00:00:00.000 Pete Buttigieg finds himself under attack as the wine cave candidate.
00:00:04.000 Joe Biden demonstrates durability.
00:00:06.000 And Amy Klobuchar throws all of the binders.
00:00:08.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:00:09.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.
00:00:10.000 The Ben Shapiro Show is sponsored by ExpressVPN.

00:00:23.000 So, last night, big Democrat debate, and the first 45 minutes of the debate, nothing happened.
00:00:29.000 The first 45 minutes of the debate, everybody sort of patted each other on the back, they had this group hug, and then things got a little spicy.
00:00:35.000 So, here is the very, very short summary of how this thing went.
00:00:39.000 Not a great night for Pete Buttigieg.
00:00:41.000 Yeah, he had his moments, but not a great, probably the worst night for Pete Buttigieg he's had so far.
00:00:45.000 Really bad night for Elizabeth Warren.
00:00:47.000 So some people are giving Warren more credit than she deserves here.
00:00:49.000 Warren had a bad night.
00:00:50.000 Bernie Sanders is always Bernie Sanders.
00:00:52.000 Joe Biden is always Joe Biden.
00:00:54.000 And Amy Klobuchar forced everybody else to eat salad with a comb.
00:00:57.000 So it was actually a pretty good night for Amy Klobuchar.
00:01:00.000 So let's just jump right in to this debate, because the big winner, as always, whenever we have a Democratic internal debate, is President Trump.
00:01:07.000 There's a swing state poll out today that shows that in the swing states, Biden is tied with Trump, that he leads, Trump does, every other Democratic candidate who was on that stage last night.
00:01:17.000 There's a reason for this, and that is that Democrats continue to give President Trump campaign commercials.
00:01:21.000 We haven't even seen Trump weaponize all of the content that Democrats have given him in the past Several months.
00:01:27.000 And there's a lot of it.
00:01:28.000 I mean, a lot of it.
00:01:30.000 So this whole thing starts off, this whole debate starts off, and again, they were down to only seven candidates who were on the stage.
00:01:35.000 Tom Steyer is not a real candidate.
00:01:36.000 And Andrew Yang was provided his typical two minutes and 30 seconds to talk and say that he's going to give everybody $1,000 and all of this.
00:01:44.000 But there are really five candidates on the stage, five serious candidates for the presidency.
00:01:48.000 Amy Klobuchar is only considered a serious candidate, one, because she's a senator, and two, because she's running at about 7% in Iowa.
00:01:55.000 So you could see the possibility of a late surge by Amy Klobuchar if, for example, she starts to draw away support from Pete Buttigieg, which is exactly why she went after Buttigieg last night.
00:02:04.000 Buttigieg was by far the most attacked candidate on the stage.
00:02:07.000 Joe Biden sort of stood off to the side, so did Bernie Sanders, and they watched the kids clock each other.
00:02:11.000 And by kids, I mean a 70-year-old senator from Massachusetts And a 37-year-old newbie from South Bend, Indiana, and Amy Klobuchar, who, let's be honest, you wouldn't want to meet Amy Klobuchar in a dark alley, considering all of the stories that have been written about her and her apparently sadistic tendencies.
00:02:28.000 In any case, this thing starts with everybody talking about impeachment, because impeachment is the order of the day.
00:02:33.000 And don't worry, we'll get to impeachment a little bit later on in the show.
00:02:36.000 Nancy Pelosi, by the way, has a new strategy on impeachment, and that is we're not going to give the charges to the Senate, which is the dumbest strategy of all time.
00:02:43.000 In fact, One of the Democrats' key witnesses in their House Judiciary Committee hearing was a Harvard Law professor.
00:02:51.000 And that Harvard Law professor, that same professor, has now suggested that if you do not actually submit the articles of impeachment to the Senate, then Trump has not been impeached, technically speaking.
00:03:02.000 So Trump can continue to claim he has not been impeached until they actually submit the articles to the Senate.
00:03:07.000 According to Noah Feldman, who is the Harvard Law professor Democrats called during their House Judiciary Committee hearing, so self-owned from Nancy Pelosi right there.
00:03:13.000 In any case, this thing starts and everybody is talking impeachment.
00:03:17.000 And the angles that the various candidates took on impeachment is indicative of their sort of angles in the campaign generally.
00:03:23.000 So Joe Biden's angle on impeachment is that it's his job to restore integrity to the presidency.
00:03:29.000 Here is Joe, slow old Joe, who looked a little bit livelier last night, has gyrotongue, was ready to go.
00:03:35.000 You know, we need to restore the integrity of the presidency, of the office of the presidency.
00:03:41.000 And it's about time we get that underway.
00:03:42.000 My job, and I think the job of all of us up here, is to, in fact, well, that's not true.
00:03:47.000 Some are going to be actually voting in the Senate.
00:03:49.000 But my job is to just go out and make the case why he doesn't deserve to be president of the United States for another four years.
00:03:56.000 Okay, so basically, I'm here, I'm Joe, you know me, right?
00:04:00.000 His case for impeachment is really his case for being president, and that is that he is a tree stump.
00:04:05.000 And wouldn't you like a tree stump as opposed to this wild orange man over here?
00:04:09.000 That's always been Joe Biden's case for the presidency.
00:04:11.000 It's a back-to-normalcy case.
00:04:12.000 Then there was Bernie Sanders' case, and that is that Donald Trump, it's not that he is a wild, crazy person.
00:04:19.000 It's really that he's not a socialist.
00:04:21.000 So here's Bernie Sanders making his pitch for the presidency on the basis of impeachment.
00:04:25.000 I believe, and I will personally be doing this in the coming weeks and months, is making the case that we have a president who has sold out the working families of this country, who wants to cut Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid after he promised he would not do that, and who has documentedly lied thousands of times since he is president.
00:04:54.000 So just wondering, has President Trump restructured Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid?
00:04:58.000 Because I'm pretty sure that I would have noticed if he had.
00:05:00.000 By the way, all of the talk about President Trump and selling out the working class, Jobs have increased under President Trump in every single state in America.
00:05:10.000 According to new polling data from CNN, 76% of Americans say that current economic conditions are good.
00:05:18.000 68% say that they are confident that economic conditions will be good a year from now, which would be after the election.
00:05:23.000 So good luck with the whole the economy sucks case, because that ain't gonna fly.
00:05:26.000 We're gonna get to more of the Democratic debate in just one minute.
00:05:29.000 First, It's that time of the year.
00:05:31.000 You're buying a lot of stuff, right?
00:05:32.000 This is the year when you just blow out those credit card bills.

00:06:34.000 Once more, joinhoney.com slash ben.
00:06:37.000 Okay, back to this debate.
00:06:38.000 So they're talking impeachment, and they are trying to Make the case for why they ought to be president based on impeachment.
00:06:45.000 Elizabeth, so we've already heard from Biden and it's, I'm a tree stump.
00:06:48.000 And Bernie, I'm a communist.
00:06:50.000 And now we hear from Elizabeth Warren that she's an anti-corruption fighter, an anti-corruption fighter.
00:06:54.000 Now, as we will see.
00:06:56.000 She has the worst debate of anybody.
00:06:58.000 I mean, she's a terrible, terrible debate for Elizabeth Warren.
00:06:58.000 Of the night.
00:07:01.000 I know conventional wisdom is that she sort of held steady.
00:07:03.000 She completely collapsed.
00:07:03.000 False.
00:07:05.000 It was really, really bad for her.
00:07:06.000 Because her entire shtick has been that she is fighting corruption.
00:07:10.000 That is her entire deal, is that she is fighting corruption.
00:07:12.000 Here she is making that case we'll see later on in the debate.
00:07:14.000 Pete Buttigieg clocks her one good and she goes flying through the wall.
00:07:17.000 Here's Elizabeth Warren.
00:07:18.000 You know, this president has made corruption originally his argument that he would drain the swamp.
00:07:25.000 And yet he came to Washington, broke that promise, and has done everything he can for the wealthy and the well-connected, from tax breaks to ambassadorships.
00:07:37.000 See, she's an anti-corruption fighter, and this is her schtick.
00:07:40.000 There's only one problem.
00:07:41.000 It's not true.
00:07:42.000 It's not true.
00:07:43.000 Every rule that she has set for herself as a candidate, she has already broken as a candidate in prior election cycles, and this is something Buttigieg is going to bring up.
00:07:50.000 Okay, now, to Pete Buttigieg.
00:07:52.000 He's been surging in Iowa.
00:07:53.000 He's been surging in New Hampshire.
