Summary

Trump returns to the press briefing room, and it's better than ever. President Trump is in control of the White House, and he needs to do more of them. He needs to improve the quality of the press briefings, and communicate better with the American people.

00:00:00.000 Great news. President Trump has brought back the Corona virus press briefings,
00:00:06.540 which were some of the best shows on TV about three months ago. He stopped doing them.
00:00:12.240 Now they are back. They were great. They were brilliant. They were helping him.
00:00:16.080 And the left tried to shut them down. They tried not to air them.
00:00:20.440 And they were successful at that, just like they tried to shut down our economy.
00:00:24.140 They were successful at that, just like they're trying to shut down the presidential campaign
00:00:27.940 because Joe Biden can't form a coherent English sentence.
00:00:31.340 And so President Trump is not taking it anymore. We are in a whole new ballgame.
00:00:35.920 I hope he keeps doing them a lot. This one went very well. He kept it short and sweet.
00:00:41.560 It was very high energy. It was reassuring. And the best part of all is that there was no Dr. Fauci.
00:00:49.240 Why are your doctors not with you here today? Where's Dr. Fauci, Dr. Birx?
00:00:52.580 Well, Dr. Birx is right outside. Yes, please.
00:00:54.960 Thank you, Mr. President.
00:00:55.840 Love that answer. Yeah, Dr. Birx is out there. And who's that other guy? Dr. Who?
00:01:00.620 Dr. What now? That guy who was wrong about everything and took a lot of political power
00:01:03.940 for himself? Yeah, I don't think so. We've all had enough of Dr. Fauci. Obviously,
00:01:08.960 Dr. Fauci has been wrong on a lot of questions, which we will get to. And he took a lot of political
00:01:13.940 power, things that properly should have been in the realm of politics. And then everyone pretended
00:01:18.420 we're in the realm of science. I'm not opposed to having medical advisors at these things generally.
00:01:23.520 But if he wants medical advisors there, he should have economic advisors there. He should have
00:01:27.840 military advisors there. And there should be no question as to who is actually calling the shots.
00:01:32.520 Nobody elected the exalted Dr. Fauci. The president is in control. The more he can show that he is in
00:01:38.700 control, the better off he will be. The better off we will all be, too. The country and, of course,
00:01:43.700 the president for the presidential campaign. Right now, more briefings, more communication. That is the
00:01:49.120 best way to ensure that he remains the president. There's just one thing that President Trump can do
00:01:55.900 to greatly improve those briefings. We'll get into it. I'm Michael Knowles. This is The Michael Knowles

00:03:48.220 There was just one thing he got a little wrong. And I know people are going to agree with,
00:03:53.680 disagree with me on this. Probably more people are going to agree with me as days go, go on.
00:03:57.860 The one error he made is he bought the left's premise on the masks and he pushed the masks.
00:04:07.200 And as he pushed the masks, he simultaneously conceded defeat, conceded that he was wrong
00:04:14.520 early on about the masks. We're asking everybody that when you are not able to socially distance,
00:04:22.940 wear a mask, get a mask. Whether you like the mask or not, they have an impact, they'll have an
00:04:29.760 effect and we need everything we can get. And he went on and talked about how he'll wear the mask
00:04:34.640 sometimes and other people should wear the mask. Before we get into the scientific component of
00:04:39.040 the masks, which we will get into, I've got some info here from the CDC. I just want to talk about
00:04:44.620 the political component because I have been warning the president and campaign about two things that
00:04:52.340 are going to happen if he puts on the mask. One, it's going to project weakness abroad to our
00:04:57.240 adversaries. But two, what it's going to do is grant the left their current premise. Don't forget,
00:05:04.160 they've had, the left had a different tune on masks three months ago. But right now what they're
00:05:07.280 saying is Trump was wrong not to wear the mask early on. He should have told everyone to wear the
00:05:11.180 masks. He should have led by example. He killed people by not wearing the masks. And if you agree,
00:05:18.140 if you believe that the masks really do work and they're super effective, then it's very easy to
00:05:23.260 make the left's argument. So that was the warning I had. Immediately, within two seconds, the left
00:05:28.900 started their victory dance, including Nancy Pelosi on Wolf Blitzer's CNN show.
00:05:34.360 I think with the president's comments today, he recognized the mistakes that he has made by now
00:05:41.560 embracing mask wearing and the recognition. This is not a hoax. It is a pandemic that has gotten worse
00:05:49.700 before it will get better because of his inaction. And in fact, clearly it is the Trump virus.
00:05:58.400 So Pelosi's always got to take it too far because she actually was making a pretty convincing argument,
00:06:04.360 a little more of a subtle argument. And then she goes, this is the Trump virus. So this is what the New
00:06:08.280 York Times had been prattling on about. They never want to blame China. They'll only say nice things
00:06:12.100 about China, which actually started this pandemic, but they'll, they'll implausibly blame it on Trump.
00:06:18.560 However, this first part of, of her argument is going to catch on. It already is. Chuck Todd is
00:06:24.180 repeating these same kinds of things that Trump is admitting that he was wrong. And therefore,
00:06:27.900 if he was wrong and obstinate about it, it cost lives. That, that isn't true. Let's not forget that
00:06:35.820 there were other people talking about not wearing masks early on, but it doesn't matter for Pelosi's
00:06:40.780 polemic. Well, what do you mean when you say the Trump virus? The Trump virus. If they, if he had
00:06:46.460 said months ago, let's wear a mask, let's not, let's socially distance instead of having rallies and
00:06:53.760 political, whatever they were, uh, then more people would have followed his lead as the president
00:07:00.060 of the United States. Instead of being a bad example, making it like a manhood thing, not to
00:07:05.340 wear a mask. The gaslighting here is so tremendous. Pelosi's argument is if Trump a few months ago had
00:07:14.460 just put, put on the mask and told us all to wear masks and socially distanced, then we'd all be okay.
