Summary

As Joe Biden continues to fall apart, the media are rushing to shore him up, but there is nobody in the wings to replace him. Kamala Harris, Gavin Newsom, Pete Buttigieg, Chris Matthews, Cory Booker, and Elizabeth Warren are all potential replacements, but none of them seem to be quite up to the job Joe Biden is supposed to be doing, and they know it. And it s increasingly bad day by day, as Biden struggles to get things done, and the media do their best to distract us from what s really going on in Washington, D.C. and around the world. And that s not even getting us to the bottom of the problem, which is that Joe Biden isn t doing nearly as good as they think he is, and no one seems to realize it, because they re so busy gushing over the guy who s actually doing a pretty good job in the White House, that they don t give him a chance to do much of anything at all, let alone get much of a head start on the things he needs to do in order to be a good president. And guess what? He s doing a good job, and he s doing pretty good at it, and we re just as good at what he s supposed to do, and better than anyone else in the history of presidents ever has before him, too. And we re not only that, but we re doing a great job, too! We re a lot better than they ever have before, and it s an amazing job, we re a country that s doing amazing things, too, and that s going to do a pretty damn good job at it too, you re going to get a lot of things right and we can t thank them enough for what they ve done so far, and you re gonna do a lot more than we ve ever done before. And we ve got a chance at doing it, so why not do it right, right? in the end, right here, we s gonna do it, right in the river, we ll do it right here and we have a chance, we have to do it in a place that s gonna go swimmingly, right everything we can do it. - Chris Matthews - I ll tell you what s going swimmingly like to swim like that - - and I s gonna jump out of my boat in the Potomac, right there, right by the river.

00:00:00.000 So as Joe Biden continues to fall apart, the media are rushing to shore him up.
00:00:03.000 There is nobody really waiting in the wings.
00:00:05.000 I understand there's a bit of a Gavin Newsom boomlet going around, but the fact is that Gavin Newsom, he's not been a very good governor of California.
00:00:11.000 He's extraordinarily vulnerable to a variety of counter charges, including the fact that he's actually lost population during his tenure as governor.
00:00:17.000 Gretchen Whitmer over in Michigan, she didn't do a good job during COVID.
00:00:21.000 Who else is in the wings?
00:00:21.000 Kamala Harris, worst vice president in modern American history.
00:00:24.000 Horrible approval ratings.
00:00:26.000 Pete Buttigieg, who's been so bad as secretary of transportation
00:00:29.000 that the paternity leave was actually the high point of his tenure in that position.
00:00:33.000 So they're kind of stuck with the old man and they know it.
00:00:36.000 And it's increasingly bad day by day.
00:00:38.000 Yesterday, Joe Biden was visiting the UK in anticipation of a NATO summit
00:00:41.000 over in Vilnius, and he was forced to rely on cue cards in order to have a basic conversation with the prime
00:00:48.000 minister of the UK.
00:00:50.000 All the flowers bloomed.
00:00:52.000 Well, Jerry, welcome.
00:00:53.000 It's great to have you here.
00:00:55.000 Back and down the street, I think.
00:00:57.000 You've been here a few times before, I know, but your first time as president, so we're very privileged and fortunate to have you here.
00:01:02.000 Thanks for coming.
00:01:03.000 We've met in San Diego, Belfast, Hiroshima, Washington, here, and couldn't be meeting with a closer friend and a greater ally.
00:01:14.000 He is no longer with it.
00:01:15.000 He's doing a very, very basic presser with Rishi Sunak, who presumably Joe Biden thinks works at 7-Eleven, because Joe Biden, you know, once made mention of the idea that everyone who works at 7-Eleven was Indian.
00:01:26.000 Yeah, you remember that?
00:01:27.000 You don't?
00:01:28.000 Because the media obscured it?
00:01:29.000 Because they did that with, like, pretty much everything regarding Biden?
00:01:31.000 Well, that continues to this day.
00:01:32.000 Joe Scarborough has an entire piece over at The Atlantic claiming that everything is hunky-dory, that all of the bad feelings Americans have about Joe Biden and his presidency so far, well, it's because they are misinformed.
00:01:43.000 It is not, it is not the Democrats who are wrong, it is the kids.
00:01:47.000 The full principal Skinner here, Joe Scarborough says, America is doing just fine, quote.
00:01:52.000 As Americans celebrated the 4th of July by watching baseball fireworks and Joey Chestnut hammering home his 16th win in the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, poor Uncle Sam labored through the midsummer celebration, beleaguered and under siege from all sides.
00:02:02.000 News items over the course of the holiday weekend reported Americans were feeling more skeptical of their country's future.
00:02:07.000 Uncle Sam deserves a modern day Atticus Finch to argue his case before the American people, but he doesn't have one.
00:02:12.000 But the real problem here is that, of course, we are being too hard on slow Joe Biden.
00:02:17.000 If only we were just... If only we recognized that Joe Biden is actually doing an amazing job.
00:02:22.000 How bad is it to become MSNBC?
00:02:24.000 Rolled forth Chris Matthews.
00:02:25.000 He's back!
00:02:26.000 Chris Matthews!
00:02:26.000 That's what they say!
00:02:28.000 To gush over Joe Biden.
00:02:29.000 Look a little rough.
00:02:31.000 Come in here.
00:02:33.000 Run in here.
00:02:34.000 On the chair.
00:02:34.000 Didn't brush my hair.
00:02:36.000 Come out of the show.
00:02:37.000 Get up in the morning.
00:02:38.000 Look a little rumpled.
00:02:39.000 Chris Matthews!
00:02:39.000 MSNBC!
00:02:39.000 Go!
00:02:41.000 It's so interesting how this whole thing is polarized now that we're doing a great job in world leadership.
00:02:46.000 Probably at the level of FDR or Eisenhower, we're holding the world together.
00:02:50.000 We're building NATO as it was built to be, when it was first formed, to stop Russia.
00:02:55.000 To stop Russia's advancement into Western Europe.
00:02:57.000 And look where we've stopped them.
00:02:59.000 At the Ukraine.
00:03:00.000 At Ukraine.
00:03:01.000 That's where we stopped them, and in the Balkans.
00:03:03.000 It's extraordinary what Blinken has done, and Jake Sullivan has done, and what the President has done.
00:03:08.000 All together.
00:03:10.000 They're doing a great job, but here at home, and you talked about that earlier this morning, this distinction where people cannot say what you said in your article for The Atlantic.
00:03:19.000 They can't breathe it.
00:03:20.000 They can't believe it, which is everything is doing pretty well.
00:03:23.000 We have inflation.
00:03:24.000 It's continued, but it's going down.
00:03:26.000 Everything is going swimmingly.
00:03:30.000 Everything's swimming!
00:03:31.000 Ukraine!
00:03:32.000 That's a country.
00:03:33.000 Sometimes the Russians go in, sometimes you kick them out.
00:03:35.000 NATO's going amazing.
00:03:37.000 Chris Matthews, everything's weird.
00:03:39.000 Everything's going swimmingly.
00:03:40.000 I like to swim.
00:03:41.000 I like to swim in the river, in the Potomac.
00:03:44.000 I'm gonna jump in there right after this.
00:03:45.000 Come here.
00:03:46.000 Get out of there.
00:03:48.000 If I have the chance to do my Chris Matthews impersonation, it's never going to end.
00:03:52.000 I've been waiting for years for Chris Matthews to make his comeback so he can bring back the impersonation.
00:03:55.000 In any case, Chris Matthews sings the song from the hymnal the same media are singing.