00:07:54.000 He never had great national numbers, but that early state momentum has been very solid for Pete Buttigieg, and so his pitch has basically been, I'm Obama, but instead of being the first black president, I'd be the first gay president.
00:08:05.000 Sure, I don't have any real qualifications to be the president of the United States.
00:08:09.000 Sure, I've been like the mayor of a town with 8,000 votes.
00:08:12.000 Remember, he won his election in South Bend, Indiana with 8,000 votes.
00:08:14.000 This will come up later on in the debate as well.
00:08:18.000 8,000 votes is fewer votes than I get in a typical Twitter poll.
00:08:21.000 When I just put a poll on Twitter, I will get many more than 8,000 votes.
00:08:26.000 It's amazing this person is considered a national candidate based on his record.
00:08:30.000 He's very good at this.
00:08:31.000 He's a talented politician.
00:08:32.000 Here he is channeling Obama.
00:08:33.000 Hope!
00:08:34.000 Hope and change!
00:08:35.000 Hope and change!
00:08:36.000 Here's the good news.
00:08:38.000 It's up to us.
00:08:39.000 No matter what happens in the Senate, it is up to us in 2020.
00:08:44.000 This is our chance to refuse to be taken in by the helplessness, to refuse and reject the cynicism.
00:08:53.000 Okay, so again, channeling the Obama optimism.
00:08:55.000 As it turns out, Pete Buttigieg, you can only fly above the fray for so long.
00:08:59.000 The only good answer on impeachment, by the way, was given by my boy Andrew Yang.
00:09:02.000 He had a moment later on in the debate I didn't like very much, but this was a very good moment for Andrew Yang, being a real human being, saying, listen, you keep talking about Trump, you keep talking about impeachment, the real problems of the country have nothing to do with Trump.
00:09:12.000 The more we act like Donald Trump is the cause of all of our problems, the more Americans lose trust that we can actually see what's going on in our communities and solve those problems.
00:09:23.000 What we have to do is we have to stop being obsessed over impeachment, which unfortunately strikes many Americans like a ballgame where you know what the score is going to be, and start actually digging in and solving the problems that got Donald Trump elected in the first place.
00:09:39.000 Okay, this is an actual smart answer from Andrew Yang.
00:09:42.000 The problem is, of course, Andrew Yang is not one of the top contenders.
00:09:44.000 Okay, then they move on to the economy.
00:09:46.000 And this is a real problem for the Democrats.
00:09:47.000 It's a problem for the Democrats because, as I've said, the poll numbers on the economy are very, very strong for President Trump.
00:09:53.000 So Joe Biden is asked by one of the moderators, so Americans kind of like this economy because the economy is real good.
00:09:58.000 They may not like Trump, but what about people who say they don't love Trump, but they love the economy?
00:10:02.000 And Biden says, well, no, no, I just refuse to accept that people like the economy.
00:10:06.000 Yeah, good luck with this argument.
00:10:07.000 Well, I don't think they really do like the economy.
00:10:09.000 Go back and talk to the old neighbors in the middle-class neighborhood you grew up in.
00:10:12.000 The middle class is getting killed.
00:10:14.000 The middle class is getting crushed.
00:10:17.000 And the working class has no way up as a consequence of that.
00:10:20.000 And the idea that we're growing... Yeah, we don't have to listen to the rest of him spieling about this.
00:10:24.000 We don't have to listen to the rest of him, because he says that, then Buttigieg says that, then Warren says that.
00:10:28.000 It's always, the economy isn't really good.
00:10:31.000 Sure, you feel like the economy is good, but it's because you don't know.
00:10:34.000 In your heart, you know the economy is bad.
00:10:36.000 Record stock market.
00:10:38.000 Record low unemployment in the black community in the Hispanic community among women like everyone But apparently it's very very bad, and then you have Bernie Sanders who does his usual crazy routine He actually said and this is such a lie.
00:10:49.000 He said this in like every debate, and it's always a lie He says today in America.
00:10:52.000 We have the highest rate of childhood poverty of almost any major country on earth of Any major country on earth we have the highest rate of childhood poverty Has he heard of most of the world?
00:11:04.000 Has he heard of like anywhere else other than the United States?
00:11:06.000 Because that is bat bleep lunacy.
00:11:08.000 That is just untrue.
00:11:09.000 Okay, so the Democrats are completely disconnected on economics.
00:11:12.000 How do you know they're completely disconnected on economics?
00:11:15.000 Because you end up with Elizabeth Warren saying things like this.
00:11:20.000 So Judy Woodruff asks Elizabeth Warren, how do you answer top economists that say that these taxes are not going to be good?
00:11:26.000 Listen to Elizabeth Warren's crazy answer.
00:11:28.000 How do you answer top economists who say taxes of this magnitude would stifle growth and investment?
00:11:35.000 Oh, they're just wrong!
00:11:39.000 Oh, well, if non-economist Elizabeth Warren says that huge, enormous taxes won't hurt the economy, I totally believe her.
00:11:46.000 I totally believe her.
00:11:47.000 We're just going to completely rewrite basic econ 101 because Elizabeth Warren says, oh, they're just wrong.
00:11:53.000 They're just wrong.
00:11:54.000 You know, like taking trillions of dollars out of the U.S.
00:11:56.000 economy and pouring it down the rat hole that his government is not going to hurt the economy in any way because she says that that's wrong, that it's not true.
00:12:06.000 Again, I don't think that most Americans believe this.
00:12:08.000 And this is why Buttigieg... So basically, the story of Buttigieg's night is that he kept owning Elizabeth Warren over and over.
00:12:15.000 He just kept destroying Elizabeth Warren over and over.
00:12:17.000 And then Amy Klobuchar would come in from the wings, like Macho Man Randy Savage, and just pile-drive him.
00:12:22.000 It was very amusing.
00:12:23.000 Here was Pete Buttigieg, though, owning Elizabeth Warren on taxes.
00:12:26.000 Yes, we must deliver big ideas.
00:12:29.000 And yes, taxes on wealthy individuals and on corporations are going to have to go up.
00:12:35.000 We can also be smart about the promises we're making.
00:12:38.000 Make sure they're promises that we can keep without the kind of taxation that economists tell us could hurt the economy.
00:12:45.000 On issue after issue, we've got to break out of the Washington mindset that measures the bigness of an idea by how many trillions of dollars it adds to the budget, or the boldness of an idea by how many fellow Americans it can antagonize.
00:12:58.000 Okay, that is true.
00:12:59.000 It's why Buttigieg is seeing an upswell.
00:13:01.000 Okay, that one sentence where he says we've got to break out of the Washington mindset that measures the bigness of an idea by how many trillions of dollars it adds to the budget?
00:13:08.000 That could come from a Republican debate.
00:13:10.000 I mean, that could come from any Republican on any stage, anywhere.
00:13:14.000 And he's the only person who will say that, remaining in the Democratic debate.
00:13:17.000 And that is why he at least has some level of popularity.
00:13:20.000 Pete Buttigieg, as we will see, he also, while clocking Elizabeth Warren, got absolutely destroyed, I mean, just wrecked by Amy Klobuchar.
00:13:27.000 We'll get to that in just one moment.
00:13:29.000 First, let's talk about that end of the year to-do list.
00:13:31.000 So we are approaching the end of the year.

00:14:48.000 Okay, so then the Democrats get into their wildest proposals.
00:14:51.000 Their wildest proposals always come in the area of climate change.
00:14:54.000 Joe Biden cuts an ad for Donald Trump in this debate that will be replayed 1,000 times if Joe Biden is the nominee.
00:15:02.000 Tim Alberta, who's one of the moderators, who apparently ran into Flack from PBS, Because he works at Politico now, but he once used to write for National Review, and this is very, very bad.
00:15:12.000 Now, there are a bunch of top-line reporters who used to write for National Review.
00:15:15.000 Like Eliana Johnson was a top-line reporter for, I believe, the Washington Post.
00:15:19.000 Very nice gal.
00:15:20.000 She used to work for National Review.
00:15:21.000 Tim Alberta used to work for National Review.
00:15:23.000 Apparently, this is very bad.
00:15:24.000 He's the only person asking intelligent questions on the stage.
00:15:27.000 He says to Joe Biden, so how many jobs are you willing to sacrifice on the altar of climate change here?
00:15:32.000 And Joe Biden is like, all of them.
00:15:34.000 As president, would you be willing to sacrifice some of that growth, even knowing potentially that it could displace thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of blue-collar workers in the interest of transitioning to that greener economy?
