Summary

Race riots have overtaken cities across the country, and scientists have yet to find a cure for coronavirus. What s the connection between race riots and the spread of the virus? And why are we so obsessed with social media these days?

Transcript

00:00:00.360 Race riots, looting, arson, Black Lives Matter, Antifa, absolute madness overtake cities from
00:00:07.680 coast to coast this weekend, spreading misery and chaos in their wake. That's the downside.
00:00:13.280 On the bright side, though, since no one cares about social distancing anymore, the unrest
00:00:17.160 seems to have cured coronavirus. Then the mainstream media recast Black Lives Matter
00:00:22.620 and Antifa anarchists as white supremacists, which put white liberals in a tough spot
00:00:27.180 since they were all raising money to bail the alleged white supremacists out of jail.
00:00:31.540 A whole lot to get to. I'm Michael Knowles. This is The Michael Knowles Show.
00:00:41.620 Gotta tell you, I thought the cure for coronavirus was going to be a little bit more medicinal.
00:00:48.840 You know, look, I'm no expert scientist, but I thought maybe it would be hydroxychloroquine.
00:00:53.860 That looked kind of promising. Then I thought maybe it could be that vaccine. You know,
00:00:58.160 they were working on that vaccine for coronavirus in Oxford. But it turns out, actually, and the
00:01:02.360 scientists are all bewildered by this, the cure for coronavirus is a bunch of race riots all around
00:01:07.600 the country. That managed finally to stop it. Who could, you know, science is always changing,
00:01:13.000 I guess. We will, we will get into how the narrative changed and actually the relationship between
00:01:18.020 coronavirus and the race riots. I think maybe the jury is still out. The science is still out.
00:01:24.860 Maybe the race riots did not cure coronavirus. But I think we can say with some certainty that
00:01:31.020 the coronavirus lockdowns helped to cause the race riots. I think it's hard to say otherwise.
00:01:40.280 What is causing this? The inciting incident was this death of George Floyd. George Floyd was the
00:01:46.360 man in Minneapolis where the cop had the knee on his neck and it looked pretty clearly like police
00:01:51.540 brutality. And then the guy died. And that was ostensibly what sparked this whole thing.
00:01:56.140 But why this response? I mean, we'll get into the specifics of George Floyd's death in just a
00:02:01.280 little bit. Why this response? It's not as though this is the first example of police brutality or
00:02:06.380 apparent police brutality that's ever happened. It's not as though police brutality is the only crime
00:02:11.180 that ever happens in the United States or even a particularly pervasive one. So why this response?
00:02:18.520 I think it's because people are really, really on edge because they've been locked up for over
00:02:25.120 two months and they've been thrown out of work and they don't have any money anymore. And they've
00:02:29.360 been sitting on their couches doing nothing. 40 million people out of work, many of whom are young
00:02:35.200 fighting age men who need to get their energy out. Just like little boys need to go run around
00:02:39.960 outside and get their energy out. Young men need to go do things that are productive because idle
00:02:44.800 hands are the devil's playground. And when you lock them up and take away their freedom and take
00:02:48.580 away all their money for months at a time, bad things happen. Unintended consequences. Remember
00:02:53.440 Andy Cuomo? If everything we do saves one life, it will have been worth it. Well, how many lives is it
00:02:58.240 saving on the whole? What are the other effects of this? Right now, looks like race riots.
00:03:05.460 What did we think would happen? What did we think would happen when we normalized wearing face masks
00:03:10.840 all the time? Dressing up like banditos to go to restaurants, to walk into banks. You're going to
00:03:16.980 now walk into a bank with a face mask. You think that's maybe not a great idea if you have civil
00:03:22.780 unrest? Plus, that's the first level. The second level of this, all of us have been glued to our
00:03:27.920 social media for the past two months. I don't know if you've spent a lot of time on Twitter. I sure
00:03:33.220 have. When you're on social media, you're a little bit more rude to people than you are in
00:03:37.820 real life. Okay? People talk to each other on social media in ways they would never do so in
00:03:43.880 real life. It distances you. You don't look at the other person as another person. You look at them
00:03:49.780 as some avatar. And basically, the way I would describe Twitter is just walking up to strangers,
00:03:55.440 shaking them and calling them idiots, right? That's basically all that happens. That's another level
00:03:59.580 of that. Plus, when you're spending all your time on social media, you're just waiting for the next
00:04:04.540 dopamine rush. You're waiting for the next outrage to fill you with righteous indignation so that you
00:04:09.700 can go out and burn it all down. That is the feeling of social media. And by the way, when we're all
00:04:14.860 communicating with each other all of the time, it reminds me of a story from this old dusty book
00:04:20.020 known as the Bible, which is the story of Babylon, Tower of Babel, which is that you, at the Tower of
00:04:27.900 Babel, all the people start communicating with each other all of a sudden, and bad things happen.
