00:00:00.000 So this movement, obviously my daughters have gotten to grow up with me constantly bringing in the Charter of Rights and the Notice of Liabilities.
00:00:10.140 We had served the school last year. We served the school again this year.
00:00:13.680 It's been a constant battle.
00:00:16.820 My girls don't mask.
00:00:18.820 One of them due to a mask exemption.
00:00:21.940 But it hasn't really been a problem until recently when Vienna came and there was an actual group of students themselves that had said,
00:00:29.360 OK, that's it. We are done with this. We are not going to mask anymore.
00:00:33.660 We've had enough. And so Vienna had asked me if I would come and serve the Notice of Liabilities and stand with them.
00:00:40.940 And so I put a call out to the parents and tried to get everything going.
00:00:46.000 Now, what ended up happening was the night before or the day before there was a massive blizzard that rolled in,
00:00:52.420 which kind of kiboshed our immediate go ahead on Monday.
00:00:57.140 And so there was some kids at school, but for the majority, my kids are on a bus route, so they weren't able to attend.
00:01:03.200 The highways were closed. So we had planned it for Tuesday.
00:01:07.000 And that night, as the kids were leaving, the teachers were very explicit in telling them that they had gotten wind of this movement.
00:01:14.020 And they were told that if they showed up to school unmasked, that they would be getting the $2,800 fines,
00:01:20.580 that they would be suspended and so on and so forth, right down to that they would have a permanent mark on their educational record.
00:01:29.160 And it would stop them from getting into university if they did this.
00:01:32.900 Further to that, we had another teacher send out a snap message, basically guilting the kids and saying,
00:01:38.960 we've worked so hard for you. We have tried to do this so well.
00:01:42.260 But if you do this, we will suspend you. And there's no way we're tolerating this.
00:01:46.860 So the next day we did get up.
00:01:50.660 Like I said, 10 kids were there originally.
00:01:53.940 The other kids had backed down.
00:01:55.440 So there was the entire foyer was lined with kids, all masked again.
00:02:01.080 Our group of 10 stood there.
00:02:03.800 And prior to the teachers realizing that I was there, they attacked them.
00:02:08.400 As soon as they came in the door, they just get your masks on.
00:02:11.820 We're going to call the police. You're going to be suspended.
00:02:13.900 And I turned around and said, you do know there's a parent standing here.
00:02:16.820 And all of a sudden it was like, oh, and everybody backed off.
00:02:20.520 And the principal came in. The vice principal came in.
00:02:23.100 And vice principal will not talk to me.
00:02:25.560 She's aware of who I am.
00:02:27.160 But she went after the kids while I was talking to the principal.
00:02:30.620 And everything was very, very calm.
00:02:33.400 We tried to explain what the kids wanted.
00:02:36.600 They just wanted a chance to be heard.
00:02:38.880 They wanted a chance to ask questions.
00:02:41.280 And the principal was not having any of it.
00:02:44.240 And then had told us that he was going to be calling the police.
00:02:47.960 So I said, okay, please, by all means, go ahead.
00:02:50.700 We're not doing anything illegal.
00:02:52.140 The kids were tremendous.
00:02:54.220 They were quiet.
00:02:55.020 They were respectful.
00:02:56.500 We did serve the drop the mic letters to the teachers that were there and to the principal.
00:03:01.840 And we just sat there.
00:03:03.520 And the vice principal went around to behind the kids and said, do you really want to be here when the cops show up?
00:03:08.840 Do you want to be arrested?
00:03:09.960 Do you want to be here when this goes down?
00:03:12.120 Just get masked or you'll be expelled.
00:03:14.180 And this is behind my back.
00:03:15.980 So I wasn't able to defend the kids.
00:03:18.840 And so two of the kids just were like, we're done.
00:03:21.660 And they put their mask on and went off to school.
00:03:24.260 And the police did attend right off the hop.
00:03:29.720 They kind of came in and they know who I am and, you know, just asked what was going on.
00:03:35.080 And, again, when I was speaking with the police and speaking with the principal, it's very matter-of-fact.
00:03:42.260 I did not raise my voice.
00:03:43.960 None of the kids got upset.
00:03:45.460 I stayed very calm and said, this is what the actual laws are.
00:03:48.720 This is what our legalities are.
00:03:50.080 And one of the kids just openly said, why did you have to call the police?
00:03:54.380 Why does it have to go this way?
00:03:57.180 You know, we were able to explain in front of the police officer, who is actually a sergeant here at our detachment,
00:04:02.980 things like, you know, he was trying to have me removed for trespassing.
00:04:07.760 I actually have children that go to that school that were with me in my presence.
00:04:11.960 I'm therefore not trespassing.
00:04:14.240 The kids were, you know, being bullied and extorted to go back to class.
00:04:18.760 And I actually said in front of the officer, this is intimidation right in its finest.
00:04:23.880 And the officer agreed with me.
00:04:25.900 They wanted the kids to not be able to protest there and to listen to the protest law.
00:04:29.940 And I said, these are kids that go to this school and actually attend this school.
00:04:33.820 They are not trespassing.
00:04:35.000 They are not doing anything wrong.
00:04:36.840 They just want to be heard.
00:04:38.640 Ultimately, the police officers were very good.
00:04:41.800 They stood back.
00:04:42.560 And every time I kind of came up with a law and stood in our rights for the kids, he agreed with me.
00:04:49.580 The principal, I think, was very flustered at that.
00:04:52.180 And the kids eventually just kind of started coming in.
00:04:55.080 We had one young girl in tears.
00:04:58.040 She felt that she had been forced to be vaccinated and against her wishes.
00:05:02.260 And right now she feels like she can't get this out of her body.
00:05:06.200 And it was a devastating moment to which the principal actually sat there.
