00:00:00.000 Guys, I think I have to leave the Republican party. I think I have to totally just re-envision
00:00:05.520 how I think about things because I saw a tweet from the actress Rosanna Arquette,
00:00:11.420 and this was just, wow. Wow. I'll just read it for you. Democrats versus Nazi party.
00:00:19.080 That's where we are at in America. Oh, it's just, I've never heard it put that way before. You know,
00:00:25.880 it just totally makes me think about politics in a fresh new way. That's the kind of rhetoric
00:00:30.760 that's going to change our politics. I'm Michael Knowles. This is the Michael Knowles Show.
00:00:41.880 Welcome back to the show. My favorite comment yesterday from one time, 282, who says,
00:00:47.260 put your hands up if you had to Google pinko and put your hands up if you're going to start using
00:00:51.880 that word from now on. Well, that's, a few people wrote into me to, I guess I used the word pinko
00:00:57.160 in passing yesterday, and they were unfamiliar with that. Pinko is one of the great terms. It's
00:01:02.140 one of the great terms for the libs or the, you know, like the commies, but now the libs are kind
00:01:06.560 of like the commies and that's why we call them pinkos. So I'm glad. Yes, let's bring that back.
00:01:10.400 I didn't know it ever went away. You know, when you want to make sure that things are ready for
00:01:15.460 the future, things from the past are ready for the future, you've got to check out Trust and Will.

00:01:53.660 I was 18 years old, 17 years old, something like that. It's very important. And now, then
00:01:58.720 I got married. You got to update it. Now I've got cute little June, got to update it. Again,

00:02:20.160 people die without a will, it's a big problem. Just do it. Peace of mind. 10% off plus free
00:02:24.180 shipping at trustandwill.com slash Knowles, trustandwill.com slash Knowles. Liz Cheney
00:02:28.900 is gone. No one really cares about that. It's fine. It's over. It's no, no big deal. The only
00:02:34.540 people who are pretending to care and trying to make a huge issue out of this are the Democrats
00:02:39.760 who are turning Liz Cheney into a martyr. And they are using Liz Cheney as an opportunity
00:02:44.540 to regurgitate the stalest, deadest rhetoric that, that is the actual problem in, in our
00:02:52.660 politics for anyone who wants to make progress. Joy Behar calling Liz Cheney, Joan of Arc.
00:03:00.220 She is the Joan of Arc standing up to the heretics at this point. And so she's very lonely in that
00:03:06.540 position. I do have faith though, that she is a tough cookie and intends to persevere.
00:03:12.000 It is rather refreshing to see somebody stand up to the QAnon party who is not afraid to lose her
00:03:19.960 job like the rest of those cowards who are shivering and quivering in the corner that they may have to
00:03:25.260 go back to their old lives. But I have to say that I have not been a Republican fan, as you might have
00:03:32.740 noticed over the years on this show. I mean, the big lie of the Iraq war was the Republican Party.
00:03:39.400 This is just another big lie that they're perpetuating on the American people.
00:03:45.600 This is just a stew of dead, stupid talking points. This is a veritable smoothie of all the
00:03:53.420 dumbest talking points that you can throw into the blender and then you put the top on you.
00:03:57.500 That is Joy Behar's monologue here. So notice, notice what she's doing. You hear the big lie,
00:04:02.860 which is this phrase that Democrats are using from Hitler. They're borrowing it from Hitler in
00:04:07.280 Mein Kampf. And they're using that to accuse the Republicans of being Nazis, even though they
00:04:11.560 don't realize that in their analogy, the way that they're using the big lie actually makes the
00:04:16.180 Democrats into the Nazis and the Republicans into the Jews. But they haven't read Mein Kampf and they
00:04:20.720 don't know very much about history. So, OK, they're using that to talk about the questions about the
00:04:25.320 2020 election. But but now Joy Behar is saying, but but the big lie that the Republicans are pushing,
00:04:30.300 there's the big lie is also the Iraq war, you know, the big lie. It's just one lie. And that's
00:04:36.020 about the election having problems. But also but it's also the Iraq war and the Iraq where there was
00:04:40.680 all the Republicans, even though Hillary Clinton voted for it. And I think I'm pretty sure Joe Biden
00:04:46.420 voted for it, too. But it's the Republicans. And OK, so that's the first part. Totally wrong there.
00:04:51.260 And then she but the first part, rather, is like the the earlier part in her monologue is where she
00:04:57.980 refers to Liz Cheney as Joan of Arc. And she says that she's Joan of Arc against the GOP heretics.
00:05:05.200 What is that heretic against what? What is the belief? Is it against America? If if America is the
00:05:11.540 the true wonderful belief in the whole GOP, their heretics, then Liz Cheney, I guess, is still a
00:05:15.900 heretic because she's still a Republican. That's that is her party affiliation. So I guess in her very
00:05:21.940 confused metaphor here, Joy Behar is saying that actually Liz Cheney is the Joan of Arc against
00:05:28.600 the heretics of the GOP who who have betrayed true conservatism or the true Republican Party or
00:05:35.340 something like that. But Joy Behar doesn't know anything about the Republican Party. And if if
00:05:40.660 she really believes that Liz Cheney is the good one or something and that the rest of the GOP,
00:05:48.440 the conservative types are heretics, then in in that metaphor, Joy Behar would have to become a
00:05:53.860 Republican, albeit a Republican of the Liz Cheney variety. But she's not doing that. She doesn't
00:05:57.640 believe anything that she's saying or she doesn't even know what what what the meaning is that she
00:06:03.060 is conveying. She's just using slogans. The slogans can contradict one another. They can be internally
00:06:10.860 inconsistent. They cannot convey meaning. It doesn't matter. Her brain has been turned into a slogan
00:06:16.440 machine. And it's not just Joy Behar. I bring this up because we're all susceptible to this right now.
00:06:23.420 This is always true in politics, but especially in the age of mass corporate media,
00:06:28.280 our thoughts are very often not our own. Our look, we all talk to people and we get ideas from people
00:06:35.840 and we bounce ideas off of others and then we take some good ideas. I do it. We all do it.
