00:01:12.000 Kash Patel seems poised to become FBI director, but there is a major effort by the left to try and stop him and thwart him.
00:01:21.000 Who is Kash Patel?
00:01:22.000 Let's talk to somebody who worked with him closely in the first Trump administration.
00:01:26.000 Robert O'Brien, former National Security Advisor Donald Trump, joins us.
00:01:30.000 Robert, great to see you again.
00:01:32.000 Thank you for the time.
00:01:32.000 Robert, who is Kash Patel and is Kash qualified to be FBI director?
00:01:36.000 Well, it's great to be with you, Charlie.
00:01:37.000 Thank you, and thanks for all the work you did.
00:01:39.000 I haven't stopped smiling since the election, and you were a big part of that.
00:01:43.000 I saw you at all the rallies, and you and your whole team just turned out millions of voters for the president, so thank you.
00:01:50.000 And that led to Kash Patel being nominated as FBI Director.
00:01:56.000 There's a character of Kash Patel that the left has tried to portray, which just isn't true.
00:02:01.000 And I can tell you, Kash worked for me.
00:02:03.000 He was my Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council for two years.
00:02:09.000 He did a great job, brought hostages home, helped us get al-Baghdadi, the mastermind of ISIS who killed Kayla Mueller and so many other Americans, and James Sheffoli and others.
00:02:21.000 He's a highly qualified, I don't want to say young man now, we're all getting older, but he's one of the most qualified people ever to be nominated as FBI director.
00:02:31.000 There's this myth out there that he's unqualified.
00:02:35.000 Cash Patel is a public defender.
00:02:36.000 He was on the criminal defense side of it.
00:02:39.000 You'd think Democrats would like that, that the president has nominated someone who's got actual criminal defense experience.
00:02:45.000 He's a prosecutor.
00:02:46.000 He was at the NSC. He ran counterterrorism for us.
00:02:50.000 He got Baghdad.
00:02:50.000 He was personally involved in rescuing hostages from abroad.
00:02:56.000 Then he went to the DNI and worked for Rick Grinnell, his chief of staff.
00:03:01.000 And then he went over to the Pentagon at the end of the administration and worked for Chris Miller.
00:03:05.000 So here's a guy who's got prosecutorial experience, defense experience, house intelligence experience under Devin Nunes, NSC experience, running counter-terrorism, and DOD and ODNI experience.
00:03:19.000 So he's a superbly qualified man to take this job, and I'm really excited the president nominated him.
00:03:25.000 What was he like to work with?
00:03:26.000 Mission-focused, professional, capable.
00:03:29.000 Describe more about some of the intimate dealings with Kash Patel.
00:03:32.000 Yeah, it's all those things, Charlie.
00:03:34.000 But let me tell you a story that not all people don't know.
00:03:37.000 Kash wouldn't tell because he's too modest.
00:03:40.000 And Kash has never been accused of being modest.
00:03:43.000 But in this sense, he really is.
00:03:45.000 We had a hostage named Austin Tice.
00:03:47.000 And unfortunately, he's still hostage in Syria.
00:03:50.000 And we believe the Syrian regime has him.
00:03:52.000 He's a former Marine reporter.
00:03:55.000 It was taken 12 years ago.
00:03:57.000 And one of the things that, when I was a hostage envoy before I became National Security Advisor, we heard from the Syrians that they wanted a senior U.S. official to come negotiate with them in Damascus.
00:04:06.000 But we had a policy of not sending U.S. officials there for various reasons, one of which was security.
00:04:11.000 There was no real easy way to get to Damascus.
00:04:14.000 You had to drive over land for Beirut.
00:04:16.000 You had to get in a car and go across the Syrian desert.
00:04:19.000 In other words, Al-Qaeda was there, ISIS was there, the Syrian regime was there.
00:04:25.000 And I tried to get into Syria as a hostage envoy.
00:04:28.000 I couldn't do it.
00:04:28.000 The Syrians wouldn't have me.
00:04:30.000 But then when I was National Security Advisor, the Syrians said, okay, send in an official.
00:04:34.000 And we sent Kash Patel and Roger Carstens, our hostage envoy.