00:04:01.000 Dana Bash and the rest of the media are out there in full-scale defense of the fact that Joe Biden is a is a nasty old man.
00:04:06.000 Okay, let's just be real about this.
00:04:07.000 Joe Biden has been a nasty character since he first walked onto the American political scene.
00:04:11.000 This attempt to recast him and recapitulate him as a nice gentleman, as a person who gets along with everyone, it is nonsense.
00:04:19.000 He was leading the charge during the Clarence Thomas hearings, pushing forward the Anita Hill nonsense.
00:04:25.000 It was Joe Biden who has threatened his political opponents and yelled at them and bloviated for literally five decades in the United States Senate.
00:04:34.000 There's this belief system that Joe Biden is suddenly a nice elderly gentleman.
00:04:37.000 It's just not true.
00:04:38.000 I mean, there's an entire article in the Axios yesterday all about how he yells at his aides.
00:04:41.000 I mean, that's been true for 50 years.
00:04:42.000 That's not the new thing about him.
00:04:43.000 The only thing that's new is that he's kind of senile now.
00:04:46.000 But the anchors on CNN, they're out there to make sure that you continue to believe that Joe Biden is a nice man.
00:04:52.000 Now, there are a bunch of data points that suggest he's not so nice.
00:04:55.000 One of the most obvious data points is that he has disowned a seventh grandchild through no fault of her own.
00:05:00.000 Because we're talking about a baby.
00:05:02.000 This kid's like four years old.
00:05:04.000 And Hunter Biden shook some lady.
00:05:06.000 And then that lady had a baby.
00:05:07.000 And they have denied that baby the Biden name, which is the only valuable thing about being a Biden, as Hunter has found out.
00:05:13.000 Hunter has made bank off the Biden name.
00:05:15.000 So has Frank Biden, Joe's brother.
00:05:18.000 In fact, everybody remotely connected with the Biden family who can use that Biden name has traded off the family name, but Joe Biden and Hunter, they've denied this baby the ability to use the Biden name, a name so lucrative that you can travel to foreign countries like Ukraine and pick up bags of cash, sacks of cash.
00:05:32.000 And then Joe Biden, when asked how many grandkids he has, he always says six, even though there are seven, obviously.
00:05:36.000 But according to the media, the real problem here is that Republicans are pouncing.
00:05:40.000 It's the Republican pouncing that's the problem.
00:05:41.000 Here's Dana Bash defending Joe Biden's missing seventh grandchild routine.
00:05:45.000 This is a story that is sad and disturbing on so many levels.
00:05:52.000 Yes, it is political for a couple of reasons.
00:05:57.000 Number one, yes, Republicans are using it and are going to take advantage of it in a way that is Unfortunate and inappropriate.
00:06:05.000 But the reason they are doing that is because, and able to do that, is because of the brand and the kind of person that we all know and believe Joe Biden to be, because it's who he says he is, and it's somebody who is a family man.
00:06:19.000 That's what we see all of the time.
00:06:23.000 We see him.
00:06:24.000 We know he's a family man.
00:06:25.000 We know it's disturbing because we know he's such a wonderful man.
00:06:28.000 And it's only these Republicans that keep being mean about the fact that he has completely disowned a seventh grandchild and pretends that grandchild does not exist.
00:06:35.000 And the talking points don't match the reality for the Democratic Party, but they're going to soldier right on through.
00:06:40.000 We'll talk more about this in a moment.
00:06:42.000 You know a company is looking out for you when they actually upgrade their service and they don't even charge you for it.
00:06:45.000 That's great news and it is great for the new and current Pure Talk customers.
00:06:49.000 Pure Talk just added data to every plan and includes a mobile hotspot with no price increase whatsoever.
00:06:54.000 If you've considered Pure Talk before but haven't made the switch, take a look again.
00:06:57.000 For just $20 a month, you'll get unlimited talk, text, and now 50% more 5G data plus their new mobile hotspot.
00:07:02.000 This is why I love Pure Talk.
00:07:04.000 They're veteran-owned.
00:07:04.000 They only hire the best customer service team located right here in the United States of America.
00:07:08.000 Most families are saving almost $1,000 a year while enjoying the most dependable 5G network in the country.
00:07:13.000 Remember, you vote with how you spend your money, so stop supporting woke wireless companies that don't support you.
00:07:17.000 When you go to Pure Talk, dot com slash Shapiro. You'll save an additional 50 percent
00:07:20.000 off your very first month because they actually value you. That's pure talk dot com slash Shapiro.
00:07:24.000 Pure talk is wireless for Americans by Americans. They're a company that is proud to stand by
00:07:29.000 the daily wire. This is one of the reasons we like the folks over at Pure Talk. Go check out
00:07:32.000 their service right now. Use it for all of my business calls. Go to pure talk dot com slash Shapiro
00:07:36.000 again. That's pure talk dot com slash Shapiro and get an additional 50 percent off your
00:07:41.000 very first month of coverage. OK, so the view was also out in defense of Joe Biden's missing
00:07:46.000 seventh grandchild routine. So the collective IQ at The View, which maybe breaks double digits,
00:07:52.000 maybe they had many thoughts on why it is that Joe Biden is disowning a grandchild.
00:07:56.000 child.
00:07:57.000 President Biden doesn't need to overstep his son.
00:08:00.000 I like that part, but I don't know why they go out of their way to say six grandchildren or four kids.
00:08:05.000 When my parents talk about me, they say, we love all our kids.
00:08:07.000 We love our grandbabies.
00:08:08.000 I've never seen them numerically repeat over and over.
00:08:11.000 I like three kids.
00:08:12.000 I like four kids.
00:08:15.000 The reason that's happening is because the right wing, who again is weaponizing everything related to Hunter, keeps asking, so how many children do you have?
00:08:25.000 Well, maybe Maureen Dowd should find something else to write about.
00:08:29.000 Yeah, write about something else!
00:08:32.000 I'm sorry.
00:08:32.000 You know, these things are, for me, when you start talking about people's families and what they're doing, I find it unnecessary.
00:08:43.000 This is not anybody's business.
00:08:45.000 Nobody needed to know about this.
00:08:47.000 This is private.
00:08:49.000 Oh, this is private, you see.
00:08:51.000 If it were the Trump family, do you think Whoopi Goldberg would be saying it's private?
00:08:54.000 You hear her take a side slap there at Maureen Dowd, the New York Times columnist.
00:08:57.000 That's because Maureen Dowd, who is certainly no Republican, had the temerity to write a column in the New York Times over the weekend titled, It's Seven Grandkids, Mr. President.
00:09:05.000 She says even my Republican sister is not immune to Joe Biden's gregarious Irish charm.
00:09:08.000 She met him at media holiday parties over the years and was so impressed she got seduced to the other side for a time, voting for the Obama-Biden ticket in 2008 and writing in Biden's name for president in 2012.
00:09:17.000 She sent out a Christmas card one year with a picture of herself cheek-to-cheek with Biden.
00:09:20.000 Some of her Republican friends stopped speaking to her.
00:09:22.000 So I was surprised recently when I discovered my sister writing a letter to President Biden, a plea she had started in the middle of the night after mulling over the matter for quite a while.
00:09:29.000 I watched as you told the nation you had six grandchildren and you loved each one of them.
00:09:32.000 She wrote, I believe that.
00:09:33.000 What I cannot believe and what I find unconscionable is that you refuse to admit or accept the fact there's a beautiful little four-year-old girl living in Arkansas by the name of Navy Joan, who's your seventh grandchild.
00:09:42.000 In his 2021 memoir, Hunter wrote dismissively about Navy's mother, London Roberts, whom he met while he was spiraling into addiction and going to Washington strip clubs.
