00:00:00.000 Congress is currently considering the most radical piece of legislation in our nation's
00:00:05.840 history. Conservatives say that the Equality Act would obliterate the distinction in our
00:00:10.820 politics between men and women. Liberals are saying it's crazy. We're overreacting. There's
00:00:16.840 no way. It's just fear mongering. So Senator John Kennedy put the question to the head of the
00:00:22.120 largest LGBT lobby in the country, the human rights campaign, which is pushing this legislation.
00:00:27.080 He wants to know, simple question, how many sexes are there?
00:00:31.720 Mr. David, let me ask you a question. How many sexes do you think there are?
00:00:39.200 How many sexes?
00:00:43.680 Well, there's a difference between sex and gender identity, if that's what you're getting.
00:00:47.860 No, I'm asking biological sexes. How many do you think there are?
00:00:51.820 Well, I would defer to the medical practitioners, but I think there's been studies showing that if
00:00:57.720 you're talking about sex, sex is defined by many different characteristics, including chromosomes.
00:01:02.520 Are there more than two?
00:01:08.300 You could make that argument that there might be more than two.
00:01:10.460 Are you making that argument?
00:01:11.460 Senator, I can't ignore the fact that there are individuals who are intersexed.
00:01:18.340 And so I'm running out of time. Are there more than two sexes, in your opinion?
00:01:25.440 It's not limited to two.
00:01:26.980 Okay. That's all I've got, Mr. Chairman.
00:01:31.240 That's all I've got. That's all we got. Because if we can't answer that question as a country,
00:01:36.240 we can't answer anything. I'm Michael Knowles. This is The Michael Knowles Show.
00:01:41.460 Welcome back to the show. My favorite comment yesterday from Tim McCulty. This actually,
00:01:52.760 usually I pick comments that just sort of amuse me. This one, though, I thought was pretty
00:01:56.060 insightful. Tim referring to this shooting in Tennessee where a woman, a black woman pulls a
00:02:03.100 gun on a cop and then he shoots her and the mother of the woman blames the cop for letting her shoot
00:02:09.120 him. Tim McCulty writes, they're claiming that the officer put himself and the perp in a position
00:02:15.620 where she would not only commit more crime, but do violence upon him, which makes everything that
00:02:20.200 happened his fault. This really sounds like blaming a rape on what the female was wearing. Yeah,
00:02:25.000 it's exactly analogous to that. Probably the most racist part of, of this racialist ideology here
00:02:34.920 is that the left seems only to ascribe agency to white men. According to the left's racial ideology,
00:02:46.100 only white men are people, you know, with intellect and will who can reason and then act upon that will.
00:02:53.540 Every other group of people on earth are passive objects that things merely happen to,
00:03:00.840 but they can't do anything. So even when this woman in Tennessee shoots a cop, pulls a gun and
00:03:06.560 shoots a cop, it can't be her fault because she is merely reacting to whatever stimuli come into,
00:03:13.580 come into her mind. Very vicious stuff, really dehumanizing stuff. But that, that is, uh, what,
00:03:20.640 what lies at the basis of a lot of that. You know, you, if you hear some, uh, sort of crazy answer
00:03:28.160 from the left on, uh, sex on race, on whatever, if you hear some crazy ideology and you say,
00:03:36.440 there is no way that this is going to advance in our country, this is too far. Well, you can place
00:03:42.560 your bets that it's certainly not going to be too far. And if you want to place bets, head on over

00:05:00.340 said there. He asked the head of the HRC, one of the most dishonest lobbies in the country, an
00:05:07.180 absolutely awful, awful lobby that pushes cultural radicalism. I'm not sure they even believe this
00:05:15.640 stuff anymore. I think they just had to keep raising money because they won the fight to
00:05:19.820 redefine marriage. So they didn't know what to do. So then they took on the transgender thing. And who
00:05:23.440 knows if they figure that one out, they're going to take on some other, some other issue. But
00:05:27.500 Kennedy asks this guy, how many sexes are there? And the guy tries to do this deflection where he
00:05:34.220 says, well, you know, there's actually a distinction between sex and gender, which is true only in as
00:05:39.040 much as gender refers to grammar. What the left does though, is they say gender, it's a term that
00:05:45.260 refers to people's sexuality, but it's different than sex. And they can't really ever explain how it's
00:05:50.300 different than sex. And they, we point out that they're just using two different words to say two
00:05:57.420 contradictory things about the same actual object. But the left says, no, they're totally different
00:06:02.900 things. So Kennedy pushes the issue. The reason that that Kennedy clip matters is he's showing you
00:06:08.460 that this whole idea that there's a difference between sex and gender is just BS, that the left
00:06:12.480 doesn't even believe it themselves. Because he says, no, I didn't ask about gender. I'm asking about
00:06:16.720 sex. How many sexes are there? Biological sexes. The guy can't answer. The guy can't answer because
00:06:25.400 all this postmodern clap trap about, you know, the metaphysical gender and the physical sex. And
00:06:30.900 well, there's a difference between biology. They don't even believe that. They just want to obliterate
00:06:36.340 the sexual distinction in man because that distinction is fundamental to our nature. And if you
00:06:43.880 can transform that, if you can redefine that, you can redefine anything. And then there is no,
00:06:50.140 there is no limit to the possibilities of progress. Lots of confusion going on these days,
00:06:56.240 not just from the head of the human rights campaign, not just from the left-wing lobbyists,
00:07:02.060 also from our president, Joe Biden. Joe Biden said on the campaign trail that he was going to have a much
00:07:09.800 more lenient immigration policy. Creates a lot of incentives for more people to flood into the
00:07:15.400 country. More people flood into the country. Now we have an unprecedented crisis on our southern border.