00:04:38.000 Those guys got in an SUV in Beirut, and they drove across that very dangerous, brutal landscape, and they got to Damascus.
00:04:46.000 They could have been taken by the regime, they could have been taken hostage by al-Qaeda, by al-Nusra, any of these bad actors that are in the region, and they negotiated to get Austin out.
00:04:56.000 Now, unfortunately, we didn't get Austin home.
00:04:59.000 But the mission was so dangerous that Secretary Pompeo did not want them to go, and up until the last minute was opposed to it.
00:05:06.000 But Cash went to the president and said, look, we've got to get this kid out.
00:05:09.000 He's an American.
00:05:11.000 It may or may not work, but we've got to take every opportunity we can to free him.
00:05:15.000 And so he went on that dangerous mission at personal risk.
00:05:20.000 Never talked about it, never made a big deal about it, but it was something that always impressed the heck out of me.
00:05:25.000 I can tell you, when I heard it was back in Beirut and back at our embassy, I was, you know, I got called in the middle of the night and I was told he was back safely, and Roger, his compatriot, were back safely.
00:05:35.000 I was so thrilled, but when people tell me about Kash Patel and who Kash Patel is, I want to look at them and say, hey, why don't you do what Kash Patel did and go into Syria and negotiate with Bashar al-Assad's bad guys and drive through Indian country to get there, and then tell me about Kash Patel.
00:05:54.000 That is a very powerful story.
00:05:56.000 Why do you think that there is so much institutional backlash against Cash Patel?
00:06:02.000 Let me just play a little bit of the sampling here.
00:06:05.000 I mean, there's so much.
00:06:06.000 It's just almost hard to believe.
00:06:09.000 There's montage after montage.
00:06:11.000 Let's go to this one.
00:06:13.000 Play cut 13. Yeah, I think, though, when you put, like, a partisan hack in place of the FBI, that doesn't restore faith with the general American public, not just the people who voted for Donald Trump, but the people that he has to represent, which are all Americans.
00:06:27.000 This is kind of the authoritarian approach of come in, disrupt, without a real plan forward.
00:06:34.000 We'll see.
00:06:36.000 Let me just play one more here.
00:06:37.000 It's just a repeated narrative.
00:06:39.000 This is Andrew McCabe, who's a criminal, by the way.
00:06:42.000 Play cut three.
00:06:43.000 It's a terrible development for the men and women of the FBI and also for the nation that depends on a highly functioning, professional, independent Federal Bureau of Investigation.
00:06:57.000 The fact that Kash Patel is profoundly unqualified for this job is not even like a matter for debate.
00:07:04.000 The installation, or the nomination, I guess we should say at this point, of Kash Patel's FBI director can only possibly be a plan to disrupt, to dismantle, to distract the FBI, and to possibly use it as a tool for the president's political agenda.
00:07:24.000 Robert, your reaction?
00:07:25.000 That is so rich coming from McCabe.
00:07:29.000 Here's a guy who did more damage to one of the great institutions of America, the FBI, which I believe in.
00:07:35.000 The FBI is one of the things that makes America great.
00:07:38.000 And McCabe and Strzok and Comey, These people ruined the FBI. They turned it into a partisan branch of the Democrat National Committee, the police force of the Democrats.
00:07:48.000 But they were so inept at what they did, they even took down Hillary Clinton by mistake.
00:07:54.000 I mean, these people are terrible.
00:07:56.000 They're untrustworthy.
00:07:57.000 They're liars.
00:07:58.000 And for them to come after someone with integrity like Cash Patel, who's got a better resume by far than McCabe has, it's just an embarrassment.
00:08:07.000 That guy should not be on TV. Yeah, and can you just speak for a second?
00:08:11.000 You were the former National Security Advisor for President Trump.
00:08:15.000 You did a wonderful job.
00:08:16.000 One of your predecessors actually was a victim of an illegal FBI entrapment plot by Peter Strzok from the FBI. Can you speak about that intersection here and remind people, Andy McCabe launched an illegal FBI entrapment plot in the halls of the White House.
00:08:37.000 Please remind our audience of how your predecessor, Michael Flynn, was a target of McCabe's FBI. Yeah, so I was at the State Department at that time as a hostage.