00:06:40.120 But in the age of mass corporate media, these ideas are just pummeled into our heads and they're all
00:06:46.940 the same talking points and it's day in and day out. And so we'll regurgitate them, but we'll have
00:06:50.940 no idea what we're saying. I remember once right around when Ronald Reagan died, I was coming out
00:06:56.720 of my liberal phase and my mother was very sad that Ronald Reagan died. And, and I didn't, I didn't know,
00:07:02.940 you know, I just didn't know as much about Reagan. I said, Oh yeah, but mom, right. You know,
00:07:05.780 everyone's, everyone knows Reagan, you know, wasn't great. And she said, why's that? I said,
00:07:10.240 Oh, you know, like Reaganomics. She goes, Hey Michael, what's Reaganomics? I was like,
00:07:15.420 uh, uh, uh, I don't know. I don't know. I just, I've been told it was, it was not even forget about
00:07:21.820 Ronald Reagan, forget about what it means on that particular issue. It was my first awakening
00:07:27.880 about the effects of the media on our own language. We can use it without even knowing it.
00:07:35.000 You want to talk about a real talking point machine, Claire McCaskill, who is the former
00:07:39.420 Missouri Senator who got booted out by Josh Hawley. She is a queen of talking points and she was,
00:07:45.820 she was spewing all the same nonsense also in this case about Liz Cheney, but McCaskill took it even
00:07:51.280 one step further down the rhetoric rabbit hole. Think how far the Republican party has fallen
00:07:56.940 that now not only do they accept people committing insurrection and sedition against our government,
00:08:04.260 not only do they accept the president United States committing a fraud, a big lie on our
00:08:09.820 democracy, which we treasure, not only are they doing that they're continuing to sit silently as
00:08:17.960 they oust a truth teller, you know, and I got to tell you the truth. If one of these Republicans
00:08:23.880 has the nerve to talk about cancel culture with what they're doing to Liz Cheney, I would use such an
00:08:30.840 unladylike word right now, if I could, I mean, F them, you know, I mean, what about that?
00:08:37.400 They want to, they want to lecture us about Dr. Seuss and the cancel culture and they're canceling
00:08:42.340 her. They are canceling Liz Cheney because she has the audacity to tell the truth. Shame on all of
00:08:49.120 people. And, and, um, proving that we need a show on, on premium cable where we can use that word
00:08:55.220 because it's so called for. Oh yeah. We need a show. We're so subversive here. We're, there's
00:09:00.960 nothing more subversive than saying the F word, right? I think you can, I think there, I think
00:09:05.120 like every show on premium cable does that, right? There's no, the most subversive thing you can do
00:09:10.680 right now is not use swear words. South Park actually had a very funny episode about this
00:09:15.780 decades ago, back when, when, uh, TV started using all this subversive vulgar language, which,
00:09:22.500 but which is now the norm. I talk about this actually at length in my upcoming book,
00:09:26.360 Speechless Controlling Words, Controlling Minds, which is available now for pre-order. You can get
00:09:29.060 a signed first edition copy by the way, premier collectibles. But that the whole, the whole setup
00:09:34.100 is ridiculous. She says, oh yeah, we, oh, we need a place on the, on cable where we can use those
00:09:39.560 naughty words. Yeah. It's called cable. You can't. So that's the first part. Then there's the big lie
00:09:45.960 and the threat to our democracy, all this stale platitudinous nonsense. But then did you see,
00:09:51.120 did you see what Claire McCaskill said within 10 seconds? She said, Liz Cheney is a truth teller
00:09:58.140 and she's being punished for being a truth teller. And I've got to tell you the truth.
00:10:04.900 I've got to tell you the truth. Meaning I wasn't telling you the truth before
00:10:08.620 ordinarily. I don't tell you the truth, but now I've got to tell you the truth.
00:10:13.160 This is so unusual for me, but now I've got to tell you the truth. It's like the people who say,
00:10:17.620 look, honestly, as opposed to, you know, dishonestly, or I, you know, to be honest,
00:10:23.140 unlike what I usually am, which is dishonest. What meaning did Claire McCaskill convey?
00:10:29.660 If you did not know the context of, uh, and the partisan context of what these people are
00:10:36.320 generally getting at. And you just heard her say, the big lie is a threat to our democracy,
00:10:41.660 which we cherish. And the truth teller was kicked out for the lie and the truth. And the,
00:10:49.380 what are we talking about? Nowhere does she talk about the big lie. She doesn't get into the details
00:10:54.280 of the election. She doesn't get into the questions of why people have, maybe have some
00:10:58.120 lingering questions with the election. She doesn't get into what Liz Cheney said or did.
00:11:03.320 She doesn't get into what Liz Cheney believes. She doesn't get into what her opponent said or did
00:11:07.480 or believe. There's no specificity here. It's just the platitudinous talking points.
00:11:13.740 The other big one I'm hearing with, with regard to Liz Cheney is country over party. You ever hear that
00:11:19.840 one country over party? That might be the single most ridiculously silly slogan I've heard in my
00:11:27.640 entire life in politics. And I grew up in the coexist bumper sticker era. Okay. There have been a lot of
00:11:33.380 silly slogans, but country over party. What does that mean? People join political parties because they
00:11:40.440 think that will be good for their country. They joined political parties to advance a particular
00:11:44.400 political vision for their country. The idea that party is opposed to country is just a cheap
00:11:51.020 insult, but it doesn't mean anything. It's not true for anybody. And if you want progress,
00:11:58.020 such as it is, if anyone's really after progress in politics, it is simply the case that regurgitating
00:12:03.600 these meaningless, vapid platitudes will do nothing. By the way, conservatives have their own.
