00:00:30.000 The left is feeling a lot of emotions after President Trump's COVID diagnosis.
00:00:36.400 They're feeling a little bit of sympathy, just a little bit.
00:00:39.600 They're feeling a lot of happiness.
00:00:41.480 We'll get to that.
00:00:42.440 And mostly what they're feeling is self-righteousness.
00:00:46.660 Jake Tapper over at CNN sums up perfectly all of the sanctimony.
00:00:51.340 Many Americans are likely feeling both sympathy and anger today,
00:00:55.680 emotions that don't necessarily mix well.
00:00:57.720 Sympathy for all of those suffering, including President Trump, who remains at Walter Reed Medical Center.
00:01:04.040 But also anger, because so much, so much of all this pain could have been avoided.
00:01:09.640 So many of us since March have been doing everything we can to preserve the health of not only ourselves and our families,
00:01:16.480 but our communities, our neighbors, you.
00:01:21.340 Social distancing, wearing masks, holding events remotely.
00:01:26.420 Weddings have been canceled.
00:01:28.020 Jobs lost.
00:01:29.080 Children are missing out on in-person education and their ability to see friends.
00:01:36.300 It's a real crisis.
00:01:37.460 It's going to leave scars.
00:01:38.900 The president has been undermining these efforts, expressing disdain for health regulations and those who abide by them.
00:01:45.940 The Americans who don't listen to science or medicine, who think masks are too intrusive,
00:01:51.060 who pack bars, who willfully risk spreading the virus,
00:01:54.100 You are making it worse for all of us.
00:01:58.280 You are extending how long this pandemic will last.
00:02:02.080 None of that is true.
00:02:03.920 None of that is true.
00:02:05.440 It seems Jake Tapper knows even less about politics than he does about viruses.
00:02:11.560 He just grates on and on.
00:02:14.980 And it's all Trump's fault.
00:02:16.400 And it's all the Trump supporters' fault.
00:02:18.440 And they've ruined their lives.
00:02:20.860 Look, the left has absolutely ruined everyone's education,
00:02:24.780 canceled weddings, stopped seeing grandma.
00:02:27.620 They've ruined everything.
00:02:28.500 And it's still not working because of those Trumpers.
00:02:30.760 They are drawing the complete wrong conclusions from President Trump's diagnosis.
00:02:35.560 And they are making that classic leftist mistake, which we will get to.
00:02:40.540 I'm Michael Knowles.
00:02:41.160 This is The Michael Knowles Show.
00:02:48.440 Welcome back to the show.
00:02:51.580 My favorite comment from Thursday is from Andrew Cooper, who says,
00:02:55.900 President Trump is termed a racist by his political opponents.
00:02:59.700 Joe Biden is termed a racist by his running mate.
00:03:02.160 That's true.
00:03:03.100 That's true.
00:03:03.780 Look at the sort of things that were being said about Joe Biden not so long ago.
00:03:08.220 But now, of course, everybody is rallying behind him.
00:03:11.100 This absolute edifice of lies, this establishment of lies from the mainstream media.
00:03:16.860 Hollywood elected Democrats, the bureaucratic government, the public health experts, the
00:03:22.140 universities, all of it teaming up to completely gaslight us on reality.
00:03:26.860 The left could not be drawing more incorrect conclusions, wronger conclusions from President
00:03:34.260 Trump's COVID diagnosis.
00:03:35.560 Trump, by the way, apparently doing great.
00:03:37.780 He's scheduled to be released from Walter Reed after just a few days.
00:03:42.260 Today, he has been giving shows of strength the whole time.
00:03:46.620 He addressed the nation from Walter Reed.
00:03:50.080 I just didn't want to stay in the White House.
00:03:52.100 I was given that alternative.
00:03:53.940 Stay in the White House.
00:03:55.220 Lock yourself in.
00:03:56.120 Don't ever leave.
00:03:57.060 Don't even go to the Oval Office.
00:03:58.500 Just stay upstairs and enjoy it.
00:04:01.120 Don't see people.
00:04:02.100 Don't talk to people.
00:04:03.220 And just be done with it.
00:04:04.440 And I can't do that.
00:04:06.180 I had to be out front.
00:04:07.680 And this is America.
00:04:09.400 This is the United States.
00:04:10.760 This is the greatest country in the world.
00:04:12.460 This is the most powerful country in the world.
00:04:14.160 I can't be locked up in a room upstairs and totally safe.
00:04:17.860 And just say, hey, whatever happens, happens.
00:04:22.100 I can't do that.
00:04:23.760 We have to confront problems.
00:04:25.280 As a leader, you have to confront problems.
00:04:27.420 There's never been a great leader that would have done that.
00:04:30.980 So that's where it is.
00:04:33.580 I'm doing well.
00:04:35.060 I want to thank everybody.
00:04:36.820 Our First Lady is doing very well.
00:04:38.840 That's where it is.
00:04:41.260 Leaders have to confront problems.
00:04:43.680 And that's what Trump does.
00:04:44.940 It describes his entire presidency.
00:04:47.540 It's not always easy.
00:04:48.920 Think about just the issue of China.
00:04:51.180 For decades, both parties just went along with China.
00:04:56.760 Just go along to get along.
00:04:58.660 They said, ah, maybe it's not good in the long run that we're shipping all of our jobs overseas.
00:05:02.080 But look, there's a little money now.
00:05:03.740 It's easy.
00:05:04.220 We don't want to disrupt things.
00:05:05.460 We don't want to disrupt corporate interests.
00:05:07.720 So let's go along with it.
00:05:08.820 What does Trump do?
00:05:09.420 Throws a wrench in that.
00:05:10.320 Same thing with immigration.
00:05:11.500 Both parties go along to get along on open borders immigration, even though that sort of
00:05:15.840 process is creating human havoc in its wake.
00:05:18.760 It's destroying actually the lives of people who are trying to come over here because of
00:05:22.980 what they have to deal with to get into this country.
00:05:25.500 And it's, of course, weakening the country itself.
00:05:29.160 President Trump deals with it head on, and he's doing the same thing with COVID.
00:05:32.460 I also want to point out there's a lie that's being told by the media that President Trump
00:05:36.500 was a weak leader on COVID, that he made the problem worse.
00:05:41.020 You just heard Jake Tapper say that.