00:04:33.360 So many bad things happen that God decides to dispel all of them and confuse their tongues
00:04:38.060 so that they can't speak with one another. Maybe we need another one of those again. Maybe when we're
00:04:43.700 all talking, things don't go that well. Here is the changing narrative. First, the mainstream media
00:04:52.440 tell us coronavirus super duper deadly. So deadly that if you walk outside your door, you are going
00:04:58.940 to die. If you even consider protesting the government response to coronavirus, you are
00:05:06.800 endangering people. Washington Post, a noose, an axe, and Trump-inspired insults. Anti-lockdown
00:05:12.340 protesters ratchet up violent rhetoric. Oh gosh, these anti-lockdown protesters, they must have been
00:05:18.380 committing violence. Well, no, I guess they weren't committing violence, but it was violent rhetoric
00:05:21.760 at least. And that's a bad thing. That's so bad that you need to write a Washington Post article
00:05:25.520 about it. Then from the nation, left-wing magazine, the press is amplifying a dangerous know-nothing
00:05:32.260 ideology. The anti-lockdown protests aren't the first time the media has been swindled into
00:05:37.020 cheerleading and extremist faux libertarianism. Swindled, darn it, I tell you. There's nothing
00:05:43.080 righteous about going out there and protesting. This is a dangerous situation. And then from
00:05:48.360 the peak, anti-lockdown protests ignore social responsibility for egotistical freedom.
00:05:53.540 It is unacceptable to risk the health of others with poorly considered arguments against quarantine.
00:05:59.120 Okay. You can't go out and protest because there's this deadly virus on, right? That's what they first
00:06:03.780 told us. Until liberals started to protest and until leftists started to protest, then the protests
00:06:09.780 were really, really good. So the next story we heard was that mass gatherings and protests are totally
00:06:17.760 fine if they're in service of Black Lives Matter or if they're in service of Antifa or if they're in
00:06:23.580 service of leftism generally. And even when they get violent, they're, they're not really violent.
00:06:28.840 They're not riots. They're not looting. No, no, no. They're actually a merry caravan. That according
00:06:34.520 to CNN. Not only protesters walking now, but they have several cars that have sort of joined the
00:06:41.260 protest as well. And it's now just sort of a, a merry caravan. It is worth pointing out that it has
00:06:49.840 been entirely peaceful, sometimes angry, but entirely peaceful. A few people doing some graffiti when,
00:06:59.120 when others saw them doing the graffiti, they would shut them down, make them stop doing it.
00:07:04.440 They're never going to do that. It's okay.
00:07:05.740 Bottle thrown, uh, which is not uncommon.
00:07:09.240 They're not saying that we are doing it peacefully. They better not f**k it up.
00:07:12.720 F**k it up. F**k it up. F**k it up.
00:07:14.860 So there was some of that, but for the most part, they have been very, very peaceful. Uh, they haven't, uh,
00:07:21.460 they haven't been destroying anything. They, they, they like to take it out of the media
00:07:25.960 as everybody does, but rather than, you know, yell at us and, and, and throw stuff at us,
00:07:31.460 not in a, in a mean way. Uh, and we'll be fine.
00:07:37.080 Yeah. They're very peaceful. They're, whoa. Uh, yeah, no, they're, they're, oh, yikes. Okay. Hold
00:07:41.220 on. But they're super. Oh, look, occasionally they throw stuff at us, but if they peacefully throw
00:07:45.480 it at us, it's definitely not violently throw on there screaming at us about all the violent
00:07:50.820 things they want to do. Yeah. Okay. There's some of that, but I got mostly, believe me,
00:07:54.300 don't listen to them. Don't listen to the rioters. Just listen to me, CNN. I am telling you that
00:08:00.200 they're not violent. MSNBC got in on the action. This was probably the most ridiculous clip of the
00:08:05.200 entire protest. Uh, there's an MSNBC guy in Minneapolis. The building behind him is burning
00:08:13.460 to the ground. It is completely on fire. And the reporter says nothing to see here.
00:08:18.280 I want to be clear in how I characterize this. This is a, mostly a protest. Uh, it is not, uh,
00:08:25.280 it is not generally speaking unruly, but fires have been started. Okay. It's not generally speaking
00:08:30.980 unruly. It's mostly, oh, that, oh, that's the building that's on fire. Yeah. Um, oh, it's a long
00:08:39.140 story. We probably don't have time to get into it. Look, just take my word for it. It's a mostly
00:08:42.640 peaceful protest. And yeah, I don't know something happened, but we'll, we'll get to that a little bit
00:08:47.980 later. That was the second stage of the narrative. Third stage of the narrative. Finally, when they
00:08:52.800 couldn't deny that it was violent anymore on account of, you know, all the fires and the looting,
00:08:56.920 they admitted that it got violent and they started blaming white supremacists. We'll get to that in one
00:09:03.120 second. First though, I got to thank our friends over at rock auto. Some people might need auto parts
00:09:09.300 these days from what I'm noticing. And you know that when you go to the auto parts store, they never
00:09:14.940 actually have what you need. A lot of stores emptied out these days. And so if you show up to
00:09:20.500 the shop, you might say, okay, I want whatever the doohickey for my Honda car. I don't, you know,
00:09:26.860 I don't know anything about car parts. What I do know is every time I go to the car parts store,
00:09:30.440 they don't have the part for my car. Then they go online. They probably go to rockauto.com. They
00:09:33.820 order the same part. They charge me twice as much. Rockauto.com is a family business serving auto parts
00:09:39.320 customers online for 20 years, which is basically the whole history of online. Go to rockauto.com
00:09:43.800 to shop for auto and body parts from hundreds of manufacturers. Best of all, prices at rockauto.com
00:09:49.500 are always reliably low. They're the same for professionals and do-it-yourselfers. Don't spend
00:09:53.860 twice as much. That would be crazy. Go to rockauto.com right now and see all the parts available for your
00:09:58.820 car or truck. Website is super easy to navigate. Even I can do it. So head on over there, write
00:10:04.640 Knowles, K-N-O-W-L-E-S in their how did you hear about us box so that they know that we sent you.
00:10:09.560 So the first part, coronavirus, super deadly. You got to stay inside. Mass gatherings are bad.