00:15:47.000 The answer is yes.
00:15:48.000 The answer is yes, because the opportunity for those workers to transition to high-paying jobs, as Tom said, is real.
00:15:56.000 We're the only country in the world that's ever taken great, great crises and turned them into enormous opportunities.
00:16:03.000 Nothing says enormous opportunity like laying off hundreds of thousands of blue-collar workers.
00:16:07.000 I mean, that is one hell of a... You think that won't be in every commercial?
00:16:12.000 That he will displace hundreds of thousands of blue-collar workers?
00:16:16.000 The answer is yes.
00:16:18.000 Yee-yee-yee, Joe Biden.
00:16:19.000 Not a great general election move.
00:16:20.000 Now, it may help him in the primaries, but in that general, that is going to come back to harm him.
00:16:24.000 Then, of course, you get Bernie Sanders just being a crazy person, because this is... The fact that Bernie Sanders is even a remotely leading candidate in the Democratic Party, It really says a lot about the current state of the Democratic Party.
00:16:35.000 They have lost their minds.
00:16:37.000 Here's Bernie Sanders explaining that we should take our entire defense budget and we should spend it on fighting the sun.
00:16:43.000 Here's Bernie Sanders.
00:16:44.000 The United States has got to lead the world.
00:16:48.000 And maybe, just maybe, instead of spending 1.8 trillion a year globally on weapons of destruction, maybe an American president, i.e.
00:16:58.000 Bernie Sanders, can lead the world Instead of spending money to kill each other, maybe we pool our resources and fight our common enemy, which is climate change.
00:17:11.000 We're going to get the Chinese to stop spending money on their weaponry and instead spend money on climate change.
00:17:16.000 We're going to get the Russians to abandon all of their military spending and instead we're going to spend it on climate change.
00:17:22.000 How are we going to do that?
00:17:23.000 You're going to elect me.
00:17:24.000 I'm crazy.
00:17:25.000 So crazy.
00:17:26.000 I'm just gonna walk in to Xi Jinping and I'm gonna say, you want a piece of this?
00:17:30.000 I'm a crazy man.
00:17:31.000 Have you seen these hands?
00:17:32.000 I'm nuts.
00:17:34.000 These hands are deadly weapons.
00:17:36.000 Look at them.
00:17:37.000 They move without my own permission.
00:17:39.000 Do you want to be on the wrong side of these hands?
00:17:42.000 Okay, Bernie.
00:17:43.000 Okay.
00:17:45.000 One of my favorite climate change responses is from Elizabeth Warren.
00:17:48.000 So she openly acknowledges that if you want to lower carbon emissions, you have to use nuclear power.
00:17:53.000 And then she immediately announces that she will never build a new nuclear power plant.
00:17:56.000 So she's utterly unserious about this, obviously.
00:17:59.000 But that is Elizabeth Warren in a nutshell.
00:18:01.000 Her dishonesty is rank.
00:18:03.000 As we will see, it comes back to bite her.
00:18:04.000 I know I'm previewing that a lot, but it really came back to bite her last night.
00:18:07.000 Here's Elizabeth Warren explaining, sure, we need nuclear power, but I'm not building any of it.
00:18:11.000 So I see right now is we've got to get the carbon.
00:18:14.000 We've got to stop putting more carbon into the air.
00:18:16.000 We've got to get the carbon out of the air and out of the water.
00:18:19.000 And that means that we need to keep some of our nuclear in place.
00:18:23.000 I will not build more nuclear.
00:18:26.000 Oh, so you need nuclear because you need less carbon emissions, but also we're not going to build any more nuclear power plants.
00:18:33.000 Very serious person, Elizabeth Warren.
00:18:34.000 With many proposals and plans, I have been informed by reliable people.
00:18:39.000 Okay, Joe Biden did have a couple of good moments.
00:18:41.000 I thought that this was Biden's best debate by a fairly long shot.
00:18:45.000 This was his best moment.
00:18:46.000 So he was talking about, somebody asked him whether he was naive to believe that he could work across the aisle.
00:18:51.000 Because Elizabeth Warren has said this.
00:18:53.000 She said that he's just naive to believe he can work with Republicans.
00:18:56.000 And here was Joe Biden's answer.
00:18:57.000 This is actually quite a good answer.
00:18:59.000 I refuse to accept the notion, as some on this stage do, that we can never, never get to a place where we have cooperation again.
00:19:07.000 If that's the case, we're dead as a country.
00:19:09.000 We need to be able to reach a consensus.
00:19:11.000 And if anyone has reason to be angry with the Republicans and not want to cooperate, it's me.
00:19:16.000 The way they've attacked me, my son, and my family.
00:19:19.000 I have no, no, no love.
00:19:22.000 But the fact is, we have to.
00:19:24.000 We have to be able to get things done.
00:19:26.000 And when we can't convince them, we go out and beat them like we did in the 2018 election in red states and in purple states.
00:19:36.000 That was Biden's best answer because the other Democrats are on stage going, we're going to run Russia over these people.
00:19:41.000 We're going to line them up against the wall.
00:19:42.000 And then Biden's like, no, we got to work with them.
00:19:44.000 And listen, I don't love them, but we got to work with them.
00:19:46.000 This is actually Biden's best appeal.
00:19:47.000 And many of the Democrats don't actually understand this appeal.
00:19:50.000 The only candidates on stage making this appeal are three.
00:19:52.000 Biden, Buttigieg, Klobuchar.
00:19:54.000 Those are the only ones on stage who are making that appeal.
00:19:56.000 And it's actually a fairly smart appeal.
00:19:58.000 And then we get into the race section of the debate.
00:20:00.000 And here's where all the intersectional glory of the Democrats comes out.
00:20:03.000 Now, listen, you know I love my boy Andrew Yang.
00:20:06.000 You know, Andrew, I think Andrew Yang is a good guy.
00:20:08.000 I think he's a solid dude.
00:20:09.000 I disagree with him on a lot of politics.
00:20:11.000 But I think that he's an honest fellow.
00:20:12.000 I thought that this answer last night from Andrew Yang was his first dishonest answer in the entire election cycle.
00:20:17.000 So Andrew Yang is asked about the fact that he is the only person of minority status on the stage.
00:20:23.000 I mean, Buttigieg is gay, but the only person of color on the stage is what Yang is asked.
00:20:28.000 And here is Yang's answer.
00:20:30.000 And I thought, again, the fact that this is sort of the requisite pandering on the Democratic stage says a lot about their view of America.
00:20:36.000 Here is Andrew Yang explaining that he feels bad that he's the only minority on the stage.
00:20:40.000 By the way, just a quick note, for the intersectional activists, Asians don't count as part of the intersectional coalition.
00:20:45.000 They're too successful and too highly educated.
00:20:47.000 Which is why they don't care that Asian students are being barred from Harvard University at a disproportionate level in order to make room for other quote-unquote less fortunate minorities.
00:20:56.000 Here's Andrew Yang.
00:20:57.000 It's both an honor and disappointment to be the lone candidate of color on the stage tonight.
00:21:02.000 I miss Kamala, I miss Cory, though I think Cory will be back.
00:21:05.000 Okay, that's just not true.
00:21:07.000 Um, I'm sorry.
00:21:08.000 Andrew Yang is not sitting around at night going, I miss my friends.
00:21:12.000 It's not like empty tables at the end of Les Mis.
00:21:14.000 He's not sitting around and being like, oh, where, where, Kamala, where are you?
00:21:19.000 Why?
00:21:20.000 He's not sitting around going, Cory Booker, I need, where's Mr. Potato Head and his angry eyes?
00:21:25.000 I need them on the stage taking up time.
00:21:27.000 I need them here.
00:21:28.000 Where are they?
00:21:29.000 He's not disappointed.
00:21:30.000 He doesn't care, okay?
00:21:31.000 No one cares.
00:21:32.000 They're bad candidates.
00:21:33.000 That's the reason they're not on the stage.
00:21:34.000 Again, I'm amused and bemused by the fact that the Democratic Party seems to have forgotten that Barack Obama was president for eight years.
00:21:42.000 Do they have to keep proving their bona fides every single election cycle?
00:21:46.000 Well, you know, if we don't have enough minorities on this stage, clearly we've reverted to Jim Crow-style racism.
00:21:51.000 Alternatively, Cory Booker is an awful candidate, and Kamala Harris is even worse.
00:21:55.000 But the fact that they have to keep pandering is just ridiculous.
00:21:58.000 Ridiculous.
00:21:59.000 And pandering didn't stop there.