00:12:08.460 Conservatives do our, you know, conservatives will, we'll use this line. This is one of the
00:12:14.040 most popular ones. Democrats are the real racists. Okay. What does that mean? Well, yeah, sure. It,
00:12:20.120 it is true that the Democrats pursue policies that are racist or racialist or race-based,
00:12:26.120 or they espouse hatred of people on the basis of their race. That's true. But Democrats are the real
00:12:32.540 racists doesn't really mean anything because racism is an offense against human dignity. It's a product of a
00:12:37.180 fallen world and we've all got it. The fallenness. And therefore we've all, we all sin. I'm not saying
00:12:44.400 we're all David Duke or anything like that, but I'm saying we all sin. We all have problems. We all
00:12:48.120 have difficulties of perception in this world. There are always questions of prejudice and solving these
00:12:53.460 things is not so easy as slapping a bumper sticker on something. So when we engage in that kind of talk,
00:13:00.740 it's, it's, it's not even that it's just so awful and evil and terrible. It's, it's just,
00:13:05.020 it's a waste of time. It does not do anything. The left does it way more than the right does,
00:13:10.860 but we've got to watch it a little bit too. Got to work on ourselves. If you want to work on
00:13:15.900 yourself, you got to check out Echelon Fitness. Echelon is the affordable way to get the workout

00:14:20.740 special offer is by going to echelonfit.com slash Knowles, E-C-H-E-L-O-N-F-I-T.com slash Knowles,
00:14:27.640 echelonfit.com slash Knowles. There's this great deal of importance on the quality of our thought,
00:14:35.320 on the rigor of our logic, and on the precision of our language. We've got to be very careful about
00:14:40.180 that. Okay. I actually coincidentally just wrote a book about this called Speechless Controlling
00:14:44.420 Words, Controlling Minds, which is available now for pre-order, by the way, if you haven't pre-ordered
00:14:47.160 it yet. There it goes. That bell was a little bit late, but you get the point. However, I want to
00:14:53.220 couch that. I don't want to seem just like I'm, you know, 100% completely obsessed that everything's
00:15:00.360 got to be exactly precise, and we've all got to agree with each other on everything, and we can't
00:15:03.540 ever, you know, if you just sit and think about language all day long, you'll never do anything
00:15:09.320 else. So I think we need to train ourselves to be very precise in all those things, but we also have
00:15:13.400 to do stuff, and in order to do stuff, you need coalitions. And this is the other side of that
00:15:17.560 argument. This is what we're actually learning from the whole Liz Cheney nonsense and how the left is
00:15:21.760 so thrilled with the Liz Cheney nonsense, and most Republican voters aren't even aware of it.
00:15:26.840 We need to form political coalitions. There's a woman who just showed up to a meeting in Luden
00:15:33.540 County, Virginia, and it was a school board meeting, and she gave a fiery denunciation of critical race
00:15:42.260 theory. In the words of Martin Luther King Jr., I have a dream that my four little children will one day
00:15:47.700 live a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their
00:15:52.160 character. Now I have a dream that we will implement love, not hate, or supporting another Jim Crow's
00:15:57.340 agenda. CRT is not an honest dialogue. It is a tactic that was used by Hitler and the Ku Klux Klan on
00:16:02.720 slavery very many years ago to dumb down my ancestors, so we could not think for ourselves. CRT is racist.
00:16:08.960 It is abusive. It discriminates against one's color. Let me educate you. An honest dialogue does not
00:16:14.700 impress, oppress. An honest dialogue does not implement hatred or injustice. It's to communicate
00:16:19.340 with deceiving, without deceiving people. Today we don't need your agreement. We want action in the
00:16:23.940 backbone for what we asked for today, to ban CRT. We don't want your political advertisement to divide
00:16:30.120 our children or belittle them. Think twice before you indoctrinate such racist theories. You cannot tell me
00:16:35.260 what is or is not racist. Look at me. I had to come down here today to tell you to your face that we
00:16:41.160 are coming together and we are strong. This will not be the last. Greet and meet. Respectfully.
00:16:47.480 Okay, now a lot of people are going to watch this, even conservatives, even people who oppose
00:16:52.920 critical race theory. They're going to watch this or listen to this and they're going to say, oh well,
00:16:57.180 I don't agree with all of her rhetoric. Oh well, I don't. You know, some of those comparisons,
00:17:02.120 they're a little bit much for me. Ah, you know, this could have been a little more articulate or
00:17:05.960 this could have been stated differently. I agree, as we've just been talking about. I agree, it's
00:17:13.080 very important to be precise in our language and it's very important to be aware of when people are
00:17:19.420 not being precise and when people are just using platitudes and things like that. It is also important
00:17:24.520 to be politically effective. The main takeaway I get from this woman is kick critical race theory
00:17:30.660 out of schools. I totally agree with that. She's absolutely right. We need to join with her.
00:17:37.100 We need to welcome anybody who will oppose critical race theory. It is poison in schools.
00:17:43.500 It is terrible for our politics. It is based on a lie. It undermines our very faculties of reason.
00:17:49.740 You got to get rid of it. So while we can do two things at once, you often hear people say,
00:17:56.200 you can walk and chew gum at the same time. We can improve our rhetoric. We can be aware of the
00:18:02.040 platitudes around us, especially from the left, because those are the ones being pumped in from
00:18:06.040 the schools, from critical race theory, actually, from the big tech, from big corporate America,
00:18:11.260 from big government, from big administrative state, from everybody, from big Hollywood. You can be aware
00:18:18.020 of that, and you can try to call people's attention to that, and you can also engage in political
00:18:24.260 coalitions to fight these things. That woman, I would love. Show me the next time she's talking at
00:18:28.780 a school board. I want to be there. I want to be there to applaud her, because she's absolutely,
00:18:32.920 absolutely right about what we need to do. Speaking of lessons, Rand Paul just taught a very
00:18:38.620 lovely lesson to Dr. Fauci. Dr. Fauci, only 10 more years, you sheep. Put your masks on. Only,
00:18:46.400 what did I say? I said only 12 more years. No, Dr. Fauci, you just said 10 more years. Look,
00:18:50.980 I just, it's only 15 more years of the masks, okay? That is the saying. So Dr. Senator Rand Paul
00:18:57.640 just laid out a bit of a medical lesson for Dr. Fauci. Dr. Fauci, we don't know whether the pandemic
00:19:05.340 started in a lab in Wuhan or evolved naturally, but we should want to know. Three million people
00:19:11.380 have died from this pandemic, and that should cause us to explore all possibilities. Instead,
00:19:16.800 government authorities, self-interested in continuing gain-of-function research, say there's
00:19:21.740 nothing to see here. Gain-of-function research, as you know, is juicing up naturally occurring
00:19:27.760 animal viruses to infect humans. To arrive at the truth, the U.S. government should admit that the
00:19:33.840 Wuhan Virology Institute was experimenting to enhance the coronavirus' ability to infect humans.