00:07:21.760 Joe Biden actually, believe it or not, was called out for this only very mildly on ABC. He said, you know,
00:07:28.000 you, you told people to come here. So isn't this kind of your fault? He doesn't really remember. So
00:07:33.700 there's some back of the first TV put together, just a little back and forth. What he's saying now,
00:07:39.520 what he said then. The idea that Joe Biden said, come, they're there seeking asylum. First time ever
00:07:46.260 we've told people they can't come to America. That ends. The cage is closed. The idea that Joe Biden
00:07:52.520 said, come, we immediately surged to the border. All those people are seeking asylum. They deserve to be
00:07:58.500 heard. That's who we are. We're a nation that says, if you want to flee and you're fleeing oppression,
00:08:02.900 you should come. The idea that Joe Biden said, come. And those who come seeking asylum,
00:08:09.260 we should immediately have the capacity to absorb them, keep them safe until they can be heard.
00:08:15.220 Do you have to say quite clearly, don't come? Yes, I can say quite clearly, don't come. First time
00:08:21.560 ever we've told people they can't come to America. Don't leave your town or city or community.
00:08:27.540 Now, maybe this is just because Joe Biden is losing it. That things he said just a few months
00:08:34.000 ago. First be the first time ever we say, don't come. You have to come. Please surge, come. I'd
00:08:39.680 never said surge. I never said come. Maybe this is just because he's getting a little forgetful in
00:08:43.980 his old age, but I don't think it's that. I don't think this is the sort of thing that you can chalk
00:08:47.900 up to Biden's obvious cognitive decline. I think that Joe Biden would have done this sort of thing in his
00:08:53.000 prime because what you have to remember about Joe Biden, it is the defining feature of his political
00:08:57.800 career. Joe Biden is nothing. He's everything and nothing. He doesn't have views of his own.
00:09:07.000 I don't think. I think he wakes up in the morning, licks his finger, puts his finger in the air and
00:09:12.040 figures out which way the wind is blowing. And if the wind is blowing in the opposite direction than it
00:09:15.980 was yesterday, he will contradict with a straight face. He will contradict everything that he said the
00:09:21.000 day before. He lies effortlessly. I don't think this is because Joe Biden necessarily hates the
00:09:27.780 truth. I think he is totally indifferent to the truth. I think he is a pure cynic who, who has been
00:09:36.060 lying from the very beginning of his prominent political career. It's why he had to drop out of
00:09:40.540 the race in 1988 because these weren't just little white lies. This, this wasn't just exaggerating by
00:09:45.800 crowd sizes for all the talk of Trump's lies. Really, it was just hyperbole in the way that
00:09:50.980 New Yorkers talk. That's not what Joe Biden was doing. He was telling very specific, ornate lies
00:09:55.800 about his academic record, about his political record. He was then plagiarizing speeches.
00:10:01.100 He's told lies about very crucial aspects of his personal life. That's just what the guy does.
00:10:07.800 So if the wind blows in the other direction tomorrow and they say, yeah, we, you know,
00:10:11.540 public opinion shows people really want to surge at the border. He'll go on TV completely straight
00:10:16.340 faced and he'll say, I've been telling people to come. I've never told them not to come.
00:10:21.620 I've never told them to stay in their country. It's not who we are.
00:10:27.220 Joe Biden is catching a lot of flack for what's going on down there at the border.
00:10:32.600 One issue is that while we heard all about the kids in cages under Trump,
00:10:38.520 actually Joe Biden is putting more kids in worse cages, cages that he and Barack Obama actually
00:10:43.260 built. It wasn't even Trump who built the cages. And there, there is this question of ripping children
00:10:48.560 from their mothers, right? And Joe Biden says, we are not, not doing that sort of a thing.
00:10:53.920 Listen to the way he muddles up the issue.
00:10:57.140 What do you do with an unaccompanied child that comes to the border? Do you repeat what Trump did?
00:11:02.520 Do you repeat what Trump did? Take them from their mothers, move them away, hold them in cells,
00:11:07.580 et cetera. We're not doing that. What do you do to the unaccompanied children who come to the border?
00:11:14.080 Do you rip them away from their mothers? I'm going to pause it there. Did you catch the problem?
00:11:20.300 Catch the flaw in that argument? These are, there are two separate arguments here.
00:11:23.600 They're the unaccompanied minors who are being pushed across the border. And then there are
00:11:28.900 people who are showing up at the border with kids, but really no way of knowing whether is it,
00:11:34.060 are they their kids? Are these adults coyotes? Are these adults just random people who were put
00:11:39.340 together by the smugglers? That's why there is a vetting process. It's why Biden's doing the
00:11:43.500 vetting process. It's why Trump did it. And that's why Biden's not getting a ton of flack for doing it.
00:11:47.080 That's why Trump got a ton of flack for doing it, but it's the same process.
00:11:49.840 But you don't rip unaccompanied kids away from their mothers because they're not there with their
00:11:55.240 mothers. What, what do you do in both of these situations? We heard from Jen Psaki yesterday who
00:12:00.520 was asked by liberal reporters, Hey, how come you're doing all the stuff Trump did, but just
00:12:05.240 much, much worse. And Jen Psaki gave the honest answer, which is there's not a lot of options.
00:12:11.820 A question about the situation on the border. It's now been three weeks since I think in this room,
00:12:16.380 you were first asked about getting us some, some press access. Why are we still not seeing any
00:12:21.060 images inside these facilities? We remain committed to doing that. And I think these
00:12:26.520 facilities are overseen. HHS, of course, oversees, oversees the shelters. The DHS oversees the border
00:12:33.520 patrol facilities. And we want to work with them to ensure we can do it, respecting the privacy
00:12:39.080 and obviously the health protocols required by COVID. But even given COVID protocols and
00:12:44.660 obviously privacy concerns, you know, even you haven't released any images that you obviously
00:12:49.380 could, could redact if you wanted to. Again, we, we remain committed to sharing with all of you
00:12:54.500 data on the number of kids crossing the border, the steps we're taking, the work we're doing to
00:12:59.820 open up facilities, our own bar we're setting for ourselves and improving the, and expediting the
00:13:06.040 timeline and, uh, the, uh, the treatment of, of these children. And we remain committed to
00:13:11.840 transparency. I don't have an update for you on the timeline for access, but it's certainly
00:13:15.420 something we support. You're obviously not committed to transparency because you're not
00:13:19.560 letting the reporters go in and actually see the cages. So two days ago, we heard this on the show
00:13:24.960 yesterday. Jen Psaki says, look, there's not a lot of options. Please stop bugging me about this.