00:22:00.000 You had Bernie Sanders doing the same routine, saying that if there aren't any of our African-American brothers and sisters up here to speak about an economy in which black people are exploited, And then you had Amy Klobuchar suggesting that she's going to stop gerrymandering and black people are being barred from voting.
00:22:19.000 OK, all of that was nonsense, but that's the requisite part of the Democratic debate.
00:22:23.000 In just a second, we're going to get to the Democrats on foreign policy.
00:22:25.000 Back to the delusional for the Democrats in just one second.
00:22:28.000 First, let's talk about the fact that it's no fun to go to the drugstore and look for all of the materials you need for the bathroom.
00:22:35.000 I tend to be very lazy when I'm not doing this show.
00:22:39.000 And what that means is that I never go to the drugstore and pick up the materials that I need.
00:22:43.000 The first time I realize that I don't have a razor and that I need one is exactly when I need to use it.
00:22:48.000 Okay, well, the way that I have solved this problem is I use Dollar Shave Club because they just ship it to me.
00:22:52.000 I never have to think about it ever again.
00:22:53.000 And their products are better than the stuff that I'm getting at the store.
00:22:55.000 And I don't have to spend an hour sifting through all the various products trying to find the best product that best fits my... Dollar Shave Club has it all.
00:23:03.000 Dollar Shave Club has spent years developing, crafting, and refining everything.
00:23:06.000 They have everything I use to look, feel, and smell my best.
00:23:09.000 I've been a Dollar Shave Club member for years.

00:23:30.000 You get what you want whenever you need it, whether that's once a month or a few times a year.
00:23:34.000 Again, I love being able to sort of program this in and then just forget about it.
00:23:37.000 It makes my life incredibly easy and it means that I am never out of the products that I need.
00:23:40.000 Right now, you can put the quality of Dollar Shave Club's products to the test.

00:24:11.000 Okay, back to the Democratic debate.
00:24:13.000 So, then the Democrats get into the foreign policy arena.
00:24:17.000 And they start off with Israel.
00:24:19.000 Bernie Sanders is so awful on Israel, it is almost impossible to overestimate how bad he is on Israel, because he will always surpass your expectations.
00:24:29.000 So Bernie Sanders is asked about Israel, and he plays the I'm super pro Israel card.
00:24:32.000 Yes, his entire campaign is staffed by people who hate Israel.
00:24:35.000 He campaigns with Linda Sarsour.
00:24:36.000 He's been endorsed by open anti-Semites, Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib.
00:24:39.000 But don't worry, guys, he loves Israel.
00:24:41.000 Listen to this statement he makes about Israel.
00:24:43.000 Apparently, Israel exists where there's no such thing as terrorism.
00:24:46.000 Palestinian terrorist groups do not run the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
00:24:50.000 And everything is hunky-dory.
00:24:51.000 It's just those weird Jews, right?
00:24:53.000 It's just those weird Israelis and their weird weirdness.
00:24:56.000 Here's Bernie Sanders saying the real problem in the Middle East is Bibi Netanyahu.
00:25:00.000 He may have neglected, you know, the intervening...
00:25:03.000 60 years of Israeli existence where its neighbors attempted to destroy it before Benjamin Netanyahu became Prime Minister.
00:25:09.000 He may be neglecting the fact that even Benjamin Netanyahu's political opponents actually agree with him on foreign policy.
00:25:14.000 But it's very convenient for Bernie to blame everything on Israel because he is of course a far leftist who actually does not like Israel.
00:25:19.000 He actually despises Israel.
00:25:21.000 Israel has, and I say this as somebody who lived in Israel as a kid, proudly Jewish, Israel has the right not only to exist, but to exist in peace and security.
00:25:36.000 But what U.S.
00:25:37.000 foreign policy must be about is not just being pro-Israel, we must be pro-Palestinian as well.
00:25:49.000 And whether, in my view, we must understand that right now in Israel we have leadership under Netanyahu, who has recently, as you know, been indicted for bribery, who in my view is a racist.
00:26:06.000 What we need is a level playing field in terms of the Middle East, Which addresses the terrible crisis in Gaza, where 60 or 70% of the young people are unemployed.
00:26:21.000 Yeah, that might be because a terrorist group runs the Gaza Strip, but his solution is that we should be dumping hundreds of millions of dollars into the Gaza Strip so those terrorist groups can continue to conduct terror.
00:26:29.000 By the way, the convenient Judaism of Bernie Sanders is something to behold.
00:26:32.000 The man has nothing to say about Jewish identity for nearly his entire 80 years on planet Earth, but the moment it is convenient for him to cite his Jewish identity in order to bash the Jewish state, then he's all up in it, right?
00:26:42.000 He is a perfect case of somebody who's only Jewish when convenient.
00:26:47.000 He can stuff it with this whole, I'm Jewish, therefore I have capacity to speak on this.
00:26:50.000 Nonsense.
00:26:51.000 Nonsense.
00:26:52.000 If the only reason that you're citing your Jewishness is so you can pretend to be a minority, or so that you can claim that Israel's very, very bad.
00:26:57.000 You're going to have to name for me another time when Bernie Sanders has ever talked about Judaism in a serious way.
00:27:04.000 Yeah, sure.
00:27:06.000 And then you have Pete Buttigieg who sort of glossed over the question, and he ripped on Trump and suggested that Trump is actually an anti-Semite because he welcomes quote-unquote white nationalists into the White House.
00:27:15.000 Yeah, that was just silly.
00:27:17.000 And then you had Joe Biden.
00:27:18.000 Biden at least is living in something resembling the real world.
00:27:22.000 Like, he's wrong on Israel, but at least he recognizes you have to keep giving them physical aid so they can maintain their security.
00:27:27.000 But it really is when you get to China, That it becomes obvious that the Democrats don't know what they are talking about.
00:27:34.000 The only person who had a good answer on China is Andrew Yang.
00:27:37.000 Andrew Yang actually understands a lot of the challenges that America is facing with regard to China.
00:27:42.000 His take on China and their technological war on the United States is exactly right.
00:27:46.000 Here's Andrew Yang.
00:27:47.000 I have sat with our leading technologists and they say they cannot match the Chinese resources.
00:27:52.000 China just produced its first major smartphone that does not have Google Apps and it is now trying to export its technology to the rest of the world.
00:27:59.000 What we have to do is build an international coalition to set technology standards and then you can bring the Chinese to the table in a very real way because this is their top priority and this is where we need to out-compete them and win.
00:28:12.000 Okay, so Yang is right about this.
00:28:14.000 He's the only person who had anything credible to say about this.
00:28:15.000 The rest of them were like, I'll be mean to China.
00:28:19.000 Sure, okay.
00:28:20.000 Yeah, right.
00:28:21.000 Okay, so most of the debate so far has basically been everybody hugging each other, right?
00:28:25.000 It was more of a town hall than a debate.
00:28:27.000 But then came what we've all been waiting for, the Rock'em Sock'em Robots.
00:28:31.000 The Rock'em Sock'em Robots.
00:28:32.000 So we started getting questions about age and about qualification, and it got kind of fun.
00:28:37.000 So this began with Tim Alberta asking Vice President Biden about his age.
00:28:41.000 He says, let's face it, dude, you're old.
00:28:44.000 Like, you're supes old.
00:28:45.000 Really old.
00:28:46.000 And Joe Biden proceeds to act kind of old.
00:28:49.000 Just to follow up, Vice President Biden, if elected, if elected, you would turn 82 at the end of your first term.
00:28:55.000 You'd be the oldest president in American history.
00:28:58.000 Are you willing... President Churchill.
00:28:59.000 Are you willing to commit... American history.
00:29:01.000 Oh, American history.
00:29:02.000 Yes.
00:29:02.000 Are you willing to commit tonight to running for a second term if you're elected next November?
00:29:09.000 No, I'm not willing to commit one way or another.
00:29:11.000 Here's the deal.
00:29:11.000 I'm not even elected one term yet, and let's see where we are.
00:29:15.000 Let's see what happens.
00:29:17.000 Okay, and everybody laughs at this because everybody recognizes that dude is real old.
00:29:22.000 So, not a horrible moment for Biden, but it is kind of funny that he's trying to prove that he's not old and then he cites British history as opposed to American history.
00:29:30.000 Okay, then we get to more, so let's get to the dicey exchanges.
00:29:35.000 Let's get to the dicey exchanges.
00:29:36.000 So, I've been pitching this one all day.
00:29:38.000 The moment when it became clear to everyone that Elizabeth Warren is the worst.
