00:00:13.540 And so we simply went to the doctor when my son was four months of age and he received

00:00:30.000 office was not the son we took to the doctor's office, that he immediately was changed by

00:00:35.880 He became agitated, irritable, this pleasant, happy baby that was easy to feed and sleep

00:00:46.140 All of a sudden, we had an unhappy child and we actually took him back to our family doctor

00:00:52.080 twice in the coming weeks to say there's something wrong here and we were dismissed and we said like

00:01:17.620 normal. This is just what happens. And get on with it. Day 21, after his first vaccine shot,

00:01:25.820 he had a grand mal seizure. And the grand mal seizure was 25 minutes long. And I didn't know

00:01:31.480 what to make of it. I mean, I'm seeing my son convulsing. I'd never seen a seizure before in

00:01:35.780 an infant like that. And I thought he was dying. We called an ambulance, of course, took him to

00:01:41.320 the hospital. They put him on some anti-seizure medication and sent us home and said, treat your

00:01:47.240 son is a normal child and everything will be fine one month later he seized again again a 25 minute

00:01:53.040 seizure and so the short of it is is that in spite of all of the medication we tried every single

00:01:59.640 medication that the pharmaceutical industry had to offer we even tried experimental medications

00:02:04.720 that had no history of safety or efficacy but we were desperate josh was seizing initially

00:02:11.060 every month. And the seizures were always 15 to 20 minutes long. But over time, the seizures

00:02:18.040 increased in frequency. And by the time he was four, he was seizing 12 to 15 times a day.

00:02:23.220 And again, every seizure was 15 to 20 minutes long. So our day was seizure after seizure after

00:02:29.400 seizure. To give you an idea of how often we were accessing medical services, in one three-month

00:02:36.720 period we had called an ambulance over 30 times oh ted when josh was five the chief neurologist

00:02:43.840 took me aside one day and he said mr kunst please do not bring your son back to hospital

00:02:47.760 and i said how come he said there's nothing we can do for him take him home love him or he said

00:02:54.960 if you want to leave him here and go make more babies go do that and for me that was a horrendous

00:03:01.760 suggestion that I would leave my son in the hospital and just abandon him. And we took him

00:03:08.500 home and I was not ready to give up. I began to look for alternative health care. I knew nothing

00:03:13.620 about naturopathy or homeopathy or any of those things. As far as I was concerned, I was like

00:03:20.300 most people. I thought it was quackery or had no merit. But again, the traditional medical system

00:03:28.480 had been closed to me. And so I started to look for alternatives. And the very first naturopath

00:03:34.240 that we found for Josh, he said, you know, your son is vaccine injured. And I said, I've always

00:03:38.980 suspected that, but nobody would confirm that or nobody would agree to that. And she said,

00:03:44.340 we have to detoxify him. And she began a whole regimen of everything from herbs and remedies and

00:03:50.340 homeopathy and detoxification. And over a three year period, she was able to reduce the amount

00:03:57.800 of seizing to three to four times a month. And each seizure was reduced to 30 seconds. So

00:04:03.620 an incredible improvement. Now that's the best we got. So we still lived with Josh seizing

00:04:11.720 on a weekly basis, but the seizures were 30 seconds compared to 15 or 20 minutes.

00:04:17.380 And our life became somewhat normal as a result of that. But Josh could never be left alone.

00:04:23.920 somebody had to be with him 24 hours a day because you never knew when he was going to cease

00:04:29.500 and his capacity had been reduced to the level of a two-year-old so

00:04:33.680 josh died at age 32 but he required 24-hour care for that those 32 years