00:07:18.900 Where was Nancy Pelosi a few months ago? Well, luckily we've got the tape, even though I'm sure this
00:07:23.440 is going to be sent down the memory hole. Nancy Pelosi was in Chinatown in San Francisco, not wearing
00:07:30.360 a mask surrounded by zillions of people as the virus was exploding in the United States. And she,
00:07:36.600 she acknowledged that there was a virus. And then she told people that don't worry about that. Come
00:07:40.960 on down to Chinatown. It's exciting to be here, especially at this time, uh, to be able to be
00:07:47.720 unified with our community. Uh, we want to be vigilant about what it might be on, uh, what is
00:07:54.720 out there in other places. We want to be careful about how we deal with it. But we do want to say
00:08:00.120 to people, come to Chinatown. Here we are. We're again, careful, safe, and come join us.
00:08:08.840 You know, especially with this virus, even if she had said, come on to little Tokyo, come on to little
00:08:13.680 Italy. Come on. But the fact that it was Chinatown, Chinatown, China, the country that started the
00:08:20.580 whole pandemic, it's hilarious. And yet now we're three months later, nobody remembers that, right?
00:08:30.180 I guess we're more than three months later. This thing has been going on so long,
00:08:33.400 but we're now, gosh, when did this, this all really started in March, April, May, June. Now we're in July.
00:08:39.040 Oh my gosh, five months later. And no one remembers that. No one remembers that Nancy Pelosi,
00:08:45.380 that the Democrats, that Joe, Joe Biden in particular, were saying that we shouldn't shut
00:08:50.180 down. We shouldn't cut off travel from China. We shouldn't, we shouldn't change what's going on
00:08:54.340 when it suits them. Then when it suits their political agenda, they say the opposite and they
00:08:58.780 blame Trump. It wasn't just Nancy Pelosi and all the other Democrats though. It wasn't just Eric
00:09:03.520 Swalwell, the first while presidential candidate who tweeted out to stop buying masks. It was Dr.
00:09:12.260 Fauci himself. Right now in the United States, people should not be walking around with masks.
00:09:20.860 You're sure of it because people are listening really closely to this.
00:09:24.080 Right now, people should not be walking. There's no reason to be walking around with a mask.
00:09:27.580 When you're in the middle of an outbreak, wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better
00:09:35.020 and it might even block a droplet, but it's not providing the perfect protection that people
00:09:41.680 think that it is. And often there are unintended consequences. People keep fiddling with the mask
00:09:48.480 and they keep touching their face.
00:09:50.180 And can you get some schmutz sort of staying inside there?
00:09:53.600 Of course, of course. But when you think masks, you should think of healthcare providers needing
00:09:58.100 them and people who are ill. Right, right. Are we going to call it the Fauci virus? Are we going
00:10:05.540 to call it the Pelosi virus? Are we going to call it the Swalwell virus? No, but Fauci here makes a
00:10:10.840 great point. There are two ways. There are two ways to read what Fauci said then compared to what all
00:10:17.220 the Democrats and Fauci are saying now, which is he was being honest then and the Democrats are not
00:10:23.580 being honest now. He was being honest then when he said these masks aren't that effective.
00:10:26.900 And now the Democrats are being dishonest about it because they want to virtue signal and turn it
00:10:31.520 into a political symbol, which Joe Biden did very early on. He would wear it dangling from his ear.
00:10:35.480 It wasn't even covering his mouth. He'd just wear it dangling to show his political affiliation.
00:10:40.620 And they're just a way to kind of make people feel better, which Fauci also talks about there.
00:10:44.600 So that's one way to read it. The other way to read it is he was being dishonest then because he
00:10:47.920 wanted to preserve all of the masks for the healthcare workers. And now he's being honest.
00:10:52.180 I think there's actually a little bit of truth to both of them. There's a lot of truth to the first
00:10:56.020 part. And there's a little bit of truth to the second one too, which is that they didn't want
00:10:59.960 to run on masks that are of high, high quality, you know, the N95 or whatever, even the more
00:11:06.460 sophisticated masks because they wanted to preserve those for healthcare workers. But now that we know
00:11:11.600 that it's okay and we never even came close to overwhelming the hospital system. Now everybody can
00:11:15.640 go by the masks, but the masks still don't do very much, especially the way people wear them in public,
00:11:19.600 especially those cloth masks, which people are not wearing correctly. And actually they might hurt
00:11:23.220 because people are touching their faces all the time. I think that's probably true.
00:11:26.460 You don't need to take my word for it. Got a review piece printed out from the CDC.
00:11:32.520 This is not some old piece. This is a new piece. This is from May, 2020. Non-pharmaceutical
00:11:39.440 measures for pandemic influenza in non-healthcare settings, personal protective and environmental
00:11:44.100 measures. Lots of jargon, like you always see in these. Just a quick line from the abstract.
00:11:48.840 We will not go in and read the whole paper. This is on the efficacy of masks and of hand-washing,
00:11:56.240 by the way, to slow the spread of a lab-confirmed influenza, which is a virus, a virus like this virus.