00:13:29.800 Then yesterday you get the reporters saying, we were told you're going to be transparent.
00:13:33.820 Why are you not letting reporters in to see these facilities? Why are the customs and border patrol
00:13:40.480 officials telling us that they've been told that they're not allowed to say anything to the
00:13:44.440 reporters? Why are you being so opaque about all this? And what does Jen Psaki say? She says with a
00:13:49.600 perfectly straight face, well, you know, we're really committed to transparency and we're more than
00:13:53.800 happy to give you talking points. We're more than happy to give you what we want you to report,
00:13:58.620 but no, we're not going to let you into the facilities because the facilities are looking worse
00:14:03.480 than they ever have before. You know, after I go out with the boys some nights,
00:14:08.980 I'll be looking worse than I ever have before the next day. One reason I love liquid IV.
00:14:14.240 One serving of liquid IV provides the same hydration as drinking two to three bottles
00:14:17.920 of water alone. What makes liquid IV so effective? Cellular transport technology, CTT.
00:14:23.920 The optimal ratio of glucose, sodium, and potassium delivers water and nutrients into the bloodstream.
00:14:28.860 It is the perfect balance to help you hydrate more quickly and effectively than water alone.
00:14:34.520 You know, last night I went out, had a couple of Coca-Colas with Drew Klavan. And, you know,
00:14:39.940 if you're feeling a little, like you could be refreshed in the morning, liquid IV, a great way
00:14:45.140 to go. Good people, I think, use it when they exercise. The rest of us, you know, after a night out,
00:14:50.100 it's a nice thing to have. Grab your strawberry liquid IV or their other great flavors in bulk,
00:14:54.760 nationwide at Costco, or you can get 25% off when you go to liquidiv.com and use code Michael,

00:15:14.640 You will thank me later. Joe Biden cannot articulate a political vision
00:15:19.620 because Joe Biden follows the prevailing winds. This is part of why they're floundering here
00:15:25.940 on the border issue. It's not even just the incompetence of implementing the policies. It's
00:15:30.940 because Biden can't articulate the policies. When he's talking to a Democrat audience, he says,
00:15:36.020 yeah, we want open borders. We don't, we want to let people come in, surge the border, please come,
00:15:41.380 come, come. But when he's talking to more moderate audiences, he says, look, we're sending a lot of
00:15:47.780 people back. We're sending more people back than Trump did. And we believe in law and order and
00:15:52.900 yada, yada, yada. So there's no, there's a total conflict here. Trump, knock him, if you will,
00:15:59.680 say he didn't build enough of the wall, say he didn't deport enough foreign nationals. Sure.
00:16:05.060 But he did always articulate that vision. And people would come to him and say, there's a crisis
00:16:10.020 at the border, far less of one than we see right now under Biden. What, what did Trump say? And what
00:16:14.920 did Trump's advisors say? They said, look, we're a nation of laws and we need borders. Don't come
00:16:19.920 here. We're going to throw you out. It's going to be very bad if you come here. Stop it. We don't want
00:16:25.420 you to enter our country illegally. That is a clear vision. And it is why you did see, at least for
00:16:33.880 certain periods of the Trump administration, that those immigration numbers ticked down.
00:16:37.300 Joe Biden, giving all these mixed messages, uh, creating a far greater problem. Because if you
00:16:45.740 stand in the middle of the road, you were going to get hit by a truck. Now, some politicians can
00:16:50.980 articulate a political vision. One good example of this, Ron DeSantis, governor of Florida, who's done
00:16:57.180 a very good job on COVID. He clearly, I think has his sights set on the white house. So he keeps,
00:17:03.140 I got to give the guy credit. He keeps making all the right moves. He's moved on just from the COVID
00:17:09.380 stuff, which is what had really been putting him in the spotlight. Now he's moving on to a cultural
00:17:13.800 issue, critical race theory, radical leftist, anti-American indoctrination in our schools.
00:17:21.440 Ron DeSantis says no more.
00:17:23.660 Florida civics curriculum will incorporate foundational concepts with the best materials,
00:17:28.960 and it will expressly exclude unsanctioned narratives like critical race theory and other unsubstantiated
00:17:37.820 theories. Let me be clear. There's no room, uh, in our classrooms for things like critical race theory.
00:17:51.360 Teaching kids to hate their country and to hate each other is not worth one red cent of taxpayer money.
00:18:03.660 So we will invest in actual solid, true curriculum, and we will be a leader in the development and
00:18:10.340 implementation of a world-class civics education.
00:18:13.960 I, I love this, uh, this press conference. I love this announcement. I love the initiative.
00:18:20.240 What he's saying here explicitly is not just, Hey, we're going to make sure kids keep reading
00:18:24.660 Shakespeare or Hey, you know, let's, we're going to let everybody do whatever they want to do and
00:18:29.440 schools can pick whatever they want to do. He's going further than that. He's saying, we will not
00:18:33.740 permit this trash in our schools. It is being excluded. It should be cast into the outer darkness
00:18:42.200 where there is wailing and gnashing of teeth. And that's the right answer. This is a point I make
00:18:47.940 for many pages with lots of historical examples and lots of arguments for it in my upcoming book,
00:18:54.520 Speechless, Controlling Words, Controlling Minds. These abstract, ahistorical arguments that are
00:19:00.840 merely formal about free speech versus censorship or something like that have very little to do with
00:19:06.960 the actual cultural battles at hand, cancel culture, political correctness, this massive,
00:19:12.200 uh, indoctrination campaign in our schools. The real question is standards. What are we teaching?
00:19:18.660 When we teach one thing, we're living in a finite world. It means we necessarily can't teach the other
00:19:24.020 thing. If we're teaching the 1619 project for 10 weeks of our semester, then we are not teaching
00:19:29.000 the 1776 commission. Okay. And so you've got to make choices. Mitch Daniels, who is now the president
00:19:34.300 of Purdue, formerly the Indiana governor. And there was some talk that he would run for president in 2012.