00:08:45.000 I was not the...
00:08:47.000 At the NSC. But what happened is they sent FBI agents over.
00:08:51.000 And General Flynn's a patriot.
00:08:54.000 You're the national security advisor.
00:08:55.000 You'd think the FBI is coming over to brief you.
00:08:57.000 And I think they used a subrefuge of it being a briefing for Flynn.
00:09:01.000 So he went and met with these agents.
00:09:03.000 They entrapped him.
00:09:05.000 He didn't do anything wrong.
00:09:07.000 Then they changed the report later that said he didn't do anything wrong and changed it and said he did lie to him.
00:09:14.000 Totally untrue.
00:09:15.000 He had no lawyer present.
00:09:16.000 In fact, Jim Comey laughed about it later and said how funny it was that he entrapped the National Security Advisor.
00:09:22.000 I mean, can you imagine an FBI director, this guy with the godlike comics, Comey, who destroyed the institution of the FBI? You know, Chris Ray, the current director, is a good man.
00:09:32.000 I mean, he's tried to do his best to clean up the The culture of corruption that Comey put into place, the partisanship that Comey put into place and McCabe and Strzok and these people that just ruined the institution, but he wasn't able to.
00:09:49.000 Comey laughed about getting Mike Flynn to bring charges against Mike Flynn and thought it was funny that they entrapped the National Security Advisor.
00:09:59.000 What a horrible person that is.
00:10:02.000 Even if there was some basis for the crime, to laugh about it is just absurd.
00:10:08.000 So these are not good people.
00:10:10.000 The reason they're so distressed is not because Kaps Patel isn't qualified.
00:10:14.000 They know he's qualified.
00:10:14.000 He's a career government attorney.
00:10:16.000 He had the same jobs they did.
00:10:17.000 He was a senior House staffer.
00:10:20.000 He's a senior White House official.
00:10:22.000 He's a senior Pentagon official.
00:10:23.000 He's more qualified than they are.
00:10:25.000 The reason they're so upset, Charlie, It's because he unrooted the Russiagate hoax.
00:10:31.000 And he's going to come to the FBI and clean out all the partisan crooks and corrupt officials there.
00:10:38.000 Because the rank and file, this is what people need to understand.
00:10:42.000 I saw this when I was a hostage.
00:10:44.000 The rank and file guys are great.
00:10:47.000 It's this corrupt senior management that he's going to clean out and they're scared to death of him.
00:10:52.000 It's the suits, not the boots.
00:10:53.000 The last couple of years have been very tough on people economically.
00:10:59.000 A lot of good folks have gotten into horrible debt just to survive.
00:11:02.000 Some of you are paying 20 to 30 percent on your credit card debt and drowning in those monthly bills.
00:11:07.000 If you own your own home, did you know that refinancing that home can help get you help right now?
00:11:12.000 I can hear it now.
00:11:13.000 But Charlie, I have a three and a half percent rate and I can't refi.
00:11:17.000 Don't be a slave to the rate.
00:11:18.000 Talk to my good friends, Andrew Del Rey and Todd Avakian.
00:11:21.000 Let them crunch the numbers for you and show you.
00:11:23.000 I've used them.
00:11:24.000 They're amazing.
00:11:25.000 I can't say enough good stuff about them.
00:11:26.000 You can consolidate and pay off all your debt, lower your payments, save thousands in interest, and possibly even pay your home off sooner.

00:11:47.000 Cash will be super because he's going to expose the corruption and the partisanship at the top of the FBI. Charlie, we need the FBI to get back to going after crooks and criminals and thugs and cartels and fentanyl pushers.
00:12:02.000 Look, we've had 30,000 Chinese agents come over the border over the last two years.
00:12:07.000 Military-aged males, unaccompanied.
00:12:10.000 Among that number, there's got to be at least half or more of them are spies or saboteurs or People's Liberation Army soldiers.
00:12:18.000 They're running around our country.
00:12:19.000 Who's monitoring them?
00:12:20.000 And instead, we've got FBI agents going to PTA meetings or going to Latin masses where practicing Catholics want to enjoy the Latin mass or going after a Republican presidential candidate and former president.