00:10:16.120 Then the leftists mass gather. So it's mass gatherings are fine. Then they turn undeniably
00:10:21.320 violent. So the mainstream media blame white supremacists. Even public officials are blaming
00:10:26.480 white supremacists. Here's the public health supervisor, public health commissioner in
00:10:30.620 Minnesota. As we've begun making arrests, we have begun analyzing the data of who we've arrested
00:10:37.700 and begun actually doing what you would think is almost very similar to our COVID. It's contact
00:10:44.000 tracing. Who are they associated with? What platforms are they advocating for? And we have seen
00:10:52.460 things like white supremacist organizers who have posted things on platforms about coming to
00:10:58.580 Minnesota. We are checking to see do the folks that we have, that we have made arrests on and
00:11:04.020 that we have information. Are they connected to those platforms? The white supremacists, all four
00:11:09.660 white supremacists in America must have descended on Minnesota and burned it down. This is the claim
00:11:14.180 that the mainstream media started to parrot. Didn't make a whole lot of sense on account of most of
00:11:20.680 the rioters and the looters were black. So unless they were extraordinarily confused
00:11:26.400 clansmen, probably not white supremacists. Uh, that claim finally disappeared. There was one that,
00:11:34.760 that replaced it. It, it, it was pretty obvious though, that when you saw all these videos,
00:11:39.220 everybody's got a camera now, everybody is a journalist. So you, you could see the, the
00:11:43.600 looting and the riots in real time. A lot of the looters did not seem particularly interested
00:11:48.600 injustice for George Floyd either. So you could see people there robbing a Nike store. And there's
00:12:03.500 this woman who's got a bunch of shoes in her hands who looks as happy as she could be. Christmas came
00:12:09.660 early because she got these free shoes. Hey lady, why are you stealing all those shoes? I, something
00:12:17.060 tells me justice for this man who was killed in Minnesota probably would not be very high up on
00:12:23.600 her list. Now there were some white people there. They weren't white supremacists like the Minnesota
00:12:28.840 public health commissioner says, but there were a lot of white people at these riots and, and protests.
00:12:34.700 Uh, those, those white people that were associated with Antifa. So they weren't neo-Nazis. They weren't
00:12:39.820 fascists. They were communists and anarchists and so-called anti-fascists. There were people who were
00:12:46.840 being bussed in to cause a lot of mayhem and riots in these places. Uh, Fox 11 news caught one of them
00:12:53.340 on camera in Santa Monica. Where did you come in from? Indiana. Indiana? Yeah. When did you get to Los
00:13:00.060 Angeles, Southern California? Uh, today. And why did you come? Uh, I don't know. I don't know. Okay.
00:13:08.560 Well, the unidentified man covering his face, we don't know if everything he's saying may be exact.
00:13:13.840 I should clarify that actually was a black guy. I couldn't tell actually when I first saw the clip
00:13:17.800 because everyone has face masks on, but I could just see it on his hand. There were other white people
00:13:22.140 who also were part of Antifa who were bussed in. I actually, one of, there's a great clip. One of
00:13:26.540 them, uh, was spray painting on a building. And, uh, uh, this was a clearly white person, even though
00:13:34.500 there were a lot of masks on, you can see, cause they're spray painting and a group of black people
00:13:38.160 come up and say, Hey, stop doing that. They're going to blame black people for that.
00:13:41.920 Don't police people. Let me tell you this. This is not a black woman who's put in black lives matter.
00:13:48.140 I just want you to know that when, right. But y'all, y'all doing that for us and we didn't ask
00:13:56.780 you to do that. Listen, don't, don't, don't spray stuff on here when they're going to blame black
00:14:02.620 people for this and black people didn't do it. Okay. So regardless, if you're talking about these
00:14:07.700 moments of Antifa people, white Antifa activists who are committing acts in the name of black lives
00:14:14.760 matter and the black people getting upset about that, or if you're talking about the mainstream
00:14:17.980 media narrative, that this is white supremacists, either way created an awkward situation for white
00:14:23.060 liberal celebrities who started to raise money online to bail out the rioters who got arrested
00:14:29.580 because you can't have both at the same time, right? You can't, on the one hand, they're trying to say
00:14:34.520 that these are good people. It's peaceful. They're, they're just standing up for justice. And that's
00:14:39.520 why we've got to bail them out because they're the good black lives matter, peaceful activists.
00:14:43.360 Give us your money to bail them out. Also, because obviously the thing is extremely violent.
00:14:48.920 Also, it's white supremacists. If it's white supremacists, then that means Justin Timberlake
00:14:52.680 is raising money to bail neo-Nazis out of jail. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense, does it?
00:14:56.660 They're trying to have both sides and they cannot do it. The key to understanding this whole thing
00:15:00.740 is the white liberals. We'll get to that in one second. First, I've got to thank our friends over at

00:16:12.300 Knowles to get free shipping. I took an impromptu trip to Laguna Beach with sweet little Elisa this
00:16:22.000 weekend. Not because of the riots, not because we planned anything. We just decided, hey, that'd be
00:16:27.260 fun. Maybe we'll go down a little romantic trip. Then all the riots break out. The first thing to tip
00:16:33.240 us off was we're walking around Laguna Beach, California, and we saw a protest for Black Lives
00:16:37.760 Matter. All of the people, there were only about 10 or 12 people at this protest, all of them were
00:16:43.560 white people with the Black Lives Matter signs. They were ostensibly standing in solidarity with
00:16:50.980 the white Antifa people who were burning down black neighborhoods. And I guess there were also black
00:16:57.800 rioters and looters and some peaceful protesters too, sure. But consider that all white group of
00:17:05.400 people is standing up in the name of justice for Black people, standing in solidarity with the Antifa
00:17:11.380 white people in justice for Black people to burn down black neighborhoods. That is peak ideology.