00:05:42.540 President Trump was much more cautious and much more effective on coronavirus than his
00:05:48.160 political opponents were.
00:05:49.760 President Trump shut down travel from China, the source of the virus, when Joe Biden said
00:05:54.440 that that was hysterical xenophobia.
00:05:56.800 Joe Biden would have kept that border open, would have made the virus much, much worse.
00:06:01.080 Nancy Pelosi, at the same time that President Trump was closing the border with China,
00:06:03.900 what was she doing? She was showing up down in Chinatown in San Francisco without a mask,
00:06:08.720 and she said famously, come on down to Chinatown.
00:06:13.120 Absolutely, they were not taking it seriously. Then President Trump cuts off travel from Europe.
00:06:17.260 Again, he was criticized for that. So even as a matter of policy by policy,
00:06:23.040 how did the two sides do? Trump was much more cautious, took this much more seriously
00:06:27.900 than the left. But that's not even my point. That's not even my issue here,
00:06:32.060 because the virus has been very different than a lot of people thought that it would.
00:06:36.340 President Trump knows that, by the way. He's now gone through the ringer. And he gave an update,
00:06:41.720 a second update from Walter Reed. The language he uses to describe this virus,
00:06:47.820 the only word that I can use for it is very interesting.
00:06:51.380 It's been a very interesting journey. I learned a lot about COVID. I learned it by really going to
00:06:58.260 school. This is the real school. This isn't the, let's read the book school. And I get it. And I
00:07:03.920 understand it. And it's a very interesting thing. I'm going to be letting you know about it. In the
00:07:09.060 meantime, we love the USA and we love what's happening. Thank you.
00:07:13.180 A vaguer statement has never been. It's a very interesting thing. And yeah,
00:07:17.540 it's interesting. It's not boring. I tell you, it's this, it's that. Notice he didn't say it's
00:07:22.360 terrible. It's the, it's the worst disease ever. I'm in tatters. Notice he looks pretty strong. He
00:07:28.140 looks okay. He was only in that hospital for a few days. Now let's hope and pray that he continues to
00:07:33.560 get better because obviously for some people who've had the virus, it's been very serious. But for the
00:07:38.420 vast, vast majority of people who have had the virus, it hasn't been particularly tough. For a
00:07:45.080 huge number of people, some, some surveys showing up to 50%, they don't even show symptoms or very,
00:07:51.980 very, very mild symptoms. And then for over 99% of people who get the virus, they'll recover totally
00:07:57.660 fine. And even president Trump, who's in a risk category, he's a little bit older. He eats a lot of
00:08:02.480 fast food. You can just see it on the video. That was the point of putting out those videos.
00:08:06.820 He's doing pretty good. He looks pretty strong. I don't know what it is. It's maybe something in
00:08:14.840 his diet. You know, I, you know, he says that he draws strength from a McDonald's French fries
00:08:20.220 and he draws strength from not exercising. I have a, I guess an analogous exercise regimen,
00:08:25.000 which is I draw a lot of strength from wine, which is why I love First Leaf. First Leaf just picks out
00:08:30.800 magnificent wines and they give you a totally reasonable price for it. You know, you know the
00:08:35.200 feeling you're sitting at home, you're finishing a glass of wine just as you're about, you're
00:08:39.500 reaching out to pour another one. You realize there's no backup bottle. This is called no
00:08:43.980 vinophobia. This is the fear of running out of wine. Well, you don't need to deal with that anymore.
00:08:48.180 Thanks to First Leaf. I get personalized boxes of wine shipped right to my door. Here's how you can
00:08:52.900 get incredible wine without leaving the comfort of your home. Very simple. You take a wine quiz to
00:08:58.380 assess your taste in wine, but then First Leaf doesn't always totally believe you, right? Because very often
00:09:03.340 people don't know how to describe their palate. So they'll give you things generally like you
00:09:06.300 described, but maybe they'll throw in one there that, I don't know, let's see, because you like
00:09:09.520 this, maybe you try this. And they did this for me. I poured out a bottle. I said, I'm not going to
00:09:13.860 like this. Then I took a sip. I said, oh my gosh, turns out that the wine experts over at First Leaf
00:09:18.160 know a little bit more about wine than I do. Then you keep giving ratings and they refine the future
00:09:23.140 shipments. Really great stuff. Really, really high quality wine. You can choose what you want
00:09:27.700 right in out of your next box. First Leaf updates the inventory every month. So you're not going to get
00:09:32.700 bored of anything like that. Has a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Sign up today. Get six bottles of
00:09:38.920 wine for only $29.95 plus free shipping. Go to tryfirstleaf.com slash Knowles, K-N-W-L-E-S. That is
00:09:45.380 six bottles of wine for $29.95. That is incredibly inexpensive. Tryfirstleaf.com slash Knowles.
00:09:53.940 So important for President Trump to show strength, which he did. Now the left is attacking him because
00:10:00.340 there was this huge rally of people praying for him and cheering him on right outside the hospital.
00:10:04.700 And President Trump just took a quick little jaunt around in the Secret Service vehicle and they're
00:10:10.520 driving around and he's waving to the supporters. Another very important thing to do. You've got this
00:10:15.960 global pandemic such as it is. You've got the leader of the free world has it. He has got to show people
00:10:22.280 that he's okay. That is a very important matter of statecraft. And so he does that. And so CNN accuses
00:10:29.580 him of putting the lives of his Secret Service agents in danger.
00:10:35.140 Doing instead in doing this PR move to show his supporters that he is doing all right is he is
00:10:40.880 putting the lives of Secret Service agents at risk. We saw there were at least two Secret Service
00:10:45.860 agents in the vehicle in which the president was riding in. They were wearing those N95 respirators,
00:10:51.380 but that was it. That is not the kind of protocols that are happening at the building behind me at
00:10:57.240 Walter Reed, where we've been told that the doctors who have to go into the room with the
00:11:00.880 president to treat him, they are wearing the full suite of protective gear, which includes not only
00:11:05.540 masks, but some kind of a face shield. It includes gloves. It includes protective equipment on top of
00:11:10.160 their clothing. So obviously there is some risk here that the president is willing to put these
00:11:15.220 Secret Service officers, Secret Service agents through in order to get his public facing objectives.