00:29:42.000 The worst.
00:29:43.000 So Elizabeth Warren and Pete Buttigieg go at it.
00:29:46.000 She starts off by attacking Pete Buttigieg for using bundlers and for fundraising from billionaires.
00:29:52.000 And Pete Buttigieg is ready for this attack because Elizabeth Warren has been trotting this out on the campaign trail for weeks now.
00:29:59.000 And Buttigieg is a person who does his homework, right?
00:30:01.000 Buttigieg for all of his flaws as a candidate and all of his I would say nastiness as a religious person and all of this kind of stuff.
00:30:10.000 For all of that, Pete Buttigieg is a man who does his homework.
00:30:14.000 And so Elizabeth Warren comes after him and suggests that he is in the pocket of big donors.
00:30:19.000 And Pete Buttigieg just knocks her through a wall.
00:30:21.000 And it is phenomenal because she has had this coming for a long time politically.
00:30:25.000 She has had this coming because she has been doing the, I'm on my high horse over here fighting corruption.
00:30:31.000 And this is a lady who has violated every rule.
00:30:34.000 Every rule that she currently says that she holds to, she has violated in the past.
00:30:38.000 And Buttigieg calls her out on it, and it is quite ugly for her.
00:30:40.000 Now, it's not scot-free for Buttigieg, because she does get one line on him, and that line was the most quoted line of the debate.
00:30:48.000 You're gonna hear the phrase wine cave here.
00:30:50.000 The reason that it's the most quoted is because, of course, most of us have never heard of a wine cave.
00:30:53.000 What the hell's a wine cave?
00:30:54.000 Is it like a place that back in caveman days they used to go and just like guzzle grapes?
00:30:59.000 Apparently it's something that very, very wealthy people have.
00:31:02.000 I'm not a wine drinker, so I don't know much about it.
00:31:04.000 In any case, here is Warren and Buttigieg going at each other.
00:31:08.000 Warren gets the most memorable line, but Buttigieg just finishes her on the stage.
00:31:12.000 We can't have people who can put down $5,000 for a check drown out the voices of everyone else.
00:31:20.000 The way we're going to win is to bring everybody to our side in this fight.
00:31:25.000 If that means that you're a grad student digging deep to go online to PeteForAmerica.com and chip in $10, that's great.
00:31:33.000 And if you can drop $1,000 without blinking, that's great too.
00:31:37.000 We need everybody's help in this fight.
00:31:40.000 So, the mayor just recently had a fundraiser that was held in a wine cave full of crystals and served $900 a bottle of wine.
00:31:53.000 Think about who comes to that.
00:31:55.000 He had promised that every fundraiser he would do would be open door, but this one was closed door.
00:32:02.000 We made the decision many years ago That rich people in smoke-filled rooms would not pick the next president of the United States.
00:32:12.000 Billionaires in wine caves should not pick the next president of the United States.
00:32:18.000 Mr. Mayor, your response?
00:32:20.000 You know, according to Forrest Magazine, I am literally the only person on this stage who's not a millionaire or a billionaire.
00:32:29.000 So if... This is important.
00:32:32.000 This is the problem with issuing purity tests you cannot yourself pass.
00:32:36.000 If I pledge...
00:32:41.000 If I pledged never to be in the company of a progressive, democratic donor, I couldn't be up here.
00:32:48.000 Senator, your net worth is 100 times mine.
00:32:50.000 I do not sell access to my time.
00:32:54.000 I don't do call time with millionaires and billionaires.
00:33:00.000 I don't meet behind closed doors.
00:33:03.000 With big dollar donors?
00:33:05.000 Senator, your presidential campaign right now, as we speak, is funded in part by money you transferred, having raised it at those exact same big ticket fundraisers you now denounce.
00:33:17.000 Did it corrupt you, Senator?
00:33:18.000 Of course not!
00:33:20.000 So to denounce the same kind of fundraising guidelines that President Obama went by, that Speaker Pelosi goes by, that you yourself went by until not long ago in order to build the Democratic Party and build a campaign ready for the fight of our lives.
00:33:35.000 These purity tests shrink the stakes of the most important election.
00:33:40.000 Okay, so that is Elizabeth Warren going up against the king, and you best not miss, and she missed.
00:33:46.000 It was not a good look.
00:33:47.000 Now, the wine case thing will stick, so it's not a complete miss.
00:33:49.000 To be fair to Warren, it's not a complete miss.
00:33:51.000 But it doesn't help her, because he clocked her there.
00:33:54.000 For him to point out that she has taken billionaire money, and then she took that money, and then she immediately funneled it into her presidential campaign, all the leftovers from her Senate campaign, that is 100% true.
00:34:03.000 It is 100% true.
00:34:05.000 And the former governor of Pennsylvania, Ed Rendell, wrote an entire piece about this.
00:34:09.000 Criticizing her for setting these sorts of false purity tests.
00:34:12.000 So, frankly, good for Pete Buttigieg for fighting back on that particular score.
00:34:16.000 Now, as we'll see, Buttigieg then ended up getting kicked around.
00:34:20.000 So it didn't end up great for Buttigieg either, but at that moment, in that exchange, Warren got really hurt because she is deeply dishonest.
00:34:26.000 And that is obvious to anyone who's been watching this campaign.
00:34:28.000 And we'll get to more of this in just one second.
00:34:30.000 So, listen.

00:35:39.000 Okay, in just a second, we'll get to Pete Buttigieg getting slapped.
00:35:42.000 So he slaps Elizabeth Warren, and then, like, The Battle of the Lilliputians, the slapping between the...
00:35:51.000 Small human beings on stage in terms of their moral and political stature continues.
00:35:55.000 We'll get to that momentarily first.
00:35:56.000 It is that glorious time of the week when I give a shout out to a Daily Wire subscriber.
00:35:59.000 Today, it's Derek Riley on Twitter, who's clearly doing a fantastic job in the most important role of his life in the picture.

00:36:13.000 She will grow up big and strong and brilliant.
00:36:15.000 The caption reads, she's two months today, growing bigger and stronger thanks in part to the leftist here's Tumblr.
00:36:19.000 Even more nourishing than breast milk.
00:36:21.000 Leftist here's amazing.
00:36:22.000 And with the amount of leftist here's on the horizon during this election year, she'll be growing by leaps and bounds.
00:36:27.000 Thanks for the pick, Derek, and congrats to you and your family on this amazing baby.

00:37:03.000 We are the largest, fastest growing conservative podcast and radio show in the nation.
00:37:06.000 So Buttigieg crushes Elizabeth Warren in that exchange by pointing out that she's dishonest.
00:37:16.000 The beneficiary of that is Bernie Sanders.
00:37:19.000 So Bernie Sanders immediately responds, and he sort of knocks Joe Biden, but he really goes after Buttigieg.
00:37:25.000 And the difference between Bernie Sanders and Warren is that Bernie is an actual true believer.
00:37:29.000 Bernie's not BSing this stuff.
00:37:30.000 Like, he's full of it.
00:37:31.000 And he's awful.
00:37:32.000 And he believes terrible things.
00:37:33.000 But Bernie is a true believer.
00:37:35.000 I mean, that is a man who will set himself on fire for his cause.
00:37:38.000 Or at least buy himself a third lake house for his cause.
00:37:40.000 Here's Bernie Sanders explaining that Pete Buttigieg has in fact taken money from billionaires.
00:37:44.000 My good friend, Joe, and he is a good friend.
00:37:47.000 He's received contributions from 44 billionaires.
00:37:51.000 Pete, on the other hand, is trailing, Pete.
00:37:54.000 You only got 39 billionaires contributing.
00:37:58.000 So, Pete, we look forward to you.
00:38:00.000 I know you're an energetic guy and a competitive guy to see if you can take on Joe on that issue.
00:38:07.000 Okay, so that is a brutal hit.
00:38:09.000 By the way, Sanders had a good night because Sanders actually was more upbeat.
00:38:12.000 I think he feels like he's doing well in the polls because he is.
00:38:15.000 And he felt like he was in a good mood the entire night.
00:38:19.000 He dropped a few jokes here and there.
00:38:21.000 It was actually a good night for Sanders.
00:38:22.000 If you're going to talk about the people who won the night, Biden won the night, Sanders won the night, Klobuchar had a good night.
00:38:27.000 Why do I say Klobuchar had a good night?
00:38:28.000 Because she laid the hardest hit on Mayor Pete.
00:38:31.000 I mean, this is a brutal, Brutal hit on Mayor Pete.
