Action4Canada - Lisa Robinson - Durham Residents Express Concerns Surrounding Neutrality Within Our Government

00:00:00.000 uh thank you for your time um on may 24 2023 i believe i wrote every counselor and mayor

00:00:16.800 within the durham region to voice my concerns regarding the equity and diversity program

00:00:22.560 being introduced into the durham district school board curriculum and the community as a whole

00:00:28.160 i expressed my opinions regarding the pornographic nature of textbooks the danger of co-ed bathrooms

00:00:36.320 the promotion of gay curriculum in class raising of special interest pride flags with the canadian

00:00:42.640 flag drag queen and drag queens story time in our public libraries and restaurants i also stated

00:00:49.680 that i agree with lisa robinson on all of her proposals i literally heard from one mayor sean

00:00:57.280 collier from ajax he appeared to relinquish any responsibility for what goes on in the schools

00:01:04.720 at the different district school board and trustees and made no mention of the drag queen story time

00:01:11.680 in our libraries he did however mention the current diver diversity equity hate and discrimination

00:01:20.160 propaganda ad nauseam this is a disgrace counselors and mayors completely ignoring responsibilities to

00:01:27.280 their community i feel lisa robinson is a stellar example of a public official hearing her constituents

00:01:34.400 concerns and voicing them there are many taxpayers who have had enough with this current narrative

00:01:40.400 she is genuinely concerned about the safety of our young children not spreading division in the

00:01:45.520 community i am relieved that she has some division decision making power i am encouraging all of her

00:01:53.920 fellow counselors to hear concerns to sit down and discuss support her in this mothers fathers

00:02:00.800 grandparents patients on these matters is wearing thin if you follow current events the rallies and

00:02:07.360 protests are getting larger louder and more frequent everyone's rights need to be respected

00:02:15.520 i am here today in support of counselor robinson what was her position on the safety and well-being

00:02:27.440 committee as well as the important motions that she's brought forward in the short time she's been

00:02:32.000 a member of council we need more counselors like her i believe council should be ashamed of themselves 1.00

00:02:38.160 for trying to silence counselor robinson she is doing her job speaking up and representing her constituents

00:02:44.880 in my opinion your behavior describes that of a bully and it's unprofessional to say the least

00:02:53.760 counselor robinson is the only member on council who has earned this position on the safety and

00:02:57.760 well-being committee as she has been the only one on council who has shown to put the safety and

00:03:02.400 well-being of her community above all else which of you are capable of taking her place the amount of

00:03:09.760 six to one votes would say you are not i wish to see the rest of you stand with councilor robinson and

00:03:15.920 put people first it's unfortunate this council has the arrogance to pass reports and motions when your

00:03:22.560 staff can't even answer miss robinson's questions or have the data to back up your reports

00:03:30.240 counselor robinson based her many defeated six to one votes shows that she does not just go along with 0.99

00:03:35.680 something because she's told to there goes your four votes comments like the one councillor brender made

00:03:43.120 erode our trust in the democratic process and you as our elected officials in my opinion councillor

00:03:50.000 robinson is thinking critically it's evident that she puts the safety of her community as top priority

00:03:56.640 even today i would not be here as a delegation if it wasn't for her changing the policy so that i do not

00:04:01.600 have to announce my address on an open forum that is recorded and view it viewed by the public online

00:04:08.720 another safety issue only brought forward by councillor robinson i wonder how many people don't

00:04:14.800 participate or speak up for fear of retribution how many years have most of you been sitting up there on

00:04:21.520 council and it takes a newly elected official to bring forward these types of concerns

00:04:26.320 Olá! Mayor Ayers, you speak of the need to help those with mental illness and how it is near and dear

00:04:35.200 to your heart and yet you all went against councillor robinson and pass a report with at least 20 or

00:04:41.280 more unanswered questions by staff surrounding the homeless and mentally ill don't you think with

00:04:47.280 that amount of unanswered questions raised by councillor robinson that maybe the report should not have

00:04:52.240 passed until those were answered. Instead, it passed with a 6 to 1 vote.

00:05:01.180 Ms. Counselor has made a video showing many 6 to 1 votes. Not one of you up there has

00:05:07.720 shown to possess the neutrality or critical thinking skills that Ms. Robinson possesses.

00:05:13.660 She is not afraid to ask tough questions or go against the grain. She does what's right

00:05:18.540 even though she knows that her haters are waiting for a reason to attack her. It takes

00:05:24.020 a strong woman to stand alone, but I will tell you, she is not alone and she has a majority

00:05:28.800 standing with her, supporting her and her efforts. Most councillors only care about where their

00:05:35.080 next vote is coming from, caring more about themselves rather than who they represent.

00:05:42.380 Councillor Robinson even brought forward a motion in support of our veterans. It was one of the

00:05:47.240 the first thing she did as a new councillor, trying to think of the ways to give support

00:05:52.380 to our veterans and thanks for those who died for our country. She brought a geoengineering 1.00

00:05:59.180 motion forward so that the federal government would have to disclose a list of ingredients

00:06:05.360 being sprayed into the air we breathe through Councillor Brenner. Even though Councillor Brenner

00:06:10.240 read through the Harvard studies regarding geoengineering and knows that they're spraying our skies, he said

00:06:16.760 it wasn't important because it's for climate change. So he was okay with it. I for one am

00:06:22.940 not okay with it. I personally want to know what kinds of safety risks or side effects these

00:06:27.980 aerosols are having on us and what it's doing to the water we drink or the crops that we eat.

00:06:33.900 Being an elected official is not about what you want or your feelings. It's about representing

00:06:41.220 your constituents and what they want. You could all learn a thing or two from Councillor Robinson.

00:06:47.280 You all owe her a public apology for the way you've mistreated and dispatched her. Bullying

00:06:52.640 tactics are not tolerated by this community. We have had enough. She seems to be the only

00:06:58.560 councillor in Durham Region brave enough to stand up for the children, the safety of the

00:07:03.220 children to have a choice to feel safe in vulnerable spaces, public private spaces. She is also the only

00:07:10.240 one calling for a state of neutrality and challenging whether the city is following these policies

00:07:15.860 surrounding red flag raising and government facilities.

00:07:22.920 Neutrality is not favouring one side or another. That is inclusivity. It includes everyone without 0.96

00:07:29.580 bias.

00:07:33.580 There are safety concerns surrounding drag events for children. I don't think it's unreasonable

00:07:38.780 to ask for an 18-plus age restriction. Are you going to continue the very real safety concerns

00:07:45.240 regarding this topic? I support Councillor Robinson's proposed motions, all of them. I would like

00:07:52.640 to see some unity in this Council and real communication on topics that are important to Durham Region residents.

00:07:59.400 Tolerance, accepting, honouring, and promoting are four very different things. We are promoting

00:08:07.200 affirming care to children in schools. We have drag queens in our libraries. And a lot of parents

00:08:15.320 are very upset about it. If you continue to ignore it, you're going to continue to see division

00:08:20.640 in our communities. Lastly, I would like to ask

00:08:29.400 Councillor Brunner mentioned that these organizations sent letters in unsolicited.

00:08:36.860 I have information that states otherwise, that you spent an entire weekend soliciting signatures

00:08:46.580 from every organization in Pickering. And I will be getting a Freedom of Information request

00:08:52.520 to verify that. I'm not taking any questions. Thank you for your time.

00:08:57.040 Thank you. Thank you for your presentation. I appreciate it. Order, please. Our next delegate is in

00:09:08.040 .

00:09:15.500 .

00:09:18.500 .