00:19:39.540 Mitch Daniels got, gotten a lot of trouble for this. There was an email that came out from when
00:19:43.740 he was governor that said, I don't want Howard Zinn, the leftist historical revisionist polemicist.
00:19:50.540 I don't want Howard Zinn in our schools. I don't want that anti, excruple, anti-historical trash,
00:19:57.940 I believe was the phrase from the email. Get it out. Exclude it. Conservatives need to become much
00:20:04.140 more comfortable, not just making sort of abstract, formal arguments about how, you know,
00:20:08.080 we've got to hear out everybody's ideas. And sure, we should have the 1619 project in schools,
00:20:12.440 but it should also in the free marketplace of ideas have the counterpoint or whatever. No,
00:20:17.820 we need to recognize that education in particular is coercive and it is limited. And we need to teach
00:20:25.820 certain things. It has a purpose. And the purpose of the radicals and critical race theory in the 1619
00:20:31.380 project is to destroy our country. So we should have a civics education that builds up our country.
00:20:38.080 And DeSantis is making that claim. Now, a lot of people are saying, oh my God,
00:20:41.840 DeSantis, he's going to be the nominee in 2024. Hold up guys. You know, it's, there's a long way
00:20:48.000 between here and 2024. I love what he's doing. I think that's great stuff. We should be encouraging
00:20:54.740 this from all of our politicians. There is a long road to go before 2024. Politicians need to prove
00:21:00.700 themselves, you know, especially if they haven't been in the national spotlight for a long time,
00:21:04.700 but definitely really good stuff from Governor DeSantis. Speaking of critical race theory,
00:21:12.660 speaking of people who were clearly poorly educated, Don Lemon, Don Lemon on CNN,
00:21:20.260 theologian, cardinal, future Pope Don Lemon was discussing religion recently, right? He was
00:21:28.840 discussing the Vatican's decision to continue to hold the Christian view of marriage that they've
00:21:33.120 held for 2000 years. So Don Lemon was spatting off. He said, look, God would never judge anybody.
00:21:39.560 Nevermind that in the Nicene Creed, we acknowledge that Christ will come to judge the living and the
00:21:45.140 dead and his kingdom will have no end. No, forget about that. Forget all the references to judgment
00:21:48.580 in the Bible. No, no judgment, no Vatican. They've got to get on board with the Don Lemonite
00:21:55.120 Christianity. Don Lemon is now making both a theological and an historical claim that Jesus
00:22:02.680 is black. And we also have to start being realistic about God and the Bible. And if you are a person of
00:22:11.000 faith in this country and you, we know America is built on faith and religious freedom, then we have
00:22:16.320 to, I think a good way of starting is to present the true identity of Jesus. And that is as a black or a
00:22:23.680 brown person rather than someone who looks like a white hippie from Sweden or Norway. And I think
00:22:29.180 we should start with a true depiction of what Jesus looked like and put that in your home,
00:22:33.540 either a black Jesus or a brown Jesus, because we knew Jesus looked more like a Muslim or someone
00:22:38.120 who was dark rather than someone who was blonde, a blonde looking carpenter. And then when your
00:22:44.280 children ask you, who is this? This is Jesus. Jesus was Middle Eastern. Bethlehem was not in Sweden.
00:22:51.800 And so Jesus does not look like the popular depiction that we have in our churches and in
00:22:58.960 our homes and that we see all over the media. And I think that is a good place to start.
00:23:04.680 Jesus is not a black guy. First of all, when you begin with Jesus was, as you're pontificating to
00:23:12.780 Christians about their religion, you've made a crucial error because Christ was crucified. And then he
00:23:18.840 rose again from the dead and ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father
00:23:22.720 Almighty. Jesus is a Jew. His mother was Mary. His father is God, the Father, the first person of the
00:23:34.740 blessed Trinity. And Christ is the second person of the blessed Trinity. And the Holy Spirit, the bond
00:23:38.580 of love between the Father and the Son, is the third person of the blessed Trinity. So real is that love
00:23:42.660 that he is his own person. For Don Lemon to come out and say, look, we just have to deal with the
00:23:48.880 historical facts, okay? Jesus was black. That's historically ridiculous. It's just not true.
00:23:54.320 Well, Jesus wasn't Swedish. Yet no one says he was Swedish. Have you looked at any Western art,
00:24:01.260 any Western depictions of Christ? They vary. Some, I guess he's lighter skinned than others, but
00:24:07.460 he looks like a Jew. I don't know. He doesn't look black. He doesn't look Swedish. He doesn't look
00:24:14.940 Norwegian or whatever. He looks like a Jewish guy, which is what he is. There are also some clues as to
00:24:25.700 what Christ looked like in his bodily form as he was incarnate on earth. And we can see this in the
00:24:34.560 Shroud of Turin. We can see this in other places. But the historical claim is silly and we can dismiss
00:24:41.920 it. The worst part of it is that he's ignoring the central fact of Christ, the most important fact.
00:24:52.700 He knows just about as much about depictions of Jesus as he does about higher Christology.
00:24:57.760 The error here is trying to center Christ's identity in race. There is neither Jew nor Greek,
00:25:02.820 nor slave, nor free, nor free, but all are one in Christ Jesus. Christ, who comes as a Jew to this
00:25:08.440 specific chosen people, has his message spread by the apostles to all of the Gentiles, to all of the
00:25:15.400 world, all coming into one in human dignity, human solidarity, salvation open to all mankind.
00:25:23.740 And this schmuck, Don Lemon, focuses on kooky theories about the race of the redeemer of the
00:25:33.620 world. Who could possibly care less about the race of the redeemer of the world? The fact is the
00:25:37.760 redemption. Don Lemon, missing the point. A lot of people have missed the point that it's a big hassle
00:25:44.540 to go into brick and mortar auto parts stores and have to, you know, talk to people and answer
00:25:48.820 questions about car parts. You don't have to do that anymore. You can go to rockauto.com.