00:09:49.000 He wrote that the women he had sexual encounters with during his drug rampages were hardly the dating type.
00:09:56.000 But Maureen Dowd points out that none of that matters.
00:09:59.000 Quote, I have sympathy for Hunter going into a dark, bleak hole, as he called it.
00:10:02.000 I have sympathy for a father coping with a son who is out of control and who may still be fragile.
00:10:06.000 With Hunter, his father can seem paralyzed about the right thing to do.
00:10:09.000 But the president can't defend Hunter on all his other messes and draw the line at accepting one little girl.
00:10:13.000 OK, but according to The View, even Maureen Dowd should not be signing into this particular bae because the precious must be protected at all costs.
00:10:19.000 Here's Sonny Hostin actually blaming mom, blaming Hunter's paramour who sired his child for this even being a public issue.
00:10:30.000 I hate this for that child.
00:10:32.000 You're not asked to be brought into the world.
00:10:36.000 It's just a circumstance, you know?
00:10:38.000 And apparently this was more of a one-night stand.
00:10:42.000 It wasn't like they had a relationship.
00:10:44.000 He was in the throes of addiction when this woman became pregnant.
00:10:47.000 And she is posting pictures of the baby with an Air Force One cap at the Jefferson Memorial.
00:10:55.000 And so she is sort of trying to I don't know, wedge herself into the family, and I don't think that's the right way to do it.
00:11:06.000 I mean, it's unbelievable.
00:11:07.000 It really is.
00:11:08.000 They're attacking... Have you ever seen The View attack the woman in a situation like this?
00:11:12.000 So, disgusting male knocks up woman.
00:11:14.000 Woman has baby.
00:11:15.000 Disgusting male then tries to lower his child support payments and deny use of his last name to the child.
00:11:20.000 Would you ever believe that the women of The View, these great feminist defenders, would abandon that woman and blame the woman?
00:11:26.000 No, she's trying to wedge herself into the headlines, wedge herself into the family.
00:11:30.000 It really is quite vile, but they must defend Biden at all costs.
00:11:33.000 They have to defend Biden at all costs.
00:11:34.000 I mean, we shouldn't be surprised by the ladies of The View because they are indeed some of the stupidest people walking the planet right now.
00:11:39.000 It's a wonder that they can stay upright.
00:11:41.000 I mean, just as another piece of evidence, Ana Navarro yesterday was talking about how she apparently drives around the state of Florida shouting, I say gay or something out the windows.
00:11:49.000 Just demonstrates the high levels of intelligence every day, evidence on The View.
00:11:55.000 It wasn't me in New Hampshire screaming, we say gay.
00:11:58.000 No, I wish I would have.
00:12:00.000 I try to do it every time I'm anywhere near Ron DeSantis or any of his people.
00:12:06.000 I just, like, I go around like a dog in Florida with my head outside of my car.
00:12:10.000 We say gay!
00:12:15.000 That's that crazy lady on the I-95 we were shouting the other day.
00:12:17.000 That was weird.
00:12:18.000 That was weird, but yeah, again, you shouldn't expect much of these women, but it is impressive how they are willing to put aside all of their feminist bona fides, all their female solidarity nonsense, the minute that the old white man is threatened.
00:12:30.000 Never threaten the old white man who they rely upon politically, even if it means that he is disowning his own grandchild.
00:12:36.000 It really is quite disgusting.
00:12:38.000 Speaking of things that could be quite disgusting, I'm sure we're going to find out more details.
00:12:42.000 The whistleblower in the Hunter Joe Biden case, one of the whistleblowers, this particular whistleblower alleging actual contact between members of the Chinese government and the Biden family.
00:12:52.000 That guy's now getting arrested by the DOJ.
00:12:54.000 We'll get to that momentarily.
00:12:55.000 First, It is important for you to have life insurance.
00:12:57.000 It's just an important thing.
00:12:57.000 If you're a responsible person, you've got to make sure that your family is taken care of in case, God forbid, something should happen to you.
00:13:02.000 It can happen at literally any time.
00:13:04.000 I'm going to be dark here, but it's a simple fact of the matter.

00:14:00.000 Meanwhile, there is a whistleblower who came out a few months ago.
00:14:05.000 It was unclear who this person was.
00:14:07.000 He had been called a missing witness.
00:14:09.000 And it turns out his name was Dr. Gal Luft.
00:14:11.000 He is an Israeli professor.
00:14:13.000 And according to the New York Post just a little while ago, he laid out bribery allegations against the Biden family
00:14:19.000 in an extraordinary video filmed in an undisclosed location well on the run.
00:14:23.000 In the 14-minute recording obtained exclusively by the New York Post, the fugitive former Israeli army officer claims he was arrested in Cyprus to stop him from testifying to the House Oversight Committee, that the Biden family received payments from individuals with alleged ties to Chinese military intelligence, and that they had an FBI mole who shared classified information with their benefactors from the China-controlled energy company CEFC.
00:14:42.000 The same CFC that the U.S.
00:14:43.000 he provided the incriminating evidence to six officials from the FBI and the DOJ in
00:14:46.000 a secret meeting in Brussels in March 2019, but then he says that it was covered up.
00:14:50.000 Here is Dr. Gal Luft making allegations about the Biden family.
00:14:54.000 The same CFC that the US government claims was associated with a Chinese intelligence
00:15:00.000 and quote, an international criminal organization was a 501c3 charitable organization registered
00:15:08.000 in the state of Virginia and approved by the IRS.
00:15:13.000 CFC Secretary General Dr. Patrick Ho, who paid Hunter Biden a million dollars for God knows what, was not allowed to mention the word Biden before the jury when he was tried in New York in 2018.
00:15:25.000 The very same prosecutor who is now after me, Daniel Reikenthal, told the judge at the time that mentioning the name Biden would, quote, add a political dimension to the case.
00:15:42.000 And the judge agreed.
00:15:44.000 Which means that if I'm ever brought before a U.S.
00:15:46.000 court, I would not be allowed to utter the word Brussels or Biden.
00:15:53.000 And the real context of my arrest, me being patient zero of the Biden family investigation, would be hidden from the jury.
00:16:04.000 These are pretty bombshell allegations that Left is making right here.
00:16:08.000 He says that the government actually has minutes of a Brussels meeting involving Joe Biden.
00:16:13.000 He says he told the DOJ and FBI in Brussels that Joe Biden, soon after the vice presidential term ended, had attended a meeting at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, D.C.
00:16:20.000 with his son Hunter and officials from the CEFC.
00:16:22.000 That, of course, is the Chinese company that did business with Hunter Biden.
00:16:25.000 Left accounts of the former's VP presence at that meeting was corroborated 21 months later when the FBI interviewed another attendee, Biden family associate Rob Walker, according to recent testimony before Congress.
00:16:33.000 Another whistleblower, by the way, had testified that Rob Walker was basically never interviewed by the FBI as a follow-up.
00:16:41.000 No questions were asked during the Hunter Biden investigation.
00:16:43.000 Love disclosed during the Brussels interview that CEFC was paying $100,000 a month to Hunter and $65,000 a month to his uncle, Jim Biden, in exchange for their FBI connections and use of the Biden name to promote China's Belt and Road Initiative around the world, and that the money was actually being funneled through Rob Walker.
00:16:58.000 The Oversight Committee has written to Walker demanding he submit to questioning about his role in distributing more than a million dollars from China to at least three of Biden's relatives.
00:17:06.000 Apparently the DOJ sent a delegation of six people to meet Luft in Brussels, he alleges.