00:12:05.820 Although mechanistic studies support the potential effect of hand hygiene or face masks,
00:12:11.100 so those are, those are just some mechanistic studies. Evidence from 14 randomized control
00:12:18.500 trials of these measures did not support a substantial effect on transmission of laboratory-confirmed
00:12:26.260 influenza. They don't do very much. Even the hand-washing apparently doesn't do very much,
00:12:34.300 but certainly these masks that people are not even wearing properly don't do very much. There is
00:12:41.260 no evidence, very, very little evidence that they do much of anything at all. There is lots of
00:12:45.820 evidence that they don't do much of anything at all. It is, as I have been saying for many weeks now,
00:12:51.540 a political symbol, primarily. Are there uses for masks? Sure, there are some uses for masks,
00:12:58.100 but the way that they are being used right now, the way that they are being pushed, the way that
00:13:03.380 people are being bullied into wearing them everywhere, does not have a scientific basis.
00:13:09.240 It is a political symbol, and I think it's counterproductive for the president to play into
00:13:15.560 this because what the mask says is we can't reopen the economy. What the mask says is we shouldn't go
00:13:23.800 vote in person. We should have mail-in votes all around the country. Hope that'll turn out fine.
00:13:29.320 What the mask says is Trump was wrong from the beginning. People aren't going to remember what
00:13:33.100 Fauci said. They're not going to remember what Swalwell said. They're not going to remember what
00:13:35.420 Pelosi said. They're going to remember Trump. Trump's the biggest guy in the room. Trump's the
00:13:39.040 president of the United States. They're going to say Trump was wrong, and people are dead because of
00:13:42.360 Trump. That's what the mask conveys. How does the mask slow down the spread of the virus in the
00:13:50.720 vast majority of cases? Not very well at all. So they call it the Trump virus. That's what
00:13:56.100 they're going to keep calling it. Meanwhile, the Democrats are going to defend China, and they're
00:14:00.140 not just going to defend China in an offhanded comment here or there. They're going to rise on
00:14:05.400 the floor of the House of Representatives, and they are going to defend the decision of China to lie
00:14:13.820 about the pandemic. Let's not forget there was a study from the University of Southampton early on in
00:14:18.160 this spread. It said that if China had stopped lying just one week, one week earlier than they
00:14:24.320 did, they would have reduced the spread by 66 percent. Two weeks, 86 percent. Three weeks,
00:14:30.460 over 90 percent. Here is Democratic Representative Adam Smith defending China.
00:14:36.540 This puts us in the very risky position of passing really bad legislation at the last second for no good
00:14:43.200 reason. And I would urge members to vote now. Now, let me be clear. We absolutely need to hold
00:14:48.920 accountable Russia, China, whoever wants to interfere with our process of developing a vaccine or cyber
00:14:54.800 hack us in any other way. And there are an enormous number of tools to do so. I do want to point out
00:15:00.420 and just simply make an urgent plea. One of the gentleman's arguments was that China hid the true risk
00:15:07.880 of the virus from the American people. And yes, that is terrible that China did that.
00:15:14.380 It's not actually their job to warn the American people. It's the president's job to warn the American
00:15:20.360 people. Unbelievable. He this is such a this is such a leftist dude thing to do is you make a point
00:15:29.840 that's like somewhat mainstream and then you totally undercut that point with a snarky comment.
00:15:34.980 You know, it's like not really my job to do that. OK, but anyway, it's fine. I'm not going to complain
00:15:39.820 about it or anything. That's not good. It's so lame. And in this case, also just incorrect,
00:15:45.780 because the way that China covered up this virus was they bought off the World Health Organization
00:15:50.680 and then they got the World Health Organization to lie on their behalf. But it very much is the
00:15:55.260 responsibility of the World Health Organization to tell everybody when there's an epidemic brewing
00:15:59.600 in some country. And the reason that the WHO didn't do that is because it was invaded and it was it was
00:16:07.400 hollowed out from within by China. Imagine that, though. Imagine taking the side of an international
00:16:14.800 foe over your duly elected president. You know, Ronald Reagan used to have this this dichotomy he would
00:16:22.660 refer to and say we don't have enemies in American politics, only opponents. You know, we only it seems
00:16:28.860 like a distinction without a difference. But what he's saying there is we are not the enemies of
00:16:34.520 each other. Democrats are not our enemies. Republicans are not the Democrats enemies.
00:16:38.300 We were fighting political battles, but our real enemies are abroad and we need to be united in the
00:16:43.620 face of them. And the Democrats have totally given that up. Maybe they never believed that to begin
00:16:48.860 with. Maybe it was only Republicans who believed that. But but we're seeing it now. And
00:16:53.740 the Democrats have been defending China for a very, very long time. That's the kind of hatred that they
00:17:02.260 have for this president, that they will defend China, for goodness sakes. So what is President
00:17:08.840 Trump going to do? The only thing he can do, the only campaign he has left available to him
00:17:12.080 are these briefings. That's what he's got to communicate directly to the people. And what you're
00:17:18.720 going to see the left trying to do the whole time is just distracting with all these sorts of little
00:17:22.400 side issues or kind of, you know, gossip stories or. So one of them in particular is the arrest of
00:17:29.460 Ghislaine Maxwell. Ghislaine Maxwell was the the associate of Jeffrey Epstein, even though Ghislaine
00:17:37.340 Maxwell is extraordinarily closely tied to major Democrats, most notably Bill Clinton, because she's been
00:17:45.780 photographed with Donald Trump when she was, you know, she and Jeffrey Epstein were at Mar-a-Lago and
00:17:51.460 various other places like that. They're trying to tie Trump much more to Ghislaine Maxwell than Bill
00:17:57.400 Clinton, who actually flew on that jet something like 27 times. They're trying to if you if you watch
00:18:02.800 any of the documentaries about Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, they more or less erase Bill Clinton from
00:18:08.200 them and they only focus on Donald Trump. So so I'm interested in the Ghislaine Maxwell story as a story in
00:18:14.920 itself, because obviously there's this international pedophile ring of extremely wealthy and influential
00:18:19.800 people, notably Prince Andrew or Bill Clinton or whoever. I'm interested in that story. That's not
00:18:26.100 what is being asked of President Trump in these press briefings. They're trying to pull him back into it.
