That s kind of a momentous reckoning, isn t it? On Trump s 1,062nd day in office, Congress has brought a momentous reckoning, to an unorthodox president who has tested America s institutions with an array of unrestrained actions, including some that his own appointees and other government witnesses testified were reckless and endangered national security. And you saw Democrats cheering yesterday, right? Well, not gonna happen, nope, not actually. . That is why the impeachment doesn t mean anything, because it s an entirely political act, because they do not run the Senate. And that s tragic, and they don t have a chance to vote in the Senate, and no choice, no matter what they want to do it. You just do it, and it s tragic. -- Ben Shapiro Ben Shapiro's take on the impeachment of the President of the United States, and why the President s reckless actions were the best part of this was all a part of the of this and why it is tragic, not the best, and the worst part of that And why the president s is under threat from the White House is under a threat from a republic that didn t give us a choice, and didn t just give us the chance to make us a choice or a , right did it --

00:00:00.000 Democrats impeach President Trump in the House.
00:00:02.000 Historic day.
00:00:03.000 The media, journalism all over themselves.
00:00:06.000 And President Trump rallies the base.
00:00:07.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.
00:00:07.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:00:08.000 This show is sponsored by ExpressVPN's Stop putting your online data at risk.

00:00:20.000 Well, merry impeachment, as those at the Washington Post say each and every day.
00:00:25.000 Merry impeachment to you.
00:00:26.000 Merry impeachmas, I guess is how they're putting it.
00:00:29.000 It is very exciting news.
00:00:30.000 The New York Times splashing across its front page.
00:00:33.000 Trump impeached!
00:00:34.000 And then the Washington Post, Trump impeached!
00:00:36.000 Everybody very excited about the impeachment.
00:00:39.000 The Washington Post, Reveled in this, Philip Rucker, Felicia Sanmez, and Colby Itkowitz, the House of Representatives voted late Wednesday to impeach President Trump on charges that he abused his office and obstructed Congress with Democrats declaring him a threat to the nation and branding an indelible mark on the most turbulent presidency of modern times.
00:00:56.000 Oh, an indelible mark, is it?
00:00:58.000 So indelible.
00:00:59.000 Because when people think of Bill Clinton's presidency, the only thing they think about is impeachment.
00:01:02.000 Not the economy, not welfare reform, not the fact that his wife would go on to become a Democratic nominee herself.
00:01:07.000 They only think about the impeachment.
00:01:07.000 Nope.
00:01:09.000 It's an indelible mark.
00:01:11.000 After 11 hours of fierce argument on the House floor between Democrats and Republicans over Trump's conduct with Ukraine, lawmakers voted almost entirely along party lines to impeach him.
00:01:20.000 By the way, the only people who did not vote along party lines were the two, three Democrats who voted not to impeach, and Tulsi Gabbard, who abstained from the voting, who voted present.
00:01:32.000 Trump becomes the third president in U.S.
00:01:33.000 history to face trial in the Senate, a proceeding that will determine whether he is removed from office less than one year before he stands for re-election.
00:01:39.000 Um, spoiler alert, nope, not gonna happen.
00:01:43.000 According to the Washington Post, on Trump's 1,062nd day in office, Congress brought a momentous reckoning, momentous reckoning, to an unorthodox president who has tested America's institutions with an array of unrestrained actions, including some that a collection of his own appointees and other government witnesses testified were reckless and endangered national Security.
00:02:02.000 It's a reckoning, momentous, momentous reckoning.
00:02:05.000 And you saw Democrats cheering yesterday and very, very excited about all of this.
00:02:09.000 Then there was that awkward moment where they realized he's not exiting office.
00:02:13.000 And you got that that famous gif of Kanye West where he's smiling and then it suddenly goes to like.
00:02:19.000 That's kind of the Democrats as they realize that the impeachment doesn't mean anything because it's an entirely political act and they do not run the Senate.
00:02:27.000 The Democratic-controlled House passed two articles of impeachment against Trump, abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, neither of which is a crime, of course.
00:02:33.000 The House voted 230 to 197 to approve the article charging abuse of power, with the gavel falling about 8.30 p.m.
00:02:38.000 right in the middle of the Masked Singer.
00:02:40.000 So you had this bizarre split screen on Fox where they cut into the Masked Singer to show the commentators on Fox News.
00:02:50.000 And everybody's like, wait a second, I want to know who the Fox was.
00:02:53.000 Why doesn't someone just tell me who the Fox was?
00:02:55.000 No one cares about the impeachment.
00:02:56.000 Let's be real about this.
00:02:58.000 And the obstruction of Congress vote, which followed soon after the tally, was 229 to 198.
00:03:02.000 All Republicans voted against both articles.
00:03:04.000 Among Democrats, two voted no on the first article, three voted no on the second.
00:03:08.000 Representative Tulsi Gabbard voted present both times.
00:03:11.000 House Speaker Nancy Pelosi framed the day's proceedings.
00:03:13.000 So here was Nancy Pelosi's opening statement.
00:03:15.000 It was very solemn, very somber.
00:03:17.000 And this was the supposed mood that was being created.
00:03:20.000 Solemnness.
00:03:21.000 Somberness.
00:03:23.000 Solemnity, sadness, and any other S-word you can think of that makes you feel very sober.
00:03:29.000 Here is Nancy Pelosi wearing her Emperor Palpatine costume, and then reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, which again, the last time I checked, Democrats wanted to ban from public school classrooms, but here is Nancy Pelosi.
00:03:40.000 Very sadly now, our founders' vision of a republic is under threat from actions from the White House.
00:03:47.000 That is why today, as Speaker of the House, I solemnly and sadly open the debate on the impeachment of the President of the United States.
00:03:57.000 If we do not act now, we would be derelict in our duty.
00:04:01.000 It is tragic that the President's reckless actions make impeachment necessary.
00:04:06.000 He gave us no choice.
00:04:09.000 Um, um, um, no.
00:04:11.000 You had a choice, and you just didn't do it.
00:04:13.000 Now, the best part, again, of all this was the theatrical stupidity of all this.
00:04:17.000 The Democrats pretending that they're very solemn and upset about having to do this, despite the fact that, again, they've spent three years openly screaming for lightning to hit Trump, openly praying That the alligator moat opens up beneath Trump, that Jabba the Hutt's gate opens up and Trump falls down into the Rancor pit, right?
00:04:37.000 I mean, that's what they've been praying for, for three long years.
00:04:40.000 And finally they did it yesterday and they're like, no, we're not excited about this.
00:04:44.000 We're not excited about this.
00:04:46.000 Yeah, you're not excited about this.
00:04:49.000 Mm-hmm.
00:04:50.000 You're about as not excited about this as a new husband on his wedding night.
00:04:57.000 Sure.
00:04:58.000 Sure.
00:04:58.000 Here's a montage of all the Democrats proclaiming how sad and solemn and solemn and sad and sober they are.
00:05:05.000 Today, under the dome of this temple of democracy, to exercise one of the most solemn powers that this body can take.
00:05:13.000 It's with solemn purpose today that I vote to impeach.
00:05:17.000 Madam Speaker, it is with a solemn sense of duty that I rise.
00:05:19.000 Madam Speaker, as we take this solemn, necessary step of impeaching President Trump.
00:05:25.000 I rise on this solemn occasion.
00:05:26.000 Impeaching a president is one of the most solemn and consequential.
00:05:30.000 I cast a solemn vote for the many individuals in my district.
00:05:33.000 Members of Congress swear a solemn oath to protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and today we fulfill our oath.
00:05:44.000 Madam Speaker, I rise with a heavy heart.
00:05:48.000 To support this resolution.
00:05:50.000 I rise today with a heavy heart.
00:05:52.000 It is with a heavy heart, but a resolved one.
00:05:54.000 Madam Speaker, it is with a heavy heart and a profound sense of the gravity of this moment that I rise today in support of the impeachment.
00:06:03.000 Madam Speaker, I rise with a heavy heart.
00:06:06.000 The two most difficult votes any member of Congress ever has to cast to vote to go to war are to impeach.
00:06:13.000 Today.
00:06:14.000 As Speaker of the House, I solemnly and sadly open the debate.
00:06:18.000 This is a very sad day, and I do not take impeachment lightly.
00:06:23.000 I'm saddened, but I'm not shocked.
00:06:25.000 It's with profound sadness that I stand here today.
00:06:28.000 It is a sad day in America.
00:06:30.000 Today, sadly, we are voting to impeach President Donald John Trump.
00:06:34.000 Yes, I am saddened, but I'm not shocked.
00:06:36.000 Everybody's sad.
00:06:37.000 Everybody's sad.
00:06:38.000 So sad!
00:06:39.000 Now, if you believe this, it's because you're unbelievably stupid and gullible.
00:06:44.000 So sad.
00:06:45.000 You can see them weeping, the tears.
00:06:47.000 They're so upset.
00:06:48.000 And they're so sober.
00:06:50.000 It's like a funeral out there.
00:06:51.000 I mean, it's so sober.