00:12:33.000 Let's get them off the partisanship and going after GOP activists and parents And have them round up the Chinese spies that have come over our border.
00:12:42.000 I mean, let's get someone like Kash Patel who's going to restore the luster of the FBI and make it the great institution it once was.
00:12:48.000 Yeah, I agree.
00:12:49.000 So, Robert, I want to now just finish our conversation here on the national security threats.
00:12:54.000 You touched on it beautifully.
00:12:55.000 What domestic national security threats are there that the FBI hasn't been focusing on?
00:13:01.000 You mentioned one, Chinese spies.
00:13:03.000 When the FBI is worried about stupid stuff, not national security, list off what some of the priorities should be as you were the national security adviser.
00:13:11.000 Well, look, the number one challenge we have, Charlie, and you know this, and I've talked about it on your show a lot, is the People's Republic of China, the Communist Party, and they've got massive numbers of subpoenage agents here.
00:13:22.000 And they're not just spies in the traditional sense.
00:13:25.000 Some of them are propagandists and they're people that are trying to influence our politics.
00:13:30.000 Definitely anti-Trump, for sure.
00:13:33.000 They've got people who are, you know, agents who are sleeping with the city council people around the country.
00:13:39.000 I mean, it's a bad situation.
00:13:41.000 So that's number one.
00:13:42.000 Number two, we've got a lot of Russians here and we've got to be on top of the Russians and make sure they don't Get the upper hand.
00:13:48.000 But what really worries me are all the jihadis, all the terrorists that have come over.
00:13:52.000 We know we've got people on the terrorist watch list that have come over our open southern border.
00:13:56.000 I mean, that's been a huge domestic national security threat.
00:13:59.000 And when you include the Godaways, we don't even know who is here.
00:14:04.000 I'm terrified of an attack like October 7th that took place in Israel, taking place here.
00:14:10.000 Can you imagine even if you get 10 jihadis who stole deer guns, deer rifles, and handguns out of homes and then descended on a small Midwestern town, the damage that they could do to a town that maybe has one or two sheriffs total population?
00:14:24.000 And so the FBI's got to get out there, and they've got to round these people up.
00:14:27.000 And that's what the FBI should be doing.
00:14:29.000 Leave the PTAs alone, leave Catholic mass alone, and go get the Chinese spies, the Russian spies, and the terrorists who are here.
00:14:38.000 We've got known Hezbollah cells in America.
00:14:40.000 We've got Iranian agents all over the place.
00:14:42.000 There's plenty for the FBI to do that's productive and helps all Americans.
00:14:47.000 They don't need to be a branch of the Democrat National Committee.
00:14:51.000 I totally agree.
00:14:52.000 And I just want to kind of get a final thought here.
00:14:54.000 The world has kind of been melting prior to President Trump's triumphant election.
00:14:59.000 The rise of China, the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, what's happening in the Middle East.
00:15:05.000 Are you confident that President Trump is going to be able to restore deterrence and tranquility to the free world?
00:15:12.000 A hundred percent, Charlie.
00:15:14.000 One of the things President Trump just said, and I've been talking about this since the hostages were taken in Israel, American hostages and Americans killed in the October 7th attack.
00:15:23.000 President Trump came out with a very strong truth social post yesterday saying if the hostages aren't released, you're going to have hell to pay.
00:15:31.000 And the American people aren't going to put up with it.
00:15:33.000 I'm not going to put up with it.
00:15:34.000 Peace through strength works.
00:15:35.000 I mean, this is what people don't understand.
00:15:38.000 Peace through strength isn't about building the most aircraft carriers and having the most number of fighter jets.
00:15:43.000 It's about what American strength, economic strength, military strength, diplomatic strength, cultural strength, it's what that shows to the rest of the world.
00:15:51.000 When America's strong, the world's safe.
00:15:53.000 When America's weak, that's very provocative.
00:15:56.000 You have events like the Ukraine war, you have the attacks on Israel, you have the attacks on Taiwan and the South China Sea by China.
00:16:04.000 But when President Trump was in office, we didn't have these things.