00:11:20.680 So first off, what that guy just said is a lie. First, just the part about the protective
00:11:25.980 equipment. You can look in at the vehicle, at the photo that CNN is using, and you can see that the
00:11:31.640 Secret Service agents are wearing all of that protective equipment that he says that they're
00:11:35.500 not wearing. You can look at it. They're wearing some kind of gown type thing over their suit.
00:11:39.880 You can see the same thing with the driver. So they've got all of this, two agents in that car.
00:11:43.780 Second point though, I guess this is the bigger point. Does this guy know what the Secret Service
00:11:50.020 is? What they do? The entire job of the Secret Service is to risk their lives for the president.
00:12:00.980 You have to be willing to take a bullet for the president of the United States. That is the job.
00:12:06.780 Now, what some people are saying is there's no reason though that Trump had to take this ride to
00:12:12.660 wave to his supporters. I think there was a huge reason. I think that he has to show strength,
00:12:16.300 not just to his supporters, but to our adversaries overseas who are looking very closely right now.
00:12:20.840 But even beyond that, this CNN guy seems to think that the Secret Service, when Trump is in the
00:12:26.760 hospital, the Secret Service are nowhere to be found. The Secret Service are always around the
00:12:32.460 president. They're always there. There is not, you don't get to run away for a little while and the
00:12:38.200 Secret Service say, okay, bye Mr. President. We'll pick you up in a few hours. They're always there.
00:12:42.400 They're always already being exposed to this sort of thing. CNN is just very upset that President
00:12:48.060 Trump is now enduring this virus. He's in this dangerous age group. He's enduring this virus
00:12:53.340 that they have been fear mongering us all over for the past eight months. And President Trump is
00:12:58.880 looking strong and he's dealing with this head on. Liberals are drawing the complete wrong conclusions
00:13:07.420 from Trump getting COVID. The one point they seem to be showing is, and they've been talking about
00:13:13.920 this on Twitter, on TV news and all these things. They say now that Trump has COVID, now finally,
00:13:19.980 maybe his supporters will take this seriously. The people who didn't want to plunge the entire
00:13:25.400 country into a great depression and shut down everything and stop people from going to their
00:13:29.240 families' funerals and stop kids from going to school and stop elective surgeries and stop
00:13:33.280 important surgeries that are going to lead to higher deaths from things like cancer, for instance,
00:13:38.540 because treatments were not being given while the hospitals were all locked down for COVID.
00:13:43.220 Now maybe those awful people will take this seriously. It always comes back to the masks. You know,
00:13:48.860 they're so obsessed with the masks, the magical cloth mask that nobody wears correctly that is going to
00:13:55.240 protect everybody from the virus. The liberals seem to think, I'll just use the mask as an example,
00:14:01.120 but it's an example. It stands in for all these other measures too. The liberals seem to think
00:14:06.880 that we oppose the mask rules because we don't think that we can get COVID-19. In reality, we oppose
00:14:15.500 the mask rules because we know that we're all going to get COVID-19. Liberals think that we oppose the
00:14:22.560 lockdowns and shutting down school and ruining everybody's life because we think that we could,
00:14:27.260 we could never get it. But it's the opposite of that. It's that we know that these policies that
00:14:33.000 they have put into place are not sufficient to stop a virus because no policies have ever been
00:14:40.060 sufficient to stop a virus because the public health experts that they are deferring to, those
00:14:45.660 people themselves are telling us that these things are not sufficient to stop the virus.
00:14:49.760 Dr. Daniel Griffin at Columbia, just one public health expert among many, but in a left-wing
00:14:55.980 outlet, he admitted this. He told NPR, he said, in the studies, masks fail. Now you're not allowed
00:15:02.460 to say that. Now you're not allowed to say that the masks are not particularly effective at stopping
00:15:07.380 the virus, but listen to why, listen to why. He says, in the studies, masks fail. People don't use
00:15:14.300 them correctly. They touch the front of it. They adjust it. They push it down. I mean, you can see,
00:15:19.600 you know this all the time, probably from your personal life. How often are you washing your masks?
00:15:23.600 Are you watching them every day? Are you washing them twice a day? Probably not. For a lot of
00:15:28.520 people, they have the same dirty mask. They shove it in their pocket. When they walk into a restaurant,
00:15:32.160 they have to put it on. When you use a mask that way, when you're touching your face,
00:15:36.500 when you're actually, Dr. Fauci, early on when he was telling people at that point not to wear masks,
00:15:41.340 because masks, he said, were useless against the virus. This is before he changed his mind and said
00:15:45.120 people should wear masks. But he said that the reason is that you put the mask on and all of a sudden
00:15:49.920 you're touching your face a lot more, which actually could undermine the effectiveness of
00:15:55.020 the masks. So I'm willing to say, just for the sake of argument, let's say that the masks could
00:16:01.660 have a 100% effective rate. They don't. No study shows they have a 100% effective rate, not even
00:16:07.260 close. But let's just say that they did for the sake of argument. My argument against the masks is not a
00:16:13.660 scientific argument. It's a political argument. Because in order for that 100% effective rate to
00:16:18.640 matter, people have to use the masks correctly, which they will not. They simply won't. And Jake
00:16:25.900 Tapper can cry on CNN all he wants about the mean old Republicans who aren't wearing their masks right.
00:16:30.440 By the way, a lot of Democrats aren't wearing their masks right either. But regardless, if your
00:16:36.400 policy requires people to behave 100% perfectly all of the time, that's not much of a policy at all.
00:16:44.820 That policy, this is the classic leftist mistake, is they're ignoring human nature.
00:16:50.380 They think that they can overcome human nature. If the masks only work in this utopian world,
00:16:57.600 then the masks don't work. And that's exactly what this doctor from Columbia is telling NPR.
00:17:01.800 The masks fail in the studies. Sure, maybe it's because humans aren't using it correctly. But guess
00:17:09.480 what? The policies are for humans. Dr. Fauci admitted the same principle beyond the masks when
00:17:15.040 it comes to the vaccines. And we've all been waiting on this vaccine. We went from flatten the
00:17:23.120 curve to find a cure, to find a vaccine. We've all been waiting on this a long time. And it has
00:17:27.800 destroyed our economy. A lot of people are making a lot less money now than they used to. And that's
00:17:32.600 why they've got to switch over to Pure Talk, because you're probably overpaying for your
00:17:36.500 cell phone coverage. If your cell phone plan is with Verizon, ATT, T-Mobile, you are paying way too
00:17:44.740 much for the exact same coverage you would be getting right now with Pure Talk. Now, I know what you
00:17:49.440 heard. You just heard me say you're paying too much for similar coverage that you would get with
00:17:54.440 Pure Talk. That's not what I said. What did I say? I said the exact same coverage, same towers,
00:18:01.980 same networks, but you're paying twice as much. Look at your cell phone bill where it shows the
00:18:06.240 data usage. The average person who switches to Pure Talk is using less than four gigs of data per
00:18:11.740 month. But the big carriers, what are they doing? They're charging you for unlimited data. It's like
00:18:15.500 paying for an entire row on an airplane, but then you only need one seat. Why would you do that?