00:06:52.000 What a sober moment in America's history.
00:06:54.000 When we have to impeach this guy that we absolutely wish would just effing die.
00:06:59.000 Like, man, it's just, wow, it's so sober and so sad and so sober sad.
00:07:05.000 By the way, we're gonna show how this was not true in just one second.
00:07:09.000 First, let us talk about the fact that it can be very difficult to find the right part for your car.
00:07:15.000 Now, if you are car illiterate, the way that I am, this means that very often, when your car breaks down, you drive to some sort of auto body shop, and then, the next thing you know, somebody is selling you a part that is too expensive.
00:07:25.000 This has happened to me.
00:07:26.000 Or, you go on over to one of the big box stores, and you buy the part, and you come on home, your dad drives you, and you come on home with the part, You open up your car, you go to put it in, and you realize that it is the wrong part, and you have now wasted an hour and a half, and you have to go back and replace it, and then you do it wrong again.
00:07:40.000 Yes, that happened to me.
00:07:42.000 Instead, why don't you just go to RockAuto.com?
00:07:44.000 RockAuto.com is a family business serving auto parts customers online for 20 years.
00:07:49.000 Go to RockAuto.com to shop for auto and body parts from hundreds of manufacturers.
00:07:52.000 They've got everything from engine control modules and brake parts, to tail lamps, motor oil, even new carpet.
00:07:57.000 Whether it's for your classic or daily driver, You can get everything you need in a few easy clicks delivered directly to your door.
00:08:03.000 The rockauto.com catalog is incredibly easy to navigate.
00:08:06.000 You can quickly see all the parts available for your vehicle and filter by brand, specifications, and prices.
00:08:11.000 I'm not a car guy, and that makes rockauto.com even better, because it means that...
00:08:15.000 I don't really have to worry about going to the store and getting the wrong thing.
00:08:18.000 Best of all, prices at rockauto.com are always reliably low and safe.
00:08:23.000 And the same for professionals and do-it-yourselfers.
00:08:25.000 It's a great site for car enthusiasts as well.
00:08:26.000 They've got amazing selection, reliably low prices.
00:08:29.000 All the parts your car will ever need, rockauto.com.
00:08:31.000 Go to rockauto.com right now, see all the parts available for your car or truck.
00:08:34.000 Write Shapiro in their How Did You Hear About Us box so they know we sent you.
00:08:38.000 Again, go check them out at rockauto.com.
00:08:41.000 Nancy Pelosi, She actually had to glare at her own Democrats.
00:08:45.000 So CNN had reported earlier in the day that Nancy Pelosi had told all of the Democrats to be extremely sober, very sober and sad.
00:08:52.000 And so they went up there and they did this routine about how sad they were, about how this is just, it's a constitutional duty.
00:08:58.000 It's not that we hope that President Trump spontaneously combusts like a Charles Dickens character.
00:09:03.000 It really is mainly that we just, we love the constitution so much.
00:09:07.000 So yesterday she announces the vote on impeachment.
00:09:10.000 And people start cheering and Nancy Pelosi has to turn to them and shake them off.
00:09:17.000 She has to turn to them and try it.
00:09:19.000 No, guys, don't do that.
00:09:20.000 Don't do that.
00:09:20.000 You're giving away the game.
00:09:22.000 Stop.
00:09:22.000 Don't you see?
00:09:23.000 I'm wearing my black sober and somber and sad.
00:09:25.000 I'm wearing my funeral suit today.
00:09:26.000 You don't cheer at a funeral.
00:09:28.000 Here's Nancy Pelosi announcing the impeachment and then.
00:09:31.000 If you could see this, which is why you should subscribe, you can see her actually shake off the members of her own party who are openly celebrating.
00:09:39.000 The confetti's coming down, everybody's playing.
00:09:41.000 They're playing, we are the champions, the whole deal.
00:09:43.000 And Nancy Pelosi's like, shhh, stop it.
00:09:45.000 They're gonna notice you're happy.
00:09:48.000 Article 1 is adopted.
00:09:51.000 The question is on adoption of Article 2.
00:10:02.000 People start laughing in the chamber because it's ridiculous.
00:10:05.000 She's trying to pretend that they're so sober.
00:10:06.000 And that face, man, that face.
00:10:09.000 How'd you like to see that face coming at you?
00:10:11.000 You're the grandchild and you took some cookies from the top shelf and you got that face coming at you.
00:10:15.000 I mean, my goodness, that is not a great look.
00:10:18.000 OK, so the Democrats very solemn and sober.
00:10:20.000 Now, how do they actually feel about this?
00:10:21.000 Leave it to Rashida Tlaib, who said that she wanted to impeach the mother rapper.
00:10:26.000 To express how Democrats truly felt that she was on her way to the House floor to vote on impeachment and the same crazy lady who went to a Trump rally and was thrown out for screaming at President Trump.
00:10:37.000 The same rabid anti-Semite who was so crazily anti-Semitic she voted down a Democratic anti-Israel Proposition because it was too pro-Israel.
00:10:47.000 Rashida Tlaib was walking to the floor and she's smiling and laughing.
00:10:51.000 She could not be happier.
00:10:52.000 This is the best day since presumably something bad happened to a Jew somewhere.
00:10:57.000 Here is Rashida Tlaib.
00:10:58.000 I mean, she is so excited.
00:11:00.000 She's so pumped, man.
00:11:02.000 But also somber and sad and sober and sad and somber.
00:11:05.000 Here she is.
00:11:06.000 Hey, everyone, I am on my way to the United States House floor to impeach Okay, she is not actually winning an Oscar.
00:11:25.000 She's just on her way to vote for an impeachment resolution that doesn't actually contain a crime.
00:11:31.000 So clearly the Democrats were very upset about this.
00:11:33.000 So upset.
00:11:34.000 And we know that they're really serious because they are sober, sad, and somber.
00:11:38.000 Serious, sober, sad, and somber, right?
00:11:39.000 I mean, we know this.
00:11:40.000 We know this.
00:11:40.000 Okay, then they get up there and they say just a bunch of crazy things.
00:11:45.000 A bunch of crazy things about how if Trump isn't impeached, it's the end of the republic.
00:11:48.000 So yesterday, they go on for hours this way.
00:11:51.000 Everybody got like one minute to speak.
00:11:53.000 And in that minute, It was sort of a game of one-upsmanship.
00:11:56.000 On the Democratic side, the game was, how bad can we say Trump is?
00:12:00.000 And on the Republican side, the game was, how badly can we say that Trump is being treated?
00:12:04.000 And so we got these parallel acts of stupidity where Democrats, on the one hand, were saying, if President Trump is not impeached, he will declare absolute power.
00:12:14.000 He will order Executive Order 66 and take over the galaxy.
00:12:19.000 He will murder all the Jedi younglings if we don't impeach him, on the one hand.
00:12:24.000 And then on the other hand, you have the Republicans being like, this man, this Donald J. Trump, this man has been treated worse than Jesus Christ.
00:12:32.000 This man right here, this man has been treated worse than any human being who has ever been treated on the face of the earth.
00:12:38.000 Yeah, we've had a few who were shot in office, but aside from that, he has been treated worse than Lincoln, worse than anyone.
00:12:46.000 And so we have these two parallel conversations because everything is incredibly stupid and this is a complete waste of time.
00:12:51.000 We'll get to more of that in just one second.
00:12:53.000 First, let's talk about cryptocurrency for a second.
00:12:55.000 So, you hear crypto and you're like, ooh, that means secret and that probably means bad.
00:12:58.000 No, what cryptocurrency is, is basically a digital form of currency that is not manipulable by central governments.
00:13:04.000 One of the great threats to your savings is the central government blowing up the spending and then blowing up the inflation rate in order to pay off that spending.
00:13:12.000 And that will happen sooner or later in the United States.
00:13:14.000 It's one of the reasons why so many people are interested in trading in cryptocurrencies, because once you have enough people trading a cryptocurrency, which is protected by blockchain, it can't be inflated.
00:13:22.000 And so it effectively is a form of digital hard assets, like a digital gold.
00:13:27.000 So the idea is that if you invest in those sorts of currencies, then at least the government can't manipulate you.
00:13:32.000 Well, this is what cryptocurrency does, and this is why maybe you should explore investing in cryptocurrency.
00:13:36.000 George Gilder, the economist, has talked about this.
00:13:38.000 If you're interested in getting into the cryptocurrency markets, but you actually don't know much, why don't you check out eToro?
00:13:44.000 You can check out CopyTrader by eToro.
00:13:46.000 CopyTrader allows you to automatically copy every trade of eToro's top crypto traders at the exact price in real time.
00:13:52.000 That's pretty cool, because if you don't know anything, you can just crib off somebody else's cheat sheet.
00:13:56.000 Etoro's social trading platform has over 11 million traders, facilitates over 1 trillion dollars in trading volume per year globally.
00:14:02.000 You can access the world's best cryptocurrency.
00:14:04.000 Sign up today at etoro.com slash Shapiro.