00:16:07.000 We were ending forever wars.
00:16:08.000 We beat ISIS. We had a victory, which was very rare in the Middle East.
00:16:13.000 And we didn't get any new wars because our adversaries knew not to cross the red line for President Trump.
00:16:19.000 And that's coming back.
00:16:21.000 And I'm telling you, the world is pretty excited about what's going to happen on January 20th.
00:16:25.000 I think our enemies are going to fear us once again, and our allies will respect us.
00:16:30.000 Thank you so much, Robert O'Brien.
00:16:31.000 Really appreciate it.
00:16:31.000 Thank you.
00:16:32.000 Hey, thank you, Charlie.
00:16:33.000 Good to be with you.

00:17:54.000 Always great to be with you, Charlie.
00:17:56.000 Thank you.
00:17:56.000 You know, Eric, only you would I just say, Eric, just host the show.
00:18:00.000 So next time you come to Phoenix and I'm not there, you should just host the show for a day.
00:18:05.000 I'd be thrilled.
00:18:07.000 Listen, you mentioned this, Bonhoeffer.
00:18:10.000 I want to be real clear up front.
00:18:11.000 The film is fantastic, but it's not officially based on my book.
00:18:15.000 The people who read my book like 12 years ago said, we've got to make a film on Bonhoeffer.
00:18:21.000 It took 12 years.
00:18:22.000 It's an amazing film.
00:18:24.000 And I'm doing everything I can to get the word out.
00:18:27.000 Because you know how it is.
00:18:29.000 Like, people are distracted.
00:18:31.000 This is an opportunity.
00:18:33.000 It's a faith-based film.
00:18:35.000 It's a film that points to God about a hero.
00:18:40.000 It's so rare that you get a film like this, you know?
00:18:44.000 And it's like a big film, like with major Hollywood players who've put it together.
00:18:48.000 So I'm just screaming to the world, you gotta see the film.
00:18:52.000 And you gotta see it like this week, because it's been out like three weeks already.
00:18:55.000 Well, let's play the trailer then.
00:18:56.000 Let's play this.
00:18:57.000 It's Cut 56. This is the Bonhoeffer film.
00:19:00.000 Angel Studios helps deliver it.
00:19:02.000 Play Cut 56. You will go to England as our spy.
00:19:08.000 Churchill sees Germany as a whole.
00:19:12.000 He's afraid that a bomb traced to England would be invasion or worse.
00:19:16.000 Invasion!
00:19:18.000 Invasion!
00:19:18.000 My country was invaded from within.
00:19:23.000 And the people bowed and prayed To the beyond God they lay
00:19:29.000 I hear you.
00:19:59.000 I'm ready to meet my destiny.
00:20:08.000 I'm ready to meet my destiny.
00:20:10.000 I'm a lose.
00:20:15.000 So apparently, I don't know, there was another group called Disturbed that remade the Simon and Garfunkel song.
00:20:21.000 Anyway, I love Simon and Garfunkel.
00:20:23.000 So that's a very powerful trailer, Eric.
00:20:27.000 For those that don't know, why is Bonhoeffer one of the most heroic and underappreciated figures of not just the 20th century, but of Western civilization?
00:20:39.000 Yeah, that's exactly what I would say, Charlie.
00:20:42.000 I'll tell you, a lot of people have heard of Bonhoeffer.
00:20:46.000 A lot of people haven't heard of Bonhoeffer.
00:20:48.000 But when I wrote my book, it came out in 2010.
00:20:51.000 I had no clue how the story would speak to people.
00:20:57.000 I mean, the book changed my life.
00:21:00.000 It sold over a million copies.
00:21:01.000 You said it was translated into 20 languages.
00:21:03.000 There's something about his story that is unique.
00:21:07.000 You can't really think of a story quite like it.
00:21:11.000 And when I wrote the book, I was myself astonished because I kind of knew the basics, but I had no idea what I would uncover.
00:21:16.000 where what I uncovered is amazing.
00:21:19.000 And you cannot really fail to be inspired by his story.
00:21:23.000 That's to me why it's so powerful is that anybody who comes in contact with it, you will be inspired to be like him and to want to stand up against evil and to put aside your dead religious faith and to live out your faith heroically in the real world.