00:17:19.180 That's what happens when the reality is so disconnected from the delusion.
00:17:24.580 All about white liberals. All about their feeling of guilt. I have all these white liberal friends. I've lived
00:17:33.140 in very liberal places in my life, so I've got many of this genre of friend. Their Instagram feeds these
00:17:39.540 days, their Facebook feeds are insufferable because they're all posting about how racist they are. And my first
00:17:49.480 reaction, when I saw these white liberals posting about how racist they are, I thought, damn, I've been
00:17:54.920 friends with these people for years. I had no idea what monsters they were. I had no idea I was friends
00:17:59.040 with all these racists. I thought they were just nice, normal people. But it turns out, according to
00:18:03.480 their Instagram feeds right now, they're vicious, horrible racists. Why was I friends with those people
00:18:08.360 in the first place? I don't know. This has become very fashionable for white liberals to perform
00:18:13.980 their, their guilt and their grief and their remorse for the color of their own skin because
00:18:19.620 about how guilty they are because really deep down beneath it all, they think of themselves as
00:18:25.800 unwitting white supremacists. David Duke, without meaning to be so. Brooke Baldwin on CNN cried the same
00:18:33.020 tears, performed the same racial grief. How would you, there are so many emotions as I'm sitting here
00:18:39.260 listening to you. I'm, I'm having my own, I'm surprised at my own emotions on, on, on TV with
00:18:45.380 you. But I've just, as a, as a white woman aware of my own privilege in this country, I am so angry
00:18:53.200 and I can't even begin. Forgive me. No, it's, um, it's a human, it's a human emotion, Brooke.
00:19:05.300 What did Brooke Baldwin do? Was Brooke Baldwin, was she like an instigator of Jim Crow? Was Brooke
00:19:13.440 Baldwin there standing at the polling places saying you can't vote, but you can vote? Why,
00:19:17.780 why, why are you so sorry? What did you do? I don't know. Maybe she did something.
00:19:24.000 Is it, is it just that she feels grief because a guy died? Well, 55 people are killed in America
00:19:31.700 every day. Why, why this one? Why, why focus on this one to the exclusion of all the others,
00:19:38.780 all the other racial injustices or other forms of injustice? Because there obviously are many
00:19:42.980 other forms of injustice. It is a, a, a highly politicized, highly agenda driven sort of
00:19:49.920 performance. This whole thing started because of ideology. Begins with the sad incident involving
00:19:56.420 George Floyd. That incident was used to push this lie that there's an epidemic of racist white cops
00:20:02.280 slaughtering any black man who dares to exit his house nationwide. That's what LeBron James told us.
00:20:09.140 Remember he said the minute black men leave their house, we are hunted down. Obviously not true. How
00:20:13.020 do I know that? Cause LeBron James is LeBron James. I think he's doing just fine. So that lie was then
00:20:19.000 used to justify looting and torching cities. And that lie was then used by white liberals to discourage
00:20:25.180 putting down the race riots, which made the situations much, much worse, specifically in
00:20:30.980 black communities. What's the end result? End result is that black lives matter. Rioters get to flex their
00:20:36.700 muscles. Looters get free TV sets. Antifa thugs get bussed in from out of town to burn things.
00:20:43.100 And good people themselves get burnt. Good people's communities themselves get burnt. In reality,
00:20:48.160 in reality here, white liberals ideology is a far greater threat to black communities than the Ku Klux
00:20:56.820 Klan. That's not my words. That's not what I'm saying. Those are the words of Van Jones, a left-wing
00:21:02.280 black commentator who makes a very good point. And with whom I basically, basically, not totally,
00:21:08.460 but basically agree on this matter. Here's Van Jones on CNN.
00:21:11.260 It's not the racist white person who's in the Ku Klux Klan that we have to worry about. It's the
00:21:18.840 white liberal Hillary Clinton supporter walking her dog in Central Park who would tell you right now,
00:21:26.340 you know, people like that, oh, I don't see race. Race is no guilt to me. I see us all the same.
00:21:32.380 I give to charities. But the minute she sees a black man who she does not respect or who she has a
00:21:40.960 slight thought against, she weaponized race like she had been trained by the Aryan nation,
00:21:47.620 a Klan's member could not have been better trained to pick up the police and pick up her phone and tell
00:21:53.740 the police it's a black man, African-American man, come get him. So Van Jones is talking about that
00:21:58.800 lady in Central Park. His read on it is a little more skewed because he's obviously he's not talking
00:22:03.700 about the actions of the guy, you know, this like creepy guy who walked up to her and tried to lure her
00:22:08.360 dog away and was filming her. And he's not talking about the sexual aspect of this whole thing. But
00:22:12.940 I basically agree with this point because part of this woman's hysterical breakdown was she said,
00:22:19.140 I'm going to call the cops and say an African-American man is attacking me. And you see this with a lot
00:22:22.800 of white liberals is they, they talk a good game, but actually they have very condescending patronizing
00:22:28.860 views about black people. They don't view black people as equal. That's why they allow black communities
00:22:33.760 to burn as they think like, oh, well, obviously we never allow this to happen in our community. But if,
00:22:38.180 if, if black people want to do it in their community, uh, that's fine. It's a different thing. We're obviously
00:22:42.460 so, so different than they are. And the effect of this is, well, everyone gets to enjoy their ideology and
00:22:50.960 their delusions and their fantasies. And some people get free TVs. Normal people, good, normal, rail,
00:22:58.860 regular people in communities get destroyed. There was a woman who was interviewed in Minneapolis.