00:14:07.000 That's E-T-O-R-O dot com slash Shapiro.
00:14:10.000 Etoro dot com slash Shapiro.

00:14:13.000 Again.
00:14:14.000 Crypto, it's an interesting way to diversify your portfolio, and it also allows you to keep your assets protected from central governments, which is an important thing.
00:14:21.000 Check them out at etoro.com slash Shapiro.
00:14:23.000 E-T-O-R-O dot com slash Shapiro.
00:14:25.000 Okay, so, we begin with the Democrats and their overwrought case.
00:14:28.000 So, Representative Jayapal.
00:14:30.000 Who is sort of an adjunct member of the squad.
00:14:33.000 She's not really a member of the squad, but she's sort of like the fifth beetle who really wants to make it into the squad and is never let in.
00:14:40.000 So she explains yesterday that if we do not impeach Trump, then we will live in a monarchy or a dictatorship, in which case I suppose that Barron does become an actual baron and eventually becomes president of the United States, which is exciting and odd.
00:14:52.000 Here is Representative Jayapal from Washington.
00:14:55.000 Without that, we are no longer a democracy, we are a monarchy or a dictatorship.
00:15:02.000 And so today, to uphold my oath to constitution and country, I will vote to impeach Donald J. Trump.
00:15:11.000 Wow.
00:15:12.000 Just wow.
00:15:13.000 She's what a hero.
00:15:14.000 What a hero.
00:15:15.000 Jan Schakowsky from Illinois.
00:15:16.000 She let the cat out of the bag because she's radical and crazy.
00:15:19.000 Also, that's a wild Konica pen.
00:15:21.000 I mean, like, as an orthodox Jew, I gotta say that that is pretty hideous.
00:15:25.000 But in any case, Jan Schakowsky.
00:15:28.000 He's wearing a big Hanukkah pin on her on her right side.
00:15:31.000 She says, my son convinced me to impeach well before Ukraine.
00:15:35.000 Well, isn't that sort of undercutting your argument of serious, sober, somber and sadness?
00:15:39.000 Here is Representative Jayapal, Representative Schakowsky in the holiday spirit.
00:15:45.000 It is my adult son, Ian Schakowsky, whom I will always credit for my decision last June to support an impeachment inquiry.
00:15:56.000 It had never been my goal to impeach a president, but Ian made such a compelling case.
00:16:02.000 He reminded me of the oath I have taken 11 times now.
00:16:07.000 To support and defend the Constitution of the United States.
00:16:11.000 He said, Mom, this is not about politics.
00:16:15.000 This is not about party.
00:16:17.000 Oh, it isn't.
00:16:18.000 But also, I was interested in doing this well before Ukraine.
00:16:21.000 Jackie Speier came out of the woodwork from California.
00:16:24.000 Her last brilliant stratagem was that Mitch McConnell should recuse himself in the Senate because Mitch McConnell is going to vote to acquit.
00:16:31.000 And obviously, he can't be an impartial juror because The process is not about impartiality as the entirely partisan vote yesterday shows.
00:16:39.000 In any case, Representative Speier goes all the way to Hitler.
00:16:43.000 If we don't do anything here, then Hitler will take over.
00:16:46.000 Here is Jackie Speier explaining that President Trump is like when her parents escaped Hitler, they didn't mean to come to a country where Hitler could rise again.
00:16:56.000 Here's Jackie Speier.
00:16:58.000 My father fled Nazi Germany for America because he saw what happened when a despot became untethered.
00:17:07.000 He fled because he believed in democracy and the rule of law and the right to vote.
00:17:12.000 And today, today all of those are in danger because of Orange Hitler in the White House!
00:17:18.000 He's going to come to Jackie Spiers' house and he's going to force her to receive a tax cut!
00:17:27.000 Very serious people.
00:17:28.000 Very, very serious people.
00:17:31.000 And then you get Al Green, right?
00:17:33.000 Al Green, not the singer, the congressperson.
00:17:35.000 Al Green, who has been for years suggesting that President Trump should be impeached.
00:17:38.000 He gets up there with a giant poster that says, Impeach Now!
00:17:41.000 Now, does that have a picture of, like, a suffering soldier in Ukraine or something?
00:17:44.000 Like, something connected?
00:17:45.000 Or does it have a picture of sad-faced Joe Biden?
00:17:47.000 No, it has a picture of the crying child.
00:17:49.000 Do you remember from the immigration debate?
00:17:51.000 There's only one problem with that crying child story.
00:17:54.000 The crying child was not actually separated from her mom, right?
00:17:57.000 So that picture is not even, like, real.
00:18:00.000 Okay, it's like a real picture of a person crying, but it is not, in fact, an example of President Trump's evil brutality.
00:18:07.000 The Washington Post reported all the way back in June 2018 that the girl's father told the Washington Post his child and her mother were not even separated according to Border Patrol.
00:18:17.000 So Al Green busts out this picture, right, of this little girl crying, and he's using that photo.
00:18:25.000 And then what does that have to do with Ukraine?
00:18:28.000 Like, I get it.
00:18:30.000 You just don't like Trump, right?
00:18:30.000 I mean, that's basically what you're saying here.
00:18:33.000 And then you got Hakeem Jeffries.
00:18:34.000 Hakeem Jeffries from New York.
00:18:36.000 He suggests, you know what?
00:18:38.000 People keep saying that this impeachment thing is divisive.
00:18:40.000 That's not divisive.
00:18:41.000 You know what was divisive?
00:18:41.000 Slavery.
00:18:42.000 Slavery was divisive.
00:18:44.000 Which is, like, one of my favorite old jokes.
00:18:47.000 One of my favorite old jokes is, what's worse than finding a worm in your apple?
00:18:52.000 Finding half a worm in your apple.
00:18:54.000 What's worse than finding half a worm in your apple?
00:18:57.000 Stage 4 cancer.
00:18:59.000 Well, yes, it is true.
00:19:00.000 This is not as divisive as slavery.
00:19:02.000 You're correct, it's not as divisive.
00:19:05.000 Points to you, Hakeem Jeffries.
00:19:08.000 I'm pretty sure that doesn't mean it's not divisive, but, like, yeah, if you're gonna go to... Like, you're having a fight... I can't imagine breaking this out in a fight with my wife.
00:19:15.000 She's like, God, you're just being terrible.
00:19:16.000 Really?
00:19:17.000 Am I being as terrible as the people who enslaved people?
00:19:21.000 That's kind of a non-sequitur.
00:19:23.000 Here's Hakeem Jeffries.
00:19:24.000 They're dropping Farside S. Gary Larson non-sequiturs.
00:19:28.000 There are some who cynically argue that the impeachment of this president will further divide an already fractured union.
00:19:37.000 But there is a difference between division and clarification.
00:19:42.000 Slavery once divided the nation, but emancipators rose up to clarify that all men are created equally.
00:19:50.000 Okay.
00:19:52.000 Meanwhile, Tulsi Gabbard saying the only thing that is true.
00:19:55.000 And Tulsi Gabbard, who may run as an independent, by the way, she released a statement on the impeachment of President Trump.
00:19:59.000 And she said that this is a partisan effort.
00:20:02.000 And so I'm voting present.
00:20:04.000 She said, I'm standing in the center.
00:20:05.000 I've decided to vote present.
00:20:06.000 I could not in good conscience vote against impeachment because I believe President Trump is guilty of wrongdoing.
00:20:10.000 I also could not in good conscience vote for impeachment because removal of a sitting president Must not be the culmination of a partisan process fueled by tribal animosities that have so gravely divided our country.
00:20:20.000 When I cast my vote in support of the impeachment inquiry nearly three months ago, I said that in order to maintain the integrity of this solemn undertaking, it must not be a partisan endeavor.
00:20:27.000 Tragically, that's what it has been.
00:20:30.000 On the one side, the president's defenders insist that he has done nothing wrong.
00:20:33.000 They agree with the absurd proclamation that his conduct was perfect.
00:20:36.000 They've abdicated their responsibility to exercise legitimate oversight and instead blindly do the bidding of their party's leader.
00:20:42.000 On the other side, the president's opponents insist that if we do not impeach, our country will collapse into dictatorship.
00:20:46.000 All but explicitly, they accuse him of treason.
00:20:49.000 Such extreme rhetoric was never conducive to an impartial fact-finding process.
00:20:53.000 How have you all made me into a Tulsi Gabbard fan?
00:20:57.000 How?
00:20:58.000 How?
00:21:00.000 I mean, she's the only reasonable person in the House, apparently.
00:21:03.000 And meanwhile, on the Republican side of the aisle, Kevin McCarthy, the House Minority Leader, he said something that is true.
00:21:09.000 He got all sorts of flack for it.
00:21:10.000 He said, this is obviously an attempt to appease the Democrat partisan socialistic base, which is true.
00:21:15.000 Nancy Pelosi, who, it's funny, she was being praised yesterday for her iron control of the House.
00:21:20.000 The fact is, if she hadn't lost control of the House back in March to Ilhan Omar, then none of this would have happened.