00:19:40.740 Juicing up superviruses is not new. Scientists in the U.S. have long known how to mutate animal
00:19:46.540 viruses to infect humans. For years, Dr. Ralph Barak, a virologist in the U.S., has been collaborating
00:19:53.840 with Dr. Xi Zengli of the Wuhan Virology Institute, sharing his discoveries about how to create
00:20:00.380 superviruses. This gain-of-function research has been funded by the NIH.
00:20:06.080 Brutal. So there's the setup. The setup, which is, by the way, there were a lot of people,
00:20:12.060 even among conservatives, who early on in the coronavirus said, this is totally naturally
00:20:17.280 occurring. This has nothing to do with the Chinese government. There's no issue here with
00:20:21.760 the Public Health Administration. It's because of the, it's the bat markets in Wuhan. And on this show,
00:20:27.280 end on verdict with Ted Cruz, we said very early on that the coincidence of the Wuhan Virology
00:20:34.880 Institute being just 400 yards from where this virus was allegedly discovered, that's a little
00:20:40.560 too much for us. I bet it has something to do with the Institute. And I bet that some American people
00:20:47.100 are going to be held accountable for that, or at least going to be exposed for this, because as we
00:20:51.220 reported on that show too, U.S. money, U.S. taxpayer dollars were going in part to fund the Wuhan
00:20:57.580 Institute of Virology, which was studying coronaviruses and bats. People called conspiracy
00:21:03.340 theorists, all sorts of things by the libs and by even some self-styled conservatives.
00:21:09.100 Looks like we were right. Rand Paul laying this out in the Senate. Dr. Fauci, he's, he denies it,
00:21:15.000 but listen, this is the importance of rhetoric. Listen to the way in which he denies it.
00:21:20.460 Dr. Fauci, do you still support funding of the NIH funding of the lab in Wuhan?
00:21:27.380 Senator Paul, with all due respect, you are entirely, entirely and completely incorrect
00:21:33.520 that the NIH has not ever and does not now fund gain of function research in the Wuhan Institute.
00:21:44.140 Do they fund Dr. Barrett? We do not fund. Do you fund Dr. Barrett's gain of function research?
00:21:50.980 Dr. Barrett does not doing gain of function research. And if it is, it's according to the
00:21:56.620 guidelines and it is being conducted in North Carolina and not in China. Oh, Dr. Fauci,
00:22:04.640 you know, you're a, you're a clever, tricky politician, but thankfully Rand Paul is too,
00:22:10.180 and he's calling you out on it. So Dr. Fauci opens up and goes, Dr. Paul, Senator Paul,
00:22:15.520 you are completely and totally incorrect about this very narrow thing that I'm actually distorting
00:22:22.640 your words on. So he's not, Fauci is, even though he says you're completely and totally incorrect,
00:22:26.560 right? You get the soundbite. Then he qualifies that. He says about this very particular thing.
00:22:31.380 And then you think about the very particular thing, namely funding gain of function research in
00:22:36.160 Wuhan. And you realize, wait a second, that's not quite what Rand Paul was accusing you of.
00:22:42.380 You're, you're saying you're totally wrong about that thing that you didn't actually say.
00:22:45.460 Well, okay. So Rand Paul, you're totally and completely incorrect about that thing that you
00:22:49.080 didn't actually say. The U S taxpayer dollars do not go toward gain of function research in Wuhan.
00:22:54.880 But as Rand Paul asked, he says, well, are you funding Dr. Barrett? This, this one particular
00:22:59.880 doctor doing gain of function research, which he's then sharing with Wuhan.
00:23:03.040 And Fauci doesn't want to answer it. So he just keeps talking over Paul and then Paul acts,
00:23:08.500 asks it again. And then Fauci gives to me, it's, this is the, just the cherry on top of this little
00:23:14.140 rhetorical Sunday. He goes, Dr. Barrett is not conducting gain of function research. And if he is,
00:23:22.020 it's fine. Well, you got declarative statement. Dr. Barrett is not doing this kind of research,
00:23:29.360 but if he is, it's totally cool. That's not a problem. What do you mean? But if you just,
00:23:32.800 you're making the statement that he's not doing it, you can't then qualify that and say, yeah,
00:23:36.760 but if he is, whatever, don't, who cares? Wear the mask sheep. His, his response to Paul,
00:23:44.520 which has given such fire with such passion is ultimately meaningless. He doesn't refute a single
00:23:52.320 thing Rand Paul accuses him of, but people will think that he did. The way that this is being
00:23:58.460 portrayed in the mainstream media is as the Dr. Fauci owns Rand Paul, that's how it's being played.
00:24:06.280 And no one's going into this depth on it. No one's analyzing what Dr. Fauci actually said.
00:24:10.800 They're just taking it. They're just taking the dead rhetoric for what it is.
00:24:14.960 But Rand Paul really did expose something here. Doesn't matter. Oh, you've got to wait to see the
00:24:20.100 way CNN covers it. CNN accusing Rand Paul of, of disrespecting medical science. Rand Paul,
00:24:28.620 a medical doctor. Oh my gosh. This craziness just makes you want to crawl back into bed,

00:26:22.880 Barnes & Noble, or any other major bookseller. We'll be right back with a lot more.