00:18:19.280 That is how Pure Talk saves the average customer over $400 per year on their wireless service.
00:18:26.080 Unlimited talk, text, and two gigs of data. You know how much you get that for?
00:18:29.020 20 bucks a month. 20 bucks a month. Unbelievable. People who are switching to Pure Talk are saying
00:18:35.240 it is the easiest decision that you will make all day. Head on over, grab your mobile phone,
00:18:40.160 dial pound 250, say Michael Knowles, M-I-C-H-A-E-L-K-N-O-W-L-E-S, like Beyonce.
00:18:44.640 When you do, you will save 50% off your first month. Dial pound 250, say keyword Michael Knowles,
00:18:49.660 Pure Talk, simply smarter wireless. How is that for a segue? I hate to point it out,
00:18:56.380 but that was a great segue. Forget about those masks, okay? Just put the masks aside for a
00:19:01.840 second. Turn to the vaccines. Dr. Fauci was being interviewed by CNN. He was asked about the
00:19:06.720 effectiveness of the vaccine because when we're talking now, now we sound like we're just trying
00:19:10.020 to find a cure. And then finally, when we have a cure, then we can reopen the country. Even though
00:19:14.400 that's a utopian quest in and of itself. But we have this idea that the vaccine is going to solve
00:19:20.240 everything. Vaccines are not 100% effective. Actually, when we're talking about this vaccine,
00:19:25.580 even if we got super duper lucky we found the greatest vaccine, you're still talking about 70%
00:19:31.340 effectiveness? I doubt seriously that any vaccine will ever be 100% protected. The best we've ever done
00:19:39.260 is measles, which is 97 to 98% effective. Oh, that would be wonderful if we get there. I don't
00:19:46.540 think we will. I would settle for a 70, 75% effective vaccine because that would bring you to that level
00:19:54.220 of would be herd immunity level. Okay. Well, that sounds pretty good. If we could look, I mean,
00:20:00.100 you're still saying 30% of people are going to, they're going to get this vaccine and it's not going
00:20:05.040 to be effective and they're going to get COVID and God forbid what happens. So 30%, that's a lot
00:20:09.880 of people, right? However, then you could, if you get to 70, 75%, then you're at that herd immunity
00:20:15.160 level. You know, that, that herd immunity is when the virus has already run through the population.
00:20:20.940 And so the population then is stronger and more resilient against it. Some countries who had
00:20:25.460 intelligent policies on COVID early on, like Sweden, for example, pursued that idea. They said,
00:20:30.380 we're not going to weaken our immunities. We're not going to just hide away in a Purell bubble for the
00:20:34.600 next year of our lives. We're going to go out and treat this like we treat other viruses and we'll
00:20:40.200 see what happens. They were told that the whole country was going to get absolutely knocked down
00:20:44.420 by the virus. Actually, they're doing quite well and we'll see how they do into the future because
00:20:48.700 obviously once you achieve that goal early on, that has better effects down the line. But okay,
00:20:53.660 70, 75%, you get to that herd immunity. That's great. So we'll get the vaccine. We'll get the 70,
00:20:57.620 75%. We'll get the herd immunity. Then we're all good, right? Ah, Fauci says not so fast.
00:21:01.860 If only say 70, 75% of Americans are willing to get the vaccine and it's only say, I think you just
00:21:10.400 said 70, 75% effective, is that going to get us to herd immunity? Unlikely. And that's one of the
00:21:17.060 reasons why we have to make sure we engage the community as we're doing now to get community
00:21:23.880 people to help us, for people to understand that we are doing everything we can to show that it's safe
00:21:30.240 and that it's effective. And it's for the good of them as individuals and in society to take the
00:21:37.240 vaccine. So we have a lot of work to do because as you well know, we've spoken about this intensively
00:21:42.440 in the past. There is a general anti-science, anti-authority, anti-vaccine feeling among some
00:21:49.060 people in this country, an alarmingly large percentage of people, relatively speaking.
00:21:54.480 I think there's an anti-politics problem that's going on among the public health experts.
00:22:01.140 I think, I think, I don't think it's the anti-science problem among the people. I think
00:22:04.740 it's the anti-politics. It's the anti-philosophical. It's the anti-human nature problem that's going on
00:22:10.160 in our scientific community. He says 70, 75% effective vaccine. We've got herd immunity.
00:22:16.680 So the woman says, okay, but what if some people don't take the vaccine? He goes, oh yeah,
00:22:21.560 well then we're not going to get herd immunity. Yeah. She goes, what if only 70, 75% of people
00:22:25.680 take the vaccine that's only 70, 75% effective? He goes, yeah, then we're not going to get herd
00:22:28.920 immunity. So then we're not going to get herd immunity, buddy. That's how it works.
00:22:34.260 I get it. In your ideal utopian world, you could force everybody to get the vaccine and then you
00:22:39.600 get a hundred percent use of it and then you get 70, 75% and then you got herd immunity.
00:22:43.100 But we're not living in that world. We don't have a country where you can just force people who
00:22:46.720 don't want to take a vaccine to take it. At least, at least not in this particular case, right?
00:22:51.560 So, so then what? So then it doesn't work. So then I know people are castigated for saying
00:22:59.600 the vaccine won't be as effective as they're promising, for saying the masks won't be as
00:23:02.640 effective as they're promising. It's not because of any scientific claim. It's a political claim.
00:23:07.580 Human nature has something to say here. No scientist had ever proposed some policy that
00:23:13.240 was going to stop the virus. Okay. You remember the point of the lockdowns was flatten the curve so
00:23:17.480 that we don't overwhelm the hospitals. We never came close to overwhelming the hospitals.