00:38:34.000 I'm talking here about clip 33.
00:38:37.000 So Amy Klobuchar is talking about experience and she points out that there are a lot of people on the stage who have some experience and Pete Buttigieg is not one of those humans.
00:38:45.000 Here's Amy Klobuchar.
00:38:47.000 Buttigieg tries to get out of it.
00:38:48.000 He's prepped for the answer.
00:38:49.000 The problem is he was not prepped for the response because goodness gracious.
00:38:52.000 I mean she just from the top rope Amy Klobuchar go!
00:38:58.000 When we were in the last debate, Mayor, you basically mocked the hundred years of experience on the stage.
00:39:06.000 I just think you should respect our experience when you look at how you evaluate someone who can get things done.
00:39:14.000 You actually did denigrate my experience, Senator, and it was before the break and I was going to let it go because we've got bigger fish to fry here.
00:39:21.000 I don't think we have bigger fish to fry than picking a President of the United States.
00:39:26.000 We should have someone heading up this ticket that has actually won and been able to show that they can gather the support that you talk about of moderate Republicans and independents, as well as a fired up Democratic base.
00:39:39.000 And not just done it once, I have done it three times.
00:39:45.000 I gotta respond to that.
00:39:46.000 Senator, I know that if you just go by vote totals, maybe what goes on in my city seems small to you.
00:39:54.000 If you want to talk about the capacity to win, try putting together a coalition to bring you back to office with 80% of the vote as a gay dude in Mike Pence's Indiana.
00:40:05.000 Again, I would... Mayor, if you... If you had won in Indiana, that would be one thing.
00:40:12.000 You tried, and you lost by 20 points.
00:40:14.000 Let's talk about how we... Excuse me.
00:40:20.000 So Buttigieg, when he's cornered, he finally plays the... Mike Pence is a bigot!
00:40:25.000 He's a bigot!
00:40:26.000 This is always Buttigieg's move of desperation.
00:40:28.000 So every candidate has a move of desperation.
00:40:30.000 Every candidate has the go-to-the-well move.
00:40:32.000 For Elizabeth Warren, it's, I'm not corrupt like you!
00:40:35.000 I'm not corrupt like you!
00:40:36.000 And for Bernie Sanders, it's, those billionaires are the worst people!
00:40:39.000 They're just the worst people!
00:40:40.000 And for Joe Biden, it's, malarkey!
00:40:42.000 Malarkey!
00:40:42.000 And for Pete Buttigieg, it's, Mike Pence is the worst.
00:40:45.000 Now, I don't know what it, like, did Mike Pence, like, hide under his bed once with a butcher knife or something?
00:40:51.000 Like, Mike Pence, by all available public records, has been nothing but genteel to Pete Buttigieg.
00:40:56.000 When Buttigieg came out of the closet, Mike Pence was, like, happy for him.
00:40:59.000 Hope he leads a happy life.
00:41:00.000 When Buttigieg joined the military, Mike Pence personally called him up on the telephone to thank him for his service.
00:41:06.000 And yet Pete Buttigieg has set this whole thing up like, Mike Pence, vicious anti-gay bigot, standing outside my house burning crosses?
00:41:14.000 Yeah, Mike Pence.
00:41:16.000 And so, Klobuchar's like, well, you've never won anything, right?
00:41:19.000 You won 8,000 votes in South Bend, Indiana, which again, like, I'm at an event down here in South Florida, there'd be like 5,000 people just at this event.
00:41:27.000 8,000 votes is nothing.
00:41:29.000 It's a rounding error when you talk about national politics.
00:41:32.000 You're talking about a national election that is going to involve, at minimum, 130 million voters.
00:41:37.000 And you're saying that because you once won 8,000 votes in South Bend, Indiana, a historically blue city, that you are somehow qualified to win?
00:41:46.000 And Klobuchar points that out, and Buttigieg goes to that safe and happy place, which is, I'm gay, and Mike Pence hates gay people.
00:41:55.000 And Klobuchar's like, well, if you're going to say that you built a coalition as mayor of South Bend, Indiana, you might want to remember that, like, we're going to ignore this, but you ran for state treasurer in Indiana.
00:42:05.000 So you tried to run statewide in Indiana and you got cleaned like a fish.
00:42:09.000 You got gutted.
00:42:11.000 By the way, he didn't lose by 20 in Indiana, Pete Buttigieg.
00:42:15.000 He didn't lose by 20 in that state treasurer race.
00:42:16.000 He lost by 25.
00:42:18.000 to Richard Murdoch, who went on to sit in Senate and then lose to a Democrat.
00:42:23.000 So it wasn't even like he was losing to the best candidates.
00:42:25.000 It's just that Pete Buttigieg's actual agenda, when looked at by people in the middle of the country, is not anything like what he is campaigning nationally as.
00:42:33.000 And Klobuchar just finishes him right there.
00:42:35.000 I mean, that's a bad look.
00:42:36.000 And Klobuchar, by the way, has a level of support in Iowa.
00:42:38.000 It's not tremendous, but you are going to see a bump for Amy Klobuchar in the aftermath of this debate.
00:42:42.000 She had a good, aggressive debate.
00:42:44.000 Finally, when the stage was cleared off of all the riffraff, and by that I just mean, like, everybody who was getting 2% or less, once the stage was cleared off and you had, you know, people who are actually getting 5% or more in any state poll, Then you could actually see the contrast between the candidates.
00:42:57.000 And you see that Klobuchar actually has the record that Pete Buttigieg pretends that he has.
00:43:01.000 That Amy Klobuchar has the positions that Pete Buttigieg presents that he has.
00:43:05.000 And so I would not be surprised to see Buttigieg start to wane now.
00:43:08.000 I wouldn't be surprised.
00:43:09.000 Like people are saying, I don't know how much the debate is going to matter.
00:43:12.000 It's going to matter some.
00:43:13.000 And I think that the image of Pete Buttigieg as fresh-faced, that only lasts so long as people fail to recognize that Pete Buttigieg has never won an election that is larger than a thimble.
00:43:22.000 He was elected class president in third grade, basically, in terms of national politics.
00:43:26.000 That's not a rip on South Bend.
00:43:27.000 That's a statistical reality.
00:43:30.000 And Klobuchar pointing that out, it's not going to help him.
00:43:33.000 The wine cave thing is not going to help him.
00:43:34.000 It's going to look like he is a grasping person who's attempting to grab as much wealth as he can from a variety of people because he doesn't actually have a base outside of upper-class white establishmentarian types.
00:43:50.000 So while he hurt Warren, and he did, because she is incredibly dishonest, she's already hurting, right?
00:43:54.000 She was already on the downslope.
00:43:55.000 Buttigieg was on the upslope.
00:43:56.000 I think you're going to see that stall out now.
00:43:58.000 I think at the very least you're going to see him even out.
00:44:00.000 I think that you may see him start to decline.
00:44:02.000 And I think you're going to see a little bit of a bump for Amy Klobuchar, specifically because of all of this.
00:44:07.000 Now, the finest moments of the debate in terms of just wild leftism, and this is where President Trump makes his money, right?
00:44:12.000 President Trump makes his hay where the Democrats' radicalism lives.
00:44:16.000 The best part is when you get to transgender politics.
00:44:18.000 So again, the panda bear just is the imaginary spirit animal of every Democrat.
00:44:23.000 And so you ended up with the bizarre spectacle of Bernie Sanders explaining that he is going to wipe out discrimination against transgender communities apparently by waving his hands wildly and yelling.
00:44:35.000 We need a president Who will do everything humanly possible to end all forms of discrimination against the transgender community, against the African-American community, against the Latino community, and against all minorities in this country.
00:44:56.000 I like how he adds that little blanket statement on the end.
00:44:58.000 All minorities- because he started running out of- he's afraid he's gonna miss somebody.
00:45:01.000 It's like an Oscar speech where you miss your agent.
00:45:03.000 I have to name every minority I can think of right now.
00:45:06.000 So, gay people?
00:45:07.000 Transgender people, bisexual little people, African-Americans, Latinos, Native Americans, not Jews, they're not intersectional, not Asians, they're not intersectional, and the other minority that I missed, all of them, like all the minorities.
00:45:22.000 But Sanders pales in comparison to Elizabeth Warren.
00:45:25.000 Again, so dishonest, so awful.
00:45:28.000 Here's Elizabeth Warren.
00:45:30.000 I mean, you wanna, she is, there's diehard and then there's panderhard.
00:45:34.000 I mean, this is pander hard with a vengeance.