00:17:10.000 There'll be four FBI agents and two prosecutors from the Southern District of New York.
00:17:15.000 He said, over an intensive two-day meeting, I shared my information about the Biden family's financial transactions with CEFC, including specific dollar figures.
00:17:22.000 I also provided the name of Rob Walker.
00:17:24.000 He also told the DOJ and the FBI in Brussels that Hunter had an FBI mole named One-Eye who had tipped off his CEFC associates that they were under investigation.
00:17:32.000 So in other words, members of the Biden family were in touch with people in the FBI who were actually funneling information to Hunter's business partners.
00:17:39.000 Luft is apparently well-connected in intelligence circles in Washington, D.C., where he ran a think tank, the Institute for the Analysis of Global Security, with former CIA Directors James Woolsey and former National Security Advisor Robert McFarlane as advisors.
00:17:50.000 And he learned in 2017 Hunter and Jim Biden were being paid by the CEFC because Luft was in partnership at the time with a non-profit think tank associated with CEFC as well.
00:18:00.000 When Ho was arrested in 2017 in New York on bribery charges, the first person he tried to call was Hunter Biden.
00:18:05.000 But at his trial, Ho was blocked by prosecutors from mentioning the Bidens, according to Luft.
00:18:09.000 So he's alleging that the prosecutor who is currently going after him is apparently attempting to stifle all questions about Hunter Biden.
00:18:18.000 Well, this is now being paired with the story that this whistleblower is now going to be arrested.
00:18:24.000 He's now under indictment.
00:18:27.000 According to the UK Independent, a whistleblower who has repeatedly accused the Bidens of corruption has now been charged by the DOJ with arms trafficking, acting as a foreign agent for China, and violating Iran sanctions.
00:18:37.000 Luft is accused of paying a former advisor to Donald Trump on behalf of principals in China in 2016 without registering as a former agent.
00:18:44.000 As a foreign agent, rather.
00:18:45.000 So, to make a rather complicated story short, apparently Gal Luft is suggesting that he had personal knowledge that money was being passed via CFC to Hunter Biden, and presumably to Joe Biden as well, in return for Joe Biden's leverage over the FBI.
00:19:01.000 Left has now been indicted by Joe Biden's DOJ.
00:19:04.000 So is the content of the indictment real?
00:19:08.000 Is the indictment political in nature?
00:19:11.000 I mean, it's very difficult to tell at this point because we just don't know the answer to that.
00:19:15.000 But should we be suspicious?
00:19:16.000 I mean, why wouldn't we be suspicious at this point, given the militarization of the FBI and the CIA against, for example, Donald Trump from 2015 through 2020?
00:19:26.000 According to Newsweek, Luft was previously believed to be a key figure in House Republicans' probe into the Biden family's alleged corrupt foreign business dealings, although he was reported missing by GOP figures.
00:19:38.000 One of the officials Luft is accused of covertly attempting to recruit and pay on behalf of principals based in China was an advisor to then-President-elect Donald Trump.
00:19:46.000 That presumably would be former CIA Director James Woolsey, who was a national security advisor to Trump during the 2016 election, and who was also associated with Luft.
00:19:54.000 Elsewhere in the indictment, prosecutors say that Luft sent an email in 2016 to a person named only as CC1, identified by the Washington Post's Aaron Blake, as a now-convicted Chinese oil executive, celebrating that Woolsey had joined Trump's team.
00:20:07.000 So, who's actually corrupt here?
00:20:09.000 The government is alleging that Gal Luft is corrupt.
00:20:11.000 Luft is alleging the Bidens are corrupt.
00:20:14.000 All of this stinks to high heaven, and presumably we will have more information in the near future, you would imagine.
00:20:20.000 But that's not the only thing that stinks to high heaven.
00:20:22.000 In just a second, we'll get to the Hunter Biden prosecutor who is now suggesting that he was not rejected for special prosecutor status.
00:20:28.000 We'll get to that momentarily first.

00:21:32.000 Okay, so that's not the only Hunter Biden whistleblower-related story.
00:21:35.000 So you'll remember there's another whistleblower.
00:21:37.000 Gary Shapley, who served as the lead IRS official on the Biden case, who alleged that David Weiss, the U.S.
00:21:43.000 Attorney for the District of Delaware and the lead investigator into Hunter Biden, was essentially barred by the DOJ and Merrick Garland from special prosecutor status, which would have allowed him the independence to charge Hunter Biden pretty much anywhere.
00:21:55.000 Now, Weiss is coming out and saying that that's not true.
00:21:58.000 He sent a letter to Senator Lindsey Graham, the ranking member on the Judiciary Committee.
00:22:02.000 He said, to clarify an apparent misperception and to avoid future confusion, I wish to make
00:22:05.000 one point clear. In this case, I have not requested special counsel designation. Rather,
00:22:10.000 I had discussions with departmental officials regarding potential appointment under a different
00:22:14.000 provision of law, which would allow me to file charges in a district outside my own without
00:22:17.000 the partnership of a local U.S. attorney. I was assured that I would be granted this authority
00:22:21.000 if it proved necessary. This assurance came months before the October 7th, 2022 meeting
00:22:25.000 referenced through the whistleblowers allegations. Now, here is the problem.
00:22:29.000 Shapley made direct claims that prosecutors had refused his request to bring charges against Biden.
00:22:34.000 And Shapley claims that at that meeting, David Weiss explicitly told not just him but a bevy of witnesses that he had been rejected for special counsel status.
00:22:42.000 This is a point that Annie McCarthy is making over at National Review.
00:22:46.000 He says it has been quite something to watch U.S.
00:22:48.000 Delaware attorney David Weiss squirm.
00:22:51.000 Sweating him on one side are the credible whistleblower allegations by law enforcement agents.
00:22:54.000 He obviously told them he was not the deciding official when it came to whether criminal charges should be brought against Hunter Biden.
00:23:00.000 Pressuring him just as hard on the other side is Attorney General Merrick Garland.
00:23:03.000 When his now familiar slippery style insists Weiss was always the deciding official, I was instructed that if he ran into any interference, he'd only ask Garland for special counsel authority and he'd be permitted to file any charge.
00:23:13.000 The circle can't be squared, of course, but the spotlight is on the wrong guy.
00:23:16.000 The spotlight, says Andy McCarthy, should not be on Weiss.
00:23:19.000 It should, in fact, be on Merrick Garland.
00:23:23.000 He says, the culprit is Garland.
00:23:25.000 He says, think about the nonsensical construct Garland has built around the public question of who sabotaged the Hunter Biden prosecution.
00:23:31.000 Who dragged it out for years, willfully undermining the investigator's ability to investigate, even as we were told that the ongoing investigation necessitated resisting congressional inquiries.
00:23:39.000 Who pulled that off for so long the statute of limitations lapsed on some of the most revelatory corruption charges.
00:23:44.000 Who choreographed the inevitable sweetheart plea deal.
00:23:46.000 That wasn't Weiss, it was Garland.
00:23:48.000 Garland says Weiss only needed to ask and he would have been given limitless special counsel authority.
00:23:52.000 As a result, the feeding frenzy is now focused on whether Weiss faced resistance from Garland and whether he formally asked Garland.
00:23:59.000 But that's preposterous.
00:24:00.000 Because if you look at the actual special counsel regs, what you will see is there is no procedure calling for a district U.S.
00:24:04.000 attorney to seek special counsel status.
00:24:06.000 In fact, it is the attorney general's job to simply appoint a special counsel.
00:24:13.000 In fact, there is not even a procedure for a U.S.
00:24:15.000 attorney to request special counsel status.