00:26:38.220 Rand Paul rips Dr. Fauci at the Senate. Rand Paul brings names, brings evidence,
00:26:46.880 and brings serious questions. Dr. Fauci can't refute any of them. The best he can muster
00:26:52.220 is to answer questions that Rand Paul didn't ask and to ignore the questions that he actually did ask.
00:26:58.480 How is this being covered in the mainstream media? Why Anderson Cooper of CNN is accusing,
00:27:04.940 and people on his program, are accusing Dr. Rand Paul of disrespecting medical science.
00:27:12.180 He's an ophthalmologist. You would think that he would be, you know, have more respect,
00:27:17.780 at least for medical science. Dr. Fauci, he later told CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta that he thinks
00:27:25.600 senators might be playing to the cameras. It's certainly, you know, that could certainly be it.
00:27:31.920 The idea that Fauci is somehow a villain to Trump allied politicians. What does one even say to that
00:27:38.200 idea? This is, look, obviously the substance of what he's saying is, is very silly. The idea that
00:27:45.340 Anderson Cooper, this TV host Vanderbilt is somehow the great defender of medical science against Rand
00:27:52.760 Paul, who is disrespecting medical science, even though he's a medical doctor. That's very silly
00:27:58.200 stuff. But I want to focus in on that little rhetorical trick at the end. Did you hear what
00:28:03.420 he said there? He says, it's just crazy. It's just so ridiculous that Dr. Fauci would become the villain
00:28:10.040 to these Trump allied politicians. So first of all, in the example he's giving here, Rand Paul,
00:28:16.700 who's probably the, the greatest foe that Dr. Fauci has in politics. Rand Paul is a scientist. He's a
00:28:24.060 medical doctor. So it's, it's not scientist Fauci versus politician Rand Paul. It's scientist versus
00:28:30.520 science. They're both scientists. But moreover, they're both politicians. Dr. Fauci is a politician.
00:28:37.880 Dr. Fauci gets his paycheck from the government. Dr. Fauci reports to presidents. He's reported to
00:28:42.940 presidents going back to Ronald Reagan. Dr. Fauci is one of the most seasoned politicians
00:28:48.060 in the country. And he has more political power than virtually anybody in the country.
00:28:53.340 Presidents come and go. Dr. Fauci remains. This is the, I can't believe, can you believe the
00:28:59.520 politician versus the scientist? No. It's scientist versus scientist and politician versus politician.
00:29:05.320 Public health is about applying a supposedly scientific lens to politics and giving supposed
00:29:12.280 scientists a lot of political power. If you wanted to have a real substantive discussion,
00:29:18.040 about this, you would not do what Anderson Cooper is doing. You would not do what, I don't know,
00:29:22.360 any of these people on television are doing. Any of these libs, pinkos, to use a phrase that some of
00:29:27.840 the audience likes, you would say, okay, you've got, you've got two scientist politicians here and
00:29:33.940 you've got two, you've got a scientific disagreement, first of all. And frankly, I don't even know,
00:29:39.880 I don't want to accuse Fauci of bad motives or of hiding the ball, even though he has clearly
00:29:44.380 misled and lied to people. So maybe I can accuse him of that. But Fauci, maybe Fauci actually
00:29:49.360 understands that there's a very good chance that the Wuhan Institute was somehow involved here.
00:29:54.460 But Fauci just doesn't want to admit that because of the political considerations. But let's just say,
00:29:58.780 best case scenario, you've got a scientific disagreement and you've got a political disagreement
00:30:04.200 between the US Senator and the egghead technocrat.
00:30:08.000 Now, in the constitutional order, it seems to me preferable for the Senator to win in that situation
00:30:17.800 is the Senator is accountable in some way to the people in our constitutional system. And the egghead
00:30:23.200 technocrat is not, you can't, you can't kick him out. You can't fire Fauci. The guy is going to be
00:30:29.580 there for our grandchildren are going to be answering to Dr. Fauci because I don't know what kind of deal
00:30:34.160 that guy made, but he doesn't, you know, Dr. Fauci is at least going to live until 250. I think we all
00:30:39.640 know that at this point. He still won't be able to throw a baseball, but he's going to, he's going
00:30:43.660 to be around a long time. Okay. That would be the honest discussion. Where do we disagree on the
00:30:50.380 science and where do we disagree on the politics and how do those two things relate? Because they
00:30:53.760 obviously do, but we can't have that discussion because of all this stupid dead rhetoric. The one,
00:30:59.100 one nice thing I'll say about someone on CNN, about Don Lemon of all people is that Don Lemon
00:31:06.420 cracked out. And he actually has done this in the past. He has cracked out of the dead rhetoric.
00:31:12.500 Years ago, he used to agree with Bill O'Reilly on things, right? That was, that's certainly breaking
00:31:16.480 the mold on CNN. But even when he's offering liberal talking points, he very often comes at it
00:31:22.540 from an oblique angle. I mean, do you remember some, some years ago, Don Lemon would talk about aliens
00:31:28.680 and he'd talk, it's talking about weird, they spat off on religion and he doesn't know anything about
00:31:32.440 it, but at least it was different. At least you could tell he wasn't just regurgitating the same
00:31:36.940 nonsense that many of his colleagues do. He did this recently on the vaccines. He was doing his
00:31:41.580 little handoff, the Tweedledee Tweedledum thing, you know, to Chris Cuomo. And they were talking about
00:31:47.260 Mother's Day and Don Lemon made a fairly interesting point. I'm kind of jealous that you got to spin it
00:31:52.940 with your mom because I'd love to spin it with my mom, but my mom won't leave. She won't, I keep saying mom.