00:18:31.280 How does President Trump respond to the Ghislaine Maxwell question? I thought it was one of the most
00:18:34.920 entertaining responses of the whole briefing. I haven't really been following it too much. I just wish her
00:18:40.700 well, frankly. I've met her numerous times over the years, especially since I lived in Palm Beach and
00:18:46.260 I guess they lived in Palm Beach. But I wish her well, whatever it is. I don't know the situation
00:18:52.200 with Prince Andrew. Just don't know. Not aware of it. Great answer. It's a very funny answer. I wish
00:18:58.460 her well. He's not he's not covering anything up here. He's not trying to give this really perfectly
00:19:03.760 manicured political answer. He goes, oh, yeah, I hope she does. I wish her well. Yeah, I knew her over the
00:19:08.400 years. I saw her in Palm Beach a number of times. And you'll remember, I think it was in 2015,
00:19:13.800 President Trump predicted that the Epstein relationship was going to be particularly
00:19:18.100 tough for the Clintons. Trump has always been open about his Epstein relationship. The Clintons
00:19:24.580 have tried to cover up their Epstein relationship. So he's just putting on the table. Yeah, I hope she's
00:19:29.080 doing well. I don't know. See what happens. But but that's that's not on me. Don't worry about you
00:19:35.040 guys. Moving on. We're going to talk about what really matters in this campaign. And that's got
00:19:40.580 to be the attitude for all of these briefings. I hope he does one almost every single day.
00:19:44.960 That is going to be one of the only way that he can win this election, probably. And two,
00:19:51.040 it's probably the only entertainment we've got because TV is shut down, right? Hollywood is shut
00:19:56.560 down. And even our sports, which are slowly starting back up again, are totally selling out.
00:20:02.320 You know, the NFL is unwatchable now is they hate America and they encourage players to disrespect
00:20:09.440 the American flag. NBA is encouraging players to wear this Marxist slogan, BLM. The one holdout was
00:20:19.620 baseball, America's favorite pastime. It was the one holdout. There had only been one player who was
00:20:25.320 some no name loser a few years ago who took a knee during the national anthem. All the rest of them,
00:20:31.200 good patriotic Americans. But BLM, disrespect for the American flag, has come to baseball.
00:20:40.660 The players are now kneeling to an empty stadium. And somebody tells me the stadiums are going to
00:20:46.040 empty even when they remain open. People don't like this kind of stuff. Major League Baseball not
00:20:52.560 only tolerated this, they tweeted out a photo of the Giants kneeling down. It said members of the San
00:20:59.320 Francisco Giants kneel during the national anthem. Hashtag Black Lives Matter. Black Lives Matter,
00:21:05.660 a very particular organization run by self-avowed Marxists seeking to destroy, quote, the Western
00:21:12.020 prescribed nuclear family. That's baseball for you. You know, I think the whole point of baseball is you
00:21:17.080 go there with your son, right? You take your kid down to the ballpark and have a hot dog and a beer and
00:21:21.840 you watch the ball game. And so much of baseball is about the nuclear family. Now they're embracing
00:21:27.560 people who want to destroy the nuclear family. Doesn't make a lot of sense. I canceled my MLB TV
00:21:33.980 subscription. I would encourage other people to do that as well. I don't think it really matters
00:21:39.140 very much. You know, I don't think people exercising their free choice with their wallets
00:21:45.500 is going to matter as much as just the, this is a symbol of how the sport has been hollowed out.
00:21:53.960 MLB's problems have been going on for a long time. Viewership has been declining. It's just,
00:22:00.020 I don't know, I think the caving into this political pressure is more a consequence of the
00:22:05.420 collapse of baseball than a cause of it. And of course, you know, some people are accusing
00:22:11.820 conservatives of being hypocritical here for being part of cancel culture because we don't like the
00:22:15.660 political message. Cancel culture is leftist by definition because cancel culture requires you to
00:22:22.440 have what an early Marxist political philosopher would have called cultural hegemony, what we call
00:22:29.460 institutional power. They're the ones who control the institutions. It's kind of a flip of the leftist
00:22:34.600 argument on institutional racism or something, something like that, institutional oppression.
00:22:39.500 Conservatives can go along with cancel culture. They can go along, you know, jump on a bandwagon,
00:22:44.280 but they don't actually control the cancel culture. It is a strictly leftist phenomenon.