00:24:18.000 Instead, it is the AG who's supposed to make an independent determination as to whether special counsel status is even necessary.
00:24:23.000 So this all seems very, very, very slippery, obviously.
00:24:27.000 Okay, meanwhile, Joe Biden headed over to the NATO summit.
00:24:31.000 He was immediately confused, as is his usual arrangement.
00:24:35.000 So here's some tape of him arriving at NATO and not knowing where to go.
00:24:37.000 There he is, just wondering, where am I going?
00:24:44.000 Where are they?
00:24:46.000 I think they're over there.
00:24:47.000 Is that the sun?
00:24:49.000 Is it grimace?
00:24:50.000 I'm confused.
00:24:51.000 I don't know what's happening.
00:24:56.000 Very encouraging stuff as Joe Biden steps onto the world stage.
00:25:00.000 Right now the big question with regard to NATO is whether Ukraine will be offered the ability to join NATO.
00:25:05.000 That seems incredibly unlikely at this point.
00:25:07.000 NATO has taken the bizarre position that they are not going to allow Ukraine into NATO until the war is over.
00:25:12.000 But at the same time, that actually gives Real weight to Vladimir Putin to keep the war going, because if the minute the war is over, Ukraine joins NATO, then why exactly would Putin not just keep pounding Ukraine?
00:25:27.000 In fact, what the United States should do is say, with regard to NATO, that we are happy to make NATO a part of a broader discussion that involves the end of the war, but we're not going to make NATO membership contingent on the war's end.
00:25:41.000 Again, that actually makes it in Putin's interest to make the war last as long as humanly possible.
00:25:48.000 Meanwhile, the other big headline that came out of NATO is that Sweden has basically now been, in all but name, admitted to NATO.
00:25:56.000 That, of course, is a big loss for Vladimir Putin.
00:25:58.000 That is another state near his borders that is joining NATO.
00:26:02.000 Turkey was the big obstacle.
00:26:03.000 Turkey had been holding this up for the moment because they want their own EU status.
00:26:10.000 But now, apparently, Turkey has dropped its opposition, according to the Wall Street Journal.
00:26:14.000 The agreement was reached in the final hours before a NATO summit in the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius on Tuesday, potentially allowing NATO to expand across more than 1,000 miles of territory, straddling the Baltic Sea, shifting the balance of power in Northern Europe, and creating a potential choke point for Russian warships and aircraft in the region.
00:26:28.000 So now Putin, who started this war presumably to break out of NATO's grip, has actually
00:26:32.000 strengthened NATO instead.
00:26:34.000 NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
00:26:38.000 had agreed to forward Sweden's accession to the Turkish parliament as soon as possible.
00:26:41.000 He had blocked Sweden's NATO bid for more than a year, but told NATO officials he would
00:26:45.000 drop his objections after hours of meeting ahead of the Vilnius summit.
00:26:49.000 NATO's inclusion of Sweden along with Finland's accession earlier this year adds significant
00:26:51.000 military heft to the alliance, including hundreds of warplanes and tanks and tens of thousands
00:26:56.000 of soldiers.
00:26:57.000 Now, presumably, this also gives some credence to the Vladimir Putin claim that NATO is trying
00:27:01.000 to box him in, and the reason he got aggressive in the first place is how aggressive NATO
00:27:04.000 The bottom line is that if his goal is to weaken NATO, obviously that has failed.
00:27:08.000 However, there's some cost to this.
00:27:11.000 Erdogan happens to be a dictator.
00:27:12.000 A not particularly nice dictator.
00:27:14.000 Erdogan has taken many actions that are counter to American interests.
00:27:18.000 In the Middle East, he's been kind of bizarrely active.
00:27:21.000 In Syria, for example, he's been very friendly with the Russians up until now.
00:27:24.000 So this flip must have come with some sort of cost to the United States in the West.
00:27:28.000 And so the question is, what is the other shoe that's going to drop here?
00:27:31.000 What exactly did we give Turkey to turn against the Russians?
00:27:35.000 Because he's made a bunch of moves, has Erdogan, that are specifically anti-Russian in nature.
00:27:41.000 It's really sort of fascinating, just as a matter of foreign policy.
00:27:46.000 It's not merely that Turkey is now dropping its opposition to Sweden, joining NATO.
00:27:51.000 It's also that he is apparently endorsing Ukraine's accession to NATO, allowing Zelensky to take home Azov commanders.
00:27:59.000 They'd been kept in Turkey.
00:28:00.000 These Azov commanders have now been returned to Ukraine.
00:28:02.000 He authorized France to monitor a nuclear reactor that Russia is building in Turkey and asked for a resumption of EU accession talks as well.
00:28:09.000 This is according to Timur Kuran, who's a professor at Duke University.
00:28:14.000 He says the pivot may be tactical.
00:28:15.000 His visceral hostility to the West is well known.
00:28:18.000 But as with Anwar Sadat's memorable 1972 decision to try to make peace with Israel, Erdogan's ongoing pivot may endure.
00:28:24.000 If it brings more Western investment, he and his team may find partnering with the West too seductive.
00:28:29.000 I mean, that's possible, or it could just be tactical in extreme.
00:28:33.000 I mean, it could just be that he is attempting to actually worm his way into the NATO alliance specifically so he can take aggressive action in the Middle East and then it prevents NATO allies presumably from supporting the people he would target in the Middle East.
00:28:47.000 So, things could get very ugly with regard to this buy-off to Turkey.
00:28:53.000 Again, according to CNN Politics, One major consequence of Erdogan's reversal could be a souring of his relations with Putin only days after he invited the Russian leader to Turkey in August.
00:29:02.000 Erdogan wants to wield Turkey's power to broker an extension to a deal that allows Ukraine to export grain from Black Sea ports as well.
00:29:09.000 It looks as though Erdogan has made a significant break with Putin.
00:29:12.000 But again, he's probably playing both sides.
00:29:14.000 And this is actually the real legacy of Joe Biden's administration.
00:29:18.000 Joe Biden's administration has essentially created incentive structures for everyone to play both sides as often as possible.
00:29:25.000 Because Joe Biden is just not a very good ally.
00:29:28.000 Joe Biden is always somebody who has his eye on domestic political concerns.
00:29:32.000 And not only that, he is very beholden to his left.
00:29:35.000 So you've seen pretty much every country in the Middle East now triangulating with China.
00:29:38.000 Saudi Arabia is triangulating with China.
00:29:40.000 Bahrain is triangulating with China.
00:29:44.000 Qatar is triangulating with China.
00:29:46.000 Israel has been triangulating with China.
00:29:48.000 Turkey is triangulating with China.
00:29:50.000 Everybody is having to try to decide exactly how to hold this sort of middle balance between China and the United States.
00:29:57.000 And that is largely because the United States has not proved itself to be a durable ally in a lot of these cases.
00:30:02.000 And so Turkey is now playing between the West and between Russia.
00:30:05.000 And that's going to be the smart play from here on out for all of these non-aligned states.
00:30:10.000 The United States could make those countries into allies if the United States would simply recognize these countries have their own interests and then try to work within those interests.
00:30:20.000 But the Biden administration has the peculiar sort of weird ideological notion that they're going to cram down universal liberalism on everybody.
00:30:29.000 It is amazing they continued to push that.
00:30:31.000 So, this will be played as a big Biden win, but you don't know what the actual downside is going to be until we find out what Turkey got in exchange for all of this.
00:30:39.000 Okay, meanwhile, Joe Biden has been around touting his economic record, and we now have some information on where income is actually growing in the United States.
