00:04:45.040 These students have previously already defaced this Jefferson statue at Hofstra.

00:04:52.280 They wrote Black Lives Matter on it.

00:04:54.080 They wrote all this other stuff on it.

00:04:55.900 Who are the organizers of this event?

00:05:05.120 And there is a real irony here, by the way, that Planned Parenthood is hosting an event to take down a Jefferson statue because it's not nice to black people.

00:06:03.100 And they want to get rid of their namesake and their mascot.

00:06:09.140 There was a vote that was conducted.

00:06:12.020 Fifty-four percent of students at GW want to get rid of George Washington.

00:06:16.420 How about George Washington High School in Northern California?

00:06:19.800 They now want to paint over, they want to get rid of a mural that depicts George Washington.

00:06:25.520 And the way they did it is so insidious.

00:06:28.820 It's just that creeping, tyrannical leftism that seems like it's nice and orderly.

00:06:34.880 So they mask all of their totally destructive instincts with this sort of orderliness of bureaucracy and meetings.

00:06:50.180 The committee's going to meet.

00:06:51.380 And then they're going to decide to take a wrecking ball to a work of art and a piece of history.

00:06:56.180 The working group decided that a mural of George Washington, the founder and father of our country,

00:07:02.660 at a high school called George Washington High School, quote,

00:07:06.400 traumatizes students and community members.

00:07:11.100 It doesn't just offend them.

00:07:14.140 This is what we have been seeing increasingly for years now.

00:07:17.940 What I see at these universities when I go and give speeches there, they are conflating speech with violence.

00:07:26.460 So it's this work of art, this work of history, is not simply offensive.

00:07:31.840 It's not simply unpleasant.

00:07:33.880 It's not simply unappreciated.

00:07:36.020 It is traumatizing, which is to say it is committing an act of violence that has physical repercussions on students.

00:07:42.940 And so, if the school is going to protect the students' safety, their physical well-being,

00:07:49.480 then they have to paint over the artwork.

00:07:54.760 Because what the school should say is,

00:07:56.760 we're not going to erase art and history because you don't like it.

00:08:01.560 Because some mob is demanding it.

00:08:04.540 Because what is happening in reality?

00:08:06.160 A mob is demanding that we burn books, burn history, burn artwork, burn paintings.

00:08:12.900 That's what the, a mob is doing that.

00:08:14.780 But the way the left organizes it is they say it's not a mob.

00:08:32.460 That the district spokesman, so the spokesman for the administration of the school district said,

00:08:38.380 At its conclusion, the group voted and the majority recommended

00:08:42.920 that the Life of Washington mural be archived and removed

00:08:46.660 because the mural does not represent the school district's values.

00:08:54.060 Then what values does the school district hold?

00:08:57.680 Because George Washington, the father of our country,

00:09:01.200 created the greatest country in the history of the world.

00:09:06.280 A country premised on the idea that all men are created equal,

00:09:08.620 that we're endowed by our creator with certain unalienable rights,

00:09:11.280 among them life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

00:09:14.560 That, that man and what that man established and presided over and fought for and won

00:09:21.240 has led to the most just, most equitable, most prosperous,

00:09:25.400 most charitable country in the history of the world ever at any time.

00:09:30.220 Certainly now, by orders of magnitude.

00:09:34.840 If the school district doesn't stand for that, what do they stand for?

00:09:39.760 They apparently oppose life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

00:09:49.640 If we were to give this school district the benefit of the doubt,

00:09:52.920 it seems that they just don't know anything about history.