00:21:38.000 That was Bonhoeffer's central message.
00:21:41.000 And so, you know, that's all through my book.
00:21:44.000 But to see it, to see his story as a film, it's unbelievable.
00:21:49.000 I mean, the nutshell version, people say to me, what's it about?
00:21:53.000 Well, Bonhoeffer is a German pastor who, because of his faith in Jesus, spoke up for the Jews, spoke against Adolf Hitler, and called the church of his day to stand up politically.
00:22:09.000 That's why the whole movie, the whole story is a message for today.
00:22:15.000 It's as if, I mean, anybody who watches it, you're going to see present events in the film.
00:22:20.000 You're going to say, this is happening now.
00:22:22.000 That's what people said when they read my book.
00:22:24.000 It's an extraordinary story, specifically because it speaks to where we are now.
00:22:28.000 And because you partnered with us in making the film Letter to the American Church, that spells out The Bonhoeffer story is happening now.
00:22:38.000 And the question is, will we get it right?
00:22:39.000 And, you know, it's one thing if most of us get it right.
00:22:43.000 But what about everybody?
00:22:44.000 I mean, I think about all the people that they don't know the Bonhoeffer story or they kind of think like, well, you know, I just go to church and we just preach the gospel.
00:22:52.000 We preach the Bible.
00:22:53.000 No, no, no.
00:22:54.000 The story of Bonhoeffer makes clear that the Bible calls us to stand in the face of evil, not just to be religious, not just to do church.
00:23:03.000 And to see it summed up in a person's life and to see Bonhoeffer, brilliant as he was, he wasn't merely brilliant.
00:23:10.000 He lived out what he professed to believe.
00:23:13.000 He actually lived it out.
00:23:15.000 So he's a model for every Christian today.
00:23:19.000 And it's so powerful.
00:23:21.000 But the fact that they made a mainstream film, this is not a cheesy Christian film made by people who got laid off from the Hallmark Channel.
00:23:29.000 This is a major, major film with people that have worked closely with Mel Gibson, with Clint Eastwood, on and on and on.
00:23:37.000 It's spectacularly shot, brilliantly acted.
00:23:40.000 It's a major cultural moment.
00:23:43.000 And I say this because I think sometimes we forget They don't make films like this.
00:23:48.000 The last one I can remember was Chariots of Fire, which is 40 years ago.
00:23:53.000 They haven't made films like this.
00:23:55.000 They don't make films like this.
00:23:56.000 It's an opportunity for a cultural shift where people would say, we want films like that.
00:24:01.000 So there's tons of advertisements for Wicked and Gladiator and whatever else.
00:24:06.000 Folks, you gotta see this film, and it's an evangelistic opportunity.
00:24:10.000 You can bring anybody who doesn't agree with you politically or theologically and just say, hey, it's a great film.
00:24:15.000 I guarantee you they'll love it.
00:24:17.000 Variety Magazine.
00:24:19.000 Variety magazine raved about the film.
00:24:21.000 Like, mainstream people are saying, this is a great film.
00:24:24.000 What's the last time a mainstream film points to God?
00:24:28.000 I mean, it's kind of unbelievable.
00:24:30.000 And of course, I gotta mention, the lunatic progressive Christians have written all these articles, like, denouncing the film, denouncing me, denouncing...
00:24:41.000 Like, it's just...
00:24:43.000 It is really, if you need proof that people are crazy, like this film appeals to everybody.
00:24:49.000 If you take your liberal friends, they will love the film.
00:24:52.000 There's no doubt about it.
00:24:53.000 But, you know, they have to just say things about Christian nationalism, whatever.
00:24:57.000 No one seeing the film is going to think about any of that stuff.
00:25:00.000 It's just a great film.
00:25:01.000 But the lunatics on the left, including Christianity Today, Which has gone over to the dark side, totally funded by Soros.
00:25:09.000 They denounced it.
00:25:10.000 It's kind of bizarre.
00:25:12.000 It's kind of like denouncing a beautiful tree.
00:25:15.000 What problem could you have?
