say your comments, say your opinions.
00:36:17.000 I'm not going to invent things, but the FBI also said... You just did.
00:36:20.000 You can't, Amy.
00:36:21.000 Nope, nope.
00:36:21.000 No, ma'am.
00:36:22.000 No, ma'am.
00:36:22.000 You cannot invent things.
00:36:23.000 Yes, the FBI also said... No, ma'am.
00:36:25.000 ...that she has not turned over, she didn't turn over all the emails.
00:36:28.000 No, ma'am.
00:36:28.000 So, there you have it.
00:36:28.000 You cannot invent things.
00:36:29.000 You can't invent things.
00:36:30.000 She's not inventing anything, but the media's inventing something, right?
00:36:33.000 What Comey actually said is, 30,000 emails were deleted.
00:36:35.000 We have no way of recovering any of them, or at least a huge percentage of them, so we don't know what was in them.
00:36:40.000 We have no reason to suspect it was something classified, but we have no clue.
00:36:44.000 Okay, which means that we have no clue, right?
00:36:46.000 So what she's saying is, right, but the media are gonna cover for Hillary no matter what.
00:36:51.000 And so you say, okay, well, if Hillary's so terrible, why don't you vote for Trump?
00:36:54.000 And then you get back to Trump.
00:36:55.000 So here's Donald Trump on Ukraine.
00:36:58.000 I have my own ideas.
00:37:00.000 He's not going into Ukraine, just so you understand.
00:37:02.000 He's not going to go into Ukraine.
00:37:05.000 You can mark it down, you can put it down, you can take it anywhere.
00:37:07.000 He's already there.
00:37:08.000 He's already there.
00:37:09.000 Trump doesn't know that.
00:37:11.000 Of course, Vladimir Putin's already in Ukraine.
00:37:13.000 He invaded and annexed Crimea.
00:37:15.000 And then I love this, I love this.
00:37:17.000 A Trump surrogate goes on CNN and says, don't worry, Russia didn't actually seize Crimea.
00:37:21.000 So now we're rewriting the world's events.
00:37:23.000 It's pretty great.
00:37:24.000 That is not an incorrect statement.
00:37:25.000 They sent in military troops to Crimea and seized it and then there was a referendum in which people voted to join Russia.
00:37:31.000 And that wasn't the extent of Donald Trump over the weekend.
00:37:33.000 He also yelled at a fire marshal for no apparent reason.
00:37:36.000 So a fire marshal apparently
00:37:52.000 So, I have to tell you this.
00:37:53.000 This is why our country doesn't work.
00:37:55.000 You understand.
00:37:55.000 So, we have thousands of people in a room next door.
00:37:57.000 We have plenty of space here.
00:38:16.000 We have thousands of people outside trying to get in, and we have a fire marshal that said we can't allow more people.
00:38:30.000 It really is so unfair to the people.
00:38:32.000 I'm so sorry, and I have to apologize, but it's not my fault.
00:38:37.000 I just came here.
00:38:38.000 But we have thousands of beautiful, wonderful, great people outside, and we have in the room next door over a thousand people that won't let him in.
00:38:48.000 And the reason they won't let him in is because they don't know what the hell they're doing.
00:38:52.000 That's why.
00:38:52.000 Okay?
00:38:54.000 Okay, the fire marshal doesn't know what the hell he's doing.
00:38:55.000 He just saved him from an elevator.
00:38:57.000 He just saved him from being stuck in an elevator.
00:39:00.000 And there's Trump ripping the fire marshal.
00:39:01.000 I mean, it's just, what a horrible, horrible election.
00:39:03.000 Okay, time for a thing I like, and then a heaping helping of things I hate.
00:39:07.000 So, things I like.
00:39:08.000 Because I'm in an apocalyptic mood this week, we're going to do post-apocalyptic literature.
00:39:12.000 So, over the weekend I read a very depressing but good book called Earth Abides.
00:39:16.000 This is a sci-fi book.