00:45:37.000 Here is Elizabeth Warren explaining what she's going to do for the transgender community.
00:45:41.000 And this is just, I mean, she, you know what she is?
00:45:46.000 There was talk about President Trump back in 2016 that he spoke conservatism as a foreign language, that he sort of approximated where he thought conservatives were.
00:45:52.000 And that's why he ended up saying things like, we want to put women who have abortions in jail.
00:45:57.000 And everybody who's pro-life was like, what?
00:45:59.000 Not so much.
00:46:00.000 It's because Trump was sort of estimating where he thought the constituents were.
00:46:03.000 Elizabeth Warren treats the base of the Democratic Party like they're idiots.
00:46:07.000 She treats them like they're idiots.
00:46:09.000 And so listen to her pandering to transgender Americans.
00:46:13.000 The way that she does this is so overt and blatant and stupid, it boggles the mind.
00:46:18.000 Here's Elizabeth Warren.
00:46:19.000 Here's a promise I make.
00:46:21.000 I will go to the Rose Garden once every year to read the names of transgender women, of people of color who have been killed in the past year.
00:46:32.000 I will make sure that we read their names so that as a nation We are forced to address the particular vulnerability on homelessness.
00:46:41.000 I will change the rules now that put people in prison based on their birth sex identification rather than their current identification.
00:46:53.000 I will do everything I can to make sure that we are in America that leaves no one behind.
00:46:59.000 So, you know what she's gonna do for you transgender people?
00:47:02.000 If you get murdered, she's gonna mention your name in a rose garden speech.
00:47:05.000 Aren't you excited?
00:47:05.000 Aren't you pumped?
00:47:07.000 She's not pandering.
00:47:08.000 That's how deeply she feels things.
00:47:09.000 Just like she feels abortion so deeply, she's gonna wear a scarf!
00:47:12.000 A scarf.
00:47:13.000 Ooh.
00:47:15.000 How this lady rose to near the top of the Democratic Party is beyond me.
00:47:20.000 So it is a weak field.
00:47:21.000 There was one good moment for Joe Biden that I think is going to be a memorable moment for Joe Biden.
00:47:25.000 Joe Biden was talking about how he helped stuttering kids on the campaign trail.
00:47:29.000 This became a particularly memorable moment for Joe Biden specifically because Sarah Huckabee Sanders promptly stepped directly on a rake because she doesn't understand that Joe Biden was once a kid who stuttered and has struggled with that.
00:47:39.000 Here was Joe Biden saying this.
00:47:40.000 Sarah Huckabee Sanders then tweeted something nasty out about it and Biden Really smacked her and that was a good moment for Biden politically speaking.
00:47:46.000 Here's Biden talking about this.
00:47:48.000 My wife and I have a call list of somewhere between 20 and 100 people that we call at least every week or every month to tell them I'm here.
00:47:56.000 I give them my private phone number.
00:47:58.000 They keep in touch with me.
00:47:59.000 The little kid who says, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I can't, I can't talk.
00:48:05.000 What do I do?
00:48:06.000 I have scores of these young women and men who I keep in contact with.
00:48:11.000 And Sarah Huckabee Sanders didn't understand what he was talking about there, and so she tried to make fun of him.
00:48:16.000 She said, I have absolutely no idea what Biden is talking about, and he immediately tweeted back at her, and he said, I've worked my whole life to overcome a stutter.
00:48:24.000 It's my great honor to mentor kids who have experienced the same.
00:48:26.000 It's called empathy.
00:48:27.000 Look it up.
00:48:27.000 Huckabee Sanders then deleted the tweet and apologized, obviously, because she said, I actually didn't know that about you.
00:48:33.000 That's commendable.
00:48:33.000 I apologize.
00:48:34.000 Should have made my point respectfully.
00:48:36.000 That's a good moment for Biden because anytime you do something, I mean, that's a clear win for him.
00:48:40.000 Okay, so final analysis.
00:48:42.000 Biden is fine.
00:48:43.000 He's durable.
00:48:44.000 Sanders has that durable base.
00:48:45.000 Buttigieg got hurt last night.
00:48:47.000 Klobuchar got a leg up on some people last night.
00:48:50.000 And Elizabeth Warren, I think, is done.
00:48:51.000 I think Elizabeth Warren is on a serious downslope right here, and it's only going to continue.
00:48:55.000 Okay.
00:48:56.000 Time for some things that I like and then some things that I hate.
00:48:59.000 So it is a rare day when I think that Trevor Noah is right about something.
00:49:02.000 So Trevor Noah on Comedy Central, he was pointing out that every Democrat on stage does this routine where they're like, I'm not rich.
00:49:10.000 I'm not rich.
00:49:12.000 As though this is some sort of qualifier to be president of the United States.
00:49:15.000 And Noah drops a pretty funny line here.
00:49:17.000 Here he is.
00:49:19.000 Senator, your net worth is 100 times mine.
00:49:22.000 Ooh.
00:49:24.000 Pete Buttigieg just called Elizabeth Warren a wealthy person.
00:49:30.000 You realize, for progressive white people, that's like being called the N-word.
00:49:34.000 They're like, how dare you call me wealthy?
00:49:36.000 I'm living comfortably, okay?
00:49:41.000 And you can see Elizabeth Warren wasn't liking that, because she did that thing that white women do when someone fights with them, they just face forward like, I'm not hearing anything.
00:49:51.000 See, Trevor Noah can be funny when he decides not to be a partisan hack.
00:49:56.000 It's true, it's so true, and it's been one of my pet peeves in this whole shebang, is how it is that booty judges are like, my qualification is that I'm poor.
00:50:07.000 Guess what?
00:50:08.000 There are, like, millions of other people who have not earned a lot of money in American society.
00:50:12.000 Also, you're 37, and let's be real about this, dude.
00:50:14.000 You went into politics after working at McKinsey.
00:50:16.000 You're gonna be rich.
00:50:17.000 Okay?
00:50:17.000 If anybody thinks that Pete Buttigieg, by the time he's 50, is not gonna be worth millions of dollars, it's because you're an idiot.
00:50:22.000 Pete Buttigieg will be worth plenty of money.
00:50:23.000 Even Bernie Sanders, a lifelong useless person, is worth a million dollars.
00:50:27.000 Because he's 80.
00:50:27.000 Okay, so, like, come on.
00:50:29.000 Come on.
00:50:30.000 Okay, time for a quick thing that I hate.
00:50:36.000 Okay, so this is an insane story.
00:50:39.000 Are you prepared for a story rife with insanity?
00:50:42.000 Here you go.
00:50:43.000 This is a story about a woman named Maya Forstater.
00:50:45.000 It made a lot of news yesterday because J.K.
00:50:47.000 Rowling got involved.
00:50:47.000 We'll get to that in a second.
00:50:49.000 So, Maya Forstater is a researcher on taxes.
00:50:52.000 She's a tax expert.
00:50:54.000 She works for something called the Center for Global Development, or rather, she did.
00:50:57.000 It's a think tank based in London and Washington that campaigns against poverty, according to the UK Independent.
00:51:01.000 She was accused of using offensive and exclusionary language on Twitter.
00:51:05.000 What did she say that was so offensive and exclusionary?
00:51:07.000 This is a direct quote.
00:51:09.000 Men cannot change into women.
00:51:11.000 Offensive and exclusionary.
00:51:13.000 To point out, men cannot magically change into women.
00:51:19.000 Now I know, you and I think about this and we're like, right.
00:51:22.000 Okay, so.
00:51:24.000 But in Britain, this is basically illegal.
00:51:27.000 She said men cannot change into women.
00:51:29.000 She was fired.
00:51:30.000 And then she sued.
00:51:31.000 She said that she was protected under the 2010 Equality Act because there are protected philosophical beliefs under the 2010 Equality Act you can't be fired for politics, for example.
00:51:41.000 So what did the judge decide?
00:51:42.000 So the judge at the Central London Employment Tribunal, which is, whenever you use tribunal here, it just sounds like something out of the Spanish Inquisition.
00:51:51.000 And it turns out it is, except the leftist, secularist Spanish Inquisition.
00:51:54.000 Judge James Taylor, not the singer, decided that Forstater's view was quote, incompatible with human dignity and fundamental rights of others.
00:52:03.000 So men cannot magically become women, is incompatible with human dignity and the fundamental rights of others.
00:52:10.000 See, it seems to me that a fundamental right of another person would be to speak freely.
00:52:14.000 Also, compatibility with human dignity seems to be like not firing people for saying basic biological truths.