00:05:11.000 I'm not sure whether he was uncomfortable with the situation or what was going on.
00:05:14.220 But he actually laughed at her.
00:05:15.860 And that kind of really infuriated the students at that point.
00:05:20.100 We did leave peacefully.
00:05:21.740 The children were all suspended for one day and told that they would have to return with masks on or not return at all.
00:05:28.560 I pulled my girls at that point.
00:05:31.140 We have still yet, according to the Education Act in Saskatchewan, we are supposed to be notified immediately if police are called to the school, if there's a lockdown, if children are suspended or expelled for any reason.
00:05:45.560 We are supposed to be notified within a reasonable or an immediate amount of time.
00:05:50.340 That still has not happened to this date.
00:05:52.840 And this has been two weeks.
00:05:54.500 We did go back for a slow roll.
00:05:56.260 And the difference between the kids, the kids that had gone back and attended, at one minute they were all, yes, we've got to serve this.
00:06:03.740 We've got to do this.
00:06:04.520 We have rights.
00:06:05.480 And a week later, they had been so browbeaten that they were actually asking us to leave when we did go back to the school a week later with some of the other parents to stand for them and let them know.
00:06:15.860 And that was pretty heartbreaking.
00:06:17.480 But it's something that is coming up and they have been served and charges will be pending very quickly.
00:06:24.960 I've been banned from all the school properties, which is not legal.
00:06:30.160 So they're aware of the fact that that's not legal and I'm not taking that seriously at all either.
00:06:34.260 Yeah, so Vienna and Atlanta, how are you feeling now?
00:06:42.820 Are you back in school?
00:06:44.380 Are you deciding to stay home?
00:06:47.660 Well, I decided to go back to school after a week of, after the day I was suspended, I didn't go back for the week after.
00:06:56.500 And since I am doing most of my main classes for universities, like physical science and stuff like that, I am not able to learn online.
00:07:06.680 In grade nine, when we all did go online, I basically dropped out.
00:07:11.380 I didn't do the rest of grade nine just because I cannot learn online.
00:07:17.120 So I decided to go back to school.
00:07:19.260 I still barely wear my mask properly.
00:07:22.700 Teachers yell at me.
00:07:24.260 They give me weird looks.
00:07:25.540 I don't care.
00:07:26.500 But at this point, I'm just kind of excited to see what happens after the mask mandate is dropped.
00:07:41.340 And are they?
00:07:42.400 Atlanta's the quiet one, so.
00:07:44.700 Yeah, I just don't.
00:07:47.180 Are they talking about doing that in Saskatchewan?
00:07:49.640 Because we know Jason Kenney has come out and said that the mask would be removed from 12 years and under.
00:07:54.260 And the wording was so funny because you'd think it was for 12 years and under going to school, but it was like everyone else would have to wear a mask while in school.
00:08:03.680 It was very confusing.
00:08:05.480 And so is there talk about that in Saskatchewan?
00:08:07.620 Yeah, we've had a couple.
00:08:10.160 I know that the Teachers Federation has said that they're going to try and keep this going.
00:08:15.760 But Scott Moore, our premier, actually did come out the other day and forcibly demand that the school divisions drop all mandates and drop the masks.
00:08:24.300 And not kind of basically didn't give them a choice in the matter.
00:08:28.800 He took that choice away and said that this is not happening.
00:08:33.020 So we are quite interested to see what happens on March 1st if the school boards uphold that.
00:08:40.660 If not, I and the rest of the chapters in Saskatchewan will be ready to pass, for lack of a better term, and make sure that this happens.
00:08:49.440 We are already dealing with the extracurricular activities and their jabs and their proof of vaccine type things.
00:08:57.060 I've had to remind quite a few schools that that is now gone, and it's illegal at the very least.
00:09:02.880 And we've had a few of them drop it since then.
00:09:05.400 And that's only been since Valentine's Night.
00:09:08.220 Right.
00:09:08.860 Valentine's the 15th.
00:09:10.580 So who have dropped it?
00:09:12.420 Sorry?
00:09:14.020 We've got a couple of the schools that were still forcing vax passes or double vax to go on extracurricular activities.
00:09:22.400 Some of the kids in band and then some of the kids in basketball.
00:09:25.940 They were trying to force them to still produce these things to go.
00:09:30.340 And so the parents have called, and I have made a couple quick calls and said, these are done.
00:09:34.220 It's absolutely done if you continue on.
00:09:37.740 Yeah.
00:09:38.240 Right.
00:09:38.820 It's just educating people and letting them know.
00:09:40.900 And when it comes down to that personal liability, right?
00:09:43.300 So I'm so grateful.
00:09:44.960 You must, I'm hoping both you girls appreciate the fight that your mom is in, not only your behalf, but other students.
00:09:52.840 Well, I'm so proud of you girls.
00:09:54.220 You guys are a force.
00:09:55.180 You have no idea.
00:09:56.300 Like once your peers begin to open their eyes, they're going to look at you in a whole new way.
00:10:02.180 So you just need to stand the line and stick together.
00:10:06.900 There is going to be an end to this.
00:10:08.360 We're fighting real hard.
00:10:09.640 And Tony, thank you so much for all the work that you're doing and for being here tonight.
00:10:13.840 We're a scene.
00:10:14.900 We're fighting real hard.
00:10:15.060 We're fighting real hard.
00:10:19.940 We're fighting real hard.
00:10:20.960 We're fighting real hard.
00:10:22.760 We're fighting real hard.
00:10:22.900 We're fighting real hard.
00:10:23.120 We're fighting real hard.
00:10:23.540 See you in the era room someday.
00:10:25.460 Bye.
00:10:26.040 See you next time.
00:10:26.640 Bye.
00:10:27.600 Bye.