00:22:50.480 And there's another point on this, which I think the term cancel culture is so wishy-washy. It's so
00:22:56.720 ambiguous sometimes. I think a way to consider it for all the various ways that we could define
00:23:03.100 cancel culture is the way Chesterton described thought. He said, there's a thought that stops thought,
00:23:07.920 and that's the only thought that ought to be stopped. Well, there is a culture that cancels
00:23:11.600 culture, and that is the only culture that ought to be canceled. There is a culture, and it's, I'm not
00:23:15.900 just saying cancel, cancel culture, which has become a slogan. I'm actually going a little bit further
00:23:20.140 than that. Any culture, such as say the BLM Marxists who want to destroy our American flag, who want to
00:23:29.400 disrespect the American flag, dismantle the nuclear family. That is the, that is the destruction of
00:23:33.980 culture. That culture has to be canceled. Any, this is kind of my argument on, on why it's incoherent to
00:23:40.780 burn the American flag. You're using your First Amendment rights to burn the symbol of the country
00:23:45.340 that gives you your First Amendment rights. It doesn't make any sense. That's why I would advocate,
00:23:50.760 as many Republicans have, an interpretation of the laws or a constitutional amendment that would
00:23:55.660 prohibit such acts of desecration. Which, which conservatives argued, by the way, until not so long ago,
00:24:02.620 when Justice Scalia sided with the more liberal-minded members of the court and reinterpreted the laws,
00:24:08.060 but even, even granted that. You could always have a constitutional amendment. You, it is insufficient
00:24:15.660 just to say the battlefield is neutral. It's not neutral. Oh, leave our hands, you do whatever you
00:24:22.140 want to do, I'll do whatever I want to do, and we're fine. That's not how society works. We actually
00:24:26.920 do have an effect on one another. The left has a form and a substance to their politics.
00:24:33.440 They have the form of like the rioting and the burning down the cities and the slogans and all
00:24:36.560 that stuff, and the substance. They actually want to accomplish something. Conservatives have convinced
00:24:41.400 ourselves in the last 30 years that, that it should only have form, that we should only, only stand for
00:24:47.580 free speech, but not stand for any speech in particular. You have to have both. You have to have both
00:24:52.780 the form and the substance. Conservatives need to wake on up to that. I think some conservatives are
00:24:58.660 lulling themselves into complacency because they believe that Joe Biden is a kind of moderate guy.
00:25:05.440 He's not Bill de Blasio. He's not Elizabeth Warren. He's not Bernie Sanders. He's just a kind of moderate
00:25:11.500 guy, right? Therefore, it doesn't really matter if Trump wins. Joe Biden is not awake. Joe Biden
00:25:19.260 doesn't remember his name sometimes. Joe Biden's campaign is being run by radicals. Don't take
00:25:26.780 my word for it. Campaign just issued its spending plan. You know how expensive the Joe Biden campaign
00:25:32.520 spending plan is? The moderate campaign spending plan? $10 trillion. $10 trillion with a T. $2 trillion
00:25:43.520 to fight climate change. So 20%, $2 trillion of that price tag is going to be spent launching a battle
00:25:53.440 against the sun monster. $1.3 trillion for infrastructure. I can actually get behind infrastructure
00:25:59.120 in theory, except that usually that money is just completely wasted. You know, you're driving on the
00:26:04.240 highway and you see 15 guys standing around doing nothing and then one guy maybe swinging a hammer.
00:26:09.500 And you say, that's the government union job. There it is. So in theory, it's maybe it's okay,
00:26:15.180 but in practice, probably not. $750 billion for healthcare. I thought, I thought Barack Obama and
00:26:20.800 Joe Biden solved the healthcare problem. What was it now? 10 years ago? 11 years ago? Remember Joe Biden
00:26:29.920 himself said, this is a big effing deal. Why, how come we need to spend three quarters of a trillion
00:26:35.680 dollars on healthcare if you already solved it 10, 11 years ago? Because there's no end to it.
00:26:39.220 There's no solving it. There's no solving it with, it's just going to be more and more and more
00:26:43.000 money. $750 billion for higher education. That's what we need. We need to send three quarters of a
00:26:49.900 trillion dollars to our modern day madrasas, the madrasas of liberalism to, to borrow a phrase
00:26:55.880 from my friend, Josh Hammer, who these schools, all they do is indoctrinate people in leftist ideology.
00:27:03.800 A lot of money for that. $700 billion for Biden's Buy American plan, which apparently he stole from
00:27:08.220 Bernie Sanders. $640 billion for housing, $125 billion for Biden's opioid plan. What is the
00:27:14.700 Biden's, what is the opioid plan? Last time I could tell, all the left is trying to do is legalize more
00:27:20.080 and more drugs. Maybe they're going to, maybe it's $125 billion to legalize them. $30 billion for
00:27:24.240 criminal justice reform means springing, springing inmates out of prisons. Although frankly, Republicans
00:27:29.260 aren't any better on that. And $750 billion for preschool and K through 12, which is where most of the
00:27:35.840 educational battles are really fought. It happens that the indoctrination happens long before college.
00:27:41.060 So three quarters of a trillion for that. And then more than three quarters of a trillion for universal
00:27:46.140 preschool, expanded childcare, you know, get those kids out of the home as soon as possible,
00:27:51.680 get them into state sponsored education camps, 10 trillion on all sorts of bad stuff.
00:27:59.780 Those are the stakes. Don't let anybody tell you that Joe Biden is going to be the moderate guy.
00:28:05.580 That's not moderate. The moderation is gone. Joe Biden is a guy who doesn't want to do anything
00:28:09.520 as president. He wants to be president. He wants bridges to be named after him and highways to be
00:28:13.840 named after him. He's going to let all the policymaking be done by the younger people who are much,
00:28:18.720 much more radical. Speaking of radical, you know, one of the few voices of reason recently
00:28:25.980 in politics is Kanye West. I know that sounds crazy. I never expected that to happen.