00:52:21.000 But no, according to this judge, it is incompatible with human dignity and the fundamental rights of others to say a biological fact.
00:52:29.000 According to the judge, he says the tax expert was not entitled to ignore the legal rights of transgender people and quotes the enormous pain that can be caused by misgendering a person.
00:52:39.000 So you're not entitled to say a biological fact if it hurts someone's feelings in Britain.
00:52:43.000 If you do that, you can be fired from your job in Britain.
00:52:46.000 And by the way, this will move into the realm of hate speech and pretty soon you'll be able to be prosecuted in Britain for quote-unquote misgendering people.
00:52:52.000 Already in New York City, by the way, the New York City Human Rights Commission ruled like four years ago that if a business regularly quote-unquote misgenders people, you can be fined like a quarter million dollars for each incident, which is total insanity.
00:53:04.000 So if a man comes into your bar and you're like, hey dude, and he's like, I'm a woman, And you're like, are you though?
00:53:13.000 He can sue you, and the Human Rights Commission of New York will fine you a quarter million dollars.
00:53:18.000 This is where we stand in cities in the United- I mean, by the way, it's a brute, basic violation of the First Amendment, but in Britain, it's even worse.
00:53:26.000 This judge's ruling is fully insane.
00:53:28.000 You ready for this?
00:53:28.000 He concluded, quote, If a person has transitioned from male to female and has a gender recognition certificate, that person is legally a woman.
00:53:36.000 That is not something Ms.
00:53:37.000 Forstater is entitled to ignore.
00:53:38.000 Ms.
00:53:39.000 Forstater's position is that even if a trans woman has a GRC, she cannot honestly describe herself as a woman.
00:53:45.000 That belief is not worthy of respect in a democratic society.
00:53:50.000 That belief is not worthy of respect in a democratic society.
00:53:54.000 I mean, the utter unbelievable gall to say that it is not worthy of respect in a democratic society to say that a document from the government does not magically change you from one sex into the other.
00:54:06.000 This is utter, absolute bat bleep lunacy.
00:54:09.000 It's utter lunacy.
00:54:10.000 Totally crazy.
00:54:12.000 I mean, that is, are you kidding me?
00:54:15.000 So according to the government, this is what happens when government gets too big and too audacious and believes it can do magic.
00:54:20.000 So according to this judge, the government issues a certificate.
00:54:22.000 It says you are now a woman.
00:54:24.000 This means that everyone is now legally obligated to call you a woman because the government said so.
00:54:28.000 Do you have any idea how nuts that is?
00:54:32.000 You talk about legal positivism.
00:54:33.000 This is legal positivism taken to its extreme.
00:54:35.000 Legal positivism is the philosophy that rights and realities don't exist absent the government stating them.
00:54:42.000 This is basically like suggesting that, you know, for hundreds of years, black people were considered property in the United States.
00:54:48.000 The government legally considered them property.
00:54:49.000 So if you said that black person is a person, that presumably, because the government had already weighed in on it, the belief would not be worthy of respect in the democratic society.
00:54:57.000 Very offensive to slaveholders.
00:54:59.000 This is nuts.
00:55:00.000 The judge says, even paying due regard to the qualified right to freedom of expression, people cannot expect to be protected if their core belief involves violating others' dignity and creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating, or offensive environment for them.
00:55:13.000 Due regard to the qualified freedom of expression?
00:55:16.000 You haven't paid any regard to the qualified right to freedom of expression.
00:55:19.000 It doesn't matter to you.
00:55:21.000 You cannot expect to be protected if your core belief, not even the expression, the belief, involves violating other people's dignity.
00:55:28.000 By the way, we disagree with each other all the time.
00:55:30.000 In public life, we do it all the time.
00:55:33.000 And in private life, we disagree with each other all the time.
00:55:35.000 Is every disagreement about the nature of the world somehow a violation of others' dignity?
00:55:41.000 Because if so, the government is violating this lady's dignity by saying she can be fired for believing a biological fact.
00:55:45.000 Okay, so why does this become such a major issue?
00:55:48.000 One, it's a major issue on its own.
00:55:49.000 Two, J.K.
00:55:49.000 Rowling weighs in.
00:55:50.000 Now, J.K.
00:55:51.000 Rowling is the author of the Harry Potter series.
00:55:54.000 She is way on the left.
00:55:56.000 I mean, so much on the left that every so often she retcons a character.
00:56:01.000 Suddenly Dumbledore just becomes gay for no reason.
00:56:03.000 It's a children's book, but you know Dumbledore, he was always into the lads.
00:56:07.000 That was always Dumbledore's thing.
00:56:09.000 Like ten years after the books are written.
00:56:11.000 Okay, sure.
00:56:12.000 Why not?
00:56:13.000 Okay.
00:56:14.000 Well now, she tweeted out in favor of this, right?
00:56:16.000 Right.
00:56:16.000 She said, dress however you please.
00:56:18.000 Call yourself whatever you like.
00:56:19.000 Sleep with any consenting adults will have you.
00:56:21.000 OK, so far we are in pure leftist progressive territory.
00:56:24.000 Live your best life in peace and security.
00:56:26.000 But force women out of their jobs for stating that sex is real.
00:56:29.000 Hashtag I stand with Maya.
00:56:31.000 Hashtag this is not a drill.
00:56:33.000 This led to the world collapsing in on J.K. Reuters.
00:56:38.000 Rowling.
00:56:38.000 She'll comfort herself with her 500 million books sold.
00:56:40.000 Vox.com headlined, I kid you not, J.K.
00:56:43.000 Rowling's latest tweet, seems like transphobic BS.
00:56:46.000 Her fans are heartbroken.
00:56:49.000 Are heartbroken.
00:56:50.000 J.K.
00:56:50.000 Rowling just ruined Harry Potter.
00:56:52.000 Merry Christmas.
00:56:54.000 Did I miss the part where Harry Potter was like a transgender tract?
00:56:57.000 Also, if a muggle declares himself a wizard, are they a wizard or are they still a muggle?
00:57:02.000 I'm confused.
00:57:04.000 It was not just the idiots at Vox and their explanatory journalism.
00:57:08.000 It was also the Washington Post.
00:57:10.000 J.K.
00:57:10.000 Rowling is from Internet Culture Analysis by Sonia Rao and Abby Ohlheiser.
00:57:14.000 They put two of their finest on this over at the Washington Post.
00:57:16.000 J.K.
00:57:16.000 Rowling tried to make her work more inclusive.
00:57:18.000 Then she tweeted support for an anti-trans researcher.
00:57:22.000 Oh, there goes the inclusivity!
00:57:24.000 There it goes!
00:57:25.000 That's terrible and evil and wrong!
00:57:30.000 Absolute stupidity.
00:57:32.000 Absolute stupidity.
00:57:34.000 Elena Darcy, a Harry Potter who for five years wrote for the website MuggleNet and co-produced a podcast on Rowling's Fantastic Beasts series, told the post via email, Until this moment, I was in a sort of denial.
00:57:42.000 I'm so heartbroken.
00:57:44.000 This is who she is choosing to be.
00:57:46.000 The Harry Potter Alliance, a fan-led nonprofit, distanced itself from Rowling's tweet.
00:57:51.000 We know that trans women are women.
00:57:53.000 Trans men are men.
00:57:53.000 Non-binary people are non-binary.
00:57:55.000 Also, men are women.
00:57:57.000 Women are men.
00:57:58.000 And non-binary people have no gender.
00:58:01.000 That affirming and respecting people's gender is kind, loving, and literally saving lives.
00:58:07.000 This is utterly crazy.
00:58:10.000 Utterly crazy.
00:58:11.000 Well, it seems to me that J.K.
00:58:12.000 Rowling only has one way out of this, and she has to declare Dobby a transsexual.
00:58:16.000 It's the only way.
00:58:17.000 Dobby is now a transgender elf.
00:58:21.000 Dobby used to be female, but now is male.
00:58:24.000 Dobby could be non-binary, you don't know.
00:58:26.000 Dobby's never self-identified.
00:58:28.000 So we could just do this.
00:58:29.000 Maybe Harry's a female.
00:58:30.000 Have you ever thought about that?
00:58:31.000 Maybe this series is so woke that Harry is actually a female.
00:58:35.000 Have that ever occurred to you?
00:58:37.000 It could happen.
00:58:38.000 Just wait until next week when J.K.
00:58:39.000 Rowling has to walk this thing back and says she retcons a transgender character into one of her books.
00:58:43.000 All of this is insane and stupid, but that is our society.
