In this episode, my office provides an update on the Federal Workers' Action, the First Responder and Essential Worker Action in Ontario, and the First Responder and Essential worker action in other Ontario municipalities. I also discuss the Supreme Court challenge to mandatory vaccine testing at the border by the Canadian government.
00:00:00.000The other update I have is that my office is also, before I went into a coma, I began drafting a statement of claim in the Federal Workers' Action.
00:00:10.380We, on May 31st, my office issued a statement of claim in Federal Court to the tune of $640 million against the Federal Government on behalf of about 640 federal employees who were fired for refusing to take the vaccine.
00:00:31.800That got filed May 31st. You know, not that I'm an egotistical, Tanya, but I don't think it's a coincidence that the prime minstrel of Canada suspended temporarily the vaccine mandates to travel because they were front and center.
00:00:49.080They are front and center as part of our challenge, the federal challenge.
00:00:53.600So he's playing cat and mouse with us. He wants to go to court and say, oh, you don't have to hear this because we've suspended them temporarily.
00:00:59.740But as everybody knows, he's playing games saying they're going to may bring them back if necessary.
00:01:05.240Plus, now they've reinstituted random mandatory testing at the border.
00:01:10.220We've challenged that as well in that federal action.
00:01:13.360So we may go in an injunction to stop the PCR testing, which contravenes Section 14 of the Quarantine Act.
00:01:20.760And so in addition to that, on June 15 of this year, we issued notice in Ontario, if you want to sue the Crown for damages, you have to give the Crown 60 days notice of the claim.
00:01:38.640So we issued notice with an attachment of the statement of claim we will be filing August 15th on behalf of 424 Ontario health care workers, nurses, doctors, orderlies who work in the health care system,
00:01:56.380who were given the same ultimatum by Doug Ford and the hospitals under Directive 6, saying either take the jab or lose your job.
00:02:04.300We are in the process, we're almost there, of organizing what we're calling the first responder and essential worker action in Ontario on behalf of police officers, firefighters, ambulance drivers, sanitation workers, and transit workers in different various municipalities in Ontario.