00:28:31.980 Kanye West, who's always been a little kooky in his career, is saying things in politics now
00:28:37.200 that are extraordinarily wise. He's against abortion. He's pro-God. He supports America. So we wore the
00:28:47.700 Make America Great Again hat. He realizes that politics is about more than just technocratic policies.
00:28:54.480 It's about a view of the human person in the world. He's been saying a lot of great things.
00:29:01.020 And so everyone's calling him crazy. Everybody's calling him crazy. Now, Kanye has certain issues,
00:29:09.140 psychological issues. But listen to the note. This is from Kanye's wife, Kim Kardashian,
00:29:14.440 Kim Kardashian West, who posted this to social media just yesterday. As many of you know, Kanye has
00:29:20.200 bipolar disorder. Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does this,
00:29:24.140 knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand. Then she goes on and says all
00:29:27.900 sorts of nice things about Kanye. We as a society talk about giving grace to the issue of mental
00:29:31.820 health as a whole. However, we should also give it to the individuals who are living with it
00:29:35.660 in times when they need it the most. Sure, totally agree with that. That's fine. I'm not questioning
00:29:40.800 Kim Kardashian West's care for her husband. And I'm not questioning that Kanye has had very public
00:29:49.360 psychological issues in the past. However, in the past, when Kanye has done or said actually crazy
00:29:57.120 things, people are pretty quiet about it. You know, they'll laugh about it or maybe they'll
00:30:03.480 criticize him. They won't concern troll him. But when Kanye West says basic things like babies are
00:30:10.040 babies and we shouldn't kill them or God exists and we should, we should do good things and not do bad
00:30:15.780 things. Or when he says, I like America, I love America, pretty basic things. Then everyone goes
00:30:24.780 out and says, he's insane. You got to lock him up. You got to shut him up. That is the sign not of an
00:30:30.760 insane Kanye. Whether, whether or not Kanye is sane or insane or how sane he is or how insane he is.
00:30:37.520 That is a, that's the baseline. What's changed here is he's saying things that are true. That is the sign
00:30:45.540 of an insane culture. And, uh, I, I think we should, of course, encourage Kanye to live a wonderful,
00:30:52.980 good life and take care of himself and his family. And we should also encourage him to continue saying
00:30:58.280 the basic true things that not that long ago, everyone would have agreed on. But in this lunatic
00:31:03.740 culture, people seem to think is crazy. We have got to get to the mailbag first though. I've got to

00:32:59.560 Giovanna. Michael, if history repeats itself, what portion of history are we seeing play out right now?
00:33:05.500 The French Revolution, the Civil War era, the rise of the Soviet Union. Looking forward
00:33:09.600 to hearing your thoughts. Thank you for all you do. Yes, we are seeing those things play out right
00:33:15.360 now. You're right that history can repeat itself, especially if people don't learn their history
00:33:22.780 and Americans don't read a lot of history anymore. And Marx and Engels were actually right when they
00:33:28.180 said history repeats itself first as tragedy, then as farce. And we're seeing the kind of farcical
00:33:33.220 version of all of those terrible events now. But farce can be pretty dangerous too on the political
00:33:37.600 stage. We're seeing a little bit of the French Revolution with the overthrowing of tradition
00:33:42.520 and the intense hatred of the leader of the country, Donald Trump, and with actual explicit
00:33:49.380 calls for the guillotine. And they renamed that autonomous zone CHOP. That's not a great sign.
00:33:53.420 We're seeing some aspects of the rise of the Soviet Union in the sense that we've got no faith really
00:33:59.380 in our government institutions or declining faith. And some people are calling for out and out
00:34:03.280 communist revolution, including the leaders of BLM, who are trained Marxists, to use their
00:34:07.880 own words. We're seeing some signs of the Civil War, right? People just really in America really
00:34:12.920 hate one another. We're seeing some signs of the fall of Rome. This is one issue with people who
00:34:19.420 don't know much about history, is they compare everything to the fall of Rome. However, I got to
00:34:24.260 tell you, as someone who is a history buff, there are some similarities to the fall of Rome.
00:34:29.180 You're not going to look at any particular historical event and say, this is what's
00:34:33.760 playing out again. This is why we need to read broadly into history. It's because you can see
00:34:37.640 the individual aspects that we're being reminded of now. If history actually just repeated itself
00:34:46.600 perfectly, we could predict it and prevent it. But that's not quite what happens. That's why it
00:34:51.560 surprises us a lot of the time. And that's why a broader reading, a broad and a deep reading into
00:34:56.760 history will give you a better sense of what's going on. It'll also calm you down. I have friends
00:35:00.720 who, you know, they pull their hair out because Trump did this or Hillary did that. And they're
00:35:05.500 just, they get so angry about it. And they're so, and a lot of that is because they're scared about
00:35:09.700 what's going to happen in the future. And they'll say, this has never happened. It's unprecedented.
00:35:13.540 But if you have a reading of history, you will know that there's very little that is actually
00:35:19.660 unprecedented. And you can see the consequences of when similar things play out. And just from a
00:35:25.400 personal standpoint, it will keep you a little calmer. It will keep more hair on your head.