00:30:49.000 And it is not growing in the areas that Joe Biden wishes it were growing.
00:30:52.000 We'll get some more on that in just one second, but first, It's time to put that Bud Light boycott money to good use.
00:30:57.000 And lucky for you, we have come up with the cure to Bidenflation.

00:31:30.000 Meanwhile, the Biden administration struggling on economics.
00:31:33.000 The White House's Jared Bernstein from the National Council of Economic Advisers.
00:31:36.000 He continues to claim that if they just say Bidenomics over and over and over, people will suddenly become very excited.
00:31:41.000 That, of course, is not true.
00:31:44.000 I can ask you really hard things and say, you know, why do people not like Bidenomics?
00:31:50.000 Why are the poll numbers down?
00:31:51.000 I can ask you all these things and you're going to keep coming back.
00:31:54.000 If you ask people about the components of Bidenomics at a granular level, we're seeing poll numbers that are north of 70%.
00:32:01.000 I mean, I can show them to you.
00:32:03.000 Right, but just in terms of approval on how the president's handling the economy, it's under water.
00:32:09.000 So it just doesn't... I think Bidenomics in action is going to move those numbers.
00:32:13.000 We're already seeing some traction in that direction.
00:32:16.000 So why don't we come back and talk about that next time.
00:32:21.000 Okay, you're not seeing any traction in Joe Biden's economic numbers.
00:32:24.000 In fact, the Federal Reserve's Regulatory Chief, according to the Wall Street Journal, has now outlined steps to strengthen the financial cushions for larger banks, which he said would help boost the resilience of the system after a spate of mid-sized bank failures this year.
00:32:34.000 The reason they're having to require that people hold more cash in the banks is because the banks invested in American bonds, and those bonds got absolutely shellacked because of the increase in the interest rates.
00:32:43.000 Bringing up the yields and therefore making last year's bonds worth literally nothing, which is why the Silicon Valley Bank went under.
00:32:50.000 The changes which regulators are expected to propose this summer come after what Barr described, this of course would be Michael Barr, the Fed's Vice Chair for Supervision, described as a holistic review of big bank capital requirements.
00:33:00.000 Under the plan, large banks could be required to hold an additional two percentage points of capital or an additional two bucks of capital for every $100 of risk-weighted assets.
00:33:07.000 The precise amount of additional capital depends on a firm's business activities.
00:33:11.000 Banks would face more difficult stress tests to gauge their ability to weather a hypothetical recession.
00:33:15.000 So we're still going to, instead of, you know, strengthening the economy, we're going to blame the banks for the failures of the government, which is the typical way that the Biden administration works.
00:33:22.000 Meanwhile, all the talk about the Biden sort of economic comeback, it turns out that that's largely in red states.
00:33:29.000 The editorial board of the Wall Street Journal points out President Biden will never admit it, but he has Republican-led states to thank for the resilient U.S.
00:33:35.000 economy and labor market.
00:33:36.000 Witness how an earnings surge in right-leaning states is helping compensate for sluggish growth in progressive ones.
00:33:41.000 New state personal income data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis highlights how aggregate worker and proprietor earnings in red states grew significantly more in the last year than in the blues.
00:33:49.000 The disparity owes to GOP-led states adding more jobs, including in higher-paying industries like tech and finance, along with faster-growing wages.
00:33:57.000 Earnings nationwide rose 5.4% on average between the first quarters of 2022 and 2023, but way less in New York, California, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maryland, and Illinois.
00:34:09.000 Meanwhile, earnings in the same period surged in North Dakota, almost 10%, New Mexico, Nevada, Florida, Nebraska, Hawaii, South Carolina, Alaska, and Texas.
00:34:18.000 So some of those states, Hawaii, Florida, Nevada, that's tourism resurgence.
00:34:22.000 Some of those states, New Mexico, North Carolina, Alaska, that could be energy.
00:34:26.000 But one of the other things that's happening is that the southern states are gaining in economic credibility and content.
00:34:34.000 Okay, meanwhile, Donald Trump is leading in the polls by leaps and bounds.
00:34:38.000 He apparently is not going to participate.
00:34:40.000 In a town hall event that is going to take place at the Leadership Summit this Friday.
00:34:46.000 The lineup is going to be Tim Scott, Asa Hutchinson, Mike Pence, Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Ron DeSantis.
00:34:51.000 And they're going to be moderated by Tucker Carlson, so it should definitely be worth the watch.
00:34:55.000 But Donald Trump is not going to participate, even with Tucker moderating, which is kind of a shocker.
00:35:00.000 It would be nice if at some point he actually, you know, Yes, he has an overwhelming lead at this point.
00:35:08.000 I understand the tactical idea that he is not going to debate the other candidates.
00:35:11.000 But as a Republican voter, I would certainly like to see him ask questions.
00:35:14.000 I'd like to see him ask some questions.
00:35:16.000 He actually hurt himself pretty badly yesterday in Iowa.
00:35:19.000 He got angry at Iowa's governor.
00:35:21.000 And then he proceeded to tweet out, or truth out, quote, I love Iowa, protected and expanded ethanol,
00:35:27.000 got $28 billion from China for our great farmers, and ended the estate's death tax on farms,
00:35:31.000 made the best trade deals in history, introduced the world to our farmers,
00:35:34.000 and kept Iowa's first in the nation status.
00:35:36.000 I opened up the governor position for Kim Reynolds, and when she fell behind, I endorsed her,
00:35:39.000 did big rallies, and she won.
00:35:41.000 Now she wants to remain neutral.
00:35:42.000 I don't invite her to events.
00:35:43.000 De-sanctus, down 45 points.
00:35:46.000 So he's ripping on the very popular governor of Iowa, who his endorsement did not put over the top in Iowa.
00:35:51.000 Iowa's a very red state now.
00:35:53.000 But he's ripping on her.
00:35:54.000 It turns out that that is actually a pretty bad idea, because many of the defenders,
00:36:00.000 Well, that's it for now.
00:36:01.000 of Kim Reynolds in Iowa are now coming out of the woodwork to announce that they are not
00:36:05.000 supporting Donald Trump. That would include Bob Vander Plaats, who's a big donor and a big Iowa
00:36:10.000 political force. So he is stepping on himself a little bit in Iowa, is the former president
00:36:16.000 of the United States. As I said yesterday, he's still the front runner. Could he screw it up for
00:36:21.000 He absolutely could.
00:36:22.000 Meanwhile, an amazing story out of California.
00:36:25.000 Apparently, the California Reparations Task Force that is moving ahead with this idea that they're going to spend billions and billions of dollars to basically just pay black citizens of the state of California, they're now asking the Democrat-controlled state legislature to eliminate all interest on past due child support, as well as any back child support debt for black residents of the state.
00:36:44.000 So now, if a black dad knocks up a lady and abandons her, then the state of California would like to alleviate that debt on the basis of slavery and Jim Crow.
00:36:56.000 That seems like a terrible practice.
00:36:59.000 If you would like to, you know, incentivize people to have babies and then ditch them and then not pay mom, this seems like a pretty good way to do it.
00:37:05.000 In a final report released last week according to Fox News, the group claimed discriminatory laws have torn African-American families apart and that one effect of that is the harms caused by the disproportionate amounts of African-Americans who are burdened with child support debt.
00:37:18.000 Oh, it was discriminatory laws that made a 25-year-old dude knock up a 23-year-old lady and then leave her and not pay his child support.
00:37:27.000 That was slavery, you see.
00:37:29.000 You see, a man who was born in 2000, probably it's because of slavery, which ended in the United States in 1865.
00:37:35.000 It's probably because of that.