00:21:26.000 If she had not lost control to the radicals in her party, she wouldn't have moved forward with this thing.
00:21:30.000 She lost control.
00:21:31.000 She tried to reassert control by pushing for impeachment.
00:21:33.000 She thought there would be more there than there was.
00:21:35.000 There wasn't enough there, and she pushed forward anyway.
00:21:36.000 Here's McCarthy.
00:21:38.000 It didn't have to be this way.
00:21:41.000 Is this why we came here to serve?
00:21:45.000 To trample on due process rights?
00:21:49.000 To issue more subpoenas than laws?
00:21:53.000 To appease the new Democrat socialist base?
00:21:55.000 I'm...
00:22:01.000 Everybody's booing.
00:22:03.000 No, he's right.
00:22:04.000 He's right.
00:22:04.000 Okay, but then there were the Republicans who were wrong.
00:22:06.000 So Representative Mike Kelly gets up there from Pennsylvania and he says, this is like Pearl Harbor.
00:22:14.000 Nope, not so much.
00:22:16.000 You know, like when the Japanese Imperial forces attacked America at Hawaii and killed a thousand Americans, more than a thousand Americans.
00:22:24.000 Not, not so much like that.
00:22:26.000 I mean, like if I were going to go with like things that it's like, that's not high on the list.
00:22:29.000 Here he is saying a thing.
00:22:31.000 On December 7th, 1941, a horrific act happened in the United States, and it's one that President Roosevelt said, this is a date that will live in infamy.
00:22:41.000 Today, December the 18th, 2019, is another date that will live in infamy.
00:22:46.000 Just because you hate the president of the United States and you can find no other reason other than the fact that you're so blinded by your hate that you can't see straight that you've decided the only way we can make sure this president doesn't get elected again is to impeach him.
00:23:01.000 It's not really like Pearl Harbor.
00:23:04.000 At all.
00:23:05.000 And then the worst one was Representative Barry Loudermilk from Georgia.
00:23:09.000 He gets up and he says, President Trump is being treated worse than Jesus.
00:23:12.000 Well, seeing as Jesus was actually crucified and died on the cross, if you're a Christian for his sins, was resurrected, if you're a Jew, just died on the cross, no matter how you slice it, wasn't particularly great for Jesus.
00:23:23.000 That trial was not, I would say, like a real great example of due process.
00:23:28.000 I'm gonna go with no on the Trump to Jesus comparison on this one.
00:23:34.000 Before you take this historic vote today, one week before Christmas, I want you to keep this in mind.
00:23:40.000 When Jesus was falsely accused of treason, Pontius Pilate gave Jesus the opportunity to face his accusers.
00:23:47.000 During that sham trial, Pontius Pilate afforded more rights to Jesus than the Democrats have afforded this President in this process.
00:23:56.000 Merry Christmas to you!
00:23:57.000 I mean... Whoa!
00:24:03.000 Nope!
00:24:04.000 That's a no on that.
00:24:05.000 So things that, just for the record, things that this impeachment is not like.
00:24:08.000 The Salem witch trials.
00:24:10.000 The crucifixion of Jesus.
00:24:13.000 Pearl Harbor, things the impeachment is like, and impeachment.
00:24:17.000 Just gonna put that out there.
00:24:18.000 I feel like that's a safe thing to say.
00:24:20.000 Okay, in a second we're gonna get to President Trump's response to all of this because President Trump went off.
00:24:25.000 He went off.
00:24:25.000 And then we'll get to Nancy Pelosi's latest stratagem.
00:24:28.000 Wow, the master strategist at work.
00:24:31.000 Nancy Pelosi.
00:24:32.000 And we'll get to that in one second.
00:24:33.000 This whole thing is so stupid.
00:24:34.000 I'm sorry, it's idiotic.
00:24:35.000 We'll get to all of this in one second.
00:24:37.000 In one idiotic second.
00:24:39.000 First, let's talk about the fact that if you are running a business, you need to make sure that you have all the numbers in front of you.

00:24:49.000 And we have an integrated system.

00:26:04.000 Go check them out right now.
00:26:05.000 Okay, so President Trump responds to all of this hubbub yesterday.
00:26:09.000 He has a tweet on the impeachment.
00:26:12.000 And this is actually correct.
00:26:14.000 Okay, this is actually correct.
00:26:15.000 It's a picture of President Trump in black and white staring at the camera, man style.
00:26:20.000 And it says, in reality, they're not after me.
00:26:22.000 They're after you.
00:26:23.000 I'm just in the way.
00:26:25.000 That's how most conservatives feel.
00:26:27.000 This is what I've been pointing out over the last several days.
00:26:29.000 They're saying about Ukraine.
00:26:30.000 They're saying about what Trump did or what he didn't do.
00:26:33.000 What this is really about for most Americans is the media and the Democrats targeting Trump because they hate that Trump is president and they hate that a lot of people voted for him.
00:26:42.000 And I think that that's what the polls are showing.
00:26:44.000 The polls have cut against this impeachment.
00:26:45.000 The Democrats did not prove a bipartisan case.
00:26:47.000 They did not even prove criminal conduct.
00:26:49.000 Instead, they just threw something against the wall.
00:26:52.000 They threw the poop against the wall.
00:26:53.000 It didn't quite stick.
00:26:54.000 And now they're mad about it.
00:26:56.000 So, President Trump did this huge rally in Michigan last night.
00:27:00.000 He got up on stage as soon as they started the vote because it was obvious that this whole thing was going to go in favor of impeachment, that it wasn't going to be stopped.
00:27:08.000 Mike Pence began the rally, he introduced the rally, by saying this thing is a complete disgrace.
00:27:13.000 So here is the Vice President of the United States saying that this thing is a disgrace.
00:27:19.000 You know, what's going on in Washington, D.C.
00:27:21.000 tonight is a disgrace.
00:27:26.000 From day one of this administration, Democrats in Washington have been trying to overturn the results of the last election.
00:27:34.000 And they're back at it tonight with this partisan impeachment vote.
00:27:41.000 You know, the truth is, men and women, They're trying to impeach this president because they know they can't defeat this president.
00:27:50.000 And there is truth to all this.
00:27:51.000 President Trump, for his part, he was jazzed up about this.
00:27:54.000 Here's the thing.
00:27:54.000 Trump thrives on the conflict.
00:27:55.000 He kind of likes the conflict.
00:27:56.000 So President Trump gets up.
00:27:57.000 This is his favorite place to be.
00:27:59.000 Under fire in front of a big crowd of supporters.
00:28:01.000 That is his place.
00:28:02.000 I mean, that is his comfort place.
00:28:03.000 Some of us have a quiet room where we sip coffee and think about our lives.
00:28:07.000 President Trump has giant rallies filled with supporters where he yells about how he's being smacked around and how he's going to take those hits.
00:28:14.000 He loves this.
00:28:15.000 So here's President Trump in the mood, in the mood to rumble!
00:28:19.000 He says, it doesn't feel like we're being impeached because the reality is most Americans don't care about it.
00:28:23.000 And he's correct about this.
00:28:26.000 It doesn't really feel like we're being impeached.
00:28:29.000 The country is doing better than ever before.
00:28:34.000 We did nothing wrong.
00:28:37.000 We did nothing wrong.
00:28:40.000 And we have tremendous support in the Republican Party like we've never had before.
00:28:44.000 Nobody's ever had this kind of support.
00:28:48.000 Okay, and then he goes on and he says, listen, Democrats right here, they're not declaring their hatred for me.
00:28:52.000 They're declaring their hatred for the American voter.
00:28:54.000 With today's illegal, unconstitutional, and partisan impeachment, the do-nothing Democrats, and they are do-nothing, all they want to do is focus on this, what they could be doing, are declaring their deep hatred and disdain for the American voter.
00:29:15.000 Again, he is correct about this when he says that this is really about the Democrats can't accept what happened in the last election.
00:29:20.000 Correct.
00:29:21.000 And then he goes on.
00:29:21.000 He says Democrats have branded themselves with the mark of shame.
00:29:25.000 OK, if you like theatrics, this is your sort of thing.
00:29:28.000 If you feel like it's a little bit overwrought, like on all sides, then I guess you're kind of bored.
00:29:35.000 But if you love the man, the circus is in town and let's do this thing through there.
00:29:42.000 Depraved actions today.
00:29:45.000 Crazy Nancy Pelosi's House Democrats have branded themselves with an eternal mark of shame.
00:29:53.000 And it really is, it's a disgrace.
00:29:55.000 Okay, all of this is fine.
00:29:57.000 And then President Trump gets a rollin'.
00:29:59.000 Then he gets a rollin'.
00:30:00.000 And once Bluto's a rollin', don't stop him.
00:30:03.000 So he starts with the insults, the insult comedy.
00:30:05.000 So this is another one of President Trump's favorite things to do.
00:30:09.000 So he starts off by going after Crooked Hillary.
00:30:11.000 You know, you go with the old crowd pleasers, the old favorites.