00:23:07.060 Her community has just burned down and she was sobbing because now she had nowhere to turn.
00:23:15.080 They went straight to office max, the dollar store at every store over here that I go to.
00:23:22.160 I have nowhere to go now. I have no way to get there because the buses aren't running. These
00:23:30.360 people did this for no reason. It's not going to bring George back here. George is in a better
00:23:38.720 place than we are. Last night, I'm going to be honest. I wish I was where George was because
00:23:45.720 this is ridiculous. These people are tearing up our livelihood. It's a terrible video to watch.
00:23:52.020 Something tells me that woman's not on Twitter. Something tells me that woman isn't coordinating
00:23:56.760 with the Black Lives Matter organization and then coordinating with the Antifa organization
00:24:01.440 and thinking about revolution and we're going to bring the guillotine and finally down with the
00:24:05.520 system man and we're going to bring marks in here and finally, no. Something tells me she's just
00:24:10.700 trying to live in her community and just have a life, you know, and kind of do the things that we all do
00:24:17.540 in life and these maniacs, these radical ideological villains have come in and burned down all the
00:24:26.240 places that she goes to and all the things that she cares about and she's the, and guess what? And
00:24:31.020 they're going to move on. They're going to go now. They're, they're moving city to city. They're moving
00:24:34.040 all around the country, but she doesn't get to move on. She's still in her community and nobody,
00:24:39.920 nobody is talking on her behalf. Nobody is standing up for her. Not Black Lives Matter,
00:24:46.520 not Antifa, not the white liberals. Nobody, nobody's doing that. Very sad. Meanwhile,
00:24:53.880 prominent left-wing communicators are encouraging the destruction. Chris Palmer, he's a former ESPN
00:25:01.500 reporter, NBA reporter. Chris Palmer, blue check mark on Twitter. He tweets out, there's an image
00:25:07.060 of low income housing burning to the, a low income building completely on fire. And he tweets out
00:25:14.680 the phrase, quote, burn that S-H-I-T down, burn it all down. So low income housing in downtown in the
00:25:24.440 city, burn it down. Yeah, that's right. Next tweet. Once the protesters started moving out of downtown,
00:25:32.860 started moving toward Beverly Hills, some of the nice areas in LA, all of a sudden it was a
00:25:38.880 different story. He says, I'm as down for the cause as anybody. Any of you clowns thinking you're
00:25:43.000 going to loot the Grove or Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills? It will not work out well for you. Trying
00:25:47.780 to loot Rodeo Drive is probably the worst idea in the history of bad ideas. I'm as angry as everyone
00:25:51.960 else, but keep that S-H-I-T in downtown LA. Don't bring it to my neighborhood, not my backyard.
00:25:58.600 Oh no, you keep that in your poor neighborhood, but in my rich neighborhood? No, no, no. I don't,
00:26:03.720 we don't want revolution there. Just in your bad place. He goes on, you bring that S-H-I-T to our
00:26:10.200 neighborhood and I'm going to have a real problem with it. There's a lot of people up here who care
00:26:13.500 and are angry. Attacking our neighborhood kills the movement and disgraces George Floyd. This
00:26:18.220 freaking jerk, he actually stands on the grave of this dead man in Minnesota to explain why people
00:26:26.840 should burn down the area where lots of low income, disproportionately black people live.
00:26:34.140 But not in his nice neighborhood where lots of rich people and mostly like Persian people and
00:26:39.240 white people live. Don't do that. No, that would disgrace the memory of George Floyd, but go burn
00:26:44.080 down downtown LA. George would love that. Oh, he'd be thrilled. What's the political outcome here?
00:26:50.140 We'll get to that in one second. Is this going to help Trump? Is it going to hurt Trump?
00:26:52.620 What should we do about all of this? How do we keep our cool? We'll get to that in one second.
00:26:57.840 First though, I've got to thank you. And I've got to tell you, you've got to go over to the
00:27:02.780 Michael Knowles Show YouTube channel. Probably you're watching this right now. If you're watching
00:27:06.000 it, you're probably watching it on the Daily Wire YouTube channel. That's fine. It's all well and good.
00:27:11.140 We should, that's okay to give Ben some views over there. Okay. But we also have a Michael Knowles
00:27:15.140 Show YouTube channel. And right now I'm in a race with my friend Andrew Klavan. He wants to get more
00:27:21.380 subscribers than I'm going to get. This is a very bad idea. With all the pressing issues in this
00:27:25.960 country, this one might be the most important one. Head on over to my YouTube or to my YouTube
00:27:30.720 channel and subscribe. We've got a lot of fun bonus segments. We've got one coming up with my friend
00:27:34.560 Maddie Kearns discussing the major transgender decision that's coming down the pike from the
00:27:40.400 courts. There are decisions being made in the executive. Important to get that, that background.
00:27:45.320 So head on over there right now and please go get me to 50,000 subs before Drew gets there.
00:27:49.340 Also, right now you get one Tumblr, you get two Tumblrs. That's what you get when you sign up

00:28:03.100 shows, you get more of the Ben Shapiro show, you get the All Access, you get an ad-free website
00:28:06.680 experience. None of that matters. You get the Leftist Tiers Tumblr and you're going to need it.