00:23:20.280 The Javits Center emergency hospital in New York was mostly empty. The hospital ship that was sent
00:23:25.180 to New York by the federal government was sent home. Same thing happened in California.
00:23:30.000 Good. We didn't, we didn't, but flattening the curve doesn't reduce the number of cases.
00:23:34.700 The point of this is there are limits to politics. There is no magical policy that is going to stop
00:23:39.700 the virus in its tracks or stop the flu or stop the common cold or stop anything else.
00:23:44.200 Every utopian policy in history has been much worse, much worse than the disease that it promised
00:23:51.960 to cure. And the, the, the left, because they can't get past human nature, because they keep
00:23:59.180 running up against this, they say, but people aren't doing what I want them to do. They're not
00:24:02.800 behaving perfectly. Mind you, these leftists don't behave perfectly themselves, do they?
00:24:07.140 Right. Even notice the, the, the, these left wingers are pretending that if Trump had just
00:24:12.540 worn the mask, no one would get the virus. A lot of left wingers who have worn the mask have gotten
00:24:16.260 the virus. Now they would blame other people to say, well, because it's other people aren't
00:24:19.300 wearing the mask. Well, because other people haven't locked down. Well, because other people
00:24:22.460 went to work. Okay, fine. Sure. Reality contradicted your theory. Reality contradicted your model
00:24:31.340 because human nature is human nature and the left doesn't like human nature. So now they're
00:24:35.600 openly wishing that president Trump would die. Now this is, this is what happens when you've got
00:24:41.160 people on the left who are just stuck in their own ideologies. One thing that can kind of crack you
00:24:46.060 out of your own ideology is taking a cold, hard look at business, which is why I would recommend
00:24:50.620 right now checking out the expert ownership course that the Benham brothers and Jeremy Boring and lots of
00:24:56.600 other people are putting through. There are only two days left to get a discounted ticket to expert
00:25:02.060 ownership live, a virtual conference, October 21st and 22nd featuring world renowned leaders like
00:25:07.260 John Maxwell, the founders of a duck commander and Otterbox, the Benham brothers, and our personal
00:25:13.060 favorite, Jeremy Boring. This two day virtual conference will set you up with the skills you
00:25:17.480 need to lead through crisis. You'll hear stories about the challenges of startup journeys, the tough
00:25:21.740 times that come with any company and how these individuals pushed through failure to come out
00:25:26.340 successful on the other side. I really like this idea because I mean, Jeremy will tell the story
00:25:30.740 just of the Daily Wire. We've gone through some tough times here at the Daily Wire. Jeremy led us
00:25:34.980 through and there's nothing that will smack down a theory quite like going through possible failure
00:25:42.640 as a company. All business leaders have to deal with failures, but it forces you to change your
00:25:49.560 theories. And it's very important because then you can be successful. This is a great lineup. We would

00:26:16.640 spot. Democrats now openly wishing that Trump dies. Zahra Rahim, a former Obama official who also worked
00:26:23.700 on Clinton's presidential campaign, Hillary, not Bill. She tweets out after the president was
00:26:29.820 diagnosed, quote, it's been against my moral identity to tweet this for the past four years,
00:26:34.860 but I hope he dies. And then she's got little stars around the dies, dies. Imagine saying that.
00:26:42.520 Imagine saying that about a fellow person. And this is not just some low level staffer, right? This is
00:26:49.660 an Obama administration official and a high level Clinton presidential official. Imagine if any
00:26:54.660 Republican said this about a Democrat, about the, about the Democratic president, about Barack Obama.
00:26:59.500 Can you imagine it'd be wall to wall coverage? This probably you're only hearing on this show.
00:27:03.480 Max Berger, former staffer for Elizabeth Warren. I can't think of anything more distasteful than
00:27:07.660 wishing death upon another human, except maybe causing preventable mass death because you don't want
00:27:12.040 to damage the stock market or your reelection chances. All jokes aside, I hope the president
00:27:16.500 injects himself with bleach. It's a Liz Warren staffer. By the way, when these people say that
00:27:22.320 Trump has made the virus worse and he caused preventable mass death and all this, ask him
00:27:26.740 how? Ask those people, how did he do that? What did he do? As far as I can tell, people are mostly
00:27:34.480 trying their best in this country. Even the governors and the mayors, they're trying their best. Some have
00:27:38.980 way overreacted, but they're trying their best to protect public health. And most of the policy
00:27:45.620 decisions are defensible. With one exception, Andrew Cuomo in New York sending sick people
00:27:50.760 into nursing homes. That one is absolutely indefensible. Andrew Cuomo, the Democratic governor,
00:27:56.280 darling of the Democratic Party, does have to come to account for that. Other than that,
00:28:02.380 I don't see any example anywhere in the country, but they're convinced Trump is killing people.
00:28:07.660 So what does this mean for Trump? Well, there's a very interesting poll that is just out. The left is
00:28:13.940 celebrating this poll, but they shouldn't. They shouldn't get too cocky because they only read
00:28:17.220 the headline. They didn't read what it really means. This poll could be very, very good news
00:28:22.560 for President Trump. And it's reminding me of that 2016 election when those polls allegedly looked so
00:28:30.180 good for Hillary Clinton. We'll get to what those polls mean in just a second. We will get to a
00:28:35.220 ridiculous attack by a Fox News reporter of all people on the president using the same race hustling
00:28:40.600 trash that we usually get from the left. But in case you didn't get enough politics, last week,
00:28:46.700 this coming Wednesday, October 7th, will be the vice presidential debate between Mike Pence and
00:28:51.020 Kamala Harris. Daily Wire's Matt Walsh will be live reacting to the debate as part of a special
00:28:55.520 edition of All Access Live. Members can join Matt Wednesday night at 8.30 Eastern, 5.30 Pacific at

00:29:35.740 A new NBC News Wall Street Journal poll shows that Biden is up 14 points nationally. Uh-oh.
00:29:53.300 Uh-oh. I don't like that. 53 to 39. Biden up 14 points nationally in early October.
00:29:59.300 But I had deja vu. I don't know what it was. Reading that number, I got deja vu.
00:30:03.600 So I took a look. Molly Hemingway posted this. This is from October 5th. No, I'm sorry. October
00:30:11.820 10th, 2016. Uh, this was, uh, posted at CBS News poll. Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump by 14
00:30:19.000 points nationally. The same number at the same time. And do you know what that number meant
00:30:26.540 in 2016? That number and a buck 50 would get you a cup of coffee. That number was absolutely
00:30:32.660 worthless. Because even though Hillary, she was supposed to have the huge lead, uh, she didn't.