00:25:55.120 Rockauto.com is so much easier than walking into a store and someone demanding all those quick
00:25:59.540 answers to things about your car that you don't know about. Maybe you know about it. I don't know
00:26:03.760 about it. They go in the back. They don't have the part. They order it online. They charge you twice as
00:26:08.220 much. Do not do that. It's really important, I think, right now to have all the parts you need for
00:26:13.200 your car, especially these days. We had some rough weather last night over here in Nashville.
00:26:17.880 You don't want to get caught. You don't want to get stranded. So when you go get those auto parts,
00:26:22.880 go to a family business, rockauto.com. Reliably low prices. They don't change their prices with
00:26:28.180 all sorts of gimmicks. You know, you just, you can always count on it. Same prices for pros as they
00:26:33.080 have for do-it-yourselfers. Do not chuck money out the window and spend twice as much for the same
00:26:39.080 parts. Go to rockauto.com right now. See all the parts available for your car or truck. Then tell them
00:26:46.880 that I, car expert Michael Knowles, write Knowles in their How Did You Hear About Us box,
00:26:51.880 let them know that I sent you. Rockauto.com. Head on over there right now. Also, make sure you listen
00:26:57.520 to Ben's show today. Ben will be discussing when the left does care about anti-Asian hate and when
00:27:05.440 the left does not care about anti-Asian hate. Very specific circumstances here. So make sure you go
00:27:11.860 check that out. You know, there's a buzz in the air over here at the Daily Wire studios.
00:27:16.420 Candace Owens filmed the first episode of her new show yesterday. It is all anyone in the office can
00:27:21.440 talk about this morning. You are going to love it. Candace premieres tomorrow. It will be unlike any
00:27:26.520 other Daily Wire show you've seen before. If you would like a sneak peek of her new show, join Candace
00:27:31.440 Owens and the rest of the Daily Wire gang tonight for a special edition of Backstage. Do not forget,
00:27:36.560 Candace premieres tomorrow. It will be exclusive to Daily Wire members. So I don't want to spell this
00:27:42.700 out too much here. If you're not a member, you don't get to watch it. So head on over, become a

00:28:06.560 There are many worthy causes on earth. There's so much suffering, so much pain. We are called to
00:28:17.020 charity. And so we take our finite resources and we give them to the people we feel are most in need.
00:28:24.280 Like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, for instance, right? This, according to a GoFundMe.
00:28:30.200 There is a GoFundMe set up to help Harry and Meghan pay off their $14 million mortgage in Montecito,
00:28:41.100 California. That's the bad news for our culture. The good news is the GoFundMe has folded in less
00:28:48.900 than a week. I guess this was a Harry and Meghan super fan. I didn't know those existed, but there is
00:28:53.660 one out there at least. The $14 million GoFundMe raised a total of $110, which is about $110 too
00:29:04.240 much in my mind. But then it folded up. This actually ties in with this racialist ideology
00:29:11.120 that you hear from people like Don Lemon. And really you hear it from everybody, critical race
00:29:15.580 theory in the classroom and in the corporate boardrooms and everywhere else. The racialist
00:29:20.160 ideology has so taken hold in this country that even Meghan Markle can claim to be a victim.
00:29:28.500 Even a hot, famous, rich princess can claim to be a victim. If she is even one quarter black,
00:29:41.300 my Sicilian mother was much darker than Meghan Markle. Doesn't matter. According to the
00:29:47.160 racialist ideology du jour, Meghan Markle can claim to be a victim. And being a victim carries
00:29:56.240 social currency. It doesn't carry real currency on GoFundMe apparently, but a lot of other places
00:30:00.960 it does. President Trump was asked, he was speaking to Maria Bartiromo and he was asked about his views
00:30:10.360 on Meghan Markle and the Mexit and her prospects because it has been said and reported by sources
00:30:17.120 close to her that Meghan is looking to run for president in 2024. President Trump gives his hot
00:30:22.620 take. What was your take on Meghan Markle now saying she, meeting with Democrat operatives,
00:30:29.260 she may want to run for president? Well, I hope that happens because if that happened,
00:30:35.040 then I think I'd have an even stronger feeling toward running. I'm not a fan of hers. I think
00:30:41.560 that what she talks about the royal family and the queen, I happen to think I know the queen,
00:30:46.640 as you know, I've met with the queen and I think the queen is a tremendous person and I'm not a fan
00:30:51.680 of Meghan. I'm not a fan of Meghan. I also love Trump. They're like, you know, my friend, the queen.
00:30:56.880 Yeah, my friend, the queen, she's really great. I love her. But yes, if, if Meghan were to run,
00:31:02.720 that would be all the more reason for president Trump to jump in as well. It hasn't been working.
00:31:07.760 This, this kind of grievance politics has not been working for Harry and Meghan. Why not? There
00:31:15.260 are plenty of other rich, successful, famous people who play into this race hustling sort of fashionable
00:31:21.980 ideology and it does sometimes work for them. Why not Harry and Meghan? It might just be a bridge too far
00:31:30.100 to have literal royalty claiming grievance. It might, it might just be a bridge too far.
00:31:39.860 Forget Trump for a second. Even Michelle Obama, who is no conservative, Michelle Obama,
00:31:47.700 who has said that the first time in her adult life that she was proud of her country was when it elected
00:31:53.440 her husband, Michelle Obama, who has embraced sort of some of the rhetoric of racial grievance.
00:32:00.700 She's been, she's been somewhat curtailed in that, but she's, she's dipped her toe in those waters.
00:32:07.440 Even she says, come on, Meghan, give me a break.
00:32:10.280 I wonder when you watched Meghan Markle speak out, what went through your mind?
00:32:14.920 Public service, it's a bright, sharp, hot spotlight. And most people don't understand it, nor should they.
00:32:23.980 The thing that I always keep in mind is that none of this is about us in public service. It's about the people that we serve.
00:32:32.620 But what about when she talked about the fact that she experienced racism?
00:32:36.680 I mean, I feel like that was heartbreaking to hear that she felt like she was in her own family.
00:32:46.620 You know, her own family thought differently of her.
00:32:49.520 Race isn't a new construct in this world for people of color.
