Summary

Kabul, Afghanistan has been taken over by the Taliban in a matter of hours, and this is CNN's take on what that means for the future of the country and the world. The Taliban are chanting "Death to America" but they seem pretty friendly at the same time. Let's just remember, they'll do anything at this point, guys. So watch this CNN take, watch what happens, and then come back in a couple of days, and come back, you know, maybe at the end of next week, and let's revisit how well this take really aged. Because I have a feeling it's not going to age well, folks. It's not like the Taliban haven't started beheading anyone yet, at least not on film, although we all know that's likely coming. They haven't even started enslaving women yet, although I imagine that too is coming. So this was CNN s take, because CNN's gonna be CNN. The same people that brought you mostly peaceful protests. Remember that one from last time? Remember that? as there are buildings burning in the background? Mostly peaceful protests, as there is a building burning, and I quote, they're chanting, They're chanting death to America. They seem friendly. But they seem like they're also...not on film yet. by the same people who brought you "mostly peaceful protests" last time, right? So this is a CNN take about the Taliban, because, of course, they haven t started beheadings yet, yet, but I imagine they're likely coming soon. And this is going to be coming. . in a few days, right?? And this was a good one, folks and this will be better than last week's take, right I lllllllll? (Note: I know, I can't make this stuff up. (and I know it's going to go better than that. ) (honestly, I don't know what's coming. I don t have a better than this one, but it'll be better next week. I'll be back, I promise you that much better than the last one, I know that) -- so I'll let you know what I'm going to do that on the next one, and it's coming soon, I'm sure you ll be back soon, right here on next week! )

00:02:21.000 They're just chanting death to America, but they seem friendly at the same time.
00:02:26.000 It's utterly bizarre.
00:02:27.000 At the presidential palace, the Taliban are now guarding the gate.
00:02:32.000 They say they're here to fill the vacuum left when the government fled.
00:02:36.000 But the welcoming spirit only extends so far, and my presence soon creates tension.
00:02:43.000 They've just told me to stand to the side because I'm a woman.
00:02:49.000 Outside, ordinary Afghans clamored to talk to us, struggling to process the dizzying speed of Kabul's fall.
00:02:57.000 Actually, I feel nothing right now.
00:02:59.000 We want peace. We are tired of this ongoing war.
00:03:03.000 What does the future look like to you now?
00:03:05.000 You know, I cannot predict even in seconds right now, and I can't predict even minutes right now.
00:03:11.000 So that's why I don't know what will happen tomorrow and what will happen after.
00:03:18.000 And that's really what it feels like on the ground.
00:03:21.000 Honestly, John and Brianna, it's anyone's guess as to what the situation on the ground will look like in two hours, let alone two days, two months.
00:03:29.000 And that profound sense of anxiety, I think you may not see it on the streets, but it's the people who aren't on the streets today that in some ways are the real story the people that are hiding in their homes who are petrified to go out who are worried about being targeted who fear for their lives who are too scared to tell their stories but their stories must be told because in this moment their fear and their desperation is so real As we saw with those extraordinary images coming from the airport that I don't think any of us will be able to forget anytime soon,