00:30:38.720 And she lost. Very often the left will use polls to demoralize Republicans and try to convince them
00:30:46.180 that it's not even worth showing up to vote because we've already lost. That's what they did in 2016.
00:30:50.700 And they were wrong. But this poll is a little more interesting than that because it shows Biden
00:30:56.280 up 14 points nationally, but it shows Trump gaining in the key swing states. So he's losing
00:31:03.160 ground nationally, but he's gaining in the swing states. The national poll doesn't matter.
00:31:10.780 This election is not held at the national level. It's held at the state level. And then you win the
00:31:16.540 states and you get the electors and then you tally those up and you see who wins.
00:31:21.640 All that matters are those swing states. It doesn't matter how many people in California and New York
00:31:26.880 don't like Trump. The Democrats are already going to win those states. So you look at those swing
00:31:32.080 states, Florida, Pennsylvania, Trump is gaining very, very good news. Democrats are very, very upset
00:31:39.500 about this. The left wing edifice is very upset about this. The blob, the establishment. So they go back
00:31:45.760 to their favorite old strategy. They go back to race hustling. This time, I don't know what is
00:31:50.300 going on at Fox, but this was a Fox news reporter, John Roberts, who approached the press secretary,
00:31:57.120 Kayleigh McEnany, and demanded that President Trump condemn white supremacy.
00:32:02.700 I'd like to ask you for a definitive and declarative statement without ambiguity or deflection.
00:32:10.380 As the person who speaks for the president, does the president denounce white supremacism and groups
00:32:17.240 that espouse it in all their forms? This has been answered yesterday by the president himself,
00:32:22.860 the day before by the president himself on the debate stage. The president was asked this. He said,
00:32:27.160 I've always denounced any form of that. I can go back and read for you in August 2019. In one voice,
00:32:40.660 our nation must condemn racism, bigotry, and white supremacy. In August of 2017, racism is evil and
00:32:46.800 those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white
00:32:51.760 supremacists, and other hate groups. I have an entire list of these quotes that I can go through with you.
00:32:55.800 He has condemned white supremacy more than any president in modern history.
00:33:00.020 Just to clear it up this morning, can you, naming it, make a declarative statement that you
00:33:06.100 denounced, that the president denounces it? I just did. The president has denounced this
00:33:10.120 repeatedly. The president was asked this. You're making, you're contriving a storyline and a narrative.
00:33:15.720 I'm just asking you to put this to rest. Wow. That is the most hack journalism I have ever seen.
00:33:23.860 And it wasn't CNN and it wasn't MSNBC. That was a Fox News guy who like a complete empty suit hack
00:33:33.980 says, does the president condemn white supremacy? She goes, yeah, I'm going to read you a 10th of the
00:33:39.080 times he's condemned it. We played a montage, just a short montage on our show on Thursday.
00:33:44.740 She goes, so yeah, I think it's pretty clear. He's condemned white supremacy
00:33:47.960 dozens and dozens of times. And he goes, yes, but, but are you willing to, to, just to clarify or to
00:33:54.000 clarify what to clarify? Is there, are you kidding me? He's done it dozens of times. She just read it
00:33:58.640 to you. Yes, but he, you're not, you're just, you're reading old quotes, but I want you to do
00:34:03.320 it now. Do it now. Do say what I want you to say. Dance monkey dance. That's what the left is telling
00:34:07.980 you. That's why I just reject the question. You know, we we've done shows. It's funny. We did a show a
00:34:14.340 little while ago. Why is racism wrong? Cause you hear so much nonsense about racism that you forget
00:34:18.940 why racism, racism is wrong because it's an offense against human dignity. That's it. It's very simple.
00:34:23.440 That's it. Okay. We got it. Good. Flip that away. Now, now you know why racism is wrong. You don't
00:34:28.600 need to constantly be reciting these things. The reason that the left does this is to make you say
00:34:35.600 what they want you to say. It's not about the content of what you're saying. It's about the act of
00:34:41.080 them imposing that on you. It's a similar question would be, uh, Kaylee, is the president willing to
00:34:48.680 say that he no longer beats his wife? Um, John, the president does not, has never beat his wife.
00:34:53.660 He does not. Uh, Kaylee, you're deflecting. Can the president please definitively say that he no
00:34:58.480 longer beats his wife. And by, by accepting that premise that you somehow have to condemn white
00:35:05.440 supremacy, that you somehow are implicated in white supremacy or whatever, whatever the new phrase is,
00:35:10.300 bigotry, then you have given the left that point. And Kaylee handled it wonderfully. And this guy,
00:35:19.080 I mean, just absolutely pathetic. And then he goes on Fox news later and does some more grandstanding.
00:35:24.380 He's like little mini Jim Acosta over here. Take a listen to his temper tantrum for all of you on
00:35:29.180 Twitter who were hammering me for answering that quite for asking that question. I don't care
00:35:33.520 because it's a question that needs to be asked. And clearly the president's Republican colleagues a mile
00:35:39.580 away from here are looking for an answer for it too. So stop deflecting, stop blaming the media.
00:35:47.740 I'm tired of it.
00:35:49.240 All right. John, John Roberts is tired of it.
00:35:53.180 I'm tired of it. I'm, I'm tired. It's a question that needs to be asked. It's only been asked 7 million
00:35:57.900 times and he's answered it clearly every single time. I'm not, stop it. Stop being so mean to the
00:36:03.880 media. We're trying to destroy this president and lie about him. And you're not letting us Kaylee.
00:36:08.960 What ridiculous trash. By the way, by the way, President Trump asked to do this again and again
00:36:13.360 and again, he goes on Sean Hannity's show. He called in and he was asked, do you condemn white
00:36:18.600 supremacy? He goes, yes, I condemn white supremacy. He went even so far that he condemned the proud boys
00:36:22.900 and people are reacting in a mixed way to his condemnation of the proud boys. If you listen
00:36:28.820 carefully though, it's kind of funny. I have to say, I've said it many times and let me be clear
00:36:33.140 again. I condemn the KKK. I condemn all white supremacists. I condemn the proud boys. I don't
00:36:40.420 know much about the proud boys, almost nothing, but I condemn that. But he should condemn also Antifa.