00:39:18.000 This is basically, there's been some sort of giant biological catastrophe and pretty much all of life on Earth is wiped out, but there's a small community that survives.
00:39:25.000 George R. Stewart, considered one of sort of the great sci-fi novels of all time.
00:39:29.000 This one was written, I believe, in 1949, but it didn't date.
00:39:32.000 It reads really, really well, and it is, in fact, a good book.
00:39:36.000 Earth Abides.
00:39:37.000 It's a little depressing, but guess what?
00:39:39.000 Most post-apocalyptic books tend to be.
00:39:41.000 So, all right, time for some things that I hate.
00:39:44.000 I have now been banned from DePaul University.
00:39:46.000 I was informed of this by the students last week.
00:39:47.000 They wanted to have me speak there.
00:39:49.000 I had reached out to them after Milo Yiannopoulos spoke there, and there was all sorts of hubbub.
00:39:53.000 I had reached out to the students at DePaul University, sort of back-channel, and I'd said to them, look, I don't really want to be involved in this publicly, but I'm happy to get you guys a lawyer.
00:40:01.000 If you need a lawyer because you want to sue the university for...
00:40:04.000 Miss using your security fees and all this.
00:40:06.000 I can hook you up with the Alliance Defending Freedom.
00:40:08.000 They do a really good job on this sort of stuff.
00:40:09.000 So I hooked them up.
00:40:10.000 They came back to me a few weeks back.
00:40:11.000 They said, we'd like to have you come and speak.
00:40:13.000 And I said, sure, that sounds great.
00:40:14.000 So they applied to the university to have me speak.
00:40:18.000 The university came back by saying that they could not have me speak.
00:40:22.000 I was just too terrible.
00:40:24.000 Little old me.
00:40:25.000 I was just too awful.
00:40:27.000 Here's what they wrote.
00:40:28.000 What they actually wrote back is they said, given the experiences and security concerns that some other schools have had with Ben Shapiro speaking on their campuses, DePaul cannot agree to allow him to speak on our campus at this time.
00:40:38.000 They said that Dinesh D'Souza and Christina Hoff Sommers could come.
00:40:42.000 So in other words, the way that this works now is if I go and I speak somewhere, and leftists riot, and the administration can't control them, I can't speak anywhere anymore.
00:40:51.000 This is called fascism, gang.
00:40:52.000 When you have people who are basically ginned up to come to my speeches and then shut it down so that other universities will say, oh, well, I guess we can't have them speak there.
00:41:00.000 Imagine this in reverse.
00:41:01.000 Imagine that conservatives got so angry, so angry at President Obama speaking that they showed up at a university and basically shut down the campus.
00:41:08.000 You think that other universities would withdraw their invitations for President Obama or Eric Holder or Michelle Obama or, you know, columnists of the left?
00:41:15.000 You think they would really do that?
00:41:16.000 Of course not.
00:41:17.000 Of course not.
00:41:17.000 This is just an excuse not to have me, particularly because they don't want me there, because I stir up trouble, and by stirring up trouble, I mean I go there and I say things that a lot of their lefty students don't like.
00:41:27.000 So, don't worry, we're fighting it.
00:41:28.000 And by the way, if you would like to be part of that fight, I don't do this a lot on the program, but I'm happy to do it, the university, DePaul University,
00:41:38.000 We're good to go.
00:41:57.000 It is.
00:41:57.000 And email politely, okay, don't be rude, don't curse, be polite, deanofstudents at depaul.edu.
00:42:03.000 D-E-P-A-U-L dot E-D-U.
00:42:04.000 So deanofstudents at depaul dot E-D-U.
00:42:07.000 And you can let them know about your displeasure and your feeling that this is a violation of, if not the First Amendment, because it's a private university, at least First Amendment principles.
00:42:14.000 Okay.
00:42:14.000 Other things that I hate.
00:42:15.000 So everybody over the weekend is making this big deal out of this skydiver who jumped 25,000 feet into a net.