00:28:15.240 Dailywire.com slash subscribe. See you there. We'll be right back with a lot more.
00:28:19.340 What's the political outcome here? Is this going to help Trump or is this going to hurt Trump?
00:28:35.380 There was a hysterical white liberal lady in Santa Monica who was screaming at the looters
00:28:40.900 running into the store stealing stuff. She said, stop looting. Stop stealing stuff. It's going to
00:28:45.640 get Trump reelected. This is going to get Trump reelected. Please stop. Think first. Do not get
00:28:52.480 Trump reelected for your behavior. Please. Santa Monica. Please. We don't want Trump reelected.
00:29:01.780 Please don't do that. You're only going to want him back. Please, please stop reelecting Donald Trump.
00:29:09.400 You know, there's a lot of wisdom to what this woman is saying. When there's civil unrest,
00:29:14.380 people prefer to go for the law and order candidates. This happened in 68 with Richard
00:29:19.340 Nixon and then Nixon obviously got reelected. So this might help Trump. Trump ran in 2016 as the
00:29:25.900 law and order, tough on crime kind of candidate and Republicans tend to occupy that space.
00:29:31.620 Trouble is though, Trump has weakened his law and order cred because one of his big legislative
00:29:36.820 initiatives that he pushed is the so-called First Step Act, which we can debate the merit of the First
00:29:42.820 Step Act all day. But the effect of it is to let criminals out of prisons. And I don't think that
00:29:47.860 when people look around at these riots going on and burning buildings and people dying around the
00:29:52.260 country, I don't think their first thought is, yeah, we don't have, we have too many people in
00:29:56.660 prison. Yeah, we got, our prisons are too full. No, I think their thought is we don't have enough
00:30:01.480 people in prison. We need to put these people in prison. So that's going to hurt him a little bit.
00:30:05.580 Also, President Trump hasn't yet addressed the nation on this. And a lot of people are calling for it.
00:30:09.580 A lot of conservatives are calling for it. I'm not saying this hurts Trump. I don't know that
00:30:13.560 it will because you've got the Biden campaign engaging in totally unforced errors. There's
00:30:17.320 a headline from Reuters that came out that the Biden campaign staff donated to a group that is
00:30:24.620 posting bail for rioters in Minneapolis. So the Biden campaign is actually springing these thugs from
00:30:31.440 the clink. If you've got a choice between Biden and Trump, in that case, you're going to pick Trump.
00:30:35.680 And also when there's civil unrest, when people actually, it seems like we're not just on the
00:30:39.620 verge of violence, but there's violence going on around the country. You don't want the doddering
00:30:44.100 senile person who doesn't remember his own name. Regardless of your ideology or your philosophical
00:30:48.940 views, probably you're going to want the guy who's a little more virile. Trump needs to show that he's
00:30:54.400 still virile. Secret Service reportedly evacuated him to a White House bunker last night that's used
00:31:00.020 during terrorist attacks because there were that many mobs and rioters coming up against the White
00:31:04.860 House. They lit the St. James Church, the most famous church in Washington, D.C. They lit it on
00:31:10.420 fire. Luckily, they seem to have put it out. How are we going to deal with this? How's Trump going
00:31:16.180 to deal with this? Reportedly, again, take it with a grain of salt because it's from the mainstream
00:31:20.300 media, but reportedly some of Trump's advisors are urging caution. Play it really safe. Don't come out
00:31:28.160 against the rioters. Hold listening sessions. Listening sessions. Rioters throwing Molotov cocktails,
00:31:36.880 looting stores around the country, destroying businesses, destroying lives, destroying cities,
00:31:41.880 burning down buildings, burning down police buildings. Have listening sessions. Probably not a
00:31:48.520 great idea. If any advisors are proposing listening sessions, probably Trump should get some new
00:31:53.640 advisors. Those advisors are not paying attention to what's going on. Those kinds of proposals actually
00:32:00.240 remind me of one of the viral videos that went around from the weekend. And this was of a guy in one
00:32:05.900 of the cities that's burning down. I don't even remember which one. And the guy is trying to light a
00:32:09.700 building on fire. But fortunately, this rioter is so incompetent that he actually catches himself on fire
00:32:16.060 when he does it.
00:32:26.660 You hate to see it, don't you? You hate to see it when a rioter is trying to burn down a city, but then
00:32:41.500 his hair is too big. So he accidentally catches his hair on fire and tumbles down the stairs and
00:32:46.500 rolls to try to put it off. You hate to see it. I mean it. I mean it. You hate to see it.
00:32:51.660 That video reminds me of this Trump, alleged Trump policy of holding listening sessions
00:32:59.900 that you're going to, while the country is being destroyed, you're going to create an unforced error.
00:33:07.580 You're going to set yourself on fire. No good will come from listening sessions with rioters.
00:33:13.460 None. Not one little bit. You will only harm yourself. You will only increase, accelerate
00:33:20.000 the rate at which your political power is burning to the ground. Got to take a different course.
00:33:27.020 Huntington Beach, California showed the way. Huntington Beach, California, one of the few
00:33:31.560 conservative towns here in SoCal. It's down in Orange County, the promised land.