00:32:53.540 So it wasn't a complete surprise to hear her, her, her feelings and to have them articulated.
00:33:00.820 I think the thing that I hope for and the thing I think about is that this first and foremost is a family and I pray for forgiveness and healing for them so that they can use this as a teachable moment for us all.
00:33:17.960 Pretty good take from Michelle Obama. I never thought I would say this on this show, but pretty good.
00:33:22.680 It's not a perfect take. You can see what I mean when I say she dips her toes in those racial grievance waters where she's a, says,
00:33:29.800 do you think Meghan Markle would seriously suffered racism? She goes, well, racism, it's nothing new.
00:33:35.200 It's like, yeah, but right, it's nothing new. But do you think Meghan Markle suffered from hatred?
00:33:40.440 I don't think so. Charles walked her down the aisle to marry his son. I don't think so, right?
00:33:44.220 They would have dealt with the marriage beforehand if it were some big issue of a race or something.
00:33:50.120 That's obviously not what happened. But broadly, she's saying, look, it's a family. Let's just like pray for them and not, you know, this is ridiculous.
00:33:56.720 And then on the Meghan question, it's really a brutal line. She says, this is not supposed to be about us.
00:34:03.400 Now, it's ironic coming from Michelle Obama because Barack Obama is probably the most narcissistic politician of our lifetimes.
00:34:10.300 And I'm counting Donald Trump in that. A healthy ego is a professional hazard of politics.
00:34:18.620 It might even be a requirement if you're running for president.
00:34:20.700 But Obama really took that to the next level where he said the earth would heal.
00:34:26.220 The sea levels would cease to rise.
00:34:29.040 We are the ones we've been waiting for. We're the hope, right?
00:34:32.940 That sort of stuff was pretty silly.
00:34:35.240 But at least, you know, hypocrisy is the tribute vice-paste to virtue.
00:34:37.600 At least Michelle Obama is saying, yeah, it's really not supposed to be about us.
00:34:42.460 And Meghan needs to stop making this all about her.
00:34:44.820 But this idea of racial grievance is really taking hold.
00:34:50.400 It's not just in the universities, not just in high schools, not just in politics.
00:34:56.440 It's taking hold, maybe most especially, in corporate America.
00:35:01.040 Deloitte, major consulting firm.
00:35:05.560 Deloitte, I mean, one of the biggest consulting firms in the world.
00:35:08.080 They told their employees that unintentional microaggressions are considered a punishable offense.
00:35:15.700 A punishable offense.
00:35:16.820 Now, this was during a mandatory anti-racism training.
00:35:22.820 The U.S. employees at Deloitte were introduced to the company's new anti-racist culture.
00:35:27.000 I guess previously Deloitte had a racist culture, but now the new one is the anti-racist culture.
00:35:32.520 Employees were told that they are expected to help cultivate anti-racist culture
00:35:36.620 when working with personnel and clients and promote equity.
00:35:39.620 One example, how do you have an anti-racist culture?
00:35:42.300 Well, one example is, quote, asking your black male colleague to join the flag football or basketball team.
00:35:50.300 If you're working with a black guy and then, you know, your friends at the company have a sports team.
00:35:58.840 If you invite the black guy to participate with your white team, that's racist.
00:36:07.520 If you exclude the black guy from your sports team, that's anti-racist.
00:36:15.520 Not sure I'm following the logic.
00:36:19.420 Now, I suppose what they are getting at here is that black people tend to be better athletes in a great many sports than white people.
00:36:26.520 But maybe that's even racist now to say.
00:36:29.240 Is it racist if you're complimenting someone?
00:36:30.840 If you say, like, for instance, Asians have higher test scores, they're probably better at school.
00:36:35.980 I guess that's racist.
00:36:37.380 That's not by my definition.
00:36:38.960 That's a compliment.
00:36:39.960 I'd like to be told that Italians are better at eating pasta carbonara.
00:36:43.900 So I don't know what we're exactly better at.
00:36:45.740 But, you know, I guess Italians are better at exploring.
00:36:49.320 That's something, right?
00:36:50.100 Christopher Columbus, Verrazzano, Emergo Vespucci, the map guy.
00:36:54.520 That's pretty good.
00:36:55.740 We run recklessly into danger.
00:36:58.260 I would like to be told that as a stereotype.
00:37:01.880 But if you invite a black person onto your team, whether it's because you think he's a good athlete or whether it's because you're friends with him, no longer permitted.
00:37:12.800 You can be fired for that at Deloitte.
00:37:15.900 Employees are racially biased, according to Deloitte, if they are not in favor of affirmative action programs.
00:37:21.980 And there we go.
00:37:22.780 Now we're getting into the heart of it.
00:37:25.160 These silly examples about the sports teams, they're just kind of to distract from what this is really about, which is prohibiting conservative, forget even conservative, just non-radical political points of view in the workplace.
00:37:40.100 Plenty of black people oppose affirmative action.
00:37:43.460 Clarence Thomas opposes affirmative action.
00:37:46.300 He wrote about affirmative action and the pitfalls and the evils of affirmative action beautifully in his memoir, My Grandfather's Son.
00:37:56.760 Plenty of people oppose these policies.
00:37:59.420 But now, if Clarence Thomas were to espouse a view on affirmative action, he would be called a racist, an anti-black racist.
00:38:07.960 If Clarence Thomas were working at Deloitte, he could be fired for that.
00:38:10.760 Now, you're going to see this more and more.
00:38:13.180 It's going to begin with affirmative action, but it's going to expand into other policies.
00:38:16.320 Soon it's going to be that if you think that men shouldn't use the women's bathroom at the office, that is bigoted.
00:38:23.040 I guess it won't be racist.
00:38:24.860 They'll call it some other ism.
00:38:26.180 And you could be fired for that.
00:38:28.140 And what this is all about is enforcing a new set of standards on the culture.
00:38:34.620 And you're going to have these squish, naive, maybe worse than naive, pseudo-conservatives in part.
00:38:43.780 And they're going to say, well, you know, Deloitte's a private company.
00:38:46.640 And so if they want to destroy our culture, they can totally do it.