00:42:20.000 He didn't have a parachute.
00:42:21.000 Here's what it looked like.
00:42:22.000 Jumpers are away, jumpers are off.
00:42:30.000 OK, and we're watching people fall toward the ground from a large distance.
00:42:36.000 Now he's practicing the flip.
00:42:37.000 That's how he'll have to land.
00:42:39.000 He'll have to land on his back.
00:42:41.000 Right, because otherwise he'll break his neck.
00:42:44.000 So they're really enjoying their ride, and it keeps going.
00:42:48.000 18,000 feet, the oxygen mask will come off.
00:42:51.000 That will be from his cousin, Andy Farrington.
00:42:54.000 It will be closest to him.
00:42:55.000 So there's only one guy here who doesn't have a parachute, by the way.
00:42:58.000 It's the dude in the center.
00:43:00.000 He's moving 150 miles an hour toward the ground and he's just falling and we're all watching a guy fall through the sky.
00:43:09.000 And it's really amusing and all the rest of it.
00:43:11.000 Okay, so he's closer, he's closer.
00:43:14.000 There goes the oxygen mask.
00:43:16.000 Now at 12,000 feet, you'll hear a beep in his helmet.
00:43:19.000 He's in the red zone, gang.
00:43:19.000 There's no pull out now.
00:43:37.000 And he can see that he's approaching the ground, and there in green you can see a giant net as he approaches.
00:43:43.000 And the crowd on the ground looking up, they have a visual on him right now.
00:43:46.000 Everybody can see this guy falling.
00:43:48.000 And there he goes, toward this giant net that is suspended probably 100 feet off the ground.
00:43:54.000 And he falls into the net.
00:43:56.000 He's in!
00:43:56.000 Yay!
00:43:56.000 Yay!
00:43:57.000 He fell into the net.
00:43:58.000 Okay, so everybody made a huge deal out of this idiot jumping out of a plane into a net.
00:44:02.000 Let me just say this.
00:44:03.000 The real reason everybody was watching this is because they wanted him to miss.
00:44:06.000 Okay, that's the real reason.
00:44:07.000 Just the darkness of human nature.
00:44:09.000 was that people were watching this because they wanted to be there if he missed.
00:44:12.000 Because it's not a great water cooler conversation.
00:44:14.000 It's a five second water cooler conversation.
00:44:16.000 This is just a note about human nature, okay?
00:44:18.000 Human nature suggests that when you watch a guy jump out of a plane from 25,000 feet into a net, there's a part of you deep down inside that wants to watch the guy miss the net.
00:44:27.000 Right?
00:44:27.000 Because otherwise, why would you watch a guy jump out of a plane into a net?
00:44:29.000 You wouldn't watch him when he has a parachute, would you?
00:44:31.000 Because you knew he'd be safe.
00:44:33.000 But there's an element of risk here.
00:44:34.000 And so, I'm going to rip on two things.
00:44:36.000 One, human nature.
00:44:37.000 Okay, that says that you want to watch a guy jump out of a plane and onto the ground, which is horrifying.
00:44:41.000 And two, I want to point out that this is really dumb.
00:44:44.000 Like, why would you possibly do something like this?
00:44:45.000 Why is this cool?
00:44:46.000 Why is this interesting?
00:44:47.000 Why would you do something deliberately dangerous and stupid?
00:44:49.000 Like, don't you have a life?
00:44:50.000 Don't you have things that you have going on in your life?
00:44:54.000 I have the same problem with the Walendas.
00:44:57.000 People are watching them cross a line across the Grand Canyon.
00:45:01.000 I'm thinking to myself, the only reason you're really watching this is because you want to see the guy fall off.
00:45:05.000 Because if you knew that he was going to make it to the other side, you don't even watch the TiVo.
00:45:08.000 But I guarantee you that if you know that he fell off, everybody watches that TiVo.
00:45:13.000 People, don't risk your life in stupid ways.