00:25:17.000 Everybody just looks and sees something wonderful.
00:25:19.000 So it's kind of crazy.
00:25:21.000 But I had to mention that because they've just been saying vicious things.
00:25:25.000 It kind of blows my mind, actually.
00:25:27.000 As crazy as things are, I never thought that they would do that.
00:25:30.000 But many of them have done that.
00:25:31.000 Yeah, and so Eric, we're coming out of an election season where we wish the church would have done more.
00:25:37.000 But some pastors did speak out and they deserve credit.
00:25:41.000 But the fight is far from over.
00:25:44.000 And the Bonhoeffer courage was really won when he was in the resistance and did not control political power.
00:25:52.000 And I think these last couple of years under the Biden regime, Bonhoeffer spoke to us in a very personal way to not give up and to rally the church.
00:26:00.000 However, if we're honest though, Eric, just because we won an election does not mean that we have a spiritual majority amongst the people of the country.
00:26:08.000 Can you speak to that?
00:26:09.000 Oh my gosh.
00:26:10.000 Look, Charlie, this is why I love you because what you just said, I'm saying it everywhere I go.
00:26:16.000 There are tons and tons and tons of Christians who do not understand that your faith requires you to act heroically, that your faith requires you to put your faith into action.
00:26:28.000 And if you don't, I believe God looks at that and says, well then, obviously you don't have faith.
00:26:34.000 You think you're saved by faith?
00:26:36.000 Good.
00:26:36.000 Do you have faith?
00:26:37.000 If you're not acting heroically, if you're not putting your life on the line for beautiful things, for liberty, for truth, if you're not doing that, why do you claim to have faith?
00:26:48.000 And there are many people in churches where the pastors are basically, they're not preaching this Bonhoeffer message.
00:26:55.000 They're preaching this, you know, it's kind of like this thin gruel.
00:27:00.000 It's about evangelism.
00:27:01.000 It's about sharing the love of Christ.
00:27:02.000 The love of Christ is obvious when you lay your life on the line, when you lay your career on the line, when you stick your neck out for truth.
00:27:11.000 That's when people see something compelling and beautiful, And they think there is truth.
00:27:16.000 There is goodness and beauty in the world.
00:27:18.000 And I see it in people who live that out.
00:27:21.000 Bonhoeffer, to me, he's the ultimate example of that.
00:27:23.000 And so there's so many Christians and so many churches that I would not darken their door.
00:27:29.000 I mean, a few years ago, I would have thought, oh yeah, we're on the same page.
00:27:31.000 And I realized, no, we're not on the same page.
00:27:34.000 And so to me, part of the Bonhoeffer story's power is to wake up people.
00:27:38.000 I mean, by the grace of God, Only we won this election.
00:27:43.000 By the grace of God, Donald Trump is not dead, and this nation is not dead.
00:27:48.000 God saved Donald Trump, and God saved this nation.
00:27:52.000 We didn't deserve to be saved, but he saved us for his purposes in history, and he wants Christians to be at the center of that, not to be peripheral.
00:28:02.000 But here's the thing.
00:28:03.000 If Christians do not step up, and again, I hope this film will inspire people, But if they don't step up, God sometimes does his best work outside the church.
00:28:12.000 And he can find people, don't tick all the theological boxes.
00:28:16.000 Believe me, God doesn't care.
00:28:18.000 He looks at the heart.
00:28:19.000 And so I just think we're in an amazing moment in history right now.
00:28:24.000 We have an opportunity in the culture.
00:28:26.000 I mean, even the film is just an example to me.
00:28:28.000 Like, when would we see a film like this?
00:28:30.000 This is an amazing opportunity.
00:28:32.000 We want to shift the whole culture, not just politics.
00:28:35.000 Everything.
00:28:36.000 Just really quick, Eric, remind people of the call to action again, please.
00:28:40.000 Well, the call to action is people need to see the film this week.
00:28:43.000 It's going to go out of theaters.
00:28:44.000 It's been in 1,800 theaters.
00:28:46.000 That goes away.
00:28:47.000 The theaters, they want to make money.
00:28:48.000 They'll put in a Disney film.