00:30:14.000 He says, Bill is walking around the house calling for Crooked Hillary.
00:30:20.000 So what happens is Bill Clinton said to Crooked Hillary, his very dishonest wife, said, Crooked Hillary, do you think he calls her Crooked Hillary or not?
00:30:32.000 Maybe he just calls her Crooked.
00:30:36.000 He said, Crooked, I'm telling you.
00:30:38.000 Okay, so that's funny.
00:30:41.000 Okay, and then he goes after Adam Schiff again.
00:30:44.000 Now he's already called him pencil neck.
00:30:45.000 Then he starts talking about how Adam Schiff is ugly.
00:30:47.000 So we basically got Triumph the Insult Comic Dog doing a presidential address.
00:30:56.000 America!
00:30:57.000 Here's President Trump going after Adam Schiff and calling him an ugly Mike.
00:31:00.000 Yeah, just like Lincoln would.
00:31:02.000 Just like Lincoln.
00:31:04.000 No, he's a corrupt.
00:31:05.000 And then I see him, by the way.
00:31:06.000 You ever see this guy?
00:31:08.000 He walks up to the mic.
00:31:10.000 I mean, we're not in all for it.
00:31:11.000 Look, I don't want to be because with me, too.
00:31:14.000 I never even think about looks anymore.
00:31:15.000 OK, I don't talk about looks of a male or female.
00:31:19.000 But in his case, let's just say last time I'll ever refer to this.
00:31:23.000 He's not exactly the best looking guy we've ever seen.
00:31:25.000 So, no.
00:31:29.000 Oh, it's so stupid.
00:31:39.000 Everything is stupid.
00:31:40.000 The impeachment is stupid.
00:31:41.000 The response to the impeachment is stupid.
00:31:43.000 The speech is stupid.
00:31:44.000 Everything's stupid.
00:31:46.000 If you can't enjoy this, I don't know what's wrong with you.
00:31:48.000 Like, at least you gotta enjoy the ride, man.
00:31:50.000 Again, we all bought this ticket.
00:31:52.000 We all have a part to play here.
00:31:55.000 We'll get to President Trump.
00:31:56.000 So President Trump starts with the insult comedy and he starts here.
00:31:59.000 And it's like, it's pretty good.
00:32:01.000 And then he's sort of like, well, you're getting into a little dicier territory.
00:32:03.000 And then President Trump is like, they're still laughing.
00:32:05.000 They're still laughing.
00:32:06.000 Watch me throw out a full on Richard Pryor.
00:32:08.000 And then he just goes for it.
00:32:09.000 We'll talk to you.
00:32:10.000 We'll talk about President Trump going for it and why.
00:32:12.000 Him having no lines is, like, the biggest obstacle to his own re-election is Trump, right?
00:32:17.000 Obviously.
00:32:18.000 And then we'll get to the Democratic strategy on impeachment moving forward, which is one of the dumber strategies I have ever heard in my entire life.
00:32:25.000 We'll get to that in just one second.
00:32:27.000 First, hiring can be a challenge not just for those of us here at The Daily Wire, also for Codable founder Gretchen Hiebner.
00:32:33.000 Gretchen needed to hire a game artist for her education tech company.
00:32:37.000 She knew it wouldn't be easy to find someone to grow with her team, and that's why she headed over to ZipRecruiter.
00:32:42.000 ZipRecruiter doesn't depend on candidates finding you, it finds them for you.
00:32:45.000 Its technology identifies people with the right experience, invites them to apply to your job, so you get qualified candidates fast.
00:32:50.000 Gretchen posted her job on ZipRecruiter.
00:32:52.000 She said she was impressed with how quickly she found qualified applicants.
00:32:55.000 She also used ZipRecruiter's screening questions to filter candidates so she could focus on the best ones.
00:33:00.000 And that's how Gretchen found a new game artist.
00:33:02.000 In less than two weeks.
00:33:03.000 With results like that, it's no wonder four out of five employers who post on ZipRecruiter get a quality candidate within the very first day.
00:33:09.000 Finding the right employees can make your company so much better.
00:33:13.000 Like, say that you had a producer, and that producer had risen all the way through the ranks of your company.
00:33:17.000 I mean, just really a stellar employee.
00:33:19.000 And say that he had made just one mistake in his life, and that was that he had not proposed to his longtime girlfriend.
00:33:24.000 And you were just on the verge of thinking to yourself, this guy has bad judgment.
00:33:27.000 We have to get rid of this guy.
00:33:28.000 But then he made the proposal.
00:33:30.000 Well, then you wouldn't have to use ZipRecruiter, but if you do need to replace somebody, if you do need to replace somebody, or you need to get a new employee who's fantastic, ZipRecruiter.com is the way to do it.
00:33:39.000 See why ZipRecruiter is effective for businesses of all sizes.

00:33:53.000 And by the way, congratulations to Mathis and Caitlin, who got engaged yesterday.
00:33:57.000 For those of you who are longtime followers of the show, those names have cropped up before.
00:34:01.000 Mathis is like the very first producer on this show.
00:34:04.000 And he is now, like, one of the heads of production.
00:34:06.000 And he just proposed to Caitlin, who also works in our office.
00:34:09.000 It's like, amazing news.
00:34:10.000 I'm very happy about that.
00:34:11.000 Good news for you.

00:35:08.000 He's a deep, deeply believing Christian.
00:35:12.000 Really a fascinating guy, a really great dude.
00:35:14.000 Here's a little bit of what that sounded like.
00:35:18.000 By the time I graduated high school, doors were opening for an acting career, and I thought I might as well keep this career going.
00:35:25.000 And the doors that were opening were lining up with what was happening to me on the inside.
00:35:29.000 I want to be about things that promote faith.
00:35:31.000 I want to be about things that promote family and marriage.
00:35:34.000 And here I am, looking in the rearview mirror, saying, this has been awesome.
00:35:40.000 It's pretty spectacular.
00:35:41.000 I mean, this is somebody who really gave up some fame and fortune to lead a more fulfilling life.
00:35:46.000 Kirk has like, he has six kids, four of them adopted.
00:35:48.000 What an amazing dude.
00:35:49.000 Go check that out, the Sunday special.
00:35:51.000 It comes out on Saturday.
00:35:52.000 If you are a subscriber, you should subscribe anyway.
00:35:54.000 And again, you get that 25% off all the way until January 1st.
00:35:56.000 First, we are the largest, fastest growing conservative podcast and radio show in the nation.
00:35:59.000 So President Trump's response to the impeachment is pretty much right on.
00:36:09.000 It's like, look, this is just partisan.
00:36:10.000 They're after you.
00:36:11.000 They're not really after me.
00:36:12.000 And that is true.
00:36:13.000 But President Trump's just reminded us last night that his greatest asset is the fact that the media hate him and the fact the Democrats hate him.
00:36:20.000 And his greatest foible is the fact that he cannot stop himself.
00:36:23.000 So he starts with the insult comedy at his rally in Michigan, and he starts off with the crooked Hillary bit, which is very funny.
00:36:28.000 And then he goes on to the Adam Schiff bit, Which is a little bit less funny, but still kind of funny.
00:36:32.000 And then he goes after John Dingell.
00:36:35.000 John Dingell, so Debbie Dingell's a representative in Michigan.
00:36:37.000 She just took over her husband John Dingell's seat.
00:36:39.000 John Dingell was in Congress for 1,000 years.
00:36:41.000 And he recently died.
00:36:42.000 And Trump, in the middle of this rally, sort of dumps out the idea that John Dingell may be in hell.
00:36:47.000 Which is like, oh my god, why?
00:36:49.000 Why?
00:36:50.000 Here's the president.
00:36:52.000 Do this, do that, do that.
00:36:54.000 Rotunda, everything.
00:36:55.000 I gave him everything.
00:36:56.000 That's okay.
00:36:57.000 I don't want anything for it.
00:36:58.000 I don't need anything for anything.
00:37:01.000 She calls me up.
00:37:02.000 It's the nicest thing that's ever happened.
00:37:04.000 Thank you so much.
00:37:06.000 John would be so thrilled.
00:37:08.000 He's looking down.
00:37:09.000 He'd be so, thank you so much, sir.
00:37:12.000 I said, that's okay.
00:37:13.000 Don't worry about it.
00:37:15.000 Maybe he's looking up.
00:37:16.000 I don't know.
00:37:19.000 Okay, so, Debbie Dingle then went on National TV and she's like, um, you probably shouldn't imply that my husband's in hell.
00:37:25.000 That seems like not a good thing to do.
00:37:27.000 And, um, correct.
00:37:29.000 Fact check true.
00:37:30.000 You probably shouldn't do that.
00:37:31.000 Here's Debbie Dingle.
00:37:32.000 You know, I think it's time to put politics aside on these kind of shots.
00:37:37.000 I try to be respectful of everybody.
00:37:40.000 I've never taken a personal shot at this president.
00:37:43.000 I think his family is off limits.