00:36:47.760 Antifa is a horrible group of people. They kill people. They, what they do to people and they're
00:36:53.120 causing insurrection. They're causing riots. He doesn't want to do that, but the press doesn't go
00:36:57.840 after him. And that's a really bad group of people, but I condemn them. And if I can,
00:37:02.660 if I say it a hundred, if I say it a hundred times, it won't be enough because it's fake news.
00:37:08.400 True. That is it. If he says it a hundred times, it won't be enough because it's fake news,
00:37:12.300 not just the story, right? That the issue with fake news is not just that they run fake stories.
00:37:16.460 It's that they are not the news. John Roberts is not a reporter. John Roberts is a hack operative
00:37:23.320 who is, it's very clear. I didn't, I didn't follow the guy very closely before,
00:37:27.140 but to see that ridiculous performance, that vaudevillian performance there, you just realize,
00:37:33.460 oh, this guy is not interested in the news or the story. He's just putting on a show and trying to
00:37:38.160 give the Democrats a point. That's what makes it fake news. So Trump calls in, he says, yeah,
00:37:43.600 I condemn white supremacists and the KKK and the proud boys. Now we know the proud boys aren't white
00:37:49.880 supremacists. We covered this on the show on Thursday, just by definition, because their
00:37:53.500 leader is a black Cuban guy. So he's a very confused white supremacist if he's a white
00:37:58.880 supremacist. And the proud boys said explicitly in the statement, we condemn racism and fascism
00:38:04.720 and communism and socialism. Much more than you can say about Antifa or BLM, by the way,
00:38:09.560 who openly embrace socialism and communism and who embrace a form of racism and who dress up like
00:38:17.480 fascists. Right? So it's actually the, the proud boys, not analogous at all, but in Trump's
00:38:22.620 condemnation here is, yeah, I can, I condemn this guy, I condemn that guy and I condemn the proud
00:38:26.960 boys. I don't know who the proud boys are, but I'm told I have to condemn them. So I condemn them.
00:38:31.300 It's a little, you know, it's a little bit clever. It's a little too clever by half. I don't know
00:38:35.940 that I would have condemned them in that I would have said, I don't know who the proud boys are.
00:38:39.840 I don't, I don't follow them. They, it doesn't seem like they're white supremacists to me.
00:38:44.160 I would question the premise, but then the headline of course would be president Trump
00:38:49.460 refuses to condemn the proud boys. So he got his point in a little bit, the back way. He goes,
00:38:53.720 I totally condemn the proud boys. I have no idea who they are, but yeah, you, okay, fine.
00:38:58.380 Will he condemn Antifa? So he deprives them of that headline, but of course Biden is not going to
00:39:03.900 condemn Antifa. Now in terms of white supremacy, what is the state of things? We're being told that
00:39:09.060 there are racial hate crimes all over the place and you know, black lives are being hunted down and
00:39:16.260 LeBron James says he can't leave his home without being hunted down, right? In reality, that's not
00:39:20.300 true. A lot of it is a hoax. Madison, Wisconsin, there was a hate crime investigation. It was pretty
00:39:26.440 big. It had been making the rounds about this 18 year old biracial woman who said that she was
00:39:32.800 attacked by a group of four white men who threw flammable liquid on her and set her on fire and
00:39:38.980 screamed racial slurs at her. And it didn't happen. None of it happened. They investigated it. They
00:39:45.560 found no evidence that it happened. Now the family is saying, okay, well, you know, please respect our
00:39:50.060 privacy at this time because it was obviously completely fake, which most people suspected
00:39:54.680 from the beginning because there wasn't a lot of evidence from the beginning. So that is a racial hate
00:39:59.480 crime hoax. You're not going to hear about it. It will not be in the mainstream media.
00:40:03.200 There's another racial hate crime issue going on over at Ohio State University. Ohio State University,
00:40:11.620 the university has to report when there are these kinds of safety incidents on campus.
00:40:16.440 So they send out an email and it says that a guy, a white guy was walking on the street and a black guy
00:40:23.480 called him a racial slur. Then they started speaking and then the black guy comes over and punches him in the
00:40:28.220 head. And then the, the white guy runs away. So he just, they post about this. That, you know,
00:40:33.400 if you've, if you're in college or you're going to college, you often will get these emails from
00:40:37.160 the chief of police saying, say, okay, there was this incident just letting you know, don't go to
00:40:40.220 this area. Right. Two other students had a similar report. Uh, they report a similar incident. One was
00:40:46.380 that a black female in an off campus area pulls up next to the victims, screams a racial slur at them.
00:40:51.520 The students ignore the driver. Then she followed them. Then she got out of her car. She attacked a
00:40:55.920 female OSU student and a black male who police believe is the same black guy who punched the
00:41:00.440 white guy in the face, uh, attacked the other, the other male student there. So just a few of
00:41:05.340 these incidents, right? The students are protesting because they're obviously they care so much about
00:41:09.780 racial justice, but they're not protesting over the incident. They're protesting that the incident was
00:41:13.920 reported because they're saying that by reporting on the racial hate crime, that is a rate that is in
00:41:20.800 itself racial bigotry against black people. So if you report on a crime where a black guy yells a racial
00:41:26.520 slur at a white guy and punches him, if you report on that, then actually you are committing violence
00:41:31.980 against black people somehow. They write the details of this incident were shared in OSU's public safety
00:41:38.020 notice and do not meet the legal definition of a hate crime. I think they do to refer to it as such
00:41:43.200 solely because the alleged perpetrators used a racial slur is illogical. Racial slurs referring to
00:41:47.900 white people are not based on a history of violence and oppression towards white people.
00:41:54.340 Using this slur does not have the same violent racist implications as a white person saying the
00:41:58.860 N word, for example, nor does this make this incident a hate crime. So the long and short of
00:42:03.780 that, if you want to get through that gobbledygook is that black people can't be racist against white
00:42:08.140 people. That's the conclusion. You say, well, what if they're, but what if they're being racist
00:42:11.160 against white people? You say, no, they're not. They're not. La la la, right? It's my, my theory is more
00:42:16.280 important than your reality. That's what they say. While we're talking about racial grievance,
00:42:20.640 we do have to mention before we go some gender grievance too. The United Nations posted a real,
00:42:27.020 a real magnificent tweet the other day. This was a work of art in the ridiculous leftist Twitter game.