00:33:38.160 These Antifa wackos decided to show up to Huntington Beach. All right. They've been burning and some
00:33:43.840 Black Lives Matter people and some rioters and some rioters. They've been showing up all over the
00:33:49.140 place, right? So they show up to Huntington Beach. Huntington Beach just says no. So you see people,
00:33:55.120 they got Trump flags. They've got all different kinds of hats, men and women. The rioters show up there
00:34:02.260 and the normal pro-Trump people chase them out of town. You can actually see the video later. They
00:34:10.840 are all leaving Huntington Beach because these guys are saying, no, I don't think we're going to have
00:34:14.980 any listening sessions here while you burn down our city. I'm pretty sure we're going to make you all
00:34:20.040 skedaddle. Smart stuff. And some women were hurt in the, among the pro-Trump Huntington Beach crowd.
00:34:27.340 I mean, this was, it did get violent. These rioters are violent, vicious, terrible people,
00:34:31.680 but ultimately they got chased out of town when people stood up to them instead of coddling them,
00:34:37.120 holding listening sessions. Huntington Beach is not going to be bullied into letting their city
00:34:42.900 burn in the name of, in the name of racism or anti-racism or fascism or anti-fascism or this-ism
00:34:49.120 or that-ism. Ain't going to happen. They're going to run them out of town. We should take notes because
00:34:52.920 riots create inevitably bad outcomes. There was another video going around last night of downtown
00:34:58.840 somewhere. Again, I don't know. It's happening in so many different cities. Couldn't even tell you
00:35:02.800 which downtown it was in. I think it might've been Los Angeles, but I'm not sure. There's a car
00:35:08.680 is driving and a mob of violent rioters surrounds the car and they start attacking the car and opening
00:35:15.400 the door. We've seen the videos all around the country, right? The minute these rioters get you
00:35:19.720 out of your car, you're done. You're not getting back up. You're not walking away. Forget about even
00:35:24.820 defending your property. At that point, it becomes a question of defending your life. Or imagine if you
00:35:29.000 have your wife in your car or your kids in your car. So these guys surround the guy in the car.
00:35:33.240 Well, guess what he's going to do? He's going to put his foot on the accelerator.
00:35:38.680 Oh my God. Oh my God. Very sad stuff. If you surround a man in his vehicle, expect to get
00:35:58.720 smushed. That is a law of nature. I'm not saying it's good or bad. I'm saying it's inevitable.
00:36:05.660 If, if I am in my car and you surround me and you're threatening me with violence and you're
00:36:13.640 trying to get me out of my car, there's only one thing I can do. And that is to put my foot
00:36:18.680 on the accelerator and get the hell out of Dodge. Okay. That's just a bad outcome. Nobody wants that.
00:36:27.400 Nobody wants to have to put his foot on the accelerator. Nobody wants to be dragged out of
00:36:31.000 his car. That is an inevitably bad outcome caused by tolerating these riots.
00:36:38.800 A, a good policy here, which we're not seeing pushed by mostly liberal democratic mayors and
00:36:44.920 mostly liberal democratic governors, maybe exclusively liberal democratic politicians.
00:36:49.300 And all the way up until the federal level. And finally at the federal level, Trump is saying,
00:36:52.720 we got to send in the national guard, which eventually they've done in a lot of these places.
00:36:56.720 But that's what happens here. When you tolerate this kind of stuff, you think you're doing it in
00:37:01.240 the name of compassion. There's nothing compassionate about putting that in the,
00:37:04.160 putting people in this situation where inevitably people are going to get hurt.
00:37:08.160 Race is lying as a, as a major issue in all of this. Right. And I think people,
00:37:14.700 they don't know why racism is bad. I actually think we don't, you know, you always hear the left
00:37:20.660 talking about, we need a national conversation about race. Then we never have a national conversation
00:37:24.520 about race because the left never wants to have any conversation. They never want to have any
00:37:27.120 listening sessions. They just want to scream and yell and riot. Racism is bad. The reason it is bad
00:37:33.380 is that it is an offense against human dignity. Man is made in the image of God, right? Man descends
00:37:41.460 from a common ancestor, Adam. That regardless of your views of the Bible or the Genesis account or any
00:37:47.760 of that, that is why racism is bad. That is the only reason that anybody has ever thought that racism is
00:37:53.600 bad is because we are made in the image of God. So there is a brotherhood of man and we all descend
00:38:00.320 from a common ancestor, Adam. So there's human solidarity. Racism itself takes different forms. On the
00:38:07.900 left, racism takes the form of believing that white people are bad. That's what you're seeing on your
00:38:12.500 Instagram feeds right now. Or for the white liberals, it's the belief that what they actually think is that
00:38:17.380 white people are superior, but it's wrong that they're superior. And so they feel a lot of guilt and,
00:38:22.000 but they still feel superior. So they're still going to exercise that in various ways. But that's
00:38:26.340 kind of left-wing racism. On the right, when racism manifests, it's usually a reactionary kind of
00:38:31.540 racism. You see it in the recesses of the internet. It focuses on IQ. It talks a lot about IQ or it
00:38:37.240 talks a lot of, actually, it usually takes the form of anti-Semitism and these theories about the Jews
00:38:41.760 controlling every single thing in the world and everything is the Jews' fault. Those are two ways
00:38:46.960 racism manifests. The left thinks that the cure for racism is a different kind of racism. So the cure
00:38:53.280 for thinking that whites are superior to blacks is thinking that blacks are better in some way than
00:38:59.560 whites and we need to give a lot of privileges to blacks and, and not to whites and not, not have
00:39:04.460 racial equality, just kind of flip the racism. The right believes that the cure for racism is a
00:39:09.700 denial of racial consciousness. So you see this all the time among conservatives. They say, you know,
00:39:14.180 I don't, I don't see race. And very often it's true. They don't see race. They don't think about
00:39:18.020 race that much. I promise you. They do. I, the left doesn't believe this when we conservatives say
00:39:23.200 this. We don't think about race that much. We don't care. It is not on the top list of priorities,
00:39:28.400 but it is the case that leftists think about race a lot. Most other racial groups have a fairly high
00:39:37.120 and developed degree of racial consciousness. That is an undeniable fact. Now, both of those cures,
00:39:44.980 the left's cure and the right's cure, both of them are wrong. The denial of the problem obviously
00:39:50.000 doesn't solve anything. So what is the answer? The cure for racism is necessarily religious.