00:37:38.000 That the dude in 2000, who was born in 2000 and knocked up a lady last year, ought to be alleviated of his child support obligations.
00:37:45.000 You're not talking about the soft bigotry of low expectations.
00:37:48.000 It's not even soft bigotry, it's just hard bigotry.
00:37:49.000 You're talking about people who have no agency.
00:37:52.000 Pretending that you have no agency to, you know, take care of your own children in 2023 because of the legacy of Jim Crow, which ended formally in the United States in the mid-1960s, and slavery, which ended in the United States in the 1860s.
00:38:03.000 That's just pathetic.
00:38:05.000 The nearly 1,100-page document stated that black Californians represent a far larger percentage of those who owe child support debt than their proportion of the state's population.
00:38:13.000 Again, this is the equity nonsense.
00:38:14.000 That if black people represent a higher percentage of single dads than, say, Asian Americans, it must be because of racism and not because of anything else.
00:38:23.000 It also claimed that the 10% interest the state charges on back child support hinders their ability to finance further education, attend job training, find employment, and maintain housing because of the legal consequences of not paying such debt.
00:38:33.000 You know, there's a solution to paying the debt.
00:38:35.000 And that is pay up to the mommy of your baby.
00:38:38.000 This isn't all that tough.
00:38:40.000 But again, bad behavior subsidized by the California government is the way they are doing things over there.
00:38:45.000 Speaking of which, LA recently reinstated their zero bail policy that went back into effect in late May.
00:38:53.000 For both the city and county of Los Angeles.
00:38:55.000 Under the policy, the LAPD and L.A.
00:38:56.000 County Sheriff's Department cannot require a cash bail for some arrested people before their arraignment.
00:39:02.000 So this means that they are just allowing people to walk out of jail scot-free, essentially.
00:39:07.000 Even 50 cents is like, guys, we're toast.
00:39:10.000 He tweeted out, L.A.
00:39:11.000 is finished.
00:39:12.000 Watch how bad it gets out there.
00:39:13.000 Shaking my head.
00:39:15.000 Yeah, that would be correct.
00:39:17.000 Again, it is amazing that the city of Los Angeles is now pursuing exactly the same bad bail policy that ruined the city of New York.
00:39:23.000 But this is the way left-wing governance goes.
00:39:26.000 The good news is that over in Portland, they've decided that they are going to essentially save drug addicts by providing them snorting kits.
00:39:33.000 Quote, Portland homeless drug addicts, according to Jason Rantz, are being enabled with snorting kits, which allow them to snort drugs rather than use needles.
00:39:41.000 It's part of a so-called harm reduction strategy that encourages drug addiction.
00:39:45.000 The Multnomah County Health Department announced its new initiative on a Friday, hoping few would notice.
00:39:48.000 The plan is to provide addicts with tools that cut down on potentially harmful bacteria through sharing or reusing certain drug paraphernalia.
00:39:55.000 Snorting at kits typically include straws, plastic razors, and something to use as flat surfaces to make snorting drugs easier to accomplish.
00:40:03.000 In other news, Hunter Biden has announced his relocation to the city of Portland.
00:40:07.000 That's exciting stuff.
00:40:09.000 Advocates of this approach argue it's a way to push drug addicts away from dangerous intravenous drug use, where blood-borne illness can more easily spread.
00:40:17.000 So, they're now actually encouraging people to snort drugs so that they don't shoot up the drugs.
00:40:22.000 Meanwhile, over in New York, where they've done an amazing job with their drug problem, including just, you know, leaving people on the streets to die, the New York Post reports that the flesh-rotting animal tranquilizer killing unsuspecting users nationwide has significantly infiltrated drug mills in the Bronx, leading one expert to call New York City's current drug supply its most dangerous ever.
00:40:39.000 The animal sedative, xylosine, known as Trank, arrives in the borough via box truck after being smuggled across the southwest U.S.
00:40:45.000 border or through California-New York City, special prosecutor Bridget Brennan told The Post.
00:40:50.000 It's then cut into other drugs, including fentanyl, heroin, meth, and cocaine, at packaging mills, many near the Bronx Zoo.
00:40:56.000 From there, the dangerous drugs are distributed throughout the city and the entire Northeast, leaving Bronx neighborhoods like Melrose, Bathgate, and Morris Heights especially ravaged, according to the data.
00:41:04.000 Brennan said overall, our black market drug supply in the city is probably the most dangerous that I've ever seen.
00:41:09.000 People who believe they're buying one drug may well get another drug they have no tolerance for whatsoever.
00:41:13.000 Xylosine is certainly a sad part of that story.
00:41:17.000 Users of xylosine often develop rotting flesh and then require amputation.
00:41:22.000 So, good times in New York City.
00:41:23.000 More than 3,100 people died of drug overdoses in New York City just last year.
00:41:28.000 That's insane.
00:41:30.000 3,100 people died of drug overdoses in New York City just last year.
00:41:33.000 The governance of the left, peerless, absolutely matchlessly good.
00:41:37.000 Okay, time for some things I like and then some things that I hate.
00:41:41.000 So, things that I like today.
00:41:43.000 Despite the media's essentially giant blackout on On Sound of Freedom.
00:41:49.000 Sound of Freedom is just raking it in at the box office.
00:41:52.000 First of all, it's become a must-watch for pretty much anybody who considers themselves conservative because it is a very good movie.
00:41:57.000 Also because Jim Caviezel has the luster of playing Jesus in Passion of the Christ.
00:42:02.000 The movie apparently is really, really good.
00:42:04.000 And not only that, the media have decided that they don't like it.
00:42:08.000 So members of the media have been suggesting it's a QAnon movie, which is insane considering that the entire movie is about real-life attempts to fight sex trafficking.
00:42:16.000 Sound of Freedom opened last Thursday, according to Variety, generating a mighty $14.2 million on the Independence Day holiday.
00:42:21.000 It then picked up another $18.2 million between Friday and Sunday, enough to place third on the domestic box office charts behind Insidious, Red Door, and Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny.
00:42:32.000 It's only playing in 2,850 North American theaters.
00:42:35.000 That's much smaller than Insidious and Indiana Jones as well.
00:42:39.000 It's an incredible showing for Sound of Freedom.
00:42:43.000 It's one of the biggest openings in recent times for a faith-based film, according to Comscore.
00:42:49.000 Hollywood rarely backs films that are geared toward this particular demographic, but people do show up for it, specifically because there is a shortage in this particular area.
00:42:58.000 So, pretty amazing stuff from Jim Caviezel and company.
00:43:04.000 The attempt by the press to treat this as QAnon stuff.
00:43:08.000 Rolling Stone called it a QAnon-tinged thriller.
00:43:10.000 One that is, quote, designed to appeal to the conscience of a conspiracy-addled boomer.
00:43:14.000 That's all insane.
00:43:15.000 Simply because a movie actually takes on sex trafficking of children doesn't make the movie a QAnon thriller.
00:43:20.000 I just mean, it seems like you guys are a little soft on sex trafficking when you get uptight with this sort of stuff, to be honest with you.
00:43:24.000 Meanwhile, in other things that I like, Dana White, who's the head of UFC, he was accused of racism for scheduling fights in a particular way.
00:43:32.000 Here was his response.
00:43:34.000 The tension between those two and kind of the racial undertones and all those things.
00:43:38.000 What were the racial undertones?
00:43:40.000 Driggett says he's the real African fighter and so, you know, Israel dropped some n-words in there tonight.
00:43:47.000 So what was the racial?
00:43:49.000 Who did?
00:43:49.000 Who dropped the racial?