00:37:46.000 I was very grateful.
00:37:47.000 By the way, he...
00:37:50.000 I didn't call him, he called me to tell me he was lowering the flags and that meant a lot.
00:37:54.000 I don't want to politicize my husband.
00:37:56.000 I don't want to politicize his death.
00:37:58.000 It is still something that I'm really grieving over.
00:38:01.000 This Thanksgiving was really hard and Christmas is harder and I'm going to go back to doing my job and doing a good job for the people of my district.
00:38:10.000 Okay, so again, the greatest threat to Trump's re-election is not the Democrats, it's not the media, it's Trump doing this kind of stuff.
00:38:16.000 Okay, speaking of the media, the media yesterday just, I mean, they put on their somber, sad, serious, sober faces.
00:38:21.000 And they went right along with Nancy Pelosi.
00:38:22.000 I had Dana Bash over at CNN going, this was very serious and very grave.
00:38:25.000 You could feel the gravity on the floor.
00:38:28.000 So many sad Democrats.
00:38:29.000 Yes, I'm sure they were heartbroken, just like the members of the media who are going out and back popping champagne, as we'll show you in a moment.
00:38:35.000 You can feel it in the air here.
00:38:37.000 It feels different.
00:38:38.000 It is palpable that this is momentous, that this is brave.
00:38:44.000 And again, it is, despite the Democrats' talking points, not something that this speaker wanted to do for and about this president.
00:38:54.000 They definitely didn't want to do it, guys.
00:38:55.000 By the way, Nancy Pelosi said everybody has a spring in their step this morning.
00:38:58.000 So yeah, they sort of did.
00:38:59.000 Wolf Blitzer did the same thing.
00:39:00.000 It's a sober moment on Capitol Hill, says Wolf.
00:39:03.000 In any minute we expect, I think there are about 234 House Democrats.
00:39:08.000 They have the majority now since the 2018 election.
00:39:10.000 In any moment we expect many, if not most, or even all potentially of them to come to the floor of the House of Representatives and stand with Speaker Pelosi as they begin this procedure, this very serious rebuke of President Trump.
00:39:25.000 The impeachment, only the third time in American history it's happened.
00:39:28.000 Yeah, it's a somber, somber mood up on Capitol Hill.
00:39:31.000 Such a somber mood.
00:39:32.000 Supremely somber.
00:39:33.000 So somber.
00:39:34.000 Here's Nancy Pelosi this morning saying, also we have a spring in our step.
00:39:37.000 Weird.
00:39:38.000 And now she's wearing, again, you can chart her mood by the wardrobe.
00:39:43.000 I like that.
00:39:43.000 It's sort of like...
00:39:45.000 In movies, when they cast movies and when they decide to do wardrobe for movies, they tend to have the garments reflect the interior mood of the person.
00:39:52.000 So if you watch the Star- I've made a bunch of Star Wars references, it's on my mind, my kids are into it right now.
00:39:56.000 If you watch Emperor Palpatine, when he's Senator Palpatine, he wears blues and reds.
00:40:00.000 And then as he becomes Emperor Palpatine, he wears black.
00:40:02.000 So yesterday she was in her Emperor Palpatine mood, now she is in her Senator Palpatine mood.
00:40:06.000 And she says, no, listen, I'm happy today.
00:40:08.000 Today I'm a hap- Really?
00:40:09.000 What happened to sad, somber, sober, serious Nancy?
00:40:13.000 What happened to her?
00:40:13.000 Here she is.
00:40:14.000 Now she's got a spring in her step and she's got some... she's got a smile on her lips and... Okay, here she is.
00:40:21.000 We've been hearing from people all over the country and the last... since last night and this morning.
00:40:29.000 Seems like people have a spring in their steps because the president was held accountable for his reckless behavior.
00:40:35.000 No one is above the law and the Constitution is the supreme law of the land.
00:40:43.000 No one is above the law and the president has been held accountable.
00:40:47.000 She looks so upset and so sad.
00:40:49.000 I mean, like she's going to cry right there.
00:40:51.000 Also, she started then hobbling away going, when there's a shine on your shoes, there's a melody in your heart.
00:40:58.000 What a singable happy feeling, wonderful way to start when there's a- Like, full Fred Astaire routine from the bandwagon.
00:41:04.000 It was really weird, but she did it anyway.
00:41:07.000 The Washington Post reporters were also extremely excited.
00:41:10.000 So the Washington Post reporters, they went out drinking.
00:41:13.000 Here was their picture.
00:41:15.000 Do they look somber, sober, sad, serious?
00:41:18.000 Rachel Bade, who's one of the reporters, she tweeted out, Merry Impeachmas from the Washington Post team.
00:41:23.000 PK Capital is buying.
00:41:25.000 And then she had to delete it.
00:41:26.000 She's like, I didn't really mean that we're pro-impeachment.
00:41:28.000 Oh yes, you look super sober, sad, somber, serious.
00:41:31.000 I remember when you took this picture like last week in the middle of the impeachment hearings.
00:41:34.000 And then you, nope.
00:41:36.000 And then she's like, we didn't mean this to be biased.
00:41:38.000 Oh, oh, didn't you?
00:41:40.000 Oh, didn't you now?
00:41:43.000 And then you've got Chris Matthews.
00:41:44.000 So the Democrats have set up this conundrum.
00:41:46.000 If Trump stays in office, he's gonna steal the next election.
00:41:49.000 If he leaves office, then he won't steal the next election, but we don't actually have the grounds to oust him.
00:41:54.000 So you have Chris Matthews, who's out there doing the full-on Democrat routine.
00:41:59.000 Wheelin' over here, comin' to the show, comin' to here.
00:42:01.000 Now that Trump's been impeached, he's gonna do anything to stay in office.
00:42:04.000 He'll just do anything, as opposed to before when he would do anything to stay in office.
00:42:07.000 Now he's definitely gonna do anything to stay in office.
00:42:09.000 It's as though I had a conclusion already written in my head, and then I just kind of rolled in here all rumpled.
00:42:14.000 And I was like, let's just say it again.
00:42:16.000 Ha!
00:42:17.000 Go!
00:42:18.000 He is now ugly because he used the word the other day.
00:42:21.000 Impeachment is ugly.
00:42:22.000 I'm now ugly.
00:42:23.000 How's he going to react to this?
00:42:25.000 He's now ugly in history.
00:42:26.000 He is ugly in history.
00:42:28.000 And how's he going to react to that?
00:42:30.000 Is he going to break worse?
00:42:32.000 But I'll tell you one thing that's going to do to him.
00:42:34.000 He now will do anything to get reelected.
00:42:37.000 Because it's the only way back for him.
00:42:39.000 Right.
00:42:40.000 Is to double this.
00:42:41.000 To win twice.
00:42:42.000 No matter what the deep state, fake media, etc.
00:42:46.000 He has to win the next time.
00:42:46.000 etc.
00:42:48.000 He's ugly in history.
00:42:49.000 I mean like super ugly.
00:42:50.000 Is he going to break bad?
00:42:52.000 Is he going to start cooking meth?
00:42:54.000 Is that what's going to happen?
00:42:54.000 Are we going to have Trump meth?
00:42:56.000 With big T?
00:42:56.000 It won't be blue, it'll be gold.
00:42:58.000 Ha!
00:43:00.000 Chris Matthews.
00:43:01.000 And so what exactly is Nancy Pelosi going to do now?
00:43:03.000 So here's the problem for the Democrats.
00:43:04.000 Yesterday was a big day for them.
00:43:06.000 Like, yeah, we impeached the president.
00:43:08.000 Now he's definitely not going to be the... Oh, wait, like now... Oh, like this has to go to the Senate and Mitch McConnell runs the Senate.
00:43:17.000 Mitch McConnell went off this morning specifically because Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats have decided upon a stratagem.
00:43:23.000 What exactly is their stratagem?
00:43:24.000 Their stratagem, get ready for it.
00:43:26.000 Their strategy is that if President, if they do not get the procedures that they like from Mitch McConnell, they may withhold the impeachment articles.
00:43:37.000 So they won't allow a Senate trial.
00:43:38.000 They'll just hold it.
00:43:39.000 They won't send it over to the Senate.
00:43:41.000 The Senate, by the way, gets to decide its own procedures the same way the House gets to decide its procedures.
00:43:45.000 Nancy Pelosi, she actually said this morning that they may not convey, that they may not convey the articles of impeachment to the Senate.
00:43:53.000 Do we have that clip?
00:43:56.000 She announced this, this is actually late last night, maybe we won't convey it, maybe we'll just sit here until we get the impeachment procedures that we want.
00:44:03.000 Which is basically like that scene from Blazing Saddles, where the black sheriff, in an attempt to avoid his own lynching, puts a gun to his own head and threatens the townspeople that he's gonna shoot himself.
00:44:14.000 Like this is the Democrats going, it's the Democrats saying, if you don't give me what I want, I'm gonna commit suicide!
00:44:21.000 If you do not change your procedures on impeachment, we just won't send you impeachment!