00:39:57.980 The only non-racist civilization in history is the West. The only civilization that has done anything
00:40:04.280 to cure the problem of racism is the West. Okay. Why did the West do that? Because of Christianity.
00:40:14.640 Because the thing that shaped the West, the thing that has defined the West is Christianity. And in
00:40:21.160 Christianity, in Christ, as the scriptures tell us, there is neither Jew nor Greek, nor bond nor free,
00:40:28.140 but all are one in Christ Jesus. These racial divisions go away in the mystical body of Christ.
00:40:35.620 That is the theological basis of anti-racism and the image of God and our common ancestor.
00:40:42.040 That manifests in the culture. So even in our civilization now, which has in many ways discarded
00:40:46.920 the religion that created it, we still have the kind of lingering effects, the lingering
00:40:52.660 attitudes that were created by that religious answer. People have been asking me, they've been
00:40:58.740 writing in on Twitter, on an email and other places. They've said, how do you stay calm during
00:41:05.280 what is now apparently a national insurrection? How do you stay calm? There are two answers.
00:41:10.560 The one is religious. The other is historical. Obviously the religious answer is, my savior lives,
00:41:15.680 you know, come on, you can, you know, this, this flesh isn't going to last forever. This matter isn't,
00:41:21.100 isn't the whole world. We should protect people's property. We should protect our civilization and
00:41:25.220 our cities, but you know, this ain't it. This isn't the whole world. And so in the grand scheme
00:41:31.240 of things, the, the footlocker that just got robbed is, is not, you know, the be all and end
00:41:36.420 all. It's very sad for the business owner. It's wrong, but you know, it's not, not the end of the
00:41:40.400 world. Also, if you have this religious point of view, you realize the imagination of man's heart is
00:41:45.600 evil from the beginning. We're in a fallen world. There is original sin. We're not going to get
00:41:49.440 utopia on earth. America, wonderful country as it is, is not this utopia. It's not going to be
00:41:55.860 perfect. There's always going to be injustice. So that's the way of the world. That's the religious
00:41:59.900 answer. The other one is historical. Lots of bad things happen in history. I mean, if you look back
00:42:08.000 at not just the recent past, but the longer past, the way longer past, go back actually to the
00:42:16.760 historical accounts in the Bible. Things go real bad, real fast. There are lots of atrocities.
00:42:22.700 There's lots of precedent. You know, a lot of people are comparing this race riot to the 1992
00:42:28.180 riots. And there are some analogs and some not analogs. Meaning in, in 1992, these race riots began
00:42:37.180 because Rodney King was beaten by the police. And then the police officers who were involved were
00:42:42.080 acquitted of the crime. And because they were acquitted, people view this as an injustice and
00:42:47.220 there were race riots. There is some analogy here, except where is the injustice currently being
00:42:54.840 committed? A guy was killed, very likely through police brutality. Then the cop involved was fired
00:43:02.140 and then he was charged with murder. What, what next? What else, what else could be done?
00:43:10.100 There's nothing else to be, the guy's being charged with murder. There's no, it's not like he was
00:43:13.860 acquitted, right? And he gets to walk scot-free. There's nothing else to be done. So there's no
00:43:18.240 resolution to this. There's no, there's no answer. It's just this venting of frustration that I think
00:43:24.860 comes from, from ignorance and isolation and, uh, uh, a loss of, of what the, the civilization is built
00:43:33.660 on. That happens in history. Nations rise, nations peak, nations fall. Civilizations rise, they peak,
00:43:40.220 they fall. Lots of, uh, bad things, lots of suffering. The world continues to spin. The world
00:43:48.500 goes on. There will be, you know, if you have a progressive vision of the world, then things have
00:43:52.720 to keep getting better and better and better and better. And everything in the past was bad and
00:43:55.620 everything in the future is getting better and better. And the reason why progressives and
00:43:58.900 liberals are so disillusioned is because that doesn't actually happen. The way things, the way
00:44:03.640 things really happen is some bad things happen, then maybe some good things happen, but then some
00:44:09.460 more bad things happen. And now we're in the midst of one of these bad things happening. And guess what?
00:44:13.920 Some good things will happen again. That's the good news. And the bad news is some bad things will
00:44:18.400 happen after that. That's the way of the world. It's not particularly ideological. It's
00:44:22.720 much more practical. It's much more realistic. But I think all of the madness that we're looking
00:44:27.200 at right now has been caused by ideological delusions. And the only way we're going to get
00:44:32.540 back to any sense of normalcy is by dispelling those illusions and accepting occasionally a bitter
00:44:40.180 pill, but ultimately a much more comforting one, reality. That's our show. I'm Michael Knowles.

00:45:44.680 You know, The Matt Walsh Show, it's not just another show about politics. I think there are
00:45:48.660 enough of those already out there. We talk about culture because culture drives politics and it
00:45:53.680 drives everything else. So my main focuses are life, family, faith. Those are fundamental.
00:46:00.840 And that's what this show is about. I hope you'll give it a listen.