00:43:51.000 Israel was saying over and over, yeah.
00:43:54.000 He's being black?
00:43:55.000 50 n-bombs.
00:43:56.000 Okay, he's black.
00:43:58.000 Who gives a s***?
00:43:59.000 I was going to say, so you don't have any concern about the way the buildup, the tension between those two?
00:44:04.000 I could care less.
00:44:05.000 This is the fight business.
00:44:07.000 Is there a lot of sign you can say whatever you want to say?
00:44:09.000 Who gives a ****?
00:44:10.000 Why, are people **** about that?
00:44:12.000 Some people.
00:44:12.000 Of course they are.
00:44:13.000 Oh, **** me.
00:44:14.000 Alright, got it.
00:44:15.000 Yeah.
00:44:16.000 Too **** bad.
00:44:17.000 Alright.
00:44:18.000 Yeah.
00:44:20.000 This is the proper attitude to stupid questions about this sort of stuff.
00:44:23.000 And by the way, to pretend that race has not played a role in boxing before, I mean, the kind of stuff that Muhammad Ali used to say about Joe Frazier was brutal and awful, and yes, racist, and no one cared about any of that, because that is indeed the fight business.
00:44:35.000 Good for Dana White for suggesting that he doesn't care, because frankly, no one really cares.
00:44:39.000 Okay, time for a quick thing that I hate.
00:44:46.000 Okay, so there's an op comic, which I suppose is like an opinion comic, over at the Los Angeles Time called, What If Abortion Were Self-Defense?
00:44:53.000 And I wanted to analyze this for a moment, because it really is one of the dumbest things that I've ever seen in my entire life.
00:44:58.000 So, this comic shows, for those who can't see, a chart Of maternal mortality.
00:45:04.000 Quote, in the U.S., pregnant people die of pregnancy-related causes at a higher rate than police die in the line of duty.
00:45:09.000 This piece, again, titled, What If Abortion Were Self-Defense?
00:45:12.000 So the idea is that people who are pregnant are at a higher risk than people who are police officers.
00:45:18.000 Okay, so number one, police officers are being targeted by criminals.
00:45:23.000 Women who die are not being targeted by their babies.
00:45:27.000 Women who die with relation to maternal mortality very often have other conditions that are exacerbated by pregnancy.
00:45:33.000 Maternal mortality tends to congregate in women who have previous medical conditions, who have high levels of obesity, for example.
00:45:43.000 The actual rate, I should mention here, of maternal mortality is one woman per 3,040 live births dies of maternity-related causes.
00:45:52.000 Okay, but notice where this goes next.
00:45:53.000 Quote, the U.S.
00:45:54.000 has the highest maternal mortality rate of any developed nation and is the only developed nation in which maternal mortality is rising.
00:45:59.000 Okay, so there's a reason for that.
00:46:00.000 The reason is that the United States actually measures births differently and maternal mortality differently.
00:46:05.000 So in European countries, they just don't count certain births as births.
00:46:10.000 Like if a baby dies very quickly, they don't count it as a maternal mortality.
00:46:14.000 There's an actual difference in the counting statistics with regards to maternal mortality in the United States as opposed to other places.
00:46:20.000 And then they suggest, quote, this danger will only worsen in a post Roe versus Wade
00:46:24.000 America.
00:46:25.000 Yes, unless you forcibly abort or have many, many, many abortions
00:46:28.000 all throughout American society.
00:46:30.000 The maternal mortality rate in states that have banned abortion
00:46:33.000 is up to three times higher than in states that support abortion acts.
00:46:36.000 Now the reason for that is not because abortion is quote-unquote saving lives.
00:46:42.000 The reason for that is actually in the prior slide.
00:46:44.000 It says the crisis is even starker for black Americans whose maternal mortality rate is nearly three times that of white Americans.
00:46:48.000 That's been blamed on American racism.
00:46:50.000 It really has more to do with underlying causes.
00:46:52.000 If you look at Europe, Europe has exactly the same sort of disparity between black maternal mortality and non-black maternal mortality.
00:47:00.000 This op-ed continues.
00:47:01.000 Anti-abortion advocates argue that an embryo should be accorded all the rights of a human being.
00:47:05.000 If one accepts this argument, given the deadly risks, does a pregnant person not have a right to self-defense against someone threatening their safety?
00:47:12.000 Here's where this thing goes wildly off the rails.
00:47:15.000 Okay, so we'll continue the argument and then I'll explain how stupid this is.
00:47:18.000 Quote, And then it shows a bunch of presumed Republicans who are carrying guns.
00:47:21.000 Fetishized it, even.
00:47:23.000 And then it shows a bunch of presumed Republicans who are carrying guns, fetishized it even.
00:47:28.000 And then it says, imagine if a person seeking an abortion were treated like a cop who had killed
00:47:32.000 someone. Quote, I feared for my safety. She's a woman holding her belly saying, I feared for my
00:47:36.000 safety. And then everybody else says to this woman, it's okay.
00:47:41.000 You were just defending yourself.
00:47:42.000 You did what you had to do.
00:47:43.000 Your life matters.
00:47:44.000 And one of the people defending this woman is, of course, a person wearing a cross.
00:47:49.000 So the basic idea here is that we should treat unborn fetuses like criminals.
00:47:54.000 Now, I noticed a difference.
00:47:55.000 Criminals threaten police officers on the regular, which is why police officers have to shoot them.
00:48:01.000 Again, I will mention that stat.
00:48:03.000 For every 3,040 live births in the United States, there's one case of maternity-related death.
00:48:11.000 For every 3,040 live births.
00:48:13.000 So, the suggestion by this op-ed writer is that every woman should be able to kill her baby at any time without presenting any evidence that the baby was a threat to her, because one out of every 3,040 live births may end in maternal mortality.
00:48:27.000 So, the actual argument that this moron is making is that if police officers, in every single traffic stop, just shot the person they were stopping, because whether they're a risk or not, that would be perfectly okay with the American public.
00:48:41.000 That's the actual equivalent.
00:48:42.000 The analogy does not work at all.
00:48:44.000 Police officers shoot people when they are actively threatened.
00:48:46.000 You know when pro-life people say that abortion could be appropriate?
00:48:50.000 When mom's life is threatened.
00:48:51.000 We don't actually argue this one.
00:48:53.000 When the mom's life is actually threatened, then it is a form of quote-unquote self-defense.
00:48:57.000 In fact, if you look in the Talmud, it's literally called this.
00:48:59.000 In the Talmud.
00:49:01.000 And the actual terminology that is utilized with regard to a baby that threatens mom's life is the terminology Rodayf, meaning a pursuer, like a person who's trying to attack and kill you.
00:49:11.000 It's one of the justifications for abortion in such a case in the Talmud.
00:49:15.000 But all pro-life people that I've ever heard of believe that if mom's life is in danger, abortion may be appropriate to save mom's life.
00:49:22.000 But that's not what this person is arguing.
00:49:23.000 This person is arguing we need abortion on demand across the country because all babies are inherently a threat to mom.
00:49:30.000 Which is totally wild and insane.
00:49:32.000 Honestly, I can't believe the LA Times published this garbage, except that I can.
00:49:37.000 Okay, final thing that I hate today.
00:49:39.000 So, I have to admit that I laughed really hard at Chuck Schumer suggesting that it's time for the FDA to probe Prime Energy Drink because it has lots of caffeine.
00:49:48.000 Here's Chuck Schumer, the Senate Majority Leader, God help us all, talking about the evils of Prime.
00:49:54.000 What is specifically targeted at kids but has more caffeine than a cup of coffee?