00:42:36.380 UN Women, which is a separate account, tweets out, how to not be a mansplainer. You know,
00:42:43.480 a mansplainer. They say, you can avoid being a mansplainer by asking yourself these questions.
00:42:50.280 Did she indicate any desire to hear this information? Is it possible that she knows
00:42:55.060 more about this topic than I do? Did I read the room before starting to speak?
00:43:01.060 Did I, and then it gives the definition of mansplaining. I cannot wait to mansplain to these
00:43:07.960 people how we defunded this stupid organization. I am going to be so excited. If I ever have any
00:43:15.020 degree of political influence in this area where I can deal with the UN, I am going to build the most
00:43:23.740 beautiful waterfront condominiums there. Well, maybe we'll, we'll, we'll lease out the Trump name.
00:43:30.220 It'll be nice, big Trump luxury condominiums because surely that would do more good for the world
00:43:35.020 than this stupid organization, the United Nations, which accomplishes nothing good,
00:43:41.760 lots of bad things, wastes a lot of time and grievance mongers. And the United Nations itself
00:43:48.600 is part of this problem we've been talking about all day. This problem of the perfect utopian theory
00:43:55.580 coming up against the reality. Cause the UN in theory, what you get all the nations of the world to come
00:43:59.800 together and we deliberate and we all figure out how to live together and kumbaya and we all live
00:44:05.320 in peace. In reality, what the UN does is empowers the worst people in the world. It puts the worst
00:44:11.220 regimes on earth that slaughter their own people, puts them on the human rights council. It gets all
00:44:17.400 of these awful, it invites the worst tin pot dictators in the world to come to the United States. We pay for
00:44:22.380 most of the thing and, or the, at least the lion's share of the thing. And they criticize America.
00:44:29.000 Why do we do that? Because the people who established the United Nations are the same
00:44:35.120 people who think we can overcome human nature. We can, I mean, this is the progressive project,
00:44:40.020 right? The kind of more conservative and traditional idea is that human nature is fixed. It's not changing.
00:44:46.400 There are certain laws of the universe and we need to govern ourselves in accordance with that.
00:44:52.060 That's what the entire Federalist Papers is about. Then progressivism comes in and says,
00:44:56.580 oh, forget all that. That was all written in the age of Newton, where we thought there were
00:44:59.580 eternal truths and fixed laws. But we're in the age of Darwin, where we know everything's evolving
00:45:03.580 and there's no fixed human nature and we can evolve toward utopia. And that's what they think
00:45:08.340 they're going to do. And they're going to make you evolve toward utopia, damn it. They're going to
00:45:12.040 make you evolve toward utopia or you are going to die trying because sometimes you got to crack a few
00:45:17.440 eggs to make an omelet. I think that's where a lot of this rancor comes from.
00:45:23.220 They're going after everybody. They're going after Melania for goodness sakes. Did you hear
00:45:28.380 how they're going after Melania? They found a secret tape. Some, some woman betrays her friend
00:45:33.980 Melania and releases tapes of phone calls that they've had in which Melania is sort of venting
00:45:41.040 about the negative press that she gets and how she's very unfairly criticized. She leaks it,
00:45:46.440 plays it on CNN. They say I'm uncomplicit. I'm the same like him. I support him. I don't say
00:45:53.120 enough. I don't do enough. Where I am, I put the, I'm working like a, ask my ass on Christmas stuff
00:46:01.240 that, you know, who gives a about Christmas stuff and decoration, but I need to do it, right?
00:46:06.280 Yeah, but a hundred percent. You have no choice. And okay. And then I do it. And I say that I'm
00:46:12.940 working on Christmas, planning for the Christmas. And they said, Oh, what about the children that
00:46:17.900 they were separated? Give me a break. Where they were saying anything when Obama did that?
00:46:24.880 I know. I cannot go. I, I was trying to get the kid reunited with the mom. I didn't have a chance.
00:46:34.060 It needs to go through the process and through the law. I love her. I love her. I would,
00:46:40.840 I would charge into battle for that woman. She is so great. She's so elegant. She's funny,
00:46:46.480 apparently too. I didn't realize that. I love that thing that I'm doing. They're criticizing me with
00:46:50.900 the Christmas decorations. Who gives, come on the Christmas. I'm doing my best. And it's true.
00:46:56.280 She's being completely unfairly criticized. They're accusing her of separating children or whatever.
00:47:00.500 They go after Trump for, for an Obama era policy. Actually, it was a policy that was used under
00:47:04.880 Obama. It actually goes all the way back to Bill Clinton's administration, but you never heard peep
00:47:09.400 about it until Donald Trump comes around. And they say all sorts of horrible things about this woman.
00:47:14.280 And now they're hoping that she and her husband die. At least they're explicitly saying they want
00:47:19.580 her husband to die. These are, these are big Democrat staffers saying that. Isn't it so funny
00:47:25.780 that the left, which talks about how they just want to save humanity. They love humanity,
00:47:30.620 the virus, they're going to stop the virus and save mankind. While they're wishing for the
00:47:36.400 salvation of humanity, they're wishing for the death of individual humans. And that's so weird.
00:47:41.580 That's, that's what they always do. They want to save the world from global warming. They want to
00:47:47.820 save the world from this. They want to save the world from that. Humanity, but not individual humans.
00:47:53.900 They hate individual humans very often, as you see from what they're tweeting at the president,
00:47:59.280 sort of things they're doing to individual Republicans. And they, they hate those individual
00:48:04.180 humans because they hate human nature. Humanity in the abstract, they like very much, but that
00:48:08.720 humanity has nothing to do with humans because it ignores human nature and their politics ignores human
00:48:14.640 nature. And they get more and more frustrated as their utopian schemes don't work because utopia means
00:48:20.440 no place at all. You know, topia place, no place. It doesn't exist. And they are going to keep banging
00:48:27.960 their heads against the wall, trying to make their manifestos and their ideologies work. And human nature
00:48:33.940 is going to remain the same, stubborn, and they are going to get angrier and angrier and angrier. We were
00:48:40.720 hoping they could draw some right conclusions for president Trump's diagnosis, but not at all. Can't let
00:48:47.120 reality get in the way of the theory. That's our show. I'm Michael Knowles. This is the Michael Knowles