00:45:15.000 It's really dumb.
00:45:15.000 Life is too valuable for that.
00:45:17.000 Okay, final thing that I dislike.
00:45:19.000 So there are a lot of people making a big deal out of this video of Malia Obama.
00:45:22.000 She was at Lollapalooza and she was twerking her rear.
00:45:25.000 And this is a little bit of the video.
00:45:27.000 Somebody caught it from Lollapalooza.
00:45:28.000 Malia Obama.
00:45:34.000 Okay, so she's twerking and she's flipping up her butt.
00:45:38.000 Okay, so she's 17 years old.
00:45:40.000 So, number one, I'm not a big fan of this stuff in the first place.
00:45:44.000 I don't know why you would send a 17-year-old to a place by herself if you're a responsible parent, but they sent her.
00:45:51.000 Is it a big deal?
00:45:52.000 No, it's not a particularly big deal.
00:45:54.000 Everyone is basically saying the same thing.
00:45:56.000 This is not a big deal.
00:45:57.000 Don't make a big deal out of it.
00:45:59.000 By contrast, the rest of the media is making an enormous deal, an enormous deal out of Miss Teen USA.
00:46:03.000 So Miss Teen USA, she was just crowned Miss Teen USA, and there's a big controversy that is now broken out because back in 2013, she had a bunch of tweets in which she used the N-word.
00:46:14.000 Now, she didn't use the N-word to direct it at black people, right?
00:46:17.000 She used the N-word in the same way that rappers use the N-word.
00:46:21.000 It's supposed to be like a cool, insider-y thing.
00:46:24.000 So I've objected to this for a long time.
00:46:25.000 I think it's stupid when black people do it.
00:46:27.000 I think it's stupid when white people do it.
00:46:28.000 It's a word with a very nasty meaning, and the kind of attempt to mainstream it into culture has the predictable effect that stupid young kids— I mean, in 2013, she's now, what, 17?
00:46:35.000 So in 2013, that was three years ago, she was 14 years old, and now we're all, you know, hot and bothered about a 14-year-old using words that she heard in a rap song?
00:46:45.000 I'm sorry, I'm not going to call her a racist for using words that have no context with black people when the entire culture pretends that it's okay to use these words so long as you listen to rap music.
00:46:54.000 It's really stupid.
00:46:55.000 Here's what she wrote.
00:46:56.000 She wrote,
00:47:11.000 Listen, I'm glad she apologized.
00:47:12.000 I'm glad that she's moved on beyond that sort of silliness.
00:47:15.000 I will say that I think that it's negative when a culture presses kids to do stupid things and then we're shocked when kids do stupid things.
00:47:21.000 Whether it's twerking or whether it's using the n-word because you listen to certain types of music.
00:47:25.000 I think it's gross.
00:47:26.000 How about this?
00:47:27.000 Teach your kids not to do stupid things and they won't do stupid things.
00:47:29.000 Okay, we're adding a quick section because every so often—I rarely, rarely make a mistake here on The Ben Shapiro Show—but every so often I do make a mistake.
00:47:38.000 And so last week I made a mistake.
00:47:40.000 I was trying to be smart and make a mathematical reference, and naturally I screwed it up, which serves me right.
00:47:46.000 I said that imaginary numbers are when you divide by zero.
00:47:48.000 No, that's a null solution.
00:47:49.000 An imaginary number is a square root of a negative.
00:47:53.000 And thank you for all 300 of you who emailed me about that.
00:47:56.000 I really appreciate it.
00:47:57.000 The nice thing is that I have an audience that actually appreciates when I get those things wrong, so I appreciate that.
00:48:01.000 If I missed anything this show, email me.
00:48:03.000 We're going to start doing a corrections section because I would like our record to be unblemished as far as humanly possible.
00:48:08.000 Okay, so we'll be back tomorrow with the latest fallout from the campaign and all other relevant issues.
00:48:14.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:48:14.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.
00:48:15.000 We're good.
