00:00:00.000 Hi, I'm Michelle Sterling for Friends of Science Society.
00:00:11.000 CBC is reporting that a group of youth are planning to launch a lawsuit against the federal government,
00:00:16.000 claiming Ottawa's role in perpetuating the crisis of climate violates their fundamental rights.
00:00:22.000 CBC reports that in an unusual move, the intent to file the lawsuit
00:00:27.000 was announced Wednesday by the David Suzuki Foundation, which is backing the teens as a co-plaintiff.
00:00:34.000 Well, that all looks so grassroots, doesn't it?
00:00:37.000 Except, the David Suzuki Foundation has been funded by Power Corporation since 2007,
00:00:43.000 the 358th largest corporation in the world.
00:00:46.000 The climate strike movement, as it turns out, is part of a huge corporate offset scheme
00:00:52.000 by a bunch of green billionaires.
00:00:55.000 I just got this public offering document last night, the English version of the Swedish offering,
00:01:02.000 selling shares in what looks to be the world's largest social media, social engineering,
00:01:08.000 and carbon offset scheme ever.
00:01:11.000 I was aghast at the breathtaking scope and vision of this plan,
00:01:15.000 and staggered by how successful they have been.
00:01:18.000 We Don't Have Time is the name of the organization, and of course, the entire theme is built around a presumed climate crisis.
00:01:27.000 Greta Thunberg is listed as the youth advisor to this highly sophisticated bandwagoning ad campaign
00:01:33.000 that's designed to drive up or down the brand reputation of any company or individual with climate hearts or climate bombs.
00:01:41.000 In fact, it seems like Greta is a walking native advertisement for this carbon offset company, a wildly successful one at that.
00:01:52.000 In Canada, there are laws against raising public alarm.
00:01:56.000 There are ad council rules against using children for commercial purposes, like this one.
00:02:03.000 Advertisements must not exploit superstitions or play upon fears to mislead the consumer.
00:02:08.000 Advertising to children must not exploit their credulity, their lack of experience, or their sense of loyalty.
00:02:15.000 It must not present information or illustrations that might result in their physical, emotional, or moral harm.
00:02:22.000 The claims of a climate crisis are wildly exaggerated, according to more than 500 scientists and professionals.
00:02:29.000 Even individual scientists have spoken out against climate deadlines and catastrophe and climate deadline headlines.
00:02:37.000 Another factor in the Ad Standards Council, avoid undue pressure.
00:02:42.000 Children must not be directly urged to purchase or ask their parents to make inquiries or purchases.
00:02:48.000 Social values, a range of values that are inconsistent with the moral, ethical, or legal standards of contemporary Canadian society, must not be encouraged or portrayed.
00:02:59.000 Well, the legal voting age in Canada is 18, but the David Suzuki Foundation has been running the 8 to 18 website,
00:03:07.000 pushing for the legal age of kids to be dropped, or that adults should vote for me, as in the vote from the fears of a child, rather than the rational evaluation of an adult.
00:03:18.000 Why do I bring up Canadian rules about a Swedish company?
00:03:22.000 Because on the same board of directors of the related Swedish foundation of We Don't Have Time, where Greta is listed as a youth advisor,
00:03:30.000 the director of a Canadian non-profit, Citizens' Climate Lobby, is listed as a director.
00:03:36.000 According to their website, they've been relentlessly advocating for a carbon tax and dividend since 2010.
00:03:43.000 The Competition Bureau also has rules for social influencers presenting themselves without acknowledging their commercial associations,
00:03:52.000 and there are also rules against greenwashing, pretending something or some product is green when it's not.
00:03:58.000 And in Alberta, the Alberta Securities Commission has a list of red flags about suspicious investment opportunities,
00:04:05.000 and one of them is to stay away from anything that has an aura of urgency about it.
00:04:11.000 So what are carbon offsets, you say, and why be concerned?
00:04:14.000 Well, it might be worthwhile to look at Interpol.
00:04:17.000 They have an excellent guide to carbon trading crime, and it addresses some of the mysteries and pitfalls of trading carbon offsets.
00:04:24.000 And Deloitte Forensics has a helpful guide on white-collar crime.
00:04:28.000 And what am I saying here?
00:04:30.000 I'm saying that millions of Canadian children are being scared to death on climate change,
00:04:37.000 and now the Government of Canada is being sued by a movement that is deeply embedded in a cyber-commercial enterprise run by green billionaires out of Sweden.
00:04:47.000 You've been duped, Canada. There's no climate emergency.
00:04:51.000 But you know what I find even more scary about all of this?
00:04:55.000 One of the people associated with the Swedish public offering is a fellow who thinks we should have rapid decarbonization.
00:05:02.000 A global carbon tax law of $400 per tonne.
00:05:08.000 He was the co-author of a paper published last year that drove headlines around the world for weeks.
00:05:13.000 Hot House Earth. Remember that?
00:05:16.000 But I did an analysis of his paper and found something odd.
00:05:19.000 That science paper seemed more like an advertorial.
00:05:23.000 And while it raged on and on about the Anthropocene, just weeks before it was published,
00:05:29.000 the world's largest scientific body, the International Union of Geological Sciences,
00:05:34.000 had issued a statement that we're in the Meghalion.
00:05:37.000 We're not in the Anthropocene.
00:05:40.000 In fact, they said the term Anthropocene is more a sociological term.
00:05:46.000 So, climate strike kids, you're skipping school, you're wasting Canadian taxpayers' dollars,
00:05:52.000 and you're all working for free for green billionaires and big corporations
00:05:56.000 whose plan is to put Canada and you into carbon serfdom forever.
00:06:02.000 There's no climate crisis.
00:06:04.000 Read our new report and see why.
00:06:06.000 Misguided math. Misinterpreted science.
00:06:09.000 For Friends of Science Society, I'm Michelle Sterling.
00:06:12.000 For Friends of Science Society, I'm Michelle Sterling.
00:06:16.000 We'll see you.
00:06:17.000 Thank you.
00:06:18.000 You
00:06:21.000 For Questions, please.
00:06:23.000 Remember Please join us, draw us away.
00:06:33.000 How, what is Stephanie struggling!