00:31:57.080 She has to fly though. She is fully vaccinated, Chris. I know. And if you're going to say during
00:32:03.060 the entire pandemic, and I'm talking to you, mom, and I'm talking to you, my other friend,
00:32:07.500 I won't say her name because she'll get mad at me. If you're going to say, I believe in the science
00:32:12.440 and the scientists, then now on this side of the pandemic, then you must believe in the science
00:32:19.020 and scientists as well. I agree. We're saying to you, if you're fully vaccinated,
00:32:22.520 you don't have to wear a mask outside. If you want to travel, you can wear a mask, follow the
00:32:27.820 protocols, but it is 99.99 or whatever percent chances that you won't get the COVID. You won't
00:32:37.240 get COVID. Then you should trust in that science as well and get back to your life. My mom is a woman
00:32:44.220 of a certain age. I don't know how much time any of us has. I could walk out of here and get hit by a
00:32:48.960 bus. I want to live my life. I want to see my loved ones. So can we get back to some semblance
00:32:54.580 of normalcy? Preach, preach Don, man, that was great. I totally agree. I totally agree with what
00:33:02.780 he said in part because he couched a lot of it hypothetically. So he said, if you always believe
00:33:07.920 the scientists and if you think it's important to wear the mask. So obviously I, I don't, I don't care
00:33:12.640 what Dr. Fauci says. I don't think he has any credibility. I don't wear the masks almost ever
00:33:17.020 unless people absolutely force me to like, for instance, to get on an airplane. And then I have
00:33:22.060 to make a calculation. Is it worth even traveling to this place to wear this stupid mask? But sure,
00:33:26.460 I don't, you know, some of the hypothetical parts I don't get into, but the argument he's making here
00:33:30.600 is completely right. Even if you've gone along with all this craziness, all the Fauci, whatever
00:33:36.400 Fauci says this minute, that's the gospel truth. Well, now we're, we are being told by the egghead
00:33:42.500 health professionals. You don't need to wear a mask outside. You can see your family if you've
00:33:48.280 been vaccinated. That's the point of a vaccine. You can do this. You can do that. So the people
00:33:53.320 who have done all those things have to be consistent. And he says, look, who knows how
00:33:57.680 long we have to live? A lot of us have put off seeing our grandparents. A lot of us have put off
00:34:03.500 seeing our parents. And who knows? As he says, you go walk out and get hit by a bus tomorrow.
00:34:08.380 And certainly the chances of, of something happening increase with age and with deteriorating
00:34:13.980 health. So go out and live. You have to live your life. I'm shocked this made it through
00:34:18.040 on CNN, but only make it through on the handoff. Now, okay, I can't, I'm saying too many nice
00:34:24.400 things about Don Lemon, saying too many nice things about CNN. So let's get back into their
00:34:28.480 really stupid rhetoric again. Fareed Zakaria goes, actually goes on Don Lemon's show. And Fareed
00:34:34.060 Zakaria goes into the issue of Israel and the violence breaking out and Palestine and
00:34:41.800 peace in the Middle East. And his, the problem with his argument here is, is not even so much
00:34:47.940 the specifics of how this applies right now. People could have an honest disagreement about
00:34:52.600 what's going on right now. It's that he is retreating to the same dumb platitudes that
00:35:00.160 have failed for decades. Bibi Netanyahu, meanwhile, was trying to do things that would make it as
00:35:06.660 impossible for there ever to be a Palestinian state as, as he could do. So he makes peace
00:35:12.180 with some moderate Gulf states with the help of the United States. And he had been essentially
00:35:18.260 ruling out any possibility of any, any deal with the Palestinians. So after a while, I think what
00:35:26.080 happened is there was a certain amount of frustration that, you know, these events then
00:35:30.900 get triggered by something or the other. But the reality is that Israel had almost forgotten that
00:35:36.860 they had this Palestinian problem on their hands, and it has now exploded. But ultimately, this thing
00:35:43.460 is only going to be solved if Israel decides that it wants to, as a matter of morality, it does,
00:35:50.480 it wants to give rights to Palestinians, that it does not believe that it can be a Jewish democratic
00:35:56.280 state and have these 4 million people living essentially in, uh, conditions where they have
00:36:02.680 no political rights in Israel and, you know, has, has control over them. Okay. Do you see the problem
00:36:09.000 with what he's just said? So he, he opens up with a brief history of the past few years,
00:36:14.760 which has overseen relative peace in Israel and relative peace in the Middle East.
00:36:22.120 That is, this was the, the Trump strategy. For years and years and decades and decades,
00:36:27.720 we were told by the foreign policy establishment that you would not see peace in the Middle East
00:36:32.480 unless, and you would not see normalization of states with Israel unless you first deal with
00:36:37.880 the Palestinian issue. And the Palestinian issue is this group of Arabs that are kind of in a no
00:36:43.120 man's land where none of the Arab states want them and they want to destroy Israel and they elect
00:36:49.200 Hamas, a terrorist organization, but Israel doesn't just totally wipe them out. And so there's just
00:36:53.120 this conflict, right? If you don't deal with the Palestinian problem, you're never going to get
00:36:57.040 peace with Arab nations and, and Israel. And then Trump said, you know, that's, that just sounds like
00:37:02.500 BS. So you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to do the exact opposite. John Kerry goes out and
00:37:08.280 says, it is a fact. It is a reality. You will never have a separate peace in the Middle East.
00:37:12.580 If you don't deal with the Palestinian issue, Trump says, no, forget that. I'm just going to,
00:37:16.000 we're just going to deal with the actual Arab nation states and Israel. And what does Trump do?
00:37:19.880 He doubles the number of Arab states that have normalized relations with Israel, doubles them.
00:37:26.380 He got two in a month, two in a month, major peace treaties, the Abraham Accords, shocking,
00:37:32.360 upended all of the foreign policy establishment and made them look like a bunch of idiots.
00:37:36.400 Then what happens? Biden becomes president and just retreats back to the exact same old issue.
00:37:47.740 He starts sucking up to Iran again, starts sucking up to the Palestinian Arabs again,
00:37:53.660 pulls a little bit of support from Israel, says, we've got to solve the Palestinian problem. What
00:37:58.120 happens? Violence breaks up. And Farid Zakaria, at least he says, look, the, the Israelis during the
00:38:05.240 Trump administration, they just kind of forgot the Palestinian Arabs exist. They didn't forget.