00:38:49.100 That's wonderful.
00:38:49.540 That's what our founders would have wanted.
00:38:52.600 And you're going to have actual conservatives saying, wait, what are you talking about?
00:38:56.180 You, the same people who are now defending Deloitte or Amazon or any of these big, giant corporations that are destroying our culture.
00:39:05.580 You are the very people who said that we need to go and take back the universities and take back Hollywood and politics is downstream of culture.
00:39:13.480 Yeah.
00:39:13.920 So, okay, let's fight in the culture.
00:39:15.220 Well, no, they're a private company.
00:39:16.540 We've got to do whatever they want to do.
00:39:18.340 That's totally fine.
00:39:19.540 No.
00:39:20.640 How about no?
00:39:21.440 How about we stop making excuses for why we can't push back against the left's wicked designs to upend our culture and destroy our country?
00:39:32.100 And how about we assert a good, positive political vision and then actually have the guts to defend it?
00:39:38.200 Wouldn't that be nice?
00:39:39.260 Why don't we do that?
00:39:41.080 Either we will do that or we will cease to have anything to conserve.
00:39:45.780 This is, by the way, this is, this is not even a, not a, I have no shame in making this plug because I really want people to read this book because it makes this exact point.
00:39:54.840 Speechless, controlling words, controlling minds, which is available for pre-order until Amazon figures out what it's about and then they're going to take it off the website.
00:40:01.080 Anyway, this is why the Candace Owens, Cardi B battle fascinates people, I think.
00:40:09.480 I don't say this just because Candace is my friend and we've got this great new show with Candace and everyone should watch that.
00:40:17.840 Candace puts these sorts of issues in a uniquely stark light, particularly on the race stuff, particularly on the sex stuff.
00:40:27.440 Why? Because the country right now is obsessed with race and sex and they say that all black people need to think a certain way.
00:40:33.100 And if, if you don't vote for Joe Biden, you ain't black and all women need to vote a certain way.
00:40:37.600 And Candace just by existing contradicts those theories.
00:40:42.600 But it's further than that.
00:40:45.300 Candace also has guts and she's willing to say it and she's not going to back down and she's going to say whatever she wants to say.
00:40:51.640 And good luck if you try to shut her up.
00:40:54.100 Candace and Cardi B, according to the left's shallow, material, sexual, racial view of politics, there's no difference between Candace and Cardi B, right?
00:41:06.380 According to the left, you know, black people, they're all the same and women, they're all the same.
00:41:11.160 And so there's no difference.
00:41:12.940 But there's quite a difference, isn't there?
00:41:15.140 These, these two women could not possibly be more different from one another.
00:41:20.460 Which way will we go?
00:41:24.540 Not just which way will black people go?
00:41:27.540 Which way will women go?
00:41:29.000 Which way will our country go?
00:41:31.320 Because these two people who look very similar, have very similar physical attributes,
00:41:37.040 think, desire, value, pursue, very different things.
00:41:46.220 Our views, our identity, our politics is not defined exclusively or primarily by what we look like.
00:41:58.780 There is more to it than that.
00:42:01.100 When Don Lemon focuses on Christ's skin color, not only is it stupid, not only is it ignorant, but it's totally missing the point.
00:42:12.980 Which way will we go?
00:42:14.300 The Candace-Cardy feud is great because you see, oh, there really are options.
00:42:17.780 We really can pick a path.
00:42:18.820 Do you want to go down the WAP path or do you want to go down the freedom, American tradition, preserve our way of life path?
00:42:27.980 Which one?
00:42:28.620 You, you got to make the choice.
00:42:31.560 In our culture, racism is the unique sin.
00:42:35.760 It's the worst thing you can call somebody right now is to call somebody racist.
00:42:40.820 Sure, that's, it's very bad.
00:42:42.940 It's an offense against human dignity.
00:42:44.480 We all acknowledge that.
00:42:46.440 There are other sins.
00:42:48.080 And because the left has so succeeded at eroding our, our perception of the traditional objective moral order, we, we can't make sense of any evil in the world other than through this lens of white supremacy or patriarchy, racism broadly.
00:43:06.800 But there are other sins.
00:43:10.240 Tragic shooting happened a couple of days ago at an Atlanta area massage parlor.
00:43:17.440 This, this guy shows up, the white guy shows up and kills eight people in a massage parlor Tuesday night.
00:43:26.440 He's 21 years old.
00:43:28.000 He's confessed to the crimes.
00:43:29.560 I think six of the, uh, people were these Asian masseuses.
00:43:38.000 Uh, the, the attacks began around 5 p.m.
00:43:41.880 At the Young's Asian Massage Parlor in a strip mall in a rural area near Ackworth, about 30 miles north of Atlanta.
00:43:51.200 Two people died at the scene.
00:43:52.700 Three were transported to a hospital where two of them also died.
00:43:55.740 I, I think more deaths came in even after that, though I'll, I'll have to check.
00:43:59.780 You got the point.
00:44:00.360 Very, very terrible thing.
00:44:01.840 We are now being told that this is because of white supremacy, because there's anti-Asian hate crime, and this is part of white supremacy.
00:44:09.600 If you look at the statistics, not even just from this year, but for many, many years and decades even, of the demographics that commit crimes against Asian people, it ain't white supremacy.
00:44:23.580 Let's put it that way.
00:44:24.500 I'm not even particularly interested.
00:44:26.520 Ben will talk more about anti-Asian hate and that sort of thing on his show today, but the, the idea that there is an epidemic of white people running around killing Asian people because of their skin is not supported by the evidence, not by a long shot.
00:44:40.080 But this is what everyone jumped to.
00:44:42.180 They said this, because it confirms this fictional narrative that the cultures put forth, that this guy was motivated by racial hatred.
00:44:50.480 And the cops who are giving the, they're investigating this, giving, giving a press briefing on it.
00:44:55.960 They're saying, you know, it, it doesn't seem like race is the issue here.
00:44:59.600 It seems like there's another sin at play.
00:45:02.300 We did interview him last night.
00:45:04.080 He is currently in our facility at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.