00:35:29.120 It will, it will make you, make you feel a little better. Even, even as we plunge into the abyss
00:35:34.780 from Sam. Hey, Michael, I'm a huge fan. And I think you definitely have the best show on the
00:35:38.780 daily wire. Thank you, Sam. Due to my being busy with schooling and military life, I have a couple
00:35:43.460 different dating apps in my profiles. I explicitly state how I am in the national guard. I'm a gun
00:35:48.240 enthusiast because those things are important to me. However, I think it's having a negative impact on who I
00:35:52.840 match with. I've gotten many nasty messages about how I'm pro-fascism or I'm pro-shootings because of
00:35:58.120 my interests. I'm dating to marry. So I would like whoever I date to be on board with my lifestyle.
00:36:02.900 What should I do? Do I take those things off my dating profiles and tell whoever I go out with
00:36:07.380 that I'm pro-gun later? Or should I just leave it on and hope for the best? It sort of depends on
00:36:14.160 your age and your timeline. Because when you're, when you're dating in middle school or high school,
00:36:20.020 and then let's say you end up getting married later on, just, just to use a hypothetical example,
00:36:26.540 then not only will the views of your beloved change, but your own views are going to change
00:36:31.380 as well. And you're going to grow together with a person. And so I just think putting all your cards
00:36:35.720 on the table, it's not always necessary. The older you are and the tighter the timescale of getting
00:36:41.240 married, the less you're likely to change and the more you need to kind of be on the same page from
00:36:48.440 the beginning. So it depends. If you're, if you're 18 years old, maybe downplay it a little bit,
00:36:54.240 possibly. If you're 25 years old, 20, 27 years old, then I would maybe be more likely to put it
00:37:01.480 on the table because I would lean in the direction of putting everything on the table. You don't want
00:37:05.880 there to be too much confusion. You don't want to waste time. You don't want to waste money on dates
00:37:09.120 that aren't going to go anywhere. However, one issue with the left is they actually don't understand
00:37:16.240 what the right thinks. So if you downplay it a little bit, you might be able to get past the kind
00:37:23.220 of prejudices that leftists have. So they get to know you as a person. They realize you're not a
00:37:27.260 terrible, awful fascist, Nazi, whatever. And then they will come around to realize, oh, maybe I've been
00:37:32.340 lied to about these points of view. As all things in, in human interactions, circumstance plays a large
00:37:39.460 role here. But I would, I would lean more on the side of being forthright than, than hiding things.
00:37:45.620 Just remember, you're supposed to be innocent as a serpent, wise as a dove and innocent as a serpent.
00:37:51.860 From Michael, greetings, Michael Knowles, mostly peaceful, austere religious scholar. My question
00:37:56.920 concerns the Bible. In Matthew, Jesus reinforces and specifies the rules for man to live by. He talks
00:38:01.740 about divorce. It says any man who marries a divorced woman is committing adultery. Can you talk about why he
00:38:06.440 might have said that or why that is the case? Thanks for all you do. P.S. Ghislaine Maxwell did
00:38:10.800 not suicide herself in the back of the head twice. Not yet, not yet. This is a hard saying
00:38:16.560 from Christ. And so a lot of people don't want to believe that he means what he says he did, but I
00:38:22.400 think he does mean that. And there are a lot of hard sayings and Christ talks about how there are hard
00:38:26.560 sayings. This is one of the few times in the gospels where Christ explicitly gives a point of view on a very
00:38:33.580 human matter, on a very practical human matter, in very blunt terms. Often Christ is speaking in
00:38:41.760 parables and here he's being very direct. And he says, man and woman, they were made to leave their
00:38:50.500 families and join together. And what God has joined, let no man separate and don't get divorced.
00:38:56.500 And he responds to people who say, but the law of Moses says we can get divorced. And he says, right,
00:39:00.320 because of the hardness of your heart, God gave you that law, but it was not so from the beginning.
00:39:04.460 Don't get divorced. And so you shouldn't get divorced. Now there, there are some questions
00:39:09.400 here. First of all, in the case of certain marriages, a separation can be beneficial or even
00:39:17.860 required. You know, in the case of abuse or something, endangering the kids, you might have
00:39:22.320 to separate. That's not the same as divorce necessarily. And there are implications for how you
00:39:28.320 live your life after that kind of a separation. In some cases, marriages are not valid from the
00:39:33.400 beginning. This is why there is the process of annulment. What annulment is recognizing is not
00:39:38.000 that something's gone wrong in your marriage later on, but that something was illegitimate about it
00:39:43.440 before the marriage actually took place. So there is that process in the church as well.
00:39:48.380 In some cases, people say they're getting married, but it's not, it isn't a marriage. The thing that they
00:39:53.600 are talking about is not really a marriage in the sacramental sense and in the sense that Christ
00:39:59.420 is talking about. You know, I'm speaking about this from the perspective of, you know, 2,000 years
00:40:07.000 of the Catholic church getting down very into the specifics on this sort of thing. Other varietals
00:40:13.880 of Christian profession have, have different views on this sort of thing. I would encourage you,
00:40:19.580 even if you're not Catholic, explore the Catholic view on this because there is, you know, 2,000
00:40:25.140 years of literature on it to help explain what is a hard saying. From Alice, hi, Michael, what do
00:40:30.560 conservatives need to do to make sure that we don't turn into everything we dislike about the radical
00:40:33.980 left, assuming the country is eventually mended and the leftist movement dies down? We need to stop
00:40:39.360 worrying about that question so much. And what I mean by that is what we've convinced ourselves,
00:40:44.460 I mentioned this earlier in the show, is that politics only has form. It doesn't have substance.