00:38:09.440 They just ignored them. That was the strategy. Ignore this problem. Ignore Hamas. Ignore,
00:38:13.920 that was the Trump strategy. Just ignore them. Don't try to deal with them. Just deal with the
00:38:18.180 other countries and then you're going to get peace. So yes, you know, and that led to some peace and it
00:38:23.340 led to, but then what happened? What does Farid say? He says, and that is why we now need to go back
00:38:28.020 to the Palestinian. He just, he ignores all the stuff he just said, all of the actual,
00:38:32.140 interesting, specific stuff that's going on right now. And he just retreats back to the old
00:38:36.080 dead platitudes. Just a stale talking point. Often these slogans are not just wrong. They're
00:38:43.480 actually the opposite of true. A real great example of this is in the current prosecution
00:38:49.600 of that Looney Tune who shot up the Asian massage parlor. Do you remember this? It was a couple months
00:38:54.860 ago. A sex addict walks into a Asian massage parlor and just starts shooting people. Presumably
00:39:02.780 there was more than massages going on in the, in the massage parlor. Now this was not only an Asian
00:39:08.480 massage parlor. There were people that were non-Asian as well. On Tuesday, this guy gets indicted
00:39:15.520 of killing eight people. Okay. And not only is he being brought up on the murder charges, which is
00:39:22.360 obviously right. Not only are they seeking the death penalty, which they obviously should,
00:39:25.900 but he's also being brought up on hate crime charges. Hate crime. What's a hate crime? It's
00:39:30.900 opposed to a love crime, I guess. It's opposed to an indifference crime. It's a hate crime. It's
00:39:34.980 kind of a silly identity politics category that increases punishments based on perceived motives
00:39:42.560 of the killers. Six of the eight people who were shot were of Asian descent and the shooter here is
00:39:49.340 white. So he's being brought up on a hate crime because he must hate Asian people, right? But
00:39:53.920 there's no evidence that he hates Asian people. He says, and all the people around him say,
00:39:58.760 and all the investigators are saying that the motive was not race. It was actually sex. It was that this
00:40:02.880 guy has a sex addiction and that he felt that there was a temptation from the Asian massage parlors.
00:40:10.260 And so he, one day he goes in and blows, blows them to smithereens. That's, doesn't change the
00:40:17.220 nature of the crime. Whether he hated them for their race or he hated them because he's got a sex
00:40:20.500 problem, doesn't change the, the effect of the crime. But, and I don't think that the punishment
00:40:26.740 should be any different. But furthermore, they're now adding this on because they're, because a lot
00:40:31.180 of them were Asian and because he's white, they're saying it has to be racist. It's not racist.
00:40:35.320 That you don't learn anything about the crime. You don't learn anything about the actual situation.
00:40:40.160 You don't deter crime. You don't prevent anything by pretending that every bad thing in the world
00:40:45.200 is motivated by racism. This is from the Fulton County district attorney, Fannie Willis,
00:40:49.660 who says the hate crime charges are based on the actual or perceived race, national origin,
00:40:54.220 sex, and gender of the four women killed. The notice says only four women. So not even six. Okay.
00:40:59.940 And then this DA goes on and says, this will send a message that everyone within this community is
00:41:07.100 valued, but that's not the message it sends. It actually sends the opposite message. It's,
00:41:11.240 it sends the message that some people are valued more than others. If this guy had gone in
00:41:14.680 and killed a bunch of white masseuses, you know, in this kind of dodgy massage parlor,
00:41:22.700 he would face less of a, of a charge. But because they're Asian, he faces a greater charge. The
00:41:29.620 message that sends is that Asians are valued more than white women. But that, that shouldn't be the
00:41:34.440 message sent at all. And regardless of whether or not that should be the message sent, it's obviously
00:41:38.320 not what's being sent. It is the opposite of what this stale rhetoric is pushing.

00:42:13.320 ensure your title is still in your name. Speaking of sex addiction, not addition, addiction. We're,
00:42:20.360 you know, just talking about the, the masseuse shooting issue. There is a very famous guy who
00:42:26.400 is admitting to another kind of sex addiction, porn addiction. Terry Cruz is opening up about his porn
00:42:34.000 addiction and how it almost destroyed his marriage. It was like, wait a minute. Like I actually just need
00:42:40.520 to be a better person for myself. And, and he basically said, whether I can't promise you,
00:42:46.680 whether your wife was ever going to come back to you, you may have lost her forever,
00:42:51.200 but you still need to get better for yourself. And I went, this is crazy. You're right. Because this is
00:42:59.440 another thing. Success is the warmest place to hide. I had so many people that were telling me I was
00:43:05.760 great. That it was no problem that you're doing this. And you know, Hollywood didn't care. It still
00:43:11.620 doesn't care if you lose your family. That was every day. They're like, Hey man, but now you can
00:43:15.860 put you in three movies. And I wanted to add that this addiction preceded the marriage. So fame just
00:43:21.940 made it worse. And it's really true that, that power, that success amplifies what's already going on
00:43:30.040 inside you. And that is why I couldn't help him. And I'm thankful. And I'm lucky that he made the
00:43:39.020 choice to do that. This porn addiction thing is a big problem. I cannot tell you how many letters I
00:43:45.520 get into the mailbag and people sending in tweets and things like that, who are young men who are
00:43:50.340 asking about porn addiction, who are in despair because they got hooked on porn from when they were
00:43:55.360 eight years old or something. I mean, I think that the average age that boys are exposed to porn is
00:44:01.080 like 10 or 11. And because it was when they were so young, it totally warped their minds and they got
00:44:06.200 stuck and it screws up their relationship and it screws up their sense of self-worth and it screws
00:44:09.380 up their sense of the world. And this issue is one that is not really talked about. And when it is
00:44:15.700 talked about, it's talked about with flippancy and glibness and the stale rhetoric of the left and the
00:44:22.120 right for that matter. On the right, what you hear from the kind of basic boomer libertarian
00:44:29.640 conservative rhetoric is, you know, come on, you can't ban porn. It's free speech. Come on. It's
00:44:33.960 you don't want to ban porn. First, first of all, you hear it from the right wingers who they just
00:44:39.840 really want to be cool. You know, like I'm not an, I'm not, I'm not a usual kind of right winger.