00:28:50.000 People need to see the film this week.
00:28:52.000 It's not been promoted well, and you've got these sniping liberals saying nasty things about it.
00:28:57.000 So anybody, please see the film this week.
00:29:00.000 Tell your friends.

00:30:19.000 Eric, we have not had a chance to do a show together since President Trump's victory.
00:30:24.000 Can you just reflect on what you've always said?
00:30:27.000 You've said this clearly and under the really nasty treatment by the media and some in the church.
00:30:33.000 You have said, and I've agreed, that God has his hand on Donald Trump.
00:30:37.000 Yeah, first of all, here's what anybody says.
00:30:40.000 The fact is that there are people that I know who have said that, and I, you know, I don't say this lightly, like when somebody speaks prophetically or says God said, I take that very seriously, because if God didn't say, then you should shut up.
00:30:57.000 But there are people I know who hear from God, and to some extent I do, and you try to see what is God saying.
00:31:07.000 Some people kind of hear directly, but I will just say bluntly, Donald Trump, a flawed vessel, a human being like you, like me, has been prepared by God for this moment in history.
00:31:22.000 He is outrageously talented and gifted.
00:31:27.000 And God has prepared him for this moment, and not just that, but I believe has his hand on him.
00:31:33.000 I believe has anointed him to do God's work.
00:31:37.000 And so that's not really a religious thing, to do God's work, to do good, to do right, to do...
00:31:42.000 I have a keen sense of that, and I have known that for some time.
00:31:48.000 And I also know, Charlie, and you know, we're in a war.
00:31:51.000 It's a spiritual war.
00:31:53.000 It's a war on every level, but at its heart, it's spiritual.
00:31:56.000 It's between good and evil.
00:31:58.000 And God has chosen Trump to be his principal warrior in this season.
00:32:05.000 And I rejoice.
00:32:07.000 And the fact that he won, I knew he would win, but we're in a war.
00:32:12.000 So I didn't know whether he would win, whether it would take weeks to determine it, how much they would try to steal.
00:32:19.000 We know that they stole other elections.
00:32:21.000 So we continue to be in a war.
00:32:23.000 And as you say, and as I say constantly, we have to keep fighting and fighting and fighting.
00:32:29.000 But the good news is we get to fight.
00:32:31.000 If he had lost, It's over.
00:32:34.000 It's over.
00:32:35.000 God preserved this nation just as God preserved Donald Trump's life for God's purposes.
00:32:42.000 And those of us who claim to care about what's good and true and beautiful, who claim to love America and freedom, We have to do everything we can, but it is a holy privilege that we get to fight.
00:32:58.000 It would be like fighting with George Washington for the cause of liberty.
00:33:02.000 What a glorious thing that we could fight for such a thing as liberty in America.
00:33:08.000 It's a privilege.
00:33:10.000 To me, part of the Bonhoeffer film is to exhort people.
00:33:13.000 You've got to put your faith into action.
00:33:15.000 You've got to live out your faith.
00:33:17.000 You've got to stop talking about it and ignoring it in the real world.
00:33:21.000 God wants you to live it out.
00:33:22.000 And so I think because of this election, we have an opportunity to do that.
00:33:27.000 And we're going to spend the next years doing that, and we'll see what God has.
00:33:32.000 Frankly, I'm excited.
00:33:33.000 And what a time to be alive.
00:33:35.000 Just remind the audience one more time about the film, Eric, how people can watch it, see it, the call to action, please.
00:33:41.000 It's in theaters everywhere across this country.
00:33:44.000 That will probably end after this weekend.
00:33:46.000 So I am begging people to see it this week.
00:33:50.000 See it this weekend.
00:33:51.000 Tell everyone you know.
00:33:53.000 You can go to angel.com.
00:33:55.000 They didn't make the film.
00:33:56.000 They're the distributors of the film.

00:34:06.000 And while it is in theaters, take advantage of it, drag people who aren't on the same page as you are, and tell the world on social media.
00:34:14.000 Very, very important that this film would succeed.
00:34:17.000 Eric, God bless you, my friend.
00:34:18.000 You're welcome back anytime.
00:34:19.000 Thanks so much.
