00:00:00.000 What is your position on the Indian Act?
00:00:03.200 Yeah, but speaking about that, I just want to let note to people,
00:00:06.480 when I was a member of parliament and I was a conservative,
00:00:10.260 what Stephen Harper did that was very good,
00:00:13.200 we passed a legislation for more transparency
00:00:15.980 with all the money that the federal government is giving to these bands
00:00:19.760 and First Nations.
00:00:21.280 So we were asking for transparency.
00:00:24.440 When we passed that bill, oh my God,
00:00:27.160 all the lobbies and all these special interest groups were there,
00:00:30.960 but we were able to pass it and that bill was enforced.
00:00:34.500 The first thing that the Trudeau did when he went in government in 2015
00:00:39.220 is to repeal that bill.
00:00:41.840 And there's billions of dollars that are going to First Nation
00:00:45.760 and we don't know what's happening.
00:00:48.080 For us, yes, we must be sure that, you know,
00:00:51.540 all the money that the Canadian taxpayers are giving to bands
00:00:56.380 and First Nation, where that money is going,
00:00:59.500 what are they doing with that, all that must be transparent.
00:01:03.860 But our position on First Nation, you know,
00:01:07.080 we don't have radical racism in this country.
00:01:11.560 I said that a long time ago.
00:01:13.320 But we have a racist act, the Indian Act.
00:01:17.280 We must abolish that act.
00:01:19.320 And we must have a new relationship with the First Nation
00:01:23.000 based on property rights, on respect,
00:01:26.940 because in a reserve, there's no property rights.
00:01:30.360 You don't own your house over there.
00:01:33.040 That's a collective property rights.
00:01:35.940 And that's why they don't take care of their own.
00:01:38.920 That's not their own.
00:01:40.320 And so we need to have a kind of property rights on reserve.
00:01:43.540 And we need to abolish the Indian Act
00:01:46.140 to build a new relationship.
00:01:48.500 And, you know, no more.
00:01:50.520 And what they did in Australia, they did good.
00:01:52.740 They gave a lump sum to their First Nation.
00:01:55.900 I don't remember how many billion dollars,
00:01:58.740 but that was it.
00:02:00.100 And after that, you are like us, no special treatments.
00:02:04.260 So we need to build that new relationship
00:02:06.420 with the First Nation,
00:02:07.920 starting by abolishing the Indian Act for sure.
00:02:13.540 Thank you.
