Summary

In this episode, Alex Blumberg talks about the new White House social media ideal and what it means for our First Amendment rights and freedom of speech. He also talks about how the White House can now dictate who should and should not be on social media platforms and what they should and shouldn't be spreading misinformation. Alex also discusses the latest in the Hunter Biden laptop scandal and how the mainstream media will cover it and what will happen when it's proven to be a big fake news story that just disappeared because it ended up not being a big news story at all. Alex also asks the question: Will the media be able to do their job as a responsible news outlet when it comes to covering the Russia/Trump/Podesta scandal? And what will the media do when it is proven that it was all a hoax? And does it have a chance to be proven right or is it going to continue to be used as a tool to further a political agenda and smear President Trump and his administration? The answer to all of those questions will have a big impact on the future of our free speech rights and our ability to free ourselves from censorship and free speech in the 21st century. We can't have it all, we have to choose our own truth and choose our truth, and we can't choose who we want to spread it and who we don't want to be told it and how they can spread it. It's up to us to decide what we want us to think about it and not what we believe in it and whether or not we should be allowed to have a say in what we're told to believe it and we should or not have a voice in the information we receive. or not. 00:00:00.000 Guys, if you're wondering if you're losing your First Amendment right, the basic right to free speech in this country, look no further than last week's press conference with Jen Psaki.
00:00:09.000 Listen to what she says right here.
00:00:11.000 Listen to it, and I'm going to come back with a lot of commentary.
00:00:15.000 In terms of actions, Alex, that we have taken, or we're working to take, I should say, from the federal government, we've increased disinformation research and tracking within the Surgeon General's office.
00:00:26.000 We're flagging problematic posts for Facebook that spread disinformation.
00:00:30.000 We're working with doctors and medical professionals to connect to connected medical experts who are popular with their audiences with accurate information and boost trusted content.
00:00:42.000 So we're helping get trusted content out there.
00:00:44.000 We also created the COVID Community Corps to get factual information into the hands of local messengers.
00:00:52.000 And we're also investing, as you'll have seen, in the presidents, the vice presidents, and Dr.
00:00:56.000 Fauci's time. Okay, so under the new White House's social media ideal, where essentially the White House can dictate who should and should not be thrown off of social media platforms, I have a couple questions for you.
00:01:08.000 Will they ban people like Adam Full of Schiff in Congress who pushed for Russia, Russia, Russia collusion?
00:01:16.000 Remember, he had seen the evidence with his own eyes.
00:01:18.000 He told us that on numerous occasions he'd seen the evidence.
00:01:22.000 Turns out that was a lie.
00:01:23.000 And it was a lie when the rest of the Democratic caucus in Congress said the same thing on TV repeatedly.
00:01:31.000 Will they be thrown off of these social media platforms for spreading misinformation?
00:01:35.000 Because It feels like they should be based on what the White House is trying to implement.
00:01:41.000 Will Congress, who pushed Russia collusion forever, will Congress and the mainstream media that talked about Russia bounties, remember the Russian bounty story?
00:01:50.000 Can't believe Trump's not acting.
00:01:52.000 Well, turns out, not exactly accurate, but it was a good way to hurt Donald Trump.
00:01:56.000 It was really effective so we can say it.
00:01:58.000 And there's gonna be no consequence because the media's gonna carry our message.
00:02:02.000 When it gets disproven, they're just gonna pretend like it never happened because they are on the same team.
00:02:07.000 Seems like it was a big news story that just disappeared because it ended up being nonsense, right?
00:02:14.000 Will the major intelligence officials and agencies who said on TV and verbatim on many platforms that the Hunter Biden laptop from hell was Russian disinformation, right?
00:02:28.000 They went there, the media said it, social media blocked anyone from talking about the laptop from hell.
00:02:33.000 I have a feeling that if it was Don Jr's laptop from hell, I would not be afforded the same benefit of the doubt.
00:02:40.000 Nonetheless, this was a big story.