00:44:44.960 I'm a cool right winger. It's like the mother and mean girls. You know, I'm not a regular mom. I'm a
00:44:48.460 cool mom. I'm a cool conservative. You know, yeah, I like porn or whatever. And so you, you hear that
00:44:53.200 kind of silliness, which there's nothing conservative about porn. Okay. But also porn is
00:44:58.440 not protected free speech. It's just not, it never has been. And it probably, it may very well be,
00:45:03.640 but only because people are conflating liberty and licentiousness. Obscenity has never been
00:45:08.000 protected by law going back to the earliest days of our, of our country. Actually, even before the
00:45:14.140 country was officially founded, you know, in, in the late 18th century, going back to Governor
00:45:19.900 Bradford, okay, going back to the Mayflower and Plymouth colony, there was a guy from a nearby
00:45:24.220 colony who wrote what, what Governor Bradford considered to be sort of lecherous sonnets,
00:45:31.640 you know, little, little poems that he felt were a little too titillating for puritanical austerity.
00:45:37.020 And Governor Bradford very nearly executed him for that. Okay. And ultimately he said, ah, it'll be
00:45:44.200 kind of bad for the diplomatic issues here. So instead, Governor Bradford in his great mercy
00:45:48.500 marooned him on an Island until a ship from England could take him back and get him out of the mother
00:45:53.100 country. Okay. That tradition goes back very far in America. And in the early days, we've had
00:45:57.940 protections against obscenity and we were still enforcing them as, as recently as 2009, 2009 at the
00:46:04.400 tail end of the Bush administration, there was a pornographer who was sent to prison for obscenity
00:46:09.480 charges. Not even, it's not even like it was child porn or it was this, it was just for obscene
00:46:14.780 stuff. We have lots of limitations on this. We always have until recently when conservatives,
00:46:19.820 putative conservatives bought the liberal stupid rhetoric about how there's nothing more American
00:46:24.680 and nothing more protected by the first amendment than looking at ladies jiggle on the internet
00:46:28.940 or weirder stuff. You know, there's basically a porn for everything, right? That's the
00:46:34.360 expression goes, if you can think it, there's a porn for it. That stuff, we've got to take that
00:46:37.880 seriously. So you got to ditch the stupid right-wing rhetoric on it and you got to ditch the stupid
00:46:42.280 left-wing rhetoric on it that it's, this is somehow good for you. I mean, the left has been pushing
00:46:45.740 the sexualization of children for decades and decades and decades. It goes back at least to one
00:46:50.900 of these kooky left theorists, Wilhelm Reich, who was writing a century ago, almost a century ago.
00:46:55.600 And then you see the same nonsense espoused by Bernie Sanders himself, very prominent left-winger,
00:47:01.780 almost got the democratic nomination for president. He's been a senator for forever.
00:47:06.680 And he would write essays in the sixties in the Vermont Freeman about how we need to sexualize
00:47:11.860 children and how that's good for them and how we need to normalize these sorts of things. You can
00:47:16.640 read about that, by the way, in my upcoming book, Speechless, Controlling Words, Controlling Minds,
00:47:19.260 available now for pre-order. The left has been pushing that. We got to ditch that kind of crazy
00:47:24.820 rhetoric. And by the way, you want to talk about stale rhetoric? The left always says that young men,
00:47:29.400 toxic young men, they need to talk about their feelings and their problems. Well, okay. The
00:47:34.480 ones who are writing into my show, talking about this very real issue, they're talking about their
00:47:38.800 feelings and their problems. And what happens? They get made fun of. They get called incels.
00:47:43.260 They get called losers. They get called basement dwellers by, by the very libs who were saying that
00:47:48.660 the young men need to talk about their feelings. But we are not, we are not allowed to,
00:47:54.400 to talk about that because of this. It's, it's not even because we don't understand that there
00:48:00.680 is an issue. I think people do sense that there's an issue on the left and the right,
00:48:03.380 but we're just locked in this prism of stupid, stupid slogans. And it's, it's being enforced by
00:48:10.320 the liberal establishment. There is some good news though, on this messaging front. So the,
00:48:13.980 the Baltimore state attorney, Marilyn Mosby, one of the most radical loons out there in,
00:48:19.880 in office today, she filed a complaint with the FCC, the Federal Communications Commission,
00:48:25.940 accusing a Fox News affiliate of endangering the lives of Mosby and her family with racist
00:48:34.080 news coverage. That because Fox, the local, it's not even Fox, the cable channel, it's Fox,
00:48:39.440 the local affiliate, because they weren't spouting the left wing line, that that's racist and that
00:48:44.460 endangers her family and the FCC has got to kick them off. So FCC commissioner Brendan Carr had a great
00:48:48.520 response. He said, the state attorney's office led by Democrat Marilyn Mosby has launched a chilling
00:48:53.740 and direct attack on free speech and journalistic freedom. It is particularly troubling that a public
00:48:57.880 official would work to silence reporters that are investigating her work at a time when federal
00:49:02.100 prosecutors have already opened a criminal investigation into her activities. The FCC should
00:49:06.000 make clear that it will not operate as the DNC's speech police. Good. I'm very glad that at least the
00:49:12.300 government is not totally getting involved here in enforcing the left's stale, crazy rhetoric.
00:49:19.140 They're involved to some degree, but not, not at the level of the FCC. That's what we're going to
00:49:22.560 have to crack. We have to pay clear attention to language here, folks, which of course is the sort
00:49:26.800 of thing that you can read about in my upcoming book, Speechless, Controlling Words, Controlling
00:49:30.880 Minds, available now for pre-order. Is that, uh-oh, what's going on? Oh, that was, that was one too
00:49:36.000 mini-plug. Oh, no. I'm Michael Knowles. This is the Michael Knowles Show. I'll see you tomorrow.