00:45:07.480 We were able to interview him with the Atlanta Police Department and the FBI.
00:45:12.500 He made indicators that he has some, some issues, potentially sexual addiction, and may have frequented some of these places in the past.
00:45:26.580 And, and, but as the chief indicated, it's still early on.
00:45:30.600 We still have a lot of, uh, uh, things to process.
00:45:33.480 And, um, what does this race have been motivated?
00:45:36.020 Um, as the chief indicated, uh, it's still early, but, uh, the indicators right now are, uh, uh, it, it may not be, uh, it may be targets of opportunity.
00:45:47.060 Uh, again, we are, we believe that he frequented these places in the past and, um, may have been lashing out, uh, and part of that.
00:45:56.580 Is, is in your media packet as well.
00:45:58.980 But the working period is a sexual addiction issue rather than a racial profile.
00:46:03.380 Uh, uh, during our interviews, uh, we asked that specific question and, uh, and that did not appear to be, uh, the motive.
00:46:11.220 It did not appear to be the motive.
00:46:12.520 Now this, this cop is in real hot water publicly because he was giving an explanation of what happened.
00:46:18.860 He said, was it race? Was it race?
00:46:20.020 And he said, no, I think it was that, that he's got these addiction issues and obviously these mental issues.
00:46:25.820 And he had a particularly bad day and that set him off and he went off and committed this crime.
00:46:32.000 And what trended on Twitter, they said, he had a bad day.
00:46:34.500 He had a bad day.
00:46:35.380 This is covering up for white supremacy.
00:46:36.880 And they just went back to the same, the same narrative.
00:46:39.360 So what, what are they, what do they want the cop to do?
00:46:41.320 They want, do they want the cop to be some emotional guy?
00:46:44.260 This evil, terrible monster.
00:46:47.300 We're going to kill him.
00:46:48.220 We're going to, no, that would be wrong for him to do that.
00:46:50.760 And it's up to the prosecutor to do that.
00:46:52.680 But for the cops who are investigating this and gathering the facts, they've got to be neutral.
00:46:57.340 And of course, if the situation were reversed in, in any of the particulars, you would hear all sorts of excuses.
00:47:03.680 Yes, no, uh, you know, we, we covered that story yesterday in the Tennessean about a woman who pulled a gun on a cop and shot him.
00:47:11.440 And the article was very sympathetic to her and more or less blamed the cop for allowing her to shoot him, right?
00:47:18.400 All sorts of excuses.
00:47:19.700 But I'm not interested in excuses for any of these.
00:47:22.540 I'm not interested in Jacob Blake's excuses.
00:47:24.680 I'm not interested in this kid's excuses.
00:47:27.720 I'm not interested in any, any of those sorts of things.
00:47:30.920 I am, however, interested in the motivations because the motivations will tell us quite a bit about our culture, about the crime, and about perhaps how to prevent the crime in the future.
00:47:44.220 This massage parlor was, I think, pretty clearly not just a massage parlor.
00:47:50.560 There were three of these Asian massage parlors on the same block, just about.
00:47:55.640 They're all right in the same neighborhood.
00:47:57.080 Something tells me there was a little bit more than massages going on here.
00:48:01.020 This is a problem that goes on throughout the United States, and everyone knows that it's happening.
00:48:06.780 And this guy, apparently, was frequenting these houses of ill repute and had this sexual addiction, and this impelled him to this horrible crime.
00:48:17.180 If you blame this on racism, which, as the cop says, it does not appear to be, you're not going to figure anything out.
00:48:24.240 You're not going to do any, any good to help prevent these sorts of things in the future.
00:48:27.520 You're not going to deal with the root problem.
00:48:29.020 You're just going to propel a leftist fantasy that, that is really divorced from reality.
00:48:36.320 But what if there are more sins than sins of racial hatred?
00:48:39.200 What if racial hatred isn't even, like, one of the most prominent sins in the country?
00:48:44.740 Do we think that really there's this sort of ubiquitous racial hatred?
00:48:48.260 Do we think that the Ku Klux Klan is really prominent in the country?
00:48:50.500 No, but licentiousness sure is.
00:48:55.940 That's not an excuse for someone to commit a crime, but it is an explanation, perhaps.
00:49:01.340 It is a problem, perhaps.
00:49:03.720 It is something that we might want to deal with while we're dealing with racial problems, while we're dealing with drug problems, right?
00:49:08.700 The opioid epidemic, that's an addiction issue, and it leads to certain crimes, and you've got to punish the crimes, but you also want to deal with the addiction issue.
00:49:17.320 Maybe this sexual insanity that's taken over our country, where we now have the mainstreaming of drag queen story hour, adult men transvestites twerking for toddlers, where you have 11-year-old drag kids having dollar bills thrown at him at bars because he's dancing for grown men.
00:49:37.540 Maybe that's a problem, maybe our antipathy toward our own country that's spreading through critical race theory, to use one example, but through other means, maybe that's a problem, too.
00:49:51.200 Maybe division and distrust of our countrymen and the suppression of perfectly mainstream and conservative political views, like we're seeing at Deloitte.
00:50:00.440 Maybe that's a problem, too.
00:50:03.360 Maybe we can't see what's going right on under our noses because we've been so blinded by ideology.
00:50:12.760 Maybe we can't even say how many biological sexes there are, like John Kennedy showed us while he was grilling that lobbyist.
00:50:20.000 If you can't answer those simple questions, if you're unwilling to take a look at even the most basic facts in front of you, how are you supposed to fix any problems?
00:50:26.880 I'm Michael Knowles. This is The Michael Knowles Show. See you tomorrow.
00:50:30.440 We'll see you tomorrow.
00:51:00.440 The Michael Knowles Show is a Daily Wire production. Copyright Daily Wire 2021.
00:51:22.500 Today on The Ben Shapiro Show, the left decries anti-Asian hate, but only when they believe the culprit is whiteness.
00:51:29.140 And the left's racist version of equity infuses America's government and boardrooms.
00:51:33.000 That's today on The Ben Shapiro Show. Give it a listen.