00:40:49.660 So we've said, you know, for instance, we don't like it when the left tells us that evil things
00:40:53.820 are good and tries to make the government shove that down our throats. So therefore, we should
00:40:58.900 not say that good things are good and recognize that all law has a moral quality to it and therefore
00:41:06.080 assume our roles as legislators when we win elections. That doesn't follow. That doesn't make any sense at
00:41:12.380 all. When you say that, for instance, you can't legislate morality, which is a nonsense,
00:41:16.460 right? All laws legislate morality. Or when you say, I can't tell people what a good thing is,
00:41:20.800 which is what the government does, right? Even if you're trying not to, even if you're saying the
00:41:25.720 government should not say what the good thing is, you are saying what a good thing is, right? You are
00:41:29.640 making a moral claim and a claim about politics. All that does is cede the ground to the left.
00:41:35.960 We need to have the courage to exercise political power when it is given to us by the people.
00:41:41.660 And I think sometimes conservatives forget that courage is a virtue. It's actually a prerequisite
00:41:47.660 of all the other virtues. From Peter. Dear Novenophobic Covfefe, while I generally agree
00:41:52.680 with your take on current topics, I must say your opinion on the nude Portland protester is lacking
00:41:57.440 something. Wokeness. You repeatedly refer to this protester as she and woman and female and refer to
00:42:04.080 her genitalia. Now, I didn't see the frontal view of this protester, but can we really be certain this
00:42:09.340 wasn't a man showing his genitals and his breasts to officers in protest of whatever it is he was
00:42:14.240 protesting? Maybe this person identifies as a man. I stand corrected. Thank you for that, that
00:42:22.440 brotherly, that fraternal correction. I am sorry and I apologize to all the great deities of wokeness.
00:42:30.260 From Jared. Hi, Michael. The other day, Clavin mentioned that he did not believe that Jesus
00:42:33.900 Christ was perfect, was a perfect human being, which really took me by surprise, but maybe shouldn't
00:42:38.920 have. What is your take on Christ's humanity and divinity? Appreciate your time and consistent
00:42:42.580 effort. Looking forward to your response. God bless. So I went back and listened to Drew's
00:42:46.420 bid on this because I had heard from a couple people that he had said this. And because we
00:42:52.720 got to save the Clavin, I actually haven't gotten to have a stogie with Drew in a few days.
00:42:56.780 What Drew was not saying is that Christ committed sin. He was not saying that. Christ is sinless and
00:43:02.840 Drew is acknowledging that. Really, this was a bit of a semantic quibble about the meaning of the word
00:43:07.080 perfect. Christ is exactly who he is to be. And Drew acknowledges that as well, which I would
00:43:16.880 describe as perfect and which traditionally I think is described as perfect. What the point
00:43:22.160 Drew was making is that Christ in his humanity had to learn things. And so he, and Drew actually went
00:43:30.600 further on this point than I would go. However, that's kind of neither here nor there. You can go
00:43:36.000 listen to what Drew said. But in as much as Drew was saying Christ in his humanity had to learn
00:43:41.080 things, that is obviously the case. We know that he grows in wisdom as he matures and grows up. He's
00:43:49.640 subject to all of humanity. That is the essence of the incarnation. He is also fully divine. What
00:43:56.020 we're discussing here is a mystery called the hypostatic union. This is the union of Christ's
00:44:02.680 divine nature and his human nature. There were many debates in the early church about this.
00:44:09.160 And there were many heretics like the Arian heretics, Arius being the Heresiarch who got
00:44:13.060 punched by Santa Claus at the Council of Nicaea because he denied Christ's divinity. Some people
00:44:18.800 said Christ is fully God and not human. It's only an illusion that he's human. And some people said
00:44:24.600 Christ is fully human and not God. He's just, you know, really holy or something like Arius.
00:44:29.900 Actually, he is fully God and fully man. And so he is perfect and he is sinless and he is fully human
00:44:40.360 in his human nature and subject to all of that which we are subject to as humans. It would be
00:44:48.020 difficult to sum all of that up in 30 seconds or so. Impossible, you might say. One cannot comprehend it
00:44:53.700 because we are comprehended by God himself, right? So we, in our finite minds, we cannot comprehend
00:44:59.760 infinity. But we can say, and I think this is the point that's trying to make, that Drew was making
00:45:05.840 on his show. Christ in his human nature was subject to finitude while Christ in his divine nature, of
00:45:14.640 course, is not. Last question from Nick. Dear Michael, we usually are so aligned in our beliefs,
00:45:21.800 but I really think you got it wrong when you scolded Joe Biden for pushing Islam in our public
00:45:27.020 schools. You may disagree, but I for one believe that Islam is right about women. I long for a
00:45:32.500 society where women must ask my permission before leaving the house with only one simple outfit to
00:45:37.740 choose from. My wife's credit card bill would fall to nearly zero, not to mention how much we would
00:45:43.080 save on makeup. And just think of how much faster my morning commute will be once we've revoked all of
00:45:48.180 their driver's licenses. Don't you see now why we need Joe in 2020? You know what, Nick? I can't
00:45:54.340 argue with that. He makes, he's making a better argument than, than much of the democratic campaign
00:45:59.800 apparatus. That is our show. On that, on that very sophisticated point, we will leave it there. I will
00:46:05.280 see you. I'll see you tomorrow actually for the backstage and then I'll see you on Monday. I'm