00:44:26.000 How about that?
00:44:28.000 How about that?
00:44:30.000 And then he won't- And then he'll be impe- He won't be- And then you'll- And then- What's the logic here?
00:44:38.000 Here's Nancy Pelosi again.
00:44:39.000 This is from- You can tell it's last night.
00:44:40.000 She's wearing her Palpatine.
00:44:41.000 Her Palpatine Emperor ABSOLUTE POWER robe.
00:44:44.000 Here she goes.
00:44:47.000 Well, again, we'll decide what that dynamic is.
00:44:51.000 But we hope that the resolution of that process will be soon in the Senate.
00:44:58.000 Oh, well, she's not going to.
00:44:59.000 We'll see.
00:45:00.000 We won't appoint impeachment managers until after the Senate does what we want.
00:45:04.000 So Mitch McConnell gets up on the floor of the Senate this morning.
00:45:06.000 He's like, what are you?
00:45:07.000 Are you joking?
00:45:08.000 Are you joking?
00:45:10.000 Are you looking at me?
00:45:11.000 Cocaine Mitch?
00:45:12.000 You're looking at me?
00:45:14.000 A turtle who deals actual crack cocaine?
00:45:18.000 And you're telling me that you're going to play with me?
00:45:21.000 Does this look like the face of a man you play with, says Mitch McConnell?
00:45:24.000 Here he goes.
00:45:26.000 Speaker Pelosi's house just gave in to a temptation that every other house in our history has managed to resist.
00:45:38.000 They impeach a president whom they do not even allege has committed an actual crime known to our laws.
00:45:44.000 And then McConnell goes on, he's like, and so your plan is to threaten me by not allowing me to hold a trial on the impeachment articles you are so confident of?
00:45:55.000 So your pitch is, if Trump isn't impeached, like Chris Matthews says, then he'll do anything to win!
00:46:00.000 He'll cheat!
00:46:01.000 He'll call the Chinese!
00:46:03.000 He'll have them bust over voters in Iowa!
00:46:06.000 And so your plan is to not submit your articles of impeachment to the only body capable of removing President Trump from office.
00:46:13.000 And to threaten the Republicans with this.
00:46:16.000 Looking petty and idiotic in the process.
00:46:18.000 That's your plan?
00:46:20.000 That is your strategy.
00:46:22.000 How do they think this is going to play?
00:46:23.000 Do they think the American people are going to be like, well, you know, she's totally right.
00:46:26.000 I guess that, I guess that we can't have a Senate trial until Mitch McConnell does it the way Nancy Pelosi wants.
00:46:30.000 Or is it going to be like, listen, we already are not super fond of this.
00:46:33.000 You want to drag this out by not even just submitting it so we can get it over with?
00:46:37.000 You're the ones who rushed this thing forward in like two months with no evidence sufficient to support a criminal indictment.
00:46:45.000 This is, This is your strategy?
00:46:49.000 And not only is this their idiot strategy, they're trotting out their best and brightest to defend this ridiculous idiot strategy.
00:46:57.000 They're trotting out Kamala Harris in the Senate.
00:47:00.000 So, I don't know, if you've got a functional brain, I do not know how the person you choose to be the face of We Need Fair Procedures is the senator who tried to suggest that Justice Kavanaugh is guilty of a bevy of rapes for which there was no evidence.
00:47:13.000 That's what Kamala Harris did.
00:47:15.000 She trotted in like Michael Avenatti's fake victims.
00:47:18.000 Or at least evidence-free victims.
00:47:20.000 And she started, like, telling their stories in the middle of a Senate hearing to try and thwart Justice Kavanaugh's appointment to the Supreme Court.
00:47:26.000 Kamala Harris is a joke.
00:47:28.000 So what does the New York Times do?
00:47:29.000 They go and they get her to write an editorial on this.
00:47:32.000 Will McConnell let the Senate hold a fair impeachment trial?
00:47:34.000 Yes.
00:47:35.000 Tell me more about fair due process standards, Kamala Harris.
00:47:40.000 I mean, that is when you're not jailing mothers for truancy.
00:47:42.000 I mean, tell me more, mistress of justice.
00:47:47.000 When you're not suggesting that everyone you dislike ought to be thrown in jail.
00:47:50.000 And could they have found a worse face for this particular thing?
00:47:54.000 A worse front for this particular thing?
00:47:56.000 According to Kamala Harris.
00:47:58.000 As a former prosecutor, I understand the importance of holding powerful people accountable like truant mothers and sending them to prison.
00:48:04.000 I know that every trial requires fairness and truth.
00:48:06.000 Just like in the Justice Kavanaugh hearings where we didn't do justice and we didn't do truth and we just vomited out a bunch of allegations with no evidence in order to smear a dude because we didn't like his perspective on Roe vs. Wade.
00:48:18.000 Kamala Harris, I mean, what?
00:48:20.000 I don't know if the New York... Like, do they have a mirror over at the New York Times?
00:48:22.000 Do they have any sense of self-awareness over at the New York Times?
00:48:25.000 It's so amazing.
00:48:27.000 Like, every time there is a story about a bad foreign policy incident for the Trump administration, supposedly, they trot out, like, Susan Rice to talk about honesty, a person who lied to the American public repeatedly about Benghazi.
00:48:40.000 And then when there's a problem in the DOJ, they trot out Eric Holder, who called himself Barack Obama's wingman to talk about honesty in the DOJ.
00:48:47.000 And now they're trying to talk about fair hearings on the Senate side?
00:48:50.000 And they trot out Kamala Harris, the least fair person in the Senate.
00:48:54.000 It's unreal!
00:48:56.000 The lack of self-awareness is just shocking.
00:48:59.000 Kamala Harris writes, Having worked my whole life serving the people, I know that any trial that abandons the pursuit of truth cannot be considered just or fair.
00:49:07.000 Justice Kavanaugh, 1,000 times Justice Kavanaugh.
00:49:10.000 She says, but the Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell appears more interested in covering up the president's misconduct than in pursuing truth and fairness.
00:49:17.000 He is already trying to limit the impeachment trial by preventing witnesses from testifying.
00:49:21.000 He has all but announced a verdict.
00:49:23.000 In doing so, he showed the American people he has no intention of honoring his oath.
00:49:30.000 I feel like Kamala Harris, who's already suggested that she backs impeachment, maybe she should recuse.
00:49:34.000 Maybe Elizabeth Warren should recuse.
00:49:36.000 In fact, maybe all the Democrats should recuse, since a huge majority of them have already said something about the impeachment.
00:49:43.000 She said, Kamala Harris says, let's be clear.
00:49:45.000 Mr. McConnell doesn't want a Senate trial.
00:49:46.000 He wants a Senate cover up.
00:49:48.000 Well, it seems that Nancy Pelosi doesn't want a Senate trial either, since she's not actually just sending it.
00:49:52.000 See, they can make these same complaints after McConnell does it.
00:49:55.000 This is the part where you notice that the Democrats have nothing because they can complain the same way Republicans did when House Democrats were Shuffling through incredibly narrow rules of order on the impeachment side.
00:50:08.000 The Republicans complained about it.
00:50:09.000 Democrats could do the same thing.
00:50:10.000 They could say, listen, we did the process.
00:50:11.000 The Republicans were unfair.
00:50:12.000 Trump got off.
00:50:13.000 That's because they're unfair.
00:50:14.000 Instead, they're like, we're not even going to submit this thing.
00:50:16.000 We're not going to submit it because if we submit it, then it won't go our way.
00:50:20.000 And it might turn out that our charges are extremely weak.
00:50:23.000 Ridiculous.
00:50:25.000 Again, Kamala Harris is a rep.
00:50:27.000 Adam Schiff is a rep.
00:50:28.000 Could you put forward worse representatives of the, we are impartial, truth seekers?
00:50:34.000 Sure, sure you are.
00:50:36.000 Okay, time for a quick thing I like and then a quick thing that I hate.
00:50:41.000 So things that I like today.
00:50:42.000 So there is a great video that was going around from Northwestern University of a special Olympian named Stefan Zita singing the national anthem before a Northwestern, I believe it's a Northwestern baseball game.
00:50:53.000 And it's just, it's just wonderful.
00:50:54.000 It's, it's pretty great.
00:50:55.000 right here here is it that's good stuff you America's still a pretty great country, even if our politics is broken, stupid, and backwards.
00:51:25.000 It just is ridiculous.
00:51:26.000 Other things that are good.
00:51:27.000 So today, a good thing from the Trump administration, U.S.
00:51:30.000 Ambassador Grinnell over in Germany, Rick Grinnell, who has been just put upon by the left.
00:51:35.000 They hate Rick Grinnell because he happens to be a gay man serving in the Trump administration.
00:51:40.000 Germany, in cooperation with Grinnell, Germany banned Hezbollah in its entirety.
00:51:47.000 They called it a terrorist group, which is a very important thing because Hezbollah currently runs Lebanon.
00:51:51.000 It's about to start a war with Israel that will happen inside the next two to three years.