00:02:42.000 So will all of those clowns, you know, whoever it was, the intelligence idiot, whether it's the McCabe types of the world and those guys, the Brennans of the world, the Comeys of the world, those guys spread a lot of misinformation too.
00:02:54.000 Some of them actually lied before Congress, and yet they still have social media platforms.
00:02:59.000 They have not yet been thrown off.
00:03:01.000 But under the White House rules, did they report them?
00:03:04.000 Because you would think that they would have reported those people for lying.
00:03:08.000 Or does it only work one way?
00:03:10.000 Meaning, if the narrative is convenient and conducive to furthering your political agenda, we're not going to report you.
00:03:18.000 If you're the opposition, now we're reporting you.
00:03:21.000 For example, I don't think that they reported Anthony Fauci, Dr.
00:03:25.000 Fauci, for spreading misinformation, right?
00:03:28.000 Now, if you see his TV interviews and the commentary that he made there, and so many of the opinions that he gave went all over social media, and you read his emails, you realize there is a stark contrast between What he says on TV and what he said in the emails.
00:03:45.000 Now, was he lying on TV or was he lying in the emails?
00:03:49.000 Was he telling the truth on TV and lying in the emails?
00:03:51.000 I don't know which one it is, but they're exact opposites, so it can't be both.
00:03:56.000 Will they be reporting him for removal so that we can't spread and continue to spread that kind of misinformation to the general public?
00:04:06.000 You see where I'm getting at, folks?
00:04:07.000 This is kind of scary.
00:04:08.000 This is a real threat when they can weaponize these kind of platforms.
00:04:12.000 And again, I've been told for a long time, these are private companies.
00:04:14.000 They can do what I want. Now, I understand.
00:04:15.000 They take direction from the Democrats anyway, essentially.
00:04:18.000 They follow them. And, you know, one side gets hit.
00:04:20.000 The other side probably doesn't.
00:04:21.000 Yada, yada, yada. We've seen it again.
00:04:23.000 She's actually said she's going to dictate to them who's spreading misinformation because that seems to violate so much of the tenet of, no, no, no.
00:04:31.000 They're a private company. They can do what they want.
00:04:33.000 They can do what they want but take a direct mandate from the federal government?
00:04:37.000 I don't think so, guys.
00:04:39.000 I'm pretty sure that's not how it works.
00:04:41.000 It was really bad before, and this just got a lot worse.
00:04:45.000 You know, Michael Avenatti.
00:04:47.000 Presidential hopeful Michael Avenatti.
00:04:49.000 I want to make sure that I'm accurate so I don't get thrown off for misinformation.
00:04:52.000 CNN told us this. I think he still has a social media presence.
00:04:55.000 Now, it's going to be really hard for him to use it from prison, but, you know, he hasn't been thrown off, and yet a lot of conservatives have.
00:05:03.000 So I'm wondering, is this something that's only going to be enforced one way?
00:05:07.000 Because that doesn't feel very American.
00:05:09.000 That doesn't feel like we have a real First Amendment.
00:05:11.000 If a partisan hack in the White House or a partisan administration in the White House can dictate to the social media platforms who or who will not have a platform to speak their mind.
00:05:24.000 To exercise their First Amendment rights.
00:05:26.000 To give opinion.
00:05:28.000 Because, guess what guys?
00:05:29.000 You don't have a First Amendment if you can't give an opinion as long as it does not align with The narrative of the ruling class.
00:05:38.000 That should scare all of us bigly.
00:05:41.000 So pay attention. Let's make sure we're asking these questions because we haven't really gotten answers, but that shouldn't surprise us.
00:05:47.000 The media will run cover from their allies.
00:05:50.000 They will do that for people like Jen Psaki.
00:05:52.000 Trump would not get that benefit of the doubt, just like I wouldn't get the benefit of the doubt if it was the Don Jr.
00:05:57.000 laptop from hell instead of the Hunter Biden laptop from hell.
00:06:01.000 Pay attention, folks. Watch what's going on and make sure you share these messages so other people see it.
00:06:06.000 We're working against enough.