00:51:54.000 It'll be very ugly.
00:51:55.000 It'll be very bloody.
00:51:56.000 This is what Hezbollah does.
00:51:57.000 Having Germany at least on the right side of that battle is a big win for the Trump administration and a win for Western civilization.
00:52:02.000 The fact that so many members of the EU continue to do business with terrorist groups speaks to their lack of moral rectitude.
00:52:09.000 And this is why whenever people say, why don't we listen to what the Europeans have to say?
00:52:12.000 Yeah, when they start actually treating terrorism seriously in the Middle East, then I'll start listening to their moral preening.
00:52:17.000 Because I'm not, I'm not feeling it.
00:52:19.000 Okay, time for a quick thing that I hate.
00:52:25.000 So, Michelle Wolf was so bad at comedying that she lost her job on Netflix, which is nearly impossible to do.
00:52:30.000 I mean, Netflix doesn't even release viewership statistics.
00:52:33.000 And Netflix had hired her because they didn't have enough left-wingers.
00:52:37.000 They needed somebody who was so wildly to the left that they could then brag about how wildly to the left she was.
00:52:43.000 Well, she did a comedy routine the other night that really does speak to the difference in tone about abortion that has occurred on the left.
00:52:48.000 So, it used to be Every abortion is a tragedy.
00:52:52.000 Every abortion, but they're necessary in some circumstances.
00:52:55.000 And we can't make that very hard judgment for a woman.
00:52:57.000 It's a bad argument, but at least it's an emotionally appealing argument.
00:53:01.000 And then you get to Michelle Wolf.
00:53:02.000 This is not just a bad argument.
00:53:03.000 It is not even an emotionally appealing argument.
00:53:05.000 It's actually, it's actually just her being extraordinarily evil.
00:53:09.000 I mean, what you're about to hear, it does sound like a Nazi eugenic Celebration of the killing of the unborn is what you're about to hear.
00:53:17.000 And this was cheered by an audience.
00:53:19.000 I mean, this is hideous, hideous stuff.
00:53:23.000 Here's Michelle Wolf being both unfunny and also an awful human being.
00:53:27.000 We don't talk about abortion in a real way.
00:53:29.000 We talk about it in a very legislative way, but not in a real way.
00:53:32.000 So I think a lot of women have a lot of apprehension surrounding it.
00:53:36.000 You know, we talk about it so negatively that you feel like you should have this sense of shame after you get an abortion.
00:53:43.000 Well, you can feel any way you want after you get an abortion.
00:53:45.000 Get one!
00:53:47.000 See how you feel!
00:53:50.000 You know how my abortion made me feel?
00:53:53.000 Very powerful.
00:53:55.000 You know how people say you can't play God?
00:53:56.000 I walked out of there being like, move over, Morgan Freeman.
00:54:06.000 I am God. - Oh my God.
00:54:11.000 Um, yeah, so that's, um, that's a person being an evil person.
00:54:16.000 I mean that is, that is, that's, last Palpatine reference of the show, I promise.
00:54:19.000 That is Emperor Palpatine.
00:54:20.000 Absolute power.
00:54:29.000 Okay.
00:54:30.000 And there goes Miss Windu.
00:54:31.000 But the fact is that when you have people who are openly cheering the fact... I mean, what made her feel like God there?
00:54:36.000 I mean, analyze it for just a second.
00:54:38.000 What made her feel so powerful?
00:54:39.000 See, I don't think she's lying.
00:54:40.000 I think she's being honest about how she felt.
00:54:41.000 I think she probably walked out of the abortion clinic feeling very powerful because she had gotten to define life on her own terms.
00:54:49.000 Which is not only playing God, it's also playing Satan.
00:54:52.000 I mean, that is about as evil as it gets.
00:54:55.000 I felt like I was playing God when I took this human life and I killed it for my own convenience or for any other purpose.
00:55:03.000 Because I felt like defining it that way and thus I got to end it.
00:55:06.000 And this is the same lady who once suggested that an abortion isn't killing a human life, it's just preventing it.
00:55:11.000 It's like a DeLorean.
00:55:12.000 She actually made this comparison.
00:55:14.000 She said it's like Back to the Future and the DeLorean preventing inactivity in the past.
00:55:18.000 Yeah, except for the fact that it's already a human life.
00:55:19.000 If you want to prevent the formation of that human life in the first place, in the vast majority of cases, we're not talking about rape, we're talking about a consensual sexual activity.
00:55:28.000 There's a pretty easy way to prevent pregnancy.
00:55:30.000 Birth control does exist, and or, not having sex does exist.
00:55:33.000 But in any case, Michelle Wolf.
00:55:37.000 Championing the abortion.
00:55:38.000 I mean, this is a shift in the language, in the tone, in the tenor of the left.
00:55:41.000 And then you wonder why evangelical Christians support President Trump.
00:55:44.000 You don't have to like President Trump's treatment of women.
00:55:47.000 You don't have to like the fact that he says nasty things about people.
00:55:49.000 You don't have to like a lot of things about the dude.
00:55:51.000 But if the alternative is a Democratic Party that thinks that that is funny, a Democratic Party and an entire political wing of the United States that cheers and laughs When a human being says about the killing of an unborn human being that that killing made her feel powerful like God?
00:56:08.000 Like that's- I will vote for pretty much anything before I vote for anybody who laughs at that joke.
00:56:16.000 I mean that- like really.
00:56:18.000 I'll vote for pretty much- and evangelical Christians feel the same.
00:56:21.000 See what the left wants to do is say you have no moral standards if you vote for President Trump because President Trump is a bad man who's done bad things.
00:56:27.000 Okay, well then what does it make you to vote for people who want abortion on demand all the way up to point of birth and who refuse to even acknowledge the humanity of a baby five seconds before it comes through a mother's vaginal canal?
00:56:39.000 Like, you're gonna have to explain that one to me.
00:56:41.000 Which is more moral?
00:56:42.000 Voting for a president who has allegedly sexually harassed women or voting for somebody who has pledged to make abortion on demand not only legal across the country but celebrated in our culture?
00:56:53.000 Which seems worse in terms of politics?
00:56:56.000 I'm not talking about who you'd rather have babysit your kid.
00:56:58.000 I'm not talking about who you'd rather go to dinner with.
00:57:01.000 I'm talking about the fundamental principles at stake when you talk about partisan politics.
00:57:07.000 In an environment like this, an environment this polarized, this is why, unless the Democrats were willing to push forward an impeachment, That was actually supportable by facts.
00:57:15.000 Unless they're willing to push forward an impeachment that was so overwhelming in its criminal standards of proof, this was going nowhere from the outset.
00:57:23.000 Because if you think that anyone is going to go along with the Michelle Wolf wing simply because President Trump doesn't know how to talk on phone calls and says dumb crap a lot, you are thinking about this thing all wrong.
00:57:36.000 You're thinking about it all wrong.
00:57:40.000 I said in 2016 that the election was not a binary choice, that you could choose to abstain.
00:57:46.000 And what I meant by that was that you could say, neither of these candidates meets my preferences, that you could back out of the fight.
00:57:53.000 And you could basically say, listen, I don't know which timeline is going to take precedence here, but it's important that we at least signal that we don't like any of the candidates that are on the table, because if you never say no, then you're never going to get to a candidate where you say yes.
00:58:05.000 But now we live in a new reality.
00:58:07.000 The new reality was created by the 2016 election in part, but 2016 was also a recognition of an underlying reality that a lot of people in politics just didn't want to accept.
00:58:17.000 That our politics are fundamentally broken and that there are two separate visions of the country that are increasingly divergent.
00:58:23.000 And if the question is, vote Bernie Sanders or vote Elizabeth Warren, who has pledged to wear a Planned Parenthood scarf to her inauguration, or vote for President Trump, That decision is increasingly easy, and Democrats have made it increasingly easy.
00:58:42.000 The death of comedy, by the way, is another adjunct to this.
00:58:45.000 According to the critics, Michelle Wolf is incredibly funny, but Louis C.K., in the aftermath of the allegations against him, is no longer funny.
00:58:52.000 These are the same people who suggest that Hannah Gadsby is a true comedian because she's destroyed the meaning of comedy.
00:58:57.000 Is there anything that the left isn't destroying at this point?
00:59:00.000 That's not to say that the right is scot-free when it comes to the destruction of American standards.
00:59:05.000 It isn't.
00:59:06.000 But I don't see a lot of people on the right saying that it felt good to play God while they were aborting a baby.
00:59:12.000 That's hideous stuff.
00:59:14.000 All right.
00:59:15.000 We'll be back here later today with two additional hours of content.
00:59:17.000 Otherwise, we'll see you here tomorrow.

00:59:51.000 Hey everybody, it's Andrew Klavan, host of The Andrew Klavan Show.
00:59:54.000 You know, some people are depressed because the American Republic is collapsing, the end of days is approaching, and the moon has turned to blood.
01:00:01.000 But on The Andrew Klavan Show, that's where the fun just gets started.
